A lot of people listen to us on the iHeartRadio app.

all worked out.
Speaker 1 (03:15):

Speaker 3 (03:15):
It is a Thursday, big day. Yesterday we're gonna give
you the totals, give you and let you know what
happened yesterday with the bike drive getting ready for this
Saturday night. I got the TSO Trans Siberian Orchestra, I
tell you about that. A lot of stuff going on today,
so I appreciate you being here.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
What's up. I'm Russ Rollins, host of the program.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
And with a fella and a lady. We'll be doing
this until around eleven o'clock. Here's the producer of the
Angel of Angel ra cool look.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
And he's tired.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
He's a he had a rough day yesterday.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
Yes, good rough though it is good rough. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Man, when you're doing something charitable like that, you know, yeah,
you're tired whatever. But at the end of the day
when they came to pick up all those bikes and
you prick the lady's name, but the lady that represents
the organization, she was you know, you could tell. And
when you're there's other people there that are from that
community and they are appreciating the effort put forth. Yeah
(04:09):
yeah that you know, it all kind of makes it
worth it.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
Paramour and Heights, what was it I lost my piece
of paper?
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Paramore.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
It's the bikes that benefited the Paramour and holding Heights kids.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Holding Heights kids there you go, yeah, yeah, and they
are always super appreciative. And that young lady has come
by every year say thank you. Yeah yeah, yeah, matter
of fact, ten years ago. She's been a part of
it for a long long time. So so yeah, so
bike drive yesterday, people go like, where's Ryan. Ryan mentioned
a couple of times his wife is having some metal
procedure procedure today and she's fine, it's all good, nothing
(04:43):
to worry about. But he wants to of course, we understand.
He wants to be with her all day and and
make sure she's cool, and so he's doing that. So
so Angele's trying to get the YouTube thing going.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
I think I figured it out to take a second.
It'll happen in the break.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Okay, good, yeah, I know, I'm looking at it on
we're on the stream yard thing. We just got to
get up on YouTube, so you guys could probably hear us.
That way, you could hear the weekend eep song. Aren't
you all glad? Aren't you happy? People texted in already
this morning? Thank you for that. That is great. Good
to see you there. And Daisy you'll be in a
little bit. So all together, do you want me to now?
(05:16):
Should we do a drum roll? Or probably is no
secret right like.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
They announced it last night?
Speaker 4 (05:21):
Okay, so all together?
Speaker 3 (05:23):
You know, from from six o'clock in the morning, at
seven o'clock at night, we were gathering, gathering as many
bikes as possible, and all together there was was it
two hundred and fifty two fifty eight?
Speaker 4 (05:36):
Okay? All right, two hundred and fifty eight bikes? Wait?
Did I tell you? I think, well, I think it's
two fifty two.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Then maybe that's it.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Yeah. I just had to.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Maetah, we well, we brought in ninety eight bikes. That's
where you got the eight. Yeah, so it's two fifty
two all together, we brought in ninety eight bikes.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
So I was trying to I remember in high school,
my my math teacher going, you're gonna need these you're
gonna need.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
To know how to do percentages.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
You're in time life, and I can't tell you the
last time I had to figure out percentages, right, and
I was trying to figure it out in my head
like like okay, I do I literally don't remember how
to do percentages. So if it was two hundred and
fifty two bikes and we brought in ninety.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Eight of them, what's the number that you came up with?
Speaker 3 (06:19):
What percent I came up with? We brought in fifty
six percent? Okay, that's not right, that's not right. Okay,
So if there's two, how do you do it? I
don't even remember how to do it. So there's two
hundred and fifty two bikes.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
So you divide the number of bikes in question. Okay,
So two fifty two divided by point the total number
of ninet eight, and you multiply it by one hundred,
so we come up with thirty seven point ninety eight percent.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Hold on, So so then you do hold on, it's
just sorry, how to do it again?
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Okay? So it's two.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Hundred and fifty two times by the total times ninety eight, right.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
The total about I'm a bikes in question was two hundred.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Yeah, two hundred and fifty two times ninety eight, and
then and the equals, and that equals.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
And then multy and then whatever that number is, you
should multiply that by one.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
Hundred times one hundred and then remember you got to
move the decimal points. Oh Jesus, So I didn't get
it right. I know, there's no way that's right. Thirty
seven point ninety eight, so thirty seven percent thirty yeah,
like thirty eight percent, thirty eight percent of them where
the bikes were brought in. Okay, all right, Well that's good,
that's respectable.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
I like that. I still don't know how to do percentages.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
You walked me through it, and I still couldn't do
it if I had to do it.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
And I remember my teachers always.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
In you're gonna need to know how to do this,
and I didn't need I didn't need it until I
was sixty. I've never I've never had to actually do
that in my life.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
But I mean you kind of do it on the
fly all the time though, when you're figuring out like
how you tip and stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Well, I do because that is based on one hundred percent. Right,
If something is more than one hundred percent. That's what
throws me off, you know that like that, that's two
fifty two and then we brought in ninety. So what
percentage of that are the bikes we brought in? So
you're saying it was thirty eight percent of the bikes. Yeah, basically, Okay,
that's good.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
I like that. That's good. Okay, So we did we did.
I feel like we did our job. You know, our
job was to influence people to come in and bring bikes,
and we you know, we we kind of uh you know,
uh stressed on that and I got that going. I
want to think, matter of fact, I wore my I
wore my hat from Solar Source because they brought they
brought fifteen. I appreciate that. We want to think, uh,
(08:29):
royal landscape, they brought like fifteen. I appreciate that Black Cow.
Black Cow bought a bunch of bikes, and I want
to think, I think all of them. What was the
the dive company that brought the bikes Islid Dive, Yes,
Ilid Dive. I want to thank them. So yeah, man,
any like everybody that came out yesterday morning for us,
(08:49):
we appreciate that everybody that I know that just call
Mo brought in a bunch of bikes during the.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
News Junkie show. I think they brought seventy bikes. Yeah,
that's great.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
I ended up. It looked and I'm sure we've they've
been posting on footage and everything overnight, but the last
images of it, uh, you know, were really really cool
and just shout out to who else do we need
to give upless people that everyone that stayed uh there, uh,
just helping assemble bikes. Yeah, Speedy Weeny, Kayla was out
(09:21):
there for quite some time. Coach was out there for
Ryan and I were out there assembling bikes. Sabrina was
out out there assembling bikes. I met a bunch of listeners.
Gentleman Dietrich, he was out there. John was out there,
and this is just the time that I was out there,
So there's Yeah, there was a bunch of people that
(09:41):
took a crash course on how to assemble bike bikes
and it was definitely definitely appreciated every single one of you.
If I didn't say your name, and I apologize, I'm
just remembering the people that were there while I was there.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Yeah, that is that, It really is it really is
a cool thing. Now, I had guessed I thought we
would do. I don't know why I got a high number.
I just thought us being out there all day, but
I forgot about the fact that, you know, these are
a little tough times. Bikes are more expensive than they
used to be. But two hundred and fifty two is
definitely good. I mean, you know that community is going
(10:13):
to be obviously thrilled. I would love to talk to
that young lady, you know, because I mean, obviously it's
going to make a big difference for Christmas for those kids.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
Man. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
So it's actually and again I think it was what
was neat Russ that second half of the day while
I was there, is that the guys that would show
up and they would they would drop a bike off,
and then they were seeing people assembling bikes and they
would you know, there's a handful of fans. I remember
a lady and her child, a couple of the people
that would they're bringing their kids to do this, and
(10:42):
then they would stop and give us, you know, thirty minutes,
forty minutes of their time to grab one of the
boxes and assemble a.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
Bike with their kid.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
You know what I'm saying, so they're dropping one off
and they're putting one together. Shout out to Orlando Ardie Davidson,
Jim Faridy and his guys, the whole crew that was there.
And I don't know if how much time you got
a chance to check this out, but there was bonehead
beard care. They were representative there. I did not see that. Yeah,
they were right next to the bar. They had great
(11:11):
beard oils and soaps and everything. And then shout out
to my man Tony Wiggins over there at put it
in the air. Smoke as a cigar for Shonado. If
you get a chance, it's p I n T a
smoke dot com. He had a complete full and I
and I told him, I was like, dude, may I apologize.
I didn't realize that you had this whole setup. He
had a full fledged cigar lounge set up. He had
(11:34):
It was absolutely perfect. You went into the trailer, it
had the lights, he had cool music, leather sofas and everything.
And yeah, he makes his own cigar blends per se.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
I did see Angelique on the video that she made,
have the video of her getting that massage and the
massage lad he was there donating her time and donating money.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
That was very nice.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Yeah, so I ended up you know, again, when you're
doing something like this and then you get a cool
community sponse, that's fun.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And so you and Ryan both
were out there all day.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
Obviously Jimmy show doesn't until seven o'clock and then we
had break all our gear down and bring it back.
Obviously with Ryan, you know, he didn't have a chance
to get back to the station to set everything up.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
So yeah, so we're set up a little bit different
today on YouTube and and Angel's gonna get it going
so you guys will be able to see and everything
here during the first break. But we got it up
on the stream yard thing, which is perfect, which is great.
I was worried about that, but yeah, man, that is
really good. A matter of fact, mar Lisa, I did
the four oh seven yesterday on Fox thirty five, and
they asked me about about the bike drive and how
(12:37):
many bikes we had, and I'm like, well, at that time,
I just knew that we had ninety eight, but you know,
the rest of the station was going to be doing
it for the rest of the day. We got two
hundred and fifty two all together, which is very very
very respectable, very good. Thank you to everybody that participated
and came out yesterday, no matter what time to day
you came. You know, we just appreciate you being a
part of it and doing it. Take a little break,
we'll try to get that YouTube thing going. And we
(12:58):
got a bunch of bunch of stuff to the day
on a Thursday, it is weeke INDI. We appreciate you
guys being here. You're listening to the mantras the morning.
Oh Ryan forgot to tell angel a bunch of stuff
last second. He tails him. By the way. I love
(13:22):
the fact that there listen. There are people that are
great at math, and there are people that are not.
People are saying I was yelling at my radio Russ,
you guys can't figure out percentages.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
And somebody broke it down super easy for me.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Whoever that says, I said, ross small number divided exactly
by the large number.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
So you do.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
So there was okay, there was I feel like.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
We're in school, right, but we're the goofy kids that
don't know math. There was two hundred and fifty two
bikes total. Take the small monsters brought in ninety eight bikes,
So you take the small number first, so ninety eight
times we're divided by I'm sorry, that's why I screed up.
Divided by two hundred and fifty two, and you come
(14:04):
up with thirty eight point nine percent. That's pretty much
thirty nine percent of the bikes brought in by a monster. Listeners,
that's cool, and people were like, well, so it's not
a competition, Listen, it's a competition in my head because my.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Guys are not going to change.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
My job is to.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Be influential, right, My job is to influence people to
bring in bikes. That's what you know. So I focused
on that yesterday. I wasn't focused on doing a radio show.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
Really.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
I was focused on, you know, influencing people to bring
in bikes. That because I feel like that's my job
and I need to do that better than anybody.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
That's that. That's what you got a couple of.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Things I'm good at, guys, and one is influencing people to.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
You know, to go to promoting an event.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Promoting an event, to you know, to getting people to
go to mills air to like, like, being influential is
kind of what I'm supposed to be doing so, I
take it serious and I wanted to, you know, bring
in as many bikes as we could.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
It's nothing against anybody else.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
I want everybody to do their best, you know, but
I want Monster is to always be the ones that
sell the most tickets and have the most like that's
the that's my one trick. I'm not the smartest guy
in the radio. I'm not the best looking. I don't uh,
I don't go to break on time. I don't uh.
I don't do the h the t stuff. What I
do is influence people to do. And that's how you've
(15:17):
become successful. I've only met like a couple of people
that I feel that are on par with with me
when it comes to, uh, to influencing Jim Phillips being
one of the best ever and there are other guys
that are really good at influencing an audience.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
And that's my little trick.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
So when I do my little trick, I want to
make sure that we uh that we are head, you know,
head and shoulders above everybody and and uh and I'm
glad that we you know, we were able to bring
in more bikes and that's cool. Hopefully I can influence
you to go to the to the uh Translanberian Orchestra
this Saturday. Uh, that's gonna be a great event. If
you've never been, it really is good. Uh.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
But it's good to be able to use. You know.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
You hear about people that are that do podcasts and
stuff like that they're influencers, And I always hated that
because it's like, well, are they really like are all
of them? Some of them are incredible influencers. And those
are the ones that are super successful, you know, uh,
and they're really good at what they do, Like Tom
and Dan are great at what they do. They're super
successful at it, and they can influence people to come
(16:15):
to their events.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
And all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
There are other people that do podcasts and they sit
in their back room and they're not they're not thinking
about influencing an audience. They're just thinking about, you know,
talking about what they think is you know, is interesting
or whatever. So the really trick here is to influence folks.
So that's why you know, I was really really kind
of said on yesterday trying to get as many people
as possible, and I'm a big thank you to everybody
(16:37):
that did come out because it does make a huge difference.
And I forget that lady's name from the uh from
the charity, but she's really great to have on the air.
Did they talk to her yesterday?
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Yeah, she was there.
Speaker 4 (16:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
But did they get there no, because they they showed
up after the broadcast was over.
Speaker 4 (16:57):
Oh I got you.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
I got you, okay, And I know you were just
out trying to get the everything up for the for
the YouTube channel and Ryan forgot to tell you a
bunch of stuff, right, Yeah. Does that make you crazy
because you know everyone's looking at you. They're like, oh,
Angel doesn't know how to do it. I know Angel doesn't.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
To do it, but here's the thing. I'm like, I
don't even trip on that because it's like, it's not
my first and foremost, is not my forte and it's
again trying to step in and do it. And obviously
with we're like, we don't have any of the cameras here,
we don't have any of the equipment, we don't have
any of the things that we normally do. So this
is a different way. This is different than the last
time you had to do it. Yeah, I'm done like
(17:35):
getting like worried about all that stuff because literally it's like,
oh crap, it's it's this. I forgot to tell you this.
So has this, you know, but I but here's the thing.
I get it. I understand it because you know, there's
a lot of nuances to it. There's that, and then
you know they're going through what they're going through and whatever,
and you know this might not be as friend of
mine as it normally would be, you know kind of thing,
(17:57):
and so you know, you just kind of move with it.
But it's funny to me. I'm talking to myself over
like a crazy person.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
But during the next break, you'll probably be able to
get it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Yeah, I should have popped up now, but he added
one more thing as I was running over here.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, all right.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
So but yeah we're good man. It's fine.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
See stuff like this. I have grown though. Stuff like
this used to make me all crazy and mad.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
I'm like, it'll get worked out, that's fine, you know,
it'll get up, it'll do.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
Yeah, right, Like you control what you can control you
can't and that's all you can do, right, the things
that the things that are out of your actual grasp.
What I would say this is like for you know,
the upcoming for the next year. The little things that
we internally as a group as a crew, yea, that
well we can button up, you know, just to make
you know, help each other out and make it more
(18:46):
seamless when we do have you know, because outside of
the three of us, there's no one that steps in
and does like even with Ryan, even with Ryan covering
when I'm out and running the board, there's things, there's
things that fall through the gaps, you know.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
Yeah, because right because Ryan doesn't know everything that goes
on back there that you're doing.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
I mean, you know, the podcast doesn't get posted things
like that, you know, yes, yes, So there's little nuances
to both of our positions, and we none of the
three of us don't have somebody that comes in that's
a stop gap. No, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
No, it's it's it's it's so many times it's just
us doing it. Matter of fact, everything that was set
up yesterday, as far as the video camera session for
the whole station, that was all Ryan doing that for
the News Junkie, and he did it for the Colbert Show.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
So that was all us doing it. And so you.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Know, I wonder I can't remember when I became I
don't know what the word is not passive, that's that's not
the word. Uh, calm down, relaxed about when things don't
go I used to get so mad angel I was
bad and and and it's embarrassing because I was. It
was like being a kid. It was it was being
really stupid. I would throw a little tantrums because everything
wasn't going perfect on the show.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
And I probably was rude to projecting huh by projecting
maybe no, no, not projecting. I would legitimately I would
get mad be if something wouldn't go right, and I
would probably throw a bit of a tantrum right and
be all pissed about it. And I probably was rude
to Daniel. I probably was rude to to who was
the other producer, which is you and Daniel?
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Think TC anybody that if you get anybody that.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
If something went wrong, I thought it reflected on all
of us, and I get so mad. And I've learned
to just kind of let that stuff just go, like, hey,
it's gonna work itself out, It'll be fine, And it.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
Feels much better not to get all pissed off about stuff,
you know, like what are you gonna do.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
Yeah, it'll go work down and it's always happened like you.
I mean, first couple of segments will be walking and
then we'll get it and it'll go and and and
all that.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
Man, it was it was kind of chilly out there yesterday.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Broad we started off, we started off with the cold
and like the last thirty minutes of the show and
that's when we first got finally got sawn. I felt
bad so as they're as news Junkie's coming on and
it's Washston and Sea lad. No, we did take it
to cau the glare and I was like, I tell them.
I was like, yo, you guys probably want to move
over there, and it was it was it was a
(21:04):
late call to do that, right, but they're like, now
we'll be fine whatever, And so the wass it is
like cooking. There's a photograph as funny as hell where
it's a motive it and maybe bust that are right
next to them and they're holding umbrellas over ceiling and
was it because it got it got hot. Yeah, it
got real hot between let's say like noon and whatever.
(21:24):
And then when I got back, obviously sun's coming down,
breeze is picking up dude. Uh, Jimmy and Deborah and
Jack they were like they were sweating. They were no,
they were bundled up by the end of last night, dude,
by seven o'clock.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
Oh, because the sun had gone.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
So the son obviously it gets dark earlier, and then
the temperature dropped again. And then as soon as the
sun like hit the horizon and that breeze kicked up.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
Yeah. Oh they got chilli as hell.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
But then you know it was good. Yeah, for the
next couple days supposed to be chilly. Well, I want
to win. This weekend is gonna be. Man. We're getting
closer and closer to the end of the year, uh,
which is which is awesome, which you know. Then the
next the next thing I have I call it worry about.
It's that really next thing I have to pay attention
to a is Trans Siberian Orchestra. And then next week
we've got on Wednesday the Cure Ball, which basically we
(22:13):
just go to a tailgate party. I mean that's you know,
so it's really nothing for me to get freaked out
about or worried about.
Speaker 4 (22:19):
But I still will worry to make sure we sell tickets.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Uh, because once again that's my job and then uh
and then the final.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Show of the year. It's coming together pretty well.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
Angel and I know that you you added some or
maybe Ryan added somebody on for the telethon the Monster telephone.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
Oh yeah, uh uh Angel, I mean Angel.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
Ryan got Fat Timmy band to perform for us on
the last show of the year. So their whole band's
gonna come in and perform. BB Caliber is gonna come
in and she's gonna do a song.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
I've not heard back from Savannah Savino. Uh, so I'll
put another shout out to her. Monster Music Man Matt
is performing. Uh. Stubborn Cowgirl is is is out on
I think a cruise or something, or she's she know
uh started the Calgary had something else. She's just out
of town. But Doug is going to come in and perform.
Then we've got the Jazz Witnesses, a jazz band coming
(23:07):
in to do a song. And Little Dreamer Uh oh,
dream a little. I'm sorry, Dream a little. The winner
of Miss Monster Burlesque is going to come in and
do a song. So, uh, you know, looking for maybe
some more talent to come in and do it. And
this year it's only Christmas songs. Oh, and another young lady.
Oh what's her name? Oh shoot, Oh, I'm so sorry
I forgot your I didn't forget your name. I just
(23:29):
can't think of it right now because i'm crazy. Hold on,
I'll find it in my notes. She's so sweet and
she she was one of the contestants for Miss Monster
UH or for the Monster Singing uh Singer of the Year,
and she wasn't a winner. She was a Katrina. Oh,
I'm so sorry, Arnie. I'm so sorry I forgot your name.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
Tank on it.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
It's just because I'm old and crazy. I'll think of
it here in a second. But but she's gonna come in.
She's got a band now. She's very appreciative of us
helping her out. And I her name just slipped my
mind because I'm not crazy, not because I don't remember her.
But she wanted to do like an original song, and
I said no, I'm like, now, like we're only doing
Christmas songs.
Speaker 4 (24:08):
I don't want to.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
We had that really, really bad experience with letting someone
do an original song and it flopped, and it flopped for.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
The rest of us and the show, but it worked
out swimmingly for the person involved.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
Yeah, that was it came out like a heel cologne. Yea.
But yeah, any other any other person you could think
we should invite.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
Oh well, I will keep my mouth shut. I'm working
on something that could be huge. Uh.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
I want to tell you there's somebody. Okay, okay, I'll
just say this.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
I got someone working on something and we're getting close
and this could happen.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
We there there.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
There is a possibility that someone is going to be
you know how they do the thing out of Epcot
where they read the Uh they do some reading.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Out of Silent Night or something, and that's I don't
something like that. It's more of a religious thing they read.
It's like a Christmas story, isn't it. And then and
then they do the light I don't know. It's Christmas related.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
Christmas related out of Epcot and they have famous people
come out there and they do the read.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
Heather Cantrell thank you so much that.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
Thank you, Matt, appreciate it, buddy, Heather Cantreill is going
to come in and do us so long.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Let me write that down so I don't forget her
name again. I remember her.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
It's not that I don't remember her, It just slipped
my mind. I don't want her to think I forgot.
I'm old and crazy, Heather Cantraill and you're at that. Okay,
they read something out of EPCOT and it's whatever it is. Anyway,
there are celebrities that come in, and we might be
able to have one of the celebrities come in to
promote that.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
That's all I'll say, is it? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (25:44):
I thought, And it's like, do you have the Christmas
candle and they do one of the like Christmas stories
or something like that.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
It's something that's more it's something that's more like religious though.
It's like that the reading of like the Last Day
or maybe the Christmas Luke chapter two, something like that.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
Yeah, yeah, I never heard of that.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
I said, like the person that we had two texts,
they come and they read the Night before Christmas. That's
the one I've seen that. The other gentleman, Matt says
that they do Luke chapter two. I'm not sure what
that is.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
The candlelight professional professional. That's what they wrote, processional. They
wrote professional and I said it like a moron, it's
the candidate processional. Look at the top one. It's his
candlelight professional processional what it is? And there's somebody famous
(26:39):
going to be in town and they might be able
to come and join us for the last show of
the year.
Speaker 4 (26:43):
So last show of the year.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Gift of the Magi?
Speaker 4 (26:46):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (26:46):
The Gift of the Magi?
Speaker 4 (26:47):
They read, No, that's not religious. Are you serious?
Speaker 3 (26:52):
No, that's not a religious thing. That's a story from
Dickens or something or somebody that the gift of the
Magi the Magi. What's that story about. That's the story
where they he got a calm and he sells the
calmb or whatever, and then she had hair and she
cut her hair to get him a calmer. And that's
what Jim Phillips used to read. And it's from someone,
a really famous author, Dickens. Dickens, I said, Dickens. I
(27:17):
don't know if it is Dickens. I don't know who
it is. Somebody knows. I'm looking at the Texan Service,
you guys. You guys need to step it up today.
Get our answers quicker for us.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
The Gift of the Madge, I refers to the biblical
story Matthew two one twelve. So it's the version that
you tell is like a kind of representation of the
three Wiseman s okay. So the one that Jim Phillips
used to read, it's again it's Dickens with Dickens, okay.
And he got it from what the influence is or
the what it represents is that story.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
Okay, all right, I thought it came from Dickens, that
he made it up.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
Well, I mean he he ripped it off. He wrote.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
He wrote that his version of that he was inspired by.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
It by the Lord, by the good Lord. All right,
very good. Candle light professional, that's what it is. Not professional.
I'm a candlelight professional.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Candlelight professional anyway, a different party, bro.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
I've got people working on people in order to try
to have some more star power at our last show
of the year that's going to be on December the
nineteenth here at the radio station. We're inviting people to
perform to try to once again influence people to donate
money for the Coalition for the Homeless.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
To that point, all right, and to that point, and
I'll tell you off air, there are some of our
clients that were kind of bummed out that we weren't
doing I'll tell you later, but that we were because
last year they felt more like a big giant party
because we were doing it someplace else. Yeah, I'm asking
you now that we could still have that vibe keeping
(28:53):
a party and not only do they have the broadcast area,
but we have the Duncan lounge.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
Oh and making more of a party.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
And and because for a lot of people, and it
didn't hit Meet Russ until yesterday, a lot of people
viewed that as like there who you know, like their
their Christmas send off kind of thing, and it was
like the it was a monster's Christmas party. So just
something for you to think about. Obviously it's because of
the we're limited in space and whatnot. It would be
(29:21):
invite kind of only, but you know, we could get
some food and some beverages.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
Some of the people from the YouTube chan like, uh,
you know Tanya Morgan, and that's told Tanya whoever she
wants to invite, like, you know, she's got people from
the YouTube channel.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
But there's I'll mention, you know, we'll have this conversation
here and momentarily, but there was a couple of people
that they're like, oh man, I look forward to that,
blah blah blah, and that's like yall's Christmas party And
uh so you know oh.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
By the way, oh, Henry wrote to get to the magi,
the one that the one that Jim Phillips.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Read, and it's correct. I remember because he would say
that in his in his spiel exactly that's what I
was right. You're right, you're right, you're right, Thank you.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
And then but they read out there when they do
the candlelight processional, No, I.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
Like the candlelight professional. Is a candlelight professional. She's on
the stage now.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
It's the main it's the story about the Manger. You know,
that's the Manger story. The Nativity is what they read.
That's the major story the Nativity. There you go, facts
right here on the radio. One O four point one
more big gun pun we'll make comes back cafe. Don't
go anywhere. You're listening to the Max of the Morning
(30:45):
Texting service check in and you can always text us
at seven seven zero three one.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
I've been text the people back.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
Someone says, hey, every year they play the Christmas Carol
on Christmas Eve that we did with Jim Phillips and
Scott the get for the magi and everything, and they
want to know if they're gonna play the one this
year where I screwed up.
Speaker 4 (31:06):
Now, we did it many many years.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
And I only screwed up one year. Do you remember
what my screw up was? Angel, I do not recollect. Okay,
so I was I was not Tiny Tim. It was
Tiny Tim's dad, Bob cratch It, right, I was Bob Cratchit.
Speaker 4 (31:19):
And I pretty much killed it. Every year I did
really really good.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
You know, I can really really tear on the turn
on the tears, you know, when Tiny Tim was dead
and and uh, you know all that stuff. But one year,
I have a line and it's supposed to say Christmas
only comes once a year, and I said Christmas only
comes twice a year.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
And I don't even know why I said twice a year.
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
I don't know if that's the one Jack's gonna play
or not, Folks, I don't know which one. I don't
know if they play the one where I messed up.
But there it's out there for sure. Uh. And then
someone said, is Russ on cocaine this morning? He's all
over the place. Now I'm just all over the place.
Speaker 4 (31:56):
So I didn't.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
I woke up once again. I'm having this problem with
waking up now at midnight and not being able to
get back to sleep. I don't know why. Yeah, that's
that's rather uh. And my wife's still sick, so uh
that that sucks.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
But when you wake up like that, do you take
like do you do like Darth Vader? And do you
take all this stuff off? H?
Speaker 3 (32:20):
I do. I'll take it all off. I'll go I'll
go to the bathroom or whatever, like Okay, let me
just tell you know, just who saw. Let's just all
get in this, try to rely.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
And so you're up up.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
I got up up and then uh, and then I
came back into bed and I'm trying to get all
come and then my mind starts racing about what we're
gonna talk about to day because I know it's just
gonna be me and you. And then I said, oh,
you know, and I started thinking about the show, and
I can't get it. You know how many topics are're
gonna have and it's all starts. It's just it's a
it's self induced, uh dumb dumb ism. Uh. But uh, anyway,
(32:52):
I was gonna ask you about this, right. I know
how much you love coffee. Have you seen this new
coffee called Cocaine Coffee? I almost ordered some because like this,
this will really.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
Wake you up.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
It's cocaine coffee. Now, there can't be real cocaine in it, obviously. Uh,
it's just probably just a tricky name. But uh, let's
go to order it for us, because I know you
like coffee that gives you a jolt.
Speaker 4 (33:12):
Yeah I do.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
I'm a huge fan of that.
Speaker 4 (33:14):
But uh, did you find it?
Speaker 1 (33:16):
Is this?
Speaker 3 (33:16):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (33:18):
I don't know if it comes with the my CA cups.
I don't think you get CA cup? Is it really
just called that? I don't know.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
It was on my it was on my my feed
and it's like, you're unbelievable coffee. This will definitely wake
you up. Cocaine coffee. I think that's just that's obviously
it's just a name. There can't be any real cocaine
and it would be impossible.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
Oh there is.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
Oh is there real cocaine coffee the Oge Colombian coffee
product of Columbia. Yeah, a bold name, a meaningful nation
mission as a cupels inspired by the cocaine coffee movement.
Speaker 4 (33:55):
So it is real cocaine. It's made from the cocoa plant.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
Probably No, there's still I mean, yeah, I think they're
just doing the shock value of the name.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
That's what I would think.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
Yeah, yeah, because it's all there's nothing that they're doing.
There's actually a place in Tampa where you can buy it,
the storefront and Tampa.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
Well someone someone who was gonna send it to me,
and I'm like, does it come in CA cups? Because
I don't think it does, you know? Yeah, so it's yeah,
it's just a brand name, dude. Okay, all right. We
were still still struggling with the YouTube channel thing.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
Hey man, so just to keep this is not your fault, no, no,
just to keep everybody all transparency. Yeah yeah, So hey,
I did this, this and this. Ryan's like, yeah, not
sure why it's not grabbing the window? Try this? So
oh so now I got a whole new box of
things to do.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
Now.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
So there's two hundred and sixty five people that are
listening right now on our YouTube channel. We have radio
watchs on YouTube, but they can't see our lovely faces.
So and the daisy should be in here in a minute.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
So you know, Okay, I got it, you got it, Well, no,
I gotta I'm just reading.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Something else you gotta do. Why don't we do this?
Let's do trivia at seven. Let let's let's let's get
it gets to the to the seven o'clock folks. Let's
let the some trivia seven. We punish them enough, let's break.
Let's bring trivia back to seven o'clock. That seems to
make everybody comfortable.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
I like it the other way.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
I like switching it around as well because I like
getting new listeners.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
So here's the deal.
Speaker 3 (35:20):
If you like, if you did win recently, just act
like you don't know us. You know, like, hey, come
up with a different story. You know, don't do that
last one where yeah, I just won two months ago
and here I just did the same plug and it
was like, oh, we don't want that. We want new
people to get a chance to win. So we'll do
We'll take a little break. Ae's gonna try to get
the YouTube channel going.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
Uh, and we'll also do trivia. Uh.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
And I'll go let Daisy in and uh, we'll we'll
do some trivia when we come back. The telephone numbers
four oh seven, nine one six one o four one.
There's been some great prizes, by the way, all week long,
so maybe you might get.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
Another one of those great prices.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
You guys. Pretty cool stuff to do.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
And for folks that did win tickets to the trans
Iberian Orchestra, they they send those to you probably today
or tomorrow, just so you know.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
And they do it online, you know, like with your
with your yeah, everywhere.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
If everyone that's one, let's say before yesterday, so everyone
that's one and you would have gotten one email first,
you gotta fill something out there, send it back. Uh.
Tickets will start to go out on Friday, and they'll
go start sending out on Friday and to go all
the way through Saturday morning as well.
Speaker 4 (36:30):
Yeah, yeah, so you'll get them. Don't worry.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
And if you haven't gotten tickets yet, you should get tickets.
It's gonna be a you know, it's a great show.
It's a Saturday night. A portion of the proceeds go
to the Carla K Cancer Screening Fund. I am gonna
be there for the seven o'clock show. Ambernova will be
with me. We get to go on stage. My mom's
gonna come on stage with me. Other really great friends
with my sister gonna come up her, her her husband
(36:54):
is gonna come up with me to accept the check.
Also from the Life Image f LA Judy is gonna
come up as well, because that's what we do with
the money. We get people, you know, we get people
to get those screenings. I got to think the Osceola
County Firefighters, the Osceola County Firefighters. I don't know his
exact name, but they donated three thousand dollars yesterday, Thank
(37:22):
you so very much. Once again, it's the Ossiole Accounty. Yeah, man,
that's awesome, very nice, in order to help people get
the screening. They also donated last year. Let's see his
name is there, but big shout out, thank you so much.
Osciola County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Trust. And they sent us
a check for three thousand dollars. Another gentleman gave us
(37:44):
a check for one hundred dollars yesterday.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
Very very nice. I certainly do appreciate that. And the money.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
Listen, all the money goes to you know, we really
don't have a whole lot of administration fees, none of
us pay ourselves or anything like that. We're just doing
all the love to keep my sister's name alive. And
they get people that you know that that early screening
for for cancer. So uh, that's where all the money goes.
So uh, you know that's a that's what we do
with that. So anyway, but if you're out there on
(38:10):
Saturday night and you see me, meant say hi and
love to see you, know, see you guys, all the
fans of the show. You're gonna love the Trans Siberian Orchestra.
It is a blast and I'm looking forward to doing
that on Saturday. We'll do trivia when we come back.
Don't go anywhere you're listening to the Mansters of the Morning.
