(00:02):
Your home for the Old Ames isClassic Rock. Welcome back into Carson Park.
We've had the Nashal anthem, We'vehad the starting lineups. We are
ready for football here between Oaklaire Memorialand New Richmond here tonight, the other
games in the Big Rivers Conference, will keep our eye on before you try
to get you some score updates onHudson is at River Falls out of course,

(00:22):
one of the great rivalries and allof the state of Wisconsin. Right
there between those two schools over onthe western edge of Wisconsin, Menominee and
Shai High. They're playing their onehundred and eleventh meeting between those two high
schools tonight, Menominee at three andOld shi High at one and two and
oak Clair North the surprise team inthe Big Rivers two and one up at
Superior and oh and three team.Could Oak Claire North go to three and

(00:43):
one for the first time in aboutwhat four different presidents and since back when
I don't know, Brian Boitano waswinning gold medals somewhere in there, it's
been a while since North has beenthree and one, but they'll be looking
for that mark as well. Butwe've got new Richmond versus morning. We're
happy to be along with you NewRichmond and the visiting white uniforms, orange
numbers, black helmets with the tigeron the side, black pants as well.

(01:07):
To move right to left here inquarter number one. The old Abes
clad in the all purple uniforms withthe white numbers and kind of a white
eagle feather stripes kind of on theshoulder, pants as well, with the
old mascot on the side of thosepurple helmets. They will move from left
to right here in quarter number one. Take a look back here toward men
to receive here for the Abes,I'll be Jacob Wigle Back along with Julius

(01:32):
Clark. Apartment me Tate Ferguson.Kickoff is under way in here we go
Tay Ferguson. We'll take it backat the eight yard line. He's up
to the twenty between the hash marks, makes the move, gets hit hard,
stays on his feet up across thethirty, makes another move at the
forty and is taken down from behind. Here the forty one yard line tackle
made on the play by New Richmond'sTrevor Solon, but not before a very

(01:53):
solid return of thirty four yards anda first down and ten at their own
forty one yard line here the aves. That's exactly what you want to see
if you're an Oaklare Memorial fan.You could not ask for a better start
to this ball game than that. That was an electrifying return out to about
the forty one. So Memorials startsoff eleven fifty one to go here in

(02:15):
this first quarter. Again, ittook them until the fourth quarter to score
against North last week. They wereshut out the majority of that first part
of the game. Goodfield position hereas they go. Two receivers out to
the right, one to the lefthere for Riley Holmberg. Holmberg, with
a hard count from the forty oneyard line, takes the snap. It's
a handoff to Simmon Simmons, countersleft to right, bounces off a tackler

(02:35):
up across the forty five and takendown here the forty seven yard line.
A couple men in on the tacklethere for the new Richmond Tigers, Xander
Kolzer and Abert Albert Cantu were there, and that'll be a five yard game
second and five good run there, staying ahead of the schedule here for the
old aves getting five on that carrya nice counterplay. They'd like to run

(02:58):
that out of the shotgun there, just to let him look Simmons has some
real good kind of vision on thefield. Will go from the near hash
here left to right they go,and I don't give another hand off,
and there's that counter but he hashit right at the line and that's gonna
be a loss. And there hewas again. Can't do win on the
play. That is a stop,a loss of two. Back to the
forty four yard line and it'll bethird and seven. You mentioned being a

(03:19):
head of schedule now behind schedule. No here on third down, Yeah,
absolutely, that's the sport of football. Easy come, easy go. And
the Old Ames move backwards on thatone. So third and seven now it's
ten fifty left to go. Firstquarter. No'll score between the Old Ames
and New Richmond. First drive ofthe game here for either squad, good
field position, but nothing to showyet, just three yards for the Old

(03:40):
Abs. They need to get itinto New Richmond territory for a first down
at the forty nine, hard countfrom Holmberg. Holmberg awaits the snap,
he rolls to his left, hegets the blitz picked up. Looks down
field. Ball caught, but itis not enough, caught up near the
forty eight yard line, but hitimmediately there was ferguson by a host of
linebackers for New rich Munson was thereon the tackle and that will be a

(04:01):
couple of yards game at fourth andthree now here for the Apes and that's
that's really a good play call therefor Memorial, that's really all you can
do. Just try and dump itoff there hope that your receiver can get
to the line to gain that time. It didn't happen, but there's a
lot of football left officials stopping theclock. I don't know if there was
an injured player, maybe an equipmentmalfunction for one of the New Richmond players,

(04:24):
so to be a late substitution hereeverything he'll get ready and back and
ready to go off we go.Mark Angel, James Cunningham, Kurt Husith,
Andrew Krahenbull and Dylan Praschinsky are theofficials here tonight. The punt is
away and this one will be allowedto bounce. Takes a great Memorial bounce
at the twenty and then kind ofrolls sideways near the seventeen yard line.

(04:46):
They'll be down there. That isa punt of thirty five yards and a
first down coming up here for NewRichmond after a three and out for the
Old Apes at least, rather thethe Old Dave's really doing a good job
to put themselves in a good positionhere winning that field position battle early is

(05:09):
they've got New Richmond pinned back attheir own seventeen. It can be a
big part of high school football, right, I mean field position game.
You don't think it's not like theNFL where you can, you know,
get big chunk plays all the time. Certainly is now New Richmond comes out.
Reese Hiddy is the man at quarterbackagain. They've got a couple of
guys they can play there, butit'll spread it out. Two receivers left,
two to the right. They'll givea hand off to the tailback there

(05:30):
and Miles Burke who goes right upthe gut for about three tackled on the
play by let's see. I thinkit was Gus Schumus who actually made that
tackle as well that they are givingcredit here to Kane Lyons instead. And
it will be second and eight herefor New Richmond. Nine thirty left to

(05:51):
go, first quarter, No scorebetween New Richmond a memorial here from Carson
Park tonight. Once again Hiddy isin the shotgun. He will keep it
himself. He's got a big holeup the middle on the read option,
gets across the twenty five, spinsdown up near the first down marker and
they'll give it to him to thetwenty eight yard line. That's a nine
yard game when he needed eight, and it's a first down here for the
Tigers. Good decision there by Hiddi. He had the open lane, there

(06:16):
was a party in the offensive line. He took it forward and he got
the first own. He'll come backout now again with Burke to his right
behind him in a real tight pistolformation. Two receivers right, two little
left. They go right to leftnear hash mark. Nine minutes left to
go in the first quarter. Again, another handoff here to Burke. Burke
will run out right side and heis tackled in the backfield by a man.

(06:38):
And we called a lot last week. Luke Johnson up on that defensive
line. He's the guy to watchfor memorial. He can shoot the gap
and you can see no the speedthat Johnson has. He's a real solid
player. Absolutely Johnson is right wherehe needs to be on that play,
and that's why he made the stop. He's got that defensive line mentality.
But you could also see him play, especially at the next level. Maybe

(06:58):
that linebacker spot again can really movearound the field. I'll fake the handoff
here, we'll hit you roll tohis left. The flag on the play,
they're gonna go deep downfield. They'vegot a man open, caught at
the thirty five, down to thethirty trying to break a tackle, and
he does. Downfield he goes andthat is a chance to go to the
races there as he gets into thetwenty yard line and inside to about the
nineteen yard line. Beautiful pass downfield, but a flag on the play,

(07:19):
and we'll see if this one iscoming back. Catch made by Luke
efforts and they're looking over I believein the memorial sideline. I'm assuming they're
gonna take this. A legal formationis going to be the call here,
So probably not enough guys on theline of scrimmage, and boy, what
a that's just a mental mistake there. That where race is a big time

(07:40):
junk play for New Richmond. Absolutelyanytime you have a play like that and
then you have to march all thatway back. It gets in your head
a little bit. You gotta watchfor the mental toughness here for New Richmond
to see if they can come backand put together either another big play or
a few smaller players to make upthat yard. So from second and seven

(08:01):
to second and twelve, and whatwould have been, I mean looking at
over a fifth problem a fifty fivefifty six yard gain depending on where that
spot was going to be about afifty yard gainer. So that's going to
be a race from the score books. So with eight twenty one left to
go here in the first quarter,no score. Now second and twelve for
New Richmond all the way back totheir own twenty six yard line. They'll

(08:22):
stack two receivers right to then goout to the left and more of a
traditional formation. Some one of thosereceivers in motion fake the end around to
him. It's going to be akeeper here for Hitty, and he's got
some space out across the thirty fiveand he's up near the first down marker.
They'll take him down at the forty. It's a fourteen yard gain,
A big game there in the firstown. Absolutely you can see why New
Richmond likes Hitty so much. Heis a guy who gives you so many

(08:46):
different looks at quarterback. Of course, he can throw the ball. What
we just saw there, he runsit really well and he picks up the
first out. Two receivers go left, one out to the right. The
handoff in the backfield here is upacross for Joe Hepner the forty five five
yard line. He'll get to theforty seven yard line and here's that change
up. It's what a luxury itis to have, Noah, when you
get two running backs, you cankind of, you know, put in

(09:07):
there as a battery and basically, you know, give some give another guy
a little bit of rest there toput Hepner in the game. Absolutely,
and that's something you see really wellat all levels of football. You think,
to the Green Bay Packers, AaronJones at AJ Dillon, great one
two punch there. I'll fake thehandoff here to Hepner and now running out
a little shovel pass caught at thefifty to the forty five and across the

(09:28):
forty up near the thirty nine yardline. Beautiful, a little shovel pass
out there to George Schroeder and he'llget into Memorial territory. Big gain there
of about seventeen yards in a firstdown. Absolutely, it's really neat to
see how New Richmond is coming outof that off play and they're making it
back like nobody's business. And yousee they've got a lot of wrinkles to

(09:50):
it, right, I mean,it's a read option and it's all those
things really an RPO. Right, they can go and pass out of it
as well. Schroeder goes in motionleft to right far hash mark. They
will fake the give hit, hewill try to run with it. Memorial
had it wrapped up, and nowhe counters out of it to the thirty
to the far sideline between the numbersand the sideline there near the twenty five
yard line. He goes finally caughtnear the twenty six. Another fourteen yard

(10:11):
game and New Richmond with the chunkplays right now and is starting to cut
apart this old abe defense. NewRichmond is working quickly here. It looks
like they've got somewhat of a nohuddle offense set, but hiddy as a
runner, he looked dead to rightsbehind the line of scrimmage for a good
chunk of that plane. He wasable to turn it up for fourteen yards.

(10:31):
Oh could you call you know Bluebold'sgames. Noah, this this has
kind of a college field to theoffense. Right, you mentioned the no
huddle look to the sideline. There'sa jump off side in high school football.
They just blow that dead. That'llbe five yards up against Memorial,
and so looking at a first andfive now here for New Richmond, I
do believe and that is the case. Six thirty three left to go,

(10:52):
first quarter, no score between NewRichmond Memorial. But it does have kind
of a little bit of that collegefield in it to in the way that
they look to the sideline, anda very kind of flowing offense in that
sense. Absolutely, they work quick, they work with a lot of poise.
They know exactly what they're doing andthey execute it well. So Hitty
goes in the shotgun again. Tworeceivers to the right, one to the
left handoff right up the gut,and the speed turned on there up across

(11:15):
the fifteen yard line by Ethan Panic, the junior running back. So the
fifteen that will be about a sixyard gain and they will move the chains
after a first and five there,so a number of first downs you mentioned
field position, but they've really flippedthat, haven't they From their own seventeen
yard line. They're looking for aneighty three yard touchdown drive and they're getting
close. It's a long way togo, but they don't even look like

(11:37):
they're breaking a sweat out there. And everybody with those wrist bands as well.
They check the play that's called infrom the sideline toes New Richmond stack.
Two receivers left, went out tothe right tight end, offset right
ball in the middle of hash marks. They will give it again right up
the gut here to panic who bouncesout to the left and cuts at the
ten. There's a flag coming inlate on the play, and this one
could be coming back about a fiveyard game, but it looks like it's

(11:58):
in the area of holding, andsure enough it is. And so the
first time that New Richmond's really madea big mistake on this defensive series again,
outside of that illegal formation we sawearlier, absolutely, but the way
that their offense has been churning,it's been like a machine. Everybody knows
exactly what they're doing. They're runningthe ball a lot, but it's not

(12:18):
like a ground and pound thing.It's exciting, it's fast, it's a
lot of fun to watch. Whenyou saw it again, Ethan Panic come
in. I mean, it's basicallya third running back option now that you've
had and Panic hasn't run a toncoming into this game. That holding penalty
will mark them back, I believefrom the previous spot. Of course,
that was an old rule in highschool where they'd mark it from the spot

(12:39):
of the foul regardless of where itwas, even if it was behind the
line of scrimmage, which thank godthey've changed that rule. And we'll get
off my soapbox there. But thenone at least gets caught up with the
twenty first century as we go tofirst and twenty here for New Richmond back
now at the twenty five up Memorial, still no score here in the first
quarter, rolling out is heating tothe left, and that ball is tipped
and almost intercept right up on theline. Making a great play on the

(13:01):
ball was lake Onoman, and boy, he almost picked that off from that
linebacker kind of offset defensive line positionand could have had a chance to take
it back absolutely Oniman noticed that Hiddywas rolling out to his left. That's
not a strong side for a quarterbackto roll out to a lot of times
you get an off balance offset throw, which is not where the quarterback wants

(13:22):
it. It's easier to get ahand on it. Someone once tried to
explain to me that that's a betterway for right hand and quarterbacks to roll
out, and I've never understood that. I'm with you on that rolling too,
your right when your right hand itseems to make a little more sense
to me. Handoff will be givenup the middle here in a decent gain
out across at twenty to about theeighteen yard line. Again for Ethan panic
on the play, or was itBurkey back in the game. It was

(13:43):
Burkie back in the game, Sominels Burkey making the run. It'll be
third and about fourteen now here forNew Richmond. I think this is gonna
be a huge third down here inthis game, third and long. But
you're in enemy territory if you're NewRichmond. Oh Claire Memorial needs to stop
New Richmond needs a first down. This has eating up some clock clock two

(14:05):
about five minutes already on this drive. Two receivers left, two to the
right, third and fourteen, andhe's gonna run with it here isid.
He he's across the fifteen looking forblockers across the ted. He's still up
on his feet and he's closed tothe first down marker. It looked like
he'd be stopped about what's six sevenyards short, but he just kind of
hurdled a defender at the ten andhe gets to the seven. And now
it's an interesting decision here for NewRichmond. You got fourth and a little

(14:26):
longer than one. They may gofor it here. I think they will.
It looks like that's what they're doing. I like this call. I
like the aggressive play calling and theanalytics based football. The math says,
go for it. I don't knowwhat your stomach says. Mine's a little
uneasy about it, but I trustthe number. There's another feline team last
night who went for it on apunt, a fake punt on their own

(14:50):
what seventeen yard line last night tendingto work out well. Hit He's gonna
roll out to his left, lookingdown field of the end zone. It
is up and it is incomplete. He tried for it all And how about
that memorial turns back New Richmond downnear the goal line on fourth and two
from the seven, they go forit all there to the end zone.
And how about that Memorial stayed athome and did a nice job covering.

(15:11):
Absolutely, that was a huge playfor the Memorial defense. They'd been on
that field for quite some time andlong drives like that really take it out
of you. But they were ableto get a stop. Keep the scoreboard
at goose eggs here in this one. That's a win for Memorial on that
drive. Yeah, it really is. Is now Memorial will come out for

(15:31):
their second drive that went ending atthe four fifteen mark here and a turnover
on down, so they start outat their own seven yard line. Do
the old ames Riley Holmberg and company. Two receivers to the left, one
of the rights, sends a manin motion from left to right across the
formation, fakes a handoff. Alittle slant route caught across the ten up
across the fifteen to about the sixteenyard line. That's stay Ferguson. They'll

(15:54):
be about a yard short of thefirst album. Nice little slant routes to
start things out. Absolutely, that'severybody's favorite. Playing Madden, it looked
a little bit like a stick concepthaving that slant come right across the middle
about five yards deep, really easyto hit, really easy to get yards
on. That's why they called it. Now a long drive for New Richmond
ending near the goal line at leastin the red zone of Old Claire Memorial.

(16:17):
And now they try to start itoff again the other ways Homeberg will
give it on the handoff. HereSimmons trying to bounce it out on the
right. I think he's got enoughfor the first down up near the nineteen
yard line. Didn't get a ton, They contained it pretty well, but
he only needed one and a threeyard game. He'll give him a first
down. And you can see theenergy that this Old Claire Memorial offense has
come out of the gate with hereon this drive almost looks like a different

(16:41):
offense compared to what we saw momentumin this game. Certainly swinging here in
the first quarter, big cheer forthe first down, and they were practicing
the first down cheer before the gameof the old Age student section. It's
jersey night. It looks like overfor them, as they've busted out all
the MLB, NFL and a coupleof honest jerseys as well as here's a
swing out to the left, anotherslant route that ball tipped and almost intercepted.

(17:03):
New Richmond couldn't react to it.That one wasn't a great throw.
Ferguson got his hands on it,though at about the twenty five, couldn't
hold on. It was thrown alittle bit behind him, drops to the
turf in complete. Second and ten. Yeah, it looked to be almost
towards that far shoulder pad of Ferguson. Certainly one that he could have held
in, but not an easy onewhen your momentum is taking you away from

(17:23):
the ball. And again New Richmondjust unable to kind of pounce on the
ball that was floating to the turfso teasingly. Basically there as they go.
Three receivers out to the left here, second and ten from their own
nineteen on the near hash three elevenleft to go. First quarter, no
score between Memorial and New Richmond.A bobbled snap there, they give it

(17:44):
to Simmons. They'll get a coupleup near the twenty two. Was tripped
up on the play once again.Albert Cantu was near the end of it,
but Dennis Rock was the man whochipped him up or tripped him up
rather initially. Now third and sevenhere from a morning. Holmberg did a
good job of dealing with that snapwas a little bit errant and still making
something out of it. Big thirddown here for the Old Ames, though

(18:04):
this is the second drive a gamefor the Old Abs. Both teams unable
to get anything out of their firstdrive. Moreal went turnover on downs our
apartment three and out rather punting itaway, and then a turnover on downs
for New Richmond. On their firstdrive, two receivers left one of the
right. Two men go in motion. They'll both have to reset Simmons out
of the backfield. So empty backfieldnow here for Homeburg. As he sends

(18:26):
another man in motion, look atthe back judge. He's counting down that
play clock. They're going to swingit out of the backfield out on the
left side of Julius Clark, andhe is wrapped up for a minimal game,
probably a loss in fact, ashe's wrapped up at the twenty falls
up to the twenty one, they'llbe a loss of one fourth and eight
and Memorial once again it's gonna haveto punt. Absolutely. The drive looked
like it was starting well, justkind of stalled there for the Old Ames,

(18:48):
and now they'll have to rely ontheir defense again, you see that
now in the high school game andtrying to kind of confuse a defense with
all that pre snap motion. Butnothing confused there for New Richmond. They
stay at home and did a goodjob containing that little swing pass. As
back out to punt here for Memorialwill be Vincent Mullen, and he will
punt it from about his own tenyard line. End over end kick,

(19:11):
faircatch called for and made at theforty five yard line there by the New
Richmond Tigers, Abraham Monson making thecatch and again good field position now here
for New Richmond. Absolutely a lotdifferent than last time, as they started
out at their own seventeen short fieldhere for these Tigers, and I'm excited

(19:33):
to see what they do with ithere. One thirty seven left to play.
First quarter. Yeah, still noscore between these two. Second draft
of the game now coming up forNew Richmond. Again, we'll give you
score updates on other games we canfind. Certainly at last check, Chip
Will falls and Memorial or PARTMENTM nominee. Rather with no score. A few
minutes into the first quarter, theretwo receivers left one right here for New
Richmond. They give the handoff upthe gut. Pretty good run here across

(19:56):
the fifty into Memorial territory once againfor Burke. And that was, I
believe, a new quarterback. Andlike we said, they can go to
a lot of different quarterbacks. Thatis Nick Strell stell Richt. Rather,
we're a number fourteen here tonight forNew Richmond, the sophomore quarterback. He's
six foot four, one hundred ninetynine pounds and now a new quarterback in

(20:17):
there for New Richmond. Absolutely, and it looks like he's doing well here
stell Ricks back to hand it off. No, he'll roll to his left
looking downfield, gonna run with ithere. He didn't have anything going and
he will get back to the lineas scrimmage wrapped up in the backfield again
by the folks we'd like to talkabout. Luke Johnson was in on the
play certainly, and Higden there aswell. And now it'll be third and

(20:38):
three here for New Richmond. Thirdand short the Tigers who stayed on schedule
here and this one. I'm curiousto see what play they call. So
once again New Richmond at the newquarterback in there. Stell Ricks. Pretty
good thrower here as well, andhand it off on an end around a
langness trying to get around the rightedge from left to right, and he's
got the first down, just barely. It was well contained out there on

(21:00):
the edge, but just didn't makethe tackling time there, did Nolan on
them. If that was third andfour, it might have been fourth down.
But a good job there by bothsides. New Richmond just benefiting from
the line to gain there. Yeah, it gets it up to the forty
three, a four yard game, twenty six seconds remaining here in the first
quarter. Looks like New Richmond wantsto run one more play before the end

(21:22):
of it. Still no score betweenthese two squads, Memorial and New Richmond.
New Richmond undefeated on the season. They'll fake the end around, then
fake the handoff. They want togo back to pass wide open downfield.
Bad, it's overthrown. My goodness. They had an absolutely wide open receiver
downfield in Max Kratovics and overthrown fromthe new quarterback in Stell Wreckton. That

(21:45):
will bring up second and ten withtwelve seconds left in the quarter. I
tell you, it's a lot offun to hang one of those up there,
telling your receiver to go deep andget under it. But it's really
hard to put the right amount ofzip on that ball. It certainly is
two receivers to the left, wonderthe right on the far hash likely one
more play here in this quarter. They'll hand it off and a pretty decent

(22:07):
run fort Epner rather up the middle. We'll get across the forty to the
thirty eight yard line, and we'llhave a third and about five coming up
for New Richmond, and that willstart off the second quarter. No score
between New Richmond and Memorial Old Amestrying to get their first conference win,
and then you've got three quarters totry to do it. We'll be back
right after this Classic Rock ninety twoone. This is so clear high school

(22:32):
football on Classic Rock nine two.You need a hitchhaul, pulled, dump
or transport. You need a trailer. Get quality trailers at reasonable prices at
Goodridge Trailer Sales in Health Mound,Wisconsin's premier trailer dealership. Goodridge has hundreds

(22:52):
of new and pre owned utility equipment, cargo, dump and car trailers,
including the state's largest selection of livingquarters horse trails. Go to Goodrich Trailers
dot Com. That's good Rich Trailersdot Com. Your home for the Old
Abs is classic rock and welcome backin here to Carson Park. As we

(23:17):
head to the second quarter between NewRichmond and Memorial, here we have no
score between the two squads. Beknotsand Noah Shorts with you Noah first impressions.
First quarter. The Richmond's moved theball pretty well, but Old Abes
have bended and nut broken absolutely theeau Claire Memorial defense. They've gotten stops
when they've needed to, and that'skept this game scoreless. Nick Stel wrecked

(23:40):
in at quarterback. Reese Hitty wasthe man in a quarterback in the first
drive. Cell RECs come in again. He's a six foot four hundred and
ninety nine pounds sophomore. He's completingabout sixty percent of his passes for two
hundred and forty six yards on theseason. Looking left the entire way here
on third and five, nothing there. He's still got some time rolling to
his right, tuck it to runto the thirty five to the thirty and
he's pushed out of bounds almost latethere, but he's got the first down

(24:03):
up at the twenty eight yard line. A scramble of ten yards. Sell
Rec kind of impressive. He's patient. That was an impressive little scramble.
Yeah, I want to talk aboutthe way that he was able to sense
that pressure coming in from the defensivetackle, the edge rusher is what they
call it these days. Here Stellwas looking past the whole time, and

(24:25):
then he decided, Hey, youknow, I can get some yards here,
and he did. That was impressive, I thought for sure from him.
And now he'll send a man inmotion and stead he'll give it off
to the tailback that is Hepner upthe middle. He's across the twenty five
and then spun down up near thetwenty two yard line. But that's about
a six yard gain for him there. And once again in on the tackle
here for Memorial was Zach Higden, but not the four a big six yard

(24:48):
gain. And here with Stelarc inthe game at quarterback for New Richmond,
they've slowed it down a little bit, not quite as fast of a tempo
as they were going with earlier inthe game. So once again Steller in
the shotgun formation. You'll put Heppnerto his right, two receivers left,
one to the right, eleven sixteenleft to go. Second quarter, no

(25:08):
score, second and four from thetwenty two of Memorial handoff to Hepner.
He's across the twenty, bounces offa tackler, tries to spin out of
another. He got close to thefirst down. They will stop the clock
to move the chains, I believe, because they're giving them a first down.
Eleven o six left to go onthe second quarter, and they'll move
the six here for New Richmond.Absolutely, it doesn't take much. You

(25:30):
just need the ball to break theplane. They say that time it did.
It's a new rule change. Obviouslyin college football are not stopping the
clock on first downs anymore. Stillare in high school though, as they
look over to the sideline here anddo the tigers to see what play will
come in From the sideline, you'vegot a couple of coaches and a couple
of players in green kind of jerseypull over tops that are all signaling in

(25:53):
the plays. They know who toget the official play from. Two receivers
to the right, two to theleft once again for stell rec collapse and
a flag comes in from the backjudge. That'll be to lay a game
and off we go. That willmove New Richmond back five. Yeah,
that'll make it a first and fifteenor ten thirty six left to go in

(26:15):
the second quarter. We do haveplay clocks here at Carson Park. Why
we don't use him for high school, I don't know. Okay, Pete
gets off his soapbox again and we'lljust watch the back judge count like he's
a basketball official instead. But nonethelessStelric unable to see that one. He'll
hand it off to Hepner again theleft side. He dances out at the
twenty making a cut and he's downnear the sixteen yard line. Pretty good

(26:37):
game there of seven yards that'll bringup second and about maybe eight or seven
here Now for New Richmond. Yeah, New Richmond, they have not played
a perfect game so far. Onoffense. They've made some mistakes, but
after they make one of those mistakes, like moving backwards on a penalty,
they always follow it up with apositive play. Second and eight score here

(27:00):
for Richmond immemorial. But again NewRichmond threatening give it to Heppner again.
He bounces off a tackle one,but then he's wrapped up once again by
Luke Johnson who stops him for maybea loss of one on the play.
And here's third nine's exact same situationas their first drive, Noah and got
into the red zone and all ofa sudden it's stall and they went front
and fourth didn't get it. Imaginethey'll do the same if they don't get

(27:22):
it here on third down as well. Absolutely, I'm not expecting them to
go for the entire nine. Ithink they're trying to get five, maybe
six, to make that fourth downa little bit manageable. But that's their
game. For New Richmond, selerechas two receivers stack left, one to
the right, ball on the farhash left to right. They go third
and nine fakes the handoff, rollsto his right, still looking he's got
plenty of time now the old Ageare closing down on him. Throws it

(27:44):
over the middle cot at the tenand then push out of bounds it right
at the ten and Schroeder looks likehe's a yard or two short. Good
coverage there, but nonetheless he's gonnabe about two yards short. And fourth
end two coming up here for NewRichmond, Well, they needed nine,
they got seven. I'd say thatstaying ahead of schedule. And again,
I think after what happened on thatlast drive, they're not gonna be kicking

(28:07):
field goals in this situation here againstMemorial, they want to get all seven
or at least all six points thatthey can get in this situation. Stelerect
again at quarterback. They'll stack tworeceivers right here on the short side of
the field. Ball I'm in.Hear hash left to right, they go
nine, twelve, left to go. They send him an emotion. They
give it to him on the endaround, trying to bounce out left hit
at the line. Oh, it'sgonna be really close. That was Laygnus

(28:30):
on the end around. I thinkhe's a yard short. Yeah, sure
enough, he needed the eight. He only got to the nine. And
what a good job by the defensethere once again by Memorial. And while
we talked about Johnson last week, this week it's been Zack Higdon. He
makes him massive stop to turn himaway again. Yeah, he's been all
over the place. But this Memorialdefense as a unit, they're doing a

(28:51):
great job of getting the big stopswhen they need to sway the momentum here
in this ball game, keeping ittied scoreless. It is still a long
field though for Memorial, just likeit was on their last drive. They'll
start at their own nine yard line, and you look at the field position
was good on the first drive, owned forty one, but own seven o
nine here for their third drive. So despite not getting it there on fourth

(29:15):
down to Richmond, at least backsup Memorial here to start out again in
the high school game, that canmean quite a bit for you, as
once again this will be Holmberg inthe shotgun. He will hand it off
to Simmons trying to run up themiddle. Oh, he trucks a defender
near the eleven yard line, couldn'tget all the way through him. But
you can see it's almost like ShamarSimmons, you know, it invites that

(29:36):
contact he likes. He's kind ofthat big, bruising running back right up
the middle there at a six footone two oh nine. Absolutely, it's
really hard for an offense here forMemorial to be able to have success when
they're starting backed up this far.Now that doesn't mean it's impossible, certainly,
just something to look at. Thefield gets so much longer when you

(29:57):
get backed up. Receivers right oneleft a gain of three on the play.
They got to the the thirteen, maybe the twelve yard line, and
out time out coming in here,it looked like from Reggie Larson and the
Tigers. I'll take time out,We'll do it two eight twenty eight left
to go. Second quarters, stillno score between Memorial and Richmond. Back
right after this on Classic Rock ninetytwo one. This is out clear high

(30:19):
school football. On Classic Rock ninetytwo one. I was down on my
luck. My car was a pizza. Luckily I found Attack King. Otto
King showed me that they drew mekid. I went down to Bird Street

(30:40):
in a Claire. I got agreat deal, the lowest of the Yeah,
Auto King is the only way togo. Your home for the old
apes is Classic Rock ninety two one. Welcome back. He once get here
to Carson Park out of the timeout. New Richmond not liking the defensive

(31:03):
set that they had against Memorial,so they take a time out. Here
are the eight twenty eight left togo in the second quarter, Pikanutzon Noah
Shorts with you know, score betweenMemorial and New Richmond. Here with eight
twenty eight left to go. Herein the second quarter, Memorial, with
the ball second and seven from theirown twelve yard line, take the hand
out to Simmons. He picks upthe blitz barely and now he's gonna run
and he's got a chance. Holmberggets all the way to the twenty to

(31:25):
the twenty five, makes a move. They's taken down really awkwardly at the
twenty eight. He gets up nicelythough. That was a little bit dangerous
how he was taken down by willHepner, But in the end it's a
first down for the eight. Absolutely, look at Holmberg, he looks he
looked like he had eyes in theback of his head. I don't know
how he got away without getting sacked, and he was able to avoid contact

(31:45):
for most of that run, makingmoves left and right. Water run there
by the quarterback Holmberg. Yeah, that was impressive, especially the way that
Simmons barely picked up that blitz andcould have been a much different result.
Now they'll swing it out on theright that caught by Julius Clark tries to
make a move, get up backnear the line of scrimmage, but he'll
be wrapped up for a loss ofone on the play, tackled by Andy

(32:07):
Johnson and others. Yeah, Ithink they're gonna mark it right back to
the line of scrimmage. So secondand ten, that's kind of the bargain.
When you run something resembling a swingpass a screen pass like that,
there's a chance that you don't getback to the line when you move laterally
and not across the field. Yeah, a little bit of a kind of

(32:28):
old school West Coast offense right wherethey're trying to get the ball out to
their speeders and the flat let themcreate. But New Richmond's been up to
the task on defense. They getclosed down quickly. They'll stack three receivers
out to the left side here, they'll give the handoff on a counter to
Simmons again to the thirty pounces outto the thirty five taken down awkwardly.
It did look like a face maskat about the thirty seven, and this

(32:50):
should mark off I believe fifteen yards. I believe in high school, knowing
they still have the five yard facemasks, but this one has to be
I believe another fifteen marked off absolutely. Well, wait and see for the
call here, but that's what itlooked like to me. Yeah, they
did give the personal foul signals,so that run was about nine yards.
But they'll mark off another fifteen yardshere and that should get Memorial into New

(33:13):
Richmond. Territory, and that's thefirst time they've been there all game.
And with seven to twelve left togo here in the second and no score,
a good chance for Memorial to convertfor some points on this track.
Absolutely, they will take over hereat the few rich but forty eight yard
line the first time in plus territory. I believe I'm right in saying here
for Memorial. Yeah, absolutely, quick score update Manominee leading seven and nothing

(33:37):
at Chai Hi with about a minuteand a half left to play in the
first quarter. There, they'll givea handoff here to Simmons counters right to
left, He's got a hold ofthe forty five and he hits the defender
hard at the forty one yard lineand rolls down for the tackle. And
tell you what, Bjorn Bonham andgot the worst of that one seven yards
on the game second and three. What a runner there is Simmons. He's

(34:00):
kind of saying like I'm going torun through you, and he runs through
two three defenders every time he getsa touch. Yeah, he's again powerful
running back and hasn't had enough spaceto get out and kind of show off
his speed. So yeah, he'shad to use that bruising ability, and
he's done a nice job so far. Second and three from the forty one
bobbled handoff. In fact, itwent right to Simmons off the hands of

(34:22):
Homeburg, and Simmons is gonna bounceit out around the left edge, across
the forty and close to the thirtyfive yard line. They'll give him.
It looks like five yards on theplane a first down up to the thirty
six. Another awkward, bobbled snap, but it ended up working out for
the men in purple. Yeah.Absolutely, Homeburg and Simmons showing off their
awareness on that one. Simmons doinga good job to get to the near

(34:43):
sideline, finding that open space andgetting across the line to gain to get
a new set of down. Soyou mentioned being ahead of schedule. When
you second and three, you knowyou don't need to worry about trying to
get off more yards. Hey,I can get five out to the edge,
I'll take it, get a firstdown. That's exactly what Simmons did.
Two receivers left, one right. One man goes in motion left or
right across the formation that's wiggled. They throw it on a slant route.
He ball's tipped up on the airand falls somewhat non threatening lee if you

(35:08):
will, to the turf. JuliusClark the intended receiver, and it went
off his hands and almost a chancefor R. J Amondson to come away
with the interception instead. Second andten and Pete. You could tell Holmberg
wasn't happy with his placement on thatone. You could see he shook his
head a little bit. That onewas a little high for the receiver.
We'll have to see how that affectshim on the next throw. A second

(35:30):
and ten now, so they're gonnahave to find the right play to kind
of get a big chunk on thisplay. Six thirteen left to go,
second quarter, no score here betweenMemorial and New Richmond. Handoff to Simmons
moving left. He's got a decenthole across the thirty five spun down by
two defenders and about the thirty twoyard line. Will Hefner was there along
with Kyle Jermaine, and he'll getabout four. So third and six coming

(35:53):
up here for the old Abes.Third and six here in this one.
This is going to be a bigplay here for Memorial. They need these
six yards to keep this momentum going. Yeah, you get a feeling again.
There's that gonna be a whole lotof chances for Memorial to score.
This new Richmond defense very very solidthis season. Three receivers go out to

(36:15):
the right, third and five here, they're gonna call it along five four.
Memorial need to get to the twentysix yard line. They swing it
out of the backfield. It isbobbled and incomplete and try to get it
out on the right edge to oneof the backup running backs and Ricky Spencer
who's into the game, but hebobbles the pass. And now you're in
that territory where you're too close topunt, you're too far to kick a

(36:37):
field goals. You might like wesee them go for it here? Yeah,
I think we will. I thinkthat's what we're seeing here. This
is really no man's land here thisarea of the field. They've got it
about the thirty two. They've gota long five to go. Let's see
if they can do it. Ihave twenty seven left to go. Second
quarter, no score between Richmond andMemorial. Memorial fourth and six, they

(37:00):
need the twenty six yard line.Ball between the thirty one and the thirty
two. They'll send two men inmotion out to the right. They both
reset and once again Homeburger waits thesnap. They bring the Blintz Homeburg back
to past single coverage near side.It is up but one headed grab.
Did he come down with it?It is no signal yet. We're waiting
the signal from the officials. They'recoming out like he made the catch of

(37:20):
the fifteen yard line? Did hethere? Still hasn't been a signal.
Think they're talking it over there? It is Oh gotch tay ferguson one handed
grab, bobbling it on that dearsideline, going to the ground. How
do you make a catch like that? You'll be hard pressed to see a
better catch in the NFL this weekend, then you will right there? My

(37:43):
goodness, what a play, Whata catch? And now whistle? I
think we might have a time out. Is there some confusion in personnel here
for memorial? But everybody needs totake their breath after a one handed bobbled
grab on the sideline. The officialdidn't call it right away. He talked
with the back judge or what agood fifteen seconds or so before he made
the call. Yeah, fifteen twentyseconds. You and I were sitting at

(38:05):
the edge of our seats, handson the desk here in the press box.
That was exciting. It's one ofthose old ones I remember being a
high school referee. We do littleleague football and or little league baseball and
that sort of thing. And wenta shortstop and make a great diving play.
If it was a bang bang playat first, and maybe you think
he's safe, you'd still give himthe out. Well, it was such
a great catch that I don't thinkthe official wanted to take it away from

(38:29):
him there on the sideline, andthey gave it to him. And I'm
sure New Richmond's not happy about it, but boy, he almost had to
reward the effort. If you're notsure if he was in bounds or not.
Absolutely, And I mean I thinkhelping that out is the memorial student
section which was right there. Couldyou imagine if he had waved his arms,
No, it would have been riotsand no Claire, all this sudden

(38:51):
we'd be hearing about it in theLeader Telegram later twenty eight to nothing.
Bald went over Ellsworth right now atthe moment as well. Another score update
from around the air here in westernWisconsin. All right out of the time
out first and ten from the fifteenHomeburg back to pass looks out right slant
route. The ball is caught whena diving grab near the six yard line
and tay Ferguson's having himself a heckof a second quarter here is now it's

(39:13):
to be second and one from theNew Richmond six for Memorial. It's another
slant route for Memorial. They reallylike that route, and it's easy to
see why. It's almost always open. It's easy for any quarterback to hit
and it gets you about five yardsevery time. Tick under five minutes left
to go here in the second quarter, no score, Memorial and New Richmond

(39:36):
ball at the six yard line ofthe Tigers Memorial and the shotgun is a
direct snap to Simmons to kind ofput the wildcat in there. He tries
to get the first down. He'sclose. The last effort got him close
to the sticks, but I thinkthey're looking to get to the five.
So he's about a half a yardshort here now with the third down coming
up, and there really wasn't awhole lot of room for Simmons on that
one. New Richmond did a goodjob of knowing where they're gaps were and

(40:00):
making sure that Simmons had no placeto same formation. Simmons in the wildcat.
He's got three blockers in front ofhim, bounces off a tackler.
Oh, a nice lunge at theend. He's got the first down up
to the four yard line. Hewas hit it about the six, but
it was a shoe string tackle. He just used that big body to kind
of lunge and fall forward for thefirst down. Absolutely, That's why you
do all the squats in the inthe weight room so you can use that

(40:22):
base and push forward across the lineto gain It's a first down for Memorial.
Same formation they're keeping Simmons in thewildcat. He takes the snap,
runs left, follows his blockers tothe end zone. Touchdown, Old Aves
a four yard touchdown run for ShamarSimmons. It's his third touchdown run of
the season, his fourth touchdown overall, and the Old Aves have the surprising

(40:46):
six nothing lead with four Old oneleft to play. Here in the second
quarter, Jamar Simmons drove the busfor the Old Names on that one.
He was the bus driver. Hewas beeping the horn and he carried his
team to an early six nothing leadhere four minutes to play at the second
quarter four yard touchdown run from Simmonson a long drive I gonna start at

(41:08):
their own nine yard line. Tookover five minutes and ends with a Memorial
touchdown that is a ninety one yarddrive. The extra point is up and
good seven and nothing Old aids withthe lead. We come back right after
this on Classic Rock ninety two oneis no clear high school football. On

(41:59):
again your home for the Old Amesis Classic Rock Welcome back, Yeah here
to Carson Park. A ninety oneyard drive for the Oak Bear Memorial Old
Ames and it ends in a ShamarSimmons Wildcat formation four yard touchdown run took

(42:20):
just over five minutes, about fiveminutes and six seconds in facts and now
memorial. With the seven to nothinglead and this one, they just send
a little shock waves throughout the bigRivers conferences. People are on their phones
checking the scores. No, thisis not, I think what everybody expected
with this three and o New Richmondsquad. And still a lot of football
left here, but an early leadis still worth something here for the Old
Ames, something to take into hereto this next drive. At least students

(42:45):
section the sideline. Everybody pretty pumpedhere is there's a line drive kick for
the Old Abs and we scooped upat about the twelve yard line here on
the return for New Richmond trying tobounce it out to the left of the
thirty, it's a big return forEthan Panic down the far side, one
of the fifty cuts across to theforty five yard line of the Old Aves,
and that is a messive return offorty yards up to the forty five
yard line of the Old Abs andgreat field position for New Richmond to start

(43:07):
off the drive. New Richmond gotthat return by blocking alone, the blocking
by all ten men besides the returneron that Tiger's Special Teams unit was unbelievable.
They were just pushing forward with recklessabandoned and it's got them in plus
territory to start the drive when hescooped that up near the near the near

(43:30):
side numbers, and of course hebounced it out all the way to the
far side near the down near thesideline. There used a lot of the
field. Well as here's a littlekeeper on that far side for hitty Hit.
He's got some decent yardag here acrossthe forty and out across the thirty
five. It should be enough fora first down up near the thirty let's
see four yard line, maybe thethirty three when they end up marking it,
but it'll be on a ten yardgame. In the first down.

(43:52):
Hit he doing a good job backin the game, keeping those legs fresh
and using them as a running quarterbackon the rich and if they are again
that team that everybody kind of thinksthere with this undefeated record, you know
look to bounce back, and willbounce back on this drive. Three minutes
thirty seconds left, end around onceagain to Langenis. Langness bounces out to
the twenty. He's to the tenand inside the ten yard line, he

(44:15):
gets dragged down and that was abig hole on the right side, and
when he cut it up the middleon the end around going left or right,
there was a lot of green infront of him. Absolutely hitty back
in the game. Now for theTigers, they're going with that up tempo
offense, kind of of minds ofthe nineteen nineties Buffalo Bill's k gun offense
really known for wearing down the staminaof the opposing defense. Twenty six yard

(44:37):
game. They will fake the endaround hit. He gonna keep it himself
running left. He's got a holdacross the five, staying out his feet
here the goal line, and NewRichmond is down at the half yard line.
Of fish is coming into market there, but he got close about seven
and a half yards. It'll besecond end goal from inside the one,
and they're gonna hurry up here andtry to catch Memorials sleeping here. On
defense, they want a time outand they're gonna get it. Rob Scott

(45:00):
knew exactly what was happening there andsaid, I'm not going to chance a
penalty. I'm not going to chanceanything. Let's call a time out and
that's what he did. Absolutely probablythe smart thing to do there in that
one. It's hard to say becauseyou never know what's gonna happen if you
don't call that time out. Butmy feeling in most things football is better
safe than sorry. You know,it feels like we're I'm not going to

(45:21):
give New Richmond the touchdown yet,but if they do punch this one in,
no on. I mean, itfelt like Memorial had to do a
lot on that last drive to getthe touchdown that they did, but the
momentum, they feeling good about themselves, everything like that. Then a big
returning out. I mean, thismight end up being a four or five
play drive, get in very veryquickly for New Richmond. That's a little
bit of a slap in the face, a little slap back, right,
I mean, you can't be feelinggood if you're a Memorial after giving up

(45:43):
a touchdown in this way. Yeah, it's hard to deal with. It
feels like New Richmond has been ridingbicycles down the field instead of running.
Yeah, no, water crew gonnaget off the field here. New Richmond
wanted to run the play before theofficials were ready for this time out to
be over two fifty five left inthe second quarter, Old Ape seven,
the Tigers of New Richmond. Nothingand we'll get everybody off the field and

(46:07):
be ready to go. A Reesehitty again in the shotgun, balled about
the half yard line. He's gotJoe Hepner to his left. Now he'll
go up under center, takes it. He pushes the pile right and he
is in for the score. Alittle bit of trickery there from New Richmond.
Looked like it was going to bea shotgun. Then he got under
center and just qub he sneaks itup the middle for a touchdown. Absolutely,
if you watched a lot of thePhiladelphia Eagles in the NFL last season,

(46:30):
that's what Jalen Hurts love to do. They love that quarterback sneak to
the extent that the NFL thought aboutoutlawing it. The Richmond, of course,
taking a page out of Philly's playbookand getting the six points. Now,
they'll put that swinging gate formation into kind of see the looking memorial.
Now they'll line up for the extrapoint onto attempt it. Here for

(46:52):
New Richmond is Bjorn bonhaman holder ishitting to fifty three left to go second
corner. Extra point is up andit is good. We are tied at
seven, two fifty three left tothe second back. After this, you're

Welcome back Iner to Carson Park.A less than a minute drive for New
Richmond gets them on the gore toabsolute touchdown, the ninety one yard touchdown
drive of Memorial. We're tied atseven between these two squads, two fifty

(48:02):
three left in the second quarter, and that, of course a little bit
demoralizing though, but I'm sure Memorialthey've got two fifty three left. They
can get back out in the leaguebefore we head into the halftime locker room.
Absolutely, they've got tons of time. They can work this drive pretty
much anyway they want. It comesto kickoff for New Richmond here to the
nearest science Ferguson, We'll take itat about the seventeen yard line to the

(48:22):
twenty between the hash marks. Tryingto make a move spinning down, but
he is swarmed by a bunch ofwhite Jersey's about the twenty four yard line,
and then it is where they willtake him down. So I'll have
to go seventy six yards, butthat's nothing compared to ninety one yards they
just went on the last drive. Two forty seven remaining here in the first
half. This is going to bea huge drive here for the old Age.

(48:45):
They want to go in here andprove that they can do something on
offense here in this one, theoffense didn't get enough well, they got
enough chance to rudge, maybe notas much as they wanted to, but
they certainly got enough water and they'recertainly going to be ready to play here.
Two forty seven left in this half. Two receivers right, one left

(49:06):
here for Holmburg, far hash Mark, right to left they go. He's
got Simmons as his tailback to hisleft. Sin's a man in motion across
the formation. That's Wigal. We'llgive it to Simmons up the gut and
he's spun down right near the lineof scrimmage. Good penetration there on the
defensive side. And I feel likeI've called his name pretty much all night
here for a New Richmond. ButAlbert Cantu was there initially on the tackle.

(49:29):
Not a whole lot of space therefor the Old Ames. They thought
about going into a no hunnel. Now they will huddle up and take their
time, make sure they know exactlywhat they want to do well, and
part of this being a big drive. Even you don't if you don't score
here the way that New Richmond justscored, you can't give them the ball
back here and you know, gothree and out and leave some time left

(49:50):
for the Tigers to maybe score andtake the lead to halftime themselves. So
back to pass her Holmberg. Hewas dropped back a good over seven steps
and now the ball is out onthe catch, A New Richmond is saying
the they have it. Weigel caughtit. Are they gonna call his incomplete
or a fumble? I think they'recalling it a fumble, but it was
fallen on by the old Abes.In fact, Weigel got it back after
about a two yard gainer. Soup to about the twenty seven yard line,

(50:12):
Memorial went with that kind of swingpass screen pass again, and it
might get you some open space.Sometimes it does not get you a whole
lot of yardage unless it develops well. That time it didn't. So it's
third and long clock ticking one thirtyfour, one thirty three left here in
the first half, tied at seven, one time out left for New Richmond.
They might take it here if Memorialdoesn't get the first down and the

(50:36):
clock doesn't stop at an incompletion.Three receivers to the left, nobody the
right. He still left ten secondsbefore they need to snap it. We'll
look to the back judge, whowill start counting down the five second count.
Take the snap, Yer, rollHomebury. We'll roll to his left,
looking looking looking still nobody open.He throws this one dangerously. It's
ten and it's intercepted at the thirty. So the twenty five and out of
bounds go the Tigers. Kyle Germainewas the man to pick it off,

(51:00):
and just like that, New Richmondhas a good chance to take a lead
and a half time with one ohsix left to go. And I get
the sense of urgency, but Holberg, I think has to take a minute
before throwing that ball into triple coverage, three white jerseys around it. That's
one that he definitely wants back.Yeah, I just didn't need to force

(51:22):
that one. Like you said, you're better off punting that one away,
making him go a little further asyou say. And it's a little bit
of a mistake there mentally for thesenior quarterback. And now we'll see the
change at quarterback here. This iswhat New Richmond does. They'll bring in
Nick stell Wrect again at quarterback.Three receivers go left, one out to
the right, one oh six remainingball at the twenty one yard line,

(51:44):
rather as they swinging out left.Catch made at the fifteen and down right
at the fifteen. It doesn't itmade more toward the twenty, but got
to the fifteen there on. Theplay was Carter Langnis and we'll get about
six yards on the play up tothe sixteen yard line. Clock keeps running.
New Richmond taking their time here inthis one brings out seconds second and

(52:05):
four. Officially, they've got sometime clock running. Forty seconds left here
and a half tied at seven. One receiver left, two to the right
here for stell Rec. Stell Rectakes the snap, looks right the entire
way, throws it on a quickslant route incomplete and then try to go
again to Langnis that one falls tothe turf. It'll be third and four.
Absolutely, that one at the kneescould have been a good catch,

(52:30):
but I mean completion, not theworst thing in the world there for New
Richmond, they've got another down toget three more yards to get that first
out. Two receivers stack left, one right, ball closer to the far
hash there as they go left toright with thirty one seconds remaining here in
the second quarter, handed off onthe end a round once again to Langness.
Langnis was space in the ten,he said the five, and he's

(52:50):
kind of spun down at about thethree yard line there as the old Dave's
make the stop once again. Higdenon on the stop, but not before
he gets a first down. Foxstops don't think they've taken the time out
here, they want to run aplay quickly. The official still hasn't one
on the clock. Now they willand now they will take their final time
out with twenty two seconds remaining herein the second quarter. So alright,

(53:13):
you got first and goal from thetwo yard line, twenty two seconds left,
tight at seven. And we've seenthe Tigers run the ball pretty well
in this situation last time they weredown here, noah. But now you've
got a chance for a situation whereyou don't have any time out, So
running the ball is tough. Ifyou don't get the touchdown here, you
likely have enough time to get upand spike it. But this high school
football at is easier said than done. Absolutely. But the thing is they've

(53:37):
got four plays now to go twoyards. So if I'm New Richmond,
I'm passing got at least these firstthree downs safe passes, you know,
going a little bit conservative here, but you're putting that ball in the air.
You're either stopping the clock or you'reputting six points on the board.

(53:57):
Well, the nice thing about beingat the two yard line as well as
if you do run a running play, you know, it's not like your
receivers have a long way to comeback to get up to the line to
spike it. They can just kindof stand still. Basically, you can
get right back up in the spikeif you want, but you're right at
least one passing play, if nottwo here before you go to the ground.
I would have to think. I'msure New Richmond would certainly hope that
their wide receivers would block and notjust stand still. There's that too,

(54:20):
right still wrecked here again in theshotgun, he will send Burke's running back
to his left. Twenty two secondsleft, he will go with the fade
route back corner of the end zone. It is up and incomplete and well
covered in the back corner of theend zone. Let's see who have the
coverage back there. Believe it wasGrant locking, and it was and incomplete,
and they'll go with a second downand only a couple of seconds run

(54:40):
off. Eighteen seconds remain in thehalf locking with great coverage on that fade
route. Very tough to defend, but it's like their jerseys were touching.
That's how close he was. Greatdefensive play by the old age. I'll
see if they go that way again. They're isolating out on the left side.
They'll hand it off though instead, and Burke is in for the touch.

(55:00):
Now Miles Burke in on an easyplay, barely touched before he got
to the goal line. It isnow thirteen to seven Tigers with fifteen seconds
remaining here in the first half.On a whole lot you can do there
if you're a Memorial again. Ithink they were still potentially looking for as
you said, no, I'm lookingfor that pass route. They looked like

(55:21):
they were isolating on the far sidewe're New Richmond for Max Krotovics. But
they ended up not going that routeand look like they might run a play
out of the swinging gate. Theywill try to go end around. It's
a pass play back of the endzone and they get the two point conversion
a little handoff. They gave itto Kyle Germaine. He throws to the
back corner of the end zone, the catch made and just like that,

(55:43):
the two pointer is converted on sometrickery here for the Tigers. Fifteen to
seven Tigers lead at fifteen seconds leftin the half. We'll be back right
after this. On Classic Rock ninetytwo one, this is so clear high
school football on Classic Rock without yourhealth, you might as well sit on
the sidelines. Provisions Health is reinventinghealthcare so you can stay in the game.

(56:07):
Provisions now offers functional medicine and occupationalhealth services so you know where your
body stands and have access to effectivesolutions. Plus DOOT physicals and fed med.
Make Provisions your healthcare solution. Goto Provision Set Health to learn more
about what they can do for youand get started. Because nobody wants to

(56:27):
spend the season on the sidelines.Your home for the old Apes is Classic
Rock ninety two one. Welcome backin here too, Carson Park. The
Richmond Tigers after the German interception onlyneed to go twenty one yards and it's
about fifty seconds to score on aBurke touchdown run. So the Tiger is

(56:51):
now leading fifteen to seven after convertinga two point conversion. Fifteen seconds remaining
here in the second quarter is alead. O Clare Memorial and a squib
kick is the direction of this one. He scooped up once again by tay
Ferguson about the twenty yard line. He's got a hole, he said.
The forty yard line has one manto beat. Now they slow him down
across the fifty, but he's upnear the forty six of New Richmond.
Six seconds remaining here in the secondquarter, and I think we might get

(57:15):
a chance to see just how farRiley Holmeberg can throw a ball at the
end of this half. I thinkthis is gonna be really exciting. I
want to take it back to thattwo point conversion for New Richmond. If
you're a Blue Gold football fan,Rob Ericson in his first game with the
Blue Golds last week at Carson Park, came out of that swinging gate formation
and called for a two point conversionto catch the opposing team off guard.

(57:39):
And New Richmond must have been watchingbecause they use the exact same play.
Well, they call it in theNFL a copycat league. It's a it's
a copycat sport in that way, right, and they ran that to perfections,
just like the Blue Golds did.I go two receivers right, two
left again, we'll see how farHomeberg can throw the ball here as it
looks like a New Richmond also isin that I'm gonna say prevent formation,

(58:02):
but they've got defensive backs all theway back in about the fifteen yard line,
and we'll see a whistle in atime out taken by Oak Claire.
Memorial one score update for you inthe second quarter with about two fifteen left
to play in the first half,Manominee leading Chipwa fourteen to seven. We'll
get you for a few other scoreshere at halftime as well, looking into
that Hudson River Falls game, andwe'll try to get you an update on

(58:24):
what North is doing up in Superioras well. Again, Peak Newson Noah
Shorts with you here on Classic Rockninety two, nfwmqmdominy O Claire, Chipwa
Falls Rock nine two one dot com, and iHeart Radio Dan Price as our
producer back in studio Fun Games. So far, Memorials held their own.
I think there may have been afew fans who could have been a little

(58:44):
nervous that Memorial might get blown outof this one early, as New Richmond
has scored so many points this seasonover the course, I mean, they're
averaging thirty four point three points agame. They only give up eighteen points
a game. I thought maybe thismight be a blowout, but Memorials hung
in there. I know they've givenaway a couple of touchdowns knowing, but
I think they have to feel happyabout where they're at at the moment.
Absolutely, and they've got a chanceto go into the half tide. It's

(59:06):
pretty improbable, but you never know, especially in high school football. Only
about forty six yards to go.Let's see if they can do it.
Here on this play, three defensivebacks back standing about the fifteen yard line.
Again, we're gonna find out howfar Riley Holmberg can throw the ball
from the forty six yard line.In fact, it's not gonna be Homeburg
instead launching it back toward the notthe far sideline. There was a tackle

(59:27):
made there, no, no,there comes a flag on the play.
We're gonna have this game extended, this half extended by a play. The
interception for New Richmond came from Mons, and he's returning it across the fifty
up near the forty yard line. But the defender or the receiver rather on
that far side, was tackled bythe defender over on the far side.
So it's gonna be passing their ferenshas to be. I know you don't

(59:49):
see it called on a hail Marytoo often, but I don't know how
what else you can call on thatplay. Yeah, that's that's just what
it is. You can't hit himlike that. I mean again literally just
a tackle basically put on him.And sure enough that passenger turns will extend
the half year by an untimed down. It is just fifteen yards in the

(01:00:09):
high school game, so they'll markthis one up to the thirty one yard
liner. So and that becomes amuch easier pass to throw here for the
old Daves. And that was aGrant Lochin who was in throwing that one
again, maybe thinking he had alittle bit stronger of an arm than a
Homeburg. But now that it's onlya thirty thirty one yard throw, they're

(01:00:32):
gonna bring Homeburg back out to potentiallytoss this one. And when you think
of untimed downs and hail Mary's,I know that you want you don't want
to go here, Pete, Butyou think of Aaron Rodgers and that great
one he hadn't happen against the Vikings, you can go there. That's fine.
I just I just know you don'tlike the Packers. But sorry,
I'm sure that's what a lot oflisteners at home are thinking. That's where

(01:00:52):
minds, my mind's going to.Right, you could have went to Roger
stopback, and then I really wouldhave been upset with you. But two
receivers to the right here again, they've only got about thirty one yards to
throw. Holmberg steps up, heis hit and he fumbles the ball and
New Richmond will recover it at thethirty three Hopefully he's okay a blind side
hit. He does get up,seems to be all right as he will

(01:01:13):
walk off the field. So afifteen to seven lead for New Richmond here
over the Old Abs as we goto halftime, real quick, NOI your
thoughts. First half, Like wesaid, Memorial hanging tough, but New
Richmond those last two drives looking prettyconvincing. It's gonna be I don't say
uphill sledding, but New Richmond's goingto receive the ball to start the second
half. They could easily get outto a two score lead. If Memorial

(01:01:34):
is not careful. Absolutely, it'scertainly gonna be uphill. But Oak Claire
Memorial not out of this one bya long shot. I think we're gonna
have a good second half here. This one that is what we call a
radiots in the business. There. It's gonna be a fun one, certainly
in the second half, and we'dlove to have you along with us.
We're gonna take an extended break here. We'll come back with some stats,
some scores, and more as weget ready for the second half. At
halftime, it's New Richmond fifteen OakClaire Memorial seven, and you're listening to

(01:01:59):
it school football right here on ClassicRock ninety two one the halftime show.
If Pete Canutson is next, thisis ou Claire High School football on Classic
Rock ninety two one. Your homefor the old Ames is Classic Rock ninety
two one. Hey, we welcomeyou back in here once again to Carson

(01:02:22):
Park. It's halftime. Peteknutson andNoah Shorts with you here on Classic Rock
ninety two one. Damn Price backin studio with the few minutes before we
get the second half underway. Itis the Tigers of New Richmond fifteen Oh
Claire Memorial seven. Here at halftime, we'll go through some stas kind of
recap what happened in that first halfas well, but a few scores from
around the area and we'll just gothrough the big Rivers conference scorers. Ann

(01:02:44):
Remember O Claire Regis is in actiontomorrow at eleven o'clock Right back here at
Carson Park, they're taking on Duranand what should be a big Clover Belt
match up there. Of course, regis now two and one on the season
after a tough loss in their firstgame of the season against Prescott, so
that one should certainly be a goodone as well. At halftime, Hudson
and River Falls tied at twenty Agood matchup there over in river Falls at

(01:03:08):
Raymer Field. Between those two.Monominee is up twenty to seven on Chipwa
Falls up in Chipwa at Deray Fieldwith the twenty to seven lead at halftime,
and all the way up in Superior. How about this Oaklare North leading
twenty to nothing at halftime over theSpartans and so North, and tell you
what, they got a good chanceto get to three and one. They're

(01:03:30):
gonna be the surprise, the talkof the town, all those kind of
things. A Memorial would like tokeep pace with them the win tonight,
but noah, just real quickly,I mean, this Memorial team goes down,
gets up seven to nothing, twoquick scores to make it fourteen to
seven here at halftime, or primaryfifteen to seven for New Richmond here at
halftime, Memorial is not going toget the ball to start things off.
What do they gotta do to getsome momentum back and try to get back

(01:03:51):
again. I know they're in thegame, I say, back into this
game, but try to get backat least a touchdown and get this thing
closer. Well, there's no doubtthat this is going to be an uphill
battle, pet I mean, youlook at the records and what they are.
You look at the score, youlook at the circumstances. Things are
not really leaning towards something good forthe Old Dames. But they're certainly not
out of it. They've played reallywell tonight. They've played their game and

(01:04:14):
they just have to wait for They'vegot to wait for the opportunities, wait
for the bounces. That's really allthey've got to do. Yeah. Again,
it felt like New Richmond was reallystarting to kind of figure things out
on the offensive side of the ball. But what we saw, you know,
it's an interesting strategy for the headcoach, Reggie Larson, that idea
where he goes back from Reese Hittyto Nick Stelrick back and forth as his
quarterbacks. Right, Basically, they'retrading off drives two very different kind of

(01:04:39):
quarterbacks. It tended to. Imean it worked near the end, but
it was a little rough in theearly going for this Tigers team. So
we'll see if it takes them alittle bit to settle back in or if
they'll get right back to a regularform. Here is Moorial gets set to
kick it off here at the startof the third quarter, fifteen to seven
New Richmond with the lead. Asthey'll get the ball right to left,
going Memorial left to right, goNew Richmond here in quarter number three,

(01:05:01):
kickoff will come here we go forthe second half on the nearest sideline here.
That will take a bounce and stayin play and it'll have to be
returned by Panic. And Panic iswrapped up and a flag came in lay,
and I wonder if this might bean legal tackle of some kind out
about the twenty three yard line.A good stop, but I wonder if
they might add on to this. Now it's a block in the back,
it looks like here on New Richmond. So they'll back him up a little

(01:05:24):
ways and they've got a long fieldin front of them, absolutely, and
that hasn't stopped him before. Butas I mentioned, Memorial needs the bounces
to go their way. That wasa bounce on the first play of the
half that went their way. Theyneed to keep it up here now talking
about this quarterback situation, of course, New Richmond has stral Rick and Hiddi
here this one. It kind ofreminds you of Roger Stauback and Craig Morton

(01:05:47):
that quarterback controversy. They said, that's where we get the saying, if
you have two quarterbacks, you haveno quarterbacks. But New Richmond they have
two good quarterbacks. Yeah, yeah, they do. And I mean,
you know, I like, Imean Hitt he's kind of a you know
more maybe prototypical high school quarterback.Right. He can run, he can
throw, maybe a little bit moreof a guy who can run the redpath,

(01:06:09):
run pass options. Sell right kindof has a little more of a
college quarterback look to him. He'sbig, he's tall, very patient back
in the pocket as well. Butnonetheless they're gonna start off with Reese Hitty.
That ball moved all the way backto the eleven yard line after the
penalty, and the Richmond gets backunderway here in the second half. Not
a great snap. The handoff goesup the middle and not a lot of
running room here, two maybe threeyards for Miles Burke, who had the

(01:06:33):
touchdown right at the end of thehalf. He gets about now, I'll
call it two to about the fourteenyard line, second and eight. It's
only been two plays, and Ireally don't want to jinx anything, but
I really wondered what was said inthe memorial locker room. This defense has
come out with some fire in theirgut. Yeah, come up, jazz
a little bit. The sideline movingaround the student section certainly pumped up here

(01:06:56):
as well. A sentiment emotion herewill New Richmond's second and seven from their
own fourteen yard line. They giveis to Burke. He's got a huge
hole fourteen and now across the twentyand up near the twenty two yard line,
he's got the first down. Thatis a gain of eight on the
play. And once again he sawit was tackled on the play by Atumn
and once again Higden there as well. But a first down up to the

(01:07:17):
twenty two yard line, So goodrun there for Burke. Hitty in the
shotgun will send Burke to his right, three receivers to the left, one
of the right, ball in themiddle hash Mark from the twenty two.
They'll give it. I know he'llkeep it himself. Hit. He trying
to roll out right, he isgonna stiff arm. A defender gets across
the thirty and now across the thirtyfive before he is pushed out of bounds

(01:07:40):
by Memorials County Lyons. That's afirst down up to the thirty seven yard
line. Thirteen yard game and Peteis Hitty started that run. He had
one man to beat. He putout the stiff arm and he beat him.
That's why he was able to getall those yards and move the sticks
here for New Richmond. Yeah, they had him contained, but it was
a great stiff arm, like yousaid from hitting. Now, he'll send

(01:08:01):
Burke to his left here on thenear hash mark. One receiver to the
right and three out to the left. Gives it to Burke and he just
carries two defenders with him across theforty yard line up to the forty four
yard line and unable to take himdown once again. There was Lions with
a couple other old abes, andthat's power of football. There's a lot
to be said for throwing the footballfor both teams to night. We've seen

(01:08:24):
some tough, hard nose running andPete that's football to me. Yeah,
the old what three four yards ina cloud of dust and that's kind of
what it was. We don't getthat on the turf. I suppose anymore.
A second and three here their ownforty four yard line, hitting the
shotgun again, same formation. Hewill give it to Burke this triuten and
bounced out to the left. Hegot contained for a moment, then made

(01:08:44):
a cut at the forty five. He's across the fifty into Memorial territory up
to the Abes forty seven yard line. A gain of ells about a ten
on the play. That's enough fora first down and New Richmond moving the
ball. Well, we want tocut there. On that run behind the
line, he had one man tobeat again it's been a theme on this
drive, and he almost stopped ona dime change direction, cutting back to

(01:09:08):
the inside toward us and getting aheadfor the first down. Fifteen to seven.
New Richmond with the lead. Theyhave the ball here, first drive
of the second half, first andten from the ABS forty seven keeper for
Hitty. He bounces right after goingleft. He so the forty to the
thirty five, stiff arms another defenderto the thirty and he's hit out of
bounds by Julius Clark, but notbefore he gets past the thirty yard line.

(01:09:29):
Up near the twenty nine yard lines, an eighteen yard gain and boy
could he run absolutely. New Richmondhas had a lot of different guys running
the football, all of the greatball carrier vision. They're able to reverse
the field work the way the fieldworks to get the looks that they want
to get the yardage that they wanton these plays, one receiver right,
two to the left again, ballto the twenty nine yard line of the

(01:09:51):
old abe. They'll hand it offthe backup running back Epner. Looked like
there might have been a hold aroundthe edge and call it now a horse
collar tackle up at the twenty yardline. No flag out the pocket,
however, and that'll be a gainof nine. Bringing up second and short.
Looked real close. I wonder ifNew Richmond's gonna take a shot on
this play. It's been mostly throughthe ground on this drive. But second

(01:10:12):
and one, I think you throwit to the end zone if I'm calling
the play. Yeah, we haven'tseen Hitty throw the ball a ton.
It's been more stell wreck when he'sbeen in the game at quarterback. But
we'll see if he goes that route. Two receivers right, one left,
it's got Hepner to his right. He'll give it to him on the handoff
instead. He's got the first downacross the twenty up to the fifth man
a sixteen yard line is where they'llmark him down and once against Schumas and

(01:10:33):
Higden there as well on the tackle. But that is another first down here
for the Tigers. And that's thereverse of that thinking second and one you
take a shot, maybe because you'vestill got the other down, but you
think, hey, it's only oneyard, you save a play, and
you just go for it right there. That's what New Richmond didn't. They
got it. Two receivers right, one left, far hash left to right.

(01:10:54):
They go eight fifty three left herein the third New Richmond fifteen Memorial
seven, first and ten from theMemorial sixteen yard line, they will give
it to Heppner. He's got goodspace to the fifteen to the ten,
goes through a whole, dances outto the edge and he is in for
the score. Want a run fromJoe Heppner. He's got a sixteen yard
touchdown run, and the Tigers havea two touchdown lead. Yeah, and
this new Richmond team, they've justgot an uncanny ability to find green grass

(01:11:19):
or green turf. I guess youmight call it tonight. You're open space
to get up field, get goodchunksy yardage. I think that's why they've
got a two score lead as itstands right now. Yeah, it's starting
to kind of exert their will onthe offensive side of the ball. They
will once again go with that swinginggate formation, and now they'll line up
for the regular extra point. Twentyone to seven here Tigers lead, extra

(01:11:41):
point pending eight forty one left inthe third quarter, sixteen yard touchdown run
for Heppner. It goes with aBurke two yard touchdown run and a Hitty
one yard touchdown run, all onthe ground. Tonight, the extra point
up in good, twenty two toseven Tigers lead. We'll be back right
after this Classic Rock. This isoh Clear high school football on Classic Rock

(01:12:02):
ninety two one. I was downon my luck. My car was a
piece of luck. Only I foundHoto King. Otto King showed me that
they truly cared. I went downto Bird Street in a Claire I got

(01:12:24):
a great deal on the loo stuffnumber Yeah HOUTO King is the only way
to go. Your home for theOld Apes is Classic Rock ninety two one.
Indeed it is. We're happy tohave you back here on Classic Rock
ninety two one, twenty two toseven Tigers with the lead on the Old

(01:12:45):
Apes, p Canutes and Noah Schwartzmothyou hey remember tonight from nine thirty two
eleven o'clock on our friends over atw m e Q Newstalk w m Q
A M eight eighty and one ohsix point three FM, you can listen
to football Friday Night, the livestatewide game show, get your scorers and
updates from all around the stay ofWisconsin. The Chuck Freeman and Friends down
in Milwaukee bringing that show from ninethirty to eleven o'clock. Well ever,

(01:13:09):
recap from this game on there andmuch much more from around the area.
All right, kickoff taken by Weigelat about the ten yard line, dancing
up to the twenty five and thenhe is absolutely crushed backwards. WHOA that
was a big hit put on himby Trevor slom there in the special team's
unity and they'll be the twenty eightyard line where Memorial, I mean kind
of feels and there's eight thirty sixleft and the third is still a lot

(01:13:30):
of time left, Noah, butit feels like Memorial's gotta get something on
this drive to get back into thegame. Absolutely, I mean, anything
could happen, But if you're aMemorial or a Memorial fan, you're looking
for this drive right here because thatputs you in the best position and then
you don't have to worry about somethinggoing your way to get back into it.
You're already back into it. Longdrives for New Richmond tonight they had

(01:13:53):
one of their touchdown drives was inMemorial territory, but a seventy nine yard
and an eighty nine yard touchdown drivefor them here tonight. As Memorial goes
in the shotgun here with Riley Holmberg, sends a man in motion that's Julius
Clark right to left across the formation. One receiver now to the right,
two to the left, fakes ahandoff whistle coming, and I believe we
might have a false start here byone of the receivers on the near side

(01:14:14):
for a Memorial. And so it'llbe first and fifteen and you just can't
have those right now when you're chasingtwo touchdowns that the Tigers have a lead
on you by an inauspicious start tothe drive, that's for sure. If
we want to pull out the thesaurus, you're just pulling out that UW Clara
education. Hey best in the UWSisteria go all right, and so we

(01:14:35):
e like a good a good adfor sure. All right. The shotgun
here goes Riley Holmberg, first andfifteen, two receivers left, one of
the right high snap gives it toSimmons. Simmons counters right to left across
the twenty five, dragged down upnear the twenty seven yard line, almost
gets back to the original line ofscrimmage as he is once again tackled by

(01:14:56):
Kyle Germaine, who's been all overthe field tonight. He had the interception
earlier tonight. Four New Richmonds. It'll be second and eleven, still behind
schedule, but thanks to that penaltygetting four yards there. I think Memorial
likes where they are on offense. In this drive. It'll be two receivers
right, one left near hash rightto left. They go Holmberg in the
shotgun again with Simmons off to hisright. Wait's a snap. They bring

(01:15:19):
the blitz, he steps up,gets away from it, rolls out to
his right, throws out field toClark. It's too far, a little
bit too far down that far sideline. The coverage was not terribly tight from
r. J Ammonson, but itwas enough. And again just an overthrow.
He's on the run. I thinkhe felt the pressure that might have
forced a bad throw. Yeah,Holmberg, he was able to step up
in the pocket. He was movinghis feet. Took a shot right towards

(01:15:43):
that release. I think that causedthat ball to sail a little bit on
him towards that far sideline. Buthe's got another chance here. Third and
ten, Yeah, third and ten, just outside that marker. Again,
they got backed up on that falsestart that started the drive. So from
their own twenty eight yard line, the Old Apes have two receivers to the
right, one to the left, down by two touchdowns here twenty two to
seven, with seven fifty three leftin the third quarter, Holmberg sends a

(01:16:06):
man in motion down one receiver right, two to the left, and now
he'll send Simmons out to the left. He looks to pass to the left
side. He'll throw catch maybe, but a knee went down to go and
get the catch from Jacob Wigle. He'll only get about three maybe four yards
to the thirty two and that's theold college in high school rule at knee
down. He's down right away, and that'll bring up a punning situation for

(01:16:27):
the Apes. Yeah, if I'mhonest, I don't really get that play
call. Maybe nothing was open downfield, but when you need ten yards,
I really don't see the point throwingfor three, especially against that defensive
look for New Richmond. Yeah, maybe trying to let Waggle do something with
his feet at the throw just toolow and obviously had to go down to
a knee to make the catch andhe was down right there. So here

(01:16:47):
comes the punt, and that isa beautiful spiraling punt that's going to send
the returner back. Oh and itgoes over his head, takes a New
Richmond bounce though had a little badI don't know bad backsman just took a
bad bounce down to the twenty threeyard line. That's a beautiful punt though
by the old Abes. And ifnothing else switches the field there, Vincent
Mullin doing a nice job getting thatone. Down field. Absolutely special people

(01:17:09):
make special plays on special teams.Want a punt there on that one?
I like that same, that's good. I has good stuff. I don't.
I feel like it's Bill Parcels.I don't know where I got it
from. I'm just a sponge.Well you're I say, you steal it.
I think that's pretty solid. Seventwenty left to go here in the
third quarter twenty two to seven.Tigers lead the Old Abes as it will

(01:17:30):
be once again the Tigers in shotgunformation. And here we go back to
the other quarterback, Nick Stralick. We'll hand this one off to Heppner,
and he has taken down in thebackfield. Part me not Heppner rather,
but the handoff given there to panicand he has taken down right at the
line of skimmage at the twenty twoand the Old Abs they need to stop,
they need something. Maybe the defensecan give him that spark that was
Luke Johnson, and on that stophe was able to break through the line

(01:17:53):
right away and get into the backfieldand reek some havoc for the Old Abes.
Defensively, receivers left one right herefor Strelick or Stelrict rather sophomore six
ft four hundred and ninety nine poundshad a touchdown pass and the interception coming
into the game, and he'll handit off again to Panic. He's trying
to bounce it out to the leftto the twenty five. Now he goes
out to the edge at the twentyfive, hits a defender, a little

(01:18:15):
panic there with the speed and thenthe little aggression at the end of that
run, gets up to the thirtyone yard line, nine yard game,
it'll be third and one. It'san impressive run. Panic's pretty quick out
there. Absolutely, there are guyswho can run with speed. There are
guys who can run with power. Here's a no huddle. Yeah, they're
gonna try to get up to theline quickly. And there's the quarterback sneak
the push up the line. Whoit's close. Initially I thought he got

(01:18:36):
it boy. The near line judgesgiving him a really good spot. The
headline judge who's on the far sideis initially kind of had him marked a
little bit further back. But they'regonna give him the thirty three a two
yard game in the first down. And no matter what level you see that
at, whether it's here in theNFL. Whenever there's just one of those

(01:18:57):
big pile plays and it turns intorugby. It's always really hard for me
to tell what's going on. Butthe ref's got a better view of it
than I do. Yeah, Inever know where that ball is exactly.
Panic trying to dance out of sometackles, and boy trips up over a
defender at the forty yard line. And if not for that, again,
really no tackle on the play,if you will. But he gets about
seven yards. But if not forthat, he was gone to the races.

(01:19:18):
Oh yeah, off to the racesfor sure. He had the whole
middle of the field wide open, just stumbled. Yeah, that might have
been ball game right there, ifnot for that trip. Forty left to
play. Third quarter in Richmond twentytwo, Oh Claire memorials seven, you're
in big rivers conference action. SendPanic to his left and off side for

(01:19:38):
a memorial And that's an automatic firstdown because second and three they'll move it
up to the forty five and convertthere. And well, it's just a
little things that New Richmond does, right. It's the hurry up in that
situation, getting up to the line, getting them to jump offside. They
do all those little things that yousee good college teams, good NFL teams
do, and they're taking advantage ofthose right now. And that's why they
do it. They don't do itjust for fun, but they know that

(01:20:00):
they can get somebody who's really readyto jump, or they can get something
else to go their way. It'sthe mark of a really good ball club.
Pete one receiver, left two rightballfar hash once again for Stellarric.
He will give it, no,I'll keep it himself. And he's got
a huge hold of the fifty theread pass option or the run pass option
doing really well there as he's upacross the forty five of Memorial to the

(01:20:21):
forty four. Now of the fortythree, they're going to market too,
and a big first down. IfI'm Memorial, I think I'm thinking about
changing the formation, maybe because NewRichmond's having so much ease running through it.
Maybe you put more guys in thebox, Maybe you give maybe more
of a nickel look. I don'tknow what you do, but you do
something. I think I'll the RPO. I mean, he's all those handoffs

(01:20:44):
to Panic, what three in arow, and then Stellarric keeps it and
he had massive space to run.Everybody bit on the fake. This time
it's a handoff to Burke, who'llget around the left edge of the forty,
gets out of a tackle at thethirty dance and tiptoe in the sideline
across the twenty five. We'll seewhere they mark him at. He was
close to the twenty five and they'llget him to the twenty four yard line.
That's a nineteen yard game in thefirst down to the far sideline.

(01:21:05):
Well, Memorial must have been listeningto me there. They put more guys
in the box, but New Richmondadjusting, they just ran to to the
outside where there was more space.Football is a game of mismatches, Pete.
Yeah, they have taken advantage ofthose. Twenty two to seven.
Here Tigers lead at four thirty sevenleft to play. In this third quarter,
they are moving the ball well atthe Memorial twenty four and there's a

(01:21:27):
handoff to Burke up the middle, hit at the twenty yard line and taking
down at the eighteen. But that'sa six yard game on the play as
Jason Shay, the six foot seniordefensive lineman, took him down and out.
Before a big game still working quickly. Here are the Tigers here this
one. They're up by two scoresand now they're in the red zone.

(01:21:49):
Memorials defense has been on the fieldfor the majority of this third quarter.
You feel like they might be suckingwinning a little bit. I'm sure that
they're kind of ready to pounce. Here are the Tigers, if you will,
second and four, we go underfour minutes left to go third quarter.
Selrec will give it on the handoffto Burke. Cuts at the fifteen
to the ten, to the five, still on his feet, and he'll

(01:22:10):
lunge forward up near the two.Boy just got tripped up at the five
and couldn't quite stay on his feetall the way to the goal line.
But another great run about seventeen yards. It's first and goal. It's just
one after another, and you sithere and you're think, how many more
times can New Richmond do this? They're just that good at running the football.
Yeah, this looks like a realdeal team. Now. Stell Wreck

(01:22:30):
will go from the shotgun run upunder center. He'll try to sneak at
nothing there, bounces out to theedge, stiff arms a defender. Oh
I got taken down at the fouryard line. However, he would not
be denied there with Grant locking onthat stiff arm, and he was not
fooled on the little bounce out onthat quarterback keeper. That's sure it was
designed that way. No, Ithink there was just no space up the
middle. Yeah, you're right,Pete, no space there. I like

(01:22:51):
the idea to try and bounce itout there to maybe get something, But
if you move backwards a little bit, I don't know if it's worth it.
I think you might want to stayconservative and just take getting back to
the line there. Yeah, theold east to west running not necessarily positive
in that situation. They're gonna stacktwo receivers left, stack two right,

(01:23:12):
kind of tight formation here. They'llsend a man in motion. It's a
give on the end around and heis wrapped up right at the line of
scrimmage Aiden Eckert out of the receiverspot. The slot receiver on the right
got the handoff on the end around. There was nothing doing. We've seen
this a number of times Memorials defensegetting really good as the field gets shorter
in the red zone. Gotta wonderwhy that is, whether they've just kind

(01:23:35):
of get back ready, whether theybring a different look in the goal line,
or whether New Richmond just runs outof space because Schumas was in on
the tackle. Julius Clark limped offthe field there for Memorial, so he's
out of the game on the defensiveside. To twenty left to play.
Third quarter, Tigers twenty two Memorialseven. Another end around handoff left right.
Now it's a pass instead, it'sbattered away in the end zone and

(01:23:57):
incomplete. They handed it off toLangness and then he went with that almost
that same similar play we saw themconvert the two point conversion on and great
defense in the end zone from BryceHead get about that one away. Yeah,
I like I like the idea fromNew Richmond there, but I think
they're just getting a little bit toocute. It's only a two score game,
and in high school football anything canhappen. I don't think that that's

(01:24:20):
one that you pull out of yourtool your playbook just yet. Field goal
attempt. The kicks certainly long enoughand it is good for New Richmond.
The kick put through by Bjorn Bonhamanand it's now twenty five to seven.
Tigers League two fourteen left to gothrough Quarner. We'll be back right after
this here on Classic Rocket. Twoone is clear high school football on Classic

a twenty one yard field goal knockedin by Bonhaman to make it twenty five

(01:25:32):
to seven. Now New Richmond leadson Oh Claire Memorial. So Memorial holds
the Tigers are just a field goalthere. That's a little bit of a
mini win. We'll see if theycan now come away with some points on
this offensive drive. Wiggle it aboutthe ten yard line, Gotta lane up
the middle, and it close quicklyoff across the twenty five up to about
the thirty yard line, and thatis where Memorial. We'll start off the
drive here at two o nine andleft to go on the third quarter,

(01:25:55):
down twenty five to seven. Twentyfive to seven. That's a little bit
of score of gami here, thisone, thanks to that two point conversion,
making it a little bit hard forme to do the math is.
I'm a communications major, journalism major, journalism major, right, I don't
even know what my major is.Eighteen points it is going to be three

(01:26:15):
scores for sure, right, Imean you need some extra point or some
two point conversions and a field goalin there. But I imagine that memorial.
I mean, this is again they'rerunning out of drives at this point.
That's true. I wouldn't say it'sout of reach quite yet. Yeah,
they need scores on pretty much everythingthey've got left. It'll be Simmons
on a counterplay up the middle. He'll get a couple up to the thirty

(01:26:35):
two yard line. I think markhim at the thirty one where he went
down. Not a lot of spaceas we took under two minutes left to
play here in the third quarter onsecond and long. Well, you said
they need scores on pretty much everythingthat they've got left, and with what
the score is, maybe you're athome you're thinking maybe not. But this

(01:26:56):
Memorial offense has looked pretty good.I think that it's certainly not not outside
the realm of possibility. Get it'sjust some score updates here in a second
as well. Two receivers to left, two to the right, back to
pass. It's Paul deflected and incompleteand went right through the hands of the
man who got the interception earlier.Kyle Jermaine is a bat. He's a
pound in his helmet there. Hethought that that was a pick six,

(01:27:18):
and it certainly could have been ifhe had made that catch. Certainly could
have been. Jermaine was kind ofhiding a little bit. I didn't see
him. Looked like neither did Holmberg. He came out, jumped that route
right in front of it, justoff of his fingertips. Quick update from
River Falls Wildcats trailing twenty seven totwenty to Hudson right now, about five

(01:27:41):
and a half minutes left to goin the third quarter. From that one,
River Falls back near their own endzone right now on a third and
long and now we got a whistlehere and looks like a false start coming
up on third and eight. Soit's gonna push Memorial back to a third
and thirteen Manominee leading twenty to sevenand Chippo with eight forty three left to
go the third quarter there and theNominee with the ball near the fifty yard

(01:28:03):
line. So again Whenomini looking likethey're in good shape, a tight one
between Hudson and River falls at lastcheck Old Clare North up twenty to nothing
on Superior at halftime. Two receiversright, two left here for Memorial one
thirty one left to go third quarter, third and thirteen from their own twenty
six yard line. Stepping up hereis Holmberg over the middle. He's got

(01:28:24):
a man wide open that ball he'scaught at the forty yard line and across
the thirty five down here the thirtythree yard line and the Abs are in
business. Bryce head Key with amassive catch and its first down old As
head Key was double covered, sohe shaded himself a little bit towards the
middle of the field. It waskind of a fade route. He ran
toward the middle of the hash.Mark Scott just maybe a step of separation,

(01:28:45):
was able to haul that one in. This could be a good drive
here for Memorial forty one yard passthere from Holmberg on the way to head
keep and now the old Ames arecertainly in business. Two receivers left to
right, ball in the middle ofthe hash marks handoff up the middle,
it goes to Simmons. Had italmost stripped away from him. He's still
had his feet through the thirty Ohmy goodness, up to the twenty five.

(01:29:08):
He went through about four different NewRichmond defenders who were trying to rip
the ball away. They forgot totackle him, and he almost gets the
first down nine yard game. Absolutely, it doesn't count if you don't bring
him down. It doesn't matter howhard you hit him. And Simmons he
doesn't care how hard you hit him. He's just gonna keep the legs moving
and keep gating yard. If youmentioned the squats and all those kind of

(01:29:30):
things earlier, that was all biceptcontrol and up the upper body to hold
onto that ball is it was tryingto be stripped away. Three receivers right,
one left, thirty three seconds leftin the third quarter, Memorial down
twenty five to seven. Simmons hasto bounce out of a tackle. Their
moves right still on his feet, still trying to fight for it. It
was a lot of effort to getback to the line of scrimmage. Maybe
lost a yard or half a yard, but could have been much worse as

(01:29:53):
he had to get away from sometackles. Is a new Richmond and blown
up that place and we'll see wherethey spot that one. But what an
effort just to get back to theline here to keep this one third and
short push on a yard back tothe twenty six, needs a twenty four
for a first down, and thatplay will likely have to come at the
start of the fourth quarter because weshow Zeros on the clock. The third

(01:30:14):
quarter is done twenty five to seven. Tigers with the lead Memorial trying to
fight back. They need a touchdown. They need it really bad here when
we start off the fourth quarter. Why that for year right after this you're

Now started the fourth quarter with atwenty five seven lead for New Richmond
over Oakland Memorial. Peekadutz and NoahShorts with me Dan Price back in studio
and a Memorial with a big fortyone yard pass from Holmberg on the way

(01:31:27):
to Bryce head Key have them intouching distance. But they need to score,
and they need to score quickly andpretty often here in the fourth quarter
to make a comeback. Certainly notout of the realm of possibility. Here's
the handoff on a counter from Simmons. Twenty five bounces out to the twenty
fights, throw some tackles across thefifteen who about the thirteen yard line before
he is finally taken down by AaronGunlet or partner me not Aaron gun Lack

(01:31:50):
rather but Bjorn Bonhaman. But notafter a big gain in the first down
to the fourteen and water runner Simmonsis. He's just got a way to
keep those lays moving. And ifyou keep the legs moving, it's hard
for them to stop you. Tworeceivers go left, a couple of tight
ends. One are probably two stackedup right. Simmons off set left of

(01:32:12):
Homeburg and he will get the countercannedoff once again and he'll fall up to
about to ten yard line. Theyliked that counterplay out of the inside handoff
out of the shotgun, and it'sworked out pretty well from them. Simmons
has easily been the offensive highlight tonight, the biggest spot for this memorial team.
Yeah, he has been a realcontributor here for the old Dabs.
He has carried this offense. Isaid earlier he was driving the bush,

(01:32:38):
captaining the ship, whatever you wantto call it. He's done it.
Two receivers go left again, twotight ends right. They go back to
pass here Homeburg, back corner ofthe end zone. It is up and
bat it away. Good defense atthe last moment they wanted to flag there,
Tod Clark, I believe who wasin the back corner of the end
zone not going to get it andthe man we've called most of the night
defensively in the defensive backspot, R. J Ammonson was the one who broke

(01:32:59):
it away. Yeah, good defenseand maybe just a hair too much air
under that ball, giving the defenderenough time to swat that one away.
Now, third and six from theten eleven O five left to go here
in the contest twenty five to seven, New Richmond leads Memorial. Third and
six from the ten yard line ofNew Richmond. When you get to the

(01:33:20):
four for a first down, hereHolmberg in the shotgun, two receivers to
the right on the near side, fake the handoff, look for the slant
route. That ball is bad atand incomplete. I think they wanted some
contact there on tay Ferguson and wentdown. But again, that slant route,
well, it works sometimes when itgets tight on the field like that,
Noah, you get into some laneswhere the ball starts getting batted around,

(01:33:40):
and interceptions tend to come from thoseas well. And we mentioned it
last drive. But every the closerthat you get to the end zone,
the more compressed the field gets andthe spacing gets more compressed, you'll lose
that ability to get separation. Atsome point, Memorial needs a field goal,
so they're gonna try to get ityear and coming out to attempt the

(01:34:01):
kick here for Memorial is Vincent mullaninand he will be kicking about let's see,
we'll call this about a twenty sevenyard attempt ball closer to the near
hash, and I was almost afalse start from the kicker there. The
kick is up and it is whythat one missed wide left, and so
Memorial comes away with nothing out ofthis drive with ten fifty six remaining in

(01:34:24):
the fourth quarter. Tough call. It's fourth and sixth. You'd like to
get all all six points, allseven points if you can know him.
But at the same time, theydidn't know they were going to need a
field goal at some time at somepoint being down three scores. Absolutely,
I'm of the opinion that you takewhat you can get there. I think
that was the plan fall and thewind just had other ideas. Yeah,

(01:34:45):
and again I think it was thatthat extra little movement. We saw it
again. They didn't call a falsestart. Maybe a Memorial would have liked
it if they had. Mulan youknow, it looked like he kind of
moved before and it looked like histiming was just kind of thrown off on
that initial when he thought the snapwas coming back. But nonetheless, we'll
turn it over here to New Richmondwith ten fifty six remaining, and once
again this is Reese Heidi into thegame. He'll hand it off to Burke

(01:35:09):
Burns, bouncing it out on thetwenty five to the thirty down the near
sideline, and he's taken down nearthe forty yard line. It's almost a
twenty yard gain on the play.It was finally tackled there on the play
and Andrew Simpson as Simpson getting thestop there, but until that the runner
was not touched. A whole lotof space here for New Richmond to run

(01:35:29):
the football, and they've been doingso all night long at a nineteen yard
gain up to the thirty nine yardline. And now New Richmond, I
think it's gonna do plenty to tryto keep this one on the ground and
burn some clock. Clock stopped though, because he got out of bound.
So ten forty eight remaining, Tigerstwenty five Memorials seven fake the end around.
Hitty will keep it up the middleeast to the forty forty one and
he's ripped backwards up top there. That was Tate Ferguson at the tackle.

(01:35:51):
At the bottom. It was Johnson, gain of two on the play,
second and eight Manominee leading twenty toseven right now in Chippewa with five oh
six remaining in the third quarter thereand Hudson now leading at thirty four to
twenty over River Falls with a minutetwenty eight left in the third quarter of
that game. And we'll try toget you an updated as best we can.

(01:36:14):
It sounds like the video stream isdown from up in Superior between North
and the Spartans, but North waswinning twenty to nothing at halftime when we
last check. Two receivers right, one left here for Reese City under ten.
We go on the clock. It'sa handoff right side to Burke.
He's got a lot of space andhe's taken down quickly and again that's Johnson.
But Johnson a little friendly fire therefrom his linebacker Nolan Odumn. He's

(01:36:39):
a little late getting up, butit's an again a nice job by Johnson
the clothes in to make that tackleafter about a four or five yard game.
They've been doing a good job ofusing up a lot of time now
they've got four yards to go tokeep this one going out. Third down.
Well, Claire North is still uptwenty to nothing at the start of
the fourth quarter. Now we're told, so North in good shape there up

(01:37:00):
north at the border of Minnesota andWisconsin. There's a run on the right
side. There's will be enough forthe first down on across the fifty and
up near the forty five yard line, Joe Heppner on the kerry and it
will be a first down here forNew Richmond. And a quick word about
that. You and I know howlong that bus ride is up to Superior.
To be able to come off thebus as a team and play that,
well, that's really something you gottahand it to those guys. Of

(01:37:24):
course, So Claire North was wetalked about. They've had so many losing
seasons over the last decades basically,so again, for them to get a
win up in Superior and come backthree and one on the season gonna be
a big mark for them if theycan finish that one out. New Richmond
trying to finish this one out uptwenty twenty five to seven, rather nine
minutes left to play handoff right side, nothing doing in fact, a loss

(01:37:45):
of one there for Hefner tackled byfergus Or parton me. Yeah, Tay
Ferguson and a couple others there onthe play. Schoomas there two second and
eleven. That was just one ofthose plays. If you're in offense,
sometimes you run right to a brickwall. That's what happened about three Purple
Jerseys right as the runner got thefootball and they went backwards. So once

(01:38:09):
again, second and eleven from theMemorial forty six yard line will be a
keeper. Hittie will throw it outof the backfield's intercepted in a chance to
take it all the way back. This is Autumn, oh autumn A voids
a defender at the forty five thathe's taken down from behind, across the
forty and up near the thirty sevenyard line. There is a flag I
believe on the return here. Idon't think this was before the interception.

(01:38:29):
Memorial should keep the ball. Butnonetheless the interception comes in Memorial a little
bit of life here. With eighttwenty one left to play, this ball
game is not over. Memorial hasdone a good job keeping their heads in
it. They're still playing, andyou really got to hand it to him
for that. If they get acouple more opportunities. It's an ineligible man

(01:38:50):
down field on the offense. Soit is a good return here because they
will decline that penalty. And soup to the thirty. Let's see where
they end up marketing thirty six yardline, I think, and that is
where Memorial will take over. They'vekept there, as I was saying,
Pete, they've kept their heads up, they've waited for their opportunity. Well
here it is. It's crunch timefor them. Let's see if they can

(01:39:12):
pull it on. So Memorial withit back now after the interception, came
from autumn and now in good shapehere for the Apes. Eight twenty one
left, twenty five to seven.Tigers lead, still a three score lead,
but the Apes can score quickly. It makes it much more interesting again.

(01:39:33):
Remember Oaklare Memorial came back from atwo score deficit with just under three
minutes left to play at Lacrosse Loganand week number one. They'll swing it
out to Simmons on a pass. He's got a lot of space of the
thirty up across the twenty five,a little extra hit out of bounds,
no flag coming in, but it'llget up to almost the twenty yard line.
I'll mark him at the twenty one. We'll call that a sixteen yard

(01:39:53):
game. In the first down,Holdberg on that drop back he went into.
I think it was a seventh stepdrop, a little bit more of
an old school look. Able toswing that one out to his running back
Simmons and get the first down andplenty more so off we go. Now
as Memorial moves the ball well upto the twenty one yard line. First
and ten, Holmburg back to pass. Baul batted at the line and incomplete

(01:40:15):
and New Richmond able to get thatball, but alignment getting their hands on
the ball, they're deflecting it away. Second and ten clock stops eight o
nine left to play. Looked likeHolmberg had an open look at his receiver,
just couldn't get enough air under it, and that one gets tipped and
flutters harmlessly to the turf. SoI'll go second and ten from their own

(01:40:36):
or from the New Richmond twenty oneyard line. Is rather twenty five to
seven. New Richmond leads Oak ClaireMemorial hire big rivers action. As you
mentioned, Oak Claire North with thelead twenty to nothing on Superior. We
do have a little bit of thevideo stream, no graphics for that,
so we'll try to keep you upto date. Homeberg gonna try to pass
this one up to the end zone. It is bad at That was almost

(01:40:56):
a defensive play by the offensive man. Bryce Headkee just kind of threw an
op to make sure that ball didn'tget intercepted. Kind of came out a
little awkwardly. I'm not sure ifanybody got a hand on that or there
was some pressure, but not agreat pass. It's third and ten,
a little bit of pressure in Holmberg'sface. I think he got that one
off sooner than he maybe planned to. That's why the ball was not as
close to his receiver as he wouldhave liked. It's one of those things,

(01:41:19):
you know. Memorial has shown flashesin every game that they can be
a good team, just haven't beenable to put together a whole game,
like coach Scott talked about in ourpregame interview. And still happening here.
Eight oh five left. They bringthe blitz. They throw it over the
mill again, bat it up inthe air. That ball is intercepted,
intercepted at the twenty yard line.Another Lineman getting a hand on it.
We'll see who got the final interception, and sure enough, it's the man

(01:41:41):
we've called all night, Kyle Germaine. He gets a second interception of the
game, and just like that,New Richmond has it back with seven to
fifty eight left to play. Areyou gotta feel for Homeburg on that one?
But at the same time, he'sgot to put a little bit more
air under that football. If youthrow it to the top of the line,
bad things are gonna happen. Happenedtwice on that series. That one
had enough air under it on thebounce for somebody to come down with it.

(01:42:05):
Jermaine came down with it at hisown twenty yard line. That is
where New Richmond starts out, andwell, he found a little bit of
life for Memorial, but that lifeis snuffed out within a minute. Quickly.
They're on that third and ten interceptionfrom Jermaine, his second of a
game, and once again we'll seea handoff here. This is gonna given
up the middle to Burke and he'sgot a few yards across the twenty.

(01:42:27):
We'll call it the twenty two, maybe the twenty three. Here on first
down about seven minutes and seven andthree quarters of a minute here left to
play. Not sure if New Richmondcan hold the ball for all of it
even though they want to, butthey can certainly take a big chunk of
the clock off here on this dryold Abs have all three time outs.

(01:42:48):
But again, this is a threescore game basically, so they need something
to go right. They need aninterception, pick six, that kind of
thing, a scoop and score atthis point to kind of get back into
this one again in the show gunformation. And we'll see that second quarterback
we've seen handoff we'll go and andtripping over his own feet, the old
turf monster there jumping up and gettingethan panic before he gets here about we'll

(01:43:12):
call it maybe seven eight yards areup to the twenty nine yard line,
brings up third and one, Thirdand one here, short yard and situation.
I'm predicting an inside handoff for NewRichmond. Stell wrek back into the
game at quarterback, as I wassaying, and panic in at running back.
He's been a kind of a itseems like he's the speediest running back
that they've got. He's been afun guy to watch tonight. Third and
one from their own twenty nine yardline. They're gonna wait for the back

(01:43:34):
judge's hand to go in the air. They're gonna try to kill as much
clock as they can. Here goesup with about six thirty seven left on
the clock, so I'll have tosnap it by six twenty seven. They'll
snap it now instead, and there'sa counterplay that's enough for the first down
for Burke, right up the gut, and we'll get across the thirty up
to the thirty three. You gottahave four yards on the carry as Burke

(01:43:54):
is taken down by number of oldabes, including Jack Glazier. And you
can see that no matter who's carryingthe football for New Richmond, they're putting
two hands on that ball. They'rereally trying to keep it secure, making
sure that nothing bad happens, leavingnothing to chance here in terms of ball
security. Twenty five to seven,New Richmond leads six eleven left to play

(01:44:16):
here in the fourth quarter, again, they'll wait till the back judges arm
goes in the air. So there'sunder ten seconds on that play clock,
and you can see Stellret kind ofstaring at him. Now the hand goes
in the air, he'll send aman in motion and they'll give it instead
to the tailback and he will kirk. We'll take it up across the thirty
five to the thirty six two yardgames second and eight now here for New

(01:44:36):
Richmond, they're getting to about fiveforty five left to go here in the
fourth quarter, clock ticking down well, and that's what New Richmond wants here
as they try and take up timeon this draw. Yeah, they're kind
of, you know, playing thatsmart game now, not trying to do
too much. Like you said, eat up clock, and you know,

(01:44:59):
the percentage go up for you themore that clock continues to tick down.
And you've got the ball in yourhands as well. Two receivers to the
right, one to the left nearhash if all at their own thirty six
second and seven five eighteen left togo here in the game as it takes
the snap and out thrown a littlebit of extracurricular and where did that ball
go? I think it got pastthe line of scrimmage. But the question
of whether he was out of thepocket, because there was no receiver anywhere

(01:45:21):
nearby on that throw from sell recI think you might be able to argue
that the hit. Here's the flagreally late. Do you think something was
centered? Do you think they changedtheir mind? It's got to be intentional
grounding. Yeah, they're gonna sayhe was not out of the pocket.
And because again I think the balljust barely got to the line of scrimmage,
which is the first thing you need. But stelerect was really close to

(01:45:43):
that tackle box and officials will takeit down away and they're gonna mark this
one back. It's a matter ofwhere they put the spot where he threw
that ball from. And officials aretalking right now. I mean, you're
gonna take the penalty because it isa loss of down five fourteen left to
play here in the fourth quarter, third, and it will be I would
assume it's going to be around thirdand about what twelve thirteen with where they

(01:46:06):
market. But we'll see, yeah, I guess we'll see. Not to
play Devil's advocate or anything here inthis one, but if it's intentional grounding
like that the passer, I thinkyou could argue that because the way he
was hit, that ball came outof his hand in a way that he
didn't want it. It wasn't closeto where he wanted it. I think

(01:46:29):
if I was that quarterback, that'sthe argument I'd be making. Yeah,
I could definitely see that they're gonnamark it back to the thirty two.
So it will be about third andtwelve, third and thirteen right in that
range here with a spot following aloss of down, So five fourteen left
here in the fourth, twenty fiveto seven, Tigers with the lead,
and so third and about twelve herefor New Richmond as Memorial, trying to

(01:46:51):
cling onto a little bit of hopethey have in this game, trying to
get a stop low snap, andhe still wreck has to scoop it.
Apple'll roll out to the right, trying to run to the thirty five to
the forty. Oh my goodness,he's got the first out out across the
forty five yard line and what wouldlook like a broken play, and he's
still on his feet across the fiftyand it's a rugby scrum push all the
way up to the forty eight yardline. And that is a play that

(01:47:14):
will win you the game. Andnow first out of Tigers. There might
be an injury here. They werecalling for somebody. Oh no, they
were saying that there was maybe afumble where the old age. Nonetheless,
what a run there for stell recwant a run? Yeah, taken taking
a bad situation and turning it intoa very good situation. That snap was
at the shoe tops here of thequarterbacks, Stelerect and he was able to

(01:47:35):
turn it into about a fifteen twentyyard game into Memorial territories. We took
under five minutes left to play anda time out taken by Memorial. They
need to stop the clock as bestthey can here with ball the forty eight
and four fifty eight remaining in thefourth. All right, enough time for
us to take a time out. We'll be back right after this here on

Hey, welcome back in here too, Carson Park. Time out taken by
the Old Abes with four fifty eightleft to play here in the fourth quarter.

(01:48:46):
It is New Richmond twenty five OakClaire Memorial seven and you're listening to
him right here on Classic Rock ninetytwo one FM, WMQMNOMENI Oa Clare,
Chip Will Falls and iHeart Radio stationand Rock nine two one dot com.
Pet Noah Schwartz with you, Noahfrom game here tonight. Memorial hung around
with New Richmond. But New RichmondI think, you know, kind of
showing off the tools the talent thatthey have late in this game as they

(01:49:09):
have gone onto this big league.Absolutely twenty five seven lead at a first
and ten from the Memorial forty eightyard line. The handoff and they give
up the middle to Heppner. He'llget near the forty five, you know,
about three on the play and we'llsee another time out taken by the
Old Abes, and some other scoreswill try to get to you here as
well. Like we said, we'retrying to get updates frump in a superior.

(01:49:31):
They've had some issues with the livestream there at last check and now
it is just gone a thirty fiveseconds ago. They Twitter is still good
for something or x or whatever youwant to call it. Twenty to nothing.
Oaklaire North gets the wind, sothey moved now to three and one
on the season. I'd love tohave the Stanton frontio, so my apologies,
but I imagine it's the first timethey've been three and one for a
long time at Oak Claire North. So that is a testament to Matt mcguinness's

(01:49:56):
crew and coaching staff there, andthey will look more next week. We'll
talk about that in a second. It is twenty to thirteen now Minominee with
the lead over Chippua. In Chippuaten minutes still though left to play.
I believe in the fourth quarter ofthat game they haven't change their graphic yet.
But in the fourth quarter in RiverFalls, it looks like it is
all Hudson now they've gone out. They was twenty to twenty a half time.

(01:50:19):
Hudson now leads forty one to twentysix. Forty left to play in
the fourth quarter there, so that'show things set up gonna be a fun,
fun race here in the Big Riversas all of a sudden, oak
Clare North's going to be at thetop of it, with a couple of
other teams, New Richmond being oneof those at two and Owen Conference play
really an exciting time and the BigRivers, especially with Oaklare North Memorial moving

(01:50:43):
over that conference with all the Marshfieldarea teams next year as a keeper there
on the red pass option and takehim down as stell wreck back or a
loss of one, they'll take onemore time out. The final time out
the old Abs have. It'll bethird and nine coming up with four forty
one left to play here in thefourth quarter, it is New Richmond twenty
five, Memorial seven and Noah saythat's over yet for Memorial now burning through

(01:51:08):
their time outs. But again, they just feel like you need some kind
of big play to get something goingyour way because if the crowd's kind of
out of it seems like everything's kindof falling New Richmond's way at this point.
Yeah, a little bit, ButI if I was the old days,
I certainly would not be upset withthe way that this team has played
tonight. They've hung in there withthem and just maybe a couple of things

(01:51:30):
going differently. This is a veryclose ball game. Yeah, next week
we will be right back here onFriday night to bring you the Chipwa falls
at Eau Claire North game here fromCarson Park. That should be another good
one there and it got especially ifCHAIAI loses tonight, I think you'd probably
give Ouclaire North the edge in thatgame. It should be a nice close,

(01:51:50):
exciting affair i'd imagine between the Cardinalsand the Huskies next week. So
forty one left to play here inthe fourth quarter, twenty five to seven
Tigers with the lead here on OakleareMemorial and thirty nine coming up from the
Memorial forty seven yard line. Yeah, they will give the end around handoff

(01:52:10):
here to Langness around the left edge, bounces off a tackler at the forty
to the thirty five thirty near sideline. He will tiptoe the sideline out near
the twenty, in fact, insidethe twenty yard line and out at the
seventeen yard line, thirty yard game, and that might be the backbreaker right
there for the Tigers. Yeah, that was a rough one, but the
runner was not touched until he gotto about the twenty yard line on that

(01:52:33):
run, doing a really good jobof weaving in and out of tacklers.
Certainly fun to watch. Yeah, again, the end around there and memorial
I think maybe again, not reallysure what they were expecting there, but
they certainly were not expecting the endaround in that situation. And the Richmond
certainly taking advantage of a four thirtytwo left to play, they get out
of bound, so the clock remainsstopped here that four thirty two left and

(01:52:56):
the Richmond up twenty five to seven. They'll fake the handoff here, They're
for the juggular. They throw itover the middle and that is caught back
of the end zone, touch downNew Richmond as alex On makes the catch
any with the catch of the stellWreck touchdown pass his second of the season,
and Annie comes in his first touchdowncatch of the year, and with

(01:53:17):
four to twenty six remaining, NewRichmond is on the way to a four
and old start here in twenty twentythree, and it's been well deserved.
Tonight, I want to talk aboutthat pass from Stellart, What a read.
He had, such great pocket presence, he stood in there, he
found his receiver. He fired. There was no doubt about it anywhere on

(01:53:38):
that play, seventeen yard touchdown passand the extra point is up and it
is no good. He misses thatone, hooking it left at a thirty
one to seven lead here for theTigers over the Old Abes with four to
twenty six left to go back afterthis here on Classic Rode two one.
This is so clear high school footballon Classic Rock ninety two one. Without

(01:54:26):

and get started. Because nobody wantsto spend the season on the sidelines.
Your home for the Old Apes isClassic Rocket two one. Welcome back in
here to Carson Park. It isa thirty one to seven lead for New

(01:54:46):
Richmond over Memorial Pekanu San Noah Schwartzwith you New Richmond on the way to
win number four of the season.Memorial hung tight through the first half,
but New Richmond a little bit toomuch here in the second half. Yeah,
but it's still a great p forwardsfor Memorial, something that they can
build on going into next week.I'm sure that's what they'll look for.
On this drive, short kick,Ferguson takes it at the twenty five yard

(01:55:08):
line, looking for blocks, dancingat the thirty five and then they'll be
ripped down. We're on the thirtyseven yard line. Players still fighting hard
on the special teams as well,so he gets up to the thirty seven
on the returning and Oak there Northalready a winner tonight. The other two
games in the Big Rivers still goingon as well. Remember two football Friday
Night starts in about twenty three minutes, and we're on Newstox WMQ AM eight

(01:55:30):
eighty and one oh six point threeFM as well in the Eau Claire area.
If you're outside of that area youwant to listen in, just go
to the iHeartRadio Apple search for WMQand you can listen into that nine thirty
two eleven o'clock recap of scores andthey'll get reports from all over the say
to Wisconsin. In high school football. You can even get reports from Green
Bay, where you went to highschool, right yeah, all the way
back east, all the way backeast, all over the place. There.

(01:55:53):
Even even Noah schwartz Is school getscovered here on football Friday night.
So I have a two receiver areset to the left, two to the
right here for the old Abs.New quarterback in there as well, and
he's gonna roll out to his right. That's Aaron Gunlock, and he will
be taken down at the thirty oneyard line. That is a big loss
drive starting at the thirties, abouta six yard loss. Gunlack will be

(01:56:15):
sacked on the plate and it's secondand long. I will say the fans
here, the student section for eauClaire Memorials still going strong. It is
Jersey night. As we mentioned earlier, there's a Montreal Canadiens jersey up nice
all right. I like Jersey Nightbecause you tend to get some of the
really unique ones out there. Ohyeah, I'm a big fan of jerseys

(01:56:36):
in any context. You keep tryingto pick out some good ones down there.
That's a good one for sure. The lefty quarterback gun Lack will throw
out to the far side that isincomplete bottle late flag coming in. He
got sandwiched back near the twenty threeyard line. This is gonna be roughing
the passer, certainly, and thiswill be marked off and should be a
yeah. I believe it's an automaticfirst down. Don't quote me on that

(01:56:58):
in high school football. But thisone will be marked off fifteen yards.
And I say automatic because it mightend up being second and one. This
is where Pete needs to be betterwith high school football rules, that's for
sure. But nonetheless, they willmark it all the way up to the
forty six yard line and this willbe a ye, it'll be second down
in one. Oh, Pete,I think to a certain it's start going

(01:57:20):
to give it a first down.Okay, never mind you there you go
even better, I think to acertain extent, everybody always wishes that they
played quarterback. If they didn't,that's a play that kind of brings you
back to reality and says, oh, you know, maybe I wouldn't want
to do that. Yeah, IMy mom wouldn't sign the permission slips,
so at least for the quarterbacks. But that's for sure, not that I

(01:57:42):
was good enough to be a quarterback, that's for sure as well. Three
receivers had left one of the rightand once again it will be unluck.
Here we'll run out to his left, roll to his left, the lefty
quarterback looking down field. It's caught. Nice catch made on the sideline about
the forty nine yard line. Ibelieve they've now they're gonna call I think
they were gonna call that. Nowthey're gonna call a hold down field.
So this is coming back. Headlinejudge throws this one and it's all the

(01:58:06):
way back at the forty yard line. This flag, and we're gonna call
holding on that roll out there fromGunlack. Yeah, I mean it's it's
easy to spot a hold on somethinglike that. A lot of times offensive
lineman just get a little over excitedwhen the when the quarterback gets out of
the pocket and h it's it's dangerousif you're an offensive line coach, that's

(01:58:30):
for sure. Three twenty nine remaininghere in the fourth quarter, it's New
Richmond thirty one Oakleare Memorial seven andNew Richmond will take the penalty. Back
them up here a few yards andagain they'll vote from the original line of
scrimmage. So we first in twentycoming up, and apparently Memorial is trying
to at least have a New Richmondstudent section. Remember what happened to them

(01:58:54):
in the baseball on the baseball diamondwhere you and I love to be a
course in the summertime with the Express. But the student sections are having some
fun with each other now in athirty one to seven ball game. And
I mean, that's why you tuneinto high school football. That's that's all
the fun. Right. Where's Memorialwith some great years and getting close to
state championships and so on, Andwe've had some great seasons on the ball

(01:59:16):
diamond as well. Great sports schoolis oclare Memorial is Gunlock having some trouble
here in the back field, runningout of initial pressure and then he is
eventually sacked on the play by anotherdefensive man who's been all over the place
that I Albert can't do. Theyhave not brought in the second stringers here
of New Richmond in this ball game, even though it's the second stringers in
for Memorial. And now a threeO nine left to play clock runs and

(01:59:39):
it will be second and a countrymile here for the old ages. Come
Lock the passer here for memorial. He's really good at moving around. He
has to be. He doesn't havea whole lot of time, but it
just needs to be that much betterto escape these guys from New Richmond.
Gunloke has one receiver left to tothe right. He will we'll give it

(02:00:00):
on the handoff up the middle, trying to bounce out here and no space
for him is Ricky Spencer. Heran into his own lineman there right about
it the line of scrimmage, andas he went backwards he ends up losing
a few yards to the twenty threeyard line. And now it is third
and what about thirty three or so? I think? Am I doing the
math right? They haven't marked itup on the board yet. We're gonna

(02:00:21):
say third and twenty eight. Maybethey've already marked it up there, So
third and twenty eight now for theold Light. Now there it is third
and thirty three hours, right, man, don't doubt yourself, right,
thirty thirty three for the Old Abes. Down thirty one to seven with two
twelve left to play. Second stringersin here for the old Abe gun like,
we'll throw it out near side. That ball is up an incomplete little
contact here on the near side.Josh Lortshire was the man who was intended

(02:00:44):
for good defense there as well. From New Richmond. The backup defensive back
cha Chad Fonseka, the junior wasthere on the coverage fourth and thirty three
for the old Abes. I'd imaginethey'll be punning here, and they will.
They're not the Chiefs. They don'tthey don't feel confident in the fourth
and thirty three situations like Patrick Mahomesapparently did last night. Apparently. I'm

(02:01:06):
still shaking my head at that call. So after punt here is Vincent Mullen
and he will try to get thisback to maybe the original line of scrimmage,
end over end kick. Nobody wasback to return. This takes a
great Memorial bounce inside the thirty andnow bounces back to the thirty one yard
line. It's gonna end up beinga pretty decent punt here, about forty

(02:01:30):
six yards on it, so it'snot too bad. A nice little highlight
there. Of course, you don'twant your punner to be the only highlight.
There were certainly highlights for Memorial inthis game. Noah throughout again,
they kept it closed. They hadthat touchdown from Simmons that got Memorial up
seven and nothing but thirty one yanswered for the Tigers. That's been the
difference. Absolutely, I agree, and I think that we might lose sight

(02:01:51):
of that here late in the fourthquarter, But for at least the first
three quarters this game was a lotcloser than it was on the scoreboard.
Memorial was staying in this game morethan a lot of people would maybe maybe
have expected them to looking at theirrecords coming into this one, and all
they'll need is three kneel downs herewill New Richmond, and they will do

(02:02:12):
that as the old Abs do nothave a time out to take, So
just a couple more kneel downs andwe will have the end of this one.
Let's give you a quick update onscores. Looks like Hudson as well,
on the way to a win againstRiver Falls forty eight to twenty seven
with two twenty left. There stilla close one up at Deray Field in
Chippewa. It's twenty eight to twentyManominee leading Chipwa Falls in that game,

(02:02:32):
but still six thirty four left toplay there, so they've still got some
time between those two schools and oneof the more storied rivalries over the years
in the big rivers between two powerhousesthere in chai Hi and Manominee. So
under one seventeen left to go hereagain, takeaways, I know, obviously
no moral victories and that sort ofthing. And now you dropped to one

(02:02:54):
and three on the season, andI mean now your backs are kind of
up against the wall, right onlynine games and high school football season,
you basically need to win pretty muchevery game. Maybe you've got one more
spot for a lost, no,but there's not a lot of room for
air in this Memorial team. It'sexpecting a lot more out of this season.
So it's gonna not necessarily hit areset button, but there's gonna have
to be sort of a pretty serioustalk right in serious moments here this next

(02:03:16):
week in practice for the old Apes, it's gut check time for sure.
But I don't think it's all negative. As we've been talking about for three
quarters. The Apes stayed with avery good New Richmond Tigers football team.
I think that's a positive and Ithink that depending on who they play next
week, that's something that they cantake into next week. Yeah, we
will talk a little bit about thatand plenty more as the final Neil Down

(02:03:39):

up as the final here from CarsonPark. It's New Richmond Tigers thirty one,
the Oak Claire Memorial Old Abs sevenHere in week number four of High
School Football Action Pekandootson along with NoahSchwartz. We'll recap this game here and

(02:06:16):
take a look at what's coming upand some other scores from around the Big
Rivers as well. No one aswe look back at this game again,
like we said, Memorial kept thisthing close. Not only did they keep
it close, they took the leadearly on that touchdown from Simmons after what
a five minute drive in the secondquarter, four minutes left to go in
the second quarter, Memorials up sevenand nothing. Everything is coming up roses

(02:06:38):
for the Old Abs, but twotouchdowns there the end of the half,
their quick drives, quick scores forNew Richmond. Game of fourteen to seven
lead going into halftime, and eventhough you felt like Memorial was in the
game, it certainly felt like NewRichmond something clicked after Memorials scored that touchdown
and off they went absolutely. Imean, they were in the game,
just maybe not on the scoreboard. But it's just something that these two teams

(02:07:05):
really worked on. They both playedreal well, Memorial really running the ball
well with Simons. Simmons is animpressive running back, There's no doubt about
that, and I think he's probablythe highlight for them old abs here today.
That four yard touchdown run that hehad gay Memorial a seven nothing lead.
But then again some quick drives righta minute drive that Hitt he capped

(02:07:26):
off with a one yard touchdown runmade at seven to seven with two fifty
three left, and then at yourmade interception that was a big turning point.
On the next drive for Memorial setup New Richmond at the Memorial twenty
one yard line. It took themonly fifty seconds to go down the field.
A Burke two yard touchdown run gotthem into the end zone to make
at fourteen to seven, and thatwas enough to put them up at the

(02:07:46):
end of the half, and thenthey would score a few more few more
scorers in the second half. Infact, it was a first drive of
the second half. It took alittle over three minutes and went eighty nine
yards. Hepner went in for asixteen yard touchdown run that would put New
Richmond up twenty two to seven andthat point and eventually at a field goal,
and then a stell Wreck pet passannie eight for seventeen yards in the

(02:08:09):
fourth quarter would cap things off forNew Richmond, winning thirty one to seven.
Here tonight, quick look at thescores from around the Big Rivers Conference.
It is a final in River Falls. Hudson wins forty eight to twenty
six, So now you can giveHudson a three and one record, River
Falls a two and two record. They will stay at home next week.

(02:08:30):
They're gonna host Memorial in next week'saction as well. Chippua is trailing Monomonee
twenty eight to nothing. Manominee hasthe ball with let's see a minute thirty
six left to go in the fourthquarter. Chippua looks like they've got some
time outs left, but the clockis running about second and four coming up
for Menomonie. So Monomonie is closeto capping off a four and oh start
