Speaker 1 (00:00):
Drid called mo.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
This is w t K s F M HD one
Cocoa Beach, Orlando and iHeart Radio Station. Guaranteed human, someone's
gonna get offended. It's just the way the world works.
So hopefully save everyone a little time and or energy.
Here's the opinions that you hear are those of the
host and callers and not those of iHeart Media.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
It's management or advertisers.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
No, no, okay, I'm gonna fight being in a bad mood.
Do I just do the thing? Hold on, they cleared
everything out. They took out, took out my mouthpad, took
out the intro, took out all the bills, all the wires.

(00:59):
We have to rebuild, just so you guys know we're
here live. I'm just waiting for my intro because it
puts me in a good mood. Hold on, I damn it.
I am not gonna let a damn thing put me
in a bad mood today.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
I'm aout with focus on the logs and not cleaning
the room.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
That's everything else I'm gonna. I am gonna focus on
being positive. I don't care how many baseballs you throw
at me, is what I mean to say. Baseballs whatever,
you throw it at me this morning. I am not
letting it put me in a bad mood. We have
a responsibility to put all of Orlando, all of the world,
all of the country in a good mood today. And

(01:34):
Angels trying to find the intro to the show, and
you guys know about that. All the everything was taken
out of the studio. Ryan's been trying to put all
the YouTube channel. It's been a cluster fanagle all morning.
And I Am not going to allow it to put
me in a bad mood. I don't care how many

(01:56):
things they throw at me. Angel Is scrambling to try
to find this open. What they do every year is
and I thought I was gonna email Jack and hey Jack,
they do got the thing where this is twenty twenty six, right,
That's that's all good. And I'm like, no, that's just
Rush being a painting ass. I'm not gonna do that. Yeah,
you know, I no. I did remind Ryan. Ryan, you
know we'll get here a little early tomorrow because oh

(02:18):
I think we found it. Hold on, pretender, this happened jess.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
N twenty six, twenty twenty six.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Here you go. You wanted the best, you got the best.
O a suck show in the morning anywhere in the country,
yet some answers mornings. We're Radio one oh four point
one broadcasting live, live, live, live on the iHeartRadio app,
chanatail live on the YouTube channel. Are we on YouTube? Ns?
Oh one? God damn like good? All right, we're on
on YouTube and uh back and doing the thing. Hope

(03:00):
we remember how to do this. It's been the half
of a month and mayah forgotten, but maybe not. I
think it's gonna come to me after thirty four years,
thirty three years, whatever the hell. I think we'll got.
I think we got this and we hope you're all.
There a lot of texting going on this morning. Thank
you guys. Glad you're glad you're back with us. We
got to make sure we get all that audience backed

(03:20):
and we appreciate you guys being here.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
What is up?

Speaker 1 (03:23):
If you want to check us out on our YouTube channel,
Real radio manters on YouTube. If you want to check
us out on the iHeartRadio app, that's easy. Remember you
can leave a message when you do that, and then
you can text us at seven seven zero three one.
That's seven seven zero three one, And I've been texting
people back already this morning. I know Angel will text
you back as well. If you want to chat on
the YouTube channel, you can do that. That's Ryan's department

(03:44):
and we will handle all of that. What was up, y'all?
It's twenty twenty six. I'm Russ Royland's host of the
program and with the fellas, we're doing this until eleven.
Here's the producer of the Angel Vone, Angel of A
and Kungo brymart ryder hol Loom. I hate when Ryan
when Angel makes that face that he made. When when when?

(04:05):
When the when the thing wouldn't start? I told her,
I told Brian, I said, I, hey, when he makes
that face, that face is He was confounded. But but
so you know, we're gone for two weeks, and you know,
for whatever reason, they decide they're gonna deep clean the
studios and they're gonna change everything for twenty twenty six.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Cubs on the floor.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Oh yeah, I noticed that. They they said they they
said deep clean. There's still crumbs on the floor.

Speaker 6 (04:34):
Now what they did is just move stuff and disconnect
stuff that was important to the show.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Did they not have a vacuum cleaner? Yeah, they're gonna
deep clean. I would thank you, vacuum, but whatever, I
would have came in and done it all. I kept saying,
this morning, I got here at four forty five. Yes,
I'm a nut. I got here for forty five. I
knew things were going to be discombobulated, so I got
here a little early. And as I got here, I
kept saying, I'm not gonna let this put me in
a bad mood. I'm not gonna let this put me.

(04:58):
I'm going to be in a good mood today. We
got a show to do. We got to do people
from you know, all over Orlando and waiting for us
to get back back to work.

Speaker 5 (05:05):
And we're back. Uh.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
So I did pretty good. I did not let it
bother me. I had one little thing. There was one thing, Angel,
you don't know this. I didn't tell you. I told Ryan.
Had one little thing that was that was uh messing
me up a little bit. And that was I could
not find my mousepad. Of all the things that you
you know, this is little things with me, you know,
all the things that you would think I'd be bothered about,

(05:26):
because everything was out of this room, right, I could
not find a mouse pud not for nothing. And I'm
over there looking for mouse pad. And so I'm rearranging
stuff and I'm putting everything to because everything was discompaliulated, right,
like all the banners were not with the banners, and
all the wires were not with the wires, and so
my ocds like, well, I gotta at least put everything together.
All the pictures need to be with all the pictures.
Could not find a mouse pad for nothing. So don't

(05:49):
tell anybody. I went over that studio over there that
they don't use. Nobody's using that studio over there, clean
that one, and I grabbed that rollins. He's a mouse
pad today. So anybody asked, who stole that mouse pad
over there? You know nothing. I don't. I couldn't tell you.
I have no idea who stole that mousepad?

Speaker 3 (06:07):
I'm bringing on from Iowa.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Yeah, bring your own down. That's bad. But uh man,
it's good to see you guys. I gotta tell you
it was two weeks now. It was a perfect for me,
a perfect two weeks. We'll get into that. We're gonna
catch up with everybody. We're gonna catch up with you guys. See,
how y'all did I want to find out about you know,
Angel looked like he had a wonderful time with his
family and kids. And we know if you're gonna talk

(06:31):
about that, but I'm really curious about that. And Ryan
really happy for you. Bro. Looks like you had a
great time. I had a great time. Let's do this though.
Let's let's start from where we left off, and that
is that we're heroes, that whole part. Let's start there
real quickly, because you know, when we did our big
fundraising event for the Coalition for the Homeless, I was

(06:52):
hoping and not really, not really sure we get to
twenty four thousand dollars and they were relying on us
and help them out and get up to twenty four
one thousand hours. A lot more people were homeless this year,
had more problems with a lot of people displaced, and
they needed more help than they needed before. I'm like, man,
I hope we're gonna be able to do it. Man,
that last show, it was a Friday show. If you
didn't catch it, couldn't have been couldn't have been better.

(07:15):
The all the entertainment, they all were wonderful. I just
got a nice, a nice card from the guys from
the Music City Rejects who performed. They were great. All
the bands that performed were absolutely great. The Bad Sannah
and the angry Ls. Oh my god, that they killed it.
I'm just everybody that performed, and I'm probably gonna forget
because I'm all amped up. But who am I forgetting

(07:38):
to think? Oh my god, they were great. Cad Uh
let's see uh uh.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
She was in our singing competition.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
That's the Reject Rejects.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Oh that's Music City reject Yeah yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Heather Kin twelluh who else?

Speaker 5 (08:00):
Man, if we've.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Forgotten, I'm sorry Martin. Oh the band that Justice Martin
came with him. But the Jazz band Kids.

Speaker 7 (08:07):
Oh yeah, they were They were the first performers, the
former Rejects.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
I don't remember their name.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
I don't remember them either, but they were wonderful. And
I'm sorry I forget. I know Lady James her Son
and they and they. I made him learn the songs
the Peanuts song really quick and they did it and
they killed it. Anyway, everybody was wonderful. Savannah did great.
Ryan you you you and Savannah. It killed it. You know,
I'm just it was all the way around, a great show.

(08:35):
And we do got to think all of our big donors,
the guys that you know donated, like just call mo.
I mean he he did a whole gimmick where he said,
during Ryan's bit, anyone that donated money, he was gonna
match it. And he probably regretted that after because that
really put us over the top over thirty thousand dollars

(08:55):
raised for the Collies for the Homeless game. And you
talk about setting me off, you know, for a good
vacation and in a great mood and like, man, okay,
well then we did something, you know, like like that
was that was amazing. It went together great. You know,
Angel did a great job and with the sound and
everything that because I know there was I know that
you know it was. There were some difficulties, you know,

(09:16):
because I'm like, hey, we need to have this sound
and that sounded, and Angel like if it's gonna back,
you know, we're gonna get all the buzzing and stuff.
And I get a little demanding at times like that,
but he made it perfect. Ryan, great job with all
the video. If you didn't get to watch it, Ryan
did a great job on our YouTube channel, proving that
we should be on a Netflix show, proving that if

(09:39):
other shows are doing it. For Christ's sakes, that the
work you did that or you know, that day showed
that we deserve to be on a on a platform
for sure if they're if they're doing iHeart platforms and
iHeart shows, twenty twenty six is gonna be the year
we pushed for that. That's that's one of my resolutions
to push for that.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
I got that email right from our PD.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
No.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Yeah, those conversations are going to start happening now.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Oh good, Oh I didn't see that. Okay, well that's good. No,
that's my well, well there you go, half my halfway there,
I mean, not even audience.

Speaker 7 (10:11):
When that news broke, I scream grabbed everything and I
sent it to because I had been screaming for that
for the last year. I was like, hey, you guys
said I need to put us up. And we had
a meeting about thirty days before this announcement was made.
And so even the guy that was sitting in that meeting,
there's no way he didn't know that this announcement was
around the right around the corner.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
An you know, when you're in when you're a big
wig like that, certain things you can't say you got
to know. But but yeah, you know, if platforms are
screaming for, you know, some sort of content. I mean,
we got some sort of content that's prettydamn good. Call
us are understand is because we should be on platform
Well well, anyway, so great job with the video of it.
I mean, this is just a big pat on the

(10:50):
back to ourselves, guys. But I had to say it
because I was so happy with raising. And I think
we're over thirty one thousand from what I heard. I
keep saying over thirty thousand. I think we're over thirty.

Speaker 7 (11:01):
If any of the numbers or anything, we're still working
because I replayed that show the following Friday.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
Yeah, and typically we get a little bump from that
as well.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Yes, I don't know. See someone told me it was
over thirty one thousand. I don't know the exact number.
I know there's a bunch of stuff out here that
people bid.

Speaker 7 (11:15):
On the rises that if they need to come and
pick up. Yeah, they got to pick those everyone who
all you guys who won your auctions? Uh, yeah, you
need to start today swinging by the radio station and
emailing and letting people know that you're gonna come and
pick up your prize.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Guys, we forgot and Doug, ye, God blessed Doug. And
miss Moster Burlesque. Oh my god, she can sing. Uh,
that's not BB Calimber because BB couldn't make it. Dream
of little dreamer or dream a little dream a little
beautiful voice, and her whole family was there watching and
she was singing. It was wonderful. That was awesome. Who

(11:50):
else someone says, tight Jimmy, who's tight Jimmy?

Speaker 5 (11:53):
He's making the joke.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Oh that's okay, I forgot about that anyway. Yeah, great, great,
think we got to think once again. Sponsors like our
friends at Solar Source Rich are from Solar Source who
donated big money once again, just call Mode donated big money.
We had some other folks donate big money, but really
the bulk of it was you guys just donating and

(12:17):
and you know, texting in and all that. You guys
made it happen. I mean, yeah, we can't around and
say we're heroes.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
We are here.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
You guys are the heroes that made it happen. Make
us look good, you know, kind of a thing.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
You guys are heroes adjacent, you guys are friends with heroes.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Yeah, it put me off on a great mood for sure,
for the for the two week vacation that I look
I look forward to that every year, right to actually
have two weeks to sleep in and do what I
want as I want.

Speaker 6 (12:47):
And the only thing is I don't look forward to
this day where I'm like, it's going to be a
long year till that happens again.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Well, that's the way you and I.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Look at Sunday. Sunday ended up like who three hundred
and four days to go?

Speaker 7 (13:02):
Now, man, you look for the next time that you're
going to take a week off. I'm out of town.
I'm going to the jazz.

Speaker 5 (13:08):
Fest this year.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
You know, I'm glad you're going.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
Yeah. So like I've already in New Orleans. Yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Gotta tell you about my trip in New Orleans and
we'll find out about your trip to Texas by that.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
But you can't just sit here and be like just
looking at the nineteenth.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
No, you got to count down on my watch.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
We got days up, we got days up in the
up in front of us.

Speaker 7 (13:26):
We got to make sure, you know, yeah, we got
to I want to say, you got to make sure
your maximize say that every year I did really well
this year.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Yeah, you did pretty well, and then I left fifteen
days on the table.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
You went to Uh you went to Germany or something,
didn't you. Yeah you were. It felt like you were
going for a long time. Yeah I was.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
I was only gone for five, six seven actual work days.
Oh I left. You see, technically I get like a
whole month off. I've never actually used.

Speaker 7 (13:50):
Did you see that thing that was going around where
you like, uh to maximize your PTO days or you know,
your your time off days. Yeah, but back them up
with all the federal holidays black works example, MLK that
you could actually make that weekend into like a four
almost five day weekend if you did it, if you
took the days off, right, that's a smart.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Way to do it. Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 5 (14:08):
I used to.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
I used to do when I had my boat before.
I used to do all that stuff. Now I just
I just because you've got like three months worth, I
got a fun chat. I don't use them, you know,
because I like, hell is your boat. I got to
tell you that story when we come back, I'll tell you.
I can't. I kicked off that Friday with being so
happy and proud, and we uh, we raised so much

(14:29):
money for the Coalition for the Homeless.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
Didn't we go out afterwards? Didn't we go We went
to we went to Walli's.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
We went to Wally's. I forgot about that.

Speaker 7 (14:35):
Okay, Yeah, can we bring back companies buying? Are paying
buying your holiday days?

Speaker 5 (14:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (14:41):
I wish we could.

Speaker 5 (14:42):
Yeah, in particularly when I felt starting with this.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
One, I felt so bad by the way. I felt
so bad because we went to Wally's and uh, you know,
Angel's girl was there and we were all there and
I'm like, where's Angel. He's loading best of you had
to go after we did the show on Friday, you
had like two weeks the best of you had to
load up.

Speaker 7 (14:58):
Well, no, I was doing the podcast and then there
was definitely best up, so there was still I still
had work to do, so.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
You couldn't celebrate with us, which sucked. But we had
Bundan Ryan. Yeah at wally Was it was good. All right.
So take a break. I'll tell you what happened. The
one bad thing that happened on my trip. I'll tell
you what that will happen when we come back. Glad
to be back. Twenty twenty six. Mantras in the Morning
was a.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Because sometimes inviting amongst friends is exactly what you need
to lower the volume on the voices in your head. Alexa,
play Real Radio one or four point one on iheartripp.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Welcome back to the Moss. This morning's We're Radio one
on four point one. We are Love twenty twenty six.
It's two year. We're way too far into the year
to say Happy New Year, right, like that's all done,
Like we're.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
I think you say it up until the first time
we run in for people.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
Okay, yeah, Happy New Year. Yeah, y'all have a happy
New Year. I got a bunch of people already texting.
I'm trying to text people back during the break. Seven
seven zero three one is how you do that? Angels here,
Ryan's here. We're getting everything all situated because they moved
a bunch of stuff around. But we'll get it all.
We'll get it all going. So I was telling you
about the last show that we had on Friday, the

(16:20):
last Friday or not last night, two Fridays ago, three
Fridays ago, whatever. It was the Courtlition for the Homeless,
and that was amazing. Like I said, raised over thirty
one thousand. I'm hearing now one thousand dollars for the
Correlations for the Homeless. I was in a great move.
We went to Wallis, had some drinks, ready to go home.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
You bought everybody pizza. Thank you for that.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
I did. I bought pizzas and we all had drinks.
It was just it was a celebration. It was really
really cool. A bunch of really nice people there. And
so go home and I'm like, come on, Mary, and
let's go out on the boat. Let's go. Let's let's go.
Let's take the boat over to Lego Land and maybe
we'll watch some fireworks later. I don't know. It's it's
you know, it's Christmas break. We can do whatever we want.

(17:00):
Oh for those that if you if you've seen a
pontoon boat, I've got what they call a try tune. Right,
it's got not uh two uh. We call those things
like floaties, the long baffles the long. Instead of two,
there's three of them. So it goes a little bit
faster than the regular pontoon boat. He can go about
thirty five thirty six miles per hour. Uh.

Speaker 5 (17:22):
And it's got a.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Nice little the button that you hit and hit the
button and the top can go up and the top
and go down the top and go up and top
and go down. And if you can, you're going under
a bridge. You know, you gotta remember, don't forget. You
gotta put top down. So Russ is happy, you know.
We went to we get we went to got some dinner,

(17:43):
some lunch or whatever. Resident good mood. And yeah, listen
to Christmas music because I'm in Christmas mode, you know.
And and of course you goes under the first bridge
and put the top down. Everything's good. Put the top
back up, you know. Uh, and then go get some
go to old man Franks, see my buddy Patrick, you know,
can you have you know? And I had like like
one drink, So don't think I got drunk because that's

(18:04):
nowhere near what happened. But anyway, Uh, get back in
the boat. I'm like, let's go all the way to
Lego Land. And we're going and man, all of a sudden,
I'm looking over Mary Ellen, she's looking at me, and
I'm listening to Christmas music and all I hear angel
is I forgot to put the top down. And I'm

(18:26):
going under a bridge and the hold it's bent backward.
I mean, like like a metal is bent. Oh man, Now,
here's the problem. I can't get the top to go
all the way down, so I can't get home because
there's four other bridges between here and there, and so
I'm trying to take it down. I can't get it down.
I end up calling my buddy at Hillman Motors, who

(18:49):
is the guy I bought the boat from, And actually, uh,
I called Alan, and Alan's like, I got called the
owner and the owner gets back to me and he's like, hey, man,
you're never gonna get it all. Let me come and
do it for you. So he comes with a like
a cutter, like a like a metal cutter, and he
has to cut the metal to get it off. And

(19:11):
I made about a fifteen dollars mistake. Man, and you talking,
but I kept saying, like I'm saying this morning, I'm
not gonna let this ruin my damn weekend. I'm just
you know what. And he said, listen, welcome to the club.
Everybody that lives on the winter Haven Chain of lakes happen.
I've all done it. Yeah, Once you do it once,
you're probably more likely unless you really did, unless you're

(19:31):
really didn't, you're probably not gonna do it again. Uh.
And yeah, it was. It was the only bad thing
I can tell you that happened for my entire two weeks.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
But uh, that pissed me off for the rest of
the month. Though you know I used to know.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
I'll tell you I'm a little older than you, right,
and I was saying when I was your age, I
would allowed that to ruin my weekend. I did not allow.
I have decided not to let stuff like that bother
me because there's nothing I could do about it. Nobody
was hurt, you know, no one was hurt. My wife
was laughing at me. We were joking about it, like,
you know what it's I just have to pay to
get it fixed. And uh, and I'm not gonna let
it bother.

Speaker 6 (20:04):
Look, that's my new Year's resolution, man, it's to not
let things bother me so much. And uh, since January
for five days and I can't do it.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
It's horrible. Hardy gave it up.

Speaker 5 (20:18):
You're crushing it.

Speaker 6 (20:18):
Yeah, I know when you start at the beginning of
my year with crap, I'm gonna be annoyed for the
rest of twenty twenty six.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
You know, I'm taking the whole thing. I'm not gonna
let things bother I'm gonna try listen. I'll probably fail
at some point. I'm probably gonna get pissed off at
one point. But you know, but I did not let
that bother me. And I gotta tell you it was Uh.
And I don't have a whole lot to say about
my two weeks guys, because there's nothing bad happened. I mean,
I like, we we had an incredible Christmas Eve. It

(20:47):
was it was so nice this year. We did not
go to Now I love Christeners, but I'm not talking
bad about Christeners.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Well we did.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
We didn't have to get all dressed up and have
a bunch of people and then you got a big,
big bill and you know, like like we did it
at the house and it was calm, and I had
friends over and I love to death, and my mom
came over and my mom stayed for like three days,
which was nice and uh, and it just was you know,
had all the Christmas lights going, we weren't rushed around.
That was wonderful. And then my son, it's the first

(21:16):
it was his first time. Ryan and Ryan Rollins uh
and his wife and beautiful wife Kayla. Uh. They wanted
to hope. They're like, now we want to host Christmas. Dad.
I'm like, hey, not a problem. That's less for mary
home to do and less for dad to do. And
they hosted it, and man, uh you know, uh crush it.
You know, it's just when you get to the age

(21:37):
where you can sit back and and be proud of
your son, like what, man, what a good guy he is.
Uh he ste stood up and did a toast to
everybody and did a toast about how much he loves
the whole family and how he welcomed to the It
was just I mean, I brought a to heer to
my I'm like, damn, I didn't do nothing. I mean,
like I didn't you know, Uh, I just he hosted it.

(21:58):
His wife did a great job. Uh you know my
you know, of course now like Mary Ellen and my
ex wife or Ryan's mom, they get along great, which
is so nice. They sitting there and talked and laughing
and and you know, you would think they would be
making fun of me or goofing on me. No, man,
both being sweet and nice and and uh just all

(22:18):
around great Christmas. My mom enjoyed it. Uh. So that
was you know, that was wonderful. But what we did
was so my mom stayed with us for three days
and then we took my mom home and we left
right from there to go to New Orleans. Take the trip,
and I mean the traffic was was great, no problem.
There was one thing that happened though, this and this

(22:39):
is the only thing that happened in the whole two
weeks that was, you know, somewhat controversial or somewhat you know,
could be a topic. You know. Everything else is just
I'm just going to see how wonderful everything was. But
we're driving and we finally get to I. Well, we
get to jackson Jacksonville, no, not Jacksonville, Talahasse, and we
spend the night and then after that we're on I ten.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
Was on ten myself, I'll worry.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Okay, Yeah, so we're on I ten and you know,
people are going listen, I'm gonna be honest. I was
going eighty. I was.

Speaker 5 (23:06):
I was going eighty miles prou They don't mess around
on item.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
They don't mess up. If you're not going eighty, you're
you're you're backing up because everybody's passing and you're in
the way.

Speaker 7 (23:13):
So yeah, but that's not heavily heavily patrolled. Yeah, if
the state of Florida.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
And that got taken. What they they just would wave
at you as you're going eighty where I was at
no problem.

Speaker 7 (23:25):
Wow, that's crazy because I literally was there a week,
just a few days ago, and on I ten, I
saw massive speed traps.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
So I saw the vehicles, but I was going with
everyone else and I'm like, well, they're im pulling them
over and nobody was pulling You're okay.

Speaker 5 (23:40):
So if you're with the flow, if you're with the flow,
you're cool. If you're solo, okay. I was with the
flow of okay, okay.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
So Angel, So you know, I ten okay so and
and and we're going eighty and you know, there's there's
just one area. It was between Gainesville, probably in Tallahassee
or whatever. And there's a big f on ten ten
on ten I ten, and there's a big medium there,
you know, like like a big grass area. And we're
going and Mary and she's like, oh my god, a puppy.

(24:10):
And I'm like what And I look and there was
a puppy and I mean like a little cute little
puppy in the middle of the median in I ten
now And she said, yah, we gotta stop. I'm like
Mary Ellen, like we're going eighty. They're going eighty. They're
going eighty. Like if we trying to stop and go
save that puppy, we could get into a horrible accident.

(24:32):
We gotta save the puppy. I'm like, Honey, like I understand.
We want to be heroes. I'd love to be Batman
right now, and this is by But this is a
story Ryan where I am not the hero. Okay, I
know you like to point out that I tell stories
right a hero. I am not the hero here. I
am not. No.

Speaker 5 (24:52):
I wonder if it's it's.

Speaker 7 (24:53):
Weird that you're seeing this story because I had this
exact same scenario, really, but it was a kitten and
it was my daughter's the one that saw it, and
she's like, Dad, there's a kitten.

Speaker 5 (25:04):
And again we're going at.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
This with a puppy.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
I know, But well I did the same thing and
it was a baby.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
I win.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
But I wonder if if there's.

Speaker 7 (25:13):
Because I was like looking around, looking around, I was like,
how on the hell does a kitten get there?

Speaker 5 (25:17):
And I was like, is it on? Was it on
this side of the fence or on that side of
the fence.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
I was saying, she's heppy getting there.

Speaker 7 (25:22):
She's like, no, so, but if you went a couple
mile or two up, then there was like a kind
of a like aqua blue farmhouse, like a bunch of
property that kind of backed up to that. And I
was just thinking that probably got away from there, is
the only thing I could think of.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
I don't know how this puppy got in the middle
of You're talking cars going eighty this way, eighty that way,
and I'm trying to explain it, and she starts crying,
and we gotta save that puppy. It's gonna get because
this happened to us once before. I told this story
a long time ago. You guys might not remember, but
when I had the motor home, we were going to
the Panhandle and there was a dog in the middle

(25:58):
of the the you know, the meeting or whatever, and
she wanted me to stop, and I'm like, no, we
could get into an accident if we stopped, trying to say.
And then on the way back we saw the dog
had been hit and run over.

Speaker 5 (26:11):
Did you see a bunch of dead deer?

Speaker 7 (26:13):
Yes, yeah, a lot of dead That's I was like, again,
taking aback we probably saw at least ten.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
Yes, yeah, yeah, I saw a lot of dead deer
on that part. But the puff okay, a puppy or
a kitten. Did you feel bad for not stop? Because
it bothered me that we didn't stop, Because I'm like, Russ,
you should try to be here.

Speaker 7 (26:31):
You got to be a matter of fact about it.
There was absolutely nothing you can do because even if
even if you pull off and are able to come
to a stop, you're gonna cost so much commotion with
all the other drivers that are driving at that clip
and eighty going eighty miles an hour, and then trying to.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
What back up to where you're where the puppy is.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
That's what I told, I said, I said, Mariel if
you if I stop and we go to get that puppy,
and what if the puppy gets scared and then runs
into the into the the highway and you watch it
get run over, then feel terrible. We gotta go save
to the puppy. I'm like, honey, we can't. I am
so sorry.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
I can't even think about Ukraine, you know what I mean? Like,
I don't have time to go get a pumpy.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
What's that like?

Speaker 6 (27:09):
There's like a list of things I can care about,
and that it doesn't get filed under anything for me,
Like I'm.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
Sorry dog you love his nature? There you go, you
love puppies. Stop, I'm not. I'm not a horrible person.
It's wrong with you guys.

Speaker 5 (27:24):
You wouldn't even see it, dude, what are you talking about?

Speaker 6 (27:26):
First of all, if I do see it, though I do, stop,
I have rescued many an animal.

Speaker 7 (27:33):
I'll tell you there's no way you're stopping out on
that stretch a highway on iten, It's two lanes, it's
not a big super highway. And again, if you're in
a pack of cars that they are all doing eighty
miles an hour, the disruption that you would you would
cause pulling off and then trying to reverse.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
You're not gonna do it.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
If that was the dog that cured cancer.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
But by the time it registers, right, by the time
it registers, that is a puppy sitting in there, Oh
my god, and she's talking to me. I'm going eighty
I'm already two miles away from it.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
And then you also own that dog.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
So I looked.

Speaker 5 (28:04):
I din't want to go to the Tekent store.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
Leans Agel what I did was and I said, okay,
if we if there's a if there's a way to
get off, maybe we'll go back around.

Speaker 5 (28:12):
But there was nothing.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
There was no get off.

Speaker 5 (28:14):
There was no Especially after Tallahassee, the off ramps have become.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
Like, that's not true. I've gotten off in Tallahassee many times,
you know.

Speaker 7 (28:25):
And I said, after tallahasse after Tallahassee is like the
last bastion of like uh uh civilization, so much so
that like one of the places that I stopped, I
got off and brought uh pecan plans.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
Hey did you?

Speaker 5 (28:41):
Oh look, these are the these are the best I've
ever had. How I saved them?

Speaker 1 (28:45):
How long did you hear about the kitten after you
decided not know?

Speaker 7 (28:49):
Because because again, so my uh luckily, my daughter she's
a little bit of a gearhead and she loves road
trips and everything. She was just like, oh my gosh,
there's a kitten. And I was like where She's like,
She's like, Dad, you've already you've already passed it.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
So you didn't see it. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (29:04):
I was like, are you sure it was a kid
in this She's like, yeah, it was a little you know,
a little kit and this, that whatever, And then I'm
asking her more questions that she's telling me. She's like, Dad,
there's no way that you're gonna get it. It's like,
we're okay, we're the smart work. Yeah, She's like, we're
way too far. And then, like you said, there's so
many like once you get past Tallahassee, the exits are
fewer and fewer between and far between. Yeah, I mean

(29:24):
cause we I mean literally at that point, I'm probably
about one hundred miles from or ninety five miles from
the exit to get off in Niceville.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
If I would not have seen the puppy, I could
have just said to my many, Oh, she just thinks
she saw a puppy, and I wouldn't have been bothered
by it. I did see it, and there was a
puppy sitting there, and I'm like, how they held it?
A puppy get in the middle of the median like that,
and how did it get over there without getting hit?
And it's probably not going to get back over without
being hit because there are so many cars going eighty

(29:52):
each way.

Speaker 7 (29:53):
But people texting in that apparently there's a lot of
puppy mills up there in that part of the Florida
Really yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
Man, well, uh, you know we heard about I heard
about the puppy several times afterwards on our trip to
New Orleans. But we did, you know, we faintly. We
made it to New Orleans. And I got to tell you, man,
some of the nicest people I had. I had six
Monster fans who bought us drinks, who recognized me, you know,
just to hey, k Rest, but you drink.

Speaker 5 (30:21):
Which is so so nice.

Speaker 7 (30:23):
H What I'm hearing you say is potentially this year,
maybe we should do a Monster's broadcast from New Orleans.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
I would have no problem with that. You know. I
had people sitting on a message message board going, oh
my god, it's so nasty in New Orleans, and so
it is. Look, that was not my experience. My experience
was they pressure cleaned the streets at five point thirty
in the morning. But when I was out there, it
was nice. Every person I met, and I met bed

(30:51):
I met.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
Huh what time you go to bed?

Speaker 5 (30:53):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (30:53):
I went to bed early. Yeah, Okay, that's true. That's
a fact.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
I bet the vibe at night was a little bit different.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
It might have been, but you.

Speaker 5 (31:04):
Stay up late at least like eight nine o'clock one night,
not once.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
It's our vacation, right, judge. I'd love her say, look
at me, it's just like a seven. I'm like, you know,
getting bed seven entire But it was hard days, man, Yeah,
much fas we would go drinking during the middle of
the day. Oh, I gotta tell my drinking store. I
gotta drink a story to tell you. We're going to
catch up with everybody. By the way, I can't wait

(31:33):
to hear what happened with Angel because I saw a
photo I want to ask him about, and Ryan has
some really exciting stuff to talk about it.

Speaker 5 (31:39):
I saw a photo Ryan that I want to ask
him about.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
So we might push back trivia a little bit later
because I want to. I want to get through all
of our our our vacations and everything, and so glad
you guys are there. A lot of texts are coming through.
I'm trying to text you guys back. It is a
blanket text just so you know, because I can't type
to everybody, but I am trying to get back to
all you guys. We appreciate you being there. Don't go anywhere.
You're listening to the mantras in the morning YouTube is

(32:09):
up by the way. You can check it out Real
Radio Monsters on YouTube. I got my uh, New Orleans
shirt on in my New Orleans hat. When I got there,
I wanted to buy New Orleans. I loved New Orleans.
I loved the people there. I met white folk, black folks,
brown folk, met trump of maniacs, met people that weren't

(32:31):
Trumpet maniacs, and got along with and loved them all.
A bunch of nice people. I don't think people are
as hateful as we think they are by watching all
the media, I'll be honest with you. That was my takeaway.
And like, everybody I met was super nice, especially in
New Orleans. I found it to be clean. I found
everyone to be nice. Uh. They've got beautiful buildings there.

(32:54):
I took a lot of you know, I did drive there,
but once I got there, I found it was easier
just to take up with that a bus that goes
around the city. So I rode the bus and we
ended up talking to a bunch of folks. And then
also I took some some uber some lyft you know,
and talked to a bunch of folks and just we
just had an incredible time. One of the things that

(33:14):
we did. One of the days they're on Bourbon Street.
We decided there was only one day. To be honest
with you guys, there was only one day that we
went drinking. Like other times we were just sight seeing
and seeing stuff and just doing doing dim dinners and
museums and all that. But one day we did like,
let's go, we're going drinking today, right. And I don't
know I thought about Angel for this one, because I

(33:37):
know he has respect for the youth kind of thing,
you know. But we went to one of these the
bars on Bourbon, Yeah, and it was and I put
it on my social media and about ten eleven or
twelve young girls come in and one girl it was
her twenty first birthday, right, So they're on Bourbon Street

(33:58):
and they got sashes that hey, you know, Lizzy's twenty
fourth birthday or twenty first birthday. And they're drinking and
they got two guys with him. Right, there's there's two
guys with him. They didn't do the bead thing, and
they weren't doing the bead thing. They were just they
were just having their drinking party, you know. And we're
sitting there and to watch the you know, the like
these young you know kids, you you know, young adults

(34:21):
partying Bourbon Street for the first time. Right, was just
so fun and so funny to watch him and so
one of the dudes that he'd been drinking, right, and
he's obviously dating one of these girls, and they get
up on they get up on this stage and they're
they're you know, they're dancing and singing, and they're celebrating
the birthday. And the one dude's trying to be cool

(34:42):
and he pulls out a bunch of ones and I
and I look at Mary On and I said, oh,
that's this is not a good idea. He's not I
think he thought he was going to impress this girl
by thilling ones at her, you know, because it was
her birthday. And I guess that was his girlfriend. Oh,
she got mad as hell. And I said, I called that.
I knew this. It was a bad idea for him.
And she got mad at him because he was treating

(35:03):
her like a stripper.

Speaker 5 (35:03):
You know, that was not the right thing to do.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
So he ends up leaving and she's just standing at
party and having a good time. We ended up I
end up buying them all shots, you know, and and
Mary Ellen was dancing with him, and it just it
was really kind of refreshing to see these you know, like, man,
they don't know what they're getting into. They just go
they're just having fun. And remember when it was like that,
you know, it's not really like that anymore. They were
all just having a blast on Bourbon Street, and.

Speaker 7 (35:29):
It's cool that is still a thing, Like it's still
a thing to go to Bourbon Street to do some
of these dumb things. It's cool to see young people
still do dumb things. It's a learning experience. A bet
that dude doesn't throw ones that a girlfriend ever again.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
He ended up coming back and apologizing to We're watching
the whole thing, right, It's like a soap opera. He
comes back and apologized to her, and they start making
out in the corner.

Speaker 7 (35:49):
And that's one of those things where like I'm certain
he probably saw it somewhere on some social media and
thought that that was the good idea. Yeah, and then
you do it in real life and you realize, oh,
that's not a good idea.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
Yeah. She let him know, don't you make me look
like a slut. Like I'm like, we're on her and
we're watching the whole thing. And there was another couple
behind us that we're watching it with us. You know,
we were all like the same age, and we were
just laughing and watching these young these young people have
a great time and drinking up and having you know,
having a.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
Kids need to drink more.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
It was super cool. It really was another thing that
we did. I'm gonna get through all of mine so
I can get to you guys that what. But at
the World War Two Museum there's a brand new movie.
It's called four D, but it's Tom Hanks put it
together and it's about the World War Two and the
end of World War two and everything. And uh, it
was you know extra. I'd pay extra to see this

(36:40):
at the World War Two Museum and you had to
get a ticket because it's been sold out for like
we it was so cool. I don't know if I
don't know if they were advertising it anywhere else, you know,
in the country or whatever you when you go to
when you go to New Orleans. Uh, Tom Hanks is
on TV talking about it a lot, like he produced it,

(37:01):
he put it together, and it is uh when it's
when they say four D, I mean like you know,
part of it, like all kinds of smoke comes out
and then part of a plane comes out in your
face and and it just it goes, it goes to show.
Uh you know what happened at World War Two because
a lot of the stuff I was, you know, I
wasn't paying attention, you know, in the history class very much.

Speaker 3 (37:23):
Did that thing where like you storm Normandy and a
splashes water in your face.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
Well they didn't splash water in your face where they
go through the Normandy thing and then and and this
I didn't really realize this. They have They explained that. Listen,
when when Hitler gave up, you know, when Hitler you know,
you know we we give or whatever. If you were
if you were on the other side of the world
and you were fighting Japan, that didn't matter, like okay,
that didn't that didn't affect me any We still are

(37:47):
fighting Japan. Like you know, World War Two wasn't done
when Hitler.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
Uh oh no, not at all.

Speaker 7 (37:52):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's uh well, we were still we
had two theaters that we were fighting. So once we
that was done with our coming to a close in
the European theater, then they started focusing even war on
the second theater.

Speaker 5 (38:06):
Versus Japan.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
And what I didn't realize and I always wonder like
why did we go? I mean, I know what, you know,
we wanted to end the war. The reason that they
dropped the bombs because listen, these guys were Harry carry
they were gonna kill They would commit suicide flying their
planes into our stuff. Like they were not gonna they
were not gonna give up at all. Like we did

(38:28):
them a favor by bombing them because they you know,
they were just like uh, you know, the Kamakazis and
all that kind of stuff, and like, listen, we got
to end this war as fast as we can. So anyway,
it was a really great dum that. That was a
great move. You go to New Orleans and you go
to the World War Two Museum. I highly recommend that

(38:49):
the World War Two Museum in New Orleans. I don't know,
was there some significance there, I don't know, but huge,
it is huge, and it's a big drawl in downtown
New Orleans. Uh, it's a big draw. And then for
and then for New Year's Eve, we drove back and
went to uh, Panama City Beach, which basically pan Yeah,

(39:12):
Panama City Beach might the way they're putting into spring
break there. That was the big story. They're done with it.
They're like because shootings and like all these people own
all this property there and they you know, these are retirees.
They don't they don't want the kids coming and shooting
each other and and uh doing drugs and all that
kind of stuff. But but uh, what was my point.
We met We met a couple, uh that we and

(39:35):
this guy was wealthy, super wealthy, right, and he's one
and and he just he just got engaged to this woman.
And you ever met a couple and.

Speaker 5 (39:45):
You're like, this ain't gonna work, Like you can see
the leaves.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
Like like all she kept saying is how lucky. Like
I've waited six years to say yes, And he's lucky.
He's so lucky he has me. And I'm like, well,
like he's he owns like five dealerships in that Phil.
I think you're kind of lucky too. She said, no, no, no, no,
he's the lucky one. I'm special. I'm like, oh man,
this is gonna be a look.

Speaker 5 (40:10):
Yeah I've been there.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
Yeah, but I'll tell you angel. You know, she she
waited six years to say yes, right, like she had
been married before for like twenty seven years and then
she waited six years.

Speaker 5 (40:19):
So, yes, this guy.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
When Mary Ellen and I told her our story, oh yeah,
we met one day and got married a month later,
she looked at us like we were obviously most of
the world looks at us like we're crazy. But now,
you know, we've been together over eight years. Uh, but
we were trading stories back and forth, but super nice people.
We we went back to their super condo and you know,

(40:40):
and and and you know, had a good time. But
we went home and uh, we watched the Ball Drop
on you know, on TV because what the next morning, No,
I stayed up, but Mary Ellen was asleep. I stayed
up to midnight to watch the Ball Drop with Ryan Seacret.
And look, I bet Ryan Seacrest is a nice guy,

(41:02):
but man, he is so vanilla man.

Speaker 5 (41:04):
That's again, he's he's talked about this. He's it's done
on purpose.

Speaker 3 (41:08):
Yeah, I bet he's nice.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
But all right, listen, we're gonna take a break. We
come back. We're not We're not gonna do trivia now.
I want to find out first, I'm gonna find out
from Angel about his his vacation and you know, you know,
his Christmas. And then we got to check in with
Ryan because I know he had some special stuff happen.
So we're back, we're live. You can check us out
on our YouTube channel, Real Radio Manstras on YouTube. Don't
