Speaker 1 (00:57):
Oh yeah, that's right, Yeah right, that's.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Fun in the Nerd to the Nerd Time trailer dropped
over the weekend for a new Marvel TV show, What
is it?
Speaker 5 (01:08):
It's called wonder Man And what.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
I mean that's like, like there is a wonder Woman.
Why does Marvel have to have a wonder Man.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
They've had him for a long time. He's not new,
he's been he's been around. He's not as old as
wonder Woman. But I actually that's never crossed my mind
that he's like this wonder Man wonder Woman.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
But they're kind of different in their power base.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Uh so that'll be coming out here shortly onto Disney
Plus on January twenty seventh is.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
When that drops.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
What does wonder Man do?
Speaker 5 (01:39):
He's like a superman.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
They're all kind of like a Superman at this point.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Cape No, in the comics, he wears a big like
a black suit with big w one. I think if
nerds correct me, I'm gonna do this off the top
of my dome. I actually never read his comics, but
he was a little lot of crossovers that I was in.
I believe he was like a movie star.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
Okay, that was also a superhero.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
He's wonder Man.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Yeah, And then they announced the when Daredevil season two
was dropping.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
In March, so you got that announcement as well.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
And finally, I mean waiting forever, like I kind of
forgot about X Men ninety seven Season two is coming
this summer as well.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
They said that Daredevil is going to play a part
in the new Super I mean spider Man movie.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Well, good, yeah, that'll I always like to see the crossovers.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
That's why I like.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
I like if Peacemaker ended on what I would call
a terrible episode.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Okay, we agree again that's scary, but yeah, that was terrible.
Speaker 5 (02:35):
It was like filler, buddy.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
I was like, what are you doing?
Speaker 5 (02:38):
They should have swapped the last one with this one.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
They're saying there will be there will There'll be no more.
But the Peacemaker is going to be a part of
the DCU in the movie, in the in the films
that are coming out. I guess, uh Supergirl, Yeah, like
he's gonna be a part of that.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
It was a hot, garbage episode.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
It was just them on a date for the most
of it, and uh, me and my wife were like,
that's your finale for a TV show that's been this
good so far.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
They throw them into another world and that's it.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
Yeah, And like the spoiler alert, but.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Like the Peacemaker for James Gunn has been a soft
reboot of the DC Universe.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
He's been very open about that.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
So in this in it at one point is Lex
Luthor's in it and his henchmen are in it, and uh,
it's good.
Speaker 5 (03:23):
It's leads up to now the movies.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
I just thought that that episode was a waste of
my time. They could have ended it on episode seven
and called a day. But you know, you get what
you get.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
You mentioned uh, you know, you mentioned Marvel, and they're
saying that the uh Daredevil Born Again is going is
gonna be a part of the feature film spider Man
Brand New Day. So then you know all it all
kind of the second season is going to go into that.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
So they're gonna combine it to why are they doing that?
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Why are they taking the TV shows and using them
as a way to get you to go to the movies,
Because that's what they're doing with Peacemaker, And so you
see more Peacemaker, you gotta go watch Supergirl. If you
want to see more Daredevil, you're gonna have to go
to Spider Man New Brand New Days.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Is that a tactic?
Speaker 5 (04:09):
I guess, I guess I don't.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
It's content, that's all it is. It's pure content. Remember
these streaming platforms won original material. So one of the
hustles that they're going to do is that while they
got these awesome ips, they're gonna do all the spin
offs and everything that they can to get you to
go to the theater to go no, to watch the
to watch the streaming.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Well no, no, they're using the streaming to get you
to go to the movie. Now that's my point.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Well right, but again, but it's also giving more eyes
to the streaming too.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Right, because if you go see the movie and you
you're right, okay, so if you want to see the movie,
well I'm gonna go back and watch the show because that's.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Gonna be part of the movie. Okay, that makes sense.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know. It's it's I thought I
would like all the stuff coming at me.
Speaker 5 (04:48):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Marvel's TV shows have kind of been garbage lately all around.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Now are they garbage or are we growing up the garbage?
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Okay, they released Marvel Zombies would have been very cool.
I used to like those comics back in the day,
and there's just a boring this boring TV show. Now,
let's talk a little bit about AI and the newest
thing that all the kids are doing with it, which
is have you heard of the homeless man prank ress?
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Yeah, I saw that.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Actually all the four oh seven, the TV show, they
covered that, and people, for whatever reason, think it's funny
to take these pictures and make it look like there's
like a homeless man or someone in your house and
it really is just AI, and people get really upset
and they're.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Calling the police.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Yes, what they're doing.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
What these kids are doing, they're they're making an AI
homeless person in their own home. And then they're texting
a picture to their parents and be like, hey, mom,
this guy just came in. He said you needed to
use the bathroom, and now he's eating out of our fridge.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
He's saying, yeah, or he's taking a nap in your bed. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Not funny, No, not funny at all, and could cause
an actual incident.
Speaker 5 (05:56):
But apparently. I mean it's believable.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Too, Like this is a AI generating photo completely that
I'm looking at right here on our YouTube channel.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
She's laying down next to the homeless Yeah, I mean,
it's ridiculously Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
This is the kind of stuff that like AI is
getting used for. It's not fixing our problems. It's not
curing cancer. It's being used to prank people's parents and
do this.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
I do think that, or getting gorillas and uh and
and snowman talking in different places.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Oh yeah, the Bigfoot. He travels around Florida. He was
just in winter Haven the other day.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
I like that big What was in pr Now he
speaks Spanish?
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Not like that.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
That's funny. We all know that's fake. You can see it.
You know it's fake.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
Sure, we know it's fake, But like, do we all
know it's fake? Because everybody know it's fake?
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Ambernova has no clue.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah, I kind of want to troll Amber with AI now,
just to see how far I can get.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
It as far as you want.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
I about Stephen Hawking coming off the top rope? Have
you seen those? Are Stephen Hawkin winning the Daytona five hundred.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
I saw what it was, mister goes heel and it
was mister Rogers, you know, mister Rogers neighborhood and.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
He's in a wrestling ring going to here.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
There's one with mister Rogers and Tupac Trink and forties.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
I saw it.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
I don't like this stuff because like there's also like, well,
it's really fun to look at I have seen a
lot of like let's call him horrifically racist videos too,
which one where people are taking like bad jokes like
like Stan, you know, like standard jokes about whatever group
of people, and then they've put it into AI and
made a video out of it.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
And I've seen a lot of that.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
I saw one where a man was flying through a
walmart yelling the end word. I just don't think, like,
why where are the barriers when it was gonna come
to this stuff?
Speaker 1 (07:39):
I don't like it.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
And poor poor Zelda Williams who Zelda Williams. Zelda Williams
is the daughter of Robin Williams.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Zelda O.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Yeah, Zelda Williams famously named after a video game character
Zelda because her dad enjoyed playing Legend of Zelda named
her daughter after that. Well, people are keep sending her
Ai videos of her dead dad.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
But like he's alive, Like IM talking like it's AI
doing Robin Williams.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Yeah, yeah, And I'm sure she's just like on social media.
She's on Instagram and people like are either making the
videos or see the videos and then like tagging her
or sending it to her.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
And that's got to be so weird.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
I did see somebody on my Facebook where they had
an old picture of them with their dad and they're like, oh,
I miss him so much.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
And then it was like it took the photo and.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
Made them like wave to the and he's like, Oh,
I really like AI and I get it.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
It can be it can be a healing tools.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
One on one kind of I think what we're going
to get to where it's an individual kind of situation
or uh. But like with Robin Williams, like he had
enough forethought and thought process that hey, I don't want
a AI version of me existing. He said that before
you and he got and he has it in his
to protect his his uh, his estate, his image. Yeah,
(08:56):
so that anyone who like the people that are creating
these things, are sending these things show's kind of like
a lack of out of touch or all going against
his will. Yeah, because if you were such a huge
fan of his, then you've got to understand that there's
nothing about that that he would appreciate. And then just
and then to tag his daughter in that, Yeah, you
know I like reading that. I was like, that's that's respectful.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Yeah, Hey, you know this is not adjacent, not the
same but sort of the same, just talking about like
the daughter and their feelings. I saw on Facebook this
week somebody put like, hey, this is the last text
between Rowdy Roddy Piper and his daughter and didn't even
say her name, and it was some wrestling fan and
they have like the last text between you know, our
friend Teal.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Piper and Rowdy Roddy Piper.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
It's like their last little conversation about like I think
it was like banana bread or something like that. And
I'm like, I wondered if that like hurts her feelings, that.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
Maybe this person grabbed that from her because she was
she had shared a post earlier about how with one
of her devices that had all those conversations she had
lost them and then she'd been trying to get back
and get some of these and one of them appeared
in her phone or on her phone okay, and then
she reposted that Okay. Yeah, so I think this person
probably was just resharing that.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Okay, Okay.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
I was like, oh my god, I hope this doesn't hurt
her feelings, but but if she posted it, then it's
probably yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
So just I'm just gonna go and say, like on
air right now, when I die, do not make an
aie of me?
Speaker 5 (10:20):
All right? I don't like it. Angel, Oh yeah, I
don't want any of that.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Please make one.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
I know I would have to even Please make all
the ones you want.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Had me doing all kinds of silly stuff. I don't
care what it, just keep me around, yes, do it?
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Okay, So you're legally saying I can make an AI out.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Of you, please do okay, eating sandwiches, hot dogs, bananas, whatever.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
I don't care porn, would you know, as long as
I look good? Whatever? All right?
Speaker 5 (10:48):
But yeah, that's that's a nerding news for the week.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
And that's brought to you by that mortgage guy Don
from that mortgage.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
Guy don dot com.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
You're looking to get a mortgage, whether traditional mortgages, refiz
he locks small business loans. That more's guy Don does
it always got a thousand and five star Google reviews.
Speaker 5 (11:03):
He helped me get my home.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
He helped my mom with a heelock recently and she
was super happy with us. Check it out that Morris
gout Don dot com. And so you've just heard the nerd.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Hey, we got a couple of moments.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
So yeah, you we agree that that was the Peacemaker was.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Bad, right, yeah, it was just it wasn't bad.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
It was just a weird filler episode as the finale
and there are and.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
I saw one line they were like, oh, this is this.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
If you go to this website, it'll explain the ending
and explain it, and like we wants here to explain
it looked pretty cut.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
And right, Yeah, they made a prison out of that
weird dimensional door thing and he's in it then and
now there's no more piece Maker.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
But it looks like they it looks like they left
it with a cliffhanger that looks like a cliffhanger, but
they're saying no fas a cliffhanger for the movie either,
saying it's not a cliff not a cliffhanger for another show.
That's for the movie and you'll find out if you
go to the movie.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
So so they're they're baiting you to go see the movie.
And it never seemed to be like that before, you know,
like a movie was a much bigger deal. But now, hey,
if you want more Peacemaker, you gotta go see Supergirl.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
Yeah, and I will. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
I really like what James Gunn has done so far.
I enjoyed the Superman movie for some reason. I think
some people didn't, but I like for me, for me,
that's the best Superman movie that's been done so far.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
I would agree.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
I would agree for Superman movies, yeah, I would agree.
All right, we'll take a little break. Don't go anywhere.
You're listening to the Manster the morning this Thursday, we're
out in Daytona. Haven't been to Daytona in sometime. Man
(12:45):
all the monsters will be there on Thursday morning from
six to eleven doing a.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Live show at Daytona.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Harley Davidson looking forward to It's kickoff Bike Week and Daytona.
And you can go out and say, Hill, we'll be
out there this coming Thursday. Welcome back. I am Russ
with Angel and Ryan all here today. Did you I
will saying it was slightly better this week, not a
whole lot better, but slightly letter better as a Saturday
(13:13):
Night Live.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Did you see Saturday Night Live? Ryan? Yeah? It was.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
It was better than last week, which is not that
wasn't great by I mean, I will.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Say that one of the I thought the opening thing
was pretty funny with Pam Bondy, right like Amy Poehler
was doing a Pam Bondy uh And as they're doing it,
I'm like, oh my god, this is gonna this is
gonna you know, this is gonna be a thing.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
This is gonna be some sort of you know.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
And what do you think Pam Bondy said about Amy
Paul Amy Poehler's goofing on her?
Speaker 1 (13:46):
I know, probably something cringing and stupid. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
That's what I thought. I thought for sure she's gonna
come back.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
I should be canceled her.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
She actually said I love Amy Poehler. That's That's which
I was like, Okay, that was That was a bit
of a shocker that that she with the total opposite
of what anyone else would say they being made in
fun of she did.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
She did not do that.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
I'll say it because I never cared before about like,
you know how they're always like introducing them and they're
like here's the cast and then like also featuring.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
I never really met knew with that mant.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
I just thought that it was like a new people
thing because Cam Patterson's on there now, and I know Cam,
and they're just using him as a prop right now.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
Essentially like he was in sketches.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
He was in a couple of sketches, but as a.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Prop like not really doing anything at all other than
just a quick response.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Well, it's difficult to get actual time on Sorry Live,
you know, like you got to really.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
I guess, but they they he was just there as
like a gay husband, yeah at one point, and then
also just hand hands like just talk to a guy
about a grill real fast. I'm like, man, that kind
of sucks you stuff to be there do all that
work just to.
Speaker 5 (14:56):
Do I think you have two lines.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
I think you could do your time. He's only been
on there for two weeks.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
What do you want them to do? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (15:01):
Anything?
Speaker 2 (15:02):
That wickline girl she only gets a couple segments a
couple of words as well.
Speaker 4 (15:07):
And I mean, you're rooting for your guy and everything.
But he's got to make his bones about it, and
he's got to he's got to make in a room
of giants, he's got to get their attention, yeah, and
make them want to include them, because that's the other
part of it. Have you got to partner from the
stories that we've ever heard, Some of the best collapse
that we've ever heard there is that they someone you
become buddy buddies with somebody that's a strong writer, and
(15:28):
then they start writing you into their stuff.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
I was surprise he was in a couple of sketches anyway, Like,
because when you're new like that, sometimes you never get
you never get in a sketch.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
Yeah, there's I don't know who they're new, like white
guy is, but he was in a couple of sketches.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
I'm like, I don't even know this guy's name or
let alone that he was on this show.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Yeah, I don't know. I don't know, and I just like,
I feel bad old man yelling at the cloud. I
don't think bo and Yang is funny.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
I know I don't either.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
And he seems to be one of the most popular
guys there.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Yeah, but is he popped with the people or is
he popular with the cast.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
It seems as if he's popular with the cast. I've
never met anybody that goes, oh my god, bow and
Yang is hilarious, Like, yeah, I agree, I get it,
I agree with you. But he's really popular with the cast.
They love him. Yeah, And they did that. They did
the weekend update, and then Amy Poehler brought back Tina
Fey and then Also, what's the other the guy seth
(16:25):
and they did a joke off that was pretty funny.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
That was That was a good That was a good
little segment.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Other than that, the sketches, Yeah, weekend up, there's always good.
This is the first time where I had no idea
who the musical artist was, and I'm like, yeah, I
must be an old man.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Now I want to ask Angel about that.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
Okay, they had a musical artist and his name was
like role Model, And when they showed his picture, I'm like, oh,
he must be a rapper. And then role Model comes
out and he was. And I'm I'm not being derogatory.
I'm just saying it was like a gay country guy,
like a gay country singer.
Speaker 5 (16:55):
Well he's not gay, but he had shiny denim jeans.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Well, if he gay, he's missing a good shot at
it because he's surely.
Speaker 5 (17:03):
He seemed he would make a great gay guy.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
He'd make an awesome gay guy because they seem like
a gay country He's not gay, No, he's not. Well,
you looked it up.
Speaker 5 (17:11):
I had to.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Okay, Well, the fact you had to look it up
don't make me feel bad.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Yeah, cool, I mean I watched it and they built
this weird little barn scene for him, and then Charlie
xc X comes out. But he had like shiny, not
rhyinestone just his jeans were actually just shiny glitterally.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Yeah, that was yeah. And the way he was dancing
and stuff, I'm like, oh, he seems like a Have
you ever heard of role model before?
Speaker 3 (17:34):
Have not?
Speaker 4 (17:34):
Ross? Yeah? I never heard no reason for me to
hear of that guy.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (17:39):
Is he a TikToker that got famous? I literally don't know.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
At least when somebody goes on there, I have some
kind of semblance of who they are, and this is
the first time I'm like, wow, I am Talker.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
Pillsbury, also known professionally as a role Model, is an
American singer, songwriter, and former rapper. After self release sing
his debut Extended Extended to Play Arizona in the summer
of twenty twenty seven. He's earned the following online and
signed to Interscope Records in twenty eighteen. So he's been
kicking around for a while.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
So he was a rapper. He did two country songs
though well.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
He started off as a rapper Russ and then he
turned country.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Some of the worst tattoos I've seen in a while
on a person that's weird.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Okay, she's not a gay guy. Well, I I corrected.
Speaker 5 (18:24):
A nights you want to kiss his face?
Speaker 2 (18:26):
No, it just seem his song seemed pretty gay.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
Did he do Sally when the Wine runs Out?
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Yes, Sally when the Wine runs Out.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Yeah, that's when Charlie XCX came out. And she didn't
sing or anything. She just kind of danced around and
acted like she was Sally.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
So that's the reason why he's become popular. His hit single,
Sally When the Wine Runs Out, it has become a
cultural moment, largely thanks to its viral bridge where during
live performances, he brings an audience member or celebrity on
stage to dance with him. The combination of his playful
TikTok persona under the alter ego St. Laura Yet cowboy
(19:01):
catchy lyrics, and Einstein's charm, and he's turned to a
favorite to the gen zers. Okay, all right, yeah, so
there's absolutely no reason why I should know this guy.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Yeah, well, you keep up on current stuff, angel I
rely on you to keep up on curtain stuff like
then I don't have to.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
I figured you would know, Nope, it's too much.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Now you can't know every TikTok singer and all these
people that have nine second songs and become super famous.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
Seems like that's a part of it where it's where
it's tough, like you can find you can find musical
artists on any of these platforms that are like insanely huge,
but they haven't done anything except outside of their social
media platforms.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah, you know, yeah, well you know.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
And the last week, one of the big things was
that the what's the K pop demon Hunters were on?
Speaker 1 (19:52):
That was like a big deal. Uh.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
And then I'm looking and they just came out with
a list of the top ten Halloween costumes this year?
Speaker 5 (20:00):
Is it all k pop? Is it the three girls
on the Saga Boys?
Speaker 1 (20:03):
And oh my god, I don't know any of these people,
like like like I get and then like I don't
know anything about Demon Hunters, right, okay, but number one
is Rummy. Rummy is like.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
That's the most popular costume this year from K pop
demon Hunters. I don't know which one Rummy is. And
then okay, of course, well I should know that Zoe
is number two, Myira is number three, Junu is number four.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
All they okay?
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Then Baby Saga is number five. Uh now, something that
is not a K Pop demon Hunter in number six
is a chicken jockey from Minecraft.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
I know what that is.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
And then uh Loubu from the from the.
Speaker 5 (20:49):
Love Boo Boo Love Boo Boo.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
Name, uh Reb the tiger from K Pop Demon Hunt.
It's all demon Hunters the most popular thing for adults
and children.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
You ever watched the second and this have you not watch?
It's been number one on Netflix for like two months.
Speaker 5 (21:08):
The only enjoyable watch it's done that.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
It's done by the same guys who did into the
Spider Verse for the animation, so it's like super well done.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
I turned it on to be honest, I turned it
on and it was on for three minutes. I'm like,
this is good for you, stupid, I ain't watching this.
Uh elba elf ba elf ba from Wicked is number nine.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
People are gonna dress like her. That's the you know,
the the you know, the Wicked, Wicked Witch of the
West or whatever.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
And then the Lora Axe for some reason is in
tenth place, the Lora Axe from Doctors books, Like why
is he?
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Why is he up there?
Speaker 2 (21:44):
There's no Batman, there's a Superman, there's no Spider Man.
There's no Guardians of the Galaxy this year, it's all
the Demon Hunters are in the in the top for costumes.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
I think you should give it an the past of
three minutes because it's boring when it starts out. I
thought the same thing too, And by by the about
halfway point, I was like, this is a great movie.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
I think I'm gonna dress this role model.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Can put a bunch of tattoos on and some shiny pants,
dance around with Charlie X.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
I still think, and you don't have to do it.
We should all dress like each other.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
No, yeah, that'd be fun man, fun for who like,
I'm gonna do it either way.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
You can, you can.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
That's that's the freedom of Halloween. You don't want someone
to tell you how to dress. You want to dress
like you want.
Speaker 5 (22:31):
But it'd be fun if we all did it, Like, uh,
you know, you.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Can cry about it all you want when I'm not
doing it. I don't think Age is gonna do it either.
If you tell I.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Don't know what your angle is on this, but it
seems it seems like you really want to insult guys.
Speaker 5 (22:44):
I hate fun This year, I don't know if I'm.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Gonna dress fun. I look when we do.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
By the way, there's still a couple of tickets left.
I was supposed to mention this we I've been like
ten ten left for the Monster brewbus and it is.
You know, you can dress up, it's not required. But
when I realize it's not required, I want to dress
up now.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
But when you tell me I have to, then I'm.
Speaker 5 (23:05):
Going to not dress up like a baby.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
Yeah I'm like a baby. It's brought to you by
m n C Fence.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Just call mo MCA Transportation and we're gonna be leaving
on It's the twenty fifth October twenty fifth, going to
Lake County.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
It's gonna be a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
But when you pressure me to want to have to
dress up like somebody from the show, it makes me
not want to dress up.
Speaker 5 (23:26):
Why because because you have that I.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Don't want to be told what to do.
Speaker 5 (23:31):
Yeah, you have that.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Thing that I have, but you make fun of me
for where It's like the second you tell me to
do something I don't want to.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
Do, I'm gonna be just fun. Russ. I'm wearing fun.
Speaker 4 (23:40):
What'd you say on Friday? Wacky? I think you said wacky.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Wacky fun Russ you waiting took.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Like, how's that any difference than any other day.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
I'm gonna I figured out yesterday what I'm gonna wear.
I'm like, oh, that'll be fun.
Speaker 5 (23:52):
The roo buses in two weeks.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
It is.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
It's not this Saturday, but next Saturday. This Saturday is
the is the fall festival. I got that to do.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
But we just started decorating yesterday for Halloween, and and
all of a sudden, I hear my wife like in
the other room and the dog is like barking her
head off, just going nuts. And I'm like, I don't
you know, the app on my phone didn't say the
doorbell went off or anything.
Speaker 5 (24:18):
So I go in.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
I'm like, coming out of my office, go check the
living room, and my wife we have full size skeletons,
and she's sitting there on the couch. She's in the
middle of two skeletons, and she's like trying to get
the dog to smell the skeleton to calm down. The
dog is loosing his mind at the skeletons, Like what,
you're traumatizing this poor dog? She's like and she's like, no,
(24:40):
I just wanted to know it's not a person, and
so she's like not chasing the dog around with it,
but like like, come here, just smell the skeleton.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
It'll be fine.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Those big skeletons are a big deal.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Like, I guess you can give a home depot and
you see him all over the place.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
I like them.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
It's a whole culture with those. There's people that don't
ever take them down.
Speaker 5 (24:58):
I kind of want to be those people.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
Yeah, there's there's it's around town. You see people where
they well, they'll incorporate that skellingt into every holiday. Yeah,
and they don't take it down. There's a couple of
businesses that have it. I drive by a business in
Longwood that has it out in front of their business
all the time. Yeah. I like that.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
There's a house down the road that has it and
they dress them for Easter, for Christmas.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
It's a whole thing. But I'm also like.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
Those people are crazy awesome.
Speaker 5 (25:26):
Because we have the front porch with two chairs. I
could do that. I could dress them up all year long.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
Yeah, I got that. When I'm done this Friday or
this Saturday. Out of Mount Door I'm taking a skeleton
or my scarecrow with me and putting into probably you
here's the thing.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
I'm not putting anything in front of the house. Everything
is in the house, like in the courtyard, in the backyard,
in the house. And I told Mary, I said, well,
no one's gonna see this with us. This is it.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
Listen to your property pretty far back from the road.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
No, it's right on the road. It's right on the right.
Speaker 5 (25:54):
You think you'll get trigger treats where you live.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
They say there are no trigger treaders where I live
at all, like O neighbors, and we didn't for years.
We have not gotten one. So I don't have a
trickle treaters to worry about. But I think we're we're
just gonna get in the boat and go over to
old man Franks and they're doing like a big trick
or treat thing there. And I guess we can decorate
the boat, you know, for Halloween.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
And there's like a boat parade.
Speaker 5 (26:16):
Oh nice, like.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
A Halloween boat. Yeah, it'd be cool, it'd be good.
But yeah, if you get a chance to go check
out the parade of scarecrows this coming Saturday. It's a
big fall Festival. I'm gonna be there in Mount Dora.
It's going to be awesome. They got music by cat Ridgeway.
Family Fun Activities. Downtown is going to be all, you know,
with the whole parade of Scarecrows. I know we have
(26:39):
over twenty one scarecrows and I think people are still
bringing them by, so you know, if you do that,
that's awesome. And I heard the drone display is amazing
and awesome and all of that will be in Mount
Dora this week. So looking forward to saying hi to everybody.
And I will have copies of my children's book I wrote.
If you want to get a copy of that for
the holidays, I'll be signing those and it should be
(27:00):
really really cool. We'll take a little break, we'll come back.
It's time for news from the headlines. Don't go anywhere.
You're listening to the Match of the morning. Hey, if
you missed the keyword it was bank, b A n K,
you still can.
Speaker 1 (27:17):

Speaker 2 (27:21):

Speaker 1 (27:24):
That's your keyword. Good luck. We gave away one thousand

Speaker 4 (27:27):

Speaker 2 (27:28):
The entire radio station is given away several one thousand dollars,

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Hey tomor guys on tomorrow show, We've got uh. This
is a gimmick we worked out and that the chef
kin is gonna bring us corn dogs and we're doing
a corn dog wine pairing with Russo the the wine
Diva will be here uh to see if she can
match wine with corn dogs.
Speaker 5 (28:20):
And I'm told dipping the corn dogs of wine.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
That these are special corn dogs again Chef Can.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
Special with the corn dogs.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Uh and uh and we're do wine pairing with the
corn dogs.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
Is a National corn dog Day. It is not the
National Wine Day. It is not National monster corn Dogs.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
It was just we were hungry. I was like, we
were hungry. How can we talk Chef Can into making us.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Corn dogs genius and and uh and we'll bring wine
dyed in to make us sound francy.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
So we got that happening tomorrow. Uh a news from
the headlines.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Did you guys see where you know today is Columbus Day?
And uh, there's a replica of one of Columbus's ships
that that sunk off the coast of Mexico.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Did you see that?
Speaker 4 (29:08):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (29:08):
It was, I guess off the coast of Mexico.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
They had this this ship that was a replica of
one of his and uh it was, you know, like
a tourist thing. And they launched it in nineteen ninety
two and it was the five hundred, five hundred year
anniversary of Columbus's trip.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
And it was the Santa Maria.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
And they had a Santa Maria there was the others
were the Penta, you know, the the Nina and the
pentam but they had the Santa Maria and people could
get in the Santa Maria and go, you know, in
the bay and they you know, it looked like his ship,
and it sank, and they've got video of it sink
and it now nobody was hurt, so I'm you know,
I'm not laughing at anybody actually uh getting hurt or
anything like that. But it sank a couple of days
(29:49):
before Columbus Day, which is uh. I wonder what that
cost to make a replica. And how do they know that,
you know, do they have like plans and stuff from
because it was five hundred years ago? Like, how do
they know exactly what that ship, the Santa Maria looked like.
Speaker 5 (30:07):
I don't know, they got played somewhere but that.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
There's been a lot of Mexican old time sea accidents.
There was one that hit a bridge. Do you see
that one too? No, Like they had an old sailing
ship or it was like a training ship for the
Mexican Navy and it crashed into uh, crashed into a bridge.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
I didn't see that one. I did see another.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
It was a boat that was attacked once again by
killer whales. Killer whales are not they're mad as hell.
Oh yeah, they're they're they're saying they're sinking ships left
and right.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Uh uh.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
And of course today is a Columbus Day, and the
White House is issued to the Columbus States a new
statement calling it him the original American hero, and that well, uh,
that we're no longer allowed to say anything negative about
Columbus Day. President issued a proclamation reversing reversing Biden's move
(30:58):
to recognize it as in Indigenous People's Day. Here's my
thing about that. Why can't the Indigenous people get another day?
Why are they gonna get a day that's already marred with,
or stuck with, or named Columbus Day. Why can't we
give them another day that's their own where we all
can you know, give you know, love to Indigenous people?
Why we gotta slap it all over a Columbus Day?
(31:21):
Just makes it more confute, It makes it more of it,
It makes it a debate.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
Angel I'm not touching this one.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Why not?
Speaker 2 (31:28):
No, I'm serious though, like question when I give it
another day? Because it's one hundred percent serious question.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
I mean, if you go to the history of it,
there's a lot of history onics behind this and a
lot of again, like what they're trying to do right now,
rewriting of history. This guy was not a good guy,
and I get it. People want to put him up
on a pedestal. They want to do all these things.
He wasn't good, he wasn't good to the indigenous people.
There's a lot of pain and sorrow for a lot
of other people that go behind it. So one way
(31:56):
to kind of supplant that would be to make your
day his day. So that's the thought problem.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
But that creates it into a debate or a thing
or people get pissed.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
I understood, And so that's why that's why I'm saying
it's difficult to have this conversation because there are people
and you know, and it's like this in the debate
culture where we are today, where they feel the way
that they feel and they feel entitled to feel that
way and f your history, f your facts, f all this,
I don't care. This is what I feel, And so
you can't have a meaningful dialogue there.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Yeah, it says that you know, the thing about Columbus
is there was a lot of torture and murder involved,
and that's one of the reasons why a lot of
people are, you know, like, hey man, we're gonna have
Columbus Day. I just think that you know, indigenous people.
You talk about people that got screwed over horribly. It's
the Indigenous people. They deserve their own day. That's not
(32:50):
a part of the Columbus debate, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
But for on one hand, I get it right, like
because it's tied to Italian people. See, like Taliing people
back in the day, much like the Irish people have
Saint Patrick's Day. They wanted something too, so they wanted
a famous Italian to celebrate. And at the time, Christopher Columbus,
we were all bought and sold on the book The
Bill of Goods. He discovered America.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
When I was a kid, that was a Columbus Day.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
And Christopher Columbus was wonderful and the Nana the pent
of the Santa Maria and he discovered this and that brainwashed.
Speaker 5 (33:23):
But like there's there's better.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
And I get it because he at the time, you know,
we're all he discovered America even though he didn't. But
we found that out later most of us as adults, right,
I think you could still do it Italians if you
want like, you got some of the greatest ones, right,
Why not a Leonardo da Vinci day?
Speaker 5 (33:41):
Why not a Michelangelo day? Why not a super Mario day?
Speaker 4 (33:45):
You know those days are connected to the history of
this country.
Speaker 5 (33:47):
Super Mario is super Mario.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
Chef.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Boy, there's Italians that would be offended by well, good chef.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
I'm telling you he brought meatballs to America. I don't know.
Speaker 5 (33:59):
We have a Tony and a day, Okay, some something.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
Tony Dance is coming to hound. He's kind of been
mean to people.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
Well, not as bad as Christopher Columbus, that's true. Right now,
if I'm in a room and I got to pick
either the Columbus room or the Dansa room, I'm going
I'm going Danza every time, going dance every day.
Speaker 5 (34:17):
So there, so there's a lot.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
But yeah, I see we're saying Russ because if you
don't know the history of you're like, well, why is
it on the same day.
Speaker 5 (34:25):
But it's purposely meant.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
To be on the same day, because you know the
murders and the rape and assimulation, the forest version of that.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
But then the people that go against it seems like
they're they're going against the indigenous people and then the like.
So so once again indigenous people get est.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
On, you know, they don't get it like a hay.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
How about it?
Speaker 2 (34:44):
How about a day will we actually you know, give
love to and and respect for what we did to
these horrible you know, the horrible things we did these people, uh,
and not put it. Make it a part of.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
The Grand Columbus Day and the grand scheme of things
like the doing the day would be a place to start.
But also how about the you know, we could start
honoring all the treaties that we signed with them, with
indigenous peoples.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
Then we'd have to give stuff back exactly.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
You see what I'm saying, So like like you want
to this is the day they chosen because it commemorates
or it marks the day of the of their destruction
of their culture, of their livelihoods and all those things. Yeah,
so that's the day.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
So you know what I always thought as a kid,
I always thought a day for you know, back I
was a kid that called the Indians right, the day
for the Indians was Thanksgiving because it was always like
we sat down and we know.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
As a kid, I'm telling you that's.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
The way it was taught to you was, Hey, listen,
we sat down with the Indians and we had Thanksgiving dinner,
and we all got along and it was all like
like I'm thinking, you know, all of.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
Us were giving that.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
You know, Yeah, No, that's not the way it was.
You get old, you realize that it's not really the
way that.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
I hope I'm not canceled at some point in my future,
because I know there's a lot of photos of me
out there wearing construction paper Indian feather hats.
Speaker 5 (36:00):
Oh yeah, I mean, buddy, I'm gonna get canceled real hard.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
We use our hand to make a turn turkey, and
then you may and you put the you know, like
a headgear, you know.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
Like yeah, you stay pulled the construction paper and you
put the little leaves in it or the feathers.
Speaker 4 (36:16):
The vest out of the garbage bag. Did you ever
do that one for the Pilgrims? Yes? Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:21):
And then when I was a kid, I didn't go.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
I really wasn't a part of the the the boy
scout or whatever we did Indian guides, right, And so
my dad took us to any guy.
Speaker 5 (36:33):
We all need a bunch of Indian guys, you.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
Know, we all dressed up like Indians, the loin cloth
and the heads dress and the whole thing, and we
just like Indians went camping.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
And you know, as a kid, you're like, okay, no
big deal. Was cool, you know, yeah, I got picked.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
I got pictures of me and my dad dressed like Indians,
post getting ready to go camping.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
If I can, my mom, I'm sure post them.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
Coward Award, Celebrate Columbus Day and post your photos cowards.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
Hey, times were different back then. We didn't look at
it that way. Right, Like I was on the radio
the first time I heard anything negative about Christopher Columbus.
I'm like, well, what do you mean negative about Christopher Columbus.
Oh yeah, he raped and pillage and did all this.
I'm like, well, we never talked about that. At the
Linson Elementary hand turkeys, hand turkeys. Yeah, and we all
ate Thanksgiving today the other Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
I always think like I was mad because we would
do like Christopher Columbus stuff as a kid. And they
had the three ships, the Nina, the Penta, the Santa Maria. Yeah,
obviously the one you want to be on is the
Santa Maria.
Speaker 5 (37:29):
Why that's the coolest one.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
It's the one they just sang, I know, but like
I remember, they would divide us up and they'd be like,
all right, you kids are in the Pina, which is
the grossest one, that's much bess than nerd one. The
Nina is like not so good. But if you were
on the Santa Maria, like if I was there olden
times that I get to pick my boat, I'm picking
Santa Maria every time.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
So in my mind, the Nina, the Penta, and the
Santa Maria all left at the same time, and all
three sailed across the ocean together and they were all,
you know, like a little we discovered America. That's probably
not the way it happened.
Speaker 5 (38:00):
No, they didn't roll together. You might be blowing my
mind right now.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
I don't believe they all like sailed together and were
high fiving and look, we're finding in America.
Speaker 4 (38:10):
I don't think he's like he's saying, it's not a
rosy story.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
I thought it was this rosy story of the Nina,
the pent In, the Santa Maria, and Christopher Columbus was
in charge of all of them, and he would, you know,
go back and forth to all the ships and make
sure everybody was okay.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
I don't think that's the way it happened.
Speaker 4 (38:24):
The way that way that Rust remembers it. It was
a sitcom.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
It was a lovely story of finding America.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
Uh and really, uh, Christopher Columbus didn't even I don't
believe he even hit America.
Speaker 1 (38:37):
Did he Caribbean? He never got to Florida.
Speaker 5 (38:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
I don't know why we don't why we celebrate this
man like this.
Speaker 5 (38:44):
It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
He was a Spanish man who got he got kicked out. No, wait,
he's an Italian man and he's too crazy for Italy.
They don't want to fund him, so to go all
the way to Spain to get funded by them. Yeah,
and then Spain. Oh yeah, they got a lot in.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
History now constant lyon. He was before Christopher Columbus, right, No,
he would have to have been there after Columbus. He
was after yeah, poncet Leon.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
So he's I thought he was the first to actually
discover Florida.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
Maybe, I think so, we don't. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
I know he wasn't like a lot of a lot
of historians say, he wasn't actually looking for the Fountain
of Youth.
Speaker 5 (39:21):
Though that was made up by people who did not
like him.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
Alone actually sailed with Columbus.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
He sailed with him.
Speaker 4 (39:27):
Yeah, they sailed together. I'll be damn Alone ends up
being if I remember correctly, I think he ends up
being one of the first governors of Puerto Rico.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
Did he rape and pillage as well? No, yeah he did.
It must have been the thing to do back then.
Speaker 5 (39:41):
There was no Netflix.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
All right, we're taking a little break. When we come back.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
It's fun for the King of Denmark Ryan Holmes to
make his daily proclamation.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
You're listening to the match of the morning.
