(00:00):
Your home for the Huskies is ClassicRock ninety one, and the national anthem

(00:23):
here from Williams Stadium in Monomanie wassconsin We're ready for football here between North
and Manomonie. This evening a greatrendition of the national anthem here from the
singers and the choir from Menomonie. This is homecoming day as well, homecoming
in a lot of different ways.A bunch of alumni here for the Mustangs

(00:43):
are here at Williams Stadium. Infact, even the cheerleaders are wearing old
school Menomonie jerseys down there as wellas part of the cheerleading outfit here.
This evening, a big parade earlier, and so a lot of pop and
circumstances. Dan, you played plentyin high school games. You know how
what emotions do and how how emotionswork hitting football, But especially on homecoming,

(01:04):
especially against a team who hadn't beatMonominee in twenty nine years and did
it last year, this feels,at least from emotional standpoint, like Monomenie
is gonna have a lot behind themhere tonight. That doesn't mean North can't
win this game. They certainly can. They're a solid team. But you
know that all that kind of stuffis gonna be in Monomine's quarter tonight.
And you know, players like tosay that they don't see that kind of

(01:25):
stuff. Same with coaches, theysay like they don't they don't tell their
players any of that or whatever, but these players do. In a we're
in a time of social media.Everyone's seeking everything. All the players know
each other, everyone knows each other. Everyone wants to beat each other,
get that kind of bragging rights, especially like between these two teams here,
who've been pretty historically known as likerivals. While they haven't been, while

(01:47):
they haven't been the best in somecases or another, but right especially right
now, you gotta feel like thisis a this is gonna be an intense
rivalry. Now. This is oneof the things the coach st talked about
in the media this past week wasabout how this Oaklare North squad, of
course, had has really made alot of steps. Right, this is
not the North teams. And we'vetalked about this as well from the last

(02:08):
you know, from the last multipleyears of the last two saying it,
yeah, the last two years,of course, Matt McGinn mmigan assist done
such a great job taking this teamand putting it into the position to win.
We've talked about it all the season, but you know, if you're
a Minominee fan out there, youdon't follow them too much. And I
think, oh, this is OaklairNorth, They're coming in. This should
be an easy win. I thinkthe Mustangs are already they know what happened

(02:30):
last year. I'm sure Mike sinshas this team ready and rare and to
go. They know that North isnot a rollover, that this is actually
a pretty darn good matchup for thebig Rivers. Yeah, because if you
take this team whitely, they willbite you. They will come with a
force. And there have been otherteams, as I've been shown by this
Oaklare North schedule, that have takenthem lightly and they have paid the price

(02:52):
for it. Well, for onesuperiod twenty nothing, they we all thought
that that was gonna be like alittle bit closer than that. Baklin North
came out there and they showed themwhat they got and Superior took them lightly
and they paid the price for it. Now, if Monomie is gonna come
out here and then they take oakClare North lightly, which they should not,
absolutely should not in any case, take them lightly and sins will definitely

(03:12):
have planted that image in their mindof wanting to get a win here.
But if you take this offense andespecially this defense, who has been showing
up night in and night out forthis Oak Claire North team, if you
take them lightly, they will comeout and they will be a force to
be reckoned with. You do notwant to let this team down, and
the same goes for Menomonie. OuClaire North knows Monomie's not the greatest team,

(03:34):
maybe not the best in recent yearsespecially, but they know that it's
still a historically good team with reallygood players out on that field. Kickoff
will be from Monomanie Are to startthings off. Oak Claire North will receive
at Monomonie in the home maroon uniformswith white numbers outlined and gold maroon helmets
and gold m on the side. There for the Mustangs North and the road
white uniforms black pants so Columbia blueoutlines the black helmets that they have as

(04:00):
well with the North logo on theside. The man to kickoff for the
Mustangs will be Isaac Nielsen. Backto return for Eau Claire North is Maddox
Girtz and Trevian Johnson. We areready for football. It is week number
six here in the high school footballseason. The run up comes from Isaac
Nielsen for a Manominee twelve minutes onthe clock, and here we go downfield,

(04:25):
it goes Girts will take this ona hop at the seven yard line
between the numbers and the hash ofthe twenty. Now to the sideline to
the thirty breaks a tackle initially thengets spun down at about the thirty three
yard line. Tackle made in coveragefrom Ethan Dunham. And it's the thirty
two thirty three yard line where Northwill start off here in quarter number one,
and now's some great containment there bythe Menominee kick return team or the

(04:48):
Nautie kicking team there they always seemto be firing out of that firing out
of that kick return stance or kickingstance, almost like they've got a fire
in their belly, almost like theyreally you want to win this game.
As we said, that intensity,it's already there that we're already seeing it.
They are hitting hard right now. You'll see a number of guys from
a Nominee play on both sides ofthe ball. I mean, it's similar

(05:10):
similar to how North does. Afew guys here and there will certainly keep
our eye on that. It isPeyton McCracken in at quarterback with Olson to
his left. Three receivers, twoto the right, one to the left.
Is a handoff to Olsen up thegun. He told to the forty.
He posses out to the nearest sideline to the fifty to the forty
gut one man to beat, andhe's taken down inside the thirty five yard
line of anominee, down to thethirty two yard line, and they flipped

(05:31):
the field from thirty three to thirtytwo and North in business on a big
run. And that's just a beautifulplay called there by McGuinness. Absolutely opens
the red sea there for cam Olson. Some beautiful blocking by oak Clare North.
It almost seems like Monomnie was justtaken off guard by it. However,
I will say number five Steel Shaffer, who plays running back for them

(05:51):
on here. He's listened as alinebacker, but he should be listened to
as a safety. Chase down CamOlsen with some great speed Olson. We'll
go to the left of mccracking ballon the near hash mark. From left
to right go the Huskies two receiversleft, one right hand off to Olson.
Again he is hit in the backfield, but he'll actually roll up across
the body up to the thirty yardline tackle on the play from Max Ericsson.

(06:14):
It will be gain of two secondand eight here for North. And
that's just a great job there byEricson to kind of fill out that hole.
There was a little bit of roomthere for cam Wilson run and while
he did drag him for a littlebit, Cam Wilson does that though he's
a big runner, he's a strongrunner. He's gonna do that to no
matter what. And has a goodjob by Ericson to kind of close down
that hole because that could have beensomething bigger. So two plays into the

(06:38):
drive, second and eight now herefor North. Eleven or eight left to
go here in quarter number one theofficial tonight Josh Klinger. He is assisted
by Michael Dwan, John Murdute,Richie Nargis and Adam Swannapool. And we
have a whistle and a time outthat was close to the play clock ticking

(06:58):
down, and North will want totalk about at ten fifty seven or raining
here on quarter number one. Noscore between North and Manominee here, Classic
Rock ninety two one FMWMQ, Monomonie, O Claire, Chipwa Falls Rock nine
two one dot com and and iHeartRadio again. Our scoreboard sponsor is on
O King no score here. We'llkeep you up to date on the other
games going on in the Big RiversConference. It is River Falls and Superior

(07:24):
tonight and they're up in Superior andit is a rainy, wet night in
that one. No score yet inthat contest. New Richmond is at Chipwa
no score there, and Memorial ishosting Hudson at Carson Park. No score
early there as well. We'll keepyou up to date on all those,
of course, we'll Claire Regis yesterdaylosing to Mondovie twenty four to twenty and

(07:44):
a Thursday night action there Mondovie beatingthem for the first time since Mondovie moved
over from the dun Saint Plury tothe Clover Belt Conference. Had a big
win for the Buffaloes last night overRegions, so that's a more intrigue on
the smaller school side as well. We're back after the time out Atan mccracking
in the shotgun. He's got Olsento his left, two receivers out to

(08:05):
the left, one to the righton the near hash mark left to right,
they go second and eight. Phenomineshowing blitz. Mccrackin fakes the handoff,
rolls left. He's hitting the backfield. He'll be sacked. The initials
sack came from Brody Thornton. Hegot helped out by a number of Mustangs.
But that is a big loss.Back to the thirty seven yard line,
a loss of about seven on theplay and it'll be third and forever.
And Thornton had beaten Kenton Mondo reallyquickly. They're almost off the jump.

(08:30):
He had beaten Mondo with a littlewith a little shimmy, moved to
kind of cut to the inside.Mccracking had nowhere to go. Absolutely great
containment and just takes him down fora big loss. There. Great job
by this Monomnie defense to kind ofkeep mccracking pin containment because he will run
fall back at the Monomonie thirty sevenyard line. They need the Huskies to
get to the twenty two, thirdand fifteen clock ticks. They will give

(08:52):
the handoff and a delay to Olston. He's got a chance here. Thirty
spun down at about the twenty sixyard line. Boy, initially that hole
was absolutely massive. Stepping up tomake the tackle was steel shaper and he
saved a first down because Dan thatat least when he got the ball,
I thought there was a chance ofat all fifteen yards. Oh yeah.
Another great job at Monomonie. Greatcontainment there. They kind of got thrown

(09:13):
off guard there with a little QBfake and then a running back draw right
up the middle there. Great playcalled by the eau Claire North and wow,
what a great job at Monomnie tojust close up that gap. And
what it does is it makes thisnow a fourth and manageable. North will
go for it. Not a greatkicking game for this Husky team, and
they're certainly too far away to attemptit. So fourth and five from the

(09:33):
Monomenie twenty seven yard line, eatingthe twenty two Monomonie shifting up on the
line of cracking back to pass, throws it on a slant route, has
this tight end, but he's short. Believe a short Jensen made the catch,
He'll be about two yards short atthe twenty six yard line. He
got three when he needed five, and it's a turnover on down to the
muse saying, beautiful job tackling there. I'm Brady Jensen. Jensen's not a

(09:54):
big Jensen's not a not a likeguy to bring down. You have to
kind of wrap him up and makesure you're bringing him down by the legs
because he will run right through you. Great job to make sure. It's
a great job to like have theawareness to make sure he's not getting past
that sticks there. And Brady Jensen, that's gonna be a guy we probably
see more in this passing game.He didn't he wasn't very he wasn't used

(10:15):
very much in that last game forOld Claire North, but I'd expect to
see it a lot more here witha monomonee of passing. Defensive isn't the
strongest in the big Rivers. BradyJohnson will go in under center and then
it's a big tight formation here forthe Mustangs. They'll hand it off to
the fullback and there's a big roomon the right side across the thirty,
across the thirty five, up nearthe thirty nine yard line. Run on

(10:37):
the play from I think John Higbeewho got the run there, Higby,
the five foot eight hundred and ninetyfive pound running back in junior And that's
a first down up to the thirtynine yard line. Yeah, and he
really broke on that initial on thatinitial tackle, it looked like he was
gonna give stopped for me a lossof like a or not a loss,
but like maybe a game of likeone or two or something. But he

(10:58):
just kept on running. He hasthat he has that extra speed to really
take it past the defense and kindof run it off the top of this
is the problem that we saw witheau Claire North last week. Too much
rushing. Wheredy Johnson goes under center, tight ends all stacked up on the
line. He will run to hisright, but he handed off up the
middle. Nice job stacking up rightup the gut there by the Husky defense.

(11:18):
Hayden, We're getting the hand offand he is shoved back after a
gain of two to the forty oneyard line and it'll be second and eight.
And that's the great thing about havinga guy like Kenton Mondo on your
team there. He is a monumentousguy, just a giant, six foot
five over two hundred and fifty poundsand he will close up any gap right
there. He is perfect for thisrun stopping defense. You're gonna need to

(11:41):
see more of him to stop thisMinomnie offense. Though, Second and eight
now from their own forty one yardline. Here for the Mustangs, eto
six left to go on the firstquarter, no score. They'll swing it
out of the backfield. Too strongon the pass from Jans or Johnson rather
trying to find it out to oneof his receivers who was out of the
backfield, Isaac Ellenson. And nowthird and eight and just a little swing

(12:01):
pass there, and a little bittoo strong on the pass, and North
has Manomie and a third and long, and even though he didn't complete it,
you can kind of see that littlebit of speed he's got on that
ball. He really had that outthere. And the thing was Brady Jensen,
if he would have been half astep quicker, he probably would have
taken that ball and gone the otherway with it, because he was right
up on there. However, quickpass by Johnson, quick and complete,

(12:24):
and you lift to fight another day. Johnson and the shotgun. Now three
receivers left, third and eight fromthe their own forty one looking left the
entire way, flings it out tohis tail back there, Steel makes the
catch, makes a move. He'sto the forty forty five on the near
sideline. Take it down into northterritory. What a move that was.
The tackle came on from Maato skirts, but boy, the little wouldn't even

(12:45):
a stifarm. He just gotta shovethe defender away and that's enough for a
first down. No, And it'sthat's the hard part about defending against a
guy like Steel Shaffer like that,he's gonna try and make you miss.
You gotta be able to shirt tackle, go down and grab a leg because
even if you don't, even ifyou don't bring him down in that first
go, you're gonna have other defenderscome over and help you out there.
Just not a great job by stoppingto get low enough to grab him,

(13:09):
and then a great job by Shafferto just keep on running though. Seel
Shaffer with the first down. Theywill give it now on No, I
fake handoff rather play action. He'llthrow this one away. Johnson took a
hit nicely into the backfield there withTaylor Frederick to make the play. Nobody
on that left side on kind ofa naked rollout to his left against his
body. That's an incompletion second andten, and that was beautiful covers there

(13:31):
by O Claire North had everyone swampedup. There wasn't even a single player
that I saw that was open exceptfor maybe someone in the backfield. But
the way that they rolled out andthat it was also a great job by
Taylor Frederick to really close down andgive a lick to Johnson there. And
you know Johnson's gonna want to getget thrown, get run and get all
that stuff. Get the offense moving. Right now, Johnson goes under center,

(13:52):
two fullbacks offset right. He'll pitchit to Shaffer. He's got a
hold across the forty five. He'sclose to the first down, taken down
about the thirty. They're gonna givehim the thirty eight yard line in the
end there, taken down by GarrettSoffol and it'll be third and one now
here for the Mustangs was seven oreight left here in the first quarter.
And they are known for being arunning team, but they probably will be

(14:13):
tonight. Oh Claire North not thestrongest run defense. When they are able
to stop the run, it's usuallyon the inside, not the outside.
So whenever they're kind of doing trickoptions like this, it can usually net
for some extra yardage. They'll shifttheir fullbacks to the right side of the
formation. It's a fullback handoff anda first down and much much more across
the thirty yard line up to aboutthe twenty nine yard line there again for

(14:37):
the upback. That was Hi Higbyagain, and that was the second time
they'd handled off to him in thatbackfield, and sure enough he gets the
first down to the twenty nine AndI just don't think, oh Claire North
is expecting Higby to beginning these typesof runs because he's not really noted as
their main running back. That's steelShaffer. But however, he's still gonna
get those runs, and he's stillgonna do his best to get his get

(14:58):
as far upfield as possible. Well, he's a fast guy and he's a
big guy too. He will keeppushing this defense for sure. So first
down here and once again Johnson givesthe tailback Shaper the run and he's got
a counter to the right side, breaks attack a little to twenty fifteen ten
five and he is in for thescore. Won an ice counter and steel
Shaper is showing up what he cando. Touchdown Manominee as they go in

(15:20):
from twenty nine yards out and it'ssix and uping Mustangs. And we kind
of saw this last game with OldClaire North against Chipwaw here they kind of
started out a little bit just notwith the same intensity we're used to seeing.
And that's kind of how I'm seeingit right now there. The body
language is just like we're gonna kindof let everything go and maybe something will

(15:41):
run our way here. On defense, well, you can't have that when
you're against a Mustang team like this. You need to go out there and
you need to kind of put kindof put yourself on the line, kind
of just give that real great justgrits that we're used to seeing with this
Old Claire North team, but we'renot seeing that right now. So we'll
see how this team develops. We'llsee what Gus can kind of draw up
for them. Here. They aregonna run for the two point conversion here

(16:03):
and run a play rather for thetwo point conversion. Johnson takes a snap
pitch as a shafer running right. They've got great blocking up front. That
offensive line is getting a big pushand he gets in for the two eight
nothing Monominee with the early lead sixo seven ago here on quarter number one.
We're back after this right here onClassic rockety two. This is so
clear high school football on Classic Rocke. You need a hitchhaul, pulled,

(16:32):
dump or transport. You need atrailer. Get quality trailers at reasonable prices
at Goodrich Trailer Sales and Health, mel Wisconsin's premier trailer dealership. Goodridge has
hundreds of new and pre owned utilityequipment, cargo, dump and car trailers,
including the state's largest selection of livingquarters horse trailers. Go to Goodrich

(16:52):
Trailers dot com. That's good RichTrailers dot com. Your home for the
Huskies is Classic Rocke. Welcome backin here too, Williams Stadium. It
is an eight nothing lead for Amnomineeover Oak Clare Nor six oh seven left
to go here in quarter number onein eight place, seventy six yard drive

(17:15):
that took a little over three minuteStrea minutes fifteen seconds in fact, for
Monominee to get in for their firstscore. It's a steel Shaffers show.
That twenty nine yard touchdown run thathe just had. He's up to thirty
eight yards rushing. He's got someyards through the air as well. He
was the main featured back on thatdrive. Is a low line drive kick
we'll be scooped up by Gerts atthe ten yard line for the twenty twenty

(17:37):
five makes a move pulling a tacklerto the thirty. Not much more for
Girts on the return, So onceagain North will start at their own thirty
yard line and off we go herefor drive number two for Oak Claire North,
and feels like, Dan, Imean, the way the Monominee moved
that ball down the field, You'renot gonna, you know, sell the
North defense yet, but it feelslike they need some kind of response here

(17:59):
on the offensive side of the Ohyeah, especially because right now it seems
like Minomnie has that kind of momentumon their side, the way that they've
been pushing with the same kind ofthe same kind of force and power that
we were used to seeing the oldClaire North team come out with. It
seems like Minomnie's dragged that now andthey're they're gonna We're gonna see what they
got drawn up here on this OakClaire North offensive drive and go figure we

(18:19):
end up seeing Zach Shipman in atquarterback. He'll run with it for about
a yard on the keeper to theright side of the line. They mustangs
filled up that gap very quickly. There the tackle initial hit from Cage Sorens
and there are others helped out. He'll get a yard on the run.
It was second and nine. Herewe see shipment in the game from McCracken.
Mccracking only threw once on that firstdrive. It was a completion on

(18:42):
the fourth down. But again Shipmentinto the game. Oh yeah. Shipman
is more of like a running backhybrid type quarterback. He's he's the type
of guy that's gonna run through anotherdefender. Even though he's listed at his
quarterback, he's basically a running backslash quarterback out there on the field.
We saw him come in last week. He's up to eight for fourteen passing

(19:03):
on the season for ninety seven yards. They'd have two rushing touchdowns last week
against Chipwa high snap. He's gonnarun with us a bit of a broken
play, breaks the tackle at theline of scrimmage, but doesn't get a
ton more a two yard run tothe thirty three yard line. And again
that high snap coming in breaks upthe play and all of a sudden third
and seven here for the Huskies. And a little bit of nerves here from
this Eau Claire North team, alittle bit of nerves kind of distracting them

(19:26):
a bit of scenes, especially withthat last snap. You almost have to
wonder if they're kind of a littlebit worried about losing this game, what
they need to get out of thatmindset. They need to really they need
to really get that intensity of likewe're seeing a monotony, just kind of
match that attitude. Well, it'slike you say, I mean, it's
that sort of all the sudden thingsare going south quickly, so quick early,
and that can get away from youreally quickly. Mccracking now back into

(19:48):
the game already at the quarterback position, sends a man in motion. He'll
fake the give little slant route here. It is too high for his intended
receiver on the near side in CarterBurns right idea single coverage downfield. He
just overthrew the pass. Burns actuallygot his fingers to it on a big
leap. That would have been oneheck of a catch if he pulled it
in. No chance so to makeit fourth and seven, and a little

(20:11):
bit too much on that one,as you said, and that's kind of
what he's used to doing. He'sused to kind of throwing it up to
where only the receivers can catch.Put on that one, he needed to
be perfect on that. He neededto kind of put it square on the
chest because the play works. Hehad him for wide open. Again,
it was the right idea. Notsure if there was maybe alignment up there
from a dominie who got his armsup and maybe effected the angle of that
throw. I think it was alinebacker. They had someone kind of up

(20:33):
there, kind of hovering around thatmiddle of the field. Punter standing in
his own twenty yard line, fumblesit. He will get it away,
decent kick here. It'll be takenat the thirty five yard line. Looking
for a return here to the nearestside, and the must sings Jake Anderson
down the near side line of thefifty to the forty five. He steps
out of bounds across the forty five. Down goes the line judge as well.
We'll see where he gets up tomarket at the forty four yard line.

(20:56):
Big return and again a low snap. We saw two bad snaps one
on the punt, one on seconddown on that play, and all of
a sudden again, like you said, Dawn, they feel kind of the
nervousness out there for North because thisis not going well to start this game.
Yeah, maybe a little bit antsyright over there, especially with those
snaps. But this is what wesaw last time. Chippa Valley was able

(21:18):
to gut that kick return team especially, and that was kind of their main
source of offense out there, whichis funny because it's the special teams,
but they were able to get many, many great, big returns against Oak
Claire North special teams, and youthought that they'd maybe sure that up a
little bit. But here we seethem just running along the left side and
no one's really taking the best anglesto cut them off. Eat nothing,

(21:38):
Menominee. With the lead here foreleven left to go, first quarter,
Johnson will give it to Shafer. He's got another massive hole up the middle
of the forty freaking tackles, trippedup across the thirty and taken down at
the twenty seven yard line. Thetouchdown saving tackle was from Reagan Crewett,
but not before a twenty up tothe twenty seven yard line. They go

(22:00):
and then is a sixteen yard game. And that was a great job by
crew It even though they allowed agreat chunk yards there. They've been doing
that this whole game so far.But crew It with a great job on
that last final, last final tripup to bring him down because otherwise Shaffer,
like you said, completely gone. This defensive line needs to sure themselves
up like they did in that firstcouple of plays. Yeah, the Monomie

(22:22):
offensive line has been impressive here tonight. And they will give the handoff,
not to Shaffer this time to oneof their backup running backs this time,
and Hayden Weird. He gets anice run up to the fifteen yard line
on the play and again just kindof chunking out these yards at the moment
and puts them in great position. And I hate using intensity as a catch
all here now, but intensity hasreally been the issue right now. They're

(22:45):
almost waiting for Monomonee to make aplay first instead of actually getting out of
their snaps, getting up in theirfaces as Monomnie runs quickly here. So
once again Monomnie comes to the line, Johnson under center. It's a Type
four may they'll give it again tothe back and a big whole left side
counters at the ten down to thefive yard line and they are just running

(23:06):
through their tailbacks. Right now arethe Mustangs. That was Jack drought on
the carry and it's another I thinkthey're gonna give them first down yard ands
here to the five yard line. They'll send the chains down its first end
goal here from the five. Twofifty eight left to go, first quarter,
monomone eight North nothing and they're knockingon the doorstep and Manomonie, especially
in that run game, is justcutting through with like a hot knife,

(23:27):
fling butter as they run up tothe line again. They are absolutely wanting
to get out to a huge leadon this Old Claire North team because they
know that they can come back fromthis hand off to the fullback up the
gut. Not enough for the touchdownthis time about three yards up the middle
there for Higbee. And it isnow second and goal from the two,

(23:48):
and it looked like the usual suspectsin there for Oa Claire North, Taylor
Frederick and others making the tackle. And this is the thing Frederick needs to
do. He needs to kind ofhype up this defense. It looks like
that's he's doing right now, he'skind of clapping. He's kind of trying
to get everyone warmed up, becauseright now it's like they're all asleep,
especially when they're trying to get tothat running back. No one's really cutting
out of their stances in time.Unbalanced line. Shaffer gets the toss,

(24:11):
he lowers his shoulder and booms rightup in the middle for the Monomonee touchdown.
He bowled over Frederick and on thatplay into the end zone. Two
your touchdown run for Steel Shaffer. He is now up to twelve touchdowns tom
this season, and it is nowfourteen to nothing Monomie and Steel Shaffer.
I can't say enough about this guy. He's just fast. He kind of

(24:33):
has a little bit of cam Olsonin him too, where he's kind of
just able to bowl over people.Despite his stature and size, he's still
very quick. You cannot let himget into open space because he will make
a move and will make you payfor making the wrong decision. Here.
So a touchdown run again, thisone for Shaffer. They will once again
go for two of the must sangsand it is a fake run. They'll

(24:56):
roll out here while Johnson, hethrows to the back of the end zone.
That is caught in the back ofthe end zone by Manominees Charlie Baron,
and it is sixteen to nothing,Monominee. Off to the Bloods here
two oh three left to play inthe first corner on the Auto Kings scoreboard.
Sixteen nothing monomone with the lead backafter this right, You're on Classic
Rock ninety two one. This isoh clear high school football on Classic Rock

(25:19):
ninety two one. Let's use afootball metaphor in your home. You're in
the quarterback now, who would youwant in your front pine assphault, No,
the fearsome form rain, hail, wind and snow and blow right through
an assphall line. For real protection, you want be Yorks frand Metal Roofie

(25:41):
because hit after hit, year afteryear, Yorks frand Metal Roofing will keep
you protected with a fifty year nonpro rated end transferable warranty two three seven,
twenty six seventy eight. Your homefor the Huskies is Classic Rock ninety
two one. Welcome back in heretoo, Monomonie, as the Mustangs have

(26:06):
gotten out to a massive lead hereon North, sixteen to nothing, two
oh three left to go on thefirst quarter in Monomonie is, as you
said Dan before, is cutting throughthe North defense like a hot knife throw.
Butter and Huskies have not really putup much of resistance so far.
They've had two drives, one ofthree and out in a punt and one
that ended on fourth down as well. It's a short kick though for Menominee

(26:26):
taken over the far sideline by Gertzat about the fifteen yard line, brings
it to the near sideline, hasa blocker in front of him at the
down the near sideline across the fortyfive and a pretty good return there.
In fact, they're gonna mark him, say touch and stepped out of mounds
at the forty three yard line.So a good return, good field position.
And like we said before last Northdrive, we said they gotta get
something going, and now it's evenmore urgency, even though we're still in

(26:48):
the first quarter. It almost see, it almost feels dire at this point
because now if you give back Monomniethat ball, there's a chance they could
go back up twenty four nothing, maybe even twenty nothing. Who knows at
this point, especially with how wherethey're with where they're all on the field,
you'd hope this would kind of givethem a little bit of momentum,
hopefully give a little a little bitof juice that they're lacking right now.

(27:10):
Mccracking back in at quarterback. Andone thing we didn't see on that three
and out drive was cam Olson touchedthe ball and I'd imagine he will here
he's in the pistol formation. Theygive it to him up the gut,
he goes, he pulls a defenderacross the forty five forty seven yard line
is where they will give him forwardprogress to Rodie Thornton in on the stop
and a second and six coming uphere for the Huskies. And that's the
great thing about having a guy likecam Olson. He will drag defenders even

(27:34):
when he should have been stopped formaybe a yard or two. He's gonna
keep running. He turns his legsand the thing is you need to get
in front of him. You cannotgrab him from behind because there is always
a chance that he just breaks rightoff that tackle. One twenty five left
to go here in quarter number one, sixteen to nothing, Manominee with the
lead north and no hurry, andthey don't really have to be it's the
first quarter, but no real urgencyin that huddle. They're just going back

(27:57):
to the huddle, getting that playin. Two receivers left, one right,
another hand off to Olson up thegut had a hole. It closed
up quickly. Shaffer up top onthe tackle. He was hit underneath as
well. He'll get a gain ofmaybe two to the forty nine yard line.
And Shaffer. I know everyone saysdual threat and they always meet a
quarterback. But Shaffer here, goodlinebacker and a great running back here.

(28:21):
And he's really showing himself out tonightbecause he's He's build multiple holes there by
just being able to be in theright spot, be at the right be
at the right moment. He's quick, he's fast, he's ready to hit
hard. Especially when you're going upagainst a guy that is as big as
Cam Olson. You need to beable to hit hard and stop him in
his place. You certainly do.It. Is McCracken again in the shotgun.

(28:41):
Two receivers right, one left, ball in the near Ashmark takes the
snap, looks to go deep nowhe will roll out to his right.
He throws downfield. There is nobodythere that is incomplete, no one grounding
there. It was Jensen, whowas the closest one to it. I
think he wanted to go deep thoughmaybe for Carter Burns down field, but
it was well covered field once againby steel Shaffer. I cannot say enough

(29:03):
about that guy. But Carter Burns, he did get open for a split
second. But the only issue isthis Manominee defense was able to get down
get some pressure in twenty one secondsremaining here and Dan, this is a
play at This is a moment herethat reeks a little bit of desperation because
sixteen and nothing Monomonie and all ofa sudden North is going for it and

(29:25):
we're not even out of the firstquarter yet and they are not. They're
on the wrong side of the fiftyyard line. They need to get to
the Monomenie forty seven. On fourthand four. Two receivers left, one
right, Monomonie showing blitz. They'llbring it throw over to the near side.
Up goes Jensen. What a catch. That is the tight end with
the strong hands as he goes rightup on Ray Pember to make the catch

(29:45):
at a first down to the Monomieforty four yard line. Absolutely insane catch,
especially near the Stix McCracken had tobe almost perfect on that ball to
get him right on that money there, especially since the way this Monomonie defense
has always lurked around every single receiver. Just a great job by mccracking getting
the right readdown and then a greatjob just fitting the ball in there to

(30:06):
Jensen. So that is the endof the first quarter. Jensen converts on
the fourth down, so North we'llhave the ball first and ten a them
nominee forty four down, sixteen andnothing when we come back for the second
quarter. Right after this on ClassicRock ninety two one, this is oh
clear high school football. On ClassicRock ninety two one, I was down

(30:29):
on my luck. My car wasa piece of Luckily. I found Hoto
King. Otto King showed me thatthey drew me kid. I went down
to Bird Street and uh, Claire, my god, a great deal.
The lowest of the Yeah, MotoKing is the only way to go.

(30:56):
Your home for the Huskies is ClassicRock ninety two one. And welcome back
in here to Williams Stadium. Asa T shirt cannon has shown up here.
That's that's how exciting homecoming is herein Monomonie. Of the T shirt
cannon going off and uh, havingsome fun with the students here in an
eye velocity too. That's those pointsthey could take an eye out right there,

(31:18):
just throwing him into the crowd.Sixteen nothing Monomonie with the leader as
we get said to start the secondquarter north with the ball here at the
monomnie forty four first in ten andmccracking handoff and a counter to Olson.
He's got to hold up the middle, dragging defenders across the forty across the
thirty five. He's got first downyardage up to the thirty four yard line.
And that is a cam Olson specialjust with that strength conditioning in the

(31:40):
weight room there it is ten yards. Yeah, he really showed them homni
linebackers who who's really into the whoreally needs to get into the weight room
because man, he was dragging peopleall across the field there and something else.
And No, I would like tosee what they do in the second
quarter, because we saw this lasttime against Chippo and they kind of started
slow and they got some momentum inthat second quarter. Let's see what they
kind of get going here. Sixseen nothing monominee early second quarter. Four

(32:04):
receivers at high snap. They giveit to Olson. Can he bounce out
of it? Yes, to theright side, and he gets hit down
near the thirty yard line. Tacklemade by Walker Ferguson who hit him.
But again another sort of botch snap, and Olson still makes something out enough
in there to get four yards. Some say it's some luck, some say
it's improvisation. Either way, hewas able to gain a good five yards

(32:24):
out of something that maybe should havebeen stopped right at the line, dead
right there, and a great hitby Walker. By the way, he
really took Cam off the legs. There By my tally's sixty seven yards rushing
for Cam Olson. Tonight already tworeceivers right, two left here for mccrack
and they will bring the blitz. He's gonna throw to the near side.
That is up and incomplete. Waslooking for streaking down field there Aaron Solberg.

(32:46):
There were two defenders. One wasa linebacker and Shafer was one of
those guys. But he got released. The timing just off that throws a
little better. There might be achance for a touchdown. Oh yeah,
I was about to say the sameexact thing. Right there. He had
him, He had him. Hewas right there and that looked like a
clean touchdown. But mccrack and stillgot that nerves that feels like he's missed

(33:07):
one before. He overthrew him beforehe overthrew now whoever that was sober and
Solberg? Yeah, I had hisname right in my mouth, but I
I just couldn't think of it.It's interesting because Schaeffer was there and he
split the defenders. I almost lookedlike he got held up a little bit
on that route. No flag though, on the field. Third and six
here for mccrack and, rolling rightback to pass looking down field, he

(33:28):
will throw this one away as hehad pressure in his space. One of
the defensive linemen here for the Mustangs. That was Parker Jacob's putting the pressure
on fourth and six now from theMustang thirty yard line. And again i'd
imagine this is another situation with tenforty six in the second down, two
touchdowns, you gotta go for it. Oh yeah, definitely right now,
And I mean you still have timeeven if you don't get this. But

(33:51):
the way that Minami's been able torun on offense, you almost want to
keep their offense off the field andstress out this defense as much as possible,
especially considering how Schaeffer plays on bothsides here, so two receivers right,
one to the left. The manwho's all on his own out to
this edge is Travian Johnson and nowwhistling a time out as Matt McGinnis did
not like the set up there. One fourth and six. They need a

(34:13):
twenty four yard line for a firstdown and or trying to get there.
Ten forty six left to go.Second Quarterman nominee sixteen north nothing. Let's
take a quick look around the AutoKing out of Town scoreboard huts it up
already thirteen to nothing with three minutesleft to go in the first quarter at
Carson Park against O Claire Memorial,New Richmond with a twelve nothing and they're

(34:34):
looking like they might go in foranother score here. I don't see a
signal yet. Seven ten left togo in the second quarter. They're knocking
on the doorstep are the Richmond Tigers. Twelve nothing? They lead over Chippewa
and right now up in Superior RiverFalls and Superior have no score with six
twenty left to go in the secondquarter of that matchup. So that's your

(34:57):
Auto King out of Town scoreboard. We'll keep you up to date as best
we can throughout the night and wetalked about this. This matchup could have
major implications on especially seating playoff contention. Both of these teams want to make
it back. Both of these teamswant to make a splash. Neither had
the best year last year, butthey're really trying to get back into it
now. North is likely one winaway from getting into the playoffs, which

(35:19):
has been a long playoff drought there. But they made a lot of worker
mccracking back to pass on forked down, he's wrapped up and sacked and that
will be a big turner over ondowns. Was it Shaper again? I
mean, this dude is having it. I mean he might be having the
game of his life right now.Oh yeah, he's playing with some kind
of other intensity. I don't knowwhere he's getting this magic in this power

(35:42):
from Wow. Has he been flyingaround the field, especially on that one
he went right through a blocker toget that sack. He literally pushed his
arm with one hand and just rippedthrough with the other one and just grab
mccrack and buy the jersey and wasrefusing to let go until he had him
on the ground. That's the kindof stuff you don't teach. That's the
kind of stuff that's kind of builtin you. That's the kind of mentality

(36:04):
you need to have if you're gonnabeat an old Claire North team like this.
Ten forty one remains here in thesecond quarter, North turns it over
on downs for the second time heretonight, and about the same spot on
the field as well, right aroundthe thirty yard line. Monominee will go
back on offense here. Johnson willgive it to the tailback, one of
his backup tailbacks. Again, they'vebeen kind of do are running by committee

(36:25):
a bit tonight. That's Jack Trout. He'll get up to the thirty seven
yard line, gain of two andagain giving Shaffer a little bit of arrest
after he made that sack to endthe drive for the Huskies. A little
bit of a reward, as youcan call it. But just a great
job by this Monominee team. Itdoesn't matter who that running back isn't there,

(36:45):
they're still able to get yards andit seems like they shouldn't be able
to. It seems like Steel Shaffershould be that guy. However, they're
able to just kind of gut thisold Claire North defense. On that run
game, Drought will stay in asa tailback fullback offset right send of a
receiver in motion. They'll give itto Drown on a pitch out to the
right side, North chasing him downand they will get there. Frederick gets

(37:06):
there after a gain of maybe ayard, and that will be a great,
great shop by Frederick to get thereafter one yard. Game third and
seven, Now for the Mustang, and Frederick says, pumped, He's kind
of going. He was going around, slapping hands. He kind of just
pushed him off to the side andwas just running around. This is the
kind of intensity you need to seeif you want to be if you want
this Oaklare North team to win.If you're a fan of this team,

(37:27):
you love seeing that. That's oneof those show me plays, right.
I think Manominee sat there and said, hey, we're faster than that team.
Why don't we just run it offon the big side of the field
from the far hatch to the nearsideline. I don't think they can catch
us. Frederick caught him. That'sthe kind of plays that you need on
defense for North. Now a newchange here, basically a whole line change
in the skill players shaper into thegame as well, whistling a time out.

(37:49):
The play clock was ticking down andMike Sins wants to talk about a
third and seven for Manominy up sixteento nothing, nine to twelve, left
to go. Second quarter that comesyour way right after this here on Classic
one. This is ou Claire HighSchool football on Classic Rock ninety two one.
It's full furnace check in, cleantime, preventative maintenance on your heating

(38:12):
system is worth it and whether it'sboilers, furnaces, or heat pumps.
Whereas Gulla Heating and Plumbing services mostmakes and models. Whereas Gulla Heating and
Plumbing is provided quality, dependable serviceto the Chippewa Valley and surrounding areas for
over a half century. Whereascala willmake sure your heating system is ready for
the cold ahead call or visit.Whereas Gala dot Com against company. Your

(38:40):
home for the Huskies is Classic Rockninety two one. Back out of the
time out, third and seven comingup for a menomine nine twelve up to
go second quarter of the Mustangs leadingsixteen to nothing over oau Claire North Ball
at their own thirty nine yard lineand what has been a dominant performance so
far from anomine of what we thoughtwas gonna be a pretty evenly matched game.

(39:01):
North has not been able to matchthe energy on homecoming night here at
Phenomena and by the Mustangs, socome out well. Is now back to
Pasco's Johnson looks over the middle, throws it downfield. It is tipped incomplete.
I wonder if that ball was actuallyintended for Charlie Baron. Brody Thornton
got his hands on it on theunder route and it was a little bit

(39:21):
of the in between ball. Itends up being an incompletion and North for
the first time to night is goingto force a punt, and that's what
you love to see if you're ohClaire North. You guys helped strong and
with a strong arm quarterback like BradyJohnson, you forced the incompletion. Almost
was a turnover. Actually there wasalmost a tip drill pick right there if
it would have gone there, ifit would have landed their way. However,
a great job by Oh Claire Northto kind of contain that they didn't

(39:44):
allow any big runs like we wereseeing in that first quarter, and they're
kind of trying to wake up rightnow, Dingwald to punt, it's Girts
back to return. He stands athis own twenty eight yard line. Dingwall
stands at his own twenty three.I got that spread kind of punt formation,
and the punt will go away. That is a great spiraler. It'll
be taken by Girts at about thetwenty six. Makes him move to the

(40:04):
right across the thirty spun down aboutthe thirty two, maybe the thirty three.
We'll call that about a six sevenyard return. Four Girts on the
play and North takes over the fiftyeight left to go second quarter down sixteen
to nothing to Monomonie. And thatwas a great job by that kicking team
there. For the Mustangs, they'vebeen doing that. They've been doing.
They've been holding some great containment otherthan that one kick return that got the
old Claire North team to the fortyfive. However, Minomnie just flying with

(40:30):
that great, great, great power, just like zooming down the field.
They want to make a hit, they want to land a blow. Let's
see if Oak Claire North can kindof get something going after it's such a
great stop there. On defense,Peydon McCracken comes back out as the quarterback
again. He's got cam Olson offto his left. Olsen's had a good
night so far, sixty seven yardson the ground. It's been the one
bright spot. He'll take the handoffagain, countering right, and Monomenie is

(40:52):
in the backfield for a loss. They get to the thirty one yard line
per four and progress not much more. The penetration on the play came from
Brody Thornton. It's a two yardlost second and twelve and Pete, I
think they may have heard you onthat one, because they were all ready
for that run. Almost immediately theyact. They had like three red not

(41:12):
red, but maroon. Three maroonjerseys look colored black, three maroon Jerseysnoma
will get upset with you. Nobodyelse will. I don't think anybody back
in oh Claire will. But tworeceivers left, one right here on the
far hash mark for mccracking in theshotgun formation. It is a give to
Olsen countering right, bounces out tothe thirty five, just following blockers around
the edge across the forty. He'sclose to the first down an eleven yard

(41:35):
game when they were backed up.And now third and one coming up here
for the Huskies, and it didn'tlook like much right away. They had
all the holes covered up there. But cam Olson does that thing where he's
has great awareness and will just bounceout if he doesn't see what what he
likes, if he doesn't know hecan run through someone, he will bounce
out and he will use his speedto kind of get around defenders and will
make them pay for letting him runthrough that. You know, he's a

(41:58):
great combo back. I mean,he's five foot eight, two hundred pounds.
He can bull guys over, buthe also has some really good speed
when he gets out around the edgethird and one, and sure enough they
give it to Olson again, rightup the gut, pushing the pile rugby
scrum style and he's got the firstdown to the forty five yard line.
Nice run on that one for threein a first down here for the Huskies,

(42:19):
And even that one looked like itshould have been stopped in the backfield
too. But he's such a shiftyand elusive runner all while being a two
hundred pound absolute unit of a guythat just will run through everyone. He
can also find and pick his waythrough that through the offensive line and find
kind of what hole he wants togo down and then just run his way
right through there. Yeah, he'san impressive back for sure, and it's

(42:40):
nice when even you're in third andshort situations, you feel like if you
give the ball to him, feelpretty confident he's gonna convert him. Sixteen
nothing but nominee seven O nine leftto go. Second quarter, first and
ten for the Huskies at their ownforty five far hash another give to Olson
right side, could get past thefirst level, not quite. He gets
to the forty eight yard line afterbeing fun down by the defensive back.

(43:01):
Four of the Mustangs are in cageSorenson and he'll get about four on first
down to the party three to theforty eight yard liners. And that was
a great job by the linebackers too, kind of opening it up for Sorenson
to make that tackle right there. They filled up the rest of those holes
and kind of let them let Sorensongo make the one on one to play

(43:21):
with Olson. And while Olson pickedup some more yards, it could have
been worse. He could have goneflying down that field because there was a
hole for a bit, but itgot closed up quickly of by Sorenson.
Second and seven here for Beauclare North, six twenty four left to go in
the quarter. It's clock ticking down. Fake the handoff, mccracking out to
his left to throw for Jensen incompletepressure in the backfield there for monominee,

(43:43):
and once again Thornton was the guyback and he was trying to get it
out to Jensen the right idea, but that pressure just through the entire timing
of that playoff. And Thornton,no matter where he's been able to line
up tonight, he's just been beatingevery line, every lineman off that bounce,
being able to just shoot off likea in it and just block with
one go like rip through with onearm and just be able to go make

(44:04):
a play on defense with the other. Great job by Thornton. Let's see
what they can draw up here.Let's see what McGinnis has come in this
way by my count, mccrack andtwo of seven tonight for just yards through
the air. Two receivers to theleft, one to the right, third
and seven takes a snap. They'rebringing pressure again, throws it in the
near side. That one is caughtat the forty yard line. North has
a first down caught on the nearsigned by Burns and a big gain out

(44:27):
to the forty yard line here forus, and Burns is talking his talk
out there too. He's like, about time I got that ball, About
time I'm running forward. He canhere's the thing. You get him in
open space and this guy can gomake a play. I would like to
see them do a little bit moreopen field plays for him, maybe a
screen, maybe something else to kindof get him out there and be able
to make more of a bigger play. But a great job by him to

(44:50):
kind of sit in that zone, grab that grab that perfect ball by mccrackin
move he was getting rushed. Yeah, the more that you throw that you
run with Olsen, the more ofthat passing game's gonna open up. Monominee
bringing the blitz again. They thrownear side, Burns catches it at the
thirty five trying to make a move. Can he break a tackle? He
reached out, didn't need to there, but didn't fumble it. He's tackled
after about a six yard game tothe thirty four yard line on I'm sure

(45:15):
played that. The coach McGinnis isgonna talk to him upon on the sideline
eventually. Yeah, I was aboutto say McGinness might choo his ear off
on that one. We'll have today. We'll just have to see. But
that was a great job by Burns. He almost broke out of a two
person tackle there. He was kindof swinging his back around that side and
had a little bit of room there. Just couldn't really get off that,
mainly because it's two people tackle likeit's gonna be hard. Cage shortensent in

(45:37):
on the tackle there. Two receiversleft too, right here again, and
they'll give it to Olson running left, trying to bounce out of this one,
Gonna get it right back to theoriginal line of scrimmage. They're gonna
mark this a one yard loss yet, Okay, all right, under five
minutes left to go. It'll bethird and five now on the loss for
Olson sixteen. Nothing monominee here inthe second quarter. I was gonna say,
it looks like he kind of gotback to the line on that one.

(45:58):
But I'm not a referee. Idon't I'm not down there on the
fields. Yeah, I mean it'sit's not you know, it's one yard,
so it's not the end of theworld. But I mean, clearly
had at least another yard of forwardprogress there, but nonetheless third and five
now from the Monominee thirty five yardline. Manominee's brought pressure on almost every
snap in this drive. Four thirtyleft to play here in the second A
whistling of time out for Mike Sinsand the Mustangs as they want to talk

(46:22):
about the setup once again. Soboth teams down to just one time out
left here in the second quarter.Manomonie leading sixteen to nothing on our Auto
Kings scoreboard. It's a quick lookaround the Big Rivers conference two oh three
left to go second quarter River Falls, but they seven nothing lead on Superior.
River Falls is driving into the redzone of Superior at the moment.

(46:43):
Chippuwa, I shouldn't say New Richmond, rather has a big lead at last
check there up nineteen to nothing onChippewa, and we'll see if we get
not. Nineteen to seven now isthe scoreline there, New Richmond with the
lead on Chippa. At three twentyeight left to go in the second quarter,
it's all Hudson in Claire, theHudson Raiders leading twenty to nothing over
Memorial and still eleven minutes thirty sixseconds left to go in the second quarter

(47:07):
of that game. So that isyour Ano King out of town scoreboards,
sixteen nothing Monomonie with the lead.Dan, you got a third and five
here for North. They've seen alittle bit of success through the air here
on those passes to Burns. They'vegot some good receivers. You know.
I'm sure Monomonie's probably thinking about anOlsen run here, and if they do,

(47:27):
maybe something opens up in the passinggame or even like a play action
play here to kind of draw thatMonomnie team inwards and maybe get some slants
going on that outside. You havefast players, as you said, but
I think they may be going toBrady Jensen on this one. They've been
going to him alan on third downhere. Yeah, he's been kind of
the go to guy for mccracket whostays in a quarterback. Three receivers go

(47:47):
left, including Jensen offset the lineon the right side is Travian Johnson's back
to past McCracken here comes to pressure. He goes for Johnson. That has
caught at the fifteen ten five touchdownHuskies. What a pass from McCracken.
What a catch in stride for Johnsonand the Huskies get the touchdown, making

(48:09):
sixteen to six. But nomine withthe league, and that's what I'm talking
about. Peyton McCracken. You needto keep making those throws. That one
was beautiful. We saw a playearlier like that that was gonna go to
TJ as well, almost a similarkind of play style, A little double
move upfront and Tchick was just offand just zooming. Peyton McCracken bled it

(48:29):
right on the hands. Just abeautiful job there. Extra point up at
good for North sixteen to seven.Whominie Leagues for twenty one left to go
second quarterback after this right here onClassic Rock ninety two one. This is
so clear high school football on ClassicRock. Martin Transport, a family oriented

Your home for the Huskies is classicrock ye Elman Dominie now leading just sixteen
to seven year over ou Clare North. North whoes in on a nine place
sixty seven yard drive that took justover four minutes, and now North is

(49:38):
on the board. We've got aballgame. Sixteen to seven, Monomie leads
four twenty one left to go.Dan an impressive drive there from the Huskies,
especially through the air. Oh yeah, I'm Peyton McCracken looked like he
had a little bit of nerves cominginto this game. I mean, who
wouldn't. This is kind of akind of a big deal between these two
teams who have such a history together. But Peyton kind of really settled down

(49:58):
on this drive. You could seethat poise that I was talking about whenever
I usually see him on the field, and just a great job just making
some accurate passes there. Sixty threeyards through the air for him. Now
now bobble back at the six yardline here for Mohenominie. Now they scoop
it up and North can they containthem? Yes they can. Back at
the fifteen yard line. Girtz onthe tackle of the returner in James Hoff

(50:20):
and not good field position here forMonominie is there was some confusion between the
two returners on who was going tograb that ball right in the middle of
the hash mark. And especially here'sthe thing about Oakland Or that really should
have been stopped by the five yardline. They had him there. The
only issue is you keep seeing thosearm tackles, especially here on special teams.
I don't know, I don't rememberwho it was that had the initial

(50:40):
hit on him, but he reachedhis arms full length out and tried to
make a grab on the jersey. And you just cannot do that if you're
against a Monomnie team that's gonna justrun through that north with a late sub
to get to all eleven guys onthe field. They'll run it left side
across the twenty up near the twentytwo yard line, goes the carry for
John Higbee. Again. There'll bea gain of about seven here on first

(51:04):
down second in three, four minutesleft to go in the second Quarterman Nominee
sixteen North seventh. Yeah, reallyquick moving game here. There's still a
few games that are still in thefirst quarter, and here we are.
We're almost done. With the secondone. Yeah, this has been a
quick game. They've kept it onthe ground for the most part. The
fock's been running for most of thisJohnson, we'll give it on a counterplay
here, left side trip, butstaying on his feet across the twenty five

(51:28):
up to the twenty nine yard linegoes Brady Goodman, and Goodman with his
first run of the game to thetwenty nine yard line. We'll get a
good carry and a first down herefor them. Saying something else to note,
there has not been any turnovers betweenthese two teams. I'm thinking whichever
team can force the turnover first mightbe the team to win this game,

(51:50):
because, man, these things areplaying really clean. I don't think we've
even't seen a penalty have We arereally smart. I mean that's I think
you're right. I think first turnoverand there's gonna be a problem for one
of these squads, whoever it is. Johnson back to pass rows left and
that was not a great throw infact, undercutting the route on kind of
an out route out there was GarrettStoffel didn't have a chance at the interception,
but Thornton certainly didn't have a chanceat the catch. Second and ten.

(52:13):
Now there were three sixteen left togo in the second quarter. No,
but this Mustang offensive line has beenprotecting very well. We saw Oakleare
North get a lot of pressure onChip Will last week. Not many sacks,
still a lot of pressure in kindof forcing Arrant throws. But right
now Oakleare North needs to get somethinggoing, something pressured right in Johnson's face.
You can't let this guy get justsome wide open look down field.

(52:36):
Three receivers set two left one righthere for Johnson and the shotgun and he
would de lay hand off to shaperus hitting the backfield and dropped, dropped
at the twenty six yard line fora loss of three. And that will
be now third and long four ofthe Mustangs as we're about to take under
three minutes up to play in thefirst half. And that play was doomed
to begin with it whether it wasa pass, whether it was a run,

(52:57):
either way, there were two linebackerscoming off each side and both had
three releases. No matter what happenedthere, it was just not gonna be
a good play. So now thirdand thirteen here for the Mustangs. Their
main go to has been steel Shafferruns. He's been able to rattle off
big ones here tonight. But nowthey're gonna go with an empty backfield for
Johnson. Three receivers out right, they've got two tight ends up on the

(53:20):
line. They need to get tothe thirty nine for a first round.
Johnson back to pass, looking leftthe entire way, going to throw this
one deep. It is up andincomplete. Great job coming across is unable
to hold on to it. WasEllison, but it was Stoppa who came
over to kind of break that oneup. Incomplete. Fourth and thirteen,
and once again Manminie asked the punts. And now we're seeing this old clarin
Or defense do what they did before, not against Chipwa, but against every

(53:44):
single team they have played, notnamed Chipwa. They've been able to do
this kind of get They didn't haveany pressure. They had three men going
up forward, but the defensive backswere held strong. They didn't allow any
free releases. Usually you see someoneget kind of wide open downfield, because
that's just how if you don't haveany pressure, someone's about to get open.

(54:04):
But just a great job by keepingthe receivers out in front of them
and forcing the punt Sorenson to puntstanding at his own eleven yard line.
Girts to return standing in his ownabout forty two. This is an end
over end kick. Girts to goget it at the thirty nine, gets
it, makes him move to theforty to the forty five, gets a
block to the right side, acrossthe fifty and he is into Monomnie territory
at the forty nine yard line.A very nice returning, great field position

(54:27):
coming up here for the Mustang, and a great job by Girts there.
I almost thought he should have faircaught that because it looked like a Monomnie
Monomnie kick guy who's gonna come rightthrough and take him out by the knees.
However, Girt's fielded that ball weregreat poise, kind of calm,
calm, collected and just made amove and was able to pick up some
solid yard It's not a big return, but enough to kind of get onto

(54:50):
the Monomonie's Monomonie side of the field, or at least close to us.
So Claire North comes out on offensewith two seventeen to go in this half,
down sixteen to seven. They've gotone time out in their pocket.
McCracken with three receivers right, oneleft, He'll pitch it out to Olsen
on the right side, cuts itup at the fifty trying to get back
to the original line. They'll gethim to another forty eight. They did

(55:12):
mark him at the fifty yard lineto start this drive. The forty nine,
so two yards on the play andsecond and eighth and a play that
was kind of not really much goingtheir great containment by Menominee to keep their
linebackers at home and sell out onthe run. Had they have done a
pass there maybe something different. However, if they knew cam Olson's the lifeblood

(55:34):
of this offense and they were readyfor him. And that's one of those
plays with the spreadlight that like we'retalking about, Dad, that's that's the
one that might be setting up apass or play action coming up. Two
receivers to left, two of theright back to pass McCracken. They bring
the pressure, throws over the middleof his tight end, drops at Jensen
a little bit thrown behind him.It wasn't the best throw in the world.
I'm sure Jensen would tell you heshould have caught it would have been

(55:54):
where he caught it about a threeyard game. But he had a chance
to turn that one up field andmaybe get a first down now, especially
especially because he's such a big bodiedreceiver too, and he usually has such
sure hands to be able to grabthat ball and kind of turn up field.
However, he took his eyes offthe ball for a split second,
a split second and just looked upfield for a second. And you're not
supposed to do that as a receiver. You're supposed to wait and make sure

(56:16):
the balls in your hands and thentry and turn up field for a bit.
But the first step is always catchingthe ball. Sixteen seven monominee,
third and eight now from the fortyeight yard line. Here comes a blind
side blitz. McCracken won't get awayfrom it. He's written down back at
the Husky forty four yard line iswhere they'll mark him. That is a
loss of eight. That time outtaken by Manominie. So they can get

(56:37):
this ball back here as well, and so North is going to be forced
into a punch of their own.Not exactly the way you draw it up.
For the Huskies, who were thinkingabout a score right before the half,
all of a sudden they go backwards. They'll have to put this one
away. But you know, ina sixteen to seven game here for Monominee
with a minute twenty four left.I mean, when it was sixteen to

(56:57):
nothing, we were talking about Northwas in desperate desperation, but we thought
that this game might be over atthat point. Kind of the way the
momentum was going for this to besixteen to seven. And if North can
keep it that way and not letMonominee in again, they gotta feel relatively
good about where they're at. Ohyeah, and especially in the past,
this old Claire North team would havejust rolled over after they went down sixteen
nothing. They would have rolled overafter they went down big at Chipwoy two.

(57:21):
However, this old Claire North isshowing that they have fight, they
will fight back, and they arenot gonna just roll over and let you
just do whatever you want to them. They're gonna keep and they're gonna they're
gonna adjust, and that's something thatMcGuinness has kind of showed that is gonna
be different for this Oak Claire Northteam. They're gonna adjust and they're gonna
make the right moves here. Sothis will be a just a three play
drive of minus six yards on itfor Old Claire North, and now their

(57:46):
task is to try to pin Monomineeas deep as possible in this situation.
So they give him a long fieldwith no timeouts in just a minute and
probably about what ten fifteen seconds leftto play in this for tap, so
punting it out here for North. Two returners back for Menominee. So it
looks like they're getting set up fora return rather than a block. A

(58:08):
bit of a high snap. We'llget it away though in a good kind
of swabbling spiral will be received atthe eighteen yard line. They'll fake the
reverse North. Did they buy iton it a bit? They got some
blocks here to the thirty near sideline, forty down the sideline to the fifty.
There's a cutback here. Four goodmandown the sideline. He's taken down
in North territory at the thirty threeyard line. No flegs on the field,

(58:32):
and the fake reverse with those tworeceivers back there worked to perfection.
Oh yeah, beautiful job there, and you know he was You know,
the Monomie Quach is gonna have somevery big, very big plays, especially
trick plays to kind of throw offthis Oak Claire team. That has been
generally pretty smart about this. Butit's kind of hard, especially when you

(58:52):
have such a kind of weaker specialteams unit, to be able to cover
all this ground, especially when youhave two returners back there. That's the
beauty about having two of them backthere is to be able to do trick
plays like that. We always sawthat elk mound back when I was in
Colfax, and they would do thattoo, and they'd run it to perfection.
You'd wonder if you'd see more teamsdo that now, Yeah, Johnson,

(59:13):
Now in the shotgun, three receiversup all the thirty three of North.
They'll give it to Schaffer trying tobounce it out on the left edge.
North has it contained pretty well, but they break a tackle and get
to about the twenty five yard lineand there's that arm tackling you were talking
about, Dan. I mean, that should have been a you know,
maybe a three yard game, fouryard game. It ends up being an
eight yard game for Shaffer. Andthat's the issue there. You need to

(59:34):
drive through the body, especially ifShaffer. Shafer is gonna break through every
single arm tackle that you throw athim. He's not gonna go down just
with someone grabbing his jersey. He'sgonna run through that. He's a fast,
strong runner. He's not someone that'sgonna roll over either. Shafer with
two touchdown runs to nine. He'sup to sixty one yards rushing on the
evening as well. Second and twohere from the north on twenty five yard

(59:59):
line. I did stop when hegot out of bound. So we're right
at one minute, and there wasa false start. There's got to be
a flag there. They'll put itback to one minute. I believe on
that far side it was Brady Goodman. First flag of the game. No,
uh, microphone on Josh Klinger, the head referee tonight, so we'll
we'll relay that on Sorry Dan Oh, you're all good. Yeah. The

(01:00:21):
thing you hate to see that, especially as your offense has been gaining momentum
like this, to finally just goback five yards and being the first penalty
of the game is such a heartbreaker. That's how you know it's a high
school game, not a college game. They'll keep the clock at fifty nine
seconds. They rolled the second offcollege game. They would not They would
not be all right with that.Put it back to a minute. That
second matters certainly. I'm sure aright two receivers left, one right here

(01:00:44):
for Johnson and the shotgun on thefar hatch. Sixteen to seven monominee leads
here were the minute left to playand another whistle and another false start,
and I don't think they're going toreset the clock again as they were in
two more seconds off that'll back himup another five yards. No, And
that's that's now twice and back toback plays that the Mustangs have been called
for an off side's here. I'mguessing that the refs haven't been really looking

(01:01:07):
at this because both teams have beengenuinely pretty clean. But now on this
drive they're kind of realizing, oh, maybe they're lining up off side.
This is a it's a different formation. They've got kind of two receivers.
They're not stacked, but they're veryclose to each other on that short side,
the far side of the field. And I think both times it's been
Goodman over there, the receiver who'sjust you know, hesitatedus given a little

(01:01:27):
head nod over there, and that'senough. Right in from me, he's
only about what ten feet away fromthe line judge over there is now back
to Pasco's Johnson wants to throw thisone deep on the far side there.
It is caught by Goodman and hemakes up for it because that's first down.
The yardage they catch maybe the twentytwo yard line and a thirteen yard
pass at the first down, andthat was a clean comeback route from Goodman

(01:01:49):
there too. Absolutely sold the soldthe corner on that far left side and
was able to just cut right backinside really quickly, kind of sit,
sit down towards like sticks and sitdown, grab the ball and then go
right out of bounds as a pristine, perfect play. Yeah, they're using
that sideline. Well here it's stillon just fifty two seconds remaining. As
they had it out to shape up. They got a huge hold of the

(01:02:10):
fifteen cuts it at the ten, looking for the corner on the angle of
the end zone. Touchdown, Mustangstwo yard touchdown run for an nominee.
They not only twenty two to sevenover north with forty four seconds left to
go, and just a great jobby steel Shaffer to take the top off
the defense with that run. Absolutely, he kind of hesitated towards the beginning

(01:02:34):
and was looking around for a holeto go to, but then bam,
that hole opened up with those offensivelinemen finally getting to their spots and kind
of giving absolutely a great angle forSteel who kind of went slow and then
just took off and no one wasready for him to go zooming. As
they're going to line up in thetwo point conversion stance here that they are,
and I'll tell you what that drivetaking a total of twenty three seconds

(01:02:59):
to get in for the touchdown. They will give it on a Noah handoff.
They look like they were going togive a counter handoff. Now Johnson
just gonna run with it and hegets into the end zone. No,
he fumbled, but he did breakthe plane before the fumble happens. So
the two point conversion good on thequarterback keeper for Brady Johnson and a twenty
four seven lead form nominee with fortyfour seconds remaining of the second quarterback after

(01:03:19):
this on Classic Rock ninety two one, this is so clear high school football.

and welcome back in here to WilliamStadium. Not only is it homecoming night
and all the media and dignitaries herein Monomie are. All the drones are
out as well. A little droneshots that were happening on that last drive.
I'm sure they've got a pretty goodone because a massive hole opening up
for steel Shaper for his third touchdownrun of the ball game. He is

(01:04:26):
now up to eighty three yards inthe contest rushing and three touchdowns for him.
And it's a twenty four to sevenlead here for Monominee over Eau Claire
North as we get into late momentsof this second quarter, Yeah, and
you kind of need ou Claire Northto kind of pick up the slack here,

(01:04:49):
and especially now that they're gonna bedown seventeen points here, you need
to get the score going on thisdrive, all right, So the return
coming here for North on the farsideline. This is Girt looking for a
lane. He gets across the thirtyand he will move up to about the
thirty three yard line with thirty eightseconds left to go. Will nor to
try anything here? I think that'sone of the questions we have, I

(01:05:12):
mean throughout the rest of this contest. So three yard line in Christen,
thirty three yard line is where Northwill start off. And I got just
thirty eight seconds remaining here in thehalf. I'll see if they take a
shot or two no timeouts form nominee. Again, you're down twenty four to
seven. So at some point,I mean, you're gonna have to go

(01:05:33):
for it. Maybe in the secondhalf, maybe they want to make the
adjustments. We'll see what the caseis. Yeah, and especially here,
you're gonna need to get some oddYou're gonna need to get a pass or
two going, especially along the outsideroutes kind of like I gotta whistle.
Was that a kneel down? Idon't think it was, or was it?
I guess it was? Well, never mind, we got a kneel

(01:05:55):
down, and I think that's ithere for the half of an interesting,
interesting move. You could have easilyprobably had driven down the field bad.
I guess they don't want to giveit back to Monomnie and have potentially what
happened last time. Going again. It's interesting because North is not going to
get the ball to start the secondhalf. Monominee. We'll get the ball
to start the second half. Sothat is something to look for here as

(01:06:16):
well when we get to the startof half number two, so the clock
will tick down. That is theend of half number one, twenty four
to seven, Menomonie with the leadon Oak Clare North. You're on homecoming
four of the Mustangs. Indeed itis, and you are here listening to
North Husky's football against Monomenie here inMenomonie on homecoming night. Pete Knutson and

(01:06:39):
Dan zons with you to have priceback in studio halftime twenty four to seven
Monomonie with the lead on Oak ClaireNorth. And we'll get to the out
of town scoreboard brought to you byOtto King in just a second. But
this game early on Dan early scoresfrom Monominee. I mean they went up
sixteen to nothing with two oh threeleft to go in the first core or

(01:07:00):
Steele. Shaffer was running out ofhis mind at that point, had two
touchdown runs, sixteen and nothing. You thought this game was almost over,
but O Blair North came back witha nice drive at the beginning of the
fourth quarter and they would go infrom about sixty seven yard drive nine plays,
thirty five yard touchdown pass from mccrackinto Travian Johnson, making sixteen to

(01:07:20):
seven. But that drive that onlytook twenty three seconds right near the end
of the half, that scored anothertouchdown for Monominee rather kind of a backbreaker.
The twenty two yard touch down runagain from Steel Shaffer. Three touchdowns
for him in the first half, four Monomie and eighty three yards on the
ground. He was impressive in thatfirst half. And Mnominie's gonna get the

(01:07:42):
ball here to start, So onceagain we're back into that back against the
wall. North's gotta make some playsearly in this first half or second half
rather if they want to get backinto it. Yeah, definitely. It's
all gonna start with that ground gamewith Cambells and he's been looking great to
this uh so far this game nowmuch from the other bits of the offense,
mccrack and finally start getting his feetunder him before kind of like getting
some early connection with Burns. Theyobviously had that connection with Brady Jensen too.

(01:08:06):
He's kind of been that safety blanketfor mccrack and two. And they're
gonna need to keep up that samemomentum. They had something going there towards
the end of the half and Ithought maybe they could probably put together something
and score and keep it a relativelyclose game. But what they really need
to do is keep that Monomonnie offenseoff the field, because wow, have
they been running out of their minds. And it's not even just it's not

(01:08:28):
even just Shaffer either. They're mixingup multiple running backs into that formation,
running backs but are usually known aslike fullbacks on a usual game that are
just getting these random ten yard chunkplays, just absolutely gashing this Oakleare North
defense that we definitely need to rallyup and kind of get a hold on
that. Yeah, I mean spendthe offensive line right, we were talking
about it here during the halftime break. The offensive line for Menomonie has been

(01:08:53):
so good as they lead twenty fourto seven here, and I mean they've
been opened up big holes. Theone guy we haven't really talked too much
about, Noah Penneger, right, that's the guy that we have seen make
so many plays at the line onthe defense from North. I mean I
haven't called his name once. Maybehe's been in on a tackle, a
half tackle here or there, butthey have really isolated him. I think
they singled him out as the guythat they got to stop if they want

(01:09:15):
to have running success or double teamin him, whatever it might be.
And he has not had any kindof penetration against this offensive line for Menomonie.
He's maybe gotten in on like oneor two tackles, but he's never
really been able to kind of closeup that any of the wholes. Manomnie's
been doing a great job. Itlooks like they've been either double teaming him
or kind of like moving him awayfrom the play and then getting Shafer in

(01:09:35):
on those easy just drives to themiddle of the field. And that's kind
of the thing that Oakleare North hasto start kind of doing too. They're
letting they're not getting they're not lettingPeyton mccrack and kind of get that kind
of feel for the game. They'renot letting Campbelson kind of really gel at
least not for not recently here McCrackengot knocked down by Thornton Lake towards the

(01:09:58):
end of the half, and manSorton had a good game too. He's
been the one, he's been oneof the multiple people on that Monomnie defensive
line that's been able to just kindof shoot up in there and just absolutely
get right into the face of thecrack. And same with actually Shaeffer too,
who he talks about being a justa dual threat guy on both sides
of the fields. Here. Youonly saw that with Travis Hunter in college,

(01:10:18):
and now you're seeing it here onthe field here with Schaeffer. Monominee
again at four and one, comingin two and one in conference play,
Oakleare North also two and one inconference play, but three and two overall.
Again, three wins in conference playtends to get you into the playoffs.
Sometimes other years, depending on alignmentsand everything, it might not,

(01:10:38):
but for the most part that usuallyis the case of Monomonie is one win
away from potentially getting in to theplayoffs or at least qualifying with a few
weeks left to play, as well, you talked about some of the other
stats. Peyton mccrack in five ofeleven for sixty three yards. He did
have the one touchdown pass a TrevianJohnson at thirty five yards at the only
score form an in that first halfcam Olson eighty three yards on the ground,

(01:11:02):
but no touchdowns as well. Halftimein oh Claire, it is a
thirty four to nothing lead for Hudsonover the Memorial Old Abs Memorial actually was
on the five yard line with afew seconds left in the quarter trying to
score their first touchdown of the game. They threw an interception on a fade
route. New Richmond has a twentyfive seven lead in Chippewa. They're at

(01:11:23):
the ten fifteen mark of the thirdquarter in that one, and they're about
seven minutes away from starting back upin Superior in River Falls has a fourteen
nothing lead in that contest. Onour Auto King out of town scoreboard.
All right, we're almost ready forthe start of the second half. No
nomine's gonna get the ball to start. I mean it's again Dan, as
you look at the keys here. You know you talked earlier about turnovers.

(01:11:45):
Neither teams turned the ball over.If North gets a turnover, I mean
things start going in the Huskies direction. But I'm sure coach McGinnis was telling
them in the halftime. I'm like, hey, strip the ball right,
go for the pick, go forsomething. Let's go a little bit all
out here. Let's leave it allon the table. Because we're down only
four to seven. We need somethingto go right. And we've seen that
against previous teams too. Usually they'rethe type of team to be ripping at

(01:12:05):
the ball because that's what mcguinnis wantsthem doing. They want he wants them
out there showing that ferocity, showingthat they're not gonna like go down willingly.
They want to get that ball outand they want to make cause turnovers.
That's usually the bread and butter withthis defense, but we're just not
really seeing it tonight. They aregetting stops. They had that great job.
They had that great stop to forcea punt by Minomnie which led to

(01:12:28):
a score. They need to getmore stops like that off or on defense
to be able to really have achance to get right back into this game,
and especially two teams that have notbeen able to have not been turning
over the ball two very smart teams, by the way, to be able
to be able to be able tokind of secure that ball with them.
But you gotta make you gotta causea turn over here if you're gonna come

(01:12:49):
back into this game. This isa perfect chance right here making those plays.
And we'll see if North is ableto do that. Kickoff is a
pretty decent one taken at the sevenyard line, the return coming up for
off off looking for following some blockersacross the twenty he'll get to the twenty
five and up to the twenty sevenyard line before he is tackled from behind
by Oak Claire North, Devon Andrew, and it will be the twenty seven

(01:13:12):
where Monomonie will start off here inthe third. And I'm gonna give a
little bit of praisier to Devin Andrewon that tackle too. He ran right
by, He ran right by thereturn on that one, but he didn't
give up. He didn't just kindof say, oh, well, he's
buying me now, I can't reallygo make a play on him. He
turned right back around and he whippedright at the returner and still made the
tackle on the play there. Actuallyhe was the main tackler he grabbed him

(01:13:33):
from behind and ripped him down. We're starting to see a little bit ferrosity
here on this oakli. Let seeif you get on thank coach McGinnis right
half time. You gotta just startchallenging the guys right get in their face.
Is there's a broken tackle for thetailback. They're gonna Rugby scrum this
one out for a first down, just pushing the pile past the thirty five
on to the thirty eight yard lineand that will be a gain of eleven

(01:13:55):
and a first down here for thetailback into the game there who I believe
was Higby again for was it Shafferwho got that carry? Nonetheless the first
down? Yeah, And just agreat job by the blocking there for the
Mustangs. And we can't talk enoughabout this offensive line who's been just absolutely
looking like they've shot out of arocket. They've been faster though, they've
been faster than their blocks, andthey've been able to create some great running

(01:14:16):
room for these running backs and droughtthe back. He'll get it again on
a pitch to the right side.On that first on spins off, a
tackler tripped up across the forty tothe forty four yard line and is a
potential game saving tackle there for OaklareNorth's Reagan crew. It and a gain
of six on the run, andVance needs to make that play. Card
advanced had him right there in hisarms ready to just drop him at the

(01:14:39):
line of scrimmage. That would havebeen a beautiful play. If you're Oaklaire
North, you really want to getthat one back. You cannot be wrapping
up. You cannot be grabbing withyour arms to make tackles like that.
You need to put your body throughthe offensive player. Second and four now
here from their own forty four yardline. Here from Whenominee under center goes,
Johnson will give it to the upback and hit at the line,

(01:15:00):
no dice, maybe a half ayard for the fullback. We saw Higbee
get a few carries in that firsthalf. There'll be no gain officially set
apartment third and third and four, and that's Taylor Frederick making that play.
He's been all over the field forthis defense. Even though they haven't been
great so far, Frederick's been ableto make some plays and that was a
great one. Because now it's athird and short, you can potentially get

(01:15:24):
the ball back if you can makea stop right here. This is the
stand you need to make if you'reOld Claire North ten twenty left to go
third quarterman nominee twenty four, OldClaire North seven. Again, that big
set with the two fullbacks offset right, and now they're gonna all go into
off balanced line and there was extramovement or was there off side here?
They're gonna off side on North.Look at that off balanced line. They

(01:15:45):
shifted the whole line, including thecenter over one position and that got North
to jump And coach McGinnis is gonnabe asking for a description here from the
officials as to why that wasn't calledthe offense. But that's just some cheeky
play there for Mike Sins. Yeah, And he's been doing that all game
long. Whether it's a whether it'sa fake on a return, whether it's

(01:16:06):
a whether it's a misdirection, whetherit's just a roundabout play. He's gonna
keep trying to do that anything toget this oak. Clare North confused as
possible. This this gave means somethingto him, and he's really showing it.
He's putting out all he's pulling allthe stops out here tonight. Yeah,
ball up to the forty nine yardline and that conversion there on the
off side, they needed four, they got five on the penalty, and

(01:16:29):
they will give it on the handoffto the tailback left side. This is
weird. Weird will bounce it outacross the forty five of Oak Claire North
to the forty two yard line. That's a nine yard game. Second and
one coming up here for the Mustangs. Frederick on the tackle, and it's
just the body language I'm seeing outthere right now. It's almost like they
just don't want to even be outthere. The only people I'm seeing that

(01:16:51):
are kind of like bouncing around aremaybe Frederick and maybe a couple of the
defensive backs that are just kind oflike trying to hype up the defense.
But otherwise everyone else's just kind oflike letting being passive. You can't do
that. That off side call,I think take a little wind out of
the sales there for North right, they had third and four looking for a
stop and or to give it upthat way. It's just that's an emotional

(01:17:12):
killer basically for North, and that'swhat happened. Johnson goes under center on
second and one. He will fakethe handoff they want the home run ball
and said it's a pass out ofthe backfield and caught down to a knee
near the thirty two yard line, goes Charlie Baron. I'll give him the
thirty two yard line in fact,And that is a first down on a
ten yard game for the Mustangs. And that was a beautiful play fake there

(01:17:34):
by Brady Johnson. He absolutely hadthat entire defense thinking it was a run
and then just turns around and throwsan absolute dart of a throw. We
haven't seen him throw a lot ofgood balls this game, however, that
one was an absolute strike. Itwas. And now first down at the
thirty two of Eau Claire North herefor Monomonee. Once again, Johnson goes

(01:17:56):
under center, Brody Johnson as Shaferis his tailback. Now let's see if
he gives it to him it's thefullback, and set up the gut to
the thirty and pulling tacklers across thetwenty five yard line to the twenty one
first down, eleven yard gain. And these are huge chunks. The Monomonie
is rattling off and they don't evenneed to really call any pass place here
because all these run plays have beenworking for them. There's no answer on

(01:18:19):
this oau Clare North defense for thisMonominee rushing attack, who's been not the
best in this conference. However, they're really they're really taking shillings out of
the oak Clare North defense, notmaking them look good. Here, Higbee
the runner there for eleven yards inthe first down to the twenty one yard
line. Eight ten left to go. Third Quartermnominee twenty four, Oak Claire

(01:18:40):
North seven again, same four mmationoffset fullbacks. They will fake, no,
they will give the handoff in factup the gut to the tailback here
in Hayden Weir and he will getup to the sixteen yard line on a
gain of five on the play.Johnson in on the tackle, but not
before that is a second and fivecoming up. I don't see Schaeffer in
at the moment for Menomonie yet,but again they no real need to have

(01:19:04):
him in at this moment here danAs they are up big and the other
running backs aren't just fine. Yeah, they've been able to gouge the heck
out of this defense, for sure. They've been able to. They've been
here's the thing, They're able togo straight up the gut and just get
five six seven yards each at everyplay or corn Earth really needs to shut
up that middle of that defense. And you're up by three scores, that's

(01:19:26):
all you really need to do iskeep doing that. Johnson with a play
fake throws to the end zone. That was a chance for an interception it
went out of bounds. If thatball had stayed inbounds, there was a
good chance for Reagan crewe it topotentially pick that one off near the goal
line. I think he was tryingto throw it away, but he didn't
really get it too part of theends or to the sideline, rather ends
up being third and five. Yeah, And I think I think he was

(01:19:46):
also like looking off the safety andtrying to see if you could get his
receiver open there and just kind ofa smart play to throw it away.
But you definitely need to throw thatover the hill there and not kind of
towards that back of the ends wherethere could be a play made by this
Oak Claire North defensive backs who arestrong and are able to make that kind
of play. Schafer back in onthird and five as a tailback. They'll

(01:20:09):
give it to him. He runsleft looking he gets hit at the line.
I don't think he got it.He gets across the fifteen to up
to thirteen. They need the elevenfor a first sound. So fourth and
two here for the Mustangs, andnow North was seven minutes left to play.
I can't imagine Monomeni's gonna kick afield goal here. This is a
chance to get it back. Imean, this is exactly what you need.

(01:20:30):
You let him go down field, but now you can have that then
not break and get the ball back. And this is where Oak Claire North
is also great on defense. They'regreat on that goal line stance, and
usually when we're seeing them on theone yard line, they're able to make
plays and able to kind of holdup that offensive attack. But right now,
this running game is so strong,so strong, so potent, that

(01:20:50):
you really need to share up yourself. This is a perfect chance for a
momentum swing. They are gonna giveit to Schaefer up the gut. He
goes he's got the first down andmore across the ten trips across the five,
and they'll give him the four yardline. There in nine yard gain
and good hole on the right sideof the formation. There in the little
pitch play back to Shaffer. Hedid enough, and it's first and goal
for the Mustange And that was agreat job again by that offensive line.

(01:21:13):
The almost could have almost gonna drovea truck right through that gap that they
made for Shafer. You gotta lovehaving an offensive line to play for you
like that. But a great jobby Shaffer finding the finding that hole and
then just taking the top off thedefense. But a solid job by oau
Claire North to kind of close downand contain and stop him right at the
five yard line. They'll run tothe line here and Johnson goes under center.

(01:21:35):
Everybody sets at the same time.On first and goal from the four
yard line, he'll roll to theright on the play fake wide open in
the end zone. The pass andcatch made and once again it's the tailback
Higbie who's gotten a lot of thecarries today. He gets the four yard
touchdown reception embhenomena. Now Leagus thirtyto seven here over Oa Claire North,
And that was a beautifully drawn upplay, beautifully drawn up plate to kind

(01:21:59):
of fake him off on not onlya double reverse, but then to just
put run have their have Johnson runout in the far right side and kind
of look and then find the wideopen receiver downfield. Great job by Johnson,
great awareness, great overall play.Four yard pass gets him in and
Menominee now takes a thirty to sevenlead. They will go for two.

(01:22:24):
I believe for a moment I thoughtthey were setting up for an extra point,
but that is not the case.Shape for the back, Johnson under
center. They'll give it to Schaffer. No, I'll keep it himself.
Rosen left wide open in the endzone for two is barren and it's now
thirty two seven monomine with the leadfive fifty left to go. Third quarterback

welcome back in once again. Hereto William Stadium at Monomonie, Wisconsin is
homecoming and the must Staying team isgiving the must staying faithful a lot to
celebrate. You're on homecoming. They'releaving thirty two to seven to five fifty
left to go third quarter. Thefirst drive of that first half or the
second half, excuse me, goessix minutes and four seconds and goes seventy

(01:23:54):
three yards for the touchdown for Menomonie. And now North needs a response,
and they need it pretty quickly ifthey want to have a chance to get
back into this game. As thedoor is starting to close on the Huskies,
goes to the near side, it'llbe scooped up by Gertz at the
ten yard line. He'll move itto the far side. Now he's got
a lane to the twenty five tothe thirty five. He goes before he

(01:24:15):
spun down kind of awkwardly by hishelmet there for a moment, there might
be a base mass tackle I believecame from Reed Paglaski. And it will
be first and ten four North attheir own thirty eight yard line and it's
now or never. And here's thething you can kind of tell from the
body language out there on the field. I know I said it before,
but I think it's especially see iton that kick return. There were people

(01:24:36):
that there could have been a hugereturn on this play. However, there
were Oaklare North players that just werenot holding their blocks. They just kind
of hit their player and then justkind of let go and fell to the
ground. But you need to getthat energy, ip if you want a
chance of getting right back into thisgame. It's not over yet. Now,
let's see how North comes out inthis second half. And once again

(01:24:56):
we're gonna see the backup quarterback andShipment running right and he's got the side
line before he gets pushed out ofbounds across the fifty up into Manominee territory
at the forty eight, I thinkis what they're gonna give him. Yeah,
that is a first down here forthe Huskies after a game of fourteen
yards on the Shipman run. Andthat's a great job by Shipman's not only
get through a tackle, but thenstart take speed, take the top off

(01:25:20):
the defense right there. Great speedby Shipman, and that's kind of what
he gives you for Old Claire North, he gives you that versatility to either
run or throw the ball. Seeif he throws here at some point three
receivers are the right, one tothe left. There might have been early
movement not called shipman. Gonna runit around the right edge over towards his
sideline there and he will get thefirst out looking him tiptoe the sideline across
the forty up to the thirty sixyard line. And that's about a game

(01:25:42):
at twelve and a first down herefor the Huskies. And let's see if
Old Claire North can take advantage ofthis kind of soft play that the Mustangs
are kind of really showing right now. They're not really they're not really kind
of giving their best effort that we'veseen so far. And they still have
their starters in This is not thisis not some different look on the Mustangs
defense. Yeah, it's all thestarters. I think you're right, not

(01:26:03):
the second team yet, it's notquite in that range. Render five minutes
left to go, third quarter, thirty two to seven, Menomonie with the
lead North. There's the first possessionof the half. It's going well.
Just the fact that Menomonie ran aloffsix minutes in that first drive. That's
kind of putting them behind the eightball. Shipman rolling right now wants to
throw toward the sideline. It isup and he caught it, I think,

(01:26:25):
but it was out of bounds,no part of me. The ball
went away. No flags on theplay. There was a shout I think
for passing our parents that was overtoward hurts again, but our burns,
excuse me. And there was aMonomonie defender in his face and didn't really
turn around for the ball there.Damn yeah, he wasn't just in his
face. He was grabbing the thingis. It's hard to call it as

(01:26:47):
a rat because it's very close.I will say held close on the ball
really quickly and almost on time withthat. But he definitely had a jersey,
a handful of jersey on that one. One receiver right, one to
the left, and this is ahandoff to Olson trying to bounce it out
on the edge and he takes ashot right at the sideline. He was
initially hit by Sorenson. I thinkit was Weir who came in and trying

(01:27:11):
to finish him off with the shoulder. He gets a yard to the thirty
five yard line. Third and ninehere for North with four twenty five remaining
in the third quarter from the Menomineethirty five yard line, and Olsen still
carried the defender on that. He'sstill running hard. It's not like he's
just taking a break there. Theyhad a defender right on him. A
great job by Menominee to contain, but a great job by cam Olson as

(01:27:31):
well to kind of just run throughthe defender and make something out of nothing
there one yard there, eighty fouryards for Olsen by my account, four
minutes left to play here in thethird quarter. Bominee thirty two North seven
two receivers left, two right.Jentsen is up lined up in the slot
to the right side of the tightend. Here for North. Shipman again
in the shotgun they will bring pressureshipping back to pass throws, this one

(01:27:54):
deep down the near sideline and itis incomplete butt a flag coming in and
it looked like this is a playearlier where we thought there was holding.
They didn't call it in the firsthalf. This time being held down field
was Aaron Solberg and this should giveNorth a first down. Yeah, and
Soldberg has been almost held a lotof the time. I can't I can't
give a lot of credit to that. But Solberg has been taking the top

(01:28:17):
off the defense. There was amatter of time when someone just kind of
grabbed them a little bit too muchand held them up a little bit too
long for the threast to finally throwa flag on that ten yards and not
an automatic first down, but itwill be result in a first down here
for the Huskies, and so thatwill move the Huskies up to the twenty
five yard line up Memorial and itwill be a first down here for this

(01:28:42):
What is now? What are wedoing here on the sideline? Three forty
five left to play? The down? Marker judge doesn't know what to do
the referees, so now they finallygive it, they will move the chains.
Yes, ten is more than nine. They needed nine yards. They
give them ten on the penalty. And apparently we didn't know we needed to
move the chains yet, all right, sports commentators might not We might not

(01:29:03):
know, Matthew this week six right, I think we've had we've had five
weeks to figure this out. Butall right, here we go three receivers,
So the right one to the leftshipment gives it to Olsen. He'll
get a couple one to the twentyfour yard line, I think is what
they'll give him. We'll see Schaeffercoming in late on the tackle. Initially
at the defensive line was Ben Helminski. And it will be second and nine

(01:29:26):
here for Eauclaire North and they're kindof sticking with Shipman here. I thought
they were gonna do a little bitof what they did last time, where
was a Shipman McCracken kind of duo. However, they've been sticking with Shipman
out here. Yeah. I thinkit's one of those where McCracken was He
was fine in the first alf,but you need something right and maybe they're
saying, let's roll the dice withShipman and see what we get. Two
receivers right, one left. Oneof them goes in motion. They will

(01:29:47):
give it to him on the endaround here to Suliberg. He's got us
some space across the twenty and upnear the sixteen yard line, about a
yard short of the first down lightthat plate, you know, extend the
deep bens, get that ball inspace and we see a nice run there
from Aaron Solberg. Yeah, becausethey have fast players out there, but
we haven't really seen them get involvedenough because half of the time Manomnie's been

(01:30:09):
able to kind of cover them perfectlyto the point where the zone just kind
of washes them out of the playcompletely. But on that one they kind
of give a little give and goa little end around on that and Aaron
Solberg shows what Aaron Solberg can do. It can take the top off the
defense. That's right a play rightout of the UW stout book here at
Williams Stadium, and something Terek Yagylikes to run with a lot of his

(01:30:30):
receivers for the Blue Devils, andright here on this field is it looks
like Monomnie showing pressure. They'll giveit to Olson. Can he get past
the pressure? No, he's wrappedup by the pressure for no gain on
the play. Mighty even lost ahalf a yard good penetration there by the
Mustangs that looked like it was ledby Kay Johnson. And now fourth in
about a yard and a half andNorth is gonna have to go for it

(01:30:51):
with two minutes left in the thirddown thirty two to seven, and it's
gonna it's gonna be interesting to seewhat they call here. I'm kind of
expecting a cam Olson run. However, you have Shipman. You could easily
do a triple option play here andhave another back out there. They don't
have another back out there. It'sjust Olson and Shipman. You could potentially
do a fake and then go upthe middle. But it'll be interesting to

(01:31:12):
see what they do here. Prereceivers left one right, they show pressure.
He's gonna run it himself as Shipman. Can he get around the edge.
Kenny's got the first down and heis out of bounds there the eleven
yard line, so they'll give himfive yards on the play that was just
using Shipman's speed there to get aroundthe edge. Didn't have a lot of
space, but his speed got himthe first down. And Shipman's been able
to just go around that corner justout run these Mustang defenders. They have

(01:31:34):
not been able to catch up withShipman on that one. Shipman's been able
to kind of find that space andjust kind of take it. He's got
great acceleration too. He can bulldozeover people. But that's the thing with
him. He could just zoom.He could just be fast. That's what
he did. It'll be first andten here from the Monomene eleven yard line,
so they can still pick up anotherfirst down with the one one thirty

(01:31:57):
five remains though in the third quarterit's Monomonie thirty two Oh Clare North seven
one receiver right to the left. They fake the handoff Shipmen rolling right getting
to the edge. Can he getthis one to the end zone? He
can? He gets crushed as wellon that throw. No, the hit
was not, you know, late, but I thought maybe the follow through
was a little excessive there from Thornton. No call, and it's an incompletion

(01:32:19):
as he throws that one toward theend zone. Second and ten and Thornton
kind of showing that this Minoani teamstill has a presence out there. He
wanted to let He wanted to letShipman know, Hey, we're still gonna
We're still gonna fight you tooth andnail here. We're not We're the ones
up here. We're the ones kindof with the We're the ones with the
giant lead. We're the ones thatare gonna go out there and still fight

(01:32:40):
you for this one. We're notdone yet. You hear the must saying
student section right below us here startingto make some noise. Three receivers left
one right here for Shipman in theshotgun with Olson to his left himself.
Olsen gives him a block, hesaid, the ten and he gets hit
hard at about the nine, maybethe eight and down there, so about
yard or two on the play, and it will be third and eight now

(01:33:03):
here for ou Claire North at theMonomonie nine yard line. And if you're
ou Claire North, you hate tosee this because they're almost all the white
jerseys were completely past the defenders. No one held a block on that left
side except for cam Olsen, whothrew a nice kind of low block to
get the get a let nice stopthere on a defensive end. And you

(01:33:25):
wonder if this is gonna be apassing play because McCracken just checked back into
the game at quarterback. Three receiversleft one right there on the near hash
third and eight. They need toget it in the end zone. They
throw a fade route. It's up. It is caught in a corner of
the end zone. Touchdown, Huskies. It's Carter Burns who comes down with
it. One on one coverage withHayden Weir and he comes up with the

(01:33:45):
win in that one on one matchupthirty two thirteen Monomie League with the extra
point pending, and McCracken got crackedat the end of that play. He
absolutely got thrown down by Thornton.I was almost wondering if they would throw
a late hit flag on that one, but I don't know. However,
that was a beautiful throw to Burns, who had a one on one matchup
and obviously wanted to get that win. There. He was doing great and

(01:34:09):
just like that, it's only thirtytwo to fourteen. You still have a
chance to get back into this game. It's an eighteen point one. But
here we are now a late whistle. Here before we run any kind of
extra point play, is there's anoffensive lineman down for oad Claire North.
That is Kenton Mondo, a sixfoot five, three hundred pounds sophomore who's
one of the anchors of that offensiveline with that size, is just a

(01:34:31):
sophomore, and he is down inthe middle of the field before anybody can
run a play there, and Iwonder what might have happened on that past
plate that results in the touchdown. But he will get in for the extra
point on the extra point. Excuseme, there they did run the extra
point play as we were making thatindication. So it is thirty two to

(01:34:54):
fourteen. My apologies, mon Nomineewith the lead forty three seconds remain here

But that a luckily walking off underhis own power, looks like he might

But all right, you've got thetouchdown. Forty three seconds remain in the

They've eaten up a lot of clockhere. But the rain is starting

(01:36:26):
to fall here in Monomonie. Andyou talked about turnovers. Usually when rain
comes that turnovers follow. And aMonomonie is going to have the ball here,
And if North wants to get backinto it, maybe a slippery ball
could be the way to get backinto this game, especially as a running
back. Holding that ball when it'scompletely just slipper, When it's completely slippery,
it's almost like holding a watermelon withbutter on it. It's it's hard

(01:36:47):
to hold onto, especially when youhave Oak Claire North defenders. You're ripping
on it. You hold a watermelonwith butter on it a lot hunt.
Oh yeah, all the tall fallaround here, all around your apartment.
Don't expose my saturdays. That's anexciting saturday. We want to we want
to know more all right. Hereit comes a kickoff here for Oakland North,
a short kickoff. This will becaught at the twenty five yard line

(01:37:08):
by one of the up backs toreturn to the thirty five. They try
to rip the ball out. Heheld on to it. Wow, nice
job holding on to that return forthe Mustangs. He up back taking it
back was I believe Daniel Hansen andhe'll get it to the thirty six yard
line. But boy, didn't thatfeel like a fumble is about coming there?
And a good job by North totry for it. They didn't finish

(01:37:29):
it off, and you know McGinnisis talking to him about you gotta rip
out the you gotta rip out theyou gotta rip out the ball. You
gotta cause fumbles out there. Theonly way you're getting back into this game,
which we're still in the third quarterhere, we still have another quarter
we left. If you cause someturnovers here, who knows what happens,
especially with a team that runs theball as much as this team does.
Johnson goes under center with thirty sixseconds remaining in the third quarter, and

(01:37:53):
the handoff is to the up backhere, the fullback in back. You
see North ripping at the balls,he gets up to the forty one yard
line. Believe that was Higby.Let's see if that in fact was Yeah,
he gets the forty officially four yardgain, and it'll be second and
about six here perm nominee, andthey're likely gonna let the clock tick down
to the end of the third quarter. I'd imagine, oh, yeah,

(01:38:15):
definitely, you don't really need anotherchance to snap your But a great job
by Carter Vance who made that firstinitial hit. He had a handful of
that ball. He almost if ifif Higby wouldn't have been able, if
Higby didn't go down as fast ashe did, Vans would have literally had
ripped that out. Yeah, Ithink we're gonna see a lot of that
in the fourth quarters. North. We'll try to rip the ball and try

fourteen Menominee with the lead on oakClaire North Menominee on a second and six
coming up from their own forty yardline. As North is trying to figure
out a way to get back intothis game, Johnson will give the tailback

(01:40:00):
the ball and he has written backwardshere. Great pursuit by the Huskies is
once again we see Frederick with anice stop right back at the line of
scrimmage. A tailback this time wasdrought no game third and five, and
that was a great job by Frederickto kind of sitting in the pocket right,
kind of sit right where the gamewhere the running back was gonna go.

(01:40:23):
We haven't seen that most of thisgame. Usually there's a free hold
there because the lineman have been doingso great on this Mustang team. However,
Frederick kind of gets past the linemanand just sits there, sister perfectly
and makes a beautiful tackle. Rainreally coming down now, the umbrellas and
the ponchos coming out here at WilliamsStadium. Under center goes Johnson. He's

(01:40:44):
got the big set once again.Wants to hand it off. No,
he will roll to his left lookingdownfield. Pressure from North, and that
was well done to force an incompletionthrow to the nearest side. The pressure
in the backfield for the Huskies comesfrom column Robodeck and that is a four
down coming up, and exactly whatNorth needed here down eighteen eleven or eight
left to go fourth quarters, soplenty of time, down three scores.

(01:41:08):
They're gonna get the ball back andyou can still run it as this old
Claire North team. You don't needto force passes here, and especially with
such a with enough time. There'seleven minutes left. It's not like the
NFL where there's a ton of time. With this however, it's still not
a short amount of time, andyou're only down by three scores here,
you can make a chance they're linedup to go for this. It is

(01:41:29):
going to be a Poochpun had afeeling that might be the case. Nobody
back for North, But how aboutthe wind is going to push this one
all the way into the end zone. That's the other thing to bring up
here. There are some winds andsome storms in the area which could potentially
affect the end of this game here. But the wind has really picked up.
It's blowing from the south end zoneto our right to the north end
zone to our left. So OldClaire North is going to be going into

(01:41:50):
the wind here for the final elevenminutes of this game, which I'm not
sure that really does a whole lot, because I feel like we're going to
see the ball be kept on theground cut quite a bit with how hard
the rain starting to come down.Oh yeah, especially with you're not gonna
be able to throw especially with awind coming at you and then this rain
coming down, it's gonna be toohard to catch the ball as well as

(01:42:10):
too hard to just even get agrip on the ball to make it throw.
I wonder if they're gonna have Shipmentout here or McCracken, And it
looks like they have McCracken out hereto start this, which means maybe some
more throws might go through the air, that's for sure. So their own
twenty is where the Huskies will startwith eleven o one left to play down
thirty two to fourteen. McCracken withthe handoff to Olson running left, fights

(01:42:31):
through a tackle and then as spunbackwards at the twenty two yard line.
Two yard gain on the play forOlson tackled by multiple Husky or part of
me a Mustangs rather look like sacreinon the tackle and that will be a
two yard gain. Second and eight, and the fans that aren't prepared for
this rainstorm are absolutely flooding for theI'm not prepared, but we're in a

(01:42:53):
booth. Yeah, we're sitting prettynice with this nice window in front of
us. All. I think we'redoing pretty well right now. But it's
gonna The thing is with oak ClaireNorth, you're gonna have to hold onto
the ball too. Remember cam Olsen'shad his fumble troubles in the past.
Yeah, I mean you gotta goall. I mean pull out all the
stops. At this point, tentwenty left to play and North down by

(01:43:13):
eighteen points, they send the receiversdown field. McCracken rolling downfield, that
is incompletely tried to find Jensen. It would not have been much of a
game on the near sideline pressure inthe backfield. I think they wanted again
to go to Burns deep down thefield there, but his only chance was
to get into Jensen, and thatwouldn't have done much. Yeah, and
Burns has been winning that matchup allnight long. He's been he's been that

(01:43:34):
go to guy for them tonight bywell, Barry Jensen's been that kind of
safety net. Burns has been takingthe top off that defense. And also
he's been able to make some big, big playe grabs. I mean,
let last touchdown for instance, thatwas a beautiful grab by him. Well
for the third down and long here, we're gonna expect to pass Johnson splits
wide right, Burns wide left,Slolburg in the slot to the left,

(01:43:57):
jetson offset right, but crack onthird and eight from the twenty two.
They faked the end around rolling right. Gotta get rid of it. He
does, but it is incomplete.Trying to find Solberg and that'll be fourth
down and North again. I don'tknow if you're gonna go for it or
not. There is a man downfor North on the far sideline. Burns.
He was running into that route.Looks like he's cramping up and they're
gonna stretch him out on the farsideline. Yeah, and that's a hard

(01:44:21):
thing to see. Hopefully Burns ableto get back up. We all know
how how bad cramps can be inespecially in such bad conditions right now.
It's gonna be a rough one tofinish off this game. But fourth and
eighth here, you'd expect them togo for it, just because there isn't
really much left to do here withten minutes to go. However, you

(01:44:41):
could potentially punt it away, forceto turn over and get the ball back
in like better field position on ourgo ahead, go ahead. Now,
I was gonna just say it wasgonna be interested to see what they call
up here. They're still looking atBurns. They're gonna get the teams back
out here. As we look onour out of town Otto King's scoreboard,
River Falls eating twenty one to nothingagainst Superior, and the third quarter of

(01:45:03):
that game, New Richmond all overChipwood to Night thirty nine to seven with
three thirty four left in the fourthquarter. There Hudson up forty eight to
nothing. They've got eleven twenty sevenleft in the fourth. They have a
running clock and so a massive windcoming up for the Raiders tonight over the
Old Abs, as the Old Absmaybe knocked out a playoff contention with the
loss here tonight at least very closeto being knocked out a playoff contention.

(01:45:27):
High snap punt will get away,They might have gotten a piece that's not
a great one into the win goesout of bounds at the thirty five yard
line. That will be a netof just thirteen yards on the punt there
for the Huskies. And a littlebit dejected there as Perkins as he goes
back to the huddle. But that'sa tough one into the strong wind and
the conditions as they are, noand getting a grip on that ball to

(01:45:49):
be able to snap it because thatsnap was not great whatsoever. But even
getting a grip on that ball, especially in these wet conditions, is going
to be difficult. So I don'tknow this. This team has heart,
We've seen it have heart. We'veseen them come back from bigger death,
well not bigger deficits, but bigdeficits before. But man, this these

(01:46:11):
conditions are just not gonna help themwhatsoever. I imagine Madami is just gonna
keep this on the ground here withthe rain pelting down the ball in the
near hash mark unbalanced line to theleft side, they'll handoff and towards the
sideline, in fact going out ofbounds on the sideline after you're getting about
six maybe seven yards those of theball carrier at Hayden Man it will be

(01:46:31):
a gain of five officially second andfive clock stops. So nine fifty four
will have to play here in thefourth and north. Just not looking happy
out there whatsoever. And obviously,to be fair, they're down thirty two
to fourteen. However, you needto keep up the energy though. But
right now you're seeing a lot ofmistackles just with the arms like just kind
of running by their their running backwhenever they come up to one. Does

(01:46:54):
it have to be natural grass forit to be fun in these conditions?
Not the field turp right away? You like those muddy uniforms in this situation
is here's a dance and a runacross the twenty yard line up to the
fifteen yard line. Big game thereof about fourteen maybe fifteen yards on the
ball carry or the carry rather forJack Drought and a first down here for
the Mustangs. Plus those those muddyjerseys make it look like you did something

(01:47:17):
out there, being able to slideacross that, And it also gives you
a depending on what kind of mudyou're getting on your hands there, it
might give you a little extra gripon that ball too. Way, I
knew a quarterback that used to gripthe ball with by getting some muddy grass
on his hands to kind of justget it up when those conditions were like
this, when you're on a fieldturf field like this here at William Stadium,
and all it looks like is thatyou've been run over by a car

(01:47:39):
tire, I think at that point. But nonetheless, under center goes Johnson
again. He's got the fullbacks offset, big formation again and off to the
tailback, big hole again to theten, trips up at the six yard
line, the run coming once againfor Weir, and now I'll be about
a yard short of the first down, second and one from them or from
the north seven. I'm an Omineeis just a couple of yards away from

(01:48:01):
putting this one to bed. Yeah, they've they've been doing this all game
long, and Old Claire North isgonna have to kind of recuperate from this
and figure out what they can doto stop this hole in their in their
run defense, because we saw thislast time with Chipwa Chippa was able to
gouge the heck out of Oak ClaireNorth as well, and now we're seeing
the same thing with the Mustangs tonight. Usually this team is pretty good on

(01:48:23):
the run deep, but they havenot been showing it tonight. Johnson goes
under center, hands off to thefull back up that got to the one
yard line before he hits the dirt, and that will be another run,
a good run for Higbee, whohad a touchdown catch on the last drive
for Menominee. Thirty two fourteen.Innominee leads eight twenty seven left to go

(01:48:44):
and they have one more play ifthey can punch this one in on first
some goal and again, they wouldput themselves a pretty good position to come
away at the win here tonight.Yeah, definitely. And I think the
story of this game has been howgreat this offensive line has looked against this
Old Claire North defense into line,They've been just absolutely overpowering them. Johnson
will pitch it to Drought, Droughtto the right side. He has not

(01:49:06):
touched into the end zone. Eighto two remaining here in the fourth quarter,
and Manomenie now leagues thirty eight tofourteen on the one yard touchdown run
from Drought, the senior running backhere on homecoming, and Monomonie is well
on the way. Yeah, andthis Oak Claire North team just looking like
they want to get out of here. There was absolutely no one. Everyone's

(01:49:29):
got their hands on their hips, just kind of like, all right,
when's the next play gonna happen sowe can kind of get out of here,
because there's just nothing. They arenot looking like they want to even
tackle anyone out there, Like thereare a couple of players on this defense
that are really running and rallying tothe ball, like Frederick and your other
team captains on the defense. Butright now they're just kind of letting everyone
else is just kind of letting theoffense do whatever they want. They'll go

(01:49:51):
for two. Drought is in fortyto fourteen Menomonie with the lead on Oak
Clair North here with eight o twoleft to go in the contest. Back
after this on Classic Rock ninety twoone. This is oh clear high school
football on Classic Rock ninety two one. One key stat help find the run

(01:50:16):
cardboard You yeah, only on BirchStreet, you know, Clarian's true,
There's only one leg? Is thatkey? Your home for the Huskies is

(01:50:40):
Classic Rock ninety two one one yardtouchdown run from the senior running back four
of the Mustangs, and Jack Troutnow has Monomonie up forty to fourteen year
on Oaklare North eight oh two leftto play here in the fourth quarter,
and somebody is, you know, very upset with when they're gonna leave here
apparently, but I have plans arefalling through as we speak here it's a

(01:51:02):
Williams Stadium. But nonetheless, Mustangsare well on the way at this point.
North put up a decent fight earlyon in this game, but just
could not quite keep up with thisrunning attack. From a nominee as they'll
squip kick this one of the nearestside scooped up not quite scooped up there,
bobbled by wisen back and he'll goout of bounds at the twenty yard

(01:51:23):
line. And North, you mightstart to see some of the backups now
in for both teams with seven fiftyeight left to play, and this is
a perfect time to see what Shipmanand the other backup, maybe Lavante Bean
can do. This is the perfecttime to kind of just develop your youth
here, especially with this young teamon the old player North, especially with
the young team on Mustangs. Theseteams have some great depth and that's something

(01:51:45):
that I've been able to like. That's something you notice here as you look
at the rosters here, They've gotamazing depth and you finally can get their
young players out there. So thereis a c there's a light. There's
a light at the end of thetunnel here for both teams. Cam Olson
will stay in the game at themoment, but it is Shipman in a
running back. You see a numberof the first stringers in there, but

(01:52:06):
a few of the second stringers aswell. Here for North, two receivers
go left one right on the nearhash mark. They will give it to
Olsen. No, it's a keeperfor Shipment trying to go around the right
edge to the twenty breaks it tackledup to the twenty nine yard line at
nine yard game for Shipment. It'llbe interesting, right, I mean,
they got Hudson next week, thisNorth and then you know, chances potentially

(01:52:28):
late in this season to try toyou know, get officially qualified for the
playoffs. But I mean North hasno easy task in front of them as
this season continues, but they dohave this option now in Shipman Dan.
I feel like as the season isdeveloped, I mean, that's gonna be
something you think that they would benefitfrom late in this campaign. Yeah,
it gives them like another fold totheir offense here, just being able to

(01:52:53):
give it to a Shipment on therun on the outside, it's just the
beautiful thing to have. Olsen getsthe handoff, he's got the first down
up of the thirty five yard lineon a game of seven yards and now
we see a few of the Mustangsgetting into this game again on the second
team as well as that tackle wasmade by Charlie mike Sel and a first

(01:53:13):
down here for North as the raincontinues to felt this field turf field and
something that cannot be taken lightly. This Mustang, this Mustang defense is still
showing out even even when it's kindof a little even when it's passed their
time, even when we got arunning clock going, they're still out there
fighting and trying to rip that ballaway from all Claire north Well, he
knew that North schedule was gonna betough down the stretched shipment going with a

(01:53:35):
nice pass for Soulberg, he gottied up down field with the defensive back
Ray Pember No call in complete pass, second and ten now from their own
thirty five here for the Husky sixforty three remaining in the fourth clocks stop.
We're not at the running clock markas of yet. Manominee leading forty
to fourteen. Yeah, and thisNorth team is gonna kind of just have

(01:54:00):
to develop a little bit more becausethey have some great weapons out there.
But when you're kind of getting stuffedwith when you're trying to only do run
plays and only getting stuffed with runplays, you're gonna need to open up
that offensive game to get a littlebit more of a spread action in there.
Whether that's getting slant. Whether that'smore screens on the outside to kind
of get your skill players in motion. We're just gonna need to see something

(01:54:21):
different. Second and ten, Shipmanwill fake the hand off. Now runs
to the left side. Now backsup. He's gonna try to throw this
with the left hand. It isjump four. Who got it? Nobody?
It's incomplete. A defensive back cameflying in for the interception there.
I think that was Brady Goodman whocame in from the safety spot. Look
at that shifted to the left hand. I think there was an NFL quarterback

(01:54:44):
that did that the other day. That was impressive, but in the end
it almost resulted an interception. Ohyeah, definitely. I I like the
improvisation there when something it didn't reallylook like much was gonna be able.
Oh yeah, just limit me withoutthe no look right, But he had
a he had a chance there. He probably should have just taken off and
ran and kind of let what thedefense was gonna give him. But we'll

(01:55:06):
see what they got drawn up here. In the third and ten, six
thirty five or main clock stopped onthe dcompletion. Two receivers right, two
left for Shipman takes the snap. He's gonna run with it to the right
side and breaks a tackle thirty fiveforty and he gets hit hard but falls
forward. And now I think Northof Ken go for it is. It's
gonna be fourth and one at theirown forty four yard line. Shipping a

(01:55:26):
little bit slow getting up, tooka big hit, but a good run
for him in nine yards. Andthat's the issue with being a running quarterback
like Shipman. He might be bigenough to be able to bowl over those
guys, and he is shifty enoughto kind of get in between those tackles.
However, if you keep taking abeating like that, it's gonna hurt
them more. And I'll tell youthat much. Let's see what North can
do again. They're down forty tofourteen, six minutes of clock ticking left

(01:55:47):
to play here in the fourth.I mean, this end of this schedule
is brutal, right. I mean, you got my nominee tonight, then
you're on the road at Hudson nextweek, You're getting New Richmond two weeks
after at home, and then yougot to go to River Falls. So
I mean North needs one more winto likely be qualified for the playoffs.
But it's tough to see one,right. I mean there's a lot of
really good teams on there. Isthey hand off to Olson on fourth and

(01:56:10):
one and he did not get there. He gets pushed back by the defensive
line. They'll likely give Breta toben el Minsky, a loss of two
on the play turnover on downs,Menominee has it with five thirty eight left
to go and North again, they'regonna have to find at least one win
against Hudson, New Richmond or RiverFalls in the last three weeks of the

(01:56:31):
season if they want to keep thatseason going, because now they go to
two and two in all likelihood herein conference play, in three and three
overall, and even if they don'tmake a win, even if they don't,
somehow condrare up a win here inthese next few games. I would
almost count this season as a winstill because you're showed, you showed something
that passed. Oh Claire. Northteams haven't shown and that's a little bit

(01:56:54):
of heart. They still keep flyingto the play, they still keep that
energy and that efficiency that they havebeen become known for. Now, well,
you see nice play by Frederick onthe ball carrier here the new ball
carrier and James hawk in a quarterback. Now is Charlie Baron the receiver for
monomone the backup quarterbacks, so he'sgonna get some reps there. With five

(01:57:15):
twenty left to go in the fourth, forty to fourteen, Monominee leads.
And again we'll have the game againstNew Richmond on October sixth, and we
might call an audible there, dependingon if that River Falls game matters,
and if the Memorial game doesn't tomaybe head over to u W River Falls
and call that one as well inthe last week. If the North it
needs a win to get into theplayoffs. So we'll have to all see

(01:57:38):
how it all works out. Butit's gonna be a tough road for the
Huskies down the stretch, pitch outon the left side, big hole to
the forty thirty five and flag Ithink was that something came in? He
will say that he got out ofbounds on the run there for the Mustangs
with the renters stole something flew in, But I guess it wasn't a flag

(01:57:59):
on damn, Yeah that was thatwas am I seeing things? Or was
that just no, no, no, no, I saw that too.
That was the student section they justthey just threw a toy onto the field.
Not really a great show of sportsmanship, as I think we want to
know anymore. We don't want toknow anything. Yeah, we don't want
to know anymore. There while atthe twenty eight yard line of the Huskies,

(01:58:21):
and they're gonna wait to snap thisone as the clock ticks down,
the wait for the back judge's armto go in the air. They had
plenty of time to wait, tenseconds hourmaining on the play clock, and
they will give it to one ofthe fullbacks up the gut pushes the pile
up to the twenty five yard line, and we'll extra pushing and shoving.
Officials might get a little more closeto the play, try to make sure

(01:58:44):
nothing crazy happens. Forty to fourteen, but Nominee leads four ten left to
go, clock ticking. Yeah, and this this so Clarinor team is obviously
frustrated with how this game has gone. And it's gonna be interesting to see
how they bounce back from it.Now down now, back to back law
is potentially for them here. Theywant to make this river. They want
to go into River Falls next weekand be able to get a push.

(01:59:09):
It's gonna be interesting to see whatMcGinnis is gonna draw up for them against
a really strong river Falls team. This Mustang team was a bit much for
them, but maybe Riverfalls can showthat, Oh Clare North is a playoff
team. Hand off to the tailbackhere, off to the left side,
up to the twenty yard line.Again they carry this time for runners stole
and we'll bring up a third andpretty manage will here third and two more

(01:59:30):
monominee. Again. They led goinginto halftime, but I scored twenty four
to seven. You know, Ilook back at it, Dan and that
drive right in the end of thehalf, you know you had North was
only down by nine. I wassixteen to seven. They actually had the
ball, if you remember, andthey had a drive. The only lasted
what twenty three second or no partof me, it was only a minute

(01:59:51):
that it last. It gave theball back Monominnie went down in twenty three
seconds. Score. That feels likethat was a big difference in that game,
as once again we will see undercenter taking a snap Baron Baron with
a handoff a chance for a touchdown. Here down to the five, down
to the three yard line, goesthe ball Carrier and Hoff and he's got
a first and goal coming up forthe Mustangs. But that feels like that

(02:00:14):
was probably the big drive in thisone. That kind of spelled the end
for North. Oh yeah, Idefinitely took the wind out of their sales
there. And you can tell fromthe body language after that play happened like
they didn't they had something going, they had something great going. They had
a good drive kind of put together, and then suddenly a sack just kind
of tears it all apart. Butthen, especially giving up a scoring drive

(02:00:35):
in twenty seconds, that is somethingyou hate to see, especially as like
a coaching staff, you hate seeingas a team. And we'll get a
time out here taken by the Huskieswith two twenty six remaining in the contest,
gonna get you a couple of scoreshere from around the Big Rivers conference.

(02:00:57):
And it's in an untime down. We're I'm trying to figure out.
I think we may have a finalhere with River Falls, and with superior
River Falls is going on to awin there, thirty seven to eight lead,
and I believe the last play ofthe game is happening at the moment
and that should do it. SoRiver Falls wins thirty seven to eight over
Superior. Tonight, knew Richmond destroyedChipwa thirty nine to seven. They beat

(02:01:20):
Chipwa Falls, which is a bitof a i'm gonna say a surprise,
but one of those where you're justa little bit shocked that Chipway didn't put
up more of a fight. Andanother blowout at Carson Park as Memorial is
defeated by Hudson forty eight to nothingtonight as Hudson just goes on and takes

(02:01:43):
it too the old Abs this eveningand Moomini doing the same thing here.
They are on to attempt what lookslike a kneel down at the moment,
even after that time out taken bycoach McGuinness. I mean, they do
have two time outs left, butI imagine they won't take him now,
Monominee taking that knee think North willtake a time out here? If they

(02:02:04):
do, Monomnie, I'm sure I'lljust punch it right back in. Yeah,
kind of saying just to wave thewhite flag basically, and that's a
great show of sportsman ship there bythat coaching staff just to not kind of
they could easily have gone and runup the score and made it forty eight
to four. Team make it lookgood on the score books. But this
this, these two teams kind ofhave a bit of history together, especially

(02:02:26):
the coaching stafe. We talked aboutit last you know, last year,
twenty nine wins in a row, twenty nine years of winning in a row
for for Menominee against Oakla Oaklaire.North broke that streak last year. It
was probably one of the shocks inall the Wisconsin when North beat Menominee at
at Carson Park. And I'm surea lot of these kids on this team
for Monomonie remember that, and theywant to get this program not back in

(02:02:49):
the right direction, but I meanthey want to start a new streak right
And that's exactly what they've done heretonight. Because there's another knee taken third
down officially coming up with one twentyseven remaining, I don't believe they'll be
able to run the entire clock outhere. And again we're not in a
running clock, so North is likelygoing to get the ball back with a
few seconds left with the neil downs. But keep you up to date on

(02:03:12):
how that's all working. And thething about this is the Mustangs came into
this game with less yards than camOson had combined. He had more than
this entire rushing offense for the Mustangs. But the Mustangs showed out tonight.
They showed a whole other level oftheir offense. And as if you're a
Mustang fan out there, you're gonnalove seeing this. Sepp means a potential

(02:03:32):
splash in the playoffs. Took theknee with about fifty five seconds remaining,
so they'll have to run one moreplay here willman nominee and maybe they'll just
run around in the backfield throw itaway, try to get this one tick
down to zero unless the official isgoing to fudge the play clock, which
of course you can do in highschool since there's no play clock running on

(02:03:53):
the field, even though we're ata college stadium. But don't get me
started on that the whole other realyou've probably heard me ran about that before.
I would do it again, butwe're almost at the end. I
guess I could just let it goand get ready for the drive home.
Forty to fourteen Manominie with the lead, they are gonna have to run a
play here. They might just takea delay a game. We'll see official

(02:04:15):
is counting and they're gonna have totake this snap. They're not even gonna
take the snap. It'll be delaya game about seven seconds remaining, and
then I think Manominee might just runthe play where they run around and then
throw it away and end the gamethat way. So the backup five yards
don't need to take a time outhere, which is a nice part of
that, and that should pretty muchdo it here tonight. And we could

(02:04:38):
still potentially just see the knee ofthe ball too, just because there's only
seven seconds left. More than likethe oak Clay, North won't even run
a play and they will take theknee and they will stop the clock with
six seconds, So North gonna haveto run a play here to end this
game. Do you remember that FootballFriday Night is coming up here in the

North had a few moments. Thatdrive at the end of the half,
like we talked about, that onlytook twenty three seconds. Manominee goes
into score, makes it twenty fourto seven. Not only that, but
then they get the ball to receivethe third quarter they go down field,
six minute drive, go in forthe score. That was pretty much what
spelled the end for the Huskies tonight. Oh yeah, definitely. And if

(02:08:03):
you're a Husky, that's just asad way to go out too. Is
It was hard to watch, especiallythat second half when they just kept getting
gash over and over and over again. Usually it's those middle the middle plays
too, like running just clean upthe middle and they would get like five
to ten yards each play. Butthat shows the dominance of that Mustang offensive
line and they really came out fullforce today. They really they showed they

(02:08:26):
wanted to like beat up this OldClaire Nor team, and they did.
They won in the trenches, andthat's how you win football games, especially
at this level of high school.Steel Shaffer with an impressive night ninety five
yards and three touchdowns for him. That was the leader for the Mustangs in
rushing eighty five yards for Camlson,no touchdowns. Pate McCracken did throw a
touchdown to Trevian Johnson in this game. That's one of the bright spots.

(02:08:50):
Two touchdowns in fact through the airfor McCracken. Here tonight a quick out
of town score bard brought to youby Otto King. In the Big Rivers
Conference, Tonan again obvious Semenominee beatingOak Claire North forty to fourteen. Tonight,
New Richmond wins thirty nine to sevenover Chai Hi River Falls wins thirty
seven to eight over Superior. Hudsonwins forty eight to nothing over Oa Claire

(02:09:11):
Memorial. So New Richmond and Hudsonstay undefeated in conference play, both four
and oh they will meet up.I believe in two weeks. I believe
it is a week number eight thatthose two meet up and that could be
again a de facto Big Rivers Conferencechampionship game, which should be a lot
of fun. Dan, that wasfun at least for a while. And
now we get to drive back inthe rain. But nonetheless we will see

(02:09:33):
you next week four. I believeMemorial back in action at Carson Park.
That should be fun and we'll seeyou there. Absolutely, it is great.
It was a nice colling of gamewith you again, Pete always is.
Again a special thanks for our ourproducer back in studio, Dan Price.
