Speaker 1 (00:06):
Hey, So remember I can't text you back today. The
texting service is not working right for those of you
that are texting us. But people are asking why why
did I say that Mommy kissing Santa Claus was a
creepy song? When when I was a kid, I did
not understand that mommy was kissing dad. I always thought
(00:28):
Santa was getting all creepy with my mom and it
creeped me out. So when as a kid, I didn't
like that song, like, why is mommy kissing Santa Claus?
What's up with that? So that's why as a kid,
you know, as I grew up I started to understand
a song a little bit better.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Why didn't you think that mommy was just kissing Santa
Claus on the cheek?
Speaker 3 (00:45):
It never says anything in any other way.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
Just that's so funny. Shit, It's always been a tongue
kiss in my brain.
Speaker 5 (00:51):
Oh yeah, for sure they're making.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Out, people think, and that's why people think it's creepy.
But honestly, I saw mom.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
And dad kissing making out.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
I know what they They didn't stay making out, it
says I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus. That's because she
was thinking Santa Claus for the gifts and bringing yes
in my head.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Not in my head, that's not the way what was
going on, right, So that's why I thought that. Uh yeah,
So okay, now we just have to I have to
do a song that I need to intro and then
we need to do a wrap up and we're gonna
get Detective Barb.
Speaker 5 (01:23):
Correct.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Okay, all right, We're gonna do a rap with the
Detective Barb. That's cool for Christmas.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
And I gotta wrap up here like at the end
of the night, you know kind of thing. Uh and
then okay, all right, so uh and once again this
is for Magic one O seven seven and I believe
the song they have a Silent Night, but I'm just
gonna reference Elvis. What it's it's It's It's Silent Night
by Elvish.
Speaker 6 (01:46):
All right, so we're doing We're gonna we're gonna do
it too. We'll do salinit. You're doing Selen Night with Elvis,
and then we'll do the wrap up, right, yeah? Or
do you want to do that all in one, I'll
do I'll separate because I got them closed.
Speaker 7 (01:59):
Would be fun for everybody participate.
Speaker 8 (02:01):
In that one.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:02):
The clothes.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
So we're doing two separate ones.
Speaker 6 (02:04):
Yes, So the first one's going to be him doing
Silent Night real quick, yeah yeah. And then when you
do the clothes, everyone gets to say goodbye. Yeah, everyone
say goodbye, and then I've got a little ending to it. Okay,
it's perfect.
Speaker 7 (02:13):
Yeah, okay, yeah, three two to one.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Hey, it's Russ Rollins over Real Radio one of four
point one in the Monsters of the Morning. I gotta
tell you, in my household when I was a kid,
there were three things that came out at Christmas time. One,
obviously you had Santa Claus, then you got the Grinch,
and then at our house it was always Elvis.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
I always thought, you.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Know, when you had the three Kings that went to
give the Frankinsons and murder to the Baby Jesus, I
always thought one of the kings was Elvis, because in
our house it was always Elvis, and we would listen
to the album Blue Christmas. And obviously on the album
Blue Christmas you have the title Blue Christmas, but he
also does an incredible version of Silent Night. So here's
a little bit of Elvis Presley on Magic one O
(02:54):
seven point seven.
Speaker 8 (02:55):
You also thought it was Frankenstein and Murder, didn't it?
I did?
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (03:00):
I would, Oh gosh, perfect, cut it printed?
Speaker 5 (03:07):
You got it?
Speaker 7 (03:09):
Yeah, give me one second.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Okay, he's doing he's doing official business.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
Are there. We're almost done. This is good.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
See it all works out.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, it all works and we got breakfast. Hell yeah,
I can smell it, but I can't eat it.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
That's like wow, that's like.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
How did you guys? While he's doing all of this stuff?
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Did you get you have something at like in your
house when you were a kid that you guys, because
we always did that, Like my mom and dad had
a vinyl you know, like record player, and my dad
had it hooked up where we had speakers in.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
The ceiling, so it would be.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Like turn off the all the TVs and we would
play our Christmas albums and the Elvist one Blue Christmas
was always like the pinnacle that was that was the
big one.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
Did you have.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Anything like that, any tradition like that when you're kid? Ryan?
Speaker 10 (04:01):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (04:03):
No, I mean I guess the Kenny and g Christmas
album would come out and the Michael Bolton Christmas album
would come out. But other than that, no, we wouldn't
like shut down the world for Christmas.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Now, like when you would decorate the tree, that's what
we would be time to decorate the tree.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
We all did it together and we'd.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Listen to the eldest Christmas and whatever I think bing Crosby,
like all the old stuff. You know.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
I never like decorating my tree because my mom, Like
my mom lived in New Orleans for like seven minutes
one time, you know, like she just lived there for
like seven minutes. She was opening in El Touredo's in Louisiana,
and so they sent all the people from El Touredo's
and Altamont to Louisiana to go open this thing. Right, well,
this experience changed my mom's life. Okay, she was a
(04:48):
little lady from Massachusetts, Tralvi and Florida and then the
New Orleans. So she always we would have to have
a Maddi Gras Christmas tree every year, oh, with like
beads and stuff on it, and it was purple and
yellow and green beads with like Mardi gral.
Speaker 9 (05:04):
No.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
I hated it.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
I wanted the standard like crappy Christmas ornaments like all
over the place, Like I couldn't hang my Christmas ornaments
up that I made in school, you know, the crappy ones. Huh,
because it wasn't Malti Gral enough.
Speaker 8 (05:18):
So I evern't hate Mardi Gras.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
I hate that stupid tree and that makes me mad
every time I see Mardi Gral colors.
Speaker 8 (05:25):
That's my Christmas tradition. Oh wow, and I know your listening, mom,
burn it down.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Oh did I say did I say one of magic?
One of seven point seven? Did I say point seven?
Someone said I said point seven? Okay, they need to rely.
Speaker 8 (05:38):
It was weird because you went Uno Santo Punta trace
so Russ.
Speaker 6 (05:41):
This is the this is the album cover of the tradition.
This is the album that we break out when we
were kids. Yeah, and it's.
Speaker 7 (05:49):
Uh, what is that?
Speaker 6 (05:50):
It's Santa Claus and it's the group is called fun
and Viejo Viejo Gordo is called by three of those.
Speaker 7 (06:00):
I can't read it now.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (06:03):
So it was the Spanish like a trio that was
doing all these Spanish songs.
Speaker 7 (06:06):
So it was that album.
Speaker 6 (06:07):
And then back in the day again, this is my
dad being a vinyl guy readers digest like when he
was in the Air Force and everything. They did this
record set and it was like like I want to say,
like nine or ten pieces of vinyl, and it had
all the Christmas songs on this big record set and
we would these are those were the two record sets
(06:29):
that we would break out for that and then that's
what wise we're decorating our Christmas tree. Y. Yeah it
was all vinyl, but that still has they're awesome.
Speaker 7 (06:37):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
We definitely listened to Bing Crosby.
Speaker 8 (06:41):
We listened to love his search Engine.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
It was a weird turn that that dude took into
the search engine field, but so good.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
I can't with you anyway. But we would watch The
White Christmas. We would watch the Frosty the snow Man.
We would watch all you Know You're gonna shoot your
eye out. We watch like all those type of things
that we would watch and put on while we decorated
the Christmas tree. And the Christmas tree was all of
our decorations. So I had the Christmas tree that you
(07:09):
always wanted. We're the stuff that you made. You hung
it up and yeah, that's.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
Although she did let me do that one year where
we put up all my stuff that I'd made over
the years and it was crap, and she was right
I'm tree was better money.
Speaker 7 (07:20):
Yes, I was just gonna say, let's get that close.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Okay, Yeah, you tell me when you're ready.
Speaker 7 (07:25):
Uh three two?
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Hey, As the holidays roll in with all the Christmas
cookies and all the chaos and the oversize, you know,
inflatable lawn decorations and all that kind of stuff we
hear at, the monsters, just want to send you a
little love and a little laughter. This is the time
of year that, you know, a lot of times people
are arguing about certain things.
Speaker 5 (07:44):
We don't want to do. No, I gotta do it again.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
Boo, come on, big Rush, you got it.
Speaker 8 (07:51):
One take big Rush.
Speaker 7 (07:52):
Take two, three three.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
Don't call me big Rush moron.
Speaker 8 (07:59):
That's his new nick by the way, Angela, he likes it.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Oh big Russ, big Russy, big Russie.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
You can call me then.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Oh God, I bets you'll stop now.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
I get you ready? You ready?
Speaker 7 (08:15):
Three?
Speaker 8 (08:16):
Two?
Speaker 5 (08:16):
One?
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Hey, is the holidays roll in with the Christmas cookies
and the chaos and all the oversize inflatable lawn decorations
and all that stuff we hear at the monsters. Just
want to send you a little love and a little laughter.
This time of year, you know, as a funny way
of reminding us all that we're all kind of on
the same side, right, we all really are, So, you know,
have a little laughter, have a little bit of fun
for the holidays. Let's spend time with some good hearted,
(08:38):
wonderful people, and let's all make a magic time together.
From our family here at Real Radio one to four
point one. Merry Christmas, Happy holidays all from the Monsters
of the Morning and Real Radio one of four.
Speaker 8 (08:49):
Point one Trump twenty twenty eight. What can you cut
that out?
Speaker 6 (08:57):
We could collectively hear though, I could edit that part,
and we collectively here we could all say Merry Christmas
to everybody.
Speaker 7 (09:03):
Yeah, okay, so no, we're good.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
So just you know, and guys.
Speaker 1 (09:12):

Speaker 4 (09:38):

Speaker 8 (09:44):
Why did you not use that earlier edited together?
Speaker 1 (09:48):

He's got to do all the editing.
Speaker 7 (09:53):

Speaker 8 (09:54):

Speaker 7 (09:59):
Just you'll look it out, Bud?
Speaker 8 (10:03):

Speaker 5 (10:07):
Are we so?
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Are we good? Now?
Speaker 5 (10:08):
Is that all we need to do? Are we going
to get barber or not?
Speaker 6 (10:11):
Wait to hear back from barb and then we'll record
hers when she calls. And then once we have that,
I might grab uh you know who's here? Individual? Oh
your wine?
Speaker 7 (10:23):
D Evin lady?
Speaker 5 (10:23):
We cant asked her we need one more?
Speaker 1 (10:25):

Speaker 6 (10:25):

Speaker 5 (10:26):
And then Savannah was supposed to do one by the people.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Ask her why Savannah is ill today? We tried to
get her to come in, Yes station, she was still sick,
so we can't.
Speaker 8 (10:33):
She has a Christmas stye, she.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
My Christmas night. She gotta go back to the doctor.
That sky came back. I didn't know they'd come back
like that.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yeah, and they're not fun at all and it hurts
and it itches.
Speaker 8 (10:49):
Yeah, Hey, well you how did you get a sty though?
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Like it's it's it's like when you touch your eye
too much.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
I feel like when you're stressed out.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
So like if you're using a lot of like Peyton
green on there every day and it's getting a little
sloppy because she's not.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Soppy that color.
Speaker 7 (11:05):
What are you doing, dude?
Speaker 5 (11:06):
You trying to burn it all down?
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Hey?
Speaker 1 (11:08):
Are you? Are you?
Speaker 5 (11:09):
Like?
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Like last year, even though we're on the radio every
single day and I have been for thirty something years,
I sat and listened to ourselves on another because I
went to hear us on Magic Window seven seven to
hear us do the Christmas thing. Last year, I sat
and listened to it on the radio. I'm yes you did,
Yes they did. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (11:25):
You know what the neat thing is is that?
Speaker 6 (11:27):
I mean, so we do music over the weekends, and
you could voice track an hour or two every weekend
if you want to.
Speaker 8 (11:34):
Yeah, but it's on this stupid station. I don't want that.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
I'm on this station all the time.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Too much. Russ on this Saturday night.
Speaker 8 (11:41):
Here's Russ this night. Okay, seven pm.
Speaker 9 (11:44):
Clicking on, Oh it's Russ on there music starts playing
it with Christmas music. Guess what it's time to get
down to all right, me and the old the old
wife for Rooney getting down to myself on Christmas, say.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Too much Russ here already. I don't need more Russ,
but different station and just I don't know. For some reason,
it was kind of cool to hear.
Speaker 8 (12:03):
I just feel like we took him over, you know,
like yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
When I tracked, I used to every once in a
while and go, wait a minute, I think it's this time.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
I can hear myself all right like that.
Speaker 5 (12:15):
We gotta take a little break.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
We come back, we'll find out what's going with Monster

Speaker 5 (14:22):
Probably? Yeah? Probably?
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Yeah. I think I think your your your uncles have
been in here, Your dad has been in here.
Speaker 5 (14:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
He was so cool, I mean, obviously honored. The guy's
a legend, right. Uh. And and I know you've got
the television show with your dad.
Speaker 10 (14:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
The name of the show again is Papa's House. Papa's House.
I've seen a couple of episodes. It's funny, it's great.
Speaker 11 (14:44):
It's fun We we only got to do one season
of it though, Yeah, but it was still a blast.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
What was it like working with your dad?
Speaker 7 (14:50):
Uh?
Speaker 11 (14:51):
You ever had like a catheter put in without anesthesia?
Speaker 5 (14:56):
Difficult?
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Your heart or No?
Speaker 10 (14:59):
It's great, great, I'm just making Yeah.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
Yeah, it was great.
Speaker 10 (15:02):
It was fun.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
We laughed.
Speaker 11 (15:04):
He was very creative. It was cool being in an
element with him. Yeah, and so we just like improvised
a lot. We took what we loved and it was
cool having like a bunch of family members being part
of it. Like Sean was writing on it. Wow, Kim
was writing on it. I had some cousins that were there.
It was just it was great.
Speaker 7 (15:22):
It was great.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
You know, I always think about this, What is it
like when you're in the family and you're growing up
and everything and you see all the success and everything.
I Mean, for some people they were looking like, oh
my god, there's so much pressure I have to do this.
Other people might think, oh, well, you know, like like
I can't wait to do this. What was it like,
because I mean, you obviously have so much success in
your family. Are there family members that are not in entertainment?
(15:45):
I probably, but you don't know if there's so many
of us. Yeah, yeah, we have.
Speaker 10 (15:51):
We have some some regulars.
Speaker 11 (15:53):
But also like they're just as funny as the people
that are on. It's just they chose not to go
down that road, right, So yeah, we have a bunch
of people that don't want to have nothing to do
with the industry, but they're they're super funny.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
As you were a kid, what attracted you to it?
Like what made you go, Okay, I gotta do this time?
Speaker 10 (16:12):
I remember because I wanted to be an animator. Growing up.
Speaker 11 (16:14):
I used to draw all the time. And then one
day I accidentally opened one of my dad's checks, like
I'm gonna do that, but yeah, No, it was really
just seeing like my dad and watching how how much
fun he had with this art form, and I was
just very curious about it. I started writing first, then
I started doing stand up, then I started acting.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
What do you first remember? Do you first remember that
the television stuff?
Speaker 5 (16:40):
The stand up?
Speaker 7 (16:41):
Like?
Speaker 5 (16:41):
What is it you remember first? Your dad doing?
Speaker 1 (16:43):
You know?
Speaker 11 (16:43):
Because yeah, so I didn't even I didn't even watch
his stand up until I was I started doing stand up, right,
And but I used to watch them on a Living Color.
Speaker 10 (16:53):
I used to go down to set sometimes.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
How old were you when that was on?
Speaker 10 (16:56):
Got to be like about eight eight years old?
Speaker 7 (17:00):
Young.
Speaker 11 (17:00):
I used to be with Rosie Perez used to she
was like the uh she was like the choreographer for
the Flag Girls, right. She used to just walk me
around and like feed me treats and you know, molest
me a little bit. No, she was great, but it
was a lot of fun just being around that element.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
And did did you did you get the jokes back then?
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Like ho the cloud?
Speaker 11 (17:22):
Yeah, I was just I was just happy to be
around and you know, happy that my dad was working
and uh, and everybody was laughing.
Speaker 10 (17:27):
It was so much fun. Yeah, you know you know
that place? Do you remember that show?
Speaker 5 (17:31):
Oh my god, yeah it was.
Speaker 11 (17:33):
It was in the beginning of the show. Keenan would
come out of this like the thing. It looked like
it was a basement or something like that. And then
I actually went in there and there's nothing in there,
no steps.
Speaker 10 (17:44):
I felt so betrayed.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Uh you call them uncle, is it?
Speaker 5 (17:47):
Uncle Keenan, Uncle Keenan.
Speaker 7 (17:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (17:49):
I called them all uncle, you know, like I'll call
even I call Marlon uncle.
Speaker 7 (17:53):
Marlon.
Speaker 11 (17:53):
You're only ten years older than me, right, Yeah, but yeah,
just out of respect, you know.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Yeah. And I'm just just just let you know, like
and you were obviously you seem to be the exact
same way. All your family every time they come in here,
super respectful, take time, but to take time to come
in here and actually promote something.
Speaker 5 (18:09):
A lot of guys don't do that anymore.
Speaker 10 (18:11):
I mean a lot of guys don't do this anymore.
Speaker 11 (18:13):
You guys are crushing it, you know, so I really
appreciate you guys having me on.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Of course, it takes a lot to put up with
this one and that one.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
So the stand up.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
You know, when you've got the name, last name, Waynees,
I mean, is it is it? Is it a I
would have to think it's a positive? Is there any
way that's been a negative for you at all? People
expect more?
Speaker 9 (18:34):
So.
Speaker 11 (18:36):
I remember when I first started out, Like right now,
I don't that doesn't I don't have to deal with that.
But when I first started out, I used to go
under a different name. I used to go under Kyle Green.
Speaker 10 (18:46):
Why yeah, just because I wanted to get my own Like.
Speaker 5 (18:49):
I've never understood that.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
You know, I respect it, but I'm like, man, if
you got the name, I would use it. But you
don't want people to say, oh, it's all the way
as you walk out.
Speaker 11 (18:57):
I remember one time I walked out when I started
using my actual name. I walked out and before I
even got to the mic, somebody was like.
Speaker 10 (19:04):
You better be funny, like yo, daddy.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
I was like.
Speaker 11 (19:06):
Yeah, yeah, I was like all right, and I wound
up crushing but anyways, it was still like that's what
I did.
Speaker 10 (19:13):
I wanted to avoid. And you look and you look
like you're just like just.
Speaker 5 (19:17):
Like it's hard to say from different name.
Speaker 11 (19:21):
Someone made a blue doll of me, Like he's getting
hurt too, Like we really look like twin.
Speaker 6 (19:26):
You are your father's son man hair, but it's bigger.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
But here's the thing. Everybody loves your dad. So that's
a positive.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Why I totally get what he's saying, because like I
just stay on comedies. Yeah, And so like when people
introduce me from the like if I'm just doing an
open mic and they're like this guy's from the radio
is so funny, blah blah blah, and I'm just there
to like work out material for five minutes, Like don't
do that. So like there's there's something to be said
for like a level of anonymity.
Speaker 11 (19:54):
For all this absolutely, so you can just kind of,
you know, you can just figure out what you're doing,
figure out and not have that sure to have to deliver,
you know. But now I don't care because I know
I can do. I've been new standing for a long
time now, so it doesn't bother me.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
So now that you've done a television show, is that
is that? Is that bug there? Do you want to
do more of that? Make movies? More movies?
Speaker 10 (20:16):
So I've so. I literally just came from Atlanta. We
just shot.
Speaker 11 (20:20):
I just finished shooting Scary movie six. I don't know
which one they are, so it's the ones that my family. Yes,
So that was a lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Who was who was who was.
Speaker 5 (20:30):
The driver of that one? First?
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Who?
Speaker 5 (20:31):
Whose movie was that? Is that?
Speaker 10 (20:33):
So that's scary movie?
Speaker 11 (20:34):
That's Sean Shawn's Marlon Keenan, right, So you know uncle Sean.
He comes up with pretty much all the ideas. He
came up with, like scary movie, don't be a menace? Uh,
white chicks like from his brain and then they develop
them and Keenan usually directs and uh.
Speaker 10 (20:51):
And it was a lot of fun.
Speaker 7 (20:52):
I did.
Speaker 10 (20:53):
I did this scary movie. It was so much fun.
Speaker 11 (20:56):
They showed me footage of stuff that they had already
shot shot. Sean shot a scene with Regina Hall, very
funny uh actress, and it was so funny it made
my head hurt. So I'm really excited to see like
how this movie come, Like how they how they're gonna
edit this movie because it's so funny. Everybody's so funny,
and I'm excited for everybody to say it.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
In the family, who was treated as the head dog
of the way Keenan? Keenan Really, I would, I would,
I would think I would think your dad.
Speaker 11 (21:27):
No, Keenan's the oldest old set everything up, Like he's
the one that went and kind of paved the way.
Speaker 10 (21:33):
He did that movie, what is it called.
Speaker 11 (21:36):
Hollywood Shuffle right with Robert Towns, and then he did
so he did these movies and then put my dad
in them, put Sean in them.
Speaker 10 (21:45):
So he's the guy, I think.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
Because I loved In Living Color so much, I always
thought it was Dame.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
I always thought it was your your father.
Speaker 11 (21:51):
No, No, my dad was like he was like a
part of it. Yeah, But Keenan came up with In
Living Color. He's the one that pitched it to Fox
was like all right, and and oh yeah, he's the
he's the godfather of the of the family.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
And I mean, I know you were a kid at
the time, but it was it was huge. It was like, oh,
this is a cooler Saturday Night Live?
Speaker 10 (22:09):
Yeah, definitely.
Speaker 7 (22:11):
Is there a moment there where, like when you're going
there that you.
Speaker 6 (22:13):
Have that is there a moment where you that as
everyone that's the parts of the family that are interested
in going into show business. Is there a sit down
or is there a meeting or is there a conversation
that you have with Keenan Oh?
Speaker 11 (22:29):
I mean that's that's a cool thing about the family
is that they're so encouraging, you know, like no one
ever tells you that you can't do something. Uh, And
they'll give you advice if you want it. If not,
they they're just happy to see you spread your wings.
They're not They're not like.
Speaker 10 (22:43):
Don't miss up our name, you know what I mean? No,
I mean you're you. You naturally do it just because.
Speaker 11 (22:50):
He's so loving and so you know and caring. But
otherwise it's like it's just a big family, big old family,
and you.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
Know, you don't hear about it, and like I could
be you know, I don't.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
You don't ever hear about a Wayiams rather having a
drug problem or a drinking problem or hey, nobody's business no, yeah,
or even ego problem, Like you never hear about any
of that. I mean, is that the raising you think
like your mom and dad? Is that is that where
you give credit to or.
Speaker 10 (23:19):
Yeah, I definitely think I give I give that credit.
Speaker 11 (23:22):
I also give credit to the fact that there's so
many people doing the same job that you know, and
we're always ready to kind of like take the air
out of each other, like all right, relax.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
You know.
Speaker 11 (23:31):
That's the cool thing about being in a family full
of entertainers is that nobody here like I can I
can do a hit movie, be number one of the
box office.
Speaker 10 (23:39):
They're like, been there, done that? Yeah, oh yeah, I
guess you're right.
Speaker 11 (23:42):
So it helps you stay humble just having other people
that look like you doing the same thing you're doing.
Speaker 5 (23:48):
Do they do?
Speaker 1 (23:48):
You have a cousin that's really really funny but just
doesn't want to give him the business really Yeah?
Speaker 10 (23:52):
Yeah, I mean he's he's actually in the business. He's
a writer though.
Speaker 11 (23:56):
Craig Waians super funny dude, one of the funny I
always call him the funniest really, he's yeah, very very funny.
Speaker 10 (24:02):
My brother's really funny. He's a writer as well.
Speaker 11 (24:04):
So there's a lot of people that are not necessarily
in front of the camera, but they're like equally as funny,
if not funnier.
Speaker 5 (24:09):
So why is that lot of girls?
Speaker 10 (24:11):
Yeah, a lot of girls.
Speaker 11 (24:13):
Kim Wayne Shante, Wayne's who I love. We started doing
stand up together.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Are they nervous about getting in front of the cameras
nerves or yeah?
Speaker 10 (24:21):
Maybe maybe not, Maybe.
Speaker 7 (24:23):
It's different parts of the industry.
Speaker 11 (24:24):
Absolutely, Yeah, Like they don't like being the center of attention, right,
you know, you have to go and like promote stuff,
and they don't like necessarily doing that.
Speaker 10 (24:32):
And they just kind of like their anonymity. Like you said,
so I respect when.
Speaker 7 (24:36):
You guys shooting the next season of Shrinking, Oh, we.
Speaker 10 (24:39):
Already shot it. It comes out of January. It comes
out January something I don't know.
Speaker 11 (24:43):
But then we start shooting in May next season.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Awesome.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
That's mildly think that you're here because I love you
as Derek number two. That's such a good show, like
and it's like kind of you know, like how Ted
Lasto is in time where we need just like a
show to be nice, you know, Like it's so good
to have that watching you on there with everybody else.
Speaker 8 (25:06):
It's it's so funny. I love it.
Speaker 5 (25:08):
What was it like having Michael J. Fox on set?
Speaker 11 (25:11):
I wasn't there for you were no, man, I wish
When I found that out, I was just like I
saw pictures of it. I took some pictures of it
with it was like him and uh and Harrison. Yeah,
it's it's so much fun.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
Man. From what I've read, like Harrison Ford was very
protective out of him, you know, to make sure that
he was treated, you know with the up most respected Yeah.
Speaker 11 (25:28):
And and you know, like Marty McFly, dude, Like you know,
Marty McFly and frigging Indiana Jones together, it's crazy.
Speaker 5 (25:36):
Okay, what's it like working with Harrison Ford?
Speaker 1 (25:38):
And it's a legend.
Speaker 10 (25:39):
I mean he's eighty three. Yeah, you know, he's uh,
but he he's like really sharp. He's really you know,
like he's quick on his feet. Yeah, I'm lying, he's
actually he's eighty three as well. His lines and stuff,
he's great.
Speaker 11 (25:55):
He's great. He makes a lot of jokes. He's really
fun to be around.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
And do you get nervous working with someone who's a
huge star like that or you're over that by now.
Speaker 11 (26:02):
When I first, like my first scene with him, I
was like, oh, my gosh, I'm I'm acting across Harrison.
But then he's just such a goofy dude, Like he
likes to make jokes like I mean, the longest jokes
of all time, butline is.
Speaker 10 (26:15):
Usually worth like that usually worth, it's usually worth. It's
usually really worth it.
Speaker 11 (26:19):
But it does take a couple of scenes for him
to get to the actual punchline.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
And that's one of these shows have been nominated for forms.
Speaker 5 (26:27):
And stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Do you do you get?
Speaker 5 (26:29):
Have you been to the Emmys?
Speaker 10 (26:30):
I have been to the Emmy.
Speaker 5 (26:32):
Was that experience.
Speaker 10 (26:34):
I got to present with? This was years ago?
Speaker 11 (26:36):
It was with what's his name, the guy from Dawson's Creek,
the main guy, James, James Vanderbeek. Yeah, so it is
he and I and we were we presented some award
and it was just really cool, like dressing up and
I brought my wife and that's very I thought she was.
Speaker 10 (26:50):
Cool for like a week.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
Has anyone ever like.
Speaker 10 (26:53):
She didn't like yell at me for a whole week.
She was like, I'll let you slide.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Have people ever missed mistake you for your dad?
Speaker 5 (27:00):
Have they ever done.
Speaker 10 (27:00):
That annoy you?
Speaker 11 (27:02):
Here's the thing, like like That's what I think, like
famous fleeting, you know what I mean, Like people like
care but they don't like care care. I was at
the airport the other day in l A. And this
guy comes up to me. He got his phone out,
he's excited.
Speaker 10 (27:15):
He's like, dude, He's like.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
Hey, hey, you're one of the Marlins, right.
Speaker 11 (27:18):
I was like, I'm technically.
Speaker 10 (27:25):
A Damon's but.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Marlins.
Speaker 10 (27:28):
I was like, all right, I just appreciate the love.
It was love, but it was just like, what are
you talking about?
Speaker 1 (27:33):
But Marlin's brother?
Speaker 5 (27:35):
Is it l a home? Is that where you live?
Speaker 1 (27:37):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, but you didn't grow up there, right,
I grew up there.
Speaker 10 (27:42):
I bounced around spot like whenever my dad would make
more money, we'd go to like a nicer area. Yeah,
and uh and get I get worse haircuts.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
Where was the rest of the family from. It wasn't
like always from New York, New York.
Speaker 10 (27:53):
Actually corn in Vermont, which is weird.
Speaker 7 (27:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (27:56):
Yeah, yeah, there's like eight black people there was.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
Different mustaches once the Marlins left and then yeah, my
dad and his family.
Speaker 10 (28:09):
They were from New York.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Uh okay, yeah, what is your favorite part of the business?
As somebody who does so many things. I mean, is
it the stand up, is it the movies, writing, the writing?
Speaker 11 (28:19):
I would say stand up probably because stand up is
like immediate gratification.
Speaker 10 (28:24):
It's also like unfiltered me.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
You know.
Speaker 11 (28:26):
I get to just like say what I think is
funny and people react, you know, Whereas if you're acting,
you have to wait an entire freaking year before people
even see yeah, and you don't know what they're going
to keep. You don't know what you know, You don't
really have that much control. Where the stand up you
have control.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
I always felt like when I started working with actors
after taking like acting classes and whatnot, like like it
was kind of sad for that. I felt bad for
them because you don't get to go out every night
and do your craft. You can audition and send tapes
all day, but you're not really getting the thing that
you love all the time.
Speaker 11 (28:55):
Yes, it's hard to refine your your work like as
consistently as it is for stand up, so like you
can tinker with like I just I just love it.
I just love the energy, Like you put out the
joke and then you get the laughs back, that feel.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
You get the feedback imediat.
Speaker 11 (29:10):
The feedback immediately, and it's very intimate. You get to
see kind of what people are actually laughing at because
you have like social media where it seems like everybody's
getting canceled. But if you go and you do stand
up nobody, if you're funny, they don't care what you say.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
Right. Yeah, damon wayne' Junior here with us. He's gonna
be at the Funny Bone all week. In long angle
question for mister Wayne.
Speaker 6 (29:30):
We got two shows today at the Funny Bone and
then two shows tomorrow. Make sure that you go to
Orlando dot funny mote dot com to purchase your tickets.
We've shared that before that there's other outlets that or
something the tickets and they're backing up the prices. You're
gonna get authentic tickets from the website. I was wondering
if you could share some information or some insight. So
Marlon has always said that he's got an Oscar women
(29:51):
winning performance on your dad's movie. Oh and it's a
movie that I don't know what like they were from
line the smile. Yeah, that that he will never release
it or he wasn't going to release it, or is
there any chance of ever being released.
Speaker 10 (30:06):
I would love for that to be released.
Speaker 7 (30:07):
Have you ever seen it?
Speaker 10 (30:08):
I saw it? Yeah, yeah, I saw it.
Speaker 11 (30:10):
I was my dad had a screening one time and
I was sitting next to Dave Chappelle and a bunch
of other other comedians, and then I remember after the
movie was over, Chappelle went up to my dad and
he was like, this is the best movie I've ever
seen in my life. He literally was like, yeah, So
I would love for it to come out of the vault.
(30:30):
My dad has so much stuff in the vault. He's
like all his specials. He has all like these sketches
that we did together, and so, I mean, one day,
you know, but it definitely Kat Williams is in its
super funny in it. I think Gary Owen isn't. Like
there's so many comedians that were like in the beginning
of their careers crushing it.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
So next Thursday is Thanksgiving? What is a Wayne's Thanksgiving? Like,
do you guys all get together?
Speaker 5 (30:58):
Do you yeah? Families or yeah?
Speaker 11 (31:00):
I mean it depends, it depends on on who's who's uh,
who's throwing it. Usually we all get either with Shawn's
house or Marlon's house, but you know, we might do
the small versions, you know, where it's just like separate families.
Speaker 10 (31:15):
But you know, I love it when we all get together.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
I mean, are there are there certain guys that try
to out out funny and cut up during Thanksgiving?
Speaker 5 (31:23):
I mean like did you?
Speaker 7 (31:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (31:24):
Man, that's what we find time to, like, like even
beyond like the holidays, Like we just find time to
meet up and make each other laugh, you know, all
the time. So every that's just how we communicate. We
communicate in joke for them, right, all we do is
talk and make each other laugh and do bits, and
it's just, you know a lot of fun. My face
is always hurting, My head hurts from laughing.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
That's a good life, man, it's a great life. That's
a good life. Angelique question for Damon.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
Yeah, who, Since you grew up surrounded by celebrities and icons,
is there someone that you haven't worked with that you
really want to work with?
Speaker 10 (32:00):
That is a good question. I would love to work with.
Speaker 11 (32:06):
So my favorite, the favorite, my favorite movie that I've
ever done was The Other Guys. Right, So I did
this movie with Will Ferrell. It's so funny, it was
so much fun. And so I remember shooting that movie.
Adam McKay directed, and that was like the epitome for
(32:26):
me of like working with stars that I'm obsessed with,
Like I love Will Ferrell, love Adam McKay, And I
remember the first night that the first day that I
was shooting, Adam McKay come up to me and Will
and they said that, did you know that our inspiration
for being in comedy was I'm gonna get you sucka.
Speaker 10 (32:43):
And then they quoted like the whole movie to me,
the whole.
Speaker 11 (32:48):
Night, right the whole day, and they were just doing
different quotes about the movie. And so I say all
that to say that I kind of already worked with
the people that I would want to work with, but
I like work with like a Denzel or like you
know what I mean, somebody who doesn't necessarily do comedy
that much, but if they did a comedy, it would
be cool to.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Be would you be willing to go into their realm?
Speaker 10 (33:10):
Jana reeves, that would be fun to do something with him.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
Yeah, you said, well, would you be willing to go
into like their realm to take like to sit back
a little bit from the funny and do you a
little bit more serious?
Speaker 11 (33:22):
Okay, Okay, Yeah, maybe yeah, I would. I mean, whatever
opportunity comes my way, I'm willing to take it, and
I would love to do a movie with Denzel But.
Speaker 10 (33:33):
Of course, yeah, he's just fantastic.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
I just recently saw that at the Eddie Murphy Netflix thing,
and in that Dave Chappelle talks about there, he says
something to the effect of everybody else that I talked
to there when they ask him who they're inspired by,
it's always Richer Pryor, But.
Speaker 5 (33:48):
For me it was Eddie Murphy.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
But from you're coming of our family of everybody's funny like,
were you inspired by anyone outside of the family or
was it just the family inspired you? Oh?
Speaker 10 (33:59):
Absolutely?
Speaker 11 (34:00):
My my top five would doesn't even include anybody in
my family? Oh wow, Yeah, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Patrese O'Neill.
Who else Chappelle And then there's another dead guy I
forgot the.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Other you're looking at our Hall of Fame, John Witherspoon,
that's that's one of our.
Speaker 10 (34:21):
Oh John, shout out John Man.
Speaker 5 (34:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (34:24):
Yeah, but those yeah.
Speaker 11 (34:25):
Those are my my top my top people who are
just like brutally honest about kind of how they see
the world. Yeah, and you know, George Carlin is like
a prophet basically, sure for sure.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Yeah, well I know you've got television this st up
to do, and you've got you've got places to go
with them. Thank you so much for taking Thank you
for taking time to come in here. We certainly do
appreciate it. And good luck this weekend. I'm sure you're
gonna sell out. It's at the Funny Bone this weekend,
and uh, quite a pleasure. Thank you.
Speaker 10 (34:51):
Likewise, man, thank you guys.
Speaker 5 (34:52):

Speaker 6 (36:46):
What's the actress on that visit them two four nine
Florida four thirty six, So that's at that food hall
and again that's the go to the website Central Florida
Saves dot com. And right now we have a fifty
dollars gift certificate that you can get for twenty bucks
at Antika would Fire Pizzeria and Market. Again, congrat or
(37:07):
thank you to those guys for jumping on Monster Sports.
Speaker 5 (37:09):
Yeah they're awesome. Thank you guys.
Speaker 6 (37:10):
We got to try their pizza, so we have had
the pizza that they came in for fe fat, Russ, forgetful.
Speaker 5 (37:16):
And I need more pizza.
Speaker 6 (37:18):
Angel Those are all those are all perfect reasons to
have them come back.
Speaker 7 (37:22):
And I totally agree with you. So we had an NFL.
Speaker 6 (37:24):
I actually no, I won't even start with the NFL
f that Orlando Magic. Orlando Magic put it on the
LA Clippers last night one to one on one.
Speaker 8 (37:35):
We don't bet against their home team.
Speaker 6 (37:37):
Exactly, Magic handle business here at home. Now we're nine
and seven.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
But you didn't bet on them. You didn't put them
in the parlay, did you? No?
Speaker 4 (37:44):
Because if I was going to bet on that game,
I would have bet on.
Speaker 8 (37:47):
The Clippers beat the Magic. So I'm glad they didn't have.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
We had again, strong game from our guys. So Franz
had sixteen trips and de Silva had twenty, Wendel Carter
Junior had thirteen, Desmond Bain had thirty. Team Jalen Suggs
had twelve and Jamal Kane had ten. Richardson had ten.
I mean, we just had across the board, just an
even effort from everybody. Anthony Black sixteen, Jeff Howard sixteen,
(38:13):
Golga had fifteen. So again just a strong, strong performance.
That's a solid team effort as they beat the LA Clippers.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
You know they all have in common, they all do,
every single one of them.
Speaker 5 (38:25):
That's why they're in such good shape.
Speaker 4 (38:27):
Taichi Rush was just googling one time ty Cheese and
then now he's flooded with these ends.
Speaker 6 (38:36):
Our next game is tomorrow. The Knicks are coming into town.
Orlando Magic fans, you know how this goes down. So
let's step up and make it uncomfortable, not for just
the team, for these Nick fans that has come in
and try to scoop up our tickets, or these Nick
fans that have moved to Orlando but don't want to
(38:58):
relinquish their fandom to the New York Knicks. It's our house.
It's the Key of Center. That's the Orlando Magic's house.
And if you're not a fan of the Orlando Magic,
then you should be uncomfortable there. It should be loud,
we should annoy you so that you never come back again.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
Half the people hear from New York.
Speaker 12 (39:20):
Anyway, guess what, I don't care, and she.
Speaker 7 (39:31):
Channeled I don't care.
Speaker 6 (39:33):
All right, then we'll go to the NFL game that
happened last night. It's Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime,
and we've been doing this thing Angelicue. It's the Angel
and Ryan Parlay of the day, So you know the parlay,
grab a couple of games and you know, put together
and if you win, if you got to get them
all right to win, but you get one wrong, specially
(39:56):
like the first one of the night, then the rest
of the especially when the rest of the games came
through and we told him to go again Bills and
I was like, hey, man, do you want to gamble?
And He's like, no, I don't want a game. I
want to take the favorite. And I was like no,
but the Houston's coming on. Their defense is coming on.
And I had Texas text and they're like, oh, they
don't have their quarterback.
Speaker 7 (40:17):
I don't matter.
Speaker 8 (40:18):
They didn't have their quarterback.
Speaker 7 (40:19):
I like, does it matter?
Speaker 1 (40:21):
The defense?
Speaker 6 (40:21):
So the defense is what what? They sacked Josh Allen?
Do you want to know how many times they sacked
Josh Allen?
Speaker 5 (40:29):
Seven?
Speaker 8 (40:29):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (40:30):
Seven times?
Speaker 7 (40:31):
They put him on his ass?
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Damn seven times?
Speaker 5 (40:35):
Yeah, So you did not win the parlay.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
We didn't.
Speaker 4 (40:41):
He just said like next time, I'm right, I'm picking them.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
And I'm like, okay, So now Angel gets to pick them.
Speaker 7 (40:47):
Well, no, not all of them, just not all.
Speaker 8 (40:48):
But there's an argument he now has to be a differ.
Speaker 7 (40:52):
Than the Tigers.
Speaker 1 (40:53):
To me, Hey, so this weekend, when it comes to football,
we got college football.
Speaker 5 (40:58):
Is it the fam you game?
Speaker 1 (41:00):
It's usually a Thanksgiving week Oh that'd be next weekend, right, yeah,
b c U and Fam You. That's like a big
game that they do. I thought, no, that's always a
Thanksgiving thing, the two Uh.
Speaker 4 (41:13):
I thought that's what by Black College Reunion of the
thing because those two teams play each other New Years.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
I thought it was a Thanksgiving thing.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
No, I thought the big games here at Camping World.
Speaker 6 (41:25):
That's that's New Year's plays, cooking tomorrow tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
There you go.
Speaker 6 (41:33):
People thought, okay, I never mind, that's a Camping World.
Speaker 5 (41:40):
That's a big game. Who you're taking it? Can you
put that in a parlay?
Speaker 7 (41:46):
We could?
Speaker 4 (41:47):
Yeah, okay, I don't know anything about those teams.
Speaker 7 (41:51):
Yeah, it wasn't on my radar either.
Speaker 3 (41:52):
So it's happening here in Florida.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
You live here in Florida, right, so you should know
exactly what's happening in.
Speaker 5 (42:00):
A lot to a lot of people. All my friends
always were like into.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
This again, it's called supporting your state.
Speaker 6 (42:07):
The teams are the games that we typically we haven't
really done.
Speaker 1 (42:10):
Any college sports in our How about Florida? Florida State?
Is that this weekend? Or next weekend for Thanksgiving. Why
are you all of a sudden ask about all the
college games? We've got NFL games, NHL games, and NBA games,
And all you want to ask me about is stuff
that we don't ever talk about, which is college.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
Tomorrow there's a UF game University of Florida. Yeah, okay
in Gainesville. I only know that is going to work it.
Speaker 7 (42:32):
And that's Monster Sports.
Speaker 5 (42:33):
Thank you so much. We take a break. When we
come back, let's try to get hold of the detective bar.
Speaker 1 (42:38):
We'll get hold of her so we can let her
introduce here, mister Grinch. That's perfect for her. Uh and uh.
And then also in the next hour, we'll have the
wind even in here and tell you what kind of
wines are good to have for Thanksgiving, trying to classy
up the place a little bit of them. Yeah and uh.
And we've got more big dumb fun So don't go anywhere.
You're listening to the monsters in the morning,
