This is always a good gimmick and I like it.
And that is to challenge businesses. Listen. Businesses that can

big schedule on real radio because it's expensive. Let's be honest.
When you're the number one show in town. Uh, they
charge a lot of money to advertise on our show.
But you can get advertisement today for almost nothing. If
you buy ten bikes, come down here and say hey,
I own and Jerry's lawn service and I brought ten bikes.

We'll give you some love on the air. We'll give
you a shout out on the air.

And if you want to, you know, you own a
I don't know, a garage and you want to challenge
the garage down the street and say, hey, Jerry's garage

want to goof on their competitors and say, hey, we

apartment complex, your parents know where you was. And you
know what I'm saying, Like they're going back and forth

on the flat top, he over there. You see his
bike back there. But see, like back back in the days,
we didn't have the luxury of people bringing bikes in,
so we used to do what we do. We steal

full five bikes and we'll top him up and put
him and make bikes and make bikes.

Like, but then again, you know, like, uh, people start
stopping and taking serial numbers and stuff like that, and
the kid just wanted to ride and all of a sudden, well,

kids are gonna steal the bikes or whatever. But the
sad part is no, and it was I mean, you're laughing,
but I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah, it was true. It
was true, and the reason was because they couldn't afford
to get a bike. And a bike met freedom, right, Yeah, yes,
you can get around. And every kid deserves to not
have to think they have to steal a bike to

have a bike day. And that's what we're trying to
do today, is to give kids bikes so they can
have that freedom and and and be like the other
kids who just get a bike for for Christmas, like

He don't pass bless his heart, but he used to
come and he was a white guy, and he give
us doughnuts and stuff. But he'll take us to Disney

And then all of a sudden, uh what's his name?
Oh my god, but he had a barber shop and
uh and and mister Green they had got together and

they had started getting chart the bus and taking us
out the stuff. And then I found out about the
Past Center, and uh, I was doing dirt. But when
I found out about the Past Center, I started boxing.
When I started boxing, I started interacting with a bunch
of kids, a bunch of kids, and then it just
ned on me that, you know what I'm saying, like, wow,
giving these kids an opportunity to see the other side.

I'm gonna ask you about that. And and this is
you know, I know you're your laugh laugh or whatever.
These are real life things right here. Or you grew
up in Paramore and now you've grown up and you're
the employer of the year at iHeart ready right, and
it is a success story. Yes, as a kid, though,
you had some guy come by and just give you
a bike, right, yeah, what did you did you? I mean,

I'm sure there's some kids that don't appreciate it. Yeah,
stupid white guy gave me a bike. But but there
have to be some people that, yeah, really, how to

a sudden, I sit back and I looked and he said,

don't have to steal a dude to this and see
our smith was awesome. He was he was real awesome.
And uh and and he taught us, you know what

our parents, our parents was streat you know what I'm saying,

So I wanted to ask you if you grow up
a Paramore Street and you're a kid, you're out of
a six, seven, eight years old? Hell, how important is
a is a bicycle to you? A lot of us

take that for granted. When you're you know, a little
white kid, you get bikes, no problem?

Hell on that part. Yeah.

But but growing up a paramore, I mean, to have
a bike, how big of a deal was that?
Speaker 1 (33:36):
That was awesome because that was mean the transportation.
Speaker 8 (33:38):
That was also a location device because like if you
park your bike out in front of any kind of
apartment complex, your parents know where you was. And you
know what I'm saying, Like they're going back and forth
to work and they say, oh, Dago Junior over there
on the flat top, he over there. You see his
bike back there. But see, like back back in the days,
we didn't have the luxury of people bringing bikes in,
so we used to do what we do. We steal
(34:01):
full five bikes and we'll top him up and put
him and make bikes and make bikes.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
Yes, yes, sir, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 8 (34:06):
Like, but then again, you know, like, uh, people start
stopping and taking serial numbers and stuff like that, and
the kid just wanted to ride and all of a sudden, well,
it was always.
Speaker 4 (34:15):
It was always a joke about oh, you know, black
kids are gonna steal the bikes or whatever. But the
sad part is no, and it was I mean, you're laughing,
but I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah, it was true. It
was true, and the reason was because they couldn't afford
to get a bike. And a bike met freedom, right, Yeah, yes,
you can get around. And every kid deserves to not
have to think they have to steal a bike to
(34:36):
have a bike day. And that's what we're trying to
do today, is to give kids bikes so they can
have that freedom and and and be like the other
kids who just get a bike for for Christmas, like
the white Hello.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
But see like hello, we had uh, we had a
guy named C. R. Smith.
Speaker 8 (34:53):
He don't pass bless his heart, but he used to
come and he was a white guy, and he give
us doughnuts and stuff. But he'll take us to Disney
and then he'll uh, you know, have bikes and stuff.
And then all of a sudden, uh what's his name?
Oh my god, but he had a barber shop and
uh and and mister Green they had got together and

they had started getting chart the bus and taking us
out the stuff. And then I found out about the
Past Center, and uh, I was doing dirt. But when
I found out about the Past Center, I started boxing.
When I started boxing, I started interacting with a bunch
of kids, a bunch of kids, and then it just
ned on me that, you know what I'm saying, like, wow,
giving these kids an opportunity to see the other side.
Speaker 4 (35:38):
I'm gonna ask you about that. And and this is
you know, I know you're your laugh laugh or whatever.
These are real life things right here. Or you grew
up in Paramore and now you've grown up and you're
the employer of the year at iHeart ready right, and
it is a success story. Yes, as a kid, though,
you had some guy come by and just give you
a bike, right, yeah, what did you did you? I mean,
(36:00):
I'm sure there's some kids that don't appreciate it. Yeah,
stupid white guy gave me a bike. But but there
have to be some people that, yeah, really, how to
fake you feel when some guy you didn't know get
your donuts in a bike?
Speaker 5 (36:11):
Like, how did it make you feel?
Speaker 8 (36:12):
It made me feel, like, you know what I'm saying, like,
whoa what do this guy want? And then all of
a sudden, I sit back and I looked and he said,
he don't want nothing. He just want me to be
able to live a life, a normal life, without the
threat of being stumped, the death shot or steal. You
don't have to steal a dude to this and see
our smith was awesome. He was he was real awesome.
And uh and and he taught us, you know what
(36:33):
I'm saying, how to love and respect ourselves. You know,
our parents, our parents was streat you know what I'm saying,
Like the light come on and you're in in the house.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
You know, you wake up in a coma. You know
what I'm saying.

But with C. R.

Smith and uh and and uh doctor oh my god,
he uh mister Green them on the corner south and

they they helped us a lot. They they helped us

say it did to me. But though a lot of
people have to realize if you got if you got

one hundred people in front of you and you're doing something,

Sure, And a lot of people don't realize that number.

And they think that, oh, y'all got ten thousand people
out him, but you know, only one hundred getting it.
