I'm Ross Rolands along with Ryan Holmes and now Angel

Speaker 2 (01:26):
All right, let's get after him.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
A lot of actions are going on with Monster Sports
over the weekend and in the next few days. Up first,
Orlando City locked in for the wildcard match versus Chicago
and that's going to go down Wednesday, October the twenty second,
so in just a couple of days. So going off
of the stats that are available to us right now,
Chicago is favored in this particular match, which is unfortunate
(01:49):
and a couple things for everyone to know. When it
comes to wildcard games in the MLS, they are single
elimination matches between the eighth and ninth seeds in each conference,
hosted by the higher seed. So that's how the Orlando
finds themselves in this particular difficult spot. So hopefully they will,
you know, come be victorious and get the win. Also
(02:12):
on Wednesday, we are beginning of the Orlando Magic season.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
They go up against the Heat.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
That's gonna be Wednesday, October the twenty second, twenty second,
and that's a seven o'clock start for that. So just
in a couple of days, we got that going on
Major League Baseball as the Dodgers are waiting. Yeah, and
we'll talk about that game real quick.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
I was like a barn burner.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
Toronto Blue Jays beat the Mariners last night six to two,
pushing that series to a game seven. Mariner is gonna win.
You watch, so that will find out. There's a lot
riding on the line today for you, Russ, because that
game's tonight as well. Mariners go up against the Blue
Jays at eight o'clock. Speaking of just ridiculously iconic games,
(02:54):
Showyotani put on one of the most amazing displays of
baseball in baseball history. Postry for a singular player. Yeah,
he pitched, He pitched six innings, got ten case, ten strikeouts,
and then as that wasn't enough, hit three home runs
with the third one being out of the park.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah, no one's ever done that before.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
No singularly that puts him in super rarefied air as
the best baseball.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Player of all time, of all time. Yeah yeah he is. Uh,
that's pretty amazing.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
Is he doping?
Speaker 6 (03:29):
Did you got some kind of crazy version of doping
that we don't know about? Can't test for yet because
this is unheard of.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
He's not kind of inane. He doesn't look like he's
that big of a guy. Right's huge, He's a monster.
What are you talking about? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
When I see Aaron Judge, I think that dude's a
big dude. He doesn't look that big to me. Maybe
you know, maybe I haven't seen him.
Speaker 6 (03:49):
Stand if the feats that this man can perform absolutely insane.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Yeah yeah, Shaatani's sixty three, dude, Aaron Judge is sixty four.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Okay, show Judge looks bigger than me.
Speaker 6 (03:59):
For some reason, I feel like, yeah, we're gonna find
out that this man has some kind of like secret socky.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Don't you know what sucks? I will tell you what sucks
about this right and then.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
And this is just coming from a baseball or just
a sports fan.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
And I've done it myself too.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
I'm saying I'm guilty of this same thought process, right, you,
we can't enjoy the moment. We can't enjoy the moment
of greatness because we instantly.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Go there and go, oh, he's up to something.
Speaker 7 (04:29):
No, I'm not.
Speaker 6 (04:29):
I'm not just saying I grew like like my baseball
area was the like when I care about baseball was
the Mark maguire that.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
Not saying that you don't have a reason for it.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
I get it, I.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Understand it, but it's it's it sucks like and it
happens on all on all kinds of different sports levels.
You're like, oh, okay, we're watching greatness, but I can't
even enjoy this greatness because instantly I'm gonna be like
because other people.
Speaker 6 (04:53):
In the past have cheated, because we always find in
a new way with drugs and whatever. I hope my
whole Italian American show tani uh is not cheating. It
would be very disappointing if we come to find out
he was. But we thought the same thing about Lance Armstrongs.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
All these guys.
Speaker 6 (05:09):
When they can do something so superior to everybody else,
I mean ridiculously superior, then I gotta got like my
my alarm bells go off a little bit.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
I mean and across the board. I mean, this is
the thing that's been dogging. Let's take for example, Lebron James.
Everyone suspects that something's up with Lebron James. Everyone suspected
that something was up with Tom Brady, and he was
able to play as long as he played. And any
player that plays, you know, any let's say, quarterback that
plays until the thirty five forty we're instantly thinking that
they're they're doing something, you know, Oh, and we make
(05:38):
the jokes, Oh, they're going to Germany, they're spinning the blood,
they're doing all, you know, And instead of you know, taking.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
A moment.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
And just be like appreciate, well, yeah that was pretty
freaking awesome, you know. So but yeah, Showey h Russe
just adds six, so you know, and Aaron judges six.
Speaker 8 (05:56):
Y five, So he's tall bigger, he's taller, not bigger.
He looks he looks more muscular too. That shredded. Yeah,
I wonder what he's on.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Huh yeah, uh, let's see.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah, let's just get it too. We're gonna go let's
go NFL. Actually, and well.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Everybody's coming at me, go do Dolphins aren't the worst
team because they get to know, when the Dolphins beat
the Jets, they had Tyreek Hill. They don't have Treek Hill.
So yesterday they are the worst NFL team ever in
the history of the NFL. They're terrible. They were a
better They were a better team when they had Treek Hill.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
They are god awful now.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Well, as far as the records go, the Jets have
not won a singular game, I know.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
But when they when the Dolphins beat the Jets, we
had a better team. We do not have a better team. Now,
I'll guarantee you the Jets would beat the Dolphins. Now
we're just going interceptions like nothing.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
So we're getting in the semantics at everything. But as
far as like semantics, it's fact that as far as
the records go, it's there's nothing today.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
They're a worst team.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
They have one win. Russ, Yeah, they.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
The Jets when they had Tarreek killed. They don't have
him anymore.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
You keep saying that, like, I don't understand that as
far as the records go, and they put the standings,
they're gonna put Miami over the Jets.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
And they don't belong there right now because they suck,
all right, So let's get into it. The Rams. Uh, alright,
where are we? Yeah? Week seven? Sorry about that. Rams
beat the Jaguars thirty five to seven.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Oh man, how'd that happen? The Childs were doing so well? Yeah,
they came back down to Earth. Eagles beat the Vikings
twenty eight to twenty two. Patriots all over the Titans
thirty one.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
Yeah, number one baby.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Thirty one and thirteen, and we have Panthers thirteen to six.
Like we mentioned, the aforementioned Browns put it on the
Dolphins thirty one to six. Bears beat the Saints twenty
six to fourteen. The Chiefs beat the Raiders thirty one
to zero. Looks like the Chiefs have gotten their swagger
back now. Colts beat the Chargers thirty eight to twenty four.
(08:01):
Crazy game there. I'm gonna hit the other scores real
quick and come back to this one, Rus because this
still looks to be That was the game of the
day yesterday. Packers beat the Cardinals twenty seven to twenty three.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
That that game was so stressful to watch because I
had so much money on it to win so little money.
It was way closeer to than this shit.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Amen.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Cowboys beat the Commodorees forty four to twenty two. But
the Commodore's will like take a double l there because
their you know, their franchise quarterback goes down with their
hamstring injury and it looks like he may be out
for extended period of time. And what was looks to
be the game of the the day yesterday, the Broncos
come back the Giants, wow, thirty three to thirty two.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
I mean they hadn't scored, they didn't start scoring.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
The beginning of in the beginning of the fourth quarter. Man,
the they were down nineteen points. Yeah, and they come
back put thirty three on them to get the probably
improbable victory and beat the Giants thirty three to thirteen.
So Broncos are five and two, the New York Giants
are two and five, thirty.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Three points in one.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (09:07):
I can't imagine watching that game as a Giants fan, like.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
That would hurt.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
We've got and then today we've got Buccaneers versus the Lions.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Okay, that's why I have my Lions hat on. Did
you guys say that I'm a jinx?
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Right?
Speaker 1 (09:21):
So I had a very nice gentleman, I forget what
was his name, they gave me the hat.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Yeah, a huge fan of the game.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
I even comes five and guy he always comes down
from Detroit, Michigan. He comes and visit us. He's brought
us gifts and everything. And then Ross is messing around
with a guy that's a fan of the ship.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Not cool.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
I'm wearing the I'm wearing the Lions hat. Look, I'll
wear any I like the NFL. I you know, you know,
so I'll wear any reckless with this this is I'm
gonna wear this because I really want the Bucks to win.
Oh man, I'm wearing this hat today.
Speaker 7 (09:52):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
And we'll see what happens tonight because the Bucks are
are they have they lost one?
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Or are they on the lost one?
Speaker 4 (10:00):
Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay Buccaneers are five and one and
they're going to Detroit. It's that Ford Field going up
against the foreign two Detroit Lions.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Hey, before we go away from the we didn't talk
about the Dolphins game that might did you watch that game?
It was absolutely as horrible as I mean, making the
stupidest mistakes interceptions, couldn't even couldn't even they kept fumbling
the football. They they should have benched him. He kept
(10:28):
throwing interception and then the new kid whoever the new
quarterback is the first thing he does throw an interception.
It was as got up and the coach looks so
he's he's freaked out.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
He's like he didn't know what to do.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Like, do you think they're gonna fire Will they fire
that coach at some point they got they have.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
I think they'll.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
I think they're going to try to get through the
end of the season, because here's the dilemma with that, right,
who are you going to bring in? And even whoever
you bring in, you're still gonna suck. You that there's
not a coach, there's not a coach in the world,
in the world NFL coach or whoever who turns around
your season. So either you bite the bullet, suck the
(11:09):
rest of the season, get the number one draft pick,
and then whatever necessary changes that you need to make,
you do them in the off season.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
Well, I think like when I watched a little bit
of that game, and it looked like them Dolphins were
like phoning.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
It in their play. It's the worst I've ever.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Seen an NFL t It was is like a lost
as he be.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
Everything that you're saying is correct, right, But I think,
for like an example, who you gonna higher?
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Yeah, who's going to step into that?
Speaker 4 (11:38):
And I'm sure there's guys that would take the job
because they want the NFL job. That the Rex from
the ESPN that he's rumored to be interested in, Ryan Rex. Ryan,
you still got Chucky out there. Who's it'sing to get
back into Uh, I'll take Chucky, but I don't right now,
I don't think he gets back into the league because
the lawsuit that's happening, you know, he's suing the NFL
(11:59):
and Goodell and it's gaining traction in Las Vegas. So
more than likely that guy's way back into football is
going to be college and there, and the rumor is
with him is that it's going to be University of Florida.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
And what do you do when you when you pay
a quarterback? How many millions? They pay? Two dollars?
Speaker 1 (12:18):
And then he's ends up, Oh man, you're sip your sucking.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
And I think here's the thing, right, And again this
is outside looking at I think the it's easy to
get on to it and and and ridicule him and
get at him about it. But again, if his coach
is weak, if the general manager is weak, if the
ownership is weak, then there's plenty of blame to go around.
It's just that that's the guy that you see on
TV on Sunday and so interception. So it's easy to
(12:44):
u force or aim all your hatred and discuss at him.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
But at this two weeks in a row, he's throwing
three in or seven.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
All right, cool then, but that's coaching, right, Why is
why are they not getting him prepared? What's going on
with the scheme? What's going on with the other players?
Where's waddle in this Wattle supposed to be step up
and be your number one? He didn't play hell well
this week? Yeah, I mean there's he played well last week.
There's a like I said, there's a ton of crap
going on there. But again, when it comes to being
(13:11):
the quarterback, it's easy to dump on him because you're
the focal But.
Speaker 6 (13:16):
Let's feel like you're right though, Like it's not just
to a but it makes me want to go, like
burn the whole thing down, start from scratch because there
seems to be a level of toxicity.
Speaker 5 (13:24):
There's infiltrated.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Everybody agreed.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
What do you do though, because if you try to
do it in the middle of the season. There's no
there's not enough time to fix this. You fix us
in the off season. Our guests are here from the
Orlando Magic. Oh are they okay?
Speaker 1 (13:37):
All right, So we'll do that when we come back.
Don't go anywhere. You're listening to the match of the morning.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Welcome back to the Monsters the Morning.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
We're a radio one oh four point one broadcasting live
and I Radio. I love how it doesn't matter what
I say people want to argue with me.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Now.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
They're like, your team is not the worst team? Okay, fine,
it doesn't matter what I say. Why they wanna argue
with me. I say they're the worst team, and I
still stand behind the fact that when they beat the Jets,
they had a better team because they had three kill
They don't have them anymore. They're terrible now, and it
all showed yesterday. The worst football I've ever seen in
my life. Welcome back more sports, because if we have
(14:30):
college football and a couple of big things happen in
college over the weekend.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
Yeah, we'll start off with just the Florida schools.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
So University of Florida.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
Lost hold on a second, dude, my computer just froze,
all right, So they lost to Saturday or something to
up time. So they win against Mississippi State twenty three
to twenty one. So they get the win, but that
doesn't matter because they went ahead and still fired their coach.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
He did huh yeah, why did that?
Speaker 4 (15:02):
For the most part, I think Florida fans are just
not happy with the way that season has gone, right.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
And so Billy Napier was let go.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
He's got a ridiculous buy out as well, so he's
I mean, don't feel bad for the guy. He's gonna
be okay. But they do beat Mississippi State twenty three
to twenty one, which is again you would have thought
that would have been enough for him to save his job,
but it is not, and he was leg go. And
(15:33):
that's why they had really high expectations for the University
of Florida football this season, rush even with some of
the injuries that they had at the beginning of the season.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
Right. But that's the other reason.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Why you're hearing a lot of rumor going after John
Gruden as him being potentially the replacement for him. It'll
be interesting to see if that, let's say, if that
happens to go that way, if that's if that's enough
to if he's in Obviously he's interested in getting back
in coaching, and I'm curious how young football players will
(16:04):
respond to him.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Yeah, the reason he's pretty tough.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
The reason you do that that that firing now is
again because Penn State just fired their coach. So the
the you know, the the number one job in the
land quote unquote, Let's say, uh is that Penn State job?
And so University of Florida is in the thick of it,
and they are, and they're interested in in Gruden. You
want to, you know, put your h put your name
(16:28):
in the hat and see if you can distract him
from the Penn State job because Penn stated the rumors
are there's a handful of guys he all the way
from uh Nick Saban to the coach for University of
Notre Dame are all dames that are being thrown there
for Penn State.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
So Gruden he never coached a college team before, right,
he's only been in a professional from my understanding that
it's always been NFL, right, right, all right? And then
whatever happened to Jay Gruden? Dude, I know, yeah, I
know he Jay was a coach for the Redskins the time,
and then he kind of you don't hear from them anymore.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
I think he had some unflattering things that happened as
he was exiting that Washington gig. Yeah, there's some other
there's some things that potentially happened with him. FSU drops
their gabe again.
Speaker 5 (17:15):
Seem like some emails or something.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
No, that was there his brother Jay's it was public intoxication. Okay,
we could overlook that in Miami.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
Glad to think that's just a Tuesday a little bit
of drug.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
Lesley last job in the NFL.
Speaker 6 (17:33):
He was a consultant for the Rams in twenty twenty
two and was the offensive coordinator for the Jags in
twenty twenty.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
Oh Stanford puts it on FSU beat. They beat them
twenty to thirteen. Florida State fans aren't happy as as well,
and uh so we'll see what happens after they started
with the season with such a bang. Yeah, but you know,
the wheels are kind of falling off there, and then
(17:59):
we had and hurricanes upset of the of the weekend.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
I did not see that coming, dude.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
I was I was having conversations on Jimmy Show and
a couple other people and I was like, man, this
is a trap game. Every team has that Achilles Hill.
A few years ago, the Patriots Achilles Hill used to
be the Miami Dolphins rus. It was one of the
more bizarre things. Yeah, Miami could be having a mediocre season,
but for whatever reason, they would get up and play
(18:26):
the Patriots, and you could you know, if you're gambling,
you win some money off of that. But yeah, at
the time, Miami was number two in the country. But
Louisville beats them twenty four to twenty one. Miami's dropped
to number nine.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Oh man, one loss, you dropped the number nine. You're
still in to ten.
Speaker 4 (18:43):
And then here's the funny thing. They're gonna be playing
Stanford this Saturday. And like we just said, Stanford just
beat FSU Oh wow, we'll see how that goes for them.
Congratulations of UCF. They got a big win on Saturday.
They did beat West Virginia forty five to thirteen.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Prizate thing mountaineers. Hey bet, take bad mountaineers.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
And then South Florida beats Florida Atlantic forty eight two
thirties as well. RUSS, so, uh, congratulations to their victory.
With their victory, some real quick NHL news. The Florida
Panthers dropped their match on Saturday uh to the Buffalo
Sabers zero to three, and the Lightning dropped their match
(19:26):
to the Blue Jackets on Saturday two to three.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
So and now they were they were excited about the
Lightning down down in Tampa.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
Congratulations section. As the Solar Bear Solar Bears open season opener,
they won against the ever Blades. Oh good, Yeah, so
they got that victory over the weekend.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Very nice. Yeah, And uh, are you are.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
You betting any did you? Did you win any money
this weekend?
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Ran?
Speaker 5 (19:46):
I did?
Speaker 2 (19:47):
I did?
Speaker 3 (19:47):
I well?
Speaker 6 (19:49):
First of all, I went back to table tennis, which
is should have done.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
But when you're going back to table tennis, right.
Speaker 5 (19:56):
I don't know, man.
Speaker 6 (19:57):
I did a lot of weird betting financially and sports
wise because I bought a bunch of bitcoin too.
Speaker 5 (20:02):
I just felt like I got a lot of fomo.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Are you doing?
Speaker 4 (20:04):
Are you messing around with that one app that we
were advertising, uh bet futures?
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Basically, I'm afraid too.
Speaker 5 (20:11):
I feel like I can I'm.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
Waiting for you.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
I'm waiting for you to do that messing around with
that one before I jump in that one. Yeah, there's
a company that we're advertising for us and it's it's
a ridiculous kind of idea. So there, it's it's a
bigre it's clashy.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
And you can bet on anything anything at all, right,
whether it's sports, celebrity wrestling.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
By anything. Right.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
And and you're basically bet betting your your bitcoins or
your you're you're not really betting money?
Speaker 5 (20:42):
Are you? You bet money?
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Are you? Okay?
Speaker 5 (20:44):
Yeah, I believe.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
I believe it's.
Speaker 5 (20:45):
Real, it's real cash.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
We'll see.
Speaker 6 (20:47):
But I bet, let's say my best this weekend, forty
nine ers to win?
Speaker 5 (20:50):
Did that?
Speaker 6 (20:51):
Bet the Packers to win in that Arizona game? That
was a difficult uh thing to watch?
Speaker 3 (20:56):
But uh?
Speaker 5 (20:57):
And then Florida to win, and then a lot of
table tennis.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
All right, we take a break. We have the Orlando
Magics here.
Speaker 4 (21:03):

Speaker 6 (22:51):
What was it up?
Speaker 1 (22:51):
I'm Rous Rowlins along with Angel and Ryan and one
of our good buddies is here bow out Low from
the Orlando Magic and Bo we're doing in a We're
doing a a corn dog wine tasting today. We see
if you can pare wine pair wine with corn dogs.
And they ran you over a corn dog so you
could participate. And I said to myself, I told these
(23:13):
guys I said, I bet you an athlete like like
like bo Outlaw probably doesn't eat corn dogs. You probably
you're probably very particular about what you eat.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
True or false?
Speaker 3 (23:22):
You were almost right. I don't drink wine. I don't drink.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
You don't drink at all.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
The corn dog I will eat, but I don't drink.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
You're you're not going to pair. How you doing, man,
it's good to see you.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
I am doing wonderful you.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
Oh man.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
He shared with us some some really nice hats, uh,
Orlando magic hats?
Speaker 7 (23:44):
What what?
Speaker 2 (23:45):
What style do you call this?
Speaker 1 (23:46):
This is a hat and you can reverse it and
and and you know what bo Outlaw said, He said,
you know, anytime he would come here, there are so
many different people with different sizes, and he's like, oh,
I want to make sure you get the right size.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Of T shirt.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
And that was always a pain in your butt, wouldn't
they had it is a little bit easier. Everybody can
get ahead. Just put it on your head out.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
For sure, for sure. Uh uh.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
And we were talking a little bit uh about football
and uh we both.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
Got to talk about this.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
So he's a Titans fan and uh, how long you've
been a Titans fan? My whole life, your whole life.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
You got it. It's a history of that. You gotta understand.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
Yeah, well, I well they're from Texas, you're okay, so
it used to be the Oilers, gotcha?
Speaker 3 (24:30):
Okay, explanatory. People like, how are you a Titan fan?
I'm from Texas? Okay, Texas has two teams. I'm not
gonna say the other team.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Right right, right, right, So you followed the Titans followed
with the Oilers to Tennessee.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Okay, so there was no team in Texas. Oh well,
not not the Houston. There was no Houston franchise in Texas.
Then come to like five years later maybe.
Speaker 6 (24:50):
So.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
When I was a kid, I always thought that those
were some of the coolest colors, with the Houston colors.
And I know, so I know Tennessee from time time
will do a throwback jersey with those colors.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
But uh yeah, that.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
Oil rig on the side of the helmet and everything. Yeah,
that was that was a cool one.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
We were discussing, like which team is worse and he's
convincing his teams.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
I don't know, Dolphins is pretty bad, bro, We've got
the same record.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
Yeah yeah, so Ortlanta Magic season, Uh yeah, looking looking
pretty good, really good in the preseason and uh, undefeated,
how are you feeling it's preseason?
Speaker 3 (25:27):
Yeah, y'all, y'all, y'all looking at the undefeated. I'm looking
at can we get a rhythm in the in the preseason?
Speaker 2 (25:32):
So so preseason it's it's just practice. Is that like
nothing to really control?
Speaker 3 (25:38):
It's a it's a practice, but it's against another team
rather than yourself, so you do go out there and compete,
and guys are competitive, so they both want to win
on both sides. You want to make shots, you want
to make plays. Yeah, this is what it is, but
coach is probably looking at something totally different. Who can
I play this? Rotasting this time, this, this, this.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
And this. You're trying to earn minutes, but.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
That's certain guys trying to Yeah, just started as you
know you're gonna start. Yeah, but it's probably second your
second string guys. What am I gonna do six to
nine right then? But uh, these guys are ready to go.
And they got a great week because they got three
and four nights, So they played twenty second open the night,
(26:16):
then off the twenty third, then they got the twenty
fourth to twenty fifth back to back at home, so
they got three games of four nights.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
Yeah, so that's tough, and I.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Don't really think it's tough at the beginning of the season.
It's probably once you get late to see three and
four nights, everyone in the NBA is going to have it. Yeah,
But to get it started right at the beginning, it's
pretty good. Because basketball we all say you have short
term memory. If you lose one, you get ready for
the next one. You win one, get ready for the
next one because you can't dwell on the win and
(26:46):
lost too long because there's another one.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
How important is the uh, you know, the staff that
that keeps you healthy and it's the training staff.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
How important is the training staff.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
To important right there because those guys keep you on
the court. But the training staff is a group of people,
your nutrition, it's your strenths, coach, your medical team. So
you got and each one of them under them is
probably about five or six people. So you got like
eight to nine people trying to make sure fifteen to
(27:18):
seventeen guys are ready and capable to go play. Doesn't
mean slow them down in practice, speed them up, keep
you on the side, do individual work. It's a lot
of different moving components in there that those guys and
ladies and men that have to do to make sure
these guys are ready to perform.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
And only your time that you've played, have you seen
teams that, Man, this team would be better if they
had a better training staff. The training staff is one
of the worst training steff and that's the reason because
they can't stay healthy.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Does that affect a team?
Speaker 3 (27:46):
It does, But that doesn't necessarily follow on training staffs
all the time, but it does play a little part
because injuries you can't control sometimes, Right, so some of
those are not the training's as.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Fault, but decided like, okay, they were injured, Okay, let's
get it back on the court really fast and get
out there.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
That's a whole conversation. That's just not one individual. That's
a couple of people having that discussing and talking about
that and working through that along with the player himself.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Right, did you have did you have problems where like
when you when you played, did you have injury issues?
I played basketball the injury What was the biggest injury
that you had to deal with?
Speaker 3 (28:28):
I think I had two of them, but they were
later in my career. One I had a facial fracture.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
How that happened.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
I wear goggles, which was a great thing. So I
got elbowed in the eye. So the goggles saved my
eye because but I actually got this bone got fractured
right up under my eye. So I was out for
maybe to that hill, probably about two months.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Oh my goodness. Hey, something like that do you do.
Do you take personal like that the guy that did it,
or just like as an accident.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
No, I was kind of upset.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
You were you were?
Speaker 3 (29:04):
I was upset. I was upset. Then I had a
fracture of the side of my right above my ankle.
That one the guy did. I wasn't really upset down okay,
because I know, I mean, I know both the guys
who did it, but that one was more of an accident. Yeah,
that was when I think could have been prevented. How
he did. He did something that he shouldn't have did.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
But who did you catch that elbow from?
Speaker 3 (29:28):
No, we're not gonna you know, don't like controversy. I
ain't got no problem with I just try to avoid.
I ain't got no problem with controversy.
Speaker 5 (29:43):
You just like to avoid finds him.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
I got no problem with it, I will avoid it.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
So Orlando Magic season, here we are. It's time again.
What what should we look for?
Speaker 2 (29:55):
What do you?
Speaker 1 (29:55):
What do you because you always kind of tell us, hey,
you know, look for these guys, these guys, you know,
uh anything as Magic fans, we should look forward this year.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
A good seasons. These guys, like you said, if we
can stay on the court and healthy and doing our thing,
that's that's the NBA. If all you you say, can
we stay healthy, we got a good chance. Every team
in the NBA is going to say that. Yeah. And
this is that whole truth of us as well. So
our guys come out and do I think I like
our chances because we're pretty pretty good. Oh, I've seen
my head.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
We got a question, yes, Angel, question for bo Outlaw
by the way, here for the Orlando Magic.
Speaker 4 (30:28):
So how does like you going through this process and
leading up to a successful season. Right now, the word,
the projections and people's estimation of the Magic are getting
out there there. I guess they're saying all the Magic
fifty and a half point fifteen and a half game season. Uh,
there's you know, there's people now starting to pay attention.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
Sports talking heads are starting to mention the magic more
and more and more and like that in the locker room,
because you've been in a similar situation. How does the
locker room? How do the do you think they manage
that level of expectation.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Yeah, that's that, that's tak Yeah, guys, they they go
on expectations of themselves. They know the time they put in,
the effort they put in, that depends on each other.
Oh man, they say we should win for fifty, so
we should win fifty. I think the only time that takes, uh,
really matters is when they downplay you, right right right, Oh,
(31:20):
they're not gonna be this good. We're gonna they're gonna
win eight games, all right. Then you get that Yeah, yeah,
they say you're gonna win fifty that man, don't worry
about that. Let's go out and do what needs to do.
I think it takes this toll on you when they
say you're gonna be awful.
Speaker 4 (31:35):
So why is Kenchrick Perkins hate their Orlando Magic?
Speaker 2 (31:38):
Then?
Speaker 3 (31:39):
I don't know why London man he says.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
He doesn't like he doesn't think they're magic gonna come
out the East?
Speaker 3 (31:44):
Why what it? Because he's he played at Cleveland He's like,
come on, man, he didn't play here, so he doesn't
understand that.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Look on, Manteo, are you are you a superstar? Were
you ever a superstitious guy? Like like you got a
certain I don't know, certain routines, certain things, or you
a superstitious guy?
Speaker 3 (32:02):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (32:04):
Do you believe in jinx?
Speaker 3 (32:05):
I don't. I don't think I was. But if I
if I say stuff, I probably said, well, you superstitious.
I had to eat before I went to the gym.
That superstitis.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Now that's so smart. You have fuel to go to
the gym.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
So uh.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
But when you were shooting free throws right when you
would shoot your free throws, didn't you have a routine
that you would do for your free throws? And if
that broke that routine, you felt like that you were
you weren't shooting well?
Speaker 3 (32:29):
No, No, I really was never shooting well. Really that
was a bad example of this.
Speaker 6 (32:37):
But like Russ is a sports GM, No, I am
not a sports sports I know.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
We've had this discussion because he really is.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
They they're convinced bo I'm I'm it's not true.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
Currently trying to fight it.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
He accepted it. Actually, we've had this discussion. I walked
in there. Okay, I came in the That was the
first thing I said, like, this is what you're gonna
do today?
Speaker 1 (32:57):
Yeah, why you were in the Detroit Lions and reason
is because I like I like the Bucks, but they
think I'm a jink.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
So if I were that this then the Detroit.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Lions with everybody tune in tonight, we see we know why.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Here's the reason. Though we got history.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
We got tons of of history and in facts, that's all.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Didn't didn't know.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
Anything about Caitlin Clark, didn't pay didn't pay attention to her,
got hurt. Okay, three three hats, two jerseys, paid for
the subscription and then she's out for the rest of
the season.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
Now, but they put her back on the court to
go ahead, go ahead, cheer for Miami Heat.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
That's what you do.
Speaker 5 (33:45):
We should put your fandom up for sale. Yeah, you know,
like and then well we'll say tonight.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
Like you know, because I got I got the Detroit
Lions hat on.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
But I just I wanted to say a big shout
out to a cricket camp for the six man Beard
came in there. We got a new new branded logo.
Here take this off.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
It looks good. It's one of our favorite breweries.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
We've done a couple events with them, and that particular
beer is absolutely delicious.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
I wouldn't know. Yeah, I'm just advertising the whole. I
like bo you advertise a bigger don't drink. Yeah, this
was my company though. You know that magic logo. I'm
part of that liketicipating of drinking that alcohol. No, I
don't do.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
Look how small that can looks in your hand.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
You're justosed to be big or something.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
That's really a.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
Big one of those.
Speaker 5 (34:31):
Yeah, but why don't you drink?
Speaker 3 (34:33):
Though?
Speaker 1 (34:33):
Like?
Speaker 2 (34:33):
Was it?
Speaker 5 (34:34):
Was it an active decision that you made.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
He's an athlete, man, I.
Speaker 5 (34:39):
Wish I could say don't drink.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
Well, well, I would think most like I don't know,
most athletes don't drink a lot.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Right, what.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Crazy?
Speaker 3 (34:50):
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Like
I just know I don't drink. I'm not gonna speak
to anybody. How about this?
Speaker 1 (34:55):
How about the corner the corn try the corn dog?
Tell me what you're think? That was a chef in
that mades.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
I saw him.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we invented that private chef. So we
invented that whole silly thing just so we could get
free corn dogs today. But we're gonna pair it with
wine to see if you know, is a pretty good
corn on.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
It's not bad. The crust is a little thin, but
it's not bad. Okay, like double dipping, you'll not dip
it a little bit and just again yours.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
If you're going junk food, what junk food are you going?
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Like?
Speaker 2 (35:25):
What's your weakness?
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Sweets?
Speaker 2 (35:27):
What is it?
Speaker 3 (35:28):
Sweet and sweet sweets? Okayvate cake?
Speaker 2 (35:30):
Oh? Carry cakes?
Speaker 3 (35:31):
Chocolate cake?
Speaker 2 (35:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (35:33):
Yeah? Or homemade tacolo tip cookie? Yeah all me. I'm
your man. I like the salt, I don't like my

of adults now have taken over.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
You don't dress up.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
You don't do that.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
You've never dressed up like as a grown man. Never does.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
I might have put like a mask on, but yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
You don't dress up like that. How do you get
excited for like Thanksgiving.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
That's probably my best holiday.
Speaker 5 (36:12):
Got food.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
It's like the best holiday ever.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
Yeah, I love it. I love it too.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
There's more than Christmas? Do you like more Christmas? Why
is that because it's about family?
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (36:23):
Christmas is about receiving something. Thanksgiving just come around, eat

Speaker 1 (36:28):

Speaker 3 (38:09):

Speaker 2 (38:49):
But you're not superstitious. The jinx isn't real. That's all.
Speaker 5 (38:53):
Just the only bucket you need is CAFC. Buddy, put
the hat down.
