It is your birthday. It's two to nine pm. We

they were just here saying you happy birthday. Best Audio
will give that to everybody later today. How are you
feeling like I was hit by a bus as a

(00:39):
result of last night's activities. Last night we went to
the Viper room. As you can maybe hear it in
my voice. We drank, we yelled, dance, Steve danced, we sang,
we performed. Even yes, mister Brightside, Uh I.

Speaker 3 (00:56):

I'm like, how are you gonna make it till six?

Speaker 1 (01:05):

Booker was very nice that was.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
And thank you for that because it was not the song.
No I hate Happy Birthday, Oh shut up to.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
The point, to the point we had everybody at a
thank you at a ten out of ten energy. It
was the loudest Happy Birthday Booker in Unison. The entire
viper room was still paying attention after the show. I

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Sad news.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
George Went, who played Norm Norm Peterson from Cheers, has
passed away at seventy six years old, exactly thirty two
years to the day of the final Cheers episode.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
No taking a great word, sure.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Out a lot. I had two very real exchanges with
George Went over the years, and he was a ten
out of ten in terms of being nice. One of
them we were in a music video together for the
band MxPx responsibility.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
So we were on set all day long.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
And the second was I was on the radio twenty
years ago and I saw that he was standing at
the back door entrance to get into the radio station
on the security camera. I'm like, why is Norm George
went trying to get in? So I go on the
thing and he's like, hello, a striker. He said, yeah,
he's like, my daughter's trying to get tickets to three

(02:58):
to one one.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
What's three eleven?

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Buzzed them in so I can give them the tickets
for three to one one.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
That's amazing, man, what a character. I met him not
too long ago, I guess a few years ago. He
was at the book release of Jim Burrow's book The
Guy That Created the Whole Thing, and I was lucky
enough to be there for that. The whole cast was
there and it was wild, like just see First of all,

(03:29):
just seeing all of them is one thing, but to
see Norm, you know, in person. And I saw him
on Broadway once. He did a little tiny play. I
believe it was called Art and it was just one
of my favorite little plays that I ever saw on Broadway.
It's just a two man show.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
He was fantastic here we send our condolences to his friends,
his family, of course, and all of his fans. Dodgers
are in our home versus Arizona. The Angels are playing
the A's and NBA playoffs. Timberwolves Thunder tip off tonight,
game one of that series.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
I'm striker.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
It's Booker's birthday today, and his voice is shot because
we had our big event last night with the DJ
duo Justice. We sang, we danced, we had cocktails. We
went to bed very late. So I don't know if
you want to take up this offer on the text
line here for your birthday. Let's go. Okay, Happy birthday, Booker.
Come down to my pub and mission viejo. I'm behind

(04:26):
the bar. Drinks on me all night, ladies.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Why did I not know the m U L L
E A D Y S.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
That's that's the pub right there. Happy birthday, Booker, sent
with confetti, ate away. Happy birthday, Booker, many best wishes
to you. Maybe you should ask your boss if you
can duck out of work early today. Ask you're already.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Going okay, that's fine, that's fine, that's fine. Happy birthday, Booker.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Unfortunately, I don't think our carrot cake would arrive safely
across the country. Hope you have a block.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Oh wow.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
But the ex owner of the Shredded Carrot maybe yeah, Brent, Brent.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Brent moved out of town. He was our only listener.
He sent cake for every exciting occasion.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
I think the new place has new ownership. But maybe
they listened to something else.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Brent from the shredd of Carrick sold that place. They're
like ninety eight seven's on care right off, right off
the dial.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Hey't give us tickets. Coming up in a couple of moments.

Speaker 1 (05:22):

Speaker 2 (05:39):
All right, just in right now, this is breaking news.
If you haven't heard, it is Booker's birthday today. The
man is celebrating his birthday. We just had some taram Assou,
which was lovely. There is a cake here that the
band The Kooks brought by earlier.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
They were super nice, super nice.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
They sang Birthday, the birthday song, the Beatles Birthday song,
which was great.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Do you have that? Is that in our system?

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yet?

Speaker 3 (06:03):
We should hear that this is the Kooks earlier?

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Today I'm getting a Saturday.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
Oh my god, look at that.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Check that out?

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Pretty awesome.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Thank you everybody.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Luke and Hugh from that band, all right, my chemical romance.
They announced their first show of twenty twenty six, sixty
five thousand capacity, of course, celebrating twenty years of the
Black Parade, February thirteenth. If you want to go on
a trip to Mexico City, this is going to be
a hug out.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Yeah, big time.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
You know. Their album Black Parade came out in October
of two thousand and six. That was their third album,
and man Alive. They were on their way. Speaking of shows,
Billie Eilish announced twenty one new US shows. And while
there's none right here in La or Orange County, many
of you do travel for Billy shows. The last one
of our tours in San Francisco, there's a show now

(07:15):
that's going to be in Phoenix. The Dodgers play versus Arizona.
Later today the Angels play the A's and Timberwolve's Thunder
NBA Game one of that series. I'm Striker, that's all.
I got fault afternoons with Booker, Striker.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
You got Booker and Striker. It is all ninety eight seven.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
So last night, with many of you, we were at
the Viper Room for the DJ duo Justice. It was
it really was an incredible time.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I have not felt energy like that in a small
room and that vibe sweaty, grimy, but like unbelievable energy
all mixed together.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
And pretty good looking audience and.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Very When I say gritty and grimy, I mean like
sweat coming from our foah.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
The DJs were going and the music was loud. It's
just great at But Booker, I something happened last night.
So Tommy Black has worked at the Viper Room for years.
He was also in a band with Scott Wiland. He's
a great guy. He says to us, you guys should
bartend a little bit, and so I'm not sure I
understood what that meant other than you were standing behind.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
The bar I didn't either, And you know, he ushers
us behind the bar, which is nice because there's some
room back there, you know what I mean. I'm like,
I'm liking this. But then there's two real bartenders that
are working there.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Sidney was one of them.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
I'm sure Sidney was very annoyed by us because we're useless,
and we realized within five seconds we have no idea
what we're doing behind a bar, like I was gonna
legit make a drink. And I've made myself a million
drinks in my life, obviously, and I've ordered a billion
drinks in my life. But the first person that looks
at me and says, give me a vodka soda which

(08:53):
I'm drinking.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
I'm like, where is it? Where's the ice? Where's the soda?
You know? Yeah, I'm looking for a bottle on the gun.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Apparently, then there's four hundred buttons on that gun. I
don't know which one, and you can't.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
I don't can't.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
I can't read it.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
And then someone had first shot at tequila and I
said to Tommy Black, I said, do I give.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
It for free? I don't know how to use the register.
I don't know how to use anything. He's like give
them give him out for free.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Then then you're like, okay, which glass do you use?

Speaker 3 (09:21):
You know what?

Speaker 1 (09:21):
I had no idea of like looking at everything and
I'm like, where's the ice?

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Do I dip the cup into the other? Like all
these questions that like we got stage fright as far.
I did exactly.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
I was like, I'm done. I don't give me out here,
And I was like, I just want to go back
to the crowd. Yes, cause I knew I was just
clogging up the system. And there's people that actually are
that are very good to do that job extremely well,
exceedingly well they do, and we're terrible.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Terrible at it.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Wasted time.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
I had a little bit of stage fright as well.
And I cannot stress this enough. Booker is totally right.
When they looked at me and asked for the drink,
my smile on my face went away. I just became
a concern person.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Where do I go? What do I look for? Where's it?

Speaker 1 (10:03):
I fail, too, dumb deer in the headlight, just standing there,
not a clue.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Pass it out. I did pass out, like four free
shots to beetle. You did, yeah, Oh, I grabbed the
shock last.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
I mean, I just felt dumb. I was like, I'm
not even gonna tempt this. Leave it up to the
professionals to get the hell out of their ways. But
I thought, but a great night last.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Night, Pauline and Long Beach guys, I was there. Incredible
shout out to DJ Santana as well, who was awesome
and Justice fantastic.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Santana works for us. By the way, Stellar didn't DJ Regular.
He did an incredible job.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
I just want to.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
Tell you he did a great job.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
I'm I'm the Santana boat.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
I love Santana. He's a great DJ.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
There's a little jealousy there.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
I can absolutely not, absolutely not.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Hear that retort.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Striker, you smell it right, I'm staying out of this one.
