Speaker 1 (02:31):
Thank you for sharing with us tonight. Tell me your
favorite holiday tradition and memory.

Speaker 6 (02:36):
I think it would have to be the night I
met my husband. Our first date was Christmas Eve.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Tell me what happened.

Speaker 6 (02:43):
I actually I had known him for years and in
high school, and we had drifted apart and he had
moved to different parts of the country and he came
back and we bumped into each other. Had a friend
and just became friends and started hanging out. Next I
knew I realized that I liked him, that I wanted

(03:04):
to get to know him better, and we started dating,
and three months later we were engaged, and two years
later we got married.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
So Christmas Eve is a very very special holiday for
your family.

Speaker 6 (03:14):
For me, it is. It's very special for my family
in that we're very close and my mother has worked.
My mother for most of my life until my dad
came along, worked very hard to keep us together and
to make Christmas happy for us. So I think for me,
my mom is one of my best memories of Christmas.

Speaker 7 (03:46):
Michael, Hi, Hi, how are you?

Speaker 4 (03:48):
I'm good? How are you?

Speaker 7 (03:49):
I'm fine?

Speaker 4 (03:50):
What are you thinking of this evening?

Speaker 7 (03:52):
I'm thinking of Lisa this evening?

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Who is Lisa?

Speaker 7 (03:55):
She's a grow up in seeing about four months now
and thinking about asking her hand in marriage.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Wow, kind of serious here, then.

Speaker 7 (04:07):
Yeah, she's someone that has come along at the right
time and the time of my life that she's just
come along at the right point.

Speaker 8 (04:15):
So only you've only been dating four months and you're
convinced in your heart that she's the one.

Speaker 7 (04:19):
Yes, I am.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Tell me Michael what qualities Lisa has.

Speaker 8 (04:22):
It makes her different than all the other women that
I'm sure you've dated along the way. She I don't
mean to be presumptuous here, but you sound like you
have a you have a very pleasing voice, and you
sound like a really nice guy.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
So I would bet there's been more than one or
two ladies that have been interested in you.

Speaker 7 (04:37):
Yeah, there's been a few. And I've had my heart
broke several times, and she's just come along, like I said,
in a time and point in my life where I
think I'm looking for something that I've already found, and
that would be her her qualities. She's very caring and loving,
and she's shown a sight of herself that I've never

(04:58):
seen in any of the other women.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Well, what would that side be? Tell me what these
characters are.

Speaker 7 (05:03):
She's very caring and she shows it in every way possible.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
And so she's demonstrative with her love.

Speaker 6 (05:11):
Right.

Speaker 7 (05:11):
She makes me feel special and makes me feel like
I'm something to her and I mean something to her.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
So are you gonna like look at sparkly things this Christmas?

Speaker 7 (05:22):
I've already been looking at things this Christmas.

Speaker 8 (05:25):
Listen to you smile, I would suspect you have a
little surprise at your sleeves.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
Possibly let me find a song for you.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Michael, okay, Hi, good evening.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
Is this eleanor yes, ma'am, it is.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Merry Christmas to you, dear many more. You sent us
a beautiful story about your favorite Christmas memory that happened
many years ago. Oh yeah, tell me about that Christmas
so many years ago during the depression.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
Yeah, it was in the thirties. I guess I was
just a young girl. We had beautiful winter that year.
The snow just laid on those trees so pretty. And
every year we had in church, which was a tiny church,
if he set sixty, we were lucky. Anyway, we have
to say pieces and do a program, you know, for

(06:20):
our parents. So we couldn't wait to get that over
with so we could see Santa Claus. Of course he
came in with his sleigh. Of course there were horses,
but they had ant wers on him. Anyway, Rudolph was
never thought of about that time. But anyway, he would
come in and he'd go to the tree, and then
every kid would just sit on the edge of this seat,
just waiting for this guy to call him. Name you know,

(06:43):
So when he came to my turn, I went up
and picked up my present. Well, the president was almost
up to my chest from the bottom of my chin.
It was so tall. I couldn't wait to get back
to my seat to find out what it was all about.
So I ripped off the wrappings and there was this big,
beautiful doll. She had blonde hair, she had a red

(07:03):
hat red dress, coal black type leather shoes, and white socks,
and she was porcelain beautiful. I couldn't believe what I
was seeing. In fact, I couldn't even remember what happened
after that because I was too busy looking at her.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
You were just in shock, yeah, because.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
You know, back in those times, parents just couldn't afford
to buy thanks for their children, and this one man
in town was our Santa Clauses. Every year he would
buy stuff for us and make sure we got it
for Christmas, and then of course he'd ask our parents
what we really would like the month. And I've always
wanted a.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Doll, and you got a doll to beat all dolls.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
Oh, yes, didn't I something You'll never forget.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments.

Speaker 1 (07:52):

share more with you each weekend.
