going to be backed with Saudi money, and so that
this huh yeah, and so that I know that it
could potentially be one of these things where he's going
to announce that this is his final season in the
NBA and he's going to start his own league. And
then he goes and again it's not he's a part.
He's he'll be a part of this league, but the
league is not his. It's a it's a one of
his boys. And I would I could see that him
(30:00):
announcing this as a final season for the Los Angeles Lakers.
They noticed there was a boosting or a spike in
ticket sales when the when this little teaser video came out. Yeah,
he announces that this is going to be the last
season in the NBA, and leaves it at that right,
play it fulfills the season, does all that, and then
at the after the season's end and whatnot and whatnot,
(30:21):
and then he makes then announcement that he's going to
be playing in this other league in Europe. You know,
all these guys again, they're all taking the money, all
of them. It's across the board. They everyone's taking the money.
And there they've been some failure failures here there with that,
with that, that fund that they have from Saudi Arabia.
But all these guys, doesn't matter if you're a comedian,
doesn't matter, if you're an entertainer, doesn't matter if you're
(30:43):
an athlete. They league or whatever, they're all taking the money.
So I think you think.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
It's related to that.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
So no chance he's going to another team.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
Nah, Okay, because because the NBA has already started and
like the Magic started the pre so preseason Lakers, he's
on the preseason.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
He's on that team.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Yeah, okay, So so it could be he's announcing his retirement.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
I mean, there's no chance he switched to another team.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Not without the I mean, not without the Lakers involvement.
It would be a huge, huge deal rush. It would
be like a huge like trade.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
Uh. You know, they wouldn't allow him to do some
some gimmick announcement that they would want to announce it themselves, right.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
That the Lakers the Lakers. If the Lakers trade Lebron,
the Lakers would make that announcement. Yeah, so this is
Lebron doing something unless again, when it comes to Lebron James,
it all it all depends, right. So let's say the
Lakers are in there in cahoots or are in with this,
so they're going to let him do this deal to
make this announcement, and as soon as the deal is announced,
(31:49):
the Lakers are backing it, and uh, there's another whatever
other team because it would take a couple of teams
to be involved to move this guy and his salary,
you know, so you would have a would have a
handful of players involved.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Which we all think it's probably he's going to announce
today at noon he's retiring.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
That would that would be my Uh, that's where I
think I.
Speaker 5 (32:10):
Think it's gonna be some kind of weird like what
like a brand deal.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
We've seen this before.
Speaker 7 (32:16):
I remember Snoop Dogg quit smoking.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Oh yeah, that's true, tou. That's that's just as good
against as mind rush.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
That'll make people mad, though, that'll.
Speaker 7 (32:24):
Be making people very just like a hustle. Yeah, I
mean he's done.
Speaker 5 (32:28):
He's a businessman, so he's now captured the attention by
giving this weird, vague booking that he's just done. And uh,
it'll make people mad, but the people who are already
mad at Lebron are going to stay mad, and then
a couple of people would be mildly annoyed.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
So other than last year, at the beginning of the season,
he was part of the conversation because his son was
playing and a suddendn't bring that much. Yeah, Bronny, he
was probably the conversation. After that, it didn't seem like
I heard you talk much or anyone talked much about
Lebron James last season. So he's sort of not in
the conversation as much as it used to be. Do
(33:02):
you think that, Oh.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Don't let don't let my lack of him bring bringing
him up every day in the because he had an
incredible season for a forty year old player. I judge
by what you talk I know and it's a bitting
you in the butt before there's because he again, by
any measure, he was a contributing factor for that team.
(33:23):
The next time that we talked about him is when
the Dallas Mavericks made that trade and they sent Luca
up there. Yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
So but now, from what I understand, correct me if
I'm wrong, Luca is the star of that team.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
It's not Lebron James anymore. Well, I would, I would
phrase it this way. It's Lucas for the taking. What
we've seen him do in the offseason are all the
right things. He's gotten into incredible shape, like the best
shape when he got there. Yeah, so he's in the
best shape that anyone's ever seen him ever going into
this season. So again it'll be it'll be interesting because.
Speaker 1 (33:57):
I think he's announcing it this is my final season.
That way, it's gonna sell more tickets. The attention will
be on him for this entire season. And then he
was he thirty eight, thirty nine. Oh, he's forty one,
forty one, Okay, so it's time just go now you
can just relax, spend your money and enjoy yourself.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
Yeah yeah, yeah, I genuinely think he's gonna be in
the in this other league, in this league in Europe.
M yeah, that the new startup.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
Even if the other league in Europe, you think it
will compete with the NBA, I mean it won't be
as good, not that it won't be as good.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Again, remember, the NBA has been around for whatever one
hundred years or whatever.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
They're paying players a lot more than they're paying but.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
They don't have the infrastructure. Like it's going to be
a new league. It's gonna have to build traditions, it's
gonna have to build all that. It's gonna have to
build its rival reason. It's going to have to do
all these things. But it will be a start, you
know what I mean. And you would want you know,
if you're starting a brand new league, why would you
not want Lebron James to be one of the featured
players in this new vie.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
Because it's like the flag football thing with Tom with.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
Brady, Yeah, yeah, it just gets gets attention for him.
