(00:00):
As Superior will get the run upthe old abst be back to return here.
They'll move from left to right,a little bit of wind moving from
left to right, and this willbe taken right up the gut between the
Hashbarks at the three yard line, moving the near side. This is a
big return on the near side. It's Wigle to the near side, line
up to the fifty yard line.Forced out of bounds. In the return
game, they're tackled on the playby the backup quarterback for Superior ten or
(00:24):
Leno, and it will be firstand ten at the fifty yard line here
for the old Abs. Great returnthere from Wigel and just great blocking in
general. Memorial look shot out ofa cannon while Superior was kind of just
collecting themselves while Memorial just kind ofslammed right through them with those blocks.
Beautiful job kind of keeping an openingopen there for Wigel. And it's a
(00:46):
great job by Wigel to have thatawareness to keep going down that sideline.
Yeah, really well done on thatreturn. He had a big lane on
that side as well. So fiftyyard line is where they start. It
will be Riley Holmberg. The Seniorwill send his tailback left side, the
little empty formation. Two receivers right, three to the left. Now a
man in motion goes right to left. They're gonna swing it out to him.
(01:06):
It's a catch, a backwards passto wiggle on that left side.
He is tackled from behind after again of about two to the superior forty
eight yard line. Nice little armtackle out there on the edge by Superior,
and that was Lucas Williams. Itwill be second and eight. And
even though that didn't look like muchwas gonna happen there, it still contributes
a little bit, just like alittle chunk by a little chunk, And
(01:27):
that's exactly what they need to do. It's a little bit of offensive consistency.
Even if you're getting like three tofour yards a carry, there's still
perfect You're gonna need to keep thatflow going though. Fake the handoff Homeburg
goes, swing it out another littlepot pass over to the right side.
Catch made, not a tun ofyardage up to the forty five yard line.
Catch made by take Ferguson. We'llcall that a gain of three on
(01:51):
the play. It's third and fiveand little West Coast offense here to start
off from the old age and youknow, they're they're a great passing team,
like they can get there. Whenthey get their receivers out in space,
they can go and make a play. But this one, Tay Ferguson
just kind of hesitated a little bitbefore making a move. He easily could
have gotten maybe five six, evenprobably the first down if you would have
just gone full speed ahead. However, he waited from behind his blocker and
(02:13):
just nothing was appearing there. Tripsto the right here for Holmberg and on
the near hashmark left to right, third and five, need to forty yard
line, takes the snaplets right theentire way, pumps the pass. Now
he's going to roll out to theright looking for space. Now he stops,
throws down field. It is battedand incomplete, a little bit too
high having a sky for that onewas Ferguson, and he actually left it
back for defensive back who almost madethe interception there. I think that was
(02:37):
Liam Flores. Incomplete fourth and fiveand now an interesting decision early in the
game, and I guarantee that theygo for this right here. They're they're
implus territory. They're able to kindof scheme out and get another first down.
Just with their passing plays that theyalready had out there, and we
are already seen they can get afew chunk plays. They're beautiful job by
Riley Holmberg to roll out and look, keep these eyes down field. But
(03:01):
fourth and five and here's the poochbunt this time, so they look like
they were set up for a passplay. It'll take a Memorial bounce inside
the tent and roll down to aboutthe seven yard line. So Superior backed
up behind their own end zone tostart this strive. Ten nineteen left to
go. First quarter, no score, three and out for Memorial on their
(03:22):
first series, and you saw againthe passing game, but not as effective
as they like, especially against theSuperior defense, which statistically is not great.
No, and especially when they hada few open guys down there.
The thing is they need to kindof get more of their receivers open in
that zone defense that they were playing. You can't just do these tiny short
(03:43):
passes and expect a lot to gofor you. You need to kind of
get a little bit of that mediumchunk yardage there. They went a little
bit conservative start off the drive, and you kind of think that they might
be regretting that soon. Here itis gonna be Tannerlino at the quarterback position
thirteen to twenty four. Come intothe game. He'll fake the handoff,
gonna just run it up the gut, get some decent guardage here. Drive
starting at their own eight yard line, and he moves to the near hash
(04:06):
mark and gets up to about thefourteen. That'll be a six yard gain
here on first down, and that'sa positive yards the cliche gozer as they
like to say that, saying onschedule here or getting maybe a head of
schedule for superior. Oh yeah, definitely. And also that offensive line they
looked great out there. They wereall hitting their assignments and they opened up
(04:26):
such a big hole for Leno tojust cut through. And he's their versatile
guy. He's down his quarterback. However, he can be a quarterback running
back hybrid. He is a prettybig guy. Tatum Clark just to the
left of him as well. SendHi Man in motion, fake the end
around. He's gonna keep it himself. Leno bouncing out, looks like he
may have the first down across thefifteen yard line, very close right at
(04:47):
the eighteen and Jeff Lenahan, thehead official, coming in signaling for a
first down. So four yard game. Two quarterback keepers there, that one
the read option and he gets afirst down on that four yard game and
expect a heavy dose of that runfrom superior team. They do great when
they're kind of doing a little bitof mixture of the double option and a
little bit of the kind of trickerythat they're doing here. Just a great
(05:10):
job, great awareness by Leno tokind of pick and choose which hole to
go down because he's he hesitated alittle bit. However, when he saw
that hole, he fired right throughwith a passion. That was a great
run there. Grant Lockin was inon the tackle there. They will again
fake the hand off. He's gonnakeep it himself right up the gut.
He will trip across the twenty fiveand get ankle tackled down to the twenty
six yard line. See they're gonnagive Julius Clark the tackle on the play.
(05:31):
That's a big an eight yard gamethere on first down for Leno again,
and there's just these short chunk plays. That's exactly what you need to
do. You need you need toestablish yourself as a powerful run team to
be able to open up some stuffin the passing game, which Superior is
not a great passing team. However, they could potentially get some wide open
plays for their skill players if they'reable to run it as successfully as they
(05:55):
are right now. You know,a junior six foot two hundred pounds stands
in the shotgun again, tight formationhere for Superior, and he will give
the end around. This time aroundthe edge goes Lucas Williams. He's got
the first down up across the thirtyand up near the thirty three yard line.
Once again, Clark on the tackle. I will also give blank on
Aman a credit on that tackle aswell, but that is a first down
(06:17):
up to the thirty six yard lineand our thirty four yard line rather about
an eight yard game. And Ottoman'sone of my one of my key players
for this game. To seventy seventackles through his huge his first few games,
especially with Old Clare Memorial being asnot as great as they want to
be. He's that one shining staron this defense. Seventy seven tackles and
(06:38):
three fource fumbles. You gotta knowthat he's gonna be on the watch tonight.
We're gonna give it on the endaround to Williams again moving to the
right side, get got a decentblock as he will kind of lower his
shoulder over the tackler around the fortyyard line out there, the one again
tackled by Grant Lockin, but notafter about a six yard gaining. Right
now, we've got the old fourfive six yards in cloud of dust offense
(06:59):
going on here or a cloud ofa rubber pellets if you will hear at
Carson Park. And they knew thisis exactly what they had to do,
especially against such not a great rundefense as Oh Claire Memorial, who's given
up almost seventeen hundred rushing yards thisyear. Two opponents. If you're Old
Claire Memorial, you need to tightenthis up. You know that they're not
a great passing team right now,Yeah, Rob Scott's gonna take a time
out. Yeah, I mean thestats are a little bit staggering, right
(07:23):
two hundred and ninety three yards pergame is what Memorial is giving up on
the ground. The defense has beena big issue. Again we talk about
the offense. Is there's a timeout here with seven twenty one left to
play in the first quarter, noscore between Superior and Memorial, but Damn.
We talk about, you know, the offense being Again, I don't
think this offense is that bad forMemorial. They can move the ball at
times. Again, They've they've hitsome tough defenses lately in their schedule,
(07:46):
that's for sure, But it's beentheir defense that's been kind of the letdown,
just not getting into gaps. They'vebeen pushed around a little bit up
front, and that's shown in thestatistics. Yeah, and it's almost like
there's just no energy out there onthe defense because if you look at it,
everyone is getting pushed back. There'snot one person ripping off of a
block, especially the D lineman.The d lineman aren't just getting they're just
(08:07):
kind of getting blocked away, kindof just trying to keep some trying to
block up some space, trying tolike get in between people. However,
they're still staying on their blocks. And that's not going to be a good
success for this defense, especially againsta running game that's they're pretty good,
Superior is pretty good. But ifyou're going against a not so great defensive
line and not so great run team, that offense, that running offense is
(08:30):
gonna look great. I mean, you can see what the game plan is
here. It's just run, run, run until they show they can stop
us. Another end around to Williams. Will they stop at this time?
No? Nothing before he gets fiveyards out on the right edge, tackled
on the play by Nolan on him, but not before he gets a first
down. And a lot of theseare just containment issues. If you're able
to kind of get your secondary playersto just batter down, kind of get
(08:54):
inside and not get flushed away bysome wide receiver blocking you down field,
they should be able to stop him. However, they're not able to get
these open field tackles either. Williamscame into this game averaging three point seven
yards per carry on thirty one carriesthis season so far. Eight six and
five. Those are his three carriesalready, first and ten here now from
(09:15):
their own forty five yard line. They fake the handoff, he'll keep it
himself. With Leno up the middle, gets a little bit there of positive
Yardagehoman brings him down about a threeyard game. We're gonna call this one
here. Second and seven coming uphere for Superior as they approach midfield and
Aman' he's just that guy on thatdefense. He's gonna be he's gonna have
(09:35):
that own island about himself out there. We hear about we hear about Rivas
Island all that. We also havea giant linebacker named Ottoman and he's just
gonna be flying everywhere around the field. So keep your eyes on him,
keep your ears feel and listening forhis name, because he's been making the
plays on this defense. Leno,we'll give it to his tailback this time.
Clark running to the right side, gets a couple up to the fifty
(09:56):
yard line. We'll call it agame of two. On the play.
Third and five now from midfield herefor Superior, and they need the forty
five yard line for a first down. And now Oak Clare Memorial is kind
of trying to shure themselves up onthat running attack, finally understanding, Oh
yeah, Superior is just gonna keeprunning over and over and over again until
they can prove that they stop them. While they haven't really stopped them that
(10:18):
much, they've been doing a lotbetter than they have this first few possessions
here. Yeah, now a thirdand five little bit more manageable for Memorial
to maybe get a stop right atmidfield. Just pass midfield here, Leno
will take the snap again, he'llkeep it himself. A little option play
out to the right. He's gotthe first down and more around the edge
at the forty and then he getsbumped out of bounds near the thirty five
(10:39):
yard line. A nice option play. Another little wrinkle on that end around
this time. He didn't give itto Williams, but he kept it had
Williams out to the edge on theoption, kept him himself, and he'll
get to the thirty seven for afirst down. And that's why they have
Tanner Leo in their quarterbacks starting rightnow. They knew they needed someone that's
able to kind of run and getout. But Sam Miller more of a
(11:00):
passing quarterbacks. He's not more ofthat kind of dual threat quarterback that we're
seeing with Tanner Leo, and TannerLeno is also more of a running back
quarterback. I would say vers andten now from a memorial thirty seven yard
line. Five twenty eight left togo, first quarter, no score between
Superior and the Old Abs, andthis time a handoff. We'll go right
up the gut to Clark again, second carry for him in the game,
(11:24):
and he will get about four We'llcall it to the thirty three, maybe
the third, they're gonna give hima thirty two, So a five yard
game there on first down, andagain the big chunks. I don't think
Superior minds. Run some clock, get some first downs, get into the
end zone, because all takes hisone score, one score, and then
you can just run the rest ofthis game away. That's all you have
to do, especially if Memorial isnot going to put up a shot or
(11:46):
put up a good defense against thisrunning game that hasn't been very great this
entire season. Ten plays, allrunning plays so far. Second and five
now and Leno will give it upthe middle of Clark. He's hit it
the line, kept his momentum goingup to the thirty yard line before he
is spun down on the play byGus Schumas, and it'll be about a
(12:07):
three yard gain. Third and twohere for Superior. And that's a great
job by Clark two because he hadgotten hit in the backfield by de More
there and had basically been it's almostalmost stopped, almost stopped in his shoes
right then and there. But Clarkjust kept running his legs and was able
to turn out a couple more yards. We've seen this with like other bigger
running backs. Clark's not the biggestof running backs, but he's playing like
(12:30):
he's a big running back. Thirdand two now, just inside the thirty
yard line, they need the twentyseven for a first down to Superior.
Four oh nine left to go herein the quarter. It is a keeper
this time for Lenoi followed some blockers. He's got the first down and more
up to the twenty five yard line. It's a gain of five on the
play. And again he faked thehandoff and then he followed his tailback in
(12:50):
Clark just right up the middle andused him as a blocker. Got five
yards on a first down. AndI feel like there's just not enough communication
on this Oaklare Memorial defense because they'renot calling out whether it's run or a
pass. Usually, on most likehigh school football teams, your coaches pressing
into your head, Hey call arunner pass, especially the D lineman.
But right now it's almost like theydon't know what's going on whatsoever. Even
(13:11):
while the play is unfolding, they'rejust kind of running and hitting each other.
Yeah, they just need to kindof buckle down here. They need
something to go their way at thispoint. Does oak Claire Memorial and they
won't get it that way. Isat another run around the edge, this
one again for Williams, and hegets near the first down mark, or
he's very close to it. Ithink they're gonna mark him about a half
(13:31):
a yard short. So we'll callit a nine yard game. Second and
one year for Superior up to justoutside the fifteen yard line. And while
they might pick up this first downand looking very likely, this is the
perfect place to get a major, major stop. If you're this Oak Claire
Memorial defense, you were close thelast couple of times you've you've forced them
to go and make a play onthird down. Now, let's see if
(13:54):
you can kind of tighten up here. Three o seven remaining here in this
quarter, and a get around theedge goes. Williams lowers his shoulder toward
the pylon as he gets inside thefive, and he's just pushed out of
bounds. They're gonna mark him justshort at the one yard line. Another
fifteen yard game on the same endaround play. That's five times that they've
run that end around play with Williamsand he is just rattling off the yards
(14:18):
and now they are a yard awayor Superior from their first score of the
game. And that's a great thingabout having a guy like Williams on your
team. He is an absolute speedster, and they knew that they can beat
him around the edges. That's whythey keep doing those end a rounds because
right now they're not showing that theycan stop it whatsoever. The containment on
those left and right sides are justnot clapsing. Well, you know,
we'll give it to Williams on theend around to the pylon. He is
(14:39):
in for the touchdown on a oneyard score. Two forty six remaining in
the first quarter, and Superior scoresto take the lead. Here over memorially
owen six Superior Spartans with the firstlead. And right now they're all firing
out. They're all firing at willright now, and they're they're looking like
they want to get their first winhere now. It's gonna be interesting to
(15:00):
see how the old Abs will kindof come back from this, because we
saw three three passes start off thegame and then punch right away, all
of them just not getting anywhere asthis one rules out of the hands of
the kicker. Yeah, right backin and the ball is on the turf.
It'll be a botch snap, noextra points, so a six nothing
lead here for the Spartans, twoforty six remaining in the first corner.
(15:24):
We'll take quick break me back rightafter this right here on Classic Rock ninety
two one. This is so clearhigh school football. On Classic Rock ninety
two one, he'll find run cardFord you we'll lea on Birch Street and
(15:48):
Clarious Tree. Is that so yourhome for the old names is Classic Rocket
two one. Welcome back in onceagain. Here too, Carson Park.
(16:11):
It is a sixth nothing lead, four superior over Oak Claire Memorial and Dan.
You know, my stats are neveraccurate, but from what I can
count, that was a fifteen play, ninety two yard drive seven minutes thirty
three seconds. Williams runs it infrom a yard out and there were no
pass plays on that track. Absolutely, I mean that's a dominant I mean
that's boy, that's somebody from thecoach in the sixties would love that drive
(16:33):
right absolutely, And that's just demoralizingas a defense. It's a bit of
a squid kick here to the nearestSyby taken by one of the upbacks here
for Memorial up across the forty tothe forty two yard line. We'll go
Gus Schumus actually ran into one ofhis own guys, kind of get knocked
a little funny there, but hegets up to the forty two and Memorial
will have good field position to start, and he went three and out on
(16:55):
their first drive. But after thatrunning drive that we saw from Superior,
you get a feeling like they needan answer here. Oh yeah, definitely,
because now Superior realizes, oh wait, we can just keep running the
ball against these guys and this justmight be that kind of game for Superior.
You're here, obviously it's working.Obviously they hadn't had to throw a
pass. Let's see if they'll actuallymix in some running plays here on this
(17:17):
drive for the Old Aves, OldAbs will go from the shotgun here it's
Riley Holmberg. Two receivers left, two tight ends right. They're gonna shift
those tight ends to the left side, kind of an unbalanced formation now pistol
formation as well, with Simmons behindhim, and he will hand it off
to Simmons running left. He's gotsome good running room across the forty five
taken down up near the forty eightyard line. That's nice run of about
(17:38):
seven maybe six yards there on firstdown, taken down on the play by
Seth Sherman had a six yard gamesecond and four. Hey. By the
way, oh Claire North with anearly seven nothing lead in Hudson right now,
six seventeen left to go in thefirst quarter there, so North with
a good early drive to get inon the board and they were up on
(17:59):
the undefeated Hudson and Hudson actually hada drive before then too, so that
means Oa clear North had to stopon that Hudson offense that's been so potent
this entire season. Once again, they're gonna shift those tight ends from the
left to the right side. WonderMemorial just kind of give Superior little dose
of their own medicine. After thatdrive, they're gonna give it to Simmons
again, trying to bounce it outright looking at Cutty Will at the fifties.
(18:21):
Got the first down up near theforty seven maybe the forty six of
Superior and another nice solid run ofabout six yards first down old Aves one
forty seven left to go in thefirst quarter, six nothing Superior and that
was a beautiful, beautiful run blockthere by Caden Olson, because that play
would have been completely blown up hadhe not gotten too that linebacker. He
got. He absolutely got into thechest the linebacker and then drove him all
(18:45):
the way back and that just resultedin a great first down run. And
then they kept pushing the pile. You see this old ABS teams all fired
up. Now two receivers go laugh, two tight ends to the ride again
and there's the same exact shift. They'll send those tight ends to the left
ball the middle hash mark at theforty six of superior and the snap taking
a little bit high, but they'llhand it off to Simmons countering left.
(19:07):
Tries to get through the hole.He does, takes a hard hit across
the forty five at the forty four, fell up maybe to the forty three.
They're gonna mark him at the fortyfour and it'll be second in about
night seven somewhere in there here forthe old age. And that was great
patience by Shamar Simmons. By theway, he almost got blown up in
the backfield, but in said, made a beautiful, beautiful cut to get
(19:30):
a little bit more space. Itonly resulted in about two or three yards.
However, he still made the mostout of nothing. Simmons is a
guy who came into the game averagingthree and a half yards per carry,
three touchdowns, three hundred twenty sevenyards. Again, the age just don't
really go that route too often. Now they're gonna go a little pro set
here, two tailbacks flanking Holmberg inthe backfield, one receiver left, one
(19:51):
right. He will give the handoffto Simmons, follows the blocker hit in
the backfield, but he falls forward. Initially getting to him back there was
Jonah Burns, but then he kindof broke the arm tackle. Got a
couple more yards up to the fortyone and our third and much more manageable
about third and five. And that'sthe one thing I can that's the one
(20:11):
thing that's similar between these two defenses, as they love to arm tackle.
A lot of these a lot ofthese plays should have been blown up in
the backfield. However, you're seeinga lot of just kind of reaches,
reaches for the jersey, and thenobviously these strong running backs are able to
just blow right through them. Awhistle. Because we are now at the
end of quarter number one, Spartansfrom Superior leading six nothing ear of the
(20:33):
old Ames big third and five comingup for a memorial when we come back
right after this on Classic Rock ninetytwo one. This is so clear high
school football. On Classic Rock ninetytwo one. Let's use a football metaphor
in your home. You're the quarterback. Now, who would you want your
front fine asshault, No, thefearsome form rain, hail, wind and
(20:56):
snow and blow right throw at assball line for real action. You want
yorks frand metal roofy because hit afterhit, year after years. Metal roofing
will keep you protected with a fiftyyear non pro rated and transferable warrant two
three, seven, twenty six, seventy eight. Your home for the old

Ames is Classic Rock two one.Welcome back in here too. Carson park
A six nothing leading for Superior overMemorial. As we get set for the
start of the second quarter, thirdand five four Memorial coming up at the
Superior forty one yard line as theteam switch ends Memorial now moving from right
to left real quickly North leading Hudsonseven nothing. About five minutes left in
(21:41):
the first quarter. There no scorebetween Riverfalls and Chippewa. I'll give you
a couple more scores after this playhere's Holmberg in the shotgun. He will
not give the hand up and saidpasses out left side. Catch made,
but an immediate tackle made. Thecatch made on on the edge by Wigel,
but he was tackled absolutely immediately byEvan Blomfeldt. We'll get a couple
to the thirty nine. Just atwo yard game. Fourth and three now
(22:03):
for the Old Ages, and youfeel like they kind of have to go
for this here. They allowed Superiorto not only rush down to the from
their own eight yard line all theway across the field in fifteen plays and
take off an entire just quarters worthof o'clock. They almost it feels like
they almost have to be here.I know it's still early, but it
(22:23):
feels like momentums on Superior side.Right. I do think you're gonna see
the pooch punt this time. Threereceivers are the right, one to the
left. Here at the thirty nine, the thirty six back to Pascoes Homeburg
looks over the middle, wants togo deep. He's got a man caught
at the ten five touchdown Old AgesMemorials tay Ferguson wide open a thirty nine
yard touchdown strike and it's now tiedat six, Yer with eleven ten leapt
(22:47):
to go in the second quarter andtay Ferguson does that. Wow, what
great speed frohim. He blew theentire top off. That defensive got behind
him so quickly, by the way, beautiful job by the offensive line to
keep all that pressure away. Therewas not a single soul that was in
that backfield, giving Holmberg just plentyof time to get a pass. And
(23:08):
they have such great playmakers on thereceiving squad for this Memorial team that you
cannot you cannot not pressure Holmberg. You need to get some hands in his
face. Beautiful job to throw though. Extra point here to be attempted and
is up and good from Vincent Mullen. It is seven to six. Memorial
(23:30):
takes the lead, eleven ten leftto go. Second quarterback after this right

the Old Abes is Classic Rock twoone. Welcome Mack once again at Carson
Park. A six play, fiftyeight yard drive for Folklare Memorial lasts a
little over three minutes and they getin for their first score of the game
of thirty nine yard touchdown pass fromHollenburg to Ferguson seven to six Old Abes
with the lead eleven ten left togo here in the second quarter. Kickoff
(24:40):
coming here for the Old Abes andback to return for Superior will be Teenam
Clark. You know parton me.It will be taken rather by Tucker Frasier
Berthumb Berthume rather, and he'll getit across the twenty five up to the
twenty eight yard line. Yeah, and that is where Superior will take over
(25:02):
again. They went ninety two yardson their first drive, so they certainly
feel that but maybe a little bitmomentum back to Memorial after that drive,
and maybe the defense will buckle downa bit. Yeah, I'm almost really
hoping to see this team buckle down, kind of make him more interesting than
run run, run, run, because Superior is just gonna melt this whole
game away. If that's the case, they they will keep, they will
(25:25):
running. They love to only haveabout four or five possessions maybe total in
this game, at least, itseems like with the way they started things
out all right. So once againit will be Leno back in the shotgun
formation, sends a man in motion. He will keep it himself again on
the readoption. Big run here acrossthe thirty thirty five and fell on it
up of the pile. I thinkhe's got ten yards and the first down
there. I saw a couple ofguys on Himan was in on the tackle
(25:48):
with others. But that's a tenyard gain and a first down here for
Superior. Just a massive chunk playthere, kind of showing they're almost showing
exactly the same the same scheme thatthey started off that first half or the
first quarter with, which is justrun QB option run again outside run.
Now, let's see what kind ofa run they have cooking up here.
(26:10):
By my count Lino has fifty yardson the ground himself already quarterback for Superior
first and ten from their own thirtyeight yard line this time, and give
to Clark up the gut. Hegot bounced off a tackle there at the
forty and then maybe got for progressof the forty one again, got arm
tackle. Almost looked like he wentbackwards on his own there to try to
maybe find a hole. Yeah,I'll get it up to the forty one
(26:30):
yard line for a first sound.Yeah, he tried doing a little spin
move on that one and just kindof bounced off of a defender and then
went backwards to try and get hisfooting back on place and then just got
brought down by the entire Oaklere Memorialdefense. The entire Memorial sideline just got
really excited because Matthew Wanky, he'sa five foot seven hundred and fifteen pounds
(26:51):
sophomore, just got into the gameup on the defensive line. They wanted
to get him in early tonight, and a fun story for him as he
now gets in there and they've gota little rudy situation happening here in the
second quarter, and he'll try toget in the backfield. He does,
but they'll run to the opposite sideand get a decent gain up to the
forty four yard line. Here willsuperior. Yeah, that's Sam Hoff on
(27:11):
the run. And it's now thirdand about four and he's a and they're
obviously trying to do everything they canto see what kind of scheme is gonna
work against this run heavy offense. And having a quicker defensive linemen up there
kind of helps sometimes to be ableto just slip right between the tackles.
(27:32):
However, if you're gonna have someonesmall like you, gotta make sure that
he's gonna be able to tackle though, be able to kind of grab onto
the legs and pull down a runningback in the backfield. Came off the
field already, but was in fora play there. They will again put
that read option Playlano just run tothe right. He's got the first down
up near the fifty yard line, six yard gain, and again he reads
(27:52):
it nicely because he sees that wholeopen up. You see, the eyes
kind of got big, and hejust hit the whole hard six yards first
down. And he's a very justpatient runner in general. He kind of
see we saw this a lot withKim Olsen and in the Oak Claire North
game, just kind of like waitingand kind of picking out a hole,
kind of getting like kind of settingback and just waiting for it all to
(28:14):
open up. Because they have apretty good offensive line here and they're kind
of showing it tonight. They havesome big size on them too. Seven
six old age superior. With theball, they're gonna give it to hof
on an end around right to left, and he's got good yardage across the
forty five ball came out, butthe officials saying he was down at the
forty four yard line. That wasinteresting. He looked like he may have
fallen on top of a body andnot on the turf. Hard for us
(28:34):
to see when the knee came downfrom our spot. Damn a boy.
That was I think a lot closerthan maybe the officials thought right away.
And for all the missed queues thatare happening on this Memorial defense, the
one thing that can be said aboutthem is they force fumbles. I mean
they're leading Tackler has three forced fumblesthis season. They have about five or
six force fumbles in total. Whichis a crazy statistic to have. They
(28:56):
can turn team teams over quite abit. Second and four now at the
Memorial forty four yard line, eightminutes left to go, Memorial by one,
seven to six. Only the seconddrive of the game for Superior.
Again, he'll keep it himself, but he does not have much this time.
Does Lino up to about the fortytwo yard line. We'll call it
a two yard game. Third andtwo now for Superior, they need the
(29:18):
forty yard line for a first down. And that was great, great recognition
there by Luke Johnson who just kindof filled that gap immediately and just sat
down. Did not let ten orLino do what he's been doing all game,
which is kind of wait around forthe lineman to kind of pick apart
the defenders and make up a hugehole. Instead, he attacked, and
(29:40):
said Johnson attacked immediately and took downLino. And now we have a third
down situation. Let's see what Memorialhas a planned for this third and two.
Indeed, they will keep it withLeno bounces around an attacker who got
into the backfield. There. Onceagain, Schuma's got some great penetration,
but he wasn't able to get him, he's got the first down up to
the thirty five yard line. Sevenyard games. Schumus was the guy to
(30:02):
try to tackle him, but hejust kind of slide stepped around him for
that seven yard game. Yeah, and that's been that's been almost the story
of this defense for this Memorial team. They can get some penetration. However,
Superior is kind of taking advantage ofthat because while they have great penetration,
they're not sitting and kind of waitingto go make a tackle. Instead,
they're just running right by everyone, kind of letting them get open field
(30:26):
space and be able to make plays. First and ten from the Memorial thirty
five yard Linealino keeps it again onthe read option, breaks a tackle initially,
then gets taken down and up beforehe kind of a tackler on his
back. He rides up to aboutthe thirty yard line against Schumis and on
the tackle and again just see onHiman in there as well. But it's
one of those where Leno's just kindof chunking these yards. I mean,
(30:48):
he sees where he can get positiveyardage. Maybe he's not gonna break one,
but if he can get five,he's fine with it. No,
that's just kind of the way thatSuperio is gonna play this game, because
until Superior is getting until Superior's rungame is, they're gonna keep just getting
chunk plays here and there. Secondand five from the thirty yard line of
Memorial. Here on the far hashmark, they send a man in motion.
It is a give on the endaround this time to Nick Zaur and
(31:11):
he will get tripped up back atthe thirty yard line as knee went down
back there, thought he got acouple more yards. They go to the
one of the backup running backs whogets nothing. In fact, might even
lost a half a yard. Thirdand five now from the Memorial thirty yard
line, five forty two left toplay, second quarter in the clock ticking,
And if you're Ethan Bump who madethat tackle, technically, you gotta
(31:32):
keep running with those legs. Yougotta keep pushing the running back to the
ground because you are not going tobe able to just let them go after
the end of that half the time, especially where a play that could have
maybe been called another big chunk playthere if that knee wouldn't have been down.
But you gotta keep those tackles going. Memorial student's gonna make some noise
or they're gonna get into half.On the end round, he's got a
(31:53):
big hole over on the left sideacross the twenty. He's taken down about
the eighteen yard line at twelve yardgame. They give it to Hawp on
the end around a lot of endarounds in this. It's not really a
spread formation, this shotgun formation rather, and boy, they're really extending and
getting around this Memorial defense. Yeah, and a lot of this is a
shotgun formation. As there's an injuryon the field. A lot of their
(32:15):
is in shotgun formation because they're ableto wait for these blockers to get to
their assignments. Because their blocking hasbeen absolutely terrific. They've opened up so
many holes for the superior offense tobe able to cut by and make open
field plays. And this Memorial teamsnot making them, not making them pay
for having to hesitate before making aplayer running. If you're Memorial, you
(32:38):
need to start getting some pressure upin there, whether that's changing some players
out, maybe making a personnel movesto get some quicker guys that are able
to get into the backfield better, and trying to take a quick look around
here. At the scores from aroundthe Big Rivers Conference. So give me
a quick update here. Chippu Onriverfalls seven seven with six twenty left to
(32:58):
go in the second quarter. ThereMarshfield with a seven nothing lead on Monominee
in their game. They are notquite out of the first quarter, I
believe now there just into the secondquarter, ten forty seven left to go
in that one. Stanley Boyd leadingsixteen to I believe, I believe eight.
I think it's eight. They've gotthe scoreboard a little bit to blurry
(33:19):
there on our screen. We'll seewhen can get an update there as well.
Hudson and North again. Hudson isthreatening to score again after they are
just one point down seven to sixto a Clare North first and ten now
from the eighteen yard line up Memorial. It's a hand up, handoff up
the gut rather to Clark. He'llget four in progress maybe to the sixteen
yard line, got shunted back bya couple different old abes. Kovac was
(33:43):
there and Jack Glazier was there aswell. They'll give it a yard maybe
two second and eight. And thatwas one of those big Vacoviak brothers there,
both of them six foot four, two hundred and fifty pounds compared to
the other one, which is threehundred. But bran o yea, I
had a great penetration and did exactlywhat you needed to do, which is
just grab onto the running back andhold on for dear life. He's heavy
(34:07):
enough to bring down that guy. You're gonna give another end around this time.
They'll go right to left on thisaround the edge of the fifteen down
to maybe the twelve yard line. They carry from Patrick Sambrowski, I believe
who got it there, one ofthe backup running backs into this game as
senior, and he'll get a prettygood gain up to about the thirteen yard
line. And now I'm about thirdand four here for Superior and Superior just
(34:32):
taking away the clock. They're fineplaying the possession game right now. They're
in no hurry with this four minutekind of four minute now taking off the
clock. Twelve plays now, thirteenthplay of this drive already Reme where they
scored on a fifteen play drive earlier, three forty three left to go in
the quarter. Already, they willfumble this end around a hawf. He's
(34:53):
gonna try to get back to theline of scrimmage, but won't. He
fumbled it back near the eighteen yardline, then got to the fifteen before
he was pushed back by a numberof old ages. No one, odamn
was the Manda. I think finishhim off there. But that's a loss
of a couple And now I believethe field goal unit coming out here for
the Spartans down seven to six withthree twenty left to go in the second
(35:13):
quarter, and that was a shamebecause that was that could have been a
touchdown right there. Honestly, thehole had opened up for Hoff, but
Hoff was just not able to geta good hold on the ball that had
gotten thrown a little bit behind himon that end around. His field goal
is in the range of about thirtytwo yards and it is certainly long enough
from Williams and it is good thirtytwo yard or is good apartment from Lino
(35:37):
rather, and he kicks it throughnine to seven, Spartans lead at three
oh one left to go second quarterbackafter this right here on Classic Rock ninety
two one, this is so clearhigh school football on Classic Rock ninety two
one. What do you get witha boiler repaired diagnostic from war Scala Plumbing

(36:00):
boiler service and installations. Maybe it'scracking noises, follow orders, no hot
water, or the boilers on,but not heating. Where Scala will diagnose
the problem and give you all thebest options for a smooth heating season.
Call one eight hundred three oh sevennine thousand, or go to where Scala
dot com. Your home for theold Ames is classic rock clinging back in
(36:30):
here two Carson Park Superior takes backthe lead of thirty two yard field goal
from Tannerlino takes at nine to sevenhere in favor of Superior. Another long
drive fourteen plays sixty yards when eightminutes in one second and another big chunk
of time off the clock. Justthree minutes left to play here in the
quarter, and it will be takenhere on the return by Ferguson, trying
(36:53):
to bounce all right, he breaksa deck on at the thirty far sideline
of the forty as Lino to beatof svoids its tackle initially across the fifty
and then is saken down across theforty five a Superior near the forty three
yard line. Stiff arm and sometacklers, but again another big lane on
the return in great field position herefor Memorium, and that was just great
blocking. They completely sealed off theentire left side, which most of those
(37:17):
superior players were on. But thenthe Memorial was able to kind of block
the correct way and then they hitlet Tay hit those angles and man if
Leno wasn't there, that was atouchdown. Hudson has scored again. They
lead thirteen to seven over Oaklare Northend of the first quarter. In that
one, again Chippua and River fallstied at seven. It is New Richmond
(37:38):
up seven nothing amnominee at last checkin the second quarter there and once again
Stanley Boy with the lead on regissixteen to eight. I believe eleven fourteen
left to go. Second quarter Inthat one, three receivers left, one
right here for Holmburg. Homeburg witha slant route caught across the forty sheds
a tackler there just ferguson at thethirty eight yard line and then falls up
near the thirty six yard line.In the end, Tapple came from one
(38:01):
of the linemen who'd come back.Gavin reward and that will be about an
eight yard gain second and two,and this is where they thrive. They
have a good passing offense, eventhough it might not look the prettiest on
paper, but this is where. This is their offense. They live for
two minutes drills and here they are. Now they have a chance to score.
(38:21):
Right here. Ferguson already up tofifty yards receiving tonight two receivers right,
two left, ball middle hash markfor Holmberg. He'll hand it off
this time to Simmons. He shouldhave the first down, got up ended
across about the thirty four and fellto the thirty one yard line, a
gain of five on the play forSimmons and apartment four. They're gonna mark
into the thirty two and it's afirst down here for the old Age.
(38:42):
And you can already tell that superiordefense is selling out on the pass.
They know that they're not going torun as much. And man, were
they wrong on that one, becausethat was a beautiful four yard play.
Didn't amount too much, but itmounted enough for the first down. And
right now you still have enough timeto run some more plays and get a
score here, just one fifty lefthere in the throw it over the middle,
incomplete. Ball got their right asa defender did well, defended in
(39:05):
fact by pot Patrick Zamborski, ratherright over the middle for hide Key and
Boy, they kind of met rightas the ball got their no flag on
the play incomplete second and ten.And the only thing that I will say
is that this offensive line for Memorialhas been holding up very well against the
superior defensive line that just hasn't beenable to get enough pressure. That's kind
of the same story with the Memorialdefense line. Either of them are able
(39:30):
to kind of get pressure on theirrespective offensive lines. Stopped on the incompletion
one forty five left in the quarter. They throw it over the middle,
catch at the twenty five, butnot much more there for Bryce head Key,
he'll get eight on the play thirdand two. Now for the old
Abes at the superior of twenty fouryard line, and they're moving quickly too.
(39:50):
Now they're trying to keep that superiordefense off guard, trying to get
any kind of way to just throwthem off. They've got three time all
three time outs left, one twentyleft. Go a little counterplay for Simmons,
gets hit in the backfield. Canhe get to the line to gain
he is close, very close, neither the twenty two. The clock's ticking
right here. Let's see if theofficials stop the clock to measure. I
(40:12):
don't think they will. They're gonnaspot it about a half a yard short
on a one yard gain for Simmons, and that was a great job by
Simmons another time where he got hitin the backfield. However, this time
he's stiff arms and just ripped rightoff of that defensive lineman gains a couple
more about half a yard more thanhe probably should have seen. This Oaklare
Memorial team moves been pretty pretty. How about this under center goes Homeberg on
(40:36):
fourth and inches. Now a whistleand I think a time out from all
Memorial is gonna take a forty oneseconds remain here in the quarter. Again,
they had all three timeouts remaining aswell, so they'll take one there
to burn it and to stop theclock as well. It's fourth down.
You want to make sure you havethe best play that you can have in
there, and that's exactly what they'lldo again. A couple of updates for
(40:59):
you from around the Big Rivers conference. Seven to nothing, New Richmond with
the lead on Menominee in the secondquarter. There they have it looks like
about eight minutes left to play inthat quarter. It is in River Falls.
A quick update fourteen to seven RiverFalls with the lead on chip with
three minutes left to go in thesecond quarter of that one, and Hudson
(41:21):
and North Hudson has a thirteen sevenlead on the Huskies and the ball back
with ten nineteen left to go inthe second quarter of that contest. I'm
gonna say tune a half time again. It is a homecoming here and we
will get you some more score updates. We'll get you some final line stats
from that first half as well.Again. Memorial has played well here tonight,
(41:43):
but again Superiors rush offense has beensort of the I think the storyline
early here. They lead at nineto seven, Memorial gonna go for it
here. It's just a wildcat runup the gut for Simmons. I think
he's got enough a direct snap tohim. The officials are coming in,
marking it at the twenty one. That's I mean, they needed the twenty
two. This looks like a firstdown, but no official signal given yet.
(42:06):
They'll stop the clock to remove thebodies from the pile and Jeff Lenahan
will give him the first down,so gain him two and a first down
for the old names. So theygotta get up there and hurry or else
burn another time out. Yeah, and they have the timeouts to burn too,
But they're moving pretty quickly on thisoffense. And they will get up
to the line. Two receivers leftto right, and now I'll whistle and
(42:28):
a timeout from superior here twenty sevenseconds left, and I mean they're about
to snap the ball. I don'tthink that's necessarily a bad time out here,
and they're not trying to, youknow, save time I think for
their possession here, Dan, theywant to make sure they got the right
defense style up because you know, you're you're you're cued in on trying to
stop the run there on that fourthdown. Now, all of a sudden,
back to the spread, they mightnot have the right personnel on the
(42:49):
field. No, they definitely wentbig with that one. So they definitely
have been because I just saw acouple of people go in from like sidelines
come into the pile there and acouple of go back, So definitely was
a personnel thing. And they definitelywant because at this point, you're not
going to be able to have anotherchance on the field more than likely,
and if you do, it's probablyjust gonna be to run the ball out.
However, what they want to dois make sure that they that Memorial
(43:10):
doesn't score, because right now theSpartans have the lead. They've been able
to run this very efficiently and takea ton a ton of time off the
clock. They basically ran away theentire first quarters. I remember that Superior
will get the ball to start thesecond half as well, So this is
kind of a big defensive So Imean, you stop here, I mean
it's almost like you're stopping getting thatextra possession and to start the second half
(43:32):
as well. You get the lead, you're gonna have the ball. Everything
coming up coming up roses for theSpartans start the second half, But they
need to stop first first and tenhere from the twenty one yard line of
Superior for Memorial. Twenty seven secondsleft. They have one time out remaining
nine to seven. Here there's achance of the right side. It is
up one handed grab attempt from Clarktrying to do his best Odell Beckham Junior
(43:57):
impersonation that was overthrown. There nochance for him in complete second and ten.
They marked the time out on theboard to the old age. I
thought Superior took that one. Ithink we're two and two for timeouts up
there instead of three and one asit says on the scoreboard. But I
could be wrong. Yeah, I'vebeen wrong. You're right. No,
No, you're right, because theydid take a time out because they signaled
towards the Spartans. Let's might bea might be an error on the clock
(44:20):
there two receivers left, two tothe right. Again, Clark with that
acrobatic attempt, but couldn't quite comedown with it. Homber back to pass.
No pressure here from Superior again,He's gonna try to go to the
far sideline. It is up andis it caught in the corner? It
is not. They want to flag. They won't get one defender over there
again. They went for head keyand the defender on the play for Superior
(44:42):
I believe was Flora's and he neverreally turned around. Damn. But I
don't think he made a ton ofcontact either, No, he didn't.
He was just playing them very closely. They were both kind of getting a
little handsy out there, too,so it was almost It was almost like
you couldn't call it one way oranother because either way it just it was
just a kind of stalemate there. So fifteen can s now remain here in
the quarter, clock stopped on theincompletion three receivers left, one right,
(45:04):
third and ten here from the superiortwenty one yard line home we're going the
shotgun far Hash takes the snap, looks over the middle of some pressure coming
steps up, rolls away from it. He's gonna run with this to the
twenty, to the fifteen, tothe ten, looking at the angle of
the end zone. He gets thrownout at the five yard line. Was
six seconds remaining here in the half, and I believe Rob Scott was up
in the air the official to callthe time out, and he will take
(45:27):
into the six yard line officially seventeenyard game and again I believe they have
one time out left, regardless ofwhat says on the scoreboard there and there
you go. All right, soyou got a first some goal from the
five now officially, and Dan,well, you gotta go to the end
zone. I mean, I guesshe could kick the field goal here,
try to take the lead that waydown nine to seven, But I just
(45:50):
get the feeling the way this season'sgone that Old Abs are gonna try to
get this one in the end zone. No, yeah, and they mean
a lot for them to score righthere, especially because of how how they
allowed Superior to kind of gas themin that run game on defense. If
you score right here and then gointo the half of a big lead like
they would, that would just goa long way for this Memorial team.
(46:12):
And you could just take a shotat the end zone too. You just
have enough time and if it ends, Yeah, it's quick, right,
I mean, you're probably not gonnarun all six seconds off the clock here,
and you do have one more timeout. I believe. Yeah.
Again, it doesn't say that onthe scoreboard, but I believe that is
the case. Two receivers left toright in the shotgun Homer quick pass over
on a slant play. No,it's a fade route to Clark in the
corner of the end zone. Hehad me fool Clark guy to catch touchdown.
(46:37):
Old ends two seconds raight and ahalf. A little buzzer beater here
at the end of the half fora memorial They take back the lead and
I'll lead thirteen to nine over superior, And that was a beautifully drawn up
play. You know he had thatin his back pocket waiting for the right
time to use it. This wasthe right time to use it, and
they got, and they got takeClark wide open on that route. Just
(47:00):
the kind of little misdirection in thatpassing game with those slants going back and
forth, and Clark was able tokind of just fizzle out on the backside
and go for a fade route. It looked like you overthrew him. I
had, honestly looked. I thoughthe was going for the slants on the
inside, but no fade route totake Clark Clark to that corner right in
front of the Memorial band here onhomecoming night. Extra point is up and
(47:22):
good. It is now fourteen tonine Old Age leading. Two seconds remain
here in the first half. We'lltake quick break. Be back right alfter
this here on Classic Rock ninety twoone. This is so clear high school
football. On Classic Rock ninety twoone. I was down on my luck.
(47:42):
My car was a piece of luck. Only I found King Otto.
King showed me that they drew mekid. I went down to Bird Street
and up. I got a greatdeal, though. Stuff them yea king
(48:04):
to your Home for the Old Ageis Classic Rock ninety two one. Well,
what a drive would a play there? To Julius Clark on the touchdown
pass from Riley Holmberg. He hastwo touchdown passes already here on the night
and continues to add to the total. Also had a great scramble there to
get a pick up a first downand get Royal set up for that touchdown
(48:29):
fourteen to nine, two seconds remaininghere in this first half memorial with the
lead here on homecoming, remember Superioris going to get the ball to start
the second half. This one's gonnago on a bounce. I mean,
they're gonna get this ball at thethirty five yard line. Now, you
know, we haven't seen Superior throw, but I guess we're gonna find out
maybe. I mean, my guestsare gonna take a knee here, But
I think it'd be fun to atleast try, wouldn't it. I'm then
(48:52):
win it, you're back, Imean, yeah, it's I mean.
And also the thing is it's alsoan Owen six team here. They want
to win at any cost. Andwhile they do get the ball back in
the second half, I think it'dbe important to them to go for at
least something here towards the end ofit, especially if they're going to be
given such good field position. Sothe thirty five near hash mark is where
(49:14):
let's drive officially will start. JeffLenahan will confirm that the ball went out
of bounds again, likely gonna justsee a kneel down. But if they
do go for it, how theyare going to go with the shotgun here
for Leno. Two receivers sack left, one right. Maybe try to catch
Memorial loft guard with a run play. He'll keep it himself running left.
(49:36):
I'm gonna get a couple here tothe thirty eight yard line thirty nine,
so he'll get a cool padding ofthe rush stats for him. A fourteen
to nine lead for the Old Abesat halftime and none of what we expected
here tonight. Superior ran a lotright round the clock quite a bit here
Dan as well, but for themost part, Memorial hung in there.
They did what they needed to do, some nice pass plays to get him
(49:57):
in the end zone. Superio isgonna get the ball to start the second
half. Imagine Memorial, especially afterthe defense struggled the first couple of drives
against superior. They gotta like thebounce back from the offense. Oh yeah,
and especially the defense too, becausethey definitely sure it up in that
second quarter. It may have beentowards the end of it, and it
may have been because of a fumble. However, it was because of defensive
interruption that caused that fumble. Sothey are getting a little better on defense,
(50:22):
especially that offensive consistency. Now,now we saw that two minute drill,
well it was more of a threeminute drill, but that two minute
drill from Holmberg there leading the offense, he looks so poisoned, confident just
the entire way through. I certainlydid. And again Memorial here on homecoming
leading at home fourteen to nine onthe Spartans. Here as we go to
(50:42):
halftime, we will add up theother scorers, will add up the stats.
Get already for the second half. After taking this extended break. Again,
Peka Nuts and danzons with you onhomecoming for Memorial. Memorial leads fourteen
to nine over the Spartans on halftime. Right here on Classic Rock two Dat
time show. If Pete Canutson isnext, This is ou Claire High School
(51:04):
football on Classic Rocke Hey, welcomeback, in once again at Carson Park.
It is halftime between oak Claire Memorialand Superior here tonight, fourteen to
nine the Old Abes with the leadon Superior. It is homecoming for Memorial
here tonight. Pete Knutson, Danzon'swith you, seansccoback in studio. You
are listening to Memorial football right hereon Classic Rock ninety two one FM WM
(51:27):
and q Mnominee ou Clare, ChipwaFalls and iHeart Radio station again at fourteen
nine league. We'll get to thestats in a second. Quick look around
the BRC and at that Regions StanleyBoyd game, it's fourteen to seven River
Falls with the lead on Chipwa. That one at the start of the second
half, just underway there right nowin Hudson, I believe it's still at
(51:47):
halftime, Yes, a twenty threeseven league for Hudson over Eau Claire North
and up in Stanley Boyd they arewarming up. Sixteen all is the score
between Regis and Stanley Boyd at halftimethere and again they are almost ready for
the start of the second half. They're still halftime in New Richmond, New
(52:08):
Richmond with a fourteen nothing lead onManominee here tonight. That's important. Again,
New Richmond is undefeated. They're tryingto go to seven oh five and
oh in conference. Hnominee of courseis on the bubble if you will.
One more win for sure gets himin the playoffs at three and one in
conference five and one overall. Soyou know, Hudson's certainly rooting for Menominee
(52:28):
tonight, but New Richmond has otherplans. We've seen them once. They've
been very good. In fact,we're gonna see New Richmond here next week
against Oak Claire North, and oakClaire North still might be trying to punch
a ticket in if they can't makea comeback against Hudson, Dan and Boy.
All of a sudden, the oakClare North, that great start they
had maybe some of their more easyopponents early in the season, they're getting
(52:49):
the hard ones now and they're startingto feel it as well. So if
they can't make a comeback against Hudson, they're gonna have to maybe be trying
to deal a team that could bestill undefeated at a loss next week here
at Carson Park, and especially withthe injuries that they've had, especially recently
with their tight end, and notonly their wide receiver corps too. Just
not a lot of good luck forthem here and facing off against really tough
(53:12):
opponents, facing off against really justhard places to be in, especially that
Manominee field against Stout Field, Ishould say against Monominee there, that was
a hard one to watch. Ithink they could maybe potentially they'd have to
get a good win here against oneof these good teams, and that will
show what kind of a team theyare. If they're able to get a
win against one of these good teams, they're gonna be going on making the
(53:34):
playoffs. If they can't get itnext week, then it would be on
the road or River Falls would bethe last chance to do that. So
interesting this final few weeks. It'sgonna beat tough. There's a lot of
teams they're gonna be hanging their hatson one win or what I mean,
just trying to get in. That'swhat's exciting about. So what's exciting about
this one between Memorial and Superior. Both teams need to win to keep the
playoff hopes alive. Fourteen to nineOld Age with the league kickoff coming here
(53:59):
to start the second half, andonce again back to return for Superior will
be Tucker Fraser Perthume and it willgo to him as well. Scoop it
up. No, he will fellover. He's down at the seven yard
line. He caught it and thenhis feet went out from under him and
his knee went down. No returnand terrible field position to start the half
(54:20):
here for the Spartans. And that'sthe hard part about high school of footballs.
No matter what if your knee goesdown, no matter what part of
that kick return, you're down automatically. It doesn't matter. If it doesn't
matter, if you didn't get touched, doesn't matter, if you fell down,
got right back up immediately, you'redown. Now, this is gonna
be a perfect chance for Oakland Memorialthe show what kind of adjustments they made
(54:43):
on their defense. They were gettingabsolutely swamps by their rushing game for Superio.
He talked a ton about it.Seventy three yards rushing for the quarterback
Tanner Lano on the ground and againit's a forty four yards from Lucas Williams.
On those end a rounds, they'llgo at the end around to hop
this time right to left. Hegot hit at the line and fell over
at the nine yard line and gainof maybe two on the play and head
(55:06):
Key in there and on the stopand he got hit hard on that one.
He'll get to the ten yard linesecond now, and it seems like
for their defensive adjustments with head Keythere on that far right side of that
defense, they have him playing alittle bit tighter, almost expecting run every
single time, which is what theyshould be doing, because they have yet
to throw a pass this game yet, or at least nothing that's been like
(55:30):
over five yards at least. Yeah, they have not thrown anything. You're
right, Dan, it's been allon the ground. As once again Leno
in the shotgun, he will giveit to half on the end a round
move and left side he gets takendown from behind almost a horsecouler tackle over
there. But they did hit himup front as well, did Ethan bump.
(55:51):
He gets about three yards up tothe we'll call it the twelve yard
lines where they're gonna mark him now, so third and about seven here,
four superior deep in their own territory, and especially with how they're they need
to continue to keep that contained. This is a better look than what we
saw in that first half because before, they're almost playing purely a past past
(56:15):
first defense. But now they're kindof realizing, okay, they're just gonna
keep running and running and running offgoing in motion again and said they'll hand
it off to Clark up the gut. Does not have the first down.
In fact, Memorial is pointing thatit's their ball. In fact, as
they got across the fifteen, maybefell up to the seventeen yard line,
s gain of five on the play. It's fourth and short. But you're
so deep in your own territory, can imagine Superior is gonna go for it
(56:38):
here down my only five, fourteento nine with ten fifty five left to
go here in quarter number three. It really depends on their confidence here because
they have been other than this drive. They have been getting some really positive
yards every time they've ran that ball. And it is only about a yard
or two. I mean they areon there. I mean, this is
a Dan Campbell move right here. They're on their own seventeen yard line.
(57:01):
They need to get to the eighteenand a half or so. They're gonna
give it. No, keep itup the middle, Leno, he's got
the first down across the twenty tothe twenty two yard line up five yard
gain for Tannerlino. He's up toseventy eight yards rushing now on the night
and it's a first down Superior. But whoa buddy, I mean, that
is a gutsy call this early withten twenty five up to go on the
(57:22):
third quarter, especially because it basicallysets up the Old Laves to almost put
this out of control here against theSpartans. And this just shows how confident
they are and running against this Memorialdefense. Even though they were able to
get some solid stops, they havesome more tricks up their sleeves. They
want to get their first win tonight. Well you say that, it would
(57:43):
pretty much spell the gun. Imean Memorial scores one more touch. I
mean they get up by two scoresthis superior team, I mean, this
is not a team that's built fora comeback. We'll say it that way.
Is Leno runs around the right edgeand he gets wrestled down, thrown
down by day Noel also and thenthat play was Clark who had a touchdown
earlier this time gets an assistant onthe tackle there three yards on the run
to the right to the twenty sixyard line. Second and seven and this
(58:06):
is something different that we've seen otherthan from that first half. This defense
is playing with some intense name meand Clark was ready to just absolutely wail
on the running back there. Butjust great awareness of where they are the
field. Great job kind of pickingthe right holes and filling up gaps.
They're still getting some yards. Iwas a game of three, but it's
(58:27):
not five ten yard games that areunstoppable, awful going motion. They got
that option play potentially, but theycovered it beautifully. The old Ames Linos
still on his feet. They rippedthe ball out, but again they're calling
him down. He got back tothe line of scrimmage, he was still
kind of moving four and the aimswere ripping at the ball. Couldn't officially
get that to be a fumble, and once again Noel was in on the
(58:50):
tackle. It'll be third and sevenhere for Superior and just a great job
again by that containment. They arenot They are not allowing anymore outside rushes
that gashed them for about a tenyard game. They're not letting their skill
players get free runs anymore. They'reactually settling down and closing in, which
is what they should have done inthat first half. However, now they're
(59:12):
doing it in the second half.Great defensive adjustment. They need to keep
up this pressure on this offensive lineand make sure you're still getting off your
locks and just ripping right through Memorialfourteen Superior nine eight twenty left to go.
Third quarter, third and seven fromtheir own twenty six yard line.
Back to pass the first one,and it's incomplete. Leano over the middle.
(59:32):
It was not a very tight spiral, but he did have a man
that was the least open enough. They tried to get it to Becket Selden,
but it's incomplete and that'll bring upfourth down. And Selden might have
been feeling ethan bump on his neckthere because it looked like he was waiting
the pop from bump behind him. However, he had enough room to be
(59:54):
able to make that possession catch andthen just fall straight to the ground.
All they needed was that first down, but not what you want to see
out of a great pass play fromthat Leno. Also the punter, he'll
run to the right rugby style thisone. It's a decent spiral and it'll
take a Superior bounce at about theforty seven yard line of Memorial and roll
(01:00:14):
on the bounds here to the nearside at the forty two, and that
is where Memorial will start off theirfirst drive of the second half. Eight
oh eight left to play here inthe third quarter. And not the best
punt you can see. And that'sthe one issue about doing those rugby style
punts, and sometimes you do notget the best kick on down, especially
(01:00:37):
with that one. Noel looked likeit may have hit off his side of
his foot, And when you're runningright, it kind of just happens to
be like that. You don't geta solid kick on that ball and it
will usually spiral off in some otherrandom direction. Memorial will now take the
field and as you said, Imean a touchdown here and all of a
sudden, Superior team not built tochase two touchdowns down four team to nine.
(01:01:00):
They are at the moment here toMemorial as they try to add to
it pistol formation. Here was Simmonsbehind Holmberg who has two touchdown passes already.
They counter right side. Simmons gota big hole over on the right,
counters out of the forty five, cuts it across the fifty and is
taken down at the Superior forty seven. That's an eleven yard game and a
first down tackle made by Liam Flores. And that's beautiful blocking there by memorial,
(01:01:23):
especially on that offensive line there, kind of creating these gaps and spaces
for Simmons, who was a bitof a patient runner to kind of cut
back and cut right. He wasalmost just bouncing back to whatever hole he
felt was his favorite, because man, there were almost three or four holes
out there for the taking from justtwenty four yards in that first half by
my tally for Shamars Simmons. Butan eleven yard game there first and ten
(01:01:46):
now at the superior forty seven yardline ball middle hash seven forty three left
to play here in the third quarter, Simmons right up the gut, another
big hole up across the forty five. He gets clipped down for the forty
one yard line. Six yard gamethis time there for the old age.
And once again that was someborski onthe tackle of six yard games second and
four, and as you stayed atonly twenty four yards there for Simmons,
(01:02:09):
that was mainly because they didn't reallydo any run plays. There was more
less just a bunch of passes tostart off, and then suddenly they were
down seven nothing and they were justchasing after the Spartans. Now we're gonna
see their run game unfold. Charight now, they're kind of taking advantage
of that lead that they got.Yeah, only three drives from Memorial two
for Superior in that first half, with all the time that Superior took up
(01:02:32):
on the ground. Seven minutes upto play here third quarter, second and
four from the Superior forty one. It's a spread formation, oh, backward
pass, they're gonna go for thetrick play downfield. It goes to Fergus
and caught it at ten five, touched down the pass complete and beautifully there
for forty one yards. It's Brycedgame on the touchdown pass and the trickery
(01:02:54):
works to perfection. It's twenty tonine old age, beautifully beautifully drawn up
play there by Memorial. Wow.That just first of all, a perfect
backwards pass sometimes you're not really sureif those extra go backwards are not.
And then just a beautiful spot onjob there by number twenty five. Bryce
(01:03:15):
headke to throw. It wasn't thebest throw, but it was a pretty
beautiful spial and a hit tay Forstonright on the chest. Great execution in
general, that's exactly what you neededfor memorial snap spot on the extra point
to kick up and the sneak insidethe up the far upright twenty one to
nine Old names leader here on Homecomingsix forty seven remaining in the third quarterback
(01:03:37):
after this Sun Classic Rock ninety twoone. This is so clear high school

thousand, or go to where Scaladot com. Your home for the old
(01:04:21):
abes is Classic Rock. Welcome backin here too, Carson Park. As
Rob Scott pulls something out of thebag of tricks, there goes forty one
yards from head key to Ferguson.Ferguson's second touchdown reception of the game.
He had a thirty nine yard orearlier in the game as well, and
so He now is up to ninetyone yards receiving in two touchdowns and the
(01:04:44):
Old Abes have a twenty one ninelead. This one's gonna roll out of
bounds. Had some awkward side spinon the kick from there, and then
I'll go out for a kick outof bounds, so the thirty five yard
line. So Superior needs an answer. Now down by two, scores twenty
one to nine with six forty sevenleft to play in the third quarter.
And I gotta commend TFB on thatone. He had a great awareness to
just let that ball just roll outof bound. It almost looked like he
(01:05:10):
was gonna pick it up and tryto run with it, but instead realizes
where his team is right now downtwenty one to nine, is like,
all right, we'll just take thefield goal. We'll just take the field
position battle here, and I wantto see if they'll pass more. They
had a wide open pass when theyactually did it, because they're a run
first team. But let's see whatthey can do now. So again we'll
(01:05:30):
see if Leno can lead this teamback. He's gonna hand it off on
an end around to Williams from leftto right, and he'll go out and
you're out of bounds at the fortyyard line. About a five yard game.
That's what we saw a lot fromSuperior. But again, if they
limit possessions and all that, Imean, they're gonna need to score here,
probably a stop and then you're lookingat, you know, one more
drive, one more score maybe toget in the end zone if they want
to keep this kind of pace up, which is fine, but still it's
(01:05:54):
it's a little bit risky at thispoint. Yeah, you almost have to
move away from the bread and butterfor a little bit. He might have
to spread out the ball a littlebit more too. You can keep doing
run plays. You still have plentyof time the six minutes left. We're
in the middle of the third quarter, but you're gonna have to start opening
up some passing lanes and actually getthat ball out there, you know,
and again in the shotgun formation, sends him an emotion that's Williams fakes a
(01:06:15):
handoff, keeps himself. He's gotthe first down to the forty five.
He lunges to the fifty yard line. That's a ten yard game and a
first down there for this Superior team. Julius Clark stops him, but not
before a ten yard rush. Andnow Leno is up near the century mark
for the game. And Leno, man, he has been a great run
in this game, very very poisoned, confident like where the ball should be
(01:06:41):
going. He hit a couple oftimes where he could have easily just handed
off and maybe gotten a couple ofyards on that end around. But he
saw the play unfold, he sawthat middle of the field open up,
and he said, nope, I'mpulling it away and I'm taking that shot
right up the middle. You know, the quarterback as Clark to his right,
he will give it to Williams ona left or right ender on got
blockers. The forty five gets hithard by locking at the forty five yard
(01:07:02):
line. Five yard game. Butyou're starting to see the old aves maybe
get after that end around that worked, you know, first half, maybe
in that eight to ten yard range. Now it's only in that four to
five yard range. And that justshows the defensive adjustments that they made.
They wanted to contain that a littlebit better than they did in the first
half. Even a little bit better, it would have been better than eight
to ten yards per every single play, because man, were they gashing on
(01:07:26):
those outside corners. But now theyneed to really be aware of those QB
options because those have been absolutely theworst for them this half. It's another
five yard game, twenty yards onthe drive already second d five here they
will get the end around this timeand being pulled in the backfield now up
to the forty four and eventually pushedbackwards. There is Nick Zaurar who came
(01:07:50):
in and again it looked like hemight have been wrapped up, you know
for a loss. Gets back tothe line, then push back. They're
gonna give him one yard to theforty four and it is now a third
and four and the headke had achance on that one. He basically had
them all wrapped up and it lookedlike he was gonna just balerie to spin
him down onto the ground, butinstead he kind of let go a little
(01:08:13):
bit. However, he did enoughto disrupt the play and cause panic in
that backfield. That's exactly what youneed if you're this Oaklare Memorial defense,
just cause some panic out there.Knowing the pistol who will fake the end
around to Williams runs rights got thefirst down end more across the forty across
the thirty five and eventually taken down. You're the thirty four yard line at
ten yard game and maybe taking theworst of that one was Clarkin on the
(01:08:36):
tackle a ten yard game first down. And this Oakland Memorial team needs to
shore up a little bit on theinterior defensive line because they're playing a little
bit of paddycake up front when reallythey need to be ripping right through their
blocker and sit down and blow upany kind of holes they are. They
will continue to keep running that QBoption play because it's just so effective for
(01:08:58):
them, almost ten yards play, twenty one to nine. Old Ames lead
three thirty left to go, thirdquarter, superior back on the ground rushing
attack it is. They will givethe end around for Zuhar again, but
not a lot, maybe a yardto the thirty three. Again, he's
had a zero one and a oneyard rushing game in the three that he's
(01:09:18):
had. That end around for himhas not worked well. It's second to
nine, No, it has not. And this rushing game in general has
been pretty done pretty well for them. I'd expect more inside the guard,
inside the center kind of runs, and honestly, if Memorial can just shure
up that they'd be able to justslow the bleeding here as they've almost ran
(01:09:42):
off the entire length of the fieldfrom the thirty five under three minutes two
forty seven remaining here in this secondquarter. Now they're gonna pass once again,
Leno going for at all. It'soverthrown and incomplete trying to find sam
hoffdown field. He had a couplesteps on his defender. It was just
overthrown, but that should have beensix if for a bad throw. Yeah,
and not only that, they alsohad Selton open two on that other
(01:10:04):
side. That's the one great thingabout being a rushing team is that you'll
almost force them to sell out onthe run and then they can take advantage
through the air. However, that'snot two times where they've had some great
passing plays lined up, but theyjust haven't been able to convert. I
mean they have both passing plays. There have been open receivers, but just
(01:10:24):
haven't been able to hit him.Third and nine now from the Memorial thirty
three yard line, Leno will fakethe end around handoff. He'll run it
up the gut to the thirty andthen gets pushed backwards hard after about a
three yard game as well, sayJack Glazier was a man who hit him
backward and say fourth and about sixnow here for Superior again, Leno,
(01:10:45):
we saw with a pretty good bootwhich could potentially and can only make it
a nine point game. So atthis point with two nineteen left in the
third quarter, kind of have togo for it here? Oh yeah,
you definitely do. This is kindof I wouldn't say winner go home till
you got a full quarter left. However, it really feels like that with
the momentum that Memorial has gained fromthat score, start this half off and
just if you're a Memorial here youcan't let those free passes go and as
(01:11:09):
time out taken by Superior twenty oneto nine, Old Abs with the lead
here on the Spartans two oh oneleft to go, third quarter, fourth
and six is coming up here forSuperior after this Classic Rock ninety two one.
This is so clear high school footballon Classic Rock ninety two one.
(01:11:38):
Autok, he'll find the running carforward you Yeah, only on Bird Street
and o clarious true, there's onlyone K Valley? Is that? So
(01:12:00):
your home for the old abe isClassic Rock. Welcome back in here at
two Carson Park two oh one leftto go. Third quarter. It's the
old Age twenty one, the SuperiorSpartan's nine and a fourth and six coming
up for Superior. They wanted atime out to talk about it. They've
talked about it. Now they needthe right play. They need to get
down to the twenty four yard lineof Memorial for a first down. You
(01:12:25):
know, in the shotgun different formationhere, they'll fake the end around.
Wants to run left, there's defendersthere, gets hit. Can he stay
on his feet? No, hecannot. Only two yards when they needed
six, And again they keep iton the grounds. That's been their bread
and butter. But too many yardsto gain. Only two for Lino on
the play and the old abes onceagain turn them back. You hear Luke
(01:12:47):
Johnson's name called one of the tacklers. And it's first down here for Memorial
at their own twenty eight yard line. And Luke Johnson's been a great linebacker
for them tonight. He's been allover making tackles. While they haven't been
the best on this run deep they'vebeen, they've been potent when it counts,
like this is the second time they'vegotten a big stop here, especially
(01:13:09):
on fourth down. To cause somuch ruckis this Memorial team needs to take
advantage now and kind of put thisthing away. We'll see if they can.
They'll go with the spread. Tworeceivers left, one right. Man
in motion is Wiggle from left toright. They will give the handoff.
No, it's a end around, rather a little trickery there to Wiggle.
He breaks the tackle at the thirtyfive, across the forty and brought down
(01:13:30):
from behind under the forty five yardline. Big game there seventeen yards on
the play, finally tackled there bySuperiors Seth Sherman. But that is a
big first down, and you're startingto see Memorial wants to win this game.
They're gonna pull out all kinds oftricks to make that happen, no
matter what it is. And thenthat one they handoff, and then another
(01:13:55):
handoff to cause another end around. And that was a perfect job by Wiggle
to hit that gap with acceleration. Some confusion here on defense for Superior.
There's single coverage on on the rightedge. I don't know if he's seen
at their Homeburg has, but hethrows. Oh, he should have been
intercepted. He got indecisive and hethrew it right into the hands of sam
Hoff and he drops it at thefifty yard line. I mean they had
(01:14:16):
single coverage out on the edge there, Dan, he saw it and the
play was clearly for a slant andnot for the goal route. If it's
a goal route, there's a chanceof a touchdown instead almost a pick.
Yeah, he really shouldn't have thrownthat one there, obviously, But that
was almost a pick six two bythe way, because Haff had some blockers
right next to him too, andthere's only one Wine there was only take
(01:14:38):
Clark back there, Julius Clark backthere to be able to stop him.
Yeah, that's a great point.Yeah. Off with that good speed he's
got, I mean he might havebeen off to the races one receiver right,
two to the left. They sendthe man emotion. It's wiggle.
They'll get the end around hat Offforty five. Once the counter at the
forty seven, and he was tackledat the forty eight yard line there between
the hash marks once again, tackledby Grant Reward and with one four left
(01:15:00):
to go here in the third quarter, old Ames leading twenty one to nine
and a third down and seven herefor Memorial, and I'd expect some kind
of play action run here there morethan likely. They're a great passing team,
and especially on third down tonight, they've been pretty potent. So we'll
just see what kind of stuff theyhave dropping up right now. Four receivers
set Homberg back to pass pump,so he's gonna throw now he rolls right.
(01:15:24):
They want to flag here. Nothingcalled to pass is caught by head
Key on the rock side at theforty two yard line, and that should
be enough for the first down ona ten yard game. You see the
superior sideline wanted to hold on theright edge when Homeburg went to roll out,
didn't get the call first down oldage. Yeah, he kind of
got a fistical of jerseys on thatone. Now, what you want to
see is a superior fan and buta great job there by Homeburg to just
(01:15:47):
kind of be patient find his wayaround, even if it may have been
a play that should have been calledback. Great job by Homeburg to roll
out right and find head Key rightin the zone. Four receivers set again
Homber back to passers pressure. Itis tipped and incomplete. Weigel almost got
it at the thirty four yard line. There, but some guys into the
backfield there to make that play whereDominic lions along with Revard again. And
(01:16:11):
it's now second and ten here forthe Old Aves with thirty six seconds and
the third quarter'clock stopped on the incompletion, and I understand whying to score quick.
They still are up by twelve. You make a good point, Dad.
It's one of those where this teamthrows so much. It's like they
can't get out of the throw mode, right. They almost have to be
throwing the ball even though you know, conventional wisdom would say they should be
(01:16:34):
running here a little bit more.Let's see if they give it to Simmons
this time. There's some movement here. It should be an illegal shift than
it is. They give it toSimmons on accounter. He's got some good
yardage forty on the right side.Looking at him, Bovard offender at the
thirty five oh is impressive. Butthis one's coming back. There were a
lot of guys in motion who didn'treset, and this will be a five
yard penalty on the Old Aves.Jeff Lynahan is your official to day.
(01:17:00):
I've seen it. Heard his namea few times this season. College official
as well. Five men in thebackfield. In the offense, they called
five men of the backfield. Theycould have called a legal shift. They
probably could have called they could havecalled for delivery, take out. I
mean, there's a few things thatthey could have called there as well.
The second and fifteen now here forthe old Ames back at the forty seven
yard line of Superior. They don'thave to run a play here, No,
(01:17:23):
they pardon me. They would haveto twenty five seconds on the play
block, So twenty through twenty oneleft here in the quarter. One more
play likely for Memorial unless there's anincompletion Homeburg back to pass, gonna launch
just one deep in the far sidelines. Got wiggle, it's incomplete right off
the bread basket. Might have gota hand in there, did Flores.
And it is now third and fifteenin here for Memorial. And that's been
(01:17:47):
a fun matchup to see Wigel versusFloras. They've been going at it all
night long, just one on onematchup there, and it looked like Wigel
had a chance at it, butFlora's got his got his giant mit up
in there and just kind of slappedit away at the last second. Was
not a pass interferience. Despite whatthe fans may have wanted here in the
memorial side, he was pretty cleanand man just great aware defensive awareness as
(01:18:11):
well. Twenty one nine Old Abslead here over superior third and fifteen from
the superior forty eight yard line.Need the thirty two thirty three in that
range Homeburg back to pass rows nearsides caught by Clark. He's got some
space at the forty five, breaksa tackle at the forty three, breaks
it again to the forty got achance to get the first down. He's
got it on the near sideline ora lease. He's darn near close to
(01:18:32):
it at the thirty two. Let'ssee if they give it to him.
Only one second remains here in thefirst half or in the third quarter,
excuse me, and they've given itto him. He's got fifteen yards on
the dot and that is a firstdown for the Old Abs on a couple
of broken tackles from the speedy JuliusClark. And that's that was a play
drawn up for Julius Clark. Bythe way, he was wide open on
(01:18:55):
that far right side. They sentall the receivers all the way to the
earth far side. They set allthe receivers on the far right side to
draw the entire defense. Got JuliusClark in space, and that's exactly what
they want to do. They havehis speed, his agility, and he
was able to go out there, make a play and pick up that first
down. Beautiful job by Julius Clark. He got out of bounds. So
the clock remains stop. One secondremains here in this quarter of this will
(01:19:19):
be the last place Simmons with therun, he'll push the pile up to
the thirty game of two and it'llbe second and eight for the Old Abs
when we start the fourth quarter, twenty one to nine. Old Abs leave
the Spartans of Superior back after thishere on Classic rockety two, this is
no clear high school football on ClassicRock ninety two one. Without your health,

get started, because nobody wants tospend the season on the sidelines. Your
home for the Old Abes is ClassicRock ninety two one. Welcome back in
once again here to Carson Park.We head to the fourth quarter. Old
Abes of Oaklare Memorial twenty one hereon homecoming, leading the Spartans of Superior
(01:20:28):
twenty one to nine. Here aswe had set for the start of the
fourth couple scores from around the areaof Chipwa leading twenty one to fourteen over
River Falls nine twenty left to goin River Falls is there's a running back
hurdling, a defender, a funplay there, and River Falls trying to
answer back against Chippewa who's trying tocome through with the wind there. Oaklare
North struggling in the second half againstHudson. Hudson is looking like they're on
(01:20:50):
the way to a win. Inthat one. It is still fourteen nothing
new. Richmond with the lead onMonominee and Regis has a twenty three sixteen
lead on Stanley Boyd with about sevenminutes left to play in the third quarter.
I believe thirty one to seven isto score Hudson leading over north.
(01:21:12):
All right, it is Memorial secondand eight from the thirty yard line of
Superior. They're gonna shift their tightends from the left to the right side
of the formation, two receivers tothe right as well, and Holmberg will
give it to Simmons on the counterleft. He will hit a defender hard
at the twenty five falls up tothe twenty four and a whistle and a
flag on the play came in late, and I think the umpire is calling
(01:21:34):
for a hold here, but itwas down field, So this one's gonna
back Memorial up, but it mightnot be that big of a penalty with
where it was put. Here's onea half fall second, so the holding
called down field gonna mark him backto the thirty four yard line, So
(01:21:55):
this will just be about a secondand twelve year four Memorial twelve o eight.
Now not as bad as it couldhave been. Definitely want to avoid
that going forward if you're a Memorial. But right now they're in a perfect
position just kind of run this gameout, especially with the way that Simmons
has been playing the second half.Yeah, forty left to play here in
(01:22:15):
the fourth quarter. Memorial twenty one, Superior nine second and twelve back to
pass Homeburg. He wants it all. No, he's gonna check down to
Simmons. Oh, nice little movewith the thirty five to the thirty so
the twenty five and Simmons does notshy away from contact, bulls over a
defender up to the twenty two,and I think he's got the first down
here for memorial on a twelve yardgame. And now the great job by
(01:22:36):
Homberg got both of us on thatone. It looked like he was gonna
go for a deep shot and gotry and get a touchdown and put this
game away early here. However,he goes and tough they so well and
then gets it down a little dumpoff to Simmons, and Simmons just does
the rest. He's just can He'sjust been doing it all the second half.
He's just been able to bull overpeople and then just run right by
(01:22:57):
him. He's had a few greatcuts that just opened up so much space
for him. Simmons six one twooh nine junior, And boy, you
know, not only the great cuts, but boy he can really lower his
pads into somebody too and just getthose extra yardage and they'll give it to
him again running left Scot blockers infront of him. At the twenty bounces
of the fifteen, again, hitsthe whole hard up near the ten yard
line. I think he's got thefirst down. Heah ten yard game at
(01:23:20):
the eleven first down old apes andjust the body language from the superior team,
it just it does not look likethey want to even be out there
anymore. They they've been just theydid what the oak Claire Memorial defense did
in the first quarter, which waskind of just let the offense take them
wherever. And right now they're notgetting pressure, they're not getting off of
(01:23:40):
their blocks. It's almost like they'rejust kind of tuned out of this game.
They need to get this momentum andintensity out. Yeah, we talked
about how good of a runner camOlson is for oak Claire North, but
I really like the way Simmons runs. The bought one of those where you'd
like to see him get more touches. He'll get another here, hits the
hole on the right at the tenand is up near the five yard line.
They'll mark him back at the sixfive yard game there for Simmons.
(01:24:01):
But yeah, I mean you watchSimmons and you know you wonder I know
Old Abest Homeburg's got a good army. They've got some really good receivers.
But you wonder why sometimes maybe theydon't give the ball to Simmons a little
bit more, especially to start offgames too, just to get that running
game down early, because that's usuallyhow most high school teams run. They
usually start off trying to get thatrun game flowing and then pass when they
(01:24:23):
need to. But here it's likethey pass and then they run when they
need to. Second and six officiallythey mark him at the seven yard line.
Did Simmons again, They'll ship tothe left side of that formation ball
middle hash mark left to right. Here in the fourth ninety four left,
he's gonna throw back to corner ofthe end zone. Ferguson is up.
He comes down with it, touchdown. Old abs Ferguson in the back corner
of the end zone. That's thethird touchdown pass of the game for Riley
(01:24:46):
Holmberg. And it's now twenty sevento nine Old Ages lead, nine thirty
eight left to play, and that'sa great job by Riley Holmesberg. He's
been going for Ferguson all game long, and he's wanting to get it to
him there, and that was agreat job to find it, to throw
it right where only the receiver couldget it. Ferguson went right up for
that one and caught it into hischest. Maybe a little bit of an
(01:25:09):
awkward catch, but still nonetheless greatpossession catch and a great job at Homeburg
just to throw it for only hisreceivers to catch. So there's a touchdown
again Homeburg with his third touchdown ofthe game. The other was another passing
touchdown on that trick play from headKey. This one is up and through
twenty eight to nine old names, nine thirty eight left to go back after
(01:25:31):
this on Classic Rock ninety two one. This is so clear high school football.
On Classic Rock ninety two one.Let's use a football metaphor in your
home. You're in the quarterback. Now, who would you want in your
front pine asshault, No, thefearsome form rain, hail, wind and
(01:25:51):
snow and blow right throw an assball line. For real protection, you
want be York's friend metal Roofie, because hit after hit, year after year,
Yorks frand Metal Roofing will keep youprotected with a fifty year non pro
rated and transferable warrant two three seventwenty six seventy eight. Your home for
(01:26:15):
the Old Abs is Classic Rock twoone. Welcome back in here at tun
Carson Park eight twenty eight nine leadfor the Old Abs, Hey Ferguson with
three receiving touchdowns here tonight three passesfor Homberg touchdown passes as well, twenty
eight to nine Old Abs with thelead here on the spartans of Superior check
(01:26:36):
in on regis now down twenty threetwenty four to Stanley Boyd. Two point
conversion is converted by Stanley Boyd herecomes to kick the return here for Superior
twenty five thirty maybe the thirty twoyard line for Flores and Superior will have
to get something going. I meanthey had the lead sixth nothing, they
(01:26:57):
had the lead nine to seven. But it's been really all Old Abe since
in this run attack. While it'sbeen good for Superior, they just have
relied on them maybe a little bittoo much here tonight, Dan, and
it has not been able to sustainthem all evening. And that's the hard
thing about a run first offense isthat it's going to become stagnant if you
don't keep changing up that play. And the thing is now memorial is kind
of used to them just only runningthe ball, So now they're playing tighter,
(01:27:20):
expect them to throw the ball morehere. Even though they're not much
of a passing team. And whilethat run game has been great for them,
they have had wide open passes thatjust have been a little bit off
the mark. It could be acloser game right now. A Regis game
is four minutes left in the thirdquarters. There still a lot of time
left there. Not as much timeleft here. Another option play they run
(01:27:41):
it out to the left edge andtaken down right at the thirty nine yard
line is the new tailback end ofthe game for Superior. That man is
a Devin Surlo and a good jobthere in the containment. Again, Memorial
does a good job just getting outon the edge. Is Ryan Schultz just
got out. They're made of stopping. It was a six yard game.
It's still a good job not lettinghim break it off for more. Oh
(01:28:03):
yeah, considering we've seen them breakoff ten twenty yard runs this game.
Just being able to get down fieldso quickly, this is perfect for Memorial
because now you can just prevent fromnow on, prevent those big run players
spread it out. Now two receiversleft, one right. Haven't seen this
formation too much for Lano and company. He'll send him an emotion. That's
(01:28:24):
Williams. They'll hand it off tohim left to right, end around,
cuts it up at the forty. It's got the first done, dragging a
tackler across the forty five up tothe forty seven yard line, tackling again.
On the play there is Devin Noel. He was the one who was
dragging with them. But that'll bea gain of about nine in a first
down. And if you're the Memorialdefense here, you cannot keep letting them
(01:28:45):
get away with chunk plays like that. You need to force them to throw
because they are not the best passingteam here. They may have gotten some
free breaks on the passing on acouple of passing downs here, but they
haven't been able to complete anything, and they just statistically aren't a great passing
team. You need to make surethey're not chunking you there on those run
games. Eight ten left to playfourth quarter old age twenty eight Superior nine.
(01:29:06):
They want to go for it allhere. Leno was looking to throw
left. Instead, he'll tuck itand run across the fifty in the memorial
territory of the forty seven. That'sa five ish yard gain, maybe four.
We'll see where they mark him,but where they wanted to go near
side, they had a receiver prettywell covered, and Leno decided to just
tuck it and he goes for afour yard run. And I gotta give
(01:29:27):
credits Luke Johnson on that. I'veset his name a couple of times this
broadcast. He got right up inthe face of Leno there and kind of
scared him off from making that passout there because he got his arm right.
That's exactly what you gotta do asa d linman. You gotta get
your arm up. That's what sometimesd linman don't do, especially when the
ball is gonna be coming your way, getting those arms up and make sure
to bat that thing down. LukeJohnson does a great job of that and
(01:29:48):
forces Leno outside the pocket. Secondin six now from the old age forty
eight yard line, Leo gonna justrun it himself on the right edge and
he falls over and it looked likehe was tripping up the old turf mount
Sir got him there. The tacklewill go officially to Nolan Odham. The
loss of a couples and he wentdown back near the fifty yard line.
Now third and long here for Superiorand seven h five left to play in
(01:30:10):
the game. The clock's still tickingand Memorial up twenty eight to nine.
And even if Leno had stayed upon his feet, it didn't matter.
That whole play was covered up.Nolan Onham had him on a one on
one tackle there, and Nolan Onhamis one of the Memorials strongest tacklers with
seventy seven total tackles, So it'sgonna be hard to break. It's gonna
be hard to break one off againstthe guy like that. Students starting to
make a little noise down to ourleft here on third and about eight.
(01:30:34):
Maybe be a short eight long sevenhere for this Superior team. This is
a broken play potentially. Leno lookedright now, He's gonna run right.
He is hit at the line andthen falls forward up to the about the
forty four yard line. Got somepositive yardage here, just kind of running
over the defender there for Memorial. That was Luke Johnson and others. I'll
(01:30:56):
get fourth and about two. Butit looked like the motion didn't start in
the right time and Leno kind ofhad to improvise a bit. Yeah,
Lino, it looked like those eitherthe motion didn't start or the snap came
a little bit later than he expected, or a little bit earlier than I
expect, I should mean. Hebut still a great job to kind of
make something out of nothing, whichhas kind of been Lino's stuff today.
He's been able to kind of justbreak something off whenever that seems like there's
(01:31:19):
nothing and that should have been maybea sack or stopped at the line,
and Study goes and picks up somemore yardage. Oh, this is pretty
much it for Superior. Fourth andtwo from the memorial forty four, down
twenty eight to nine, with fiveforty five left to play, Leno takes
it himself, bounces right, he'sgot the first down to the forty and
he'll drag a couple tacklers up tothe thirty seven maybe the thirty six yard
line, eight yard gain, andhe keeps the hopes alive here at Superior
(01:31:43):
as their playoff hopes are starting todwindle here in the late moments, and
they're gonna need to have to takea shot. They're gonna have to take
a shot towards the end zone here, unless they're basically just trying to run
the game out, which any coachwill tell you they do not do that.
They do not do that unless it'sfully out of hand. You got
these two tine obviously both owing foreignconference. You need three conference wins to
be on the bubble to get inthe WIA playoffs. Right now, it's
(01:32:05):
pull out all the stops. Imean, your whole season's basically on the
line if you don't get a winhere, and they will pass this time
Leno looking for a slant route. That ball is incomplete to the near side,
intended for Tucker Frasier Bethume, andit will be second and ten against
slant route. Wasn't maybe the bestthrow in the world. Again, pretty
(01:32:26):
tight coverage and it's second and ten. No, not the best throw,
but also that is a catchable ballthough. That should be something that you
as a strong headed receiver, thatyou do catch and bring into your body
because he did have it there inhis hands. That's now twice that there's
been a couple of drops on somequestionable throws. Still, you're gonna want
to have that one back. Tworeceivers right, one left, far hash.
(01:32:48):
Second and ten here from the memorialthirty seven Leno rolling to his right
looking downfield at his bobble tip,had incomplete about three different chances for an
interception on that far side. Theinitial man with the tip was Eatan bumped.
I think somebody came in late andalmost scooped it up off the turk.
Griffin Ellis, I believe, wasthe man who was closest to it,
(01:33:08):
trying to play a little tip drillthere and they couldn't quite get it.
Third and ten now for Superior.Yeah, and that would have just
ended the game right there, aninterception, any kind of turnover right here,
it's done for this team is luckyto get that one back, because
I honestly thought that was going inthe other direction that got tipped up high
in the air. Well. Claireregis down by one with two minutes left
(01:33:29):
to go in the third quarter upat Stanley boy But they are driving near
the red zone of Stanley Boyd atthe moment as well. Third and ten
here for Superior, two receivers left, one right, five oh five left
to go. Fourth quarter. Leyou know, gonna keep it himself on
the read option up the gut. It's a pretty good game here to the
thirty two yard line. They neededthat on first or second down. Now
it's fourth and about five from thethirty two of Memorial and let's see what
(01:33:54):
they drop here. They've had Theyhad more passplays and just this possession alone
than they've had the entire game.He kind of wonder if they should have
maybe started it a little bit sooner, maybe when they went down twenty one
to nine, maybe when they weredown fourteen to nine and had a chance.
But you need to get a goodrun here if you want to keep
(01:34:15):
this game live. Clock is stillticking twenty eight nine Old Ames lead two
twenty four left to play. Lenowill keep it himself on fourth and five
up that got to the thirty eightdoesn't have it. He got to the
twenty nine, needed to twenty seven. He got three when he needed five,
and the Old Abs stand tall. The man at the bottom of the
pile was Jack Glazer and it willbe a turnover on downs and that'll pretty
(01:34:39):
much seal the deal here for theOld Aves. They're gonna finally get their
first conference win here tonight with fourseventeen left to go, and they just
simply wanted it more. I mean, we saw so many trick plays from
the old Aves that all worked,by the way, from the fleet flicker,
from the end around path, fromthe end around, double fake,
just a up all the stops. They wanted this win, and they showed
(01:35:02):
then they can't still have a shotto make the playoffs here. I mean,
never say never, Never say never. They're not too deep yet.
On thirty yard line is where thedrive will start and the handoff to Simmons
and he's trying to make a coupleof fancy dance moves and he does.
He gets some blocks to the thirtyfive forty, he's got wide open green
in front of him to the fortynear sideline, one man to beat to
(01:35:24):
the twenty five, twenty to tenfoot he is gone, touched down Old
Dames seventy yards for Shamir Simmons, and that's gonna put a big exclamation point
on this one. As Simmons runsin for the t d seventy yards,
it's now thirty four to nine OldNames leading, beautifully drawn up play again
(01:35:45):
and just great blocking falled out bythat offensive line they pulled. They had
a couple of pulling guards that itlooked like they were gonna be a little
late filer spots harbor. They wereable to accelerate, get right on their
angles, hold the defenders in close, and then allowed say Is to use
that blazing speed that we don't reallytalk about enough. But man, he
ripped one off there. We haven'tseen a lot of that this game from
(01:36:08):
Simmons because usually we're thinking of himas like a almost like a bowler.
Right there were able to bowl downeveryone, but man, just a great
job by Simmons. Certainly was belare on to attempt the extra point snaps
spot kick is up and it isgood at thirty five nine League for the
old Aids and Shamarsh Simmons shows offthe Jets trying to have two men who
(01:36:30):
could have tackled him, and hebeat them all down field for seventy yards
of the touchdown. We'll come backright after this here on Classic Rock ninety
two one. This is so clearhigh school football. On Classic Rock ninety
two one. I was down onmy lock. My car was a pizza.
(01:36:50):
Luckily I found King Otto. Kingshowed me that they truly can went
down to Bird Street and my god, yeah, King is the only way
(01:37:11):
to come Your home for the OldAbes is Classic Rock ninety two one Welcome
back in here at two Carson Park. The Old Abes on the way to
a big win here against Superior onhomecoming he can outs and Danzons with the
Yosemite yard touchdown run for Shamar Simmons, and that was fun to watch.
And again he's got to be afactor those last two weeks if Memorial wants
(01:37:34):
to make some waves and try toget in the playoffs, doesn't he?
Oh yeah, definitely. And thisoffensive line is looked a lot better than
they have on previous nights too, whether that's because of the defensive line that
they've gone against or just some upup and confidence in them because they looked
like they're actually getting to their spotson time. Pretty sure. But Theme
on the far side will take thereturn up across the twenty five and not
(01:37:57):
much more twenty six yard line. The twenty seven is where they'll spot him,
and so Superior down thirty five tonine, three fifty five left,
This one is pretty much in thebag. Twenty seventy yard line is where
they will start off. A coupleof scores to give you am nominee has
not scored tonight, thanks for ourproducer Shansaka passing that one on twenty eight
(01:38:18):
to nothing New Richmond with the leadon them with two twenty nine left to
go in the third quarter. There, just just got in for a touchdown.
They're going for two here and Ithink they got it thirty one to
twenty four. They lead early fourthquarter, just four seconds into the fourth
quarter there as well. So thatanother good one. You can catch that
game over on Moose Country one orsix seven at the conclusion of our game,
(01:38:40):
and it sounds like that will stillbe going on. Williams gets an
ender on left or right here forSuperior up to the thirty yard line.
I'll beginning of three on first down, Superior. You know kind of you
know, morally defeated right now,Dan, Yeah, you like to see
them throw right, pull out allthe stops. Why not? I know
you're down big, but see whatyou got, see what you got here
before these last couple of weeks.Yeah, it kind of flex the arsenal
(01:39:01):
a little bit. They have someskilled players, especially the one at quarterback
there who's made a few if hethrows, but they have been on the
money. The spiral has been alittle bit off, but they've been on
the money. They've been there forthe receiver. It's been a couple,
yeah, for sure, could havebeen hitting the receivers that they've dropped.
You have one that he overthrew me. You're right, there's been a couple
(01:39:23):
that probably could have been helped outby some better receiving. Now only an
old step up and run with itagain with nobody to throw. Two.
Oh, he took some massive hitsthere. That was a potential helmet to
helmet situation. Jacob Moretto came inand kind of went up under the chin.
He gets close to the first downacross the thirty five. I think
they're gonna mark him now, they'regonna give it to him at the thirty
seven yard line. Jeez. Yeah, and this Memorial crowd already chanting,
(01:39:48):
already loving it homecoming night. Yougotta got your team's up big thirty five
nine. That's exactly the energy yougotta have. Like we said, Memorial
again had is a tall task infront of them the rest of the way.
Again, the three Conference wins. What you need to get on the
bubble. This will be win numberone. Two more weeks to go at
(01:40:08):
Chippa, which is always a toughgame for them, but then they will
host Manominee in the final week ofthe season, so there's definitely a chance
there. Pump fake from Lino andhe is sacked, sacked this time by
the man who crushed him before,Jake Murretto or some also back into the
backfield there. That initially affected himwas can they lions as well? It's
(01:40:30):
a loss all the way back throughto the thirty two yard line, and
that a five yard loss will makeit second and fifteen two minutes left to
play, clock ticking old aids upthirty five to nine, and you know,
Muretto's high fiving Lions for that one, because Lions was the whole reason
that that Lino even got over tohim. And it almost looked like that,
it almost looked like that Murretto wason the ground for a second and
(01:40:53):
was able to just pull Leno therest of the way down too. Chippewa
trying with a last gasp. There'sabout under two now, they broke one,
and they're gonna tie the game theminute forty left to play in River
Falls, or at least get closeto the tie in that one as they
will throw it down field. HereLeno on the far side trying to go
for it all down that far edgeto Brendan Acre, but it was overthrown.
(01:41:15):
Now a late flag coming? Isthis is really late? I'm sure
if there's past interference or what, but that was again just throwing really late?
Are the officials especially at that game. That's pretty much over holding on
the defense all right? Not annot an automatic first down in high school
football, but they will mark offten yards so it should be I believe
(01:41:36):
second and five when they mark thispenalty off. So Chippewa has an extra
point pending to try to tie RiverFalls with one thirty nine left to go
over there raymer Field and River Fallstonight and Soil twenty eight nothing new.
Richmond with the lead on Monomonee andManominee looks like they just got in for
(01:41:59):
a school or late in the thirdquarters, so they're trying to mount what
would be a massive comeback. Therewere just leading thirty one to twenty four
in Stanley Boyd with eleven forty twoleft to play in that contest. One
receiver right, one left throw tothe right side and again another drop ball
there that was half that time Lenoput it wasn't again, maybe through a
(01:42:23):
little behind him, but still hithim in the hands. Still should have
been caught. And now a thirddown and five coming up here for Superior
with one twenty two left to play. The extra point was no good in
that Chippua River Falls game. SoChippewa now down by a point with one
thirty nine left to go. Infact, I think did they try to
go for two? They might haveand came up short. Gutsy call.
(01:42:45):
A bit of a gutsy call,I'd say, especially when he could have
just tied the game right there, unless it was a blocked extra point.
Just saw the end of it.But nonetheless hectopass here Leno. Third and
five from his own forty two hethrows left again drop by half hit him
in the hands. He took alittle bit of a hit afterward by Bryce
Headkey, but still one of thosewhere should have caught it, did not.
(01:43:10):
Fourth and five for Superior. Onefifteen left here in the fourth old
age thirty five and Superior nine. And that's the issue with not throwing all
game, because you can't really getthat chemistry between you and your receivers.
It's different from in practice and ingame situations because in game this is a
live thing. You can't just stopand just throw with a receiver off to
(01:43:30):
the side. No, you actually, this is the This is where you
learn to get that chemistry together. And when you don't throw that often,
you're gonna have miss timings like that. One receiver left, two out to
the right, fourth and five. They need the forty seven yard line.
Leno gonna run with it on theright edge. He should get the first
down. No, he won't.Whoa look good containment there by the old
age. It looked like he hada lot of space but wasn't running terribly
(01:43:51):
hard. I think he was lookingfor the hole and it never came and
he got hit at the forty five. He's short and it'll be a turnover
on downs and that's gonna do it. And I think that more or less
had to do with just where theywere in the game, because we've seen
plays like that bounce and breakout formaybe ten yards usually, but it just
(01:44:14):
looked like they want to be doneright now. A bit of a white
flat or yeah, waving the whiteflag there if you will, and you
can just kind of feel it.So the forty five yard line. Old
Abs just need to take one ortwo knees here, and probably two knees.
I doubt that Superior will throw upany kind of resistance or take any
time out. So victory formation forthe Old Abes. It was a two
(01:44:34):
point conversion that Chippewa went for. They went for the win, or at
least went for the lead in thatone. With one thirty nine left,
they do have two time outs soleft, and they are still awaiting the
onside kick formation there as well.So there's a knee taken by the Old
Abes here, one more to goand then we'll take a quick break and
recap everything on our postgame show.So the Old Abs now are two victories
(01:44:56):
away from getting on the bubble atChipwa and Chipwa we've seen struggle at times
this year. They might drop toone in four now in conference play,
and then you have a Nominee. But Monominee in town. Monomine is having
a hard time with New Richmond. It's not out of the realm of possibility
here. Let's keep that in mind. Old Abes could be in a decent
shape. Yeah, there's a lotstill open this other than the very very
top of the conference. I wouldsay that's still open for some wild cards
(01:45:20):
to kind of show up here lateon. We'll see if they do the
knee taken that will do it.Two kneel downs was all it needed.
Thirty five to nine old Abes withthe win over Superior. Tonight, we'll
take a quick break, come backwith our post games here on Classic Rock
ninety two one FM, WMQ,Phenomine, Oh Claire, Chipwill Falls,

Welcome back in here to Carson ParkOur final score tonight at a thirty five
to nine win Poor Memorial over superiorPrecnutes and Danzons with the shots Acabac and
studio here on Classic Rock and wellDan We'll talk about some scores here in
(01:46:55):
a second, but just your recapon this one. Memorial again struggle a
little bit early. Defensively had theirway running the ball, but they got
a little too one dimensional in thisgame. And we saw some really good
passing out of Holmberg and some reallygood play calling on a Rob Scott that
ends up with ends up being arelatively comfortable win here over this superior squad.
Yeah, and they obviously show thatthey wanted to win this game,
(01:47:16):
and you could see that by theplays they called. They called a lot
of trick plays this one, especiallyon especially with that flee flicker that will
that will go down and infamy withthis Memorial team because that was just a
beautiful play in general, read verywell. But the real story here is
just the connection that Holmberg had withFerguson. Though they connected three times in
(01:47:38):
the end zone and just looked verypoison confident out there, and when they
were kind of able to get intotheir sets, when they weren't kind of
in panic mode because they were downseven nothings seven to nine, they looked
great. They looked like they actuallyhad some good chemistry out there. They
actually formed something, and that theability to be able to make those defensive
adjustments when it looked like they werejust gonna looked like Superior's just gonna run
(01:48:00):
over them all game long, likethey had no answers for them. But
the old ads they came back outof the locker room and they shut them
out the entire quarter. Holberg witha part me with three touchdowns. He
had over one hundred yards passing tonight. Tate Ferguson had three touchdown receptions,
just under one hundred yards receiving bymy account. But Tate Ferguson now up
(01:48:24):
to six touchdowns on the season forhim as well, great receiver. We
saw him show off his abilities tonot only catch, but to run after
the catch as well. Here tonightagain it was at Williams one yard touchdown
run that put Superior up six tonothing early, but then Holdberg to Ferguson
for thirty nine yards at the beginningof the second quarter put Memorial up seven
to six. They would go downagain though, after a Leno field goal
(01:48:45):
with three or one left to goin the second quarter, down nine to
six at that point, Holmberg wouldconnect with Clark on a five yard touchdown
pass a beautiful kind of fade routeto the corner of the end zone with
two seconds remaining in the half,so that would give Memorial a four team
nine league going into halftime, andthen it was all Memorial in the second
half. Head Key to Ferguson onthe trick play for forty one yards twenty
(01:49:05):
one to nine, then Holdberg toFerguson again with nine thirty eight left to
go in the fourth quarter for sevenyards twenty eight to nine at that point,
and then a little highlight run forSimmons there at the end of the
game, a seventy yard touchdown runwith four h three left to go to
make it thirty five to nine. All right, a couple of scores from
around the area. Hudson thirty eight, Oaklare North fourteen six thirty left to
(01:49:25):
go in that contest as again,River Falls up twenty eight to twenty seven,
and they will go on to avictory over Chipwa tonight. So Chipwa
now drops down. Chip was gonnabe pretty desperate next week when they take
on Memorial in Chippewa. That's gonnabe a great game up at Deray Field
and should be a fun one becauseboth teams again gonna have the playoff hopes
(01:49:46):
on the line, just like Memorialhad here tonight. It'll happen again up
in Chippewa for both of those teams. New Richmond was up twenty eight to
six at last check. I believethey scored on a return for another touchdown.
So New Richmond looks like they're wellon the way to an undefeated record.
Thirty five to seven lead now thatthey have, and it's six thirty
(01:50:09):
left to play in the contest. In Stanley Boyd, Regis has a thirty
one to twenty four lead and theyhave the ball at around the ten yard
line of Stanley Boyd. So theygot a chance to go up by two
scores and knock off another victory andstill be kind of a sneaky chance to
potentially still win maybe a share ofthe Clover Belt by the end of the
(01:50:29):
season. That is, get overon Moose Country. Tune in there if
you want to hear the end ofthat one, and then in about twenty
minutes tun over to newstock wm EQ. That's AMA eight m minominee one oh
six point three fim here in theOak Claire area for football Friday night from
nine thirty to eleven o'clock scores fromaround the state with our friends Chuck and
the Milwaukee iHeart Radio crew Dan alot of fun. We come back again
(01:50:50):
next week, sure was pet Ican't wait for that. All right,
sounds good Again next week we'll beback at it here at Carson Park,
New Richmond, at Oaklaire North andanother situation or north. If they win,
they get in right again. They'vegot basically two more games if they
lose to Hudson, which looks likethey will, to get into the playoffs,
release get on the bubble. Needto win to get in. They've
(01:51:10):
got a New Richmond to start itoff. Which is gonna be really tough.
Then on the road to River Falls. It's endless season, so it's
gonna be a fun week next week, all right, Great job by Shansaka
and for all the folks here, including Dan Zons, I'm Pete Koots in
your final score from Carson Park,It's Oaklaire Memorial thirty five and Superior nine.
Chris Counter, I'm round and thirdand coming for home. This has
