you back into the broadcast. This is an interesting game,
of course, Boyceville rank number four, they're six and zero, undefeated.
They've been a powerhouse all season. Colefax, to put it kindly, hasn't.

Yeah, Well, what are you looking for? What are you
expecting coming into this game?

Speaker 8 (02:19):
Well, this is Colefax's chance to really get that first
win of the season here, and really the first win
of in multiple years now, dating back to really twenty
nineteen where their final two games were when I was
actually playing for Colefax.

Couple of wins there. But this is your chance to
play spoiler. If you're coal Fax. You're going against a
team that thinks they can beat you. Know they can
beat you, and have beaten teams quite like you throughout
the full season. But that kind of big headedness, though,
could also lead to a downfall if you're not careful
like Boyce bail is usually.

Boys is usually pretty careful.

I'd have to say, I would say that they're a
well coached team.

But you've always got to make sure to watch your
blind side, though, especially when it comes to teams that
you don't really expect playing above and beyond what they
usually can.

Absolutely, you know, the saying is any given Sunday, any
given Friday to here at this level in high school
really not out of the question for a team like
Colefax to at least try and play spoiler here. As
we nearly ready for kickoff here, from Boyceville on a
beautiful night here in western Wisconsin. Says it's fifty nine

Here for the hometown Boys fill Bulldogs, it's purple helmets,
black jerseys with the white letters and purple pants. And
meanwhile for Colefax, it's the red helmets with the white jerseys,

I think this is gonna be a lot of fun.

I think so too. I think, especially with no expectations
for Colfax coming into this, you're coming in to just
try and win a game here. The pressure's gone. It
just go out there and play some football and if
your boysful, go out there and you get another win,
especially considering they have yet to lose yet this season
and have yet to give up more than fifteen points total,

more than eight points in a game.

Yeah, we saw a touchdown last weekend that.

Felt boring to us, especially watching boys ball for so long.

I mean, this Boysville defense is going to get a
chance here first after the kickoff. They have been quite
the spectacle all season long, and they will certainly be
a tough task here for Colefax.

Be Thomas Atelli doing the kicking duties here be for
Boyce Phill. He gets ready to send it away, moving
from left to right. The kick is in the air,
it's high, and it's fielded at about the twelve yard line.
Looks like that is Jeremiah York running to the far sideline.
Looks like he's taken down up past the twenty five
and up to about the twenty seven. That is where

Colefax will take over. Now Colefax own to seven. They
have not scored more than eighteen points in the game
this season as they start things off first and ten
from their own twenty seven.

And they scored even less than their last game against Cameron,
who also was owen six. Coming into that game, Colefax
own to six going to that game too, lost twelve.
Cameron Coums came out and won twelve to six against Colefax.
There trying to get something more going on the board tonight,
especially on offense.

So here come the Colfax Vikings. It'll be Austin Peterson.
He looks like he's oh, he will be under center here,
two wide receivers toward the near sideline, one on the
far side, and two backs in the backfield for Colefax.
It'll start off with a handoff and not a whole
lot doing there. As it looks like that'll be Jacob
Walls on the carry and he maybe gets back to

the line. They're gonna call it a loss of one
second and eleven.

Speaker 8 (06:25):
Yeah, and that's a great job by ry Dell on
that outside edge to break down and just blow right
through the block right there. Walls is one of their
best running backs, if not their best running back for Colefax,
and he just got absolutely taken down there.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
So it'll be second and eleven. Peterson still under center,
same formation as last time. Three wide receivers, two running
backs for the vikings. Peterson with a pitch now running
near side his Walls. Walls makes a man mislowers the
shoulder and looks like he looks like he gets back

to the line there. A little east west running brings
up third and long.

Speaker 8 (07:05):
Yeah, and just haven't been able to get really anything
before the line of scrimmats right now. Honestly, it's just
been a lot of Jacob Walls runs and he really
hasn't found any kind of gaps or rooms out there
so far. Boysibol's defense has held strong so far in this,
but that was expected. This is a great defense.

Oh, it's been two plays combining for a negative one yards.
I guess yard singular plural linguistics is confusing. Peterson will
be under sid Oh, he's in the shotgun this time.
Three wide receivers toward the far side, one man all

incomplete tight coverage that time, and it looks like it
was Lexton Bennett's all over the intended receiver there.

Yeah, and even if the intended receiver had made that catch,
he would have gone down immediately. Blexton Bennetts had him
completely covered on that far edge and just nothing going
for this Colfax offense tonight.

Coalfax Vikings. Looks like it'll be Grant de Moo back

fall on it, and it is spectacular starting field position
here for these Boysville Bulldogs. They'll have it first in

That was just not only was it a poor snap,
but it was completely off center from really anyone out there.
The punter was luckily able to get back onto it,
but I just couldn't get that punt off. Just not
enough time there, and Boyefel just doing what Boysville does.

Boysville's gonna try their hardest to capitalize on this early
coalfax mistake. First and ten from the thirteen here, as
the man of the season Carson Rowld leads his Bulldogs
out there. He's under center, two backs in the backfield
here as they send a man in motion quick handoff
on first and ten that goes to Tucker Linstrom and

he fights forward to about the ten before he's taken
down second down.

For all the offensive woes that Colefax has had and
have dealt with through most of this season, their defense
has been one of their shining spots, only giving up
a maximum of thirty eight points, giving up thirty eight
points as their biggest margin there on defense, but a
lot better.

Than we've seen in previous seasons.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Absolutely game if three makes it second and seven, we'll
have more on that after this play here, as Rome
hild is under center, two backs and two wide receivers
on second and seven, it's a completion near side to
land in Leslie. Leslie pushing the pile to about the
five as he's swarmed by white jerseys, and that Colefax

defense you were talking about and you were a part
of quite a few years ago is holding up here.
Dan Gain of five makes it third and two.

Yeah, and this is their chance to get a good
stop here on Boysville to start off this game. A
couple of yards there. That's kind of what their bread
and butter is, Especially short gains, they've been able to
really make the most of them.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Boyceville has never scored fewer than thirty nine points this season.
Colefax has never given up more than thirty eight. So
something's got to give here. Third and two to nine
minutes to go here in the first quarter, as it
will be a handoff that goes to Zach Hellendrung who
applows through the line and comes just short of the
goal line down at about the one. It'll be second

And that's that's just what they need to keep the
drive alive there. You don't want to have a fourth
down in shorts, especially against the defense that you don't
really aren't really haven't had a lot of experience with
right now and in this Goalfax defense has gotten a
lot better over the season.

It'll be right at the two here for Boyceville. Rome

fights his way forward, lowers the shoulder, and he's into

Yeah, and just a great way to capitalize for boys
Feld being able to that's their great running attack, being
able to have a multiple multitude of different players out
there being able to get the ball and just go
for it, especially Zach Hellen Drunk who just absolutely bowls
over the top of people.

Eight twenty seven left to go on the first quarter,
and Boyceville has taken a seven to nothing lead over Colefax.
Noah Schwartz and Dan Zohon's alongside you hear is cole
Facts getting ready for their second offensive possession.

Speaker 8 (12:51):
Yeah, and they need to have a little bit better blocking,
especially coming from the offensive line, not just on special teams.
That was just a complete That was just a complete
my sap on that punt, but just on offense specifically,
the offensive line needs to find some gaps and let
walls actually get some holes to move in and out of.
He's one of the better running backs that they have
on this team. Is a very fast guy. Is one

of the better running backs in the dun Saint Croix
is just a sophomore, but just you need to be
able to get some kind of room as a running back,
otherwise you're not gonna be able to do much.

I have a total of zero yards three and out
on their first possession. They'll try and do better this
time as Zach Hellendron kicks it away for Boyceville at
one fielded at about the six yard line. Once again,
it's Jeremiah Yorke on the return, running to the far
sideline and he's taken down just shy at the twenty
five and that's where these coal Fax Vikings will take over.

Yeah, kind of similar starting field position there. But like
I had said before, I'll reiterate my point, there needs
to be better blocking out there, especially coming from the
offensive line. The running backs have been doing pretty decently
blocking out there, but this voiceful defense, you need to
be blocking perfectly if you want any chance to.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Win, absolutely, and just any kind of positive yardage here
would be something to build on here for Colefax, I'm
sure that's what their coaches and their players are looking for.
Is they start things off first and ten from their
own twenty three two wide receivers toward the near sideline,
as it'll be their quarterback Austin Peterson under center. Two
backs in the backfield as well. You're on first and ten.

It's a quick handoff and plowing forward into the pile
is a running back here for Colefax. Looks like maybe
a gain of one on that one, as it was
Jacob Walls on that carry.

Now, any positive game is a positive game, especially in
a game of yards and inches.

It's a slow start for sure, but anything to get
some momentum going forward, especially in this offensive drive for Colfax.

Second and nine, they gained a yard. They're at their
own twenty four here with seven forty seven and counting
left to play in this first quarter. Once again Peterson
under center. Once again, he will hand the ball off
and he will.

Looks like Walls was sent backwards by Helen Drunk third down.

I'm not one hundred percent sure. I'm gonna have to
see who actually comes back out there, but I'm pretty
sure Grant Damo, one of the younger running our younger quarterbacks,
actually came in for a set there.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Yeah, definitely was nineteen and not six, So we'll keep
our eyes peeled and see if Demo is out there
here on third down. Kind of tough to see from
our vantage point, but it will be third and twelve
after the loss of three here for coal Facts, a
little problem with the snap.

He's back to pass under heavy drest somehow gets it away,
but that one flutters harmlessly to the turf in between
a couple of receivers, one of whom was Peterson, but
Demo really no opportunity to complete that one. It's fourth
and twelve and it should be another punt here for Colefax.

Yeah, and Austin Peterson is kind of an all around guy.
He has had some rushing yards and not the best
passing yards in the dun Saint Croix, but he's been
able to kind of do whatever he needs to to
try and get his team a win out there.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Back to return two players here for Boyceville. That's Leslie
and Rome Hild at about the forty. This time, the
kick is away high and it lands just shy a midfield.
It is taken by one of the up men and
he puts together a decent return there looks like that
was Lexton Bennett's and he gets that nearly to the

forty yard line, so still plus territory here for boys Field, say,
look to extend their seven to nothing lead.

Yeah, and that was just a great return there by
Bennetts to make something out of what looked like was
almost a punt and or it was a very high punt.
I'm surprised he didn't really get lost in the lights there,
but he's able to corral it and just run forward.
Now they have great starting field position around the forty
and it's gonna be interesting to see what kind of
attack they come out with this time. Mean more of
a running attack that last time.

little bit more field to work with compared to last time,
as somewhere about thirty more yards twenty nine. Don't do
math on airs. Rome Hild fakes the handoff on first
and ten. He's under duress, three white jerseys around him,
and he's gonna have to throw that one toward the
Colfax sideline incompletion on first down. Can't complain about that

No, No, that was some great pressure that It was
a different scheme. They kind of had an unblocked player
on that far left side that was able to get
straight at Romhild cause that dress and I mean we've
seen rome Hill get out of the pocket and make
some magic out there. Just couldn't find anyone downfield and
had to throw it away.

and that you need to really sell that fake if

The fake got all the defensive linemens still thinking it
was a run, and just found his man wide open
deep down the field.

Rome Hill to Maze, high arching throw and you just
love to see that if you're a fan of offensive football.

little bit here, but Carson Romhild had that forty two
yard touchdown pass to Bradley Mays. He's doing a good

job of staying out of.

Of course, we saw him last week in Spring Valley
get out of a sack and throw a touchdown that
really put the game out of reach.

What as we get here ready for this kickoff? It's
a little squib kick and it is fielded at about
the fifteen here by cole Fax up to about the
thirty before the runner is taken down. Looks like the
ball might be out.

It is recovered by Boysville and the hits just keep
on coming. Dan, I was gonna ask you, what is
having a quarterback like Carson Romhild, meaning to these Boysville Bulldogs,
when he can get out of trouble and make things
happen downfield like that, I.

Mean, it just opens up the offense because now you
have a dual threat, dynamic quarterback that can not only
take a hit and run through a player, but also
a player that can has kick has returned kickoffs or
touchdowns twice this season. I mean, having a guy that
says dynamic is that can really open up that playbook
and really forces the offense to kind of play very

very carefully because you have to watch and see what
everyone's doing on that line, no matter if it's the
skill player, it's the offensive lineman. Just for any kind
of cues you can get to get an advantage.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Fifteen to nothing is rome Hilled went in for the
two point conversion. Last time, Boysfield gets the ball right
back thanks to the fumble first and ten from the
thirty two boys fil throws complete once again. It's May's
on the far sideline. Looks like they're going to give
them nine on that one. As May's out of bounds
right toward the sticks. We're gonna have to see where

Short, and so far it's just been a lot of
passing ever since that first drive that got stalled out
for a little bit, but they were able to have
manage to push through did Boyceville. Now they're kind of
really able to find spots all over the defense, just
no one's able to really stick to their player out
there on the Kolpak's defense.

opening quarter, as Rome hild leads the Bulldogs out there,

He fumbles, that ball is scooped up by land In Leslie,
and Leslie will be down at the twenty. So it'll

that's not one that they're going to like to watch

Vie no, especially because that was just a straight up
player coming in and ripping that out. That wasn't a
that wasn't a hit, that yard of out. That was
someone that grabbed that ball clean out of Helen Drunk's hands.
And that's one of your big backs too.

twenty yard line for Boyceville as the Bulldogs doing a
good job to get that football back back to pass
is Rome Hild after a high snap, he's gonna roll
out to his left, fakes the throw.

I thought he got out of it, but know he
was dragged down by that back of that shoulder. It'll
be a loss of a couple and second down. Good
showing there from the Colfax defense.

Yeah, And it's a great job on that defensive end
to not allow Rome Hill to just run.

Outside the pocket.

We've seen that so much where he's able to just
kind of sit around and then find that area of
space just outside of the edge. And they close that
down very tightly. And you can tell that was one
of the emphasises in practices for the Colfax defense as coaches.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Yeah, Rome Hill never let his eyes drop below the horizon.
I guess you might say kept him downfield. But it
is a loss of three on the snack. On the
sack on second and thirteen, it's a little end around
to Leslie and Leslie along the near sideline.

Speaker 6 (23:49):
He's gonna go into the end zone.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
That is another Boyceville touchdown third of the quarter.

Speaker 8 (23:56):
And right now is just the secondary cannot close down
those gas and it's allowing boycefil to just run free
and wild out there whenever they can get that edge,
and that's kind of what they've been able to see
and go around Landon. Leslie just took advantage of that
week defense on the outside edge, but also great blocking
by the wide receivers to be able to manage to

allow that to go downfield. Just a great job by
Leslie and a great job by the wide receivers blocking.

and Boycevil looking to add a twenty second We'll look
out for the fake field goal. I doubt we'll see

but just need to have that consistent blocking and especially

has gotten four sacks on the season. He'll come screeching

right through there. So you really have to really not
only close down those edges, but you have to open
up the gaps in between those defensive linemen.

Yeah, and they look like they had something going there
with Walls. It looked like there's maybe a little bit
of space for him to do something. But almost as
soon as it like almost as soon as it popped up,
it just collapsed. I mean, that's just what this defense
does all season.

Very good at collapsing down and taking away these lanes,
these holes for these rushers to get through. It'll be
fourth and sixth from the forty seven and punt formation
here for Colefax. High snap brought down and boot it away.
That'll be a deep punt as that'll be fielded inside

and that is where Boyceville will take over up twenty

I mean that kind of subverts our expectations for this
game a little bit here. As you know, Colefak's able
to put a drive together, able to pin Boyceville back
deep here in the late goings to the first quarter.
What does Colefax have to do defensively to stop this
bulldog offense.

I mean, we saw a little bit of it.

You have to get those tricky blitz designs out there
that netted in a sack and then almost netting another
sack of rome Hild in that same drive. But that
those kind of tricky formations are what's gonna really make
a difference here first.

And ten from the seventeen it's a hand off to
oh fake handoff to Helen Drug. Rome Hill's throwing deep,
but just a little bit too deep. That ball all
the way from about the ten yard line to the
opposite thirty five, but just too far. As it was
both Leslie and looked like Lindstrom in the area, but
in completion second.

Down, and you got to give credit to this Colfax
defensive line. I mean, that looked like it could have
been a massive touchdown there for Rome Hill, but they
got right into his face and made a difference there
and forced him to get not only get hit, but
throw that a little bit further than he's used to.

line here for Boysville as they're backed up behind their

real one. And along the far sideline up to about

I will say when they actually are getting close, they're

Voice Bawl offense is so big and is so physical
it's just almost too much to really like. It's too much.
They're asked for consistent tackling because they're just gonna keep
powering through. So you got to really drag them down
by their ankles. Otherwise they're just gonna keep running through
arm tackles.

he's gotten hit a couple of different times tonight from
Colefax and Boysful usually doesn't allow much in terms of
hits or really quarterback sacks for the most part, So
I think it's just a little bit of trying to
get his groove back out there, because I mean, those
they've been some pre throws. They just really haven't hit
their mark.

Colefax has had some flashes here and there, but it's
been quite literally all boysful since the kickoff has felt

saw a lot of Grant Demo out there. They kind

it's just kind of a massive humanity there, and it'll
be a loss of a couple there. For coal Fax
could not even see who got the ball. It was
that much of a swarm of bulldozz.

a five yard loss on that just the way that
the swath of boysful bulldogs just overcame the line certainly deflating.

full throttle. This is kind of what we're expecting from
a boysful Bulldog defense. But I mean, Colfax's offense there
just really hasn't had any time, especially on the offensive line,
to like you managed to get a snap off.

going backwards, looks like it's demowing the shotgun again, every
pressure again, throws over the middle of that time complete
as looks like that was Easton Wetland taking that catch

got to take. And especially the slant game has been
working for them. I think maybe finding some more slant
plays that can really open up some of their receiver
some of their receivers out there. So I mean, they've

got some good hands. We just saw one of their
wide receivers make great play on the ball, Easton Wedland,
who also plays pretty good defensive back as well. It
made a great catch out there in what looked like
it could have been broken up. So you gotta find

multiple times in a row, that kind of doesn't really

Well, I mean, so far in this game, we've seen
a lot of wasteful action for the most part, but
for the Colfax side of things, there really hasn't been
all that much. We have the defensive line that's really
been able to find a way to get so stop.
But for the most part Voiceville, they find they get stopped,
but they recuperate and they find their way to go again.

And that's just kind of what we've seen.

Rome Hills, he's he had a couple of stretches where
he was overthrowing his receivers, under throwing his receivers, couldn't
really find his groove out there, and almost resulted in
a couple of fourth downs that could have been punts
if it were any other teams. But Boysvill went for
it and Rome Hill was able to find his way,
find his dude, find his confidence back out there and

really has thrown it. He has almost He has over
twenty touchdowns now passing on the season. Twenty touchdowns passing
on the season. No one's even close. In the Dun
Saint Croix.

He is unbelievable to watch week in and week out.
You know, the first time we were here, that rainstorm
must have been about a month ago.

we thought it was a fluke. He had what three

tonight as well too. And I think also something to
touch on is just his leadership ability with his guys.
He takes accountability for his own He was shown out there.

He had, kept his head high, was rallying around with
his teammates and was communicative. And that's what you want
a leader. That's what you want a quarterback too. And
you can attest the success here from this team to

happens with all their offensive linemen, all their defensive linemen,
and really all over this team. It's something that they've

really preached out there, and you can really see it
in action if you look really closely at just the
players out there and how they talk to each other.

believes so much in their offense, their offensive line, the
defensive line that they think, even if we did screw up,

gotta love having that kind of confidence.

I'm sure what is now a five score lead on
the scoreboard scoreboard has a little bit to do with that,
but really, all season long, Boysville has been showing that
they are a championship caliber football team, especially led by
their quarterback Carson Romhild, who has been excellent tonight. Three

Yeah, and that's going to add to his already stellar
passing touchdowns. He's I added two on the season night,

the games that we've seen, they've usually get their starters

deficit come back by the Buffalo Bills in the nineteen

don't have much for weaknesses. One of them that I

it's just penalties that should not happen. But that comes
with being a very aggressive team, and that's what Boyce
phl is you're gonna get penalties like that, but they

can really start to add up when it gets to
playoff time. If you're still having holding penalties, if you're
still having past interference penalties, if you're still going up
and making a player misconduct or whatever, you just cannot
have those come playoff time. And that's gonna be something
they definitely work on here, something we saw a lot

gotta feel great about what just happened tonight, Because I mean,
a lot of teams will come into games like these
and they'll get big headed and we'll say, oh, yeah,

sixty point blowout of game. Colfax just kept fighting in it, though,

because they didn't let down. They didn't stop, they didn't

Were they out of this game pretty early on, yes,
but they still kept fighting for And that's kind of
