It is a beautiful Thursday weekend is close to being
here already, which is awesome. Amen, looking at the watching
the news this morning a little bit, and you know

(03:50):
what we had thought about because tomorrow I'm going to
be off for my anniversary. Eight year anniversary for me,
that's the longest one I've ever had, never never had
a marriage that long, so as it's worth celebrating for sure.
And we had thought about, you know, you know, because
I was going to take off you know, I've got
this blue green thing where it's it's sort of like
a timeshare you can go anywhere you want kind of

(04:11):
a thing. So I've got free room anywhere I want
to go. H And we thought about flying somewhere, but
I'm like, you know when we were, when I was
making plans at the beginning of the week, I'm like,
more than likely by the end of the week, it's
going to get even worse. And it it is because
of the government shut down. They're saying that the air
they're going to reduce air traffic Friday by ten percent.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
They decimated it.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
So let me ask you a question. So, right, if
you if you're going to eliminate air traffic by ten percent,
how many flights do you think that will cut starting Friday?
God to guess, Oh, because I didn't know, and i'd look.
So I'm not trying to I'm not trying to pretend
like trying to right. No, no, no, I'm not trying to.

(04:53):
I'm not trying to pretend like I'm smart. I didn't
know either. I was shocked when I saw that ck Ryan.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Not airplane Ryan, hundred thousand, one.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Hundred thousand flights. You think won't happen on Friday. That's
a little high.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Oh gosh, you guy knows the answer.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
I wouldn't even against that. But Angel, what do you
think is gonna cut by Friday? How many flights will
be cut because the air traffic controllers can't work.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Let's say about twenty one thousand, No, it's.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
It's four thousand flights daily will not be able to
go into airspace, so decimated. There's a shortage of three
thousand air traffic controllers because of the government shut down.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Get in there.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
You announce the airports.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
They have not. It says forty different airports and more
than likely Orlando will be one of them. But I
don't know that for sure. They were speculating. They have
not announced which ones yet, but because the bigger ones
is one of the ones, are saying that will probably
be affected. And I think you consider Orlando a bigger
one right in our area.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
Miami Atlanta. Miami, Orlando and Atlanta would be the ones
the southeast.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Yeah, definitely, Ronald Reagan, Washington National Airport will be affected.
Uh so, because you've got a lot of the air
traffic controllers not going to work because the government shunt.
Now they're gotting, they're not getting paid, so they got
they got to make some money somehow. So they ask
you guys a question. So if you were air traffic controller,
and you will you know, you work for the for
the government, you're not getting paid and everything, would you

(06:21):
would you not go? Because they're asking them, hey, just work,
we'll get you paid when we can. Would you still
go to work?

Speaker 4 (06:28):
The concern is is that there's been overtures that even
if they come back, they're not going to make up
the money that they've lost.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
I realized that, But the question is if it were you,
and you know.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
I wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
I would not.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
I got to take care of my family, and I
totally get that. That's what I'm saying. If if if
you're already threatening that you're not gonna pay me even
when I come back, right then yeah, I'm gonna go
and work. And they had a bunch of of the
air traffic controllers on the news yesterday. These guys are
picking them shifts that with u Uber, with Lyft, with

(07:00):
any of the food delivery services, any of the kind
of those kind of jobs that they can pick up
just to help pay or offset costs for their family.
So yeah, texting service.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Is saying all the morning news places are reporting that
Orlando is on the list. I imagined it was. I
heard that it was as well. I just didn't know
for sure. What about you, Ryan, You're not getting paid.
They're like, listen, don't worry, We're going to pay it
when we work all this out. We need you. You
You're very important to uh. Are you still going to work?

Speaker 3 (07:26):
They're free coffee.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Yes, they're still free coffee.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
No, they wouldn't be.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
They wouldn't be coming stock. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Yeah, there's none of that stuff. Is there going to
be there because they're not paid for it? Think about
it like a lot.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
I'm I don't know how many, but there are a
portion of them that have to pay their childcare. Right Like,
I got to go to work. To go to work,
I have to pay childcare. So I got to pay
actually to go to work. I can't. I can't afford
to do it. Another thing that's striking me is that
out of everybody, because I asked the question initially how
many people in our listening audience are being affected by
the government shutdown, and we had folks from NASA are
really the only one and answered us and said, man,

(08:01):
we're not getting our paycheck, you know that. So the
NASA people out of the Kennedy Space Center, they're the ones.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
They were the biggest ones. There were some other few
others I didn't see. Yeah, that was the biggest block
up represented. But there were a few other people that
had federal jobs that were being affected here locally. And
then there was a couple other people and I didn't
understand it, but like they're basically their students, their students'
insurance through the FED stuff, I mean stuff like that. Yeah,

(08:28):
that's all.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Deep in the weeds.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
But I got that list and were on that. We're
on the list.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Well, yeah, Orlando is on the list. Yeah. Yeah, the
of the the airports that are will be cut by
ten percent. Uh. It's sort of amazings. And with the
whole government shut down, what's making the news? The only
job that's really making the news that's important to the country,
it seems would be air traffic control. Like there's a
lot of other people that are affected, but all the

(08:55):
news is being made because of air traffic traffic control?
And is that you think because it represents so much money,
like like it's not just tourism, but travel like that,
like a airplane, airflight travel represents so much money and
with those with that particular job being down, and also
if you do take a flight, it's it's it's the

(09:16):
question of your safety, right like, like, man, do I
got to stressed out? If I do fly? Do I
have a stressed out air traffic control person? It's not
getting paid, freaking out and not really paying attention, overworked.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
You know, uh and then shifts. Yeah, there's no correlation
between the two. But I'm sure you're uneasy after you've
seen the ups plane going down, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
so that's that's just playing somewhere in the back of
your mind at some point.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
And that's up to up to eleven people now that
that died from that thing. But it's it's interesting that
the most, you know, the all the news is reporting
on just that one position, which is air traffic control.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
Well, we lost the free ola plant too. I don't
know if it was related, but now we got.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
No chips coming out of or I I didn't know that.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
Oh yeah, they laid off four hundred and sixty eight
people yesterday.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Yeah, they're sutting it down.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
What are you lay people. We got the freedom lay
people that listen. I know they do. Yeah, where's Mike
the chip gut?

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Are you okay man?

Speaker 2 (10:11):
What are other jobs? Because it's they're just reporting on
air traffic control? What are other jobs that are being
fed by parks? Okay, small business? We can do about
those and it's not making a lot of news. Is
that what that is? No?

Speaker 4 (10:23):
I mean, are you looking for all the federal jobs
or the federal jobs that directly just affect you.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
No, I'm just saying that, why is it that only
air traffic control guy? And they you know, I want
to know, like it's important. I'm not saying it's not important,
but there are no other jobs that they're going. Oh
and by the way, air traffic control and also this
particular job which we all need.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
The people that work all the back offices for like
cutting other checks, that kind of stuff. People not getting
their small.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Business Administration can't do any loans right now because I
can't get one and I need one.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
So that's fun.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Okay, OSHA shut down, So any'd be like, uh, you know,
workplace safety stuff is done. The Department of Veterans Affairs.
People are having problems with that. But I've heard various
tales of it being open in some places and some not.
But I know veterans are having problems getting services right now, So.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
You think all of that just really isn't as sexy
as air traffic controller, because an air traffic controller, you know,
we consider them for our safety, and it's it's what's
making the news. Like so if there's ever if they're
if they're going to actually put it back together, it's
gonna be pressure affect.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
We do about three million people are flying a day
in the US, So that's three million people that are
very aware of what's going on day by day. And
it's three it tends to be three million different people
every day.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Yeah, they had an interview with I think it's somebody
from the Transportation Secretary something like that, and they was
basically said, listen, if you don't have to fly right now,
you know the adult, that's not a good time. But
we're stressed. We need less people in the air, which
is going to affect the economy really really bad. You know,
I mean, you know, uh, like I say, just for

(11:59):
a little done like me decided not to fly, and
I also made decisions not to fly in December, because
I'm not confident that everything will be really you know,
good to go the third week of December. Yeah, you
know with the with air airflight.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
You know who else has shuts down the airspace for
their country?

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Who that?

Speaker 3 (12:19):
North Korea?

Speaker 2 (12:20):
I did not know that. Yeah, well this is uh
so Orlando will be one of them. I'm getting a
lot of reports now saying Orlando will be one of
the ones that will be shut down. It's at forty
major airports will be shut down, and that's about three
four thousand flights a day, so you know, I mean
over the weekend that's gonna be that's gonna be a

(12:41):
lot of flights. So there's there, there will be the
pressure right there to open the government back up. Is all.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
One of the things I'm learning with us as going
through this is that it all depends on the kind
of federal agencies or the assistance that you deal with
fun on a day to day basis. Right, So, like
the Department of Agriculture is shut down right now, So
if you're not in farming, yeah yeah it's not you're
it's not going to be on the news. I'm sure
if we live.

Speaker 5 (13:04):
Wondered why I was being bothered less. I'm actually under
the Department of Agriculture. If you got an email in
like thirty.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
Five days, Yeah, I was gonna say if you lived
in a heavily farming community that depended or needed that,
I'm sure that would be more. Uh, you know, got
available on the local news.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
You know, That's what I was wondering English. So the
only thing that we all have in common that a
process all is the air traffic.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Controller and the chips. We also got to eat chip.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
The chips is not related to the government.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
Ship feels related. Also, thank you Mike the chip guy
for checking in. Who says he's good now he works
in the warehouse.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
You're a hero, sir.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Yeah, real quick, because people are asking these kinds of questions.
So the postal Service still operates, and the reason it
still operates is that it's an independent entity that is
self funded through the sale of its products and services
and not by tax.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Dollars, so it doesn't affect us.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
So that's why. That's why, because I'm sure that would
be the next big thing. If the United States Postal
Service was, you know, on furlough, that would be something
day to day people not getting their mail delivered to them.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
So the the military, they're not they're not getting paid
or I thought that I thought Trump had a way
to pay them or something. I thought there was some
loophole there where he figured out how to pay. But
they're not getting paid. But they don't have a choice.
They can't go listen a drill instructor, I'm not going
to work today. I'm not getting paid. They can't do that.
If you're in the military, you're working for free and
they'll they'll get you when they get you. So that's

(14:22):
not going to make news.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
So they were able to execute in order to get
them paid this last pay period, That's what I thought,
but it's already up in question again. Oh really Yeah,
and there's questions about the way that they were the
agreement that was made, or the way that they were paid.
That there was probably some rules that might have been broken.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
Now snap benefits Still those folks still aren't getting their
their benefits of a a lot of hungry people. But
that's not making as much news as the air traffic
controllers because that affects a lot of people's you know,
bottom line, that money.

Speaker 5 (14:58):
I did it down the street from a chur here's
out free food on Tuesdays, and I've never seen them
so busy as I saw them on Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
I mean, like there's cars like out the end of
the street.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
I got a friend of mine, it's got four flights
in the next two weeks. I wouldn't I mean, I wouldn't.
I wouldn't go.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
I mean, here's the thing, Russ. At a certain point here,
you're not going to be It's not even a choice.
It's not even going to be your choice. Yeah, you know,
if you're relying again, would you say forty airports across
the country, that's what they're saying. Yea certain starting Friday,
You're yeah, you're going to be affected. There's no way
that you're not going to.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Be We're all going to be affected because it's what
I voted for.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Huh is what I voted for. No, I voted part
of my voting.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
It was an eventual government shutdown and difficult for people
to fly.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
Well, that's what you got airlines for America airlines.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Let's see here, Baron Trump twenty twenty nine.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Bunch of well, I mean, yeah, almost every airline's affected,
so it's going to I'm curious how it's going to
affect us personally in the next couple of weeks.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
You know, well, I mean all the only way it
would is that if any of us are traveling.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
But okay, but if you have that many flights that
aren't happening or are we relying on anything.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
Not, like it's the Thanksgiving season coming up?

Speaker 4 (16:16):
Yeah yeah, oh yeah, families, Yeah, I'll be what you know,
how it's going to impact on us is that the
roads are going to be even more packed on the
on the holiday weekends.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
People people getting I mean, like you know, people two options.
People aren't going to do Thanksgiving or they're going to
drive and they're gonna drive longer in further distances.

Speaker 5 (16:34):
Okay, well text you serf checking and dumpsters are being
dumped according to dump and dumpsters.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Well that's just forgot that. That's good.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
Yeah, it's all trash. I mean, everything's a dumpter fire now.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
So if you're being affected by the government shutdown now,
like the air traffic we know air traffic control people are.
If you are, I'd love for you to text us
and tell us how you are are being affected. You
can text us at seven seven zero three one. That's
seven seven zero three one, and sometimes we text you back,
don't go anywhere. You're listening to the Macha in the morning.

(17:10):
A lot of people sending us texts this morning at
seven seven zero three one, and I asked the question,
are you affected by the government shutdown? Because all the
news is about the air traffic controllers, which you know
obviously if you plan on flying anywhere or whatever. And
we have a couple of people I think it's just
one guy actually, but saying that he's making plans and
now has decided to go on a train instead of

(17:32):
taking a plane because you know there's gonna be you know,
it's gonna be effected. Ten percent of the flights are
gonna be canceled, and it's gonna be long lines. And you,
I mean, can you really trust the air traffic controllers
that are working there for free? They might be stressed out, tired, whatever, uh,
and they're gonna take a train now. Every time I've
ever tried to book a train trip and to do

(17:53):
it just for you know, for hey, I've never done
this before. Let me check it out. See what it's like.
It's always more expended. It's like as expensive as flying,
but it takes a lot longer, and I always back out.
I was like, oh, man, that's really you know, it's
not economical to take a train. Have you guys ever

(18:14):
taken a train on a trip before?

Speaker 3 (18:16):
No?

Speaker 4 (18:17):
Yeah, like that, like I've done, you know, let's say
across the state stuff or whatever like that. But nothing
out of state, not.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
In the Yankee US. Amtrak trains garbage. When you go
to Europe, man, you see how a train travel should be. Yeah, damn,
that's a good train.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
When I went to Ireland, we took a train from
one point one side of Ireland to the other side,
and it was nice, you're right, and they had like
a little car car where you can get drinks. It
was Ireland, they want a drink in there.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
But Amtrak depressing af.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
I've never been on. I tried three different times. When
you know what, I'm just gonna book it, what the hell.
And then when it got to the price, I'm like,
oh my god, that's so expensive. So I would imagine
the price of getting on a train is going to
go up now that people might decide to take a
train instead of a plane, you know, is it going
to drive the prices up? You think?

Speaker 5 (19:07):
I don't know, man, trains have always like, like I
remember coming back here looking at train prices. I was like, oh,
I should travel by train, and was shocked to see
how expensive it was. Yeah, so I don't know. People
people probably just go stay home. That's what people do. Yeah,
they just don't go anywhere. Well, they don't start doing
like other forms of travel. Like even you told me

(19:27):
you're the first thing I personally make me think about trains.
I was like, oh, I guess I just won't fly anywhere.
My mind doesn't go what other ways can I get there? No,
it's not going.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
It just won't go. Well, we decided that we're gonna drive,
like you know, we're driving to a couple different things.
And you know that's that's not bad. I mean, it's
just a road trip. Is you can make a road
trip fun.

Speaker 5 (19:47):
Well, I hate to tell you, but the travel by
cars far more dangerous than train travel.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
You're right, and it's and it's more dangerous than plane travel.
I know, but we just decided. I don't know, it
just didn't. I don't know. When I was sitting there
going okay, do we go on a plane? Man? And
I've just seen that story about the ups plane crashing,
and I realized the ups plane has nothing to do
with a commercial flight.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
No, there's no connection there, but it's it went play
on your Psycheah, absolutely, you're not human if it wouldn't you.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Know what I mean? The visual thing. I'm like, yeah,
I don't need that to be fair.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
The people on the plane lived, Oh did they? I
think no one on the plane died. I think it
was because they hit a bunch of stuff. They hit
a they hit a shop.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Is that accurate?

Speaker 2 (20:30):
I thought?

Speaker 3 (20:30):
I feel like I heard that this morning.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
I thought that three people on the plane died and
then other people died.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
It's a it was.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
A it was a big ass explosion. Man, it was bad.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Okay I found that fascinating. Uh. But at least twelve
people were killed.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Yeah it was twelve now I know one was a child.
It was on the ground.

Speaker 5 (20:49):
Oh it is the three crew members. Okay, yeah, all right.
I was like, wow, good for them for Nope, No,
I'm not getting on a plane now. I was like, Oh,
if you're on the plane, you're safe.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Nope.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
Not worst place to be, yeah, wor's place to be
in a plane crash? They say, rush the plane.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
In the plane. Well, this is the longest government shut
down ever. Uh and the last the last longest government
shut down ever was during Trump administration. This is this
now the section. He's got two under his belt. That's
two nothing, two records to have you. I mean, it's
good to you know. At least you got something going for.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
You, USA, USA.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Yeah. So I did something yesterday and I realized that
I think I agree with Ryan. And whenever this happens
to me, I get I get a little sick up
the stomach. I'm in a quandary. I hate to admit it, man,
but you know me, I'll admit it if if so
we did. We've had this habit now and I gotta
have It's a tradition. It's a thing, you know, every Wednesday,
it's like hey Wednesday. Now. I know this all sounds

(21:47):
like old man stuff. And I realized it. Just so
you know, we're gonna get in the pontoon boat. We're
gonna go for early bird special. Uh. And it's uh,
it's Prime rib day over at this place, Tanners. We're
all gonna be going in January.

Speaker 5 (22:02):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
So you get in the get into pontoon. My old
wife get there. If they open it four and that's
when you can get the prime rib. And it's like
five lakes over so we get you know, it's a
nice little drive over there, five lakes. You know, it's
a good little drive get there. And normally, though I
don't get the prime rib, my wife gets the prime
rib and she loves that, and I get something else.
And this time I decide, you know what, I haven't

(22:24):
really had prim rem in a long time. I'm gonna
get the prime rib. Uh. And I know, Ryan, you
said you don't particularly care for it, right, And I
got halfway through that and I'm like, you know what,
I don't really like this either. Now that I'm thinking
about it. It was like lukewarm, you know, if you
get it medium, it's like lukewarm.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
I'm lukewarm inside.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
And I'm like, you know what, I really don't like
the prime rib. I hate to agree with Ryan. And
then and you're right, remind you of something that you
get at a wedding kind of like I don't want
to say slot, but it's like, you know, it's buffet
food and and at four o'clock, all the other people
in that area, you know, who are there for the
early bird special, but we're the youngest one, right because

(23:09):
everybody else is lined up for the prime rib and
then ready to play bingo directly afterwards.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
And then what are your options? So if you don't
do that, like typically in the past, what have you ordered?

Speaker 2 (23:19):
I've gotten the pork chop man, pork chop is good,
or you get a burger, or they've got other kind
of steak you can get, you know, but I've never
really gotten the prime rib. And I got halfway through it,
I'm like, oh, that's kind of chewy. Not really, you know,
but I always thought of prime rib as like the greatest.
It's the greatest thing you could order.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Because that's the word prime in it.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
Yes, because that's the.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
Word prime rib is benefits from the name. Yeah, And
people automatically think that it's a higher a better cut,
or a higher end cut than what it actually is.
And it's it's one of those ones where, like you said,
if it's done even just mediocrely, it's it seems to
be worse than it.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
If you call it warm steak, nobody would want to,
you know, it's warm steak.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
You know what they call prime heat lamp steak, heat.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
Lamp steak yeah. So uh. I hate to say I
agree with you, Ryan, but now I do. I'm not
I'm not getting the primary venue, Ian, We'll still go.
She loves it like that's her thing. She loves to
get the primary for Prime Special. Have you guys ever like,
am I the only one that goes to that goes
to early Bird Special?

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Well, you dude, I gotta be in bed by seven,
So it's you know, I've got an excuse. I don't
fit in with the old people. I'm the young guy there.
I'm the young guy there. But we get to pull
the boat up and just you know, no, I know
I do. And as we're walking out, I'm looking at
the old people that are staying to play bingo and

(24:46):
I'm like, we can't even stay to play bingo because
I gotta go to bed. Like I'm the worst of
all these old people, because I can't stay in party
with these cowboys. I gotta I gotta get my ass
in the boat and go to bed. Uh super super early.
But yeah, what other food is it that everybody else
loves that you guys have realized they don't really care for.

Speaker 5 (25:08):
Well, I used to love doritos. I love to Rita
right now that freedo ley Is shut down their plant
in Orlando and laid people off. I'm not eating them anymore.
But other than that, it adin't stop at me.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
I'm still eating them. If I get it.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
I'm five hundred people that are laid off of that
plant and a fifty other from that.

Speaker 5 (25:24):
One Texa guy worked there for twenty one years. They
gave him an hour notice. An hour notice. But food,
I don't everybody loves it.

Speaker 3 (25:32):
I don't eat heavy.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
Have you ever tried caviar? Caviar, bro so you can
eat caviar? Yes, I think I've only tried it, like
like in the studio one time, someone brought it in.
It was just salty. It's like it's salty, so.

Speaker 4 (25:44):
You like it. I thought it was awesome, But again
the person that I went with, we went to a
restaurant and that's like they were like kind of the
way that tequila was ruined for you Ryan that one time. Yeah,
So I had it with people that knew what they
were doing, and so they kind of schooled me on it,
and so I was like, oh, that's awesome. Then the
next time rush that I tried it, and I tried

(26:06):
it on my own, and I just bought some from
a grocery store and didn't get the right like, uh,
you know, accessories or accompaniment with it. It wasn't as
awesome as an experience as it was the first time,
you know. So it's one of those things. I think
you got to know what you're doing.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Primary a lot of people to texted in, so you
got to try Primary at another place. Maybe it wasn't
cooked right.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
I got a hot take for you. Food that everybody
seems to like that I don't like. I like this
food regular. I like this food in a lot of
different ways, except for this particular way. Bucket of fried chicken.
What I don't enjoy it that way at all. You
don't like a bucket chicken sandwich. I will eat like
a Chick fil a sandwich. But when it comes to

(26:46):
like a bucket of chicken, especially when you get that
one piece that's like not a leg or a thigh
and it's just like a like the.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
Big one, that's one I hate it. Explain it delivers.

Speaker 5 (26:58):
It's messy to eats all over my hands everywhere.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
I hate you like fried chicken, You just don't.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
I don't even like it I get to eat, and
I'm like, this is mediocre at best.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Wait Man, So if you're talking bucket, that means you're
only talking Kentucky fried chicken because they're the only ones
that do it.

Speaker 5 (27:13):
Okay, any fried chicken that's not in a sandwich. So
you don't like fried chicken, I guess not.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
It don't matter if it's in a bucket or in
a box.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Yeah. I like grilled chicken.

Speaker 5 (27:23):
I like, I'd like chicken a thousand different ways, but
when it comes to fried chicken, I don't get it.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
I gotta stop myself from eating too much fried chicken.
I love some chicken fried. Matter of fact, Like Marion's like, hey,
what do you want, the first thought I'll usually have
is fried chicken. I'm like, we can't eat fried chicken
all the time. I got it. You know that's bad
for you, Like you just you.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
Could feel it in your mouth, bad for you.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
And it's chicken. It's you know, it's protein, but it's
fried chicken.

Speaker 5 (27:48):
I'll give you another hot take Kobe. A lot of
people like Kobe. Their white sauce is trash.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
Okay, you're just trying to be You're you're just gonna
burn everything.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
Food A tastes good on it own, and B the
ginger sauce at Kobe is the superior sauce. The white
sauce is just Asian mayonnaise or ranch or whatever.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
It's gross.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
I like the white. So okay, how do you feel
about popcorn chicken?

Speaker 4 (28:13):
Have you ever had to eat it?

Speaker 5 (28:14):
Like, like, when I go to my friends like parties
because they have kids, they always get they always get
the popcorn chicken Republic.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
So I'll sit there and I'll eat it, but not
im a favorite.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Yeah, it's not even it's not even a nugget. It's
it's smaller than a nugget. Popcorn chicken is dumb. It's
for kids though. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Yeah, I mean, upset a lot of people.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
But shout out to Jesse and I just say that
ginger sauce is the superior. Thank you for texting that.
And you're correct, You're you're a person of means and quality.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Well, listen, I'm not saying I'm never gonna try Prime
Rib again. I'm just gonna say that yesterday I got
halfway through my Prime Rib and I thought about Ryan
saying he didn't like it. I'm like, he kind of
got a point here. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
It's just better cuts of steak.

Speaker 5 (28:58):
If there's an option and there's other cut to steak
on the menu over prime rib, I'm going to get
another cut.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Yeah, and then cutting through it. There were some some
parts that were like gristly stuff. You can't cut through it.
I'm like, you do that.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
Yeah, you're chilling that for a little bit.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
Yeah, man, crazy, it's it's it is for old people
because the teeth can eat it, they can gum it down.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
Now, if I have a choice between prime rib or
fried chicken, fried chicken all day long.

Speaker 4 (29:26):
I've never I've never met an entity like you Ryan
wait Man, white guy that doesn't like fried chicken. That's
from the texting.

Speaker 5 (29:36):
I just I don't know when it's a big, greasy
bucket of chicken. Like we used to get them a
lot when I was a kid.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
Good, big, greasier to better. You know, we used to
get it from Oh my god, this is way back
in the day. We had a client. It was a
great guy and he passed away. But uh, it was
over in Sandford and I can't remember the name now.
It was a chicken place, uh, and he would bring
our fried chicken every week.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
It wasn't that long ago that I ate there with
my daughter because she loved their popeyes.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Yeah, I'll just say that Popeye for your daughter. What
was the name?

Speaker 3 (30:09):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (30:09):
Man, God, it's still open, Russ. I've driven by it
every time I've gone by to Sanford. It's still there.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
How is it I can't remember a name of someone
something recipe.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
Yeah, he's the lead singer autograph.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
Okay, chicken, you remember Jeff Tate?

Speaker 2 (30:26):
I don't know anyway, hold on, why can't I remember
the name of this chicken place? They came in every week.
Lee leaves Lee's Fried Chicken. There we go, There you go, Lee, Yeah, there,
he came back to me. You got to see my
brain work real time. Lee's Fried Chicken. It was awesome
because you know what they did special and I learned
this from Lee is they had a uh, it was

(30:47):
a friar that was also a pressure cooker, so they
would pressure cook it and fry it all at the
same time.

Speaker 5 (30:53):
They had great pecans. Yeah, yeah, they've had a whole
pecan section.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 3 (30:58):
It's called Lee's Nuts. All right, we're taking a little break.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
We come back. You're listening to the Match of the morning. Hey,
thanks for listening to Match Morning's were Radio one oh

(31:27):
four point one podcasting live on iHeartRadio. I'm Russ Rowlands
along with Angel Rivera and Ryan Holmes and tomorrow night,
it's what the Hell's Angel listening to from ten until
No nine deal midnight right here on Real Radio one
oh four point one. I saw another story, okay about

(31:47):
it was talking about how they were saying no DJs
in the country play the only music they want. I'm
yelling at the podcast thing that I'm listening to. I
started listening stuff as I'm driving, you know, driving work,
and that's not true, Like, like, why would you say
something of those stupid there right right here? We have
a couple shows that play what they want to play.

(32:08):
It's not a program director telling them what to play. Uh,
But that's the that's the that's what this whole thing
was talking about, how the whole radio thing has been
ruined because of program director of pushing certain songs that
they want you to hear.

Speaker 4 (32:22):
Blah blah blah it is. I'll send them a sternly
worded email.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
I almost like, then I'm gonna be one of those
people that end up getting hold of us when we
say something stupid. I don't want to be that, but uh,
it is quite the point being that it is quite
unusual for a DJ that we just play what they
want any longer.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
Uh, And you get to do that on on Friday night.
You still enjoying it? You still like it absolutely, man,
it's a it's a blast. When people ask me about
it and then like an, how you do it? You know,
you're working all week long, and I explained that, Uh,
Friday nights that's my frosting, Like that's you know, it's
all sugar in the sense of I'm getting to chick, know,
listen to some cool music.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Sometimes might have some friends up here. Sometimes it's just
me just and I and I'm following my whims, you know,
whatever I'm feeling or I want or whatever I'm wanting
to share or whatever i want about people to dig
you know it is a Friday night.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Does it become daunting like a man every Friday night?
I got no, you like it?

Speaker 4 (33:19):
No? Yeah, I thoroughly. Yeah, I absolutely still enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Yes, Well, I try to promote it as much API
and and and the and the shirts are available. The
matter of fact, I almost wore my shirt today. Uh,
but I wanted to go with a black theme, which
seems to be my theme. I figured black looks better
with my my new gray beard thing I got going.
Still not shaving it? Ryan, good for you, buddy. Are

(33:45):
you gonna shave it for the wedding? I am not.
I haven't talked to right. Ryan won't care. That's my son, Ryan,
he won't care.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
I supposed if it looks good, it'll be all right.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
Yeah, when is the wedding?

Speaker 2 (33:57):
It is not next week this weekend, but it's next weekend.
So this weekend I've got my anniversary and then next
weekend it's my son's wedding.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
And uh yeah, yeah, he's he's I mean they're really
working hard on this. Yeah, they're locked in. Yeah they've
they've been they've been together ten years, you know. And
yeah they've been together ten years, and and they're getting
but they're just putting a lot into the wedding. He's
doing a lot of stuff, And I'm like, Ryan, you
don't got to do that for these Like he you know,

(34:27):
he's working extra, you know, delivering door dash and all
this kind of stuff to make more money to do
more special things for the wedding, things that most people
wouldn't do. And I'm like, Ryan, you don't have to
do all that. But he was just like he wants
to have like a like a taco bar at the
end of the night, like after we after the reception,

(34:47):
you know, so people can sober up, you know. I'm like,
you don't got to do that. He wanted to get
like yeah, he wanted to get like a car to
drive people from the hotel to the wedding so they
wouldn't have to worry about driving. I'm like, right, want
to pay for all that, buddy, like you know, but
he wants it. And I'm you know, I know, like
I love him and I'm proud of him. He wants
it to be the best wedding ever. And uh let him,

(35:10):
don't you young? I know? You know now. I gave
him an option. There was there was a thing that
he wanted, and I said, listen, I will pay for
it if you want, or I'll just give you the
money and you could use it on your your honeymoon,
like you know, like which would you want to do?
You know? And he took him a couple of days
to get back to me, and he said, I think
we'll need it for the honeymoon. I'm like, okay, that's fine,

(35:32):
but Angel is going to be the.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
Dig where's the father of the bride?

Speaker 2 (35:37):
You know they're doing, they're doing so much. Don't do that. Please,
don't forgot, I don't don't make fun of that. I
ask him, Just not not with that. Yeah, I don't
make fun of them. There's super sweet people and it's
my uh my new. No, it's gonna know what you And.

Speaker 4 (35:55):
Then what he said though the kids, the kids busting
and has to add extra things.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Yeah, like that, all the things are covered and her
parents are doing a lot. So I don't want to
even make it seem like we're making fun of them.
But it's my new what would she be, she's my
daughter in law. I don't I don't want to make
fun of her. And anyway, yes, so.

Speaker 4 (36:14):
You're you're growing off the beard and we were talking
about getting it trimmed up for you. I need you
to hurry up and angry, angry grow your beard so
we can get the barber in here.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
All right, but before the end of the show, guys,
this is this is I haven't shaped for a month.
This is I trend it one time, a little bit.
This is the most I can do.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
We would have had I would have had a barber
in on Friday to clean up off beards and everything.
But I looked at Ryan yesterday on the YouTube and
I was like, Okay, that's it's not you can do it.
You wouldn't get it. You wouldn't get anything out of it.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
I wouldn't get anything.

Speaker 4 (36:48):
Either, I mean you would. Yeah, there's not much.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
They are guys.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
You're gonna be blown away.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
Well, you know, it's a guy show. So I think
the fit so I like it. Shave their their mustaches?

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Do you want?

Speaker 4 (37:05):
So we'll do it next week then right before the wedding.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
Okay, I like it. That's a good idea. All right,
all right, we'll take a break. When we come back,
it is trivia time, so you might want to get
on the line. The telephone number is four oh seven
nine one six one oh four one. We've had a
lot of great prizes for trivia, so we'll see if
if we what we have today when we come back.
