school Menomonie jerseys down there as wellas part of the cheerleading outfit here.
This evening, a big parade earlier, and so a lot of pop and
circumstances. Dan, you played plentyin high school games. You know how
what emotions do and how how emotionswork hitting football, But especially on homecoming,

especially against a team who hadn't beatMonominee in twenty nine years and did
it last year, this feels,at least from emotional standpoint, like Monomenie
is gonna have a lot behind themhere tonight. That doesn't mean North can't
win this game. They certainly can. They're a solid team. But you
know that all that kind of stuffis gonna be in Monomine's quarter tonight.
And you know, players like tosay that they don't see that kind of

stuff. Same with coaches, theysay like they don't they don't tell their
players any of that or whatever,but these players do. In a we're
in a time of social media.Everyone's seeking everything. All the players know
each other, everyone knows each other. Everyone wants to beat each other,
get that kind of bragging rights,especially like between these two teams here,
who've been pretty historically known as likerivals. While they haven't been, while

now, you gotta feel like thisis a this is gonna be an intense
rivalry. Now. This is oneof the things the coach st talked about
in the media this past week wasabout how this Oaklare North squad, of
course, had has really made alot of steps. Right, this is
not the North teams. And we'vetalked about this as well from the last

you know, from the last multipleyears of the last two saying it,
yeah, the last two years,of course, Matt McGinn mmigan assist done
such a great job taking this teamand putting it into the position to win.
We've talked about it all the season, but you know, if you're
a Minominee fan out there, youdon't follow them too much. And I
think, oh, this is OaklairNorth, They're coming in. This should
be an easy win. I thinkthe Mustangs are already they know what happened

last year. I'm sure Mike sinshas this team ready and rare and to
go. They know that North isnot a rollover, that this is actually
a pretty darn good matchup for thebig Rivers. Yeah, because if you
take this team whitely, they willbite you. They will come with a
force. And there have been otherteams, as I've been shown by this
Oaklare North schedule, that have takenthem lightly and they have paid the price

for it. Well, for onesuperiod twenty nothing, they we all thought
that that was gonna be like alittle bit closer than that. Baklin North
came out there and they showed themwhat they got and Superior took them lightly
and they paid the price for it. Now, if Monomie is gonna come
out here and then they take oakClare North lightly, which they should not,
absolutely should not in any case,take them lightly and sins will definitely

have planted that image in their mindof wanting to get a win here.
But if you take this offense andespecially this defense, who has been showing
up night in and night out forthis Oak Claire North team, if you
take them lightly, they will comeout and they will be a force to
be reckoned with. You do notwant to let this team down, and
the same goes for Menomonie. OuClaire North knows Monomie's not the greatest team,

maybe not the best in recent yearsespecially, but they know that it's
still a historically good team with reallygood players out on that field. Kickoff

as a safety. Chase down CamOlsen with some great speed Olson. We'll

strongest in the big Rivers. BradyJohnson will go in under center and then
it's a big tight formation here forthe Mustangs. They'll hand it off to

the play from I think John Higbeewho got the run there, Higby,

but like maybe a game of likeone or two or something. But he

just kept on running. He hasthat he has that extra speed to really
take it past the defense and kindof run it off the top of this

And that's the great thing about havinga guy like Kenton Mondo on your
team there. He is a monumentousguy, just a giant, six foot
five over two hundred and fifty poundsand he will close up any gap right
there. He is perfect for thisrun stopping defense. You're gonna need to

see more of him to stop thisMinomnie offense. Though, Second and eight
now from their own forty one yardline. Here for the Mustangs, eto
six left to go on the firstquarter, no score. They'll swing it
out of the backfield. Too strongon the pass from Jans or Johnson rather
trying to find it out to oneof his receivers who was out of the
backfield, Isaac Ellenson. And nowthird and eight and just a little swing

pass there, and a little bittoo strong on the pass, and North
has Manomie and a third and long, and even though he didn't complete it,
you can kind of see that littlebit of speed he's got on that
ball. He really had that outthere. And the thing was Brady Jensen,
if he would have been half astep quicker, he probably would have
taken that ball and gone the otherway with it, because he was right
up on there. However, quickpass by Johnson, quick and complete,

and you lift to fight another day. Johnson and the shotgun. Now three
receivers left, third and eight fromthe their own forty one looking left the
entire way, flings it out tohis tail back there, Steel makes the
catch, makes a move. He'sto the forty forty five on the near

The tackle came on from Maato skirts, but boy, the little wouldn't even

a stifarm. He just gotta shovethe defender away and that's enough for a
first down. No, And it'sthat's the hard part about defending against a
guy like Steel Shaffer like that,he's gonna try and make you miss.
You gotta be able to shirt tackle, go down and grab a leg because
even if you don't, even ifyou don't bring him down in that first
go, you're gonna have other defenderscome over and help you out there.
Just not a great job by stoppingto get low enough to grab him,

and then a great job by Shafferto just keep on running though. Seel
Shaffer with the first down. Theywill give it now on No, I
fake handoff rather play action. He'llthrow this one away. Johnson took a
hit nicely into the backfield there withTaylor Frederick to make the play. Nobody
on that left side on kind ofa naked rollout to his left against his

that I saw that was open exceptfor maybe someone in the backfield. But
the way that they rolled out andthat it was also a great job by
Taylor Frederick to really close down andgive a lick to Johnson there. And
you know Johnson's gonna want to getget thrown, get run and get all
that stuff. Get the offense moving. Right now, Johnson goes under center,

two fullbacks offset right. He'll pitchit to Shaffer. He's got a
hold across the forty five. He'sclose to the first down, taken down
about the thirty. They're gonna givehim the thirty eight yard line in the
end there, taken down by GarrettSoffol and it'll be third and one now
here for the Mustangs was seven oreight left here in the first quarter.
And they are known for being arunning team, but they probably will be

tonight. Oh Claire North not thestrongest run defense. When they are able
to stop the run, it's usuallyon the inside, not the outside.
So whenever they're kind of doing trickoptions like this, it can usually net
for some extra yardage. They'll shifttheir fullbacks to the right side of the
formation. It's a fullback handoff anda first down and much much more across
the thirty yard line up to aboutthe twenty nine yard line there again for

the upback. That was Hi Higbyagain, and that was the second time
they'd handled off to him in thatbackfield, and sure enough he gets the
first down to the twenty nine AndI just don't think, oh Claire North
is expecting Higby to beginning these typesof runs because he's not really noted as
their main running back. That's steelShaffer. But however, he's still gonna
get those runs, and he's stillgonna do his best to get his get

as far upfield as possible. Well, he's a fast guy and he's a
big guy too. He will keeppushing this defense for sure. So first
down here and once again Johnson givesthe tailback Shaper the run and he's got
a counter to the right side,breaks attack a little to twenty fifteen ten

of saw this last game with OldClaire North against Chipwaw here they kind of
started out a little bit just notwith the same intensity we're used to seeing.
And that's kind of how I'm seeingit right now there. The body
language is just like we're gonna kindof let everything go and maybe something will

run our way here. On defense, well, you can't have that when
you're against a Mustang team like this. You need to go out there and
you need to kind of put kindof put yourself on the line, kind
of just give that real great justgrits that we're used to seeing with this
Old Claire North team, but we'renot seeing that right now. So we'll
see how this team develops. We'llsee what Gus can kind of draw up

North defense yet, but it feelslike they need some kind of response here

like Minomnie has that kind of momentumon their side, the way that they've
been pushing with the same kind ofthe same kind of force and power that
we were used to seeing the oldClaire North team come out with. It
seems like Minomnie's dragged that now andthey're they're gonna We're gonna see what they
got drawn up here on this OakClaire North offensive drive and go figure we

end up seeing Zach Shipman in atquarterback. He'll run with it for about
a yard on the keeper to theright side of the line. They mustangs
filled up that gap very quickly.There the tackle initial hit from Cage Sorens
and there are others helped out.He'll get a yard on the run.

Mccracking only threw once on that firstdrive. It was a completion on

is more of like a running backhybrid type quarterback. He's he's the type
of guy that's gonna run through anotherdefender. Even though he's listed at his
quarterback, he's basically a running backslash quarterback out there on the field.
We saw him come in last week. He's up to eight for fourteen passing

on the season for ninety seven yards. They'd have two rushing touchdowns last week
against Chipwa high snap. He's gonnarun with us a bit of a broken
play, breaks the tackle at theline of scrimmage, but doesn't get a
ton more a two yard run tothe thirty three yard line. And again
that high snap coming in breaks upthe play and all of a sudden third
and seven here for the Huskies.And a little bit of nerves here from
this Eau Claire North team, alittle bit of nerves kind of distracting them

a bit of scenes, especially withthat last snap. You almost have to
wonder if they're kind of a littlebit worried about losing this game, what
they need to get out of thatmindset. They need to really they need
to really get that intensity of likewe're seeing a monotony, just kind of
match that attitude. Well, it'slike you say, I mean, it's
that sort of all the sudden thingsare going south quickly, so quick early,
and that can get away from youreally quickly. Mccracking now back into

the game already at the quarterback position, sends a man in motion. He'll
fake the give little slant route here. It is too high for his intended
receiver on the near side in CarterBurns right idea single coverage downfield. He
just overthrew the pass. Burns actuallygot his fingers to it on a big
leap. That would have been oneheck of a catch if he pulled it
in. No chance so to makeit fourth and seven, and a little

bit too much on that one,as you said, and that's kind of
what he's used to doing. He'sused to kind of throwing it up to
where only the receivers can catch.Put on that one, he needed to
be perfect on that. He neededto kind of put it square on the
chest because the play works. Hehad him for wide open. Again,
it was the right idea. Notsure if there was maybe alignment up there
from a dominie who got his armsup and maybe effected the angle of that
throw. I think it was alinebacker. They had someone kind of up

there, kind of hovering around thatmiddle of the field. Punter standing in
his own twenty yard line, fumblesit. He will get it away,
decent kick here. It'll be takenat the thirty five yard line. Looking
for a return here to the nearestside, and the must sings Jake Anderson
down the near side line of thefifty to the forty five. He steps
out of bounds across the forty five. Down goes the line judge as well.
We'll see where he gets up tomarket at the forty four yard line.

Big return and again a low snap. We saw two bad snaps one
on the punt, one on seconddown on that play, and all of
a sudden again, like you said, Dawn, they feel kind of the
nervousness out there for North because thisis not going well to start this game.
Yeah, maybe a little bit antsyright over there, especially with those
snaps. But this is what wesaw last time. Chippa Valley was able

to gut that kick return team especially, and that was kind of their main
source of offense out there, whichis funny because it's the special teams,
but they were able to get many, many great, big returns against Oak
Claire North special teams, and youthought that they'd maybe sure that up a
little bit. But here we seethem just running along the left side and
no one's really taking the best anglesto cut them off. Eat nothing,

Menominee. With the lead here foreleven left to go, first quarter,
Johnson will give it to Shafer.He's got another massive hole up the middle
of the forty freaking tackles, trippedup across the thirty and taken down at
the twenty seven yard line. Thetouchdown saving tackle was from Reagan Crewett,
but not before a twenty up tothe twenty seven yard line. They go

and then is a sixteen yard game. And that was a great job by
crew It even though they allowed agreat chunk yards there. They've been doing
that this whole game so far.But crew It with a great job on
that last final, last final tripup to bring him down because otherwise Shaffer,
like you said, completely gone.This defensive line needs to sure themselves
up like they did in that firstcouple of plays. Yeah, the Monomie

offensive line has been impressive here tonight. And they will give the handoff,
not to Shaffer this time to oneof their backup running backs this time,
and Hayden Weird. He gets anice run up to the fifteen yard line
on the play and again just kindof chunking out these yards at the moment
and puts them in great position.And I hate using intensity as a catch
all here now, but intensity hasreally been the issue right now. They're

almost waiting for Monomonee to make aplay first instead of actually getting out of
their snaps, getting up in theirfaces as Monomnie runs quickly here. So
once again Monomnie comes to the line, Johnson under center. It's a Type
four may they'll give it again tothe back and a big whole left side
counters at the ten down to thefive yard line and they are just running

through their tailbacks. Right now arethe Mustangs. That was Jack drought on
the carry and it's another I thinkthey're gonna give them first down yard ands
here to the five yard line.They'll send the chains down its first end

monomone eight North nothing and they're knockingon the doorstep and Manomonie, especially
in that run game, is justcutting through with like a hot knife,

fling butter as they run up tothe line again. They are absolutely wanting
to get out to a huge leadon this Old Claire North team because they
know that they can come back fromthis hand off to the fullback up the
gut. Not enough for the touchdownthis time about three yards up the middle

and it looked like the usual suspectsin there for Oa Claire North, Taylor
Frederick and others making the tackle.And this is the thing Frederick needs to
do. He needs to kind ofhype up this defense. It looks like
that's he's doing right now, he'skind of clapping. He's kind of trying
to get everyone warmed up, becauseright now it's like they're all asleep,
especially when they're trying to get tothat running back. No one's really cutting
out of their stances in time.Unbalanced line. Shaffer gets the toss,

he lowers his shoulder and booms rightup in the middle for the Monomonee touchdown.
He bowled over Frederick and on thatplay into the end zone. Two
your touchdown run for Steel Shaffer.He is now up to twelve touchdowns tom
this season, and it is nowfourteen to nothing Monomie and Steel Shaffer.
I can't say enough about this guy. He's just fast. He kind of

has a little bit of cam Olsonin him too, where he's kind of
just able to bowl over people.Despite his stature and size, he's still
very quick. You cannot let himget into open space because he will make
a move and will make you payfor making the wrong decision. Here.

they been running out of their minds. And it's not even just it's not

even just Shaffer either. They're mixingup multiple running backs into that formation,

just getting these random ten yard chunkplays, just absolutely gashing this Oakleare North

about it here during the halftime break. The offensive line for Menomonie has been

so good as they lead twenty fourto seven here, and I mean they've
been opened up big holes. Theone guy we haven't really talked too much
about, Noah Penneger, right,that's the guy that we have seen make
so many plays at the line onthe defense from North. I mean I
haven't called his name once. Maybehe's been in on a tackle, a
half tackle here or there, butthey have really isolated him. I think
they singled him out as the guythat they got to stop if they want

to have running success or double teamin him, whatever it might be.
And he has not had any kindof penetration against this offensive line for Menomonie.
He's maybe gotten in on like oneor two tackles, but he's never
really been able to kind of closeup that any of the wholes. Manomnie's

or kind of like moving him awayfrom the play and then getting Shafer in

on those easy just drives to themiddle of the field. And that's kind
of the thing that Oakleare North hasto start kind of doing too. They're
