Speaker 1 (00:02):
The all new All Afternoons Sweet Booker Striker Podcast. All right,
let's get it going to Booker and Striker locked in
on a Monday seven. Striker, how are you?

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I'm doing so well. You're gonna be so jealous when
I tell you where I was at twelve thirty pm today.
H I know you like this place. It's historic, they
have great signage. It's in the valley, it's on Ventura Boulevard,
and it's a restaurant.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
I was going to say Costco until you got to
the restaurant.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
You were close with the sea sounding like that.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Oh really sees I don't know.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Casa Vega, Oh, Casa Vega at twelve thirty pm on
a weekday? Nobody there right? Just and by the way,
that's not a knock on them, but I think they
opened to twelve twenty nine because it's impossible, Yeah, impossbile
to even get a once he at the bar, right, Booker,
I just had tortilla chips and tacos. I'm not saying
if I had zero margaritas or five, but somewhere between.

(00:59):
And it was wonderful.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
How is a day trip, because to me, that is
always a nighttime meal. I don't know if I've ever
went for Mexican in the middle of the day.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
It's a great point and it was fantastic because it
felt like a nighttime party, but it was a twelve thirty, right,
and it was you and I should go meet there
before it works out. Really we may not show up
to work, Rita, I mean, just like unbelievable service of course,
and Margarita.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
And you and I.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
So let's go sometime, you know, let's do that. Klasa
Vegas shout outs.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Sold out tickets to see our friends Mumford and Sons.
We have those every hour of Booker and Striker. Today
they're playing the Hollywood Bowl. The only way in is
to win. Here on all ninety eighth sevens Booker and Striker,
Our Booker and Striker. It is alt ninety eight seven.
You want to go to Disney, I'll tell you how
you can get some tickets coming up in just a
few minutes. But first it is Striker standing by with

(01:52):
everything happening in the world.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
You know, yesterday Los Angeles, parts of it were filled
with so much love, and parts of it were just
very scared, with the tensions just so high. Specifically in
downtown LA. Four straight days or so of protests against immigration,
check gets ice. That's gripped the city. But I'm gonna
start with the love. La Pride Parade was yesterday. It

(02:13):
was Sunday morning, and I was on the iHeartRadio float
and it was one mile long through Hollywood. I lived
in Hollywood for twenty years. I'm born and raised in LA.
And the inclusion and the excitement and the love it
was like overflowing everywhere you looked, and it was it
was fun to be part of it.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Bore it is, you know. I lived in West Hollywood
for six seven years, and you know, I went every
single year and it was such just so much fun.
And the concerts at night and the parade is fun.
There's just so much to do. But you're right, it's
so positive and it's really a great reflection on our city.
However we change gears, it goes. There's the other side
of the coin here. You're about to talk about.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
It, Well, downtown LA, we've all seen it. As I
use the word gripped because I was gripped online the television,
and it's sad and it feels unnecessary, and it's just
I'm not gonna speak for Booker because I'm just gonna
say it's I feel bad.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
I don't want to it's I don't like it.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Yeah, it's right in our own backyard, and it feels
unnecessary to me.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
There's nothing too like about this. I don't know. I
don't know who voted for this. You know, this is
out of chaos, and our politicians are doing nothing but
stirring the pot and National Guard coming in just absolute,
just a zoo. This is dumb watching good people.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yeah, of Los Angeles.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
I'm just tired of our people just being demonized. I'm
just so tired of it. Like enough. I don't think
people realized when they voted for this crap. This is
what some voted for. This is nothing but hate. I
can't see it. But any other way, it's nothing but hate.
It's bigotry. I can't stand it. I don't like it.
So there's my two cents.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
I concur Okay, do I segue to the next story.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
I think I don't have the dumbest story in the
world on deck.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Fine, I'm gonna give you the stupidest story, and then
we're gonna play a song.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
You ready for the dumbest story?

Speaker 2 (04:08):
It has to do with the Guinness Book of World Records.
A right, there's a city in Pennsylvania. They're attempting to
break the record for most people blowing bubbles.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
I was like, we're about to get on a plane.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
See, I knew I was gonna wait. I knew it.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Doesn't take too much to like change my bood.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
So for the most record amount of people blowing bubbles simultaneously,
believe it or not, there was an old record of
eight hundred and eighty one. They're looking to get twelve
hundred and fifty three people blowing bubbles. Listen, it's stupid.
I'm Dodgers, play the Padres. That's a rivalry. I'd say,
I'm striker. That's all I.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Got and I'd love to meet this person. Bubbles The
al Afternoons with the Booker and Striker on All ninety
eight seven. All right, Booker and Striker, It is all
ninety eight seven. We start in the morning with the
Woody Show. They got the impossible Nintendo's switch to get.
We've got the impossible tickets to see Mumford and Sons.
That's sold out. We'll get you those this hour and
every hour. A Booker and Striker. Speaking of Striker, there

(05:02):
he is with everything happening in the world.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
There's thousands of people this second in downtown LA, fourth
day in a row protesting Trump's immigration raids, plus the
deployment of the deployment of the National Guard. I don't
know if you've heard about this, Booker, but hundreds of
US Marines from twenty nine Palms have been sent to
LA to help out. I see. I've been watching this

(05:25):
footage just like everybody else for four or five days
now and watching great people of our city, day laborers,
those that work their asses off the home depot downtown
LA just getting swept up. And these are good people,
and it breaks my heart.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
What does due process mean? Oh, we have no idea
here in California. They just put you in a truck
and take you away and cross your fingers and hope
they got the right people. And it's sad. What's happening
is I.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Thought I had some sort of good news when it
comes to way Mos the self driving cars, because you know, people,
those who were in a mon So the fleet has
been and I'm like, oh, the people is Santa Monica
aren't gonna hear the beat beings sound all night from
downtown LA. So, I don't know if he's like five
maybe four cars they were torched on. I think there

(06:12):
were more than There's a rock star that everybody knows,
and I don't know if you do know that he
and his brother have a video game studio and they
create video games. And the new game that they created
sounds pretty cool to me because it's a nostalgic. The
rock star is Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons and his brother,

(06:33):
also the manager of the band is mac Reynolds. Mac
Reynolds is a great guy, by the way, great great guy.
Dan stinks. No. We love Night Street Games created Last Flag.
It is a It's basically it's captured the flag flag.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yes. Does everyone know what Boy Scouts as a kid.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Well, I don't know. If I played it. I wasn't
in the Boy maybe for a MINUTI was in Boy Scouts.
I played it a camp. I played it were All
I wanted to do was run across the equator the
middle line, capture the flag of the other team, and
run back.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
That's the game.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
That's when he played outdoors and it was awesome. I'm
never in a million years gonna play this on the
video game. But it sounds good.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Yeah, sounds fun. All right, I like that.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
The lead singer of Marcy Playground just created a Pac
Man game, Dodgers, Dodgers, Dores Baby. Here we go.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
This is a big, good series. Starts tonight pet Cup.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
That's in San Diego. The A's are home. I'm sorry,
the Angels are home versus the A's, And I'm Striker.
