Speaker 1 (00:02):
The all new All Afternoons Sweet Booker and Striker podcast.
All Right, Booker and Striker, It is all many age seven,
every hour of our little show grammed here. He chanced
to see the Lumineers in the iHeart Radio Theater. Striker
and I will host this. You'll get to meet the
band as well. That's coming up, but first Striker. With
everything happening in the world.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
The ratings for SNL's fiftieth anniversary show were huge. Watched
every second of it. I'll just stick with two highlights.
Paul McCartney was one. But Adam Sandler's original song called
fifty years. It's about four and a half minutes long.
Let's play a clip and then discuss it a little
down here.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Thirty five years of blood, six years of our boy Farley,
five of our body.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
No, that's nice, Nor mcdonaldy's talking about. So the whole
song was about fifty years of SNL. And there are
some maybe behind the scenes stuff he was singing about,
but I watched the whole thing. He got a standing
O from an A list crowd, and that's hard to
get an A list crowd to stand up and like
show love. They went crazy for it.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Weren't they all standing for themselves though? Because he named them.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
He named most of them. But there are a lot
of non cast members that were in that audience, like
Steven Spielberg and John Hamm and many, many, many more,
Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David. Larry David was part of SNL
for a short time. But Booker, don't you think Adam
Sandler has an amazing skill when it comes to everything.
He's going off the rails and it's kind of weird,
(01:34):
is it funny? And then it's funny and then he
pulls out your pulls out your heartstrings.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
He could pull the emotional card within comedy, which is good. Great.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
What was your favorite part of the SNL fifty show.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Seeing Nirvana post Nirvana? I mean, you know, the Fire
Aid concert was one thing which was nice.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
The fire Aid, right, Yeah, it was nice.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
It was okay, but at no point was that like
running around my hair on fire, like this was great
post Malone's like that one character that really captures the
essence of what Kirk Cobaine was and he has his
own things standing out there and it was moving and
it was wild to watch and it was like I
never saw Nirvana live in concert, and that of course
(02:17):
wasn't live, but I guess that's the closest I'll ever
get in my lifetime.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
And no, that was you're talking to me. I see
what you're saying right now. Here's what I found interesting
about post Malone playing with the surviving members of Nirvana.
Post had covered a bunch of Nirvana songs during the
pandemic and it was just okay. But his performance for
the SNL Music fiftieth anniversary the concert, it was an
(02:44):
A plus. How much better was it then?
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Well, it was that other thing. I weren't people in
their own locations and they were kind of pasting that together,
Like I don't think everybody was in the same room
for this traffic bark. Yeah, I it was all weird.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
It was so good. He did such a great job.
And did you see how happy the guys from Nirvana
were after the song was done. They were hugging in.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
The we're living it like we were, you know, like wow, Nirvana,
Like that's it just felt like And nothing against the
fire Aid performance, but this just kind of felt like
the essence of Nirvana. Sure, it's like because post Malone
just has that thing, you know, he's just a star.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Mark hoppis our guy from Linklin eighty two is selling
his original Banksy painting that's wild. It's called crude Oil.
He's had it for ten years. The estimated value, I'll
give you the number, but it's probably gonna go for
a lot more. Do you have a guess for the
estimated value? Twenty million Dollars's at five million right now.
(03:41):
It's a lot of money. I don't know what hop
Is paid for it, but I'm sure it's a lot
less than that. And if you would like to purchase it,
Sotherby's auction in about a month from now.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
I got a theory on this thing. The fires happened.
I think a lot of people their life was put
in perspective and the stuff that they hang on to,
They're like, you know what, let me let somebody else
enjoy it. I had years with it. I'm gonna sell it.
And that's just kind of like, why would you get
rid of that?
Speaker 2 (04:09):
You take a look at what is really important to you.
Is it this painting on the wall or is it
surrounded with right?
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Five I'm gonna go with the five mil, please, thank you.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
I'm striker. That's a striker, booker and.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Striker, booker and striker. It is all ninety eight seven, all.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Right, the word this hour.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Long piece of papers, green.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Green, take it to all ninety eight One of thing the.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Lumineers page good. Remind people that they could see the
Lumineers with you and me backstage meet the band gets
some merched. That's what I was holding up for you.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
I didn't know what that was. You'd rarely just hold
the paper in front of me your face. I see
it clearly. The only thing that's on the paper. All
I see is no prize picks notes.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Well, it's funny that you mentioned prize picks because let's
check in with our sports department right now, there's literally
nothing happening, and I guess hockey is. And by the way,
this is where we are when we're talking about hockey.
Do you know what's going on with hockey right now?
Speaker 2 (05:16):
The four four nations they're fighting each other on the
ice while the NBA players are chucking it from half
court where no one cares.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Right. So I guess we got in it with Canada
the other day and they booed our national anthem. Then
I guess we beat their ass on top of it.
But we're gonna face I guess there's only four teams,
right or four nations, so we're gonna face them again
and that'll be on Thursday for the finals where you
know what, the winner gets no free healthcare? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Is that?
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Are you being serious? No? Wait a minute, they already
have free healthcare in Canada. I'm like, hmm, that would
be very yeah, I know that, but it's like that's
real stakes. If they're playing for that, that's why they're
fighting out there on the ice.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
But literally, that is the only thing going on in sports.
I mean, it's it was so weird, like just trying
to fight anything to watch all week and long, like
I'll bet on anything. Cricket. I'm like trying to figure
out what that sport's all about, Like that was on TV.
I know, I can't even explain it to you.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I was gonna bring this up later, but I'll do
it quickly now. Since twenty twenty three, the gambling addiction
hotlines have and the people searching for help has gone
up like thirty seven percent. So guys DJ regulating, not me, sir.
I'm so sad, though, I don't know what else to do. Today,
I guess have to work.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Right, there's no prize picks. We I mean, this is
how bad it is. We've been calling Striker because he's
weirdly good at picking golf players, so we call him like,
you know, the middle of the day on Saturday, like us.
So what do you think of Rory mcilvory, whatever his
name is. I have no idea what it is. He's like.
I like him for the over.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
And it's been working. The Yonders. I'm almost undefeated with
giving these guys packs.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
You're on fire.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Let's all I'm on now.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
There's nothing else on all right, So a couple of
minutes away Lumineers, as we mentioned in the iHeartRadio Theater,
they got a new album out. We're talking about that
and everything else. It's coming up.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Booker and Striker, all right.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Booker and Striker on Alt ninety age seven, another hour
of another thousand bucks. The word is Grand Alt ninety
eight seven FM dot com. There's a box, drop it in.
It's your hourly shot at a Grand And is Striker
sitting right there? With everything happening in the world.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
In just the last couple months, there's been a lot
of horrible incidents involving airplanes. There was another one. I
guess that was yesterday. Everybody has seen the footage by now.
It's that Delta flight from Minneapolis to Toronto. You see
it landing, landing, hit hard, terrible weather conditions in the
snow in Toronto, and the entire Delta plane flipped upside
(07:51):
down on the runway. Eighty people survive. Everybody on the
plane survived. Yeah, there are some people that are injured
and we hope that they're gonna be okay. But no
one was killed in this.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
So next time you take a flight and you try
to cheat that seat belt like right before you land,
like I'm taking this off, don't keep it on, because
it saved everyone on that plane's life, really did. And
how did it happen. I don't get how the plane
flipped over and didn't bust apart because of the wings
like it bounced over. I just don't get it. It
(08:24):
doesn't make a lot of sense. It looked like a
perfectly normal burbank landing. Because those burbank landing sometimes those
are hard. They come over that hill and damn they
slam you right onto the ground.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
It scares me every single time Burbank is my go
to airport, and if I'm not sleeping, I am holding
onto the seat. I'm somebody that doesn't mind flying, right,
but I'm very aware of takeoffs and landings, meaning I'm
not all loosey goosey. I'm holding on and my seat
belt is very tight.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Yeah, it's very very smile video to see what's changing
up here for a Happy birthday to the doctor.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Andre Young doctor dre Rock and Roll Hall of Famer
sixty years old. Started in the world Class Wrecking Crew
nw A solo artists, one of the greatest producers of
our lifetime. In two thousand and six, he co founded
Beats Electronics then sold it for three point four billion dollars.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Yeah, and just a couple of months ago his wife
took half. I think graduate you'd.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Hear this for a minute. Happy birthday hundred. We're going
to keep it under the music umbrella. Lane Staley, who
died in two thousand and two with thirty four years old.
It was just announced some lost journals of his were
found and they will be released as a book available
(09:46):
to buy November eleventh. He is the only author of
this book. Of the journals, they were a word for
word of things that he wrote down This Angry Pen,
the lost journals of Lane Staley.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Wo did you say? There's other Allison Chains news right
now with Jerry Cantrell. Turns out he was offered a
part in Almost Famous. He would have been in that
movie and has her he's the bass player, and he
turned it down.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Why am I drawing a blank on the man that
wrote that movie? Because Jerry Cantrell was in Jerry McGuire
roll Forgetting Rolling Stone.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
That's his name, Jan Jan Wiener or whatever his name is?
His name?
Speaker 2 (10:29):
No, that you're way off on that booker Jan Wiener.
What isn't he like?
Speaker 1 (10:32):
Oh No, he's the guy at Rolling Stone. That's the
guy at Rolling Stone.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
As I'm thinking, who wrote no, not none in the
Rolling Stones?
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Edward who wrote the movie Almost Famous?
Speaker 2 (10:42):
And Jerry McGuire. Why am I drawing a blank drawing
it too? So that guy loves Camon Crow of course,
But the late great Lane Staley thirty four years old?
Only when he passed away? What a voice I was
supposed to be?
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Jane and Larry, Jerry Cantrow and Lane Staley, those two
together are like the grunge Eagles. You know they just
the harmonies, they're just too good.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
The poor guy was singing about his problems the entire time.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
The season album too.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Yep. Hey, Shane Gillis is coming back to host SNL.
It'll be his second time. Just announced March first. Tate
McCray is going to be the musical guest. I'm happy
he's coming back to host, So Booker. You may recall
this in twenty nineteen, he was hired to be a
cast member on SNL, remember Shane Gillis, and then instantly
he was fired. NBC pressured Lord Michaels let him go.
(11:48):
This guy said some bad things on podcasts when he
was attempting to be funny, so they let him go.
Then last year Lord Michael said, bring this guy back.
I really like him. He's gonna host. But unfortunately Shane Gillis.
His monologue did not go very well and I think
Shane would admit that. But Lauren said, come back for
round two. And Shane is a funny guy and very
(12:10):
funny gonna happen on March first.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
His commercials that he has, like with post Malone. Now
the commercials are just money, they're really good by like
commercial Booker.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Did you know you can't drink alcohol in a TV commercial? No,
so let's drink in five four three two.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Booker and Striker.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
All this week on Booker and Striker, We're getting you
into the iHeartRadio Theater to see the Lumineers. Plus you'll
go backstage and meet the band with Striker not.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
We are fresh off our gutter Ball Party thirty annual
Booker and Striker Party at Lucky Strike in Hollywood. It
was Sunday afternoon from four to seven. If you were there,
thank you so much. It was an awesome time.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Yeah, it was a great time. Got to meet some
of some new people, some faces we've seen in the past.
Who sticks out in your mind the most? Like, if
I say the party, who did you spend the most
time talking to?
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Oh, it's it's a variety. But if I have to
choose one person, I met a horse jockey who isn't
just saying like I ride horses. He races at Santa
Anita and he used to race at Hollywood Park. His
name is James Corral. He was super nice. And then
the sisters that I like, Tina, Marie and I think
it's Tanya together. Yes, it looks like they're straight out
(13:21):
of a social distortion music video. Just the coolest, nicest people.
There was Daniel and his awesome girlfriend or wife together
as well.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Right, there was a young lady named Joanna. She works
out of her house. She makes cookies, and she made
Booker and Striker cookies with our faces on them, which
I don't know how you even do that, but she's
so incredibly talented. I didn't even I didn't think we
could eat the cookies because they're so nice. Striker gobbled
like they're all gone.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
He's like they were out three cookies and you're probably
thinking you're just gonna eat cookies out of bowling alley.
That's some random person hands Yes, I will. They were
perfectly packed and as Booker said, Joanna perfect desserts, I
believe is the name of her operation.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Yeah, And if you go, and if you ever needed
in the future, if you're looking for somebody to make
like specialty cookies, just reach out to us and we'll
direct you to her, because God knows you're not going
to remember this, but you know, it's a small business.
She does it out of her house and she's lovely.
She listened all the time and I thought that was
really cool. Who else did we see? I saw the
musician friend of mine, Chloe Caroline. She came by nice
(14:27):
after her.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Our buddy Tim Galindo was there. Shout out to Tim
and his friend was with him.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
And we even got love from the other radio stations
we had.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Ryan Mano was there also, Bored from the Morning.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Show was there from the Woody Show.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Came our producer DJ Regulate, DJ'd and Spiney did a
great job. And Kristin Lemone, who gave us such a
nice shout out on the microphone. You did, yes, she did.
You were standing right next to me and all as.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Alcohol, a lot of alcohol. But we walk in it's like,
here's a shot here.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Now.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
People kept buying a sh and some were just got awful,
like green things. I don't even know what was in
some of these things, but I drank them, Oh, terrible shots.
What do you think they were? We were drinking?
Speaker 2 (15:10):
I think so. I had a couple of drink tickets.
I tried to get shots for a lot of people,
but they said, we can't give you shots. We have
to mix it with something. Oh they did, yes, Oh,
and so I don't know what was put in the drink.
It was fine for me. I was just going down
my mouth in my mouth down.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
I think I went home and made pizza or something
that I don't know. I was crushed, you, I was hammered. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
See I I would have a drink from someone, I'd
put it down and you know, medium germophobe. I'm like,
I don't know which one's mine. I'll just leave it there.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
I did that in bowling a couple of times. I
went and I set my drink down. I'm like, I
came back. I'm like, that's gone.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Can I mention one more thing about bowling in general?
Booker had three strikes in a row last year at
the bowling party. This year he started off with one strike,
So that's four in a row. I started off with
a strike my one. Last year I did two spars
and a strike. This year a strike and a spare.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Why are we in radio and not professional.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Blo Because if we put a little time into it,
But if you thought think about it, if we put
a little time into this radio, we could be professional DJs.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
We'll never have a three hundred gonna happen in radio.
Maybe in bowling we're like We're like that.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
One eighty Bowling Share radio show, What eighty That's about
it on for you Booker and Striker. It is all
ninety eight seven.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Booker and Striker, ninety eight seven.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Lumineers and the iHeartRadio Theater. Booker and Striker. We will
host this thing plus our winners. We'll go backstage with
us to meet the lumineers. Plus some swag too. A
chance to win coming up in just a couple of minutes.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
My question is who is the best SNL cast member
of all time? And who is your favorite? And I
bring this up. I don't know where you've been, but
it's been fifty years of SNL. There is a three
hour and thirty minute concert on Friday night. I watched
every second of it, and then Sunday night they had there,
did all sketches, new sketches, and it was just star
studded and very very fun to watch. Booker best and favorite.
(17:03):
And let me just throw some names out there, okay,
Eddie Murphy, Dana Carvey, Kate McKinnon, Will Ferrell, Kristin Wiggs,
Sandler Maya, Rudolph, John Belushi, Tina Fey, Chevy Chase. I
mean there you can pick anything, right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
I think the Chevy Chase people in the Belushies are
a little bit before our time or maybe my time
watching anyhow. Yeah, but for me, if we're gonna go
with favorite first a favorite, for me, no one will
ever be better than Eddie Murphy. I mean, I we
were in grade school and that was on every Saturday.
I would stay up and just pray that I'm gonna
(17:37):
be Dabit would come on, or he would come on
as Buckwheat. He was appointment TV for me. I anything
Eddie did back then, I idolized Eddie Murphy. I couldn't
wait to see him burp on TV. He could do anything.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
So he's your favorite without question.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
You could say he's the best if you want, but
I'll give you who might think is the best. But
I want to hear your favorite first.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Oh that was such alf Eddie Murphy. I'm not gonna
say Eddie, but I do want to point out when
he made his debut on SNL Booker, he was maybe
twenty or nineteen years old.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
He was a kid, I mean, was well beyond his
comedic years.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
My favorite. Now we're talking about their time on SNL,
are not what they did post SNL.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
I still know yours.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Okay, tell me who you think I'm gonna say for favorite?
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Should I write it down?
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Yes? Write it down?
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Okay, I wrote it down. Let's see why I could
have just said. If I'm gonna shut you, oh you unvalid,
then I'll turn it over. Your favorite is? Oh god,
this is.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
My favorite is Adam Sandler.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Oh, I got it wrong. I went with Farley.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
I was gonna I was about to say Farley. It's
so it's close. Those guys are bucking that for favorite.
I loved the Chris Farley stuff, but I'm gonna go
with the Sandman is my favorite? Now? Who is Booker
the best?
Speaker 1 (18:58):
The greatest SNL cast member? According to me?
Speaker 2 (19:02):
According to you, note, you cannot let any movies they've
done affect this. You can't let other TV appearances or
their appearances on late night talk shows or anything else.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Yes, to me, this gentleman was the most versatile comedian
ever to be on the show. He could literally do anything.
He could be a game show host, he could be
a cheerleader, and he did both. Will Ferrell, to me,
is the most talented person that has ever been on
that show. He is incredibly talented. So I'm gonna go
(19:31):
Will Ferrell as the best cast member ever. Strike you
like my Sally gad he's all read because I feel
like I changed his mind? What are you thinking?
Speaker 2 (19:45):
I just want to say that Maya Rudolph is in
my conversation so good.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
There's so many people that are so good.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
I think Maya Rudolph not even low key, high key
MVP of SNL. Because you're talking about singing, acting, performers,
character being able to adjust to any scene, any situation,
and be the star of all of them without stepping
on other people's toes. Shout out Maya Rudolph. Yeah, we've
got eighty six thousand cast members to choose from. And
(20:12):
Ted Striker is also saying Will Ferrell.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Oh, you're gonna go Will Ferrell as well. Okay, would
you like to give a special honorable mention to anyone?
Just one honorable man?
Speaker 2 (20:22):
One?
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Just one? Because I know I wrestled with Farley's myself
and things like that, but go, let's hear your honorable mention.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
I'm not I'm not allowed to mention any other names.
I'm just gonna say one. This guy played it different characters.
He could impersonate anybody out there, presidents, invented characters. I'm
going Dana Carvey.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Dana Carvey, good, good pick. I'm going Kristen Wig. I
love Christin Wigs. She just stole every scene. Versatility, she
could do everything and funny in every scene. Really good.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Also shout out Bill Hater.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Bill Haters, just a monster.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
So good it is.
Speaker 1 (20:59):
Booker answered, Booker and Striker, all right, Booker and Striker.
We had a busy weekend Friday. We spent a lot
of time on Striker because it's his first Valentine's Day
with his new girlfriend, and of course we had gutter
Ball this weekend. I want to focus on Valentine's Day. First,
men to do. How was your evening?
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Well? Do you want to know what I did wrong?
In the very beginning? Because I know no, no, DJ
readily don't.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Say oh no by showing up. What do you mean?
What did you do wrong?
Speaker 2 (21:29):
So Valentine's Day was Friday. On Thursday, I went through
like exactly what I'm gonna wear? Because we had to work.
I wanted to get home and change right into it,
like Superman, change and be ready to go. I put
on what I thought was good on Thursday and I
hated it. So now I'm throwing clothes everywhere. On Friday,
I can't wear these pants, I can't wear these cut
ones of the capris, the toppest. Anyway, I figured out
(21:49):
what I was gonna wear. I had the best kind
of nerves and butterflies that you can have. And to
answer your question, how did it go? It went really
really well.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
So dinner went.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Yes. You know sometimes in you know, a book or
on Valentine's Day, it can be a cluster out there.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
They would rush in and out right.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
You have a reservation at seven or seven thirty whatever
it is, and two hours later you sit down, got
in like five minutes, had an uber uber was there
on time? Wo got lucked out? And you know how
you can build something up in your own mind. It's
Valentine's Day. It has to go well or everything. It
went better than expecting.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Okay, how did your and I don't know what your
gifts were and you don't have to share, okay, but
how did they land? Where there was? Was it a day?
Was it one thing? Was it many things?
Speaker 2 (22:36):
I'm in trouble, oh in this relationship. Oh, because it's
going to keep going because I did so great.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Oh oh good, good for you.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
I'll tell you one thing that I did, which I
guess is something that we all should do. A couple
months ago, she had mentioned something that she liked. I
stored that right inside.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
I put that right in my phone. Anytime my girl
says anything regularly jumping up and down, you do the
same thing, right, put it in the notes in your phone.
Every time she I want one of those, I write
it down that moment.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
There could be something very small to something that's not
that small.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
It just shows you're paying attention, right.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
And I wrapped it to make it look like a
stuffed animal. So the entire time I think she was thinking, ah,
he's giving me a teddy bear.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
He's nine.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Then she opened it up and was like, whoa, whoa,
how great great, great great nice. And I definitely got
a few things, and so she's probably thinking the same thing.
Maybe we did two good. Oh no, there's I don't
think that's possible. But it was a ten out of.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Ten out of ten. Yes, wow. I had steaks by
myself plural, two steaks, one for me, one for the dogs,
and baked potato. My girl was in Hawaii. She came
back the next morning. It was a glorious Valentine's Day.
I got myself drunk. I had a great time with myself.
What a what an evening, And back to the romantic
party the evening for you? Yes, go ahead, did that happen, Booker?
(23:57):
Did you think of me when it happened? Tell me that, yes,
you did think of it.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Booker, hold on this stuff right there. I told him.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
I said, listen, it's gonna happen. There's gonna be some romance.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
And a Booker. He was in my head and I
was like, don't think of me. Didn't affect anything. I'm
in the union steel workers. But if you're tuning, wait, Yes,
in my last couple of years to three years have
been a big change in my life. And I'm feeling
very healthy. I feel good, just very grateful and happy
and lucky. I just mean down with somebody.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
Yes, are we on?
Speaker 1 (24:35):
No people to shout out to break my girl? That's
my boyfriend. Thank you, Booker, Striker.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Booker and striker.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
All right, Booker and Striker, it is all ninety eighty seven.
We are commercial for EE this hour your chance to
see the lumineers at the iHeartRadio Theater, Striker and I
will host this event. When you win with Booker and Striker,
you'll go backstage with Booker and Striker to meet the lumineers.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
That's right, Grab a picture, say hi to them, and
then you'll be on your way, shuffled out so fast
you make your head spin. No, I'm scary.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
The White Lotus made its premiere last night for season three,
or I don't know if it was season three, maybe
it was over the weekend. People are all pissed off
about the theme song. It changed. I don't know if
you read this, which I would never have known it
even had a theme song.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
This is what makes us Yes, so the Booker. I
just want to be very clear. I've seen both seasons
of White Lotus, and I thought both seasons were done
really well. Of course, it's Mike White, who's the backbone
of the operation, and the theme song is one of
those ones where I like to sit through. I never
hit the skip intro.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Okay, so this was the first season. This was the
one that was what why Why he Is? And the
second season no, no, no, no, no oh wait, that's
what I mean. I don't understand why people are pissed.
So this is season two. Remember Italy Italy so was Italian.
(26:01):
It's a little bit more Italian. And then there's one
so the season three this.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Is well, I totally screwed up season two's intro.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
Yeah. Then this one's in Thailand, which sounds very Thailand.
Listen to this. But fans are upset. It's like it's
been different every year. I don't know what people are
upset about. I'm upset about my gas built. That's what
I'm upset about.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Not called the Internet homeboy, I guess so, also Booker,
what an idiot I am. I didn't even realize they
were different themes from the first two years, like the
theme from mad Man or mad Men, Orange is the
New Black, the Seinfeld Friends, Golden Girls even you never changed, right,
you never changed those. But I think Mike White, the guy,
feels they're different settings and totally different plots, right, with
(26:47):
different people, and as a result of all that, you
change the intro. So I'm on his side with that.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Well, there are a couple players from the last season
in this one. There are ripped into this one, and
that also happened from one to two as.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Well, with Jennifer Coolidge.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Right, there's so there is some sort of like through
line going through it. We don't know what it is yet,
but what is it with like HBO shows or like
Netflix shows anymore? Back in the day, you'd never see
male Genitalia. I gotta tell you first episode Male Genitalia.
I mean, it's all the time. Patrick Schwarzenegger, he has
meant ji his things out there, he's out there.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
That's right. Everybody has a price. I would do it
for the art.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
Would you do it for the arts?
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Yes, but I would have I would ask the following questions.
Can I be on my time when I walk out
to film? Meaning I may need two minutes of fluffing? Right, Honestly,
I'm not short changed on camera exactly.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
I need to work on things a little bit, just
a little.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
And if you know, if it takes ten takes to
get done and it take five, I need hey, guys,
I need let me go back for a minute.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Because I need to be represented in their proper life, right.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
I mean, there's some actors out there who've done great
in that department.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
Well, in season two of White Lotus h He's a
British guy, but he played like the uh the best
friend of the of the one, Aubrey Plaza's whatever. They
supposedly had some sort of relationship.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Or within the show yet, right.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
But like there was a scene with him where he
was naked, but that was prosthetic. That wasn't his. So
he went on like afterward to say, I don't want
any women thinking that one was mine, because mine's not that.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
But uh, do you know that Mark Wahlberg and Bookie Nights? Yeah,
that was of course Booker. What is your price and
I'll give you mine. Let's just say I would do.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
It for the arts. I'm with you. I don't think
I would need a price. If it's like, if it
was a great role. Now listen, I'm not doing it
for like I'll.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
Go to a stage show in Hollywood, whatever the place is.
I could give me the SNL, the oldest new SNL, CASMOB.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
If it's like a movie. Look, I'm not like talking
skin Imax after Dark either. I'm talking like it's gotta
have a you know, somebody write a plot and some
real sarj Abrams directing this. J Abrams could see this Wang,
but nobody and no one on the Z list is
going to see this that's all I'm saying to that.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
So here is what Booker and Striker is saying. I mean,
we're in Hollywood right now. If you would like two
radio DJs.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
To be nude, right, willing to show their junk.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
All of it, all of it, but on our time,
on sets, right, and we're on times.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
Striker's got a class. Seriously, he's got a fluffer time
clause me. I'm ready to go. If it's cold, I'm
going in. I don't care. I do it for the arts.
Maybe the scene requires me to be very cold, if
you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
All right, he'll be short changed. I ain't been short
change in that. But we're both ready, and we're in
the union in many ways.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
Right.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
Look at Booker, he's standing there.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
He looks like a light switch. He's in the DAG.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
I get that joke. Weirdly enough, you do. I do
Bluminears tickets. Next, Booker and Striker.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
A ninety eight seven, Booker and Striker.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
All right, Booker and Striker, it is a ninety eight seven.
You got something for me up your sleeve over there, Striker,
I can tell well, I'm.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Just re remembering the Nike Kobe six Dodger shoes. I'm
looking at the pictures of them right now, okay, and
this just popped up in my feed. They're going to
be out on April thirteenth, which is Mama day booker.
We need to get these shoes. They are so good
looking and they look like well, Dodger blue, but with
(30:28):
the eight on one side, I can't see what the
It's got to be his other number on the other
side of the twenty four and then the Kobe autograph
in the back. Anyway, they're very, very good looking.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
Don't you recall last time you made me buy a
pair of shoes and where those shoes are right now
in my closet. Never been worn yet, probably never will
wear them. They were Jordan's. They just don't look good
on me, not you, though you want me to wear them,
and you can look at them and make fun of
me in person, yes, make you feel better.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Don't take them out of the box. Have you put
them on and tried them on?
Speaker 1 (30:58):
I tried them on the day I got them, and
I was like, these aren't for me, and I put
him right back in that box.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
But didn't you didn't want to return them that moment
You're like, is it an investment?
Speaker 1 (31:06):
Now, well, I didn't even know how to return them.
Can you return shoes? Yes, I don't know. It was
like an aftermarket market for them or something.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
I don't think you got necessarily collectors. No, they were
like one hundred and twenty nine bucks or you got them.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Remember you guys made me get them on this like
shoe x websit.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
What was that? Yes? Someck it made me site. We
made you That's what I mean. I don't even think
they're real. Jordan's h ai air, Jordan's hair Jordan for me.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
Because I got I have a hairy guy hair. Jordan's
are what I am? Get them right up on eBay tomorrow.
Hate those stupid things.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Are we getting out of here?
Speaker 3 (31:40):
Or she could.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
A couple more songs before we go there?
Speaker 1 (31:44):
All right, Danica is going to come in next. What
do we have? More trips to nowhere? Trips to the
iHeartRadio Theater tomorrow to see the Lumineers and.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
You get to meet the band when you win with
Booker and Striker as we celebrate three years together on
doing the show.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Oh, I know what I wanted to say. Go to
our Instagram. Booker and Striker on Instagram because there's a
ton of stories and most of them are just we
reposted listeners from our bowling event.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
That twenty four hours expired already.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
They're not on there that expire. Oh come on, they're
still on there.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
I don't think they are. But I'm gonna work on it.
By the way, I'm gonna work on a reel tonight
that's gonna knock everybody socks off from the bowling party.
I'm gonna be up all night. I've got some mempheta
means ready to go.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
He will call me all cracked up, like You'll be
like a cokeheaded like eleven thirty Today. Book you gotta
look at this reel. It's gonna be great. I mean
I'll be like, I'll roll right back over.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
I don't care if anyone watches the reel. It's gotta
have some heart. It was such a great event on Sunday.
I have eight thousand pictures in my phone right now.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
