Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is a special presentation of iHeartMedia Sports on Moose
Country one oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
It's time for high school football right here on Moose
Country one O six point seven FM, Moose one O
six dot com and iHeartRadio. My name is Noah Schwartz
alongside Dan Zones as always, and we are here live
with you from Colefax, Wisconsin, Dan's hometown, where we look
to close off the high school regular season on a
(00:30):
high note. As we've got Spring Valley and Colefax. So
Dan coming into this game, let's get right into it here.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
What are you looking for?
Speaker 4 (00:38):
First and foremost, Well, obviously Colefax has had a bit
of a tumultuous season, you could say zero to eight
right now. Haven't really been close in their last few
matchups except for against Cameron, which this defense has been
the really the high point of this team.
Speaker 5 (00:54):
Throughout the season.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
They've lowered their point differential from last year, which was
really bad too somewhat bad this year.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
It's an improvement. It's an improvement.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
It's the little steps, it's the baby steps, and that's
what you need to do if you're gonna try and
build back a program. And nothing could help build back
a program tonight, like a win against Spring Valley. But
if you're gonna do that, you need to have a
tough run defense because that Asher Turner guy from the
Spring Valley team, he doesn't care. He's gonna go run
right through you because he wants to get that thousand
yard season just twenty yards away.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Twenty yards away. It's gonna be tough to stop him,
like it is most nights. We've been lucky enough to
see both of these teams quite a few times. Of course,
Spring Valley coming in at four and four in their
offense really going through Asher Turner here. But Colfax ain't.
They've got some talent on both sides of the ball too.
It looks like we're going to go down to the
(01:44):
field for the national anthem. We'll pick this up here
in just a moment. Here is the star spangled banner.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
At Erci.
Speaker 6 (02:18):
Sercisers something there aer pus and with.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
That Dan, we're ready for football, Yes we are right now.
It's gonna be a tough game between these two teams.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
Spring Valley coming off of a couple a couple a
game lost now losing both to if I believe correctly,
Glenwood City, which that one seemed like a game that
they could potentially have won.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Their losing twenty seven to seven, not the way they
wanted to lose, and.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
Then losing to Boyceville forty two to seven, and we
thought both of those would be closer games than they were,
a lot of miscues on both ends of the field
for them, and just haven't really been able to find
their stride since then. Now they hope to get that Colfax,
hopefully get that win to end the season to get
themselves into the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
Here in the dun Saint Croix.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Absolutely, those Spring Valley Cardinals looking to get up above
five hundred for what would be the first time this season,
sitting right at the five hundred mark year at four
and four, and they've.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Been a lot of fun to watch.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Of course, nine to zero last year, had virtually their
entire starting lineup turnover, but still a lot to be
proud about there for Spring Valley. Meanwhile, for cool facts,
we've touched on it. It hasn't been pretty, but certainly
a chance to play spoiler tonight any given Friday, any.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Given Friday, and they've looked better and better as the
season has progressed. Obviously not the best looking win thirty
six to nothing against Boyceville. However, they held that point.
They held that point differential lower than most of the
teams that are quote unquote better than them throughout this season.
Although they weren't able to get a point on the board.
That's not really their strength. Their strength has been defense
(04:49):
so far throughout the season. Offense, they're still trying to
work their way into it. They've had miscues all over
the place, but running the football has mainly been their
strength on the offense.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
But they're gonna need a strong offensive line.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
Against Spring Valley defensive line that can really tear apart
a game.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Absolutely, this Coalfax team. Of course, we had the privilege
of seeing them last week in that loss against Boysville,
but lost in that in what was on the scoreboard
in that game was the fact these Colfax Vikings on
defense pitched a second half shutout. Hard thing to do
against a team of boyce CL's caliber.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Absolutely, and not only that, they had a massive sack,
a couple of sacks actually, and nearly an interception at
that late stage of the game while Boysville was kind
of trying to sub their team out towards the later half.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
Towards a later bit of that half, they were.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
Really able to keep up with them and keep it
close it whatever that halftime speech was.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
They came out firing.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
And the defense did what they could, but the offense
just could not find their way onto the scoreboard. We'll
see what happens. They've got Jacob Walls out there. Two
hundred and eighty eight yards only two point one yards
per carry. He's had a couple of games that have
been a little bit up above and beyond for him.
There's been a few games where he's only had like
twenty or thirty yards. But this is also a sophomore too,
(06:03):
being the main starting back out there.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
That's a hard thing to do.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
You're still trying to get to your junior level of experience,
and this is just a very young player getting out
there and getting a lot of the handles so far.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
For Colfax, we'll keep an eye on that.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Let's take a quick look at your uniform match up
here before we get started. The visiting Spring Valley Cardinals
going at the white helmets with the Cardinals on them,
white jerseys and black numbers and black pants here for
Spring Valley and meanwhile for the Colefax Vikings, they've got
the red helmets with the white stripes, red jerseys with
the white numbers, and white pants with the red stripes.
Here for Colefax. As we are just about ready to
(06:38):
get underway, Isaac Cannon kicks that one away. It's on
the far sideline, bounces about the twenty, looks like it
was gonna stay in bounds for a moment, but goes
out of bounds at about the twelve. So it'll be
good starting field position here for the Colefax Vikings.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
Yeah, and that's excellent starting field position for them, and
a place where they have really struggled throughout most of
the season has been their starting drives. They really haven't
gotten anything to go in the first quarters for them
through much of the season. Albeit they haven't really found
much of the rhythm scoring either. But right now, this
is your chance to really start off the game strong.
You know, they have these plays all planned out. They're
(07:12):
gonna want to get down the field. They want to
get that first touchdown here against a strong Spring Valley team.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Let's see how these Colefax Vikings do as it will
be first and ten ball at their own thirty five
yard line, So we get ready to go in this
one under center, looks like it will be Austin Peterson.
He fakes the handoff, No, he does give the ball
off and that is a big gain for Colefax.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
On the first play.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Of the game up past midfield through about the Spring
Valley forty six yard line. That was Jacob Wall on
the carry and one play, one first down. Colefax comes
out firing then.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
And that's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
That's the hard running that Jacob Wall brings to this team,
and that's why he's been the bell cow back for a.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Majority of this season.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
Two hundred and eighty eight yards on there, and that's
just great blocking from this Colfax offensive line.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Forty four left to play. It'll be first and ten
ball right at the Spring Valley forty five here for Colefax.
It'll be Peterson under center again. Two backs in the backfield,
little eye formation, look as they handed to Wall again
while this time running left. He's up past the forty
to about the thirty eight yard line before he meets
(08:20):
a massive White Jerseys.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Good game of about seven there.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
Second down, Yeah, and that's what's going to be needed
for this Colfax team tonight to really get that rhythm going.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
Is a strong running game to start this off.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
And already you're near that thirty five yard line a
spring valley. Already a great start to this game, and
you need to keep that momentum and rhythm up if.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
You're this Colfax offense.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Second and two, it looks like more like three here
as Colefax comes to the line. It's a shotgun look
here for Peterson. He'll pitch that one off for the
third time on this drive. It is Jacob wall Walla's
got the first down, big stiff arm along the far
(09:01):
sideline as he's up past the thirty out of bounds
to the twenty eighth.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
And that whole boundary line was almost wide open there.
That was a great block on that outside edge there
by Grant Paulus, who's gone a few carries this year,
one of the only seniors for this Colfax team, and
he set out a great block on that edge and
no one got around to getting home. Another first down
there for Colefax.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Those Colefax Vikings offense, they're really driving here. After being
shut out last week against that powerhouse Boyceville defense, will
be first and ten ball right at about the thirty
yard line here for Colefax. Other if formation look this
time a handoff looks like that was Grant Paulis on
the carry and Paulus gains maybe a yard second down.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Yeah, and that was a great job there by Brandon
greg number seventy eight for that defensive line. The six
foot two junior just kind of plugged up the middle
there and caused a loss, almost beat his man right
off the line there and just completely made a pile.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
So it is a loss of one, bringing up second
and eleven here for cole Fax. First time we've seen
them go backwards thanks to the Spring Valley defense. Ten
minutes to play left here in this first quarter, as
it'll be a shotgun look for Peterson. He gets rid
of it near side but incomplete as easton Wedland, the
intended receiver has it go through his hands, and even.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
Though he's a freshman, he's the leading receiver for this
Colfax team. Eleven receptions over two hundred and fifty two
yards for the young receiver. He's one of their sure
handed receivers out there, but just couldn't.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Come up with it that time.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Now, third down and long third and eleven on the
field clock stopped at nine to fifty four left to
go here in this first quarter of play, as it
is Colefax driving on the opening drive against Spring Valley.
Third and eleven is the Colfax Vikings come to the line.
Looks like another shotgun. Look here for Austin Peterson. A
couple of guys go in motion here, one wide receiver
(10:49):
all alone toward the near sideline for Colefax. Another man
in motion, that's Paulus. As Peterson takes the snap, pitches.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
Right to Wall.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Wall has got he's got space now, Jacob Wall, Oh, that.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
One's gonna be mighty close.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
But it looks like he's got enough for another coal
Fax first down.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
That pitch just completely took them off the rails. They
were not expecting that at all.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
They played more pass, played a little bit softer, and
their linebackers backed off a bit, and that led for
Wall to just absolutely pile drive right through. And he
is a hard guy to tackle. You got to really
put your shoulder pads into him. Arm tackles just don't
work against him.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Third and eleven, Colefax gets thirteen. It's a new set
of downs here and they'll be first and ten from
about the seventeen here as Peterson goes under center, this
time is a handoff once again that goes to Grant
Paulus and Paulus gets to maybe about the sixteen. Looks
like a game of one second down.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
Yeah, and Aaron Morrow really came back up from that
linebacker position to stop any kind of a any kind of.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
More of the bleeding for that running game.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
So far, it's been the outside runs that really been
the bread and butter for this Colefax team. But those
inside runs they just haven't really found a rhythm with
it yet.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Gain of two.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
It's second and eight ball right at the fifteen yard
line here for Colefax. Peterson under center once again an
I formation look for the Vikings as time is a
hand off to Wall and Wall running left find some
open space up past the ten to about the eight.
There's another good carry that's gonna be mighty close to
the line to gain here for Colefax. Looks like they
(12:22):
will spot them right at the tent.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
And of course, as soon as I say that inside
game hasn't really been working, Jacob Wall proves me wrong
and runs it up for a big game there now,
making it a bit of a third and manageable here.
You can really play with that playbook a bit if
you're Colfax eight twenty.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Five and counting remaining here in the first quarter. No
score between Colefax and Spring Valley on the opening drive
will be third and three, ball right at the ten
yard line here for Colefax, as it will be a
handoff once again, that is Wall. Wall pushes forward into
the pile and we're gonna have to see where they
spot him.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
It's looking like it might be a little bit short,
but it's really close to that first down marker.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Looks like they're gonna call it just about fourth and one.
But I would be shocked if Colfax doesn't leave the
offense out there for this one now.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
The way they've been gashing the Spring Valley defense, they've
been really finding their way with this consistency on the
run game, and the Kolfax fans are really feeling it
right now.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Cole Fax fans are ready. They're happy to see their
offense out there on fourth and one, seven minutes and
forty seconds left to play in the opening quarter, ball
on the eight yard line here is Peterson is under center,
four wide receivers.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
It's a handoff to Wall. Wall didn't need a whole lot.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
It looks like he got it though, And I think
I'm right in saying that is another first down for
the Coalfax Vikings.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
Yeah, and like you just said, he didn't really need
much their fourth and one and was able to gain
about three and.
Speaker 5 (13:44):
Just making sure they actually did. You can hear the
Colfax fans saw that first down and that cheers and
the roars came up.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
And now it's first and goal, first and goal here
ball at the seven yard line for these coal Fax Vikings.
A battle of two teams with red and white uniforms.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
As it will be.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Peterson under center again another eye formation. Look this time
it is a hand off to Wall again, Wall inside
the five pushing forward dives for the goal line and
the signals. It's a coal Fax touchdown on the opening
drive carrying the mail and the Vikings are up six
to nothing.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
And they wanted to give him that one for a
touchdown because he has absolutely carried this drive. I mean
almost every single one has been a handoff to him
or Grant Pauls.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
And what a work out there.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
I mean they have absolutely been able to find their
rhythm on that offensive line. Offensive lines getting their blocking,
and looks like they might be going for two here.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
It looks like the ball is spotted where you'd put
a two point conversion attempt here. Seven h seven left
to go here in the opening quarter, as Coalfax taking
a six to nothing lead over Spring Valley, they will
go for two as Austin Peterson is under center. It's
another I formation, look wall the back in the backfield
(15:02):
and he gets into the end zone for the successful
two point conversion. Really not a whole lot of resistance
on that one, and full FAC's able to take an
eight to nothing lead here over Spring Valley. Seven oh
seven left to play, and you're on the first quarter,
and we'll step aside. You're on your home for high
school football.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
This is Friday night lights on Moose Country. One oh
six point seven.
Speaker 5 (15:26):
For the last fifteen.
Speaker 7 (15:27):

the days of hiding your smile, call Affordable Dentures for

zero two zero.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
It's your home for high school football Mooseca one six
point seven.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Welcome back, Nola, Schwartz and Dan Zion's alongside you. Hear
from Colefax where the Vikings have taken an eight to
nothing lead over Spring Valley on a great opening drive
really carried by Jacob Wall.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Absolutely and you can literally say carried by Jacob Wall.
Almost every single one of those carries was by Jacob Wall,
including that touchdown and then a two point conversion after
just a great start from him. This is exactly what
I was talking about. They needed to get a good start,
good first possession here, and I was thinking maybe if
they could get to the inside of Spring Valley's territory,
(16:35):
maybe it'd be a good sign for them to start off.
But getting a touchdown on that first drive, perfect job
by this Colfax offense.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Grand Paulus is set to kick it away as Colefax
will be kicking from left to right here to Spring Valley.
The kick is up in the air, kind of a
line drive fielded about the fifteen. Looks like that Sam
Schmidt here for Spring Valley. Schmidt running toward the far
side up to about the thirty pushing forward to about
the thirty two to thirty three somewhere in their good
return for Schmidt, and we've seen a couple of those
(17:05):
this year from him, and now we get a chance,
our first chance tonight to see this Spring Valley offense,
of course, headlined by their star running back Asher Turner.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
Yeah, and of course Asher Turner is gonna be the
name of the game here. He's got nine hundred and
eighty three yards on the season, closing in on a
thousand yards.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
Big congratulations to him if he can get it this game.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
But if you're Colfax, you're gonna want to close up
on him, and you know that game plan is gonna
be stopping Asher Turners for this expect some Mason Winger
action out there on the quarterback position.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
It'll be first and ten from their own thirty two
yard line here for Spring Valley. Mason Winger is under
center and the handoff does go to Asher Turner.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
Turner fights forward.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
For a gain of couple up to about the thirty
four yard line where he has stopped. Excuse me, that
is not Turner, that is Sam Schmidt, their other running
back who they go to quite a bit. Schmidt with
a gain of a couple second in eight.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
Yeah, and it's interesting they don't have Asher Turner starting
out there right now. But I mean they're probably trying
to get as many different players out there as possible
to kind of change it up on colfax here. But still,
this is a Spring Valley team you cannot take for granted.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Looks like it's Turner and Schmidt in the backfield. Winger
is under center now on second and eight ball right
on the thirty four yard line, and the handoff this
time it does go to Turner. Turner running to his
right up to about the thirty nine yard line. Looks
like it's a gain of five on second and eight,
makes it third and manageable.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
And it looked like Easton Wedling came up with the tackle.
They're the freshman again called his name, this time for
a very positive thing.
Speaker 5 (18:30):
He made a great solo tackle on that play.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
There's a couple of players that came in at the end,
but he was the one that made first contact and
really stopped him right there. Great job for the freshman
fin p.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Fifty four and counting left to go here in the
first quarter, it is third and three, the ball right
on the thirty nine yard line here for Spring Valley
as in is winger under center, still an I formation
look and oh, looks like somebody jumped.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
We got movement ahead of.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
The snap, and to me, that looks like we'll have
to check in with the gentleman wearing the white hat tonight.
Speaker 5 (19:03):
Yeah, and it looks like they're going forward with it.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
So a bit of an encroachment there, Yeah, a little
bit of an encroachment there from Colfax. Did not mention number,
but a five yard penalty on third and three gives
the Spring Valley Cardinals the first down.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
And honestly, for that one, it looked like maybe three
of the Colfax's defenders came off sides on that, so
it might be hard to find a number out.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
There'll be first and ten, ball right at the forty
four yard line, right in.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Front of us here in the press box.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Five twenty seven and counting left to play here in
the first quarter, Winger with the handoff running to the
near side of Schmid, Schmidt to his left across midfield.
He's got space forty thirty five thirty one man to beat.
He cuts back inside and he's taken down just about
the twenty yard line.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
Sam Schmidt on the carry.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
Holy cow, what a move by Schmidt to keep that's
the speedster right there. He absolutely took the top off
the defense. As soon as that end got beat on
the inside. He absolutely torched that Colefax defense, getting them
all the way to the twenty yard line.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
What a run, big carry for Schmidt there.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
It's this Spring Valley offense trying to even things up
on the scoreboard. Here five to Zho three in counting left.
Here in the opening quarter, his winger is under center.
I formation look once again for Spring Valley. This time
I will be a handoff to Turner. Turner to his
right on a little inside zone play. Looks like he
gets maybe a yard, not a whole lot of space
(20:29):
on that play, but a good use of a down,
second down.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
And I've really liked the job that this Colfax defensive
line has done throughout much of this season. Their defensive linemen,
especially their inside tackles, have been very good at stopping
the run and have even caused some disruptions in the
pass protection game too.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
Second and nine, after the game of one there for
Turner spring Valley comes back to the line. Here looks
like they're putting Winger in the shotgun. No, now he
goes under center. Two wide receivers spring Valley both towards
the far sideline for the Cardinals on back in the
backfield is Turner. This time it's a handoff to the left,
(21:08):
Turner with some more space pushing forward to about the sixteen,
maybe the fifteen, depending on the spot. It's gonna be close,
but it makes it a more manageable third down.
Speaker 5 (21:18):
Yeah, and it's gonna be interesting to see what they
do next year.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
Kind Of a couple of inside runs, but that last
one a little bit more outside. However, that last one
with Schmidt on that boundary line kind of more of
a toss play. If anything really open that up. Let's
see if they do that something sort of like that
again Here on third down.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Will be third and four officially ball at about the
fifteen and a half yard line. Here is Spring Valley
trying to threaten to tie the game.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
They're trailing eight to nothing.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Here on their first offensive possession, Swinger under center again,
Turner the only back in the backfield for the Cardinals,
and he gets the ball again, running to his right,
makes a move, cuts up field.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
Five touchdown Spring.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Valley Asher Turner, big carry for him in a big touchdown,
and now they're just a two point conversion away from
tying this football game.
Speaker 5 (22:09):
And that's the danger of Asher Turner.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
Why, this is why he's almost got a thousand yards
rushing on the season alone. He is a dangerous back
to have out there. And if you're not watching for
him in game playing to make sure that you're stuffing
all the necessary gaps, you're just gonna let him run
freely there.
Speaker 5 (22:26):
And that's exactly what he just did.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Once he reached that second level. It felt like he
was really able to turn on the burners. Not really
a long field, but certainly able to find that space
here on that touchdown.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Now they'll go for two.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
It's its winger under center again, this time three backs
in the backfield for Spring Valley. Ball goes to Turner again.
Turner dives forward to the goal line. One official is
saying he's in. One official saying he's not. Oh, this
is gonna be close. The official on the far sideline
has his hands up indicating the convert was good. The
(23:00):
other one was waving it off. Have yet to put
it on the scoreboard, so we'll we'll hang around here.
Speaker 4 (23:06):
I believe I believe the ref that was closest to
the sideline overruled the ref calling it a touchdown because
he had a better angle of it on that far
left side. He saw the knee down first before the
ball went over the cross air. But now now they're
calling it down.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
They're signaling at two point successful, two point ten.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (23:23):

Touchdown, It's your home for high school football Moose Country
one zero six point seven.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
Welcome back.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
We're tied at eight three sixteen left to go here
in the first quarter, Noah Schwartz and Dan Zon's with you.
Is Isaac Canning for Spring Valley kicks that one up
going from right till left. That one fielded inside the
twenty looks like that is Jeremiah York for Colefax. He
gets up past the twenty to about the twenty four,
and that's where the Colefax Vikings will start off this drive.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
And this Colfax team has a bit less players than
the Spring Valley right now, especially depth wise, so you're
gonna see a lot of players playing on both sides
of the ball, a lot of younger players playing.
Speaker 5 (24:41):
On both sides of the ball as well too.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
And exhaustion is a factor in this game, so you
have to really make sure you're having your subs come
in and at the correct times.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
I should say, well, two drives two touchdowns. Can't ask
for a better start than that as a fan. Certainly
here is so it'll be Austin Peterson. He's in the shotgun,
wide receiver toward the near side. Now they send a
man in motion, does Colefax, And this time it will
be a handoff. I think that it was Wall on
the carry and he fights forward up past the twenty
(25:13):
five to about the twenty six or twenty seven.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
And Wall is the kind of running back that's an
offensive lineman's best friend.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
Because the blocking wasn't really there on the play right away,
but Wall.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Almost made the blocking happen with him pushing and shoving
and absolutely turning and twisting to.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Get that extra yardage.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
And that's what you gotta love having in your backfield,
is a player like that that's willing to push with
his entire might.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Add Colefax stays on schedule A second and seven after
the game of three for Wall. Here is Peterson's shotgun again,
three wide receivers toward the near side. Peterson looking that way,
steps up in the pocket. If aids the rush, now
he cannot he he is set. No, he gets the
ball away. That will be an intentional grounding as the
flag comes up from the official as Peterson just kind
(25:58):
of panicked and flipped a duck over toward the sideline,
got it out of bounds, but he's gonna lose some
yardage for that decision.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
Yeah, a bit of a mishap there.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
He just really needed to calm himself down in that situation,
just throw the ball away, live to fight another day.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
But held onto it a little bit too long there too, absolutely,
but it will be a significant loss here for Coalfax
is there backed up.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
It was second and seven and now ill't know. It
looks like they.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
Haven't marched off any penalty yardage. They're gonna call it
third and seven here, two twenty five left to go.
As this time Peterson is under center in the I formation,
A handoff goes to Wall Wall Matt at the line
and he won't be able to get away as he
is dropped for a loss there on third down. And
I would be surprised if we don't see this coal
Fax punting unit for the first time.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
No, yeah, this is that was just a great job
there by the Spring Valley defensive end and defensive tackle
really colliding there to stop any sort of a gap
from happening. That was absolutely perfect what exactly you needed there?
And now you have a fourth down and nine.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Yeah, fourth and nine, obvious punting situation here for the Vikings,
and it looks they will be content to boot it away.
The lone returner for Spring Valley is Schmid and so
it looks like that it'll be Oh, it is a
fake and an incomplete pass. That one intended for Cole Parzik,
who didn't look like you knew the ball was coming.
He's got his hands up in the air. And now
(27:30):
that'll be great starting field position here for Spring Valley
in a tie game in the first quarter.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
That was just a really bad miscommunication there.
Speaker 5 (27:40):
I don't know what could have gone wrong there.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
They all had to have known the play, so I
don't know what exactly happened to have cause them to think, oh,
I don't know if the ball was coming my way
unless they had an already pre planned receiver that was
going out and that was who they thought the ball
was for sure going to.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Well, it'll be a short field here with a minute
a minute forty one left to go in the opening
quarter here for Spring Valley, as winger leads the Cardinals
out there. He's under center. Another I formation. Look here
for Spring Valley Winger with a pitch to Turner. Turner
running right as he's got a gain of five. Looks
(28:18):
like a little bit more as he's close to that
first down marker on the far sideline. We'll have to
see where the where they spot it.
Speaker 5 (28:26):
He's definitely gonna be close.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
I believe he may have had that, but they're gonna
give him a maybe a one yard two yard disadvantage
there on that first down run.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Looks like it'll be a gain of eight. They're on
first down, making it second and two here for Spring Valley.
As the clock sits at a minute thirty four left
here in the first quarter of play, we're still tied
eight apiece.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting to see. They've been doing
a lot of run plays here. I haven't really seen
Mason Winger throw the ball yet, but you know it's
gonna happen one of these times. He's one of the
better quarterbacks in the dun Saint Croix.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
In the shotgun as they send Schmidt in motion. This time,
Schmid gets it on the Jets sweep Schmidt running Mearse
on trying to.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
Make a man miss, but he's brought down at letter
out the.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
Fourteen yard line. Not a whole lot of yards on
that one, but close.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
You know, at least give him the first down there
for Spring Valley.
Speaker 5 (29:20):
But that was still a great job.
Speaker 4 (29:22):
In getting that open field tackle because that could have
gone potentially all the way down to the five.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
So it will be first and ten here. Spring Valley
gets another set of downs. They're spotting it right at
the fourteen yard line. Swinger will go under center this time.
They're putting three backs in the backfield here for Spring Valley.
No wide receivers the ball. It's a fake handoff.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Play action pass.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Winger throws to the end zone and wide open for
a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Is Brady Lamb.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Spring Valley came out to an eight nothing deficit in
this ballgame. They've just taken the lead with one oh
one left to go the first quarter.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
Yeah, and that does a great job there by Lamb.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
He's only gotten one reception on the year, and his
second reception is a touchdown pass, So how about that.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
Yeah, I'm sure Lamb's happy about that. Winger, of course,
with a very nice play action fake there and a
little roll out right, find the open man in the
end zone and get yourself six points. Here comes Spring Valley.
Looks like they're going for the pa for the two
point conversion as well as Winger is in the shotgun,
Asher Turner beside him in the backfield and one wide receiver.
(30:32):
It's a handoff to Turner. Turner running to his right,
and it looks like he's gonna get in there. That
is a successful two point conversion, no doubt on that one.
And so it will be sixteen to eight here with
sixty one seconds left to go in the first quarter.
We'll step aside here on your home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
This is Friday night lights on Moose Country one oh
six point seven.

It's your home for high school football, Moose Country. One
oh six point seven.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
Welcome back everybody.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
A minute and one second left to go on the
first quarter, and Spring Valley has taken a sixteen to
eight lead here over Colfax on the road. Noah Schworts
and Dan Zoon's alongside you as we get ready for
the Coalfax Vikings to have their third offensive possession here
in the first quarter.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
Yeah, and they had a great first drive here, didn't
really get much going in that second drive, but you
have a chance of your third drive tie this game up.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Caning kicks it away that one high towards the far
sideline fielded about the fourteen. Looks like that is York
and York up pass the thirty before he has taken
out of bounds on that far sideline, So it'll be
good starting field position here for cole Fax.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
Yeah, and Kolflex had the blockers to kind of make
something happen there, but just nothing really materialized. Just kind
of showing how good this Spring Valley special teams.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
Unit can be out there.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
But Colfax, if you're wanting to get back into this game,
some more of that Jacob Walls running really did a
trick there, but they really closed down on that, did
Spring Valley's defense. So now you got to think maybe
there's a little bit of play action coming up here,
something to really throw the defense off a bit, maybe
even some.
Speaker 5 (32:38):
More wide receiver screens.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Ball spotted it on the far hash mark.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
It'll be first and ten right from the thirty one
yard line here for Colefax. So it looks like Peterson
will be under center and I formation look two backs,
two wide receivers. As it is a handoff, looks like
that one went to Paulus, and Paulus it's forward maybe
a yard second down.
Speaker 5 (33:02):
Yeah, I just couldn't really get much going there.
Speaker 4 (33:04):
The offensive line kind of closed down on that, while
the defensive line just absolutely overpowered them up the middle.
Plus those linebackers have been flying around for Spring Valley tonight.
Speaker 5 (33:12):
You got to give credit to credit to them on that.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
So Paulus gets a yard. It'll be second and nine
here for cole Effects. The ball right at their own
thirty two yard line. Here is Peterson is under center.
Twenty one seconds in counting remains. The clock running this
time is a pitch to the right. Here running mirror
side is Wall, and Wall is taken down for a
(33:36):
loss of a few as he's thrown out of bounds
kind of harshly by Spring Valley. But that will stop
the clock with twelve seconds to go on the quarter.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
And I just didn't like Jacob Wall taking that wide
route there. It felt like if he cut inward he
maybe would have had a bit of green grass open,
maybe could have gained five ish sixtiess yards there, But
instead he tried pushing that boundary, thought he could outrun
most of that Spring Valley defense. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.
And now you get backed up to third and ten.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
They close down well, and it is backed up to
third and ten. Ball back at the thirty one yard
line third and ten instead of third and manageable. Big
difference there, as it will be Peterson Peterson in the shotgun,
three wide receivers toward the far side. He looks that
way as he throws to his left, nearly intercepted Asher
(34:24):
Turner has it go through his hands, but that will
bring up fourth and long.
Speaker 4 (34:29):
I don't really know what he was seeing on that
far side. I think he was just trying to force
it in there, because just to get that first down.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
It feels like it's.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
Been go, go go for Colfax so far and obviously
being felt by Peterson there with that throat just a
little bit too much on that pass to a kind
of a sea of white jerseys over there.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
Yeah, Turner Nearly, who had already scored just the running
back Nearly had a chance to go himself. As on
the punt unit, Paulus gets it away, but there's a
flag down. It looks like somebody jumped on that line,
and it looks like they're going to say it is
off sides against spring Valley.
Speaker 3 (35:09):
Here, so they'll get another third down shotter. I guess
it'd be a fourth down shot.
Speaker 5 (35:15):
I believe right here.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
Yeah, fourth down shot. I should say, thank you, Dan. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (35:20):
And that's the thing too.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
You'd think that.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
Maybe they would go for it here rather than at
the twenty where they were last time. But right here,
I think they're ready to just punt it off.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
Looks like they will hear as Paulus is back and
ready to boot it away, gets a good leg into
this one. Spiraling punt lands at about the twenty eight,
fielded by Schmidt. Schmidt now running to his right up
toward midfield trying to cut it up.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
He's at the.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
Twenty six trying to get forward a stiff arm, but
he's taken out a bounds at about the twenty seven
yard line. Flags down, and it looks like that might
be a face mask.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
Yeah, either a face mask or a block in the back.
I saw a couple of different ways that could have gone.
I'm gonna be honest with you, and.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
It will be looks like a holding call I think
against Spring Valley, and that will end the first quarter.
So we'll have Spring Valley's next drive right after these messages.
But quarter of the way through it, it's Spring Valley
sixteen Collfax eight. You're on your home for high school football.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
Welcome back, everybody, getting ready for the second quarter of
play here between Colefax and Spring Valley. You're listening to
high school football on Moose Country one O six point
seven FM iHeartRadio, and my name is Noah Schwartz, alongside
as always my friend and colleague Dan Zounds. Of course,
Colefax legend Dan Sounds. They've got his number fifty six
(37:20):
hanging in the rafters here.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
I don't know about that. Well, no one's wearing it tonight.
So it's somewhere.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Maybe you know Raptors equipment shed, same difference.
Speaker 5 (37:32):
It's somewhere. Okay, it's somewhere. It's not on the field.
We'll leave it at that.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Colefax, well, uh, get back on the field, as will
Spring Valley. As Spring Valley ready to take over here
for another drive. They lead by eight and so we've
seen three touchdowns and three successful two point conversions here,
but back down, backed up, inside their own territory at
(37:57):
their own fourteen is Spring Valley and that is where
they'll take over.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
Yeah, and this is probably the worst starting field position
for really either team to start off the night.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
Here Hurston ten from the fourteen is Winger goes under center.
Looks like Turner is the loan setback for Spring Valley. Oh,
it's a pitch to It's a fake handoff to Schmidt
who was running a pitch and the real ball carrier,
who I'm assuming must have been Turner, ran up the
middle for a minimal game.
Speaker 4 (38:27):
Yeah, and that was James Wall that seemed to make
the real big pressure inside that really stuffed it up.
The six foot four two and seventy pound defensive lineman
that is an absolute unit you have to go against
out there. He can definitely clog up some gaps out
there and really slow down any kind of consistency. You
gotta really run away from that guy.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
Always fun at this level to see those two way players.
Game of one for Spring Valley makes it second to
nine here as Winger goes under center. Two wide receivers
both on the near side for the Cardinals. With the
hand off it goes to Turner. Turner running near side
makes a man miss flag flies, but Turner stays on
his feet to the nineteen, almost to the twenty, and
(39:08):
it takes a sea of red jerseys to take him down.
But we'll have to check on that yellow handkerchief.
Speaker 5 (39:14):
Yeah, I think this might be going back.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
Yeah, anytime you see a flag fly on a play
like that, and indeed it will.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
Somebody was in the way. I didn't see the signal,
but it does go against Spring Valley.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
The defensive end looked like he got caught up with
one of the tackles pulling or one of the guards
pulling or tackles coming on that side. I didn't really
see because there was a complete mishmash of players that
had had fallen down out.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
There, but looked like it had.
Speaker 4 (39:38):
Someone had gotten grabbed and fell down, which allowed Astro
turn to.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
Have a wide hole to run through.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
So it is a big loss on the penalty for
Spring Valley. Okay, so they're backed up to about their
own eight yard line as it will be second and
second in a lot will go with wingers in the shotgun.
It's an MP set five wide receiver in the spread
formation for Spring Valley. A little dump off. That one
(40:03):
is complete to Blake Bangston. Bangston is tackled and brought down.
Looks like behind the line as it's a big play
for the Colfax defense.
Speaker 4 (40:17):
Yeah, and it almost looked like the ball may have
came out a second after he'd gone down. So this
Colefax team, like I had said, that defense comes out firing.
But if you're Spring Valley here, you gotta find that
consistency that you.
Speaker 5 (40:28):
Just had earlier in this earlier in your last two
scoring drives, because now they just keep getting backed up
and backed up.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
So it will be uh ten minutes and twenty seconds
left to go in the first half, and they back
them up further. They're calling it third and nineteen on
the PA system here, as Winger will go under center,
a wide receiver on the near side this time a
handoff looks like Turner and Turner. It's up past the
ten to about the twelve, but not much more than that.
(40:55):
They'll bring up fourth and still very long and probably
a punt situation here for Spring Valley.
Speaker 4 (41:01):
I had, if I had to guess, it'd be punt situation.
But I mean, we saw against Boysville they were this
is a different team from Boysville. But Boysfvill went for
it on fourth and almost forty one that one play,
So I'm just not surprised by anything that happens here
on fourth down.
Speaker 2 (41:16):
Goes to show you never can tell fourth and they're
calling it eleven on the scoreboard. As looks like Winger
is back to punt, high snap and punting from just
about inside his own five. He gets that one away
fielded inside the forty five.
Speaker 3 (41:32):
Looks like that's Parshak and he gets.
Speaker 2 (41:36):
Up to about the thirty five yard line before he's
taken down. It'll be a short field here for Colefax.
They're down by eight points. They've got a chance to
tie it here in about the middle of the second quarter.
Speaker 4 (41:47):
Yeah, and if you're Coalfax, you have to capitalize here
being at the thirty five. I know this Spring Valley
team is really caught onto the run game, but you
have to find a way to find your consistency and
rhythm back out there as they're kind of slowing it down.
Looks like there's Ring Valley player injured on that far sideline.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
Looks like it, So we will step aside here. Sixteen
to eight Spring Valley over Colefax nine to twenty one left.
Actually looks like the injured players able. The injured Cardinal,
I should say, is able to make his way to
his feet, So we'll.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
Keep it here as.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
Colefax gets ready to take over a short field here,
of course, Danny played for this team.
Speaker 3 (42:23):
How do you capitalize?
Speaker 4 (42:25):
I think you just go back to what has been
working for you, trying to find those outside runs. They
kind of went away from the outside runs a bit.
They had one with Wall that looked like it could
maybe have cut the yardage down to a five yard
six yard game, but he really he took a bit
of a wide angle on that one and lost a
yard or two. Now you have to come back out
here and find your rhythm again.
Speaker 5 (42:47):
Maybe get a play action pass out there.
Speaker 4 (42:49):
Peterson hasn't really felt like he's been comfortable in the pocket,
so maybe a drop back just wouldn't be the right answer.
Speaker 3 (42:55):
Here.
Speaker 5 (42:56):
Find something on that far left side that's wide open.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
I be first and ten from the spring Valley, thirty
five here for Colefax, and it looks like it's a
shotgun look for Peterson and company. A couple of wide
receivers toward the far sideline flags fly at the snap,
but it looks like a handoff toward Wall and Wall
he's lucky if he got back to the line, but
we'll have to check on the flags. They're calling it
(43:22):
no old game, but it is a false start on
the offense. I'm surprised that they let that play go
if it was a false start.
Speaker 3 (43:29):
I was too.
Speaker 4 (43:30):
Usually they'll usually they'll call that thing dead almost immediately,
especially in high school.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
Oh, it is a ten yard loss. That does back
up the vikings a little bit more as that will
be that'll Oh, they're gonna decline it and make it
second and ten. Here ball stays right at the thirty
five yard line as some confident. Yeah, that's some confidence
on this Spring Valley defense.
Speaker 4 (43:55):
Yeah, and especially with Astroturn in that middle of the field.
He's been flying around hitting really make a lot of
the stops here against Wall.
Speaker 5 (44:02):
Who is really who took.
Speaker 4 (44:03):
Off in that first quarter, but hasn't really found that
seam hasn't found that same success that he did earlier.
Speaker 2 (44:09):
Now, second and sent after the false start was declined,
here is it will be Peterson under center and I
formation look here for Colefax two wide receivers. Two running
backs here for the Vikings, this time a pitch on
the near side once again as Jacob Wall, Wall flowing
forward up past the thirty to about the twenty eight
before he's taken down. Looks like Schmid was in on
(44:31):
the tackle. Ah, but that's a good game. Makes it
third and manageable here for Colefax.
Speaker 4 (44:36):
And that's exactly what you needed. You had a couple
of drives where you really couldn't get anything going, and
now suddenly third and manageable.
Speaker 5 (44:43):
Here you have a lot of plays that you can
go with.
Speaker 4 (44:46):
This could be a really dynamic team. There's a lot
of weapons on here that they haven't even used yet
that we've seen a bit of in that boysful game.
Speaker 2 (44:53):
Third and three ball on the Spring Valley twenty eight
here for Colefax. They look great on that opening drive,
struggled since then offensively. Let's see if they can extend
this one. Is Peterson under center again? Still an I formation. Look,
we've seen both teams go to it. It's a handoff
there to Wall and I don't think he got there.
Maybe a gain of one or two depending on where
(45:14):
they spot him.
Speaker 5 (45:16):
Oh, it's gonna be close. Actually they brought it up
a little bit more.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
It will be fourth and I'd call that inches. I
think they might call that one. With eight to twelve
and counting left to go here in the first half,
we'll be fourth and one and Colefax is gonna go
for it. And you've got a running back like Jacob
Wall why.
Speaker 4 (45:34):
Not, especially if Grant paul is blocking in that backfield.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
Peterson under center again, Wall ready in the backfield is
no insteatic does go to Grant Paulis and Paulus runs
into the line and goes backwards.
Speaker 5 (45:52):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (45:53):
So a failed fourth down conversion there for Colefax. They
don't get it and spring Valley will take over.
Speaker 4 (46:02):
I think it was a good design there, But honestly,
if they would have gone that pitch rout, I think
they had more of a chance of getting that first
down than when they handed it off because they were
all expecting that run going straight up the middle.
Speaker 5 (46:13):
I mean, there was completely stone walled.
Speaker 2 (46:16):
I think it was a good play call, but there
just wasn't anything there. No hole certainly as taking over
with seven forty eight left to go in the second
quarter will be spring Valley. Winger leads the Cardinals back
out there, he's under center, one back in the backfield.
That looks like Turner Schmidt goes in motion. It looks
like that'll be a keeper for Winger and Winger up
(46:39):
to about the thirty four yard line before he's stopped.
It'll be a gain of about four second down.
Speaker 4 (46:46):
Six hundred and twenty three passing yards on the season.
How are Mason Winger also has fifty four yards on
the ground.
Speaker 5 (46:51):
He can be a bit mobile out there.
Speaker 4 (46:52):
Something Colfax has to watch out for. As the Spring
Valley team's gonna find any kind of way to get
this win out.
Speaker 2 (46:58):
It'll be a gain of six make gets second and
four seven to nineteen and counting left to go here
in this second quarter, And of course Spring Valley beating
Colefax on the road here by a score of.
Speaker 3 (47:11):
Sixteen to eight. Got all our bases covered there, I think.
Speaker 2 (47:16):
So Spring Valley comes to the line, it's Winger under
center this time one back in the backfield. It's Turner again.
Turner gets the carrier run into his left. He's got
the first down in more fifty nearly to the forty five.
He has spun out of bounds by three Red jerseys,
but it is still a big first down for Spring Valley, and.
Speaker 4 (47:35):
That edge just has been a problem for them. Whether
it's Sam Schmidt going off for an almost fifty plus
yard run or if it's Asher Turner running on that
outside edge, they just really need to find a way
to close down that wide hole. They're trying to get
their offensive skill players in as much space as possible
to really let them run free against his Colfax defenders,
(47:56):
who the secondary not as strong as it once was,
but has really showed up tonight.
Speaker 2 (48:02):
It's working here for Spring Valley there on the positive
end of midfield will be first and ten from the
Colefax forty eight. The well handoff goes to Turner again.
Turner plowing up the middle breaks threes up to about
the forty. Looks like it'll be a gain of nine
on first down there for Asher Turner, and.
Speaker 4 (48:20):
We got a hobbled Colfax defender off the field. That's
Grant Cook, the six foot two to forty five defensive
lineman and offensive lineman.
Speaker 5 (48:27):
That's a hard thing to see out there.
Speaker 4 (48:29):
He's been pretty good for this Colfax defense as well
as offense throughout much of the season.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
But it is a gain of nine second and one,
so you hate to see that. But thankfully he's able
to make it to the sideline under his own steam
second in one and this really opens up the playbook
here for Spring Valley. A lot of options here. His
winger goes under center, three backs in the backfield, no
wide receivers for Spring Valley. It'll be a handoff this
(48:56):
time it does go to Bankston. Bankston first down and
much more. Twenty five twenty to the fifteen.
Speaker 3 (49:02):
Nearly got away.
Speaker 2 (49:04):
He had one man to beat, but Blake Bankston showing hey,
you know, Schmidt and Turner get the getting the lion
share of the carries.
Speaker 3 (49:11):
He can do it too.
Speaker 4 (49:12):
Yeah, and banks And it looked like he got injured
a little bit ago, but he's obviously out there and
he doesn't look like he's injured right now. He's running
wild and just a great job by the offensive line
to find the blocking and find their assignments and also
get that opening for Bankston to get that massive first
down for Spring Valley.
Speaker 2 (49:29):
Healthy run there for Spring Valley. We've seen both of
these teams moving the ball primarily on the ground. We've
seen Spring Valley throw it a lot in other games
this year, So that'll be something to keep an eye
on if and when they uncork Winger's arm, because we
know that he can throw the ball.
Speaker 3 (49:46):
Oh yeah, it'll be.
Speaker 2 (49:47):
First and ten ball right at the sixteen yard line
of Spring Valley challenging handoff goes to Turner, who has
met at the lion, stays out feat but makes no headways.
Speaker 3 (49:58):
It'll be no gain if he's lucky.
Speaker 4 (50:00):
Yeah, that was a big red wave if I've ever
seen one. That Colefax defensive line got that initial pressure
number sixty three again.
Speaker 3 (50:07):
We're going to call his name a bit.
Speaker 4 (50:09):
James Wall, the six foot four defensive lineman, absolutely doing
it again right in the gap.
Speaker 2 (50:16):
So it will be now second and ten, four fifty
seven left to go here in the second half. Spring
Valley looking to extend their eight point lead. Here in
the second quarter, second and ten from the sixteen, Winger
under center, it's time. It's a toss to Turner on
near side. Excuse me, I no, it is Turner and
Turner thought about throwing that ball it looked like, but
(50:39):
instead decides to run it gets up to about the
fifteen before he's out of bounds.
Speaker 4 (50:44):
And That was definitely a trick play there, but Colefax
great job recognizing that defensively because there was nowhere to
throw that football if they completely had three red defenders
right downfield, and that's gonna be a time out for
the ref.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
Looks like we will have a time now.
Speaker 2 (51:00):
It looks like there's an injured player down towards that
sideline for Coalfax, So it looks like we are going
to take a moment here. Four thirty nine left to go.
It will be third and nine once we get back going.
Speaker 4 (51:18):
I can't catch a number on that one, but that
might be Cook again. He came back into the game.
Speaker 3 (51:27):
So we wait to get ready to go.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
It looks like both teams are going to take a
knee here. We'll step aside for thirty seconds. Here it
is sixteen to eight Spring Valley over Colefax on your
home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (51:44):
This is Friday night lights on Moose Country one oh
six point seven.
Speaker 14 (51:48):

It's your home for high school football Moose Country one
six point seven.
Speaker 2 (52:24):
Looks like it was Wall who was shaken up, but
looks like he is up.
Speaker 4 (52:30):
And moving again and he's hoping to see him back
into the game. But right now he's just kind of
got his head down, just trying to shake off whatever
hit had gotten landed on him.
Speaker 5 (52:39):
But hell, we'll.
Speaker 4 (52:40):
Check on him throughout this game. As the defense lines
back up out there.
Speaker 2 (52:43):
It would be a tough loss here for Colefax third
and nine for Spring Valley from the Colefax fifteen, it
will be a handoff to uh Asher Turner. Turner on
the far side, but he's taken down from behind after
a gain of just a couple not nearly to that
line line. The gain as that will bring up fourth
down and I think this will be time for the
(53:04):
field goal units.
Speaker 4 (53:05):
And Grant Cook didn't make it out there because he
made that tackle. He absolutely pulled him down by that
jersey and did not let him run free. That was
the main issue with the running or the run defense
for this Colfax team was they were just not holding
on to the player got him that time and great
job on only a couple of yard game.
Speaker 2 (53:22):
Looks like it will be fourth and seven, maybe six.
As four minutes to go and counting left to go,
it will be a field goal attempt to snap his down.
He hold is up good, the kick is up and
through as Isaac Canning knocks that one through, and that'll
make this a nineteen to eight ball game. Three point
fifty two left to go and we'll step aside here
(53:44):
on your home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (53:46):
This is Friday night lights on Moose Country one oh
six point seven.
Speaker 15 (53:51):
Let's use a football metaphor in your home. You're the quarterback, now,
who would you want in your front line?
Speaker 8 (53:57):
Past fault? No, the fearsome four.
Speaker 15 (54:00):
Brain, hail wind and snow and blow right, throw an
aft ball line for real protection. You want be Yorks

B Yorks Frand Metal Roofing will keep you protected with

Speaker 8 (54:18):
Three seven twenty six seventy eight.
Speaker 1 (54:22):
It's your home for high school football Moose Country one
oh six point seven.
Speaker 3 (54:27):
Welcome back, everybody is.
Speaker 2 (54:28):
Spring Valley ends their drive with a field goal, taking
a nineteen to eight lead here over Colefax on the road, uh,
with three point fifty two left to go, No, Schwartz
and dan Zon's alongside. You're right here on Moose Country
one O six seven at iHeartRadio. Okay, so we'll get
ready for a kickoff here Colefax of course coming into
(54:51):
this game oh to eight over since your last.
Speaker 3 (54:54):
Season in twenty nineteen.
Speaker 2 (54:55):
Then meanwhile, Spring Valley at five hundred, trying to end
the season above five hundred. But it has been a close,
competitive game between these two teams.
Speaker 4 (55:04):
And they'll need this win if they want to have
any chance of making it to the playoffs this season.
They're still right there on that precipice of maybe making
it over the edge. But we'll see what selection Saturday has.
Speaker 2 (55:13):
To come Fanning, who just nailed the field goal, ready
to kick it away from left to right. That ball
is in the air field at about a ten. Looks
like that is York here, and York's got some open field.
But he will be taken down at about his own
twenty nine yard line as we get ready to go,
and it'll be another offensive drive here for the coal
(55:35):
FAXX biker.
Speaker 5 (55:36):
Yeah, and to your point there, it looked like he
had some open field if he would.
Speaker 4 (55:39):
Have bounced that out a little bit more, just not
really the right angles being taken by some of these
skill players. That comes with experience, and of course a
lot of these Kulbax teams, especially their skill players, are
a little bit inexperienced, whether their sophomores are freshmen getting
their chance out there.
Speaker 2 (55:52):
What they lack in numbers they make up for in
hard here is they'll have it first and ten at
their own twenty seven three forty five left to go
here in the first half. Their quarterback Austin Peterson will
be under center. It's an I formation look here for
the Colefax Vikings. On first down, it will be a
pitch in That ball is handed to Mason Smith, who
(56:16):
running back. Looks like a nearly a fumble at the
end of that play.
Speaker 3 (56:23):
Is actually.
Speaker 2 (56:27):
Fans are asking for a face mask. It was not Smith,
it was.
Speaker 3 (56:30):
Ethan Schindler there running back on that carry. But looks
like that will be a gain of about four second down.
Speaker 4 (56:39):
Yeah, and I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm not
a ref or anything like that. And this isn't even
biased that he had a finger or two on that
face mass dragging.
Speaker 5 (56:46):
Him down, so that should have been a penalty.
Speaker 4 (56:47):
But whatever you can do, that's still a five yard
game for cole Fax to really keep this drive alive.
Speaker 2 (56:52):
That's a tough one here, but still five yards for Colefax.
Is they look to get back in this game here
second in three minutes left to go, and it looks
like that's a false start. Whistles in a flag before
the snap and.
Speaker 3 (57:08):
Paul is shaking his head there, pretty evident.
Speaker 4 (57:11):
Yeah, Paul's looked like he was gonna try and move
a little bit early, and that's not the greatest what
you want to see from one.
Speaker 5 (57:17):
Of your seniors on this team.
Speaker 2 (57:18):
Yeah, it looked like one of the offensive linemen might
have jumped to I saw one of them, you know,
smack his own helmet and just a little.
Speaker 4 (57:25):
Bit out of sorts trying to really score something here
in the final three minutes.
Speaker 2 (57:29):
I'm sure cole Fax feels the pressure trying to avoid
a winless season, but the penalty makes it second and
ten after the loss of five Here for the Vikings,
Peterson will be under center to wide receivers and two
running backs for Colefax as this time it is handed.
Looks like that was to Paulus and Paulus maybe two
(57:50):
probably less.
Speaker 4 (57:52):
Yeah, I think there might give him maybe a yard
here actually, so a little bit less than that, but
just not a lot of blocking for Pauli's out there. Now,
you got third and ten and only two twenty six
to go. You could run this clock down and hopefully
play the defensive game. Otherwise you gotta take a chance
at maybe something towards that boundary line.
Speaker 2 (58:09):
Well, we've seen spring Valley air out the ball not
a lot this season, but often we have not seen
that from Colfax. But it will be a shotgun look
on third and ten here for the Vikings. Four wide
receivers as back to pass as de Mo their other
quarterback into the game as he was hit as he
throws that one flutters incomplete looking toward the near sideline.
(58:33):
But it will be fourth to ten and a punt
situation here for the Colfax Vikings.
Speaker 4 (58:37):
Yeah, and that was just Turner coming straight through that
offensive line. I didn't I didn't think anyone even got
a hand on him. He just came almost unblocked. And
that's not the guy you want going straight clean through
because he'll land a massive hit on your quarterback, and
especially a young one like Grant Demo. You don't want
to get roughed up early on.
Speaker 2 (58:55):
Clock stopped right at two minutes in one second left
to go here in the half will be a punk situation,
but not before we get a time out from cool
Facts there first of that half. So we'll step aside
here two oh one left to go on the half
as it is Spring Valley leading nineteen to eight on
your home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (59:14):
This is Friday night lights on Moose Country one oh
six point seven.

Speaker 1 (59:50):
It's your home for high school football Moose Country one
o six point seven.
Speaker 2 (59:55):
Welcome back, everybody, two oh one left to go here
in the second quarter, No Schwortz. Dan Zon's alongside you
here as it is Spring Valley leading Coalfax by a
score of nineteen to eight. The Vikings mascot here trying
to rile up the crowd. He was doing this the
hand thing. For those of you at home, Dan, what's
your mascot's name?
Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
He doesn't really have a name. He's just been always
known as the Colfax Viking.
Speaker 5 (01:00:21):
That's quite that's quite literally the lore of that so far.
I mean, it's been a bunch of different it's mainly
the students that keep the name for it.
Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
Really.
Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
There will be a punt situation here on fourth and
Long for Coalfax and that one away cleanly. It's a
line drive, bounces about the forty five, takes a high bounce.
Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
Schmid deals with it.
Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
He's at the forty five to fifty, up to the
forty five to the forty on the far sideline, out
of bounds, nearly to the thirty five. I think they'll
call it about the thirty seven. But Sam Schmidt showing
his skills as a return man and it will be
good starting field position once again for these Spring Valley Cardinals.
Speaker 4 (01:00:59):
He is so speedy and so shifty out there is
so fun to watch. I mean that time he kind
of let delay a little bit, it'll almost looked like
he was gonna just kind of wave it as like
a fair catch. And I think that's what tripped up
the Kolfax defenders a bit because they kind of slowed
down to the ball. But then he just went right
at it with full speed ahead and it took the
Colfax defense completely off guard. Great job there for Schmid
(01:01:21):
as he sets up the Spring Valley offense on a
short field.
Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
Short field again for Spring Valley. We'll see if they
can capitalize on it. As it is first in sent
here from the Colfax thirty seven. As where we'll be
in the shotgun. Four wide receivers, all toward the near side,
one man all alone on the far side. Whinger back
to pass, reaches the end of his drop. Heaves a
deep down field for Turner, but he could not come
(01:01:47):
up with that one. As that one goes incomplete inside
the five.
Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
Turner couldn't get there. Second down.
Speaker 5 (01:01:54):
Yeah, when you're almost had him there.
Speaker 4 (01:01:56):
It looked like he it looked like it was just
right at his hands, but no, a little bit too
far beyond.
Speaker 3 (01:02:01):
Turner couldn't get to it.
Speaker 4 (01:02:03):
That's gonna bring up a second down and ten and
Colfax's getting a little bit of pressure in that backfield.
Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
Now the clock becomes an issue here one forty three left,
and uh, I'm sure spring Valley not thinking about leaving
too much time on the clock here for Colefax, even
with that two score lead, of course, nineteen to eight
is it will be a shotgun. Look for Winger again,
Turner beside him in the backfield. Three wide receivers, two
on the near side, but they do hand it to Turner.
(01:02:29):
Turner up to the thirty keeps moving to about the
twenty six yard line, before he's taken down. That will
be a first down here for Spring Valley as Turner
moves the chains.
Speaker 4 (01:02:41):
Yeah, and trying to keep the clock moving too, obviously,
like what you said earlier, they're trying to not leave
too much time for Colfax to get back. Even with
their offensive struggles since their opening drive, but they've had
some highlights here and there of showing that they can
have a consistent offense. You can't let them get too
much time on the clock though.
Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
Inside of ninety seconds to go on the half, it'll
be first and ten. It's the ball right at the
twenty six and whistles ahead of the snap. Weyer completes
the pass, but it doesn't count. That'll be a false
start on the offense here for Spring Valley, and that'll
move him back five.
Speaker 4 (01:03:12):
And that's a shame too, because that looked like it
could have gone some distance there. There was quite a
bit of green and if he makes one move and
can get outside of that corner.
Speaker 5 (01:03:22):
He could be gone for a touchdown there.
Speaker 4 (01:03:24):
But now instead they back it up about five extra
yards and it's the first and fifteen.
Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
First and fifteen here for the Cardinals. We've seen them
break off two or three big plays here in this ballgame,
so certainly not passed him here the late going of
the first half, seventy seconds and counting left to go
here in the second quarter, as Winger will hand the
ball at Turner again nearly tripped up, stays on his
feet back to the twenty five to the twenty four
(01:03:50):
as he passes the original line of scrimmage, gain of
about six or seven that time.
Speaker 5 (01:03:56):
Now they're going to take a time out.
Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
It will be a timeout for spring Valley here with
fifty two seconds left. We'll keep it here as they
stop the clock and Dan, you know it will be
second and eight here once they resume play here. A
lot of options on this playbook. What are you going with?
Speaker 5 (01:04:15):
Honestly, I like what they did before.
Speaker 4 (01:04:17):
I like the screen pass that they had to the
wide receiver, But now obviously you can't really do that again.
They start to see it, they've seen it, They're gonna
recognize it before. This is a smart defense. What I'd
like to see them do is more of those boundary passes,
such as rolling Winger out and getting someone open in
the field. They've been really able to pull those running
backs and get them quite open. The linebackers haven't really
(01:04:38):
been following along with them, so I think that that
could be another good play for them to run. Otherwise,
anything towards that outside zone you gotta watch out because
the corners, even though Colfax hasn't had the best defense
in the dun Saint Croix, they have eight interceptions on
the season. That's nothing to turn your nose at, as
Spring Valley only has three.
Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
Certainly got a careful with this football is especially as
it is just a two score lead here for Colefax
eleven point lead. Excuse me for Spring Valley, I should
say two red teams.
Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
You know, it gets a little confusing the season. But
we're out of that time out. We're back ready to go.
Speaker 2 (01:05:18):
Here as winger leads the Cardinals back onto the field,
it to be second and eight. After that big carry
for Turner on first down, I'll mean an I formation.
Look once again for Spring Valley. Here fifty two seconds
left to play. It's a handoff to Schmidt and he's
met in the backfield going backwards as in on that
tackle it was Jaden Morgan for Colefax. And now that
(01:05:42):
clock looks like it stopped because it looks like spring
Valley takes another time out, but that really backs him up.
Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
It will be third.
Speaker 5 (01:05:51):
And twelve then, yeah, I mean that was exactly what
you wanted at for Colefax on the defense there, they
were ready for any kind of a run.
Speaker 4 (01:05:58):
They were ready to send some people out winger to
not let him have an empty pocket or a clean pocket,
because when he gets that time, you and I both
know he can find those completions down there, and he
has found some wide open people in the past that
didn't even look wide open.
Speaker 5 (01:06:12):
He just threw them wide open. But if you're Colfax,
now you got to watch out for any kind of trickery.
Speaker 3 (01:06:17):
If they tried doing.
Speaker 4 (01:06:18):
Something with Asher Turner on the side, I don't see
them doing that again, especially when Colfax was able to
kind of figure that out. But now you got a
chance here to get that first down, But you still
are a little bit in range of a field goal here.
It could still be fourth down territory. But fourth and
twelve is a hard thing to kick up, even with
how well your offense has been running.
Speaker 3 (01:06:37):
I'm sure the clock playing a factor.
Speaker 2 (01:06:39):
Just forty three seconds separating these two teams from halftime Hey,
you got the sense that Colefax needed a play. And
who knows how a four yard loss will serve them,
but that might have been a play that they needed.
Here is it will be third and twelve and a
big moment here for both of these two teams. In
(01:07:00):
the first half. His winger will be in the shotgun.
Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
Two wide receivers far side, one man all alone.
Speaker 2 (01:07:07):
Matt's Hannick on the near side. For Spring Valley winger throws.
It is complete all we dropped it. Turner was not
sure handed on a little swing pass.
Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
He had the space.
Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
Just fumble that one through the bread basket and it
will be fourth down.
Speaker 4 (01:07:23):
By the way, that was a first down. No one
was catching him out on that edge. If he comes
down with that football, that's an easy first down for him.
There was quite literally maybe two players back there that
would have stopped him, and he's a hard guy to
take down in an open field. That is a really
bad misqueue for the Spring Valley offense.
Speaker 3 (01:07:39):
And now you got to kick a field goal.
Speaker 2 (01:07:41):
I agree is they send him canning out there. The
ball will be placed at the thirty five yard line,
so it'll be just about a forty five yard attempt
here for Spring Valley on fourth and twelve. He kicked
me is Popp, but that one does not have the
distance and it is also well wide left, and so
we'll keep it here with thirty four seconds left. This
(01:08:01):
remains a nineteen to eight football game.
Speaker 3 (01:08:04):
Going back to that drop for Turner.
Speaker 2 (01:08:06):
Of course, he has really carried this Spring Valley team
in the games that we've seen this season. You mentioned
it looked like he had the first down. I agree
with you, but it looked like he just got his
eyes upfield just a little bit too soon, took his
eye off that football, and for that reason, it remains
a two score game.
Speaker 4 (01:08:25):
And that's the thing with when you're a receiver, they
always teach you to get that ball down and then
look up field, not look up field as you're trying
to catch that ball, because that's when those easy drops happen,
and that's exactly what happened for Turner.
Speaker 2 (01:08:36):
So cole Fax will take over thirty four seconds left
to go, as it looks like it's demo and at
quarterback throwing over the middle incomplete, wanted axton call that
will be incomplete, thirty seconds left to go, second and
set that.
Speaker 4 (01:08:51):
Looked like a could have been close to a late
hit there at the end there on Demo, but nothing
called letting them play out here. Kind of like that
with a high school teams. But Damal really had his
chance there. They had Wetland pretty open, but just a
little too high. But that pressure from Spring Valley really
cooked up the middle.
Speaker 2 (01:09:09):
Yeah, really forcing Demo to get that ball out of
his hands, maybe a little quicker than he had liked
as Uh, the incompletion makes it second and ten. Looks
like we're going to have a time out here with
thirty seconds left, and uh, well.
Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
Let's send it to a break here.
Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
We'll be right back after this one here on your
home for high school football.

Dot Northtown has your back, It's your home for high
school football Moose Country one oh six point seven.
Speaker 3 (01:10:09):
Welcome back.
Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
Thirty second separatus between now and halftime, as it will
be second and ten here for Colfax. They trail by
eleven points to these Spring Valley Cardinals here, but they've
got the ball at their own twenty yards eighty yards
away from a score. But you know, I'm sure they'd
like to make something happen before the intermission at.
Speaker 4 (01:10:32):
The half absolutely here and while most would give him
a try and run out this clock, they want to
go for it.
Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
Looks like it's Demo back in at quarterback. He is
leveled as he throws in that one on a.
Speaker 3 (01:10:44):
Little swing pass.
Speaker 2 (01:10:45):
Looks like it was toward Peterson is incomplete and that
will stop the clock. Twenty seven point four seconds left
to go, third and ten and de mo Man he's been.
Speaker 5 (01:10:57):
Taking some tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:10:58):
Whenever he's been coming in, he's been absolutely getting leveled.
Speaker 2 (01:11:01):
Ouch that was that was a heavy hit. But you know,
they say take a hit to make a play. The
most standing back and ready. He's in the shotgun. Four
wide receivers here for Colfax on third and ten throwing.
Speaker 3 (01:11:14):
Over the middle intercepted case.
Speaker 2 (01:11:19):
Looks like that one was Wyatt Smith on the catch
and a great pick there is Well, it did kind
of look like Demo threw that ball right to him.
Speaker 4 (01:11:30):
That quite literally was right to him. I mean, that
couldn't have been any more to him there. And this
is what happens when you have a young quarterback. He
hasn't been in these kind of pressure situations.
Speaker 5 (01:11:40):
When you're down in distance.
Speaker 4 (01:11:41):
Austin Peterson not really the best throwing the football out there.
Three and thirteen on a touchdown to interception ratio.
Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
But now you got.
Speaker 4 (01:11:50):
Spring Valley back out there and they want a touchdown.
Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
Twenty two and a half seconds left. Of course, in football,
you don't really count the half as wingers.
Speaker 3 (01:11:58):
In the shotgun.
Speaker 2 (01:11:58):
They send Schmidt in most on first and ten, fake
jet sweep winger looking deep that is.
Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
Caught, no off the heads.
Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
Brady Lamb had himself a touchdown instead, it's an incompletion
fifteen seconds remain. There is a penalty on the planet.
Looks like it goes against Spring Valley, and that adds
insult to injury.
Speaker 4 (01:12:21):
That is, that's a second time now these Spring Valley
players have not been able to get in a wide
open pass. It feels like the nerves are really getting
to them here with only fifteen seconds to go, and
I mean, that couldn't have been put any better. Brady Lamb,
he had a touchdown pass earlier to him and just
couldn't haul in this one.
Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
On the long drive.
Speaker 2 (01:12:40):
Ball will be placed at the forty one yard line
of Colfax here for Spring Valley. His winger runs in
with the play fifteen seconds left, it'll be first and
twenty and so once again Spring Valley leading cole facts
nineteen to eight. Here late second quarter, winger in the shotgun.
Three wide receivers here was two on the far side.
(01:13:02):
Where's gonna take off? He's up past the thirty, he
breaks three twenty and he's out of bounds as they
bring him down inside the twenty to about the seventeen
Mason wingers saw yet green Grass he took off and
that makes this one real interesting. Seven seconds left to
play before halftime.
Speaker 4 (01:13:22):
And that's what I'm talking about right there, that's the
kind of mobility winger has as another time out for
Spring Valley.
Speaker 3 (01:13:29):
Timeout for Spring.
Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
They are going to mark this ball right at the
nineteen yard line, just seven seconds left to play. Is
this where you bring out your field goal unit or
do you try and run another play here?
Speaker 4 (01:13:40):
I don't think it's I don't think it would be
wise to run another play here because if you get
tackled in the open field, I don't believe they have
another time out left here.
Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
If I'm counting right, they're not up on the scoreboard,
but I'm pretty sure that's three.
Speaker 4 (01:13:51):
I'm almost certain that's three because they called a couple
in that previous drive to really slow down the game.
With forty three seconds left, now seven seconds left, it
almost feels like this that was that was a play
to get yourself into field goal range there, because most
teams wouldn't run on a fourteenth where they were on
the field with how much time they have left now fullfacs.
Speaker 5 (01:14:12):
I like what they did on their last field goal.
Speaker 4 (01:14:13):
Possession where they almost had another block there. Completely pushed
their defensive line up and it completely overwhelmed that Spring
Valley offensive line, almost resulting in that field goal block.
Speaker 5 (01:14:26):
Instead, it was a miss. The far left.
Speaker 4 (01:14:28):
It's gonna be interesting to see if they go for
this again. If they go for the field goal here,
looks like.
Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
It will be uh looks like they're going to run
a play here.
Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
His wingers out there.
Speaker 2 (01:14:38):
He will be under centers Spring Valley, not trotting Cannon
out out there after that miss last time, I formation
looked with seven seconds left here, this will be a
fake handoff wingers got time.
Speaker 3 (01:14:50):
Heaves it up far side.
Speaker 2 (01:14:52):
Oh at one out of bounds and nearly incomplete.
Speaker 3 (01:14:58):
It was in complete. Excuse me I should say?
Speaker 2 (01:15:01):
Is it looked like Schmid trying to haul that one
in on the far sideline. They've got six tenths of
a second left on the scoreboard.
Speaker 3 (01:15:09):
And this is what I'm talking about.
Speaker 4 (01:15:10):
They were lucky to have that ball go out of
bounds when they did there, because they could have ended
this whole half with no points even though they're in
field goal.
Speaker 3 (01:15:18):
Range right now.
Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
I mean, maybe they got away with one here is
it looks like that's Canning again. Canning swings the right leg,
that one is high and this time he splits the uprights,
and that will.
Speaker 3 (01:15:33):
Make this a twenty two to eight lead.
Speaker 2 (01:15:36):
Here for Spring Valley as time expires here in the
first half, now, Dan, an interesting game. We saw touchdowns
on the first two drives. Is these two teams traded
eight points back and forth with each other, a couple
of stops in there. What are your big takeaways here
after the first two quarters?
Speaker 5 (01:15:55):
I mean Colfax in that first quarter, they.
Speaker 4 (01:15:58):
Got that first touch down and really haven't found their
way back towards that end zone.
Speaker 3 (01:16:02):
They got a great field, great field.
Speaker 4 (01:16:05):
Position when they were at the thirty five yard line,
but just could not find any kind of space out there.
The offensive lines not really able to keep up with
the Spring Valley defensive line, and losing Jacob wall Is
just it's a really rough thing to see out there
because he's been having such a great season for this team.
Speaker 5 (01:16:21):
Has been the bell cow back.
Speaker 4 (01:16:22):
And there's another Kolfax defender actually walking off.
Speaker 3 (01:16:24):
The field within injury.
Speaker 4 (01:16:26):
That's Max Vodnik, or not Max Vodnik, I'm sorry, that's
actually number three two, Jaden Morgan, who had a good
stop to almost force another to have a drive ending tackle.
There we go, if I can get it out of
my mouth. But for Colefax, that defense, this is what
I was talking about they've really been able to slow
down that run by Asher Turner. Despite that first quarter
(01:16:47):
where they gave up sixteen straight points, it's only been
two field goals after that, almost shutting them out completely
in that second quarter. Just a good job by them
to really find their rhythm on the defensive end. But
then on the offensive event, you've got to find a
way to get your skill players out in open space,
and if you're the skill players, you've got to come
down with those easy catches. We've seen it on both
sides of the ball for Spring Valley as well as Colfax.
(01:17:09):
You have to hang on to that ball because this
is now. This is a game for Colfax to break
a massive losing streak, but for Spring Valley, this could
be your chance to make it to the playoffs. You
really we have to wait for Saturday selection or Selection
Saturday of course, which is gonna be on WQW eighteen
News at eight am.
Speaker 5 (01:17:28):
But you still have.
Speaker 4 (01:17:30):
To get that last win. You can't go four and
five and expect to make it in five and four
is really gonna be that benchmark for you to take
it over the top. So it's gonna be interesting to
see how Spring Valley comes out of this halftime break.
Speaker 3 (01:17:43):
Will it certainly will be.
Speaker 2 (01:17:44):
We've got plenty to talk about here at the halftime show,
as we'll take a look at this one. Whether Spring
Valley can sneak into that playoff picture, and you know,
whether Coldbacks can maybe come back and get their first
win since back in your playing things.
Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
All that and.
Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
More to come, and just on the other side of
this two minute break here, don't go anywhere. You're listening
to high school football on your Home for high school Football,
Moose Country one O six point seven.
Speaker 1 (01:18:09):
This is Friday Night Lights on Moose Country one OH.
It's your home for high school football, Moose Country one
O six point seven.
Speaker 3 (01:18:19):
Welcome back, everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:18:20):
We've reached halftime here on your home for high school
football Moose Country one O six point seven FM and iHeartRadio.
Alongside my friend and colleague Dan Zonds. My name is
Noah Schwartz, and we've had a good one for you
here throughout the first half as the four and four
Spring Valley Cardinals trying to sneak into that playoff picture.
They currently lead the hometown Colefax Vikings at oh to eight.
(01:18:43):
Uh who here by a score of twenty two to
eight Spring Valley over Colefax. So Dan, we talked quite
a bit about that first half. During the first half,
but obviously both teams showing flashes, both teams scoring, both
teams getting stops.
Speaker 3 (01:18:59):
What's stuck out to.
Speaker 5 (01:19:01):
Just the tenacity by both these teams.
Speaker 4 (01:19:03):
Both of these teams really want this win tonight, no
matter which way you cut it, no matter which way
it's been on offense, it's been really all Spring Valley,
but the tenacity by Colfax to really keep this game
alive and not just kind of give up and let
this thing go by the wayside is really impressive to me.
The Kolfax defense has had a few injuries on its
(01:19:24):
same as the offense. Jacob Wall going out really doesn't
help them, But since then the offense just has not
found their way through, and if they're going to get
back into this game, they really need to have a
skilled player to step up. Jacob Wall has been really
the lifeblood of this team throughout much of the season.
But one player doesn't make a team. You have to
have more players stepping up out.
Speaker 5 (01:19:45):
There, and we're just not seeing it right now. That pressed,
along with Spring Valley almost blitzing up the middle every
single time, and no one.
Speaker 3 (01:19:53):
Really able to pick up that block.
Speaker 4 (01:19:55):
It's just really has been a hard time for the
Kolfax offense. But on defense, they've really stalled out some
of the Spring Valley drives that looked like they could
just go for six every single time. This could easily
have been maybe a twenty eight to eight lead, maybe
even a thirty five to eight lead, but they stuck
in it, and right now it's only a fourteen point
lead for the Spring Valley Cardinal team that's desperately trying
(01:20:17):
to find a playoff spot before the end of the season.
Speaker 2 (01:20:21):
We will have to keep an eye on that. Here
is we continue on in the halftime show. This would
be normally the time when I'd tell you about where
we are next week, but the thing is, we don't
know yet.
Speaker 3 (01:20:35):
We're figuring it out. We'll figure it out. I know
that we're waiting on.
Speaker 2 (01:20:38):
Of course, the selection show on Saturday over on WQOW.
Speaker 3 (01:20:42):
Is that on err on their website.
Speaker 4 (01:20:44):
That's going to be on both actually, so it's going
to be a good time. Tune in Channel eighteen, tune
in on the WQOW website. However, you may choose to
join us, and you're going to be in for a
good three hour session of not only just great bracket reveals,
but also some good analysis from the one and only
Nick Tabart, the sports director at WQW AT.
Speaker 2 (01:21:05):
News and Nick Tabart always a consummate professional there. It'll
be fun to see as we await the selection. But
so we we don't know where we'll be, We don't
know who will be covering. We've got some guesses, of course,
but we will be here with you next week, a
week from today at seven pm right here on Moose
Country one oh six point seven FM, Goose one oh
(01:21:27):
six dot com and iHeartRadio, your home for high school football. Now, Dan,
I know you've been struggling with the out of town scoreboard.
It has not been cooperating.
Speaker 4 (01:21:35):
That is not that's that is quite literally a big
fact there.
Speaker 2 (01:21:39):
No, Yeah, have you have you found anything? I know
I've seen a lot of buffering.
Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
There's been more buffering than there has been scores. But
I will definitely get the scores going as we go
throughout the game. But with seven minutes left, just looking
at some of the just looking at the standings for
both of these uh for the division really Dune Saint Croix.
Speaker 8 (01:21:58):
They've got.
Speaker 5 (01:22:00):
They have a Boysville obviously.
Speaker 4 (01:22:03):
Up top, but then you also have Turtle Lake who's
gonna be going against Boysville tonight, and that game's currently
going on. Turtle Lake buying for another playoff spot too.
They're closer to being in than Spring Valley. Spring Valley
currently born two in the conference. They need to pick
up this fifth one, especially having a tiebreaker over Turtle
Lake right now and having gone down and lost two
(01:22:24):
in a row and also losing one.
Speaker 5 (01:22:26):
To Glenwood City.
Speaker 4 (01:22:27):
You lose that tiebreaker over Glenwood City and now you
have to really find and make up this loss, and
Colfax is going to be the one that you need
to make up with today if you want to have
that chance to really find your spotself in a good
spot in selection.
Speaker 5 (01:22:41):
Saturday, almost said Sunday, all Selection Saturday.
Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
Figure out March madness on the brain. Well, thank you
very much for that insight. Well you will pick that
up here in the second half. We'll be back in
just about seven minutes. Right here on Moose Country one
O six point seven FM, You're home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (01:23:00):
This is Friday Night Lights on Moose Country one oh
six point seven. It's your home for high school football,
Moose Country, one oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (01:23:10):
Hi, everybody, we've reached the second half and we're just
about ready to go here Noah Sports and Dan Zh's
alongside you here on your home for high school football
is well. We've got two quarters left of the regular season.
Spring Valley trying to sneak into the playoffs, cole Fax
trying to avoid another winless season. Right now, it's Spring
Valley leading twenty two to eight as we get ready
(01:23:33):
for the second half. Hi, welcome back in my friend
and colleague Dan Zone.
Speaker 4 (01:23:37):
Yeah, and it's been a bit of a tumultuous and.
Speaker 3 (01:23:40):
Really exciting game, honestly.
Speaker 4 (01:23:42):
I mean those two teams, yeah, very close game. I've
seen a lot of intensity from both these two teams
and a lot of scoring so far, a lot from
Spring Valley.
Speaker 3 (01:23:50):
But Colefax start off this game very well.
Speaker 4 (01:23:53):
Got that eight yard or got that seven yard touchdown
to Wall and then the two point conversion with Wall.
Speaker 3 (01:23:58):
But now of course he got Walls. Who knows if he.
Speaker 4 (01:24:01):
Comes back into this game. You have to really find
some skill player. You gotta find someone else to really
step up and help fill that hole that wall just left,
and we.
Speaker 3 (01:24:10):
Will have to see.
Speaker 2 (01:24:11):
Of course, it is more than a two score game
on the scoreboard here, of course, twenty two to eight,
but on the fields it's felt.
Speaker 3 (01:24:19):
A lot closer.
Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
Of course, Colfax has challenged quite a bit here. Spring
Valley has had some miscues on both sides the ball,
and that will certainly be something to look for here
as we were just about ready to get underway.
Speaker 5 (01:24:34):
Yeah, absolutely, and if that's the thing. It's been miscues
from both sides.
Speaker 4 (01:24:39):
But it's been really about who's been able to take
advantage of those miscues, and so far Spring Valley's been
the one to take advantage of the most miscues here.
Colfax giving up they're giving up a twenty or fourth
down end short if I can get that out fourth
down and short at their own twenty yard line to
give Spring Valley a chance to run that one clean in,
(01:25:01):
and that one got them their first lead of the game.
Speaker 3 (01:25:04):
You can't allow those things to happen.
Speaker 4 (01:25:06):
You can try and force and get that fourth down,
but you gotta really be knowledgeable. I'm where to be
doing that because you can't be doing that in the
twenty yard line and give it back for them.
Speaker 5 (01:25:15):
With boldle gold situation upcoming.
Speaker 3 (01:25:20):
You certainly can't.
Speaker 2 (01:25:21):
As we're nearly ready to go here in this one,
just waiting for these two teams to take the field
for the second half kickoff. If I'm remembering right, it
was quite a while ago. I believe that it'll be
Spring Valley returning. Here is Colfax got the ball and
scored on that first drive.
Speaker 3 (01:25:39):
Why have that right?
Speaker 5 (01:25:40):
Yeah, you have that, absolutely correct, my good friend.
Speaker 3 (01:25:43):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:25:45):
It looks like that's what the case will be. Both
teams still huddling on the sidelines as we get ready
to go. But twelve minutes on the clock here for
this third quarter, the final half of regular season football
here the twenty twenty five season.
Speaker 4 (01:26:00):
Fast it does and blink and you might miss it
because these type of games are where this is where
the fun is right. Nice Friday night, it's beautiful, got
a light breeze coming. You can see the American flag
flowing in the distance. And I mean these are this
is quite literally Friday night lights. This is what you
come to pay five dollars for and get some great
(01:26:22):
popcorn along the way.
Speaker 2 (01:26:23):
Well, we got in for free, but I'll second that
on the popcorn it is twenty two to eight spring
Valley over coal Fax, and spring Valley will get another
chance at it. As coal Fax getting ready to kick
it away from right to left here on your radio dial,
as the great Pete Canutson would sit as there it
is cole Fax the Vikings breaking the huddle for their
(01:26:44):
kicking team. Guys, it looks like for them their kicker
will be Grant Paulus.
Speaker 3 (01:26:51):
Ready to kick it away.
Speaker 2 (01:26:52):
Looks like it is Turner and Schmidt back to return that.
Speaker 3 (01:26:55):
One high in the air.
Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
That one will land in about the twenty five taken
by one of the upmen who's slips looks like that
is Ethan Platingo, who his eyes got big. He thought
he had an opportunity to make a play and just
lost his foot.
Speaker 4 (01:27:11):
And most times on special teams he don't really teacher
guys to really go for the ball if it's above
your head. That time it looked like more above his
head than anything, and he really wanted to make a
play there.
Speaker 5 (01:27:21):
He could see it in his eyes.
Speaker 4 (01:27:22):
Just one slip, wrong slip on the field and was
down right there.
Speaker 2 (01:27:26):
So he will be down right at the twenty nine
yard line where he stumbled to the grass. Eleven fifty
eight left to go here in this third quarter, and
we get to see Mason Winger in this Spring Valley
offense once again. Spring Valley will come out with Winger
under center, two backs in the backfield, low and wide
receiver for Spring Valley. That's Hannock All going on the
(01:27:47):
far sideline here on first intend to hand the ball
to Sam Schmidt. Schmidt makes it past the initial line,
makes a man miss up past the forty, but a
flagged down. So we're gonna have to see what this
one it is. It looked like it was in the
area of hold.
Speaker 5 (01:28:00):
Yes it did, and that's what it's going to be.
Speaker 3 (01:28:03):
Is a holding call against Spring Valley.
Speaker 2 (01:28:05):
They will go backwards, but it remains first down here
for the Cardinals.
Speaker 4 (01:28:10):
Yeah, and just another miscue to add to the game
here now for Spring Valley. Just feels like the nerves
are really getting to them right now, already coming out
of this game, and you got a penalty to back
you up. Now it's going to be first and even
longer than it was before, will be first and twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:28:26):
The ball is sitting right at the nineteen yard line
here for the Cardinals as they come out first and
twenty here for Spring Valley. Winger will be under center again,
same formation as last time, as we'll see if Schmid
gets the carry again, Oh, this time it will be
Asher Turner and Turner fights forward to about the twenty four.
(01:28:47):
Looks like a gain of five on first down for
Asher Turner, who at this point he's got to be
up over a thousand yards on the season right quite easily.
Speaker 4 (01:28:55):
And not only that, but he's really breaking it in
a touchdown marks as well. We currently right now on
the website it says he has about nine touchdowns with
that last touchdown he got yet breaks some over that
ten touchdown mark. So on thousand yards on the season
and ten touchdowns for the young Spring Valley running.
Speaker 2 (01:29:13):
Back ten to fifty nine and counting left in the quarter.
It'll be second and fifteen after the game of five
there from Turner on first and twenty handoff goes to
Turner again running to his left, tries to bounce off
of a couple alignmen, gets maybe a yard or two.
It'll depend on the spot. It looks like it might
be a generous spot at the moment, but still behind
(01:29:35):
the sticks on third and what I think they're gonna
call third and eleven.
Speaker 4 (01:29:39):
Yeah, and Isaac Kanigg really coming in there, making that
first initial hit on Astra Turner. Turner just twisting and turning,
trying to get himself any extra yards. But now third
and long again here for Spring Valley, and this is
not the way you want your first drive to start
if you're a Cardinal.
Speaker 2 (01:29:55):
Third and eleven here for Spring Valley. Yeah, So Winger
breaks the huddle and the Cardinals come to the line.
The ball is sitting right at the twenty eight yard line,
so Winger will be in the shotgun. Three wide receivers
toward the far sideline. As they send a man in
motion back to pass his Winger, flags fly at the
snap on the far sideline. That one incomplete, as looked
(01:30:19):
like that one was intended for. I think that Schmid
over there, but that ball a little bit lowly couldn't
dig it out before it hit the turf. And we'll
have to see what the flag is as here's the signal.
It's a false start on Spring Valley that has declined,
so it will be fourth and eleven, and it looks
like a punk situation here for the.
Speaker 4 (01:30:39):
Cardinals, and that's exactly what you needed if you're Colfax.
That defense came out of the locker room firing, did
not allow ash Returner to break away like he did
in that first half and really limited the run game there.
But also something to look at again. This is now
two penalties already in just this first drive for Spring
Valley coming out of the locker room. Not something you'd
(01:30:59):
like to see if you're a Cardinal fan.
Speaker 2 (01:31:01):
And they say it will be fourth and eleven, nine
fifty eight left to go, but Spring Valley's still leading
twenty two to eight, and it looks like we're going
to get a coal Fax time out here on fourth
and eleven, and so we'll step aside here once again.
Twenty two to eight, Spring Value over Colefax on your
home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (01:31:20):
This is Friday night lights on Moose Country one oh
six point seven.
Speaker 12 (01:31:25):

Speaker 1 (01:31:55):
It's your home for high school football. Moose Country one
O six point seven.
Speaker 2 (01:32:00):
Welcome back everybody, twenty two to eight Spring Valley leading
cole Thanks, but the Cardinals are ready to punt, so
Colefax will get another shot here imminently, as it looks
like the winger is back.
Speaker 3 (01:32:12):
In punt formation.
Speaker 2 (01:32:13):
A little bit of motion pre snap here on fourth
and eleven for the Cardinals, high snap winger.
Speaker 3 (01:32:20):
Deals with it, steps into it.
Speaker 2 (01:32:22):
It's a line drive kick along the far side field
and about his own thirty eight. It looks like that's
Parsik as Parsik nearly makes the fifties stopped at his
own forty eight. So it's a return of about ten
yards on that punt and a pretty good starting field
position here for the Colfax Vikings.
Speaker 4 (01:32:39):
Yeah again now for the Colfax Vikings. But once again,
like we said before, they need to find a way
to take advantage of these short field situations. This one
is starting around close towards that midfield marker. But you
gotta be able to find a way to get that
offense going like you did in.
Speaker 3 (01:32:53):
That first quarter.
Speaker 5 (01:32:54):
Now without Jacob Wall out there, you gotta find a
way to generate some more offense.
Speaker 3 (01:33:00):
Will be first and ten.
Speaker 2 (01:33:01):
They're spotting it at the forty nine yard line here
for Colefax. As will be a shotgun. Look here for
the Vikings. Three wide receivers on the near sideline. One
man all alone is back to pass us Peterson. He
completes it on a little dump off on the near sideline.
As it looks like back in the game. Is Jacob
(01:33:22):
Wall lower in the shoulder and get in the game
of about two or three.
Speaker 4 (01:33:27):
Yeah, and that play really should have been stacked up there,
but he absolutely ran over that Spring Valley defender. Just
a great job there from Wall coming back from his injury.
Not really what you expect from a guy that went
out and had to really find his way back into
the game.
Speaker 3 (01:33:42):
But good to see him back out there.
Speaker 2 (01:33:45):
Good to see him back out there, of course, this
Colfax team ravaged by injuries. He'll be second and seven
here for the Vikings. Three wide receivers far side, one
man near side, here for Colefax, little toss goes to
Wall out of that shotgun look, and Wall put forward
pass midfield of about the forty five before he's taken down.
That will make it third and very manageable here for
(01:34:07):
cole Fax.
Speaker 4 (01:34:08):
And these delayed pitches have really been a thorn in
Spring Valley side. It's almost like they're kind of waiting
for the play to develop out there, and by the
time the play develops right in front of them, they're
already getting blocked down field. And Jacob Wall, if he
gets a little bit of space out there, he's going
to run you right over third.
Speaker 2 (01:34:25):
And three, nine oh seven left to go on the
third quarter. Cole facts they're trying to they're trying to
put something together. Is Peterson back to pass looking over
the middle off the fingertips just a little bit too
tall for Axton call.
Speaker 3 (01:34:39):
They'll bring up fourth and three.
Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
But you know, with the scoreboard where it is, the
clock where it is, I wouldn't be surprised here if
Colefax keeps the offense out there on fourth and three.
Speaker 5 (01:34:49):
Yeah, and they are sending a different unit out there,
it could very well be more pass heavy.
Speaker 4 (01:34:56):
They they've been kind of switching around, but it looks
like they might be punting it from here.
Speaker 2 (01:34:59):
Ye yup, So it looks like that will be the case.
I think that's paulus back ready to punt, as Schmidt
back to return. Here for Spring Valley on fourth and three,
trying to pin the Cardinals deep. Paulis no, he's gonna
run for it, running near side, stiff arms a man,
and he's got the first down up past the portal,
out of bounds to what about the thirty seven yard line?
Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
Are you kidding me?
Speaker 5 (01:35:24):
Spring Valley got caught completely off guard there.
Speaker 2 (01:35:27):
Fourth and three, and you don't even think about the
fake Wow, man, cole facts great, great idea and great
execution that keeps this drive a line.
Speaker 3 (01:35:37):
I have nothing to say there that.
Speaker 4 (01:35:39):
Not only that, but Paul's had to make sure he
got to that first down marker he almost brought brought
down beforehand.
Speaker 3 (01:35:45):
Instead that stiff arm.
Speaker 5 (01:35:46):
That stiff arm really got him an extra couple of
yards on that play. Great John by.
Speaker 2 (01:35:51):
Him, stays in bounds and gets the yardage he needed.
Its first and ten ball on the Spring Valley thirty
eight here for cole Fax.
Speaker 3 (01:36:00):
Peterson in the shotgun.
Speaker 2 (01:36:01):
He's gonna pitch it where right to Wall and Wall
up past the forty excuse me, up past the thirty
with ahead of steam about the twenty six. Looks like
that'll be another cole Fax first down, back to back, go.
Speaker 4 (01:36:14):
The Vikings, and that's Wall just gashing that defense once
more and again another delayed pitch on that right side,
and they just can't see to find or see the
play before it even develops right there, and as soon
as they see the play, they're already being blocked down field.
Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
Cole Fax knows they need a score. Here is once again,
they go in a spread formation. One back in the
backfield that is Wall, as Peterson is in the shotgun.
Peterson will hand.
Speaker 3 (01:36:41):
The ball off to Wall.
Speaker 2 (01:36:42):
Wall has to bounce off the line running to his left,
sustain some heavy contact, and he's out of bounds at
about the twenty five yard line. Very minimal game there
and now second down and looks like we've got an
injured player down on the field.
Speaker 4 (01:37:01):
Actually, I think it's the fact that his helmet came
off that he might not be injured out there. But
as soon as that helmet comes off, you have to
leave the field.
Speaker 2 (01:37:08):
That is true. I was I'm grateful for that. I
thought there was somebody down by where the Colfax bench
was standing, but no injury that time, so we already.
Speaker 4 (01:37:17):
We thankfully been lucky there that that. There's been so
many injuries this game. It's just good to see someone
get off the field and come back on.
Speaker 2 (01:37:24):
Thank whoever you'd like to for that one. No gain
makes it second down here for Austin Peterson.
Speaker 3 (01:37:30):
And the Coalfax Vikings.
Speaker 2 (01:37:31):
He's back to pass three wide receivers to his right
and he finds one of them complete as up past
the twenty five nearly to the twenty looked.
Speaker 3 (01:37:41):
Like that was Grant Paulis.
Speaker 2 (01:37:43):
Paulis on the completion makes it third and manageable here,
ball right about the twenty one yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:37:50):
And I really liked that play from Colfax. They sent
out two decoys as wide receivers out there and then
had their main guy cut right across the middle. They
didn't see that coming, and that was almost another first
down if you.
Speaker 2 (01:38:00):
Doesn't slift third and five, seven, one six left to
go here in the third quarter on the clock, Paulis
will toss to wall Wall running left.
Speaker 3 (01:38:09):
Oh, he's got the first down.
Speaker 2 (01:38:11):
Powering his way through the pile up past the fifteen
to about the thirteen for Jacob Wall. Don't look now,
but this Coalfax team, they're showing some signs of life.
Another first down.
Speaker 4 (01:38:22):
And that's what I was talking about right there, getting
your seal players out.
Speaker 3 (01:38:26):
In space so that they can make their plays.
Speaker 4 (01:38:29):
The offensive line has been really holding onto their blocks
out there, not allowing anyone to really get out and
spreading this offense has really made done numbers for this team.
Speaker 2 (01:38:39):
Four wide receivers here for coal Facts first and ten
from the thirteen, rolling right as Peterson throwing just incomplete
along the far sideline. Looks like he was looking for
Paulus again. Second down.
Speaker 4 (01:38:51):
I like that play too, but Paul's just kind of
slowed up on his route a bit, kind of expecting
to maybe have to dance around and maybe even throw
a block for Peterson out there, but just nothing materialized.
And almost got that catch with that ball, but you
gotta really secure it a bit too low to the ground,
and now you got a second town.
Speaker 2 (01:39:10):
And ten second and ten after the incompletion. That's gonna
happen when you throw the football. But Colefax showing that
they're not afraid. Here ball still on the thirteen clock,
stopped at six forty five.
Speaker 3 (01:39:22):
Left to go on the third.
Speaker 2 (01:39:23):
An eternity of time for this offense is it's a
toss to wall. Wall finds some space along the outside,
trying to turn it upfield, and it looks like he
gets down inside the ten to about the nine before
he's pushed out a bounds and that'll go a long
way here for Colefax and will bring up third and manageable.
Speaker 4 (01:39:42):
And Colin Brunner had a chance there to really get
a stop on that edge, but he just could not
find his way around that Colfax blocker just a one
arm out, but could not get to Wall and Wall
speedster right around that outside.
Speaker 5 (01:39:56):
Good pick up there what looked like it could have been.
Speaker 3 (01:39:58):
Lost in the backfield.
Speaker 2 (01:40:00):
Four makes it third and six here for Colefax. Peterson
in the shotgun once again, three wide receivers on the
near side for the Vikings as this one once again
it will be a handoff to Wall this time nothing
doing big stop by that front four there for Spring Valley,
no gain, and now it's decision time here on what
(01:40:20):
will be fourth and six inside the ten.
Speaker 4 (01:40:23):
It looks like yeah, and they really needed that one
there to get that to really stop the bleeding. Colfax
had been running heavily on down man, they had not
had a chance to really stop it there. Now, Colfax,
it's decision time. Gotta figure out what's gonna work for
you best here in this fourth and goal or fourth
down in to go situation.
Speaker 2 (01:40:41):
Fourth and six from the nine, They're gonna keep the
offense out there, four wide receivers. Uh Peterson throws incomplete
near side. He was looking for a man as looks
like that was Shindler trying to bring that one in.
But it will be an incompletion. But hey, you know,
not the worst place in the world to go for it.
(01:41:02):
It PINNs Spring Valley's offense back deep inside their own.
Speaker 4 (01:41:05):
Ten, and especially with how his defense has been running,
that could come to be a big advantage for them
going forward, especially where they stopped him last time and
gave them some short field to work with. But now
that's the second time a pass has been dropped for
what could have been a first down on both teams.
Speaker 3 (01:41:22):
Now, still a lot of game left, five to nineteen
left to go.
Speaker 2 (01:41:25):
In the third, here is spring Valley takes over. It
will be winger under center. They send a man in
motion to the Cardinals as it'll be a quick pitch
running left is Schmidt and Sam Schmidt able to fight
his way forward. Looks like at about the sixteen yard
line now second down.
Speaker 4 (01:41:45):
Yeah, and that was a good decent pickup there for
Sam Schmid, who kind of had to wait around the
offense and kind of wait for his blocking to develop
there before he could really take off.
Speaker 5 (01:41:54):
Wasn't really able to show off that head burning speed
of his, but hey, he was able to find some
yardage there. And now it's second to management.
Speaker 2 (01:42:03):
The ain't of seven or six or seven. They keep
changing the scoreboard. Makes it second and four officially here
and this will be a handout once again.
Speaker 3 (01:42:12):
Looks like Schmid.
Speaker 2 (01:42:13):
Schmidt has got the first down on the far sideline
as he's able to get that one up past the
twenty five yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:42:21):
And that was just a great job by Schmid to
kind of follow behind his blockers and find that first down.
And now you're kind of moving here as Spring Valley
didn't really get much of a rhythm going in that
first offensive possession in the second half. Now they're kind
of finding. They're finding what really got them going in
that second quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:42:39):
As it will be first and ten, ball right at
the twenty five yard line here for Spring Valley, and
a methodical drive would go a long way here with
four to fourteen left to go, it's a handoff this time.
It looks like Turner and Turner fights forward to about
the twenty nine. They might give them the thirty. They're
on second on first down, brings up second and about six.
Speaker 4 (01:42:59):
And that's big man again. Grant Cook bad misslock on
him on that outside edge, and he was just right
there to swallow it up. Still got some decent running
on that game, but it could have been something much more.
Speaker 2 (01:43:11):
It'll be second and six after that game of.
Speaker 3 (01:43:13):
Four for Turner.
Speaker 2 (01:43:14):
Here his winger runs in with the play call and
breaks the huddle for Spring Valley. Three forty two and
counting left to go. Here in the third quarter, Spring
Valley holding on to a twenty two to eight lead,
trying to make the playoffs by beating Colefax. Winger is
under center, looks like jumping up front. Who are they
gonna call this one on? I think I saw the
(01:43:36):
movement on Colefax first.
Speaker 5 (01:43:37):
I think so too.
Speaker 2 (01:43:38):
It will be off sides on cole Fax. That'll be
free five yards. Turns things into second and one. Now
for Spring.
Speaker 4 (01:43:45):
Valley, that's just that anticipation that Colfax has been having.
They've been trying to jump off the ball first and
really catch Spring Valley lacking. But Spring Valley that time
played them on that one and got a free five
yards out of it.
Speaker 2 (01:43:59):
So it will be second and one. The ball is
sitting right at the thirty four yard line. I think
the nose of it's probably on the thirty five as
Winger is under center. Once again, two backs in the
backfield for the Spring Valley Cardinals. This time the handoff
will go to Schmidt and Schmidt is taken down. All
looks like it was a fake either way. Whoever had
(01:44:19):
the ball did not get very far and we get
a flag toward the end of that play.
Speaker 4 (01:44:24):
Yeah, they may have actually lost yards on that play,
and it's a hold again on Spring Valley.
Speaker 2 (01:44:28):
But didn't do any good if they didn't get any
yards out of it. So they will lose a few
yards there for Spring Valley, they'll be backed up, easy come,
easy go.
Speaker 4 (01:44:38):
Yeah, as they say, a little high, little low this time,
just a.
Speaker 3 (01:44:41):
Little too low, just a little bit, and it will
go back to where are they're gonna mark it off
to here.
Speaker 2 (01:44:51):
That's that's the sixty four thousand dollars question, because now
they're moving backwards. They're gonna mark this one all all
the way back to looks like about the twenty.
Speaker 3 (01:45:03):
Three yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:45:06):
It will now be second and looks like i'd call
that twelve. Winger is under center, and this time he
will hand the ball off. Looks like that is Turner
and Turner making some moves. He gets up past the
thirty to about the thirty three, leaves him with a
third and manageable.
Speaker 3 (01:45:24):
Looks like it'll be about third and six. And that
was just a great job by Astro Turner right there.
Speaker 4 (01:45:28):
I mean, there was nothing developed there and Colfax had
a chance to actually stuff that play.
Speaker 3 (01:45:32):
At the line to go.
Speaker 8 (01:45:33):
But just a great job.
Speaker 4 (01:45:34):
This is why he's got a thousand yards in this season.
He can just easily cut it up field and make
a what was maybe maybe a two or three yard
game into five to seven.
Speaker 2 (01:45:44):
It's got the explosiveness and the vision to make it
happen because he gets all the way up to the
thirty three yard line, making it third down and three
for Spring Valley. Winger under center again, two wide receivers
on the near side. Looks like Turner's the loan back
in the backfield is Schmidt, goes in motion and it
goes to Turner. Turner's got a first down, lowers the shoulder,
and he's taken down up past the forty five. It's
(01:46:06):
another Spring Valley first down.
Speaker 4 (01:46:09):
And just that time the Colfax linebackers could not find
the right gap to get into. Great job by the
blocking offensive lineman to really push that hole up.
Speaker 5 (01:46:16):
And also it felt like.
Speaker 4 (01:46:18):
They may have thought that it was gonna be a
pitch on that far side. Instead just gave it right
to Astro Turner right up the middle. And hey, if
it works, why fix it.
Speaker 2 (01:46:27):
It ain't broke, don't break it. And Spring Valley's certainly
running their offense well. Inside of two minutes left to
go in the penultimate quarter of the game, it's a
triple word, score, word and scrabble. Forty six yard line
here on first in ten is Spring Valley center Schmitten
motion winger and the shotgun will go back to pass.
He's under pressure he's gonna step up, He's going to run,
(01:46:48):
makes a man miss across midfield before he's taken down
on about the Colfax forty eight game of it looks
like I'd call that seven on first down, makes it second.
Speaker 4 (01:46:58):
Down, And you got to give credit to Mason Winger.
I mean, nothing has been developing for this offense really
for the passing game, and he's just really had to
take off every single time now looking to really throw
the ball out there, but just nothing developing for him.
Speaker 3 (01:47:14):
It will be second and two.
Speaker 2 (01:47:16):
They're gonna call that a gain of eight for Winger
on the keeper and his swinger will go under center.
Looks like Turner the loan back in the backfield. A
lot of big bodies out there here for Spring Valley,
as it will be a handoff to Turner and Turner
only needed two. I think he got two and a
half or three, and so that will be another first
(01:47:37):
down for Spring Valley. They keep the clock moving inside
of a minute and they get a new set of
downs a past the forty five to the forty three, And.
Speaker 4 (01:47:44):
It really did look like he was gonna get stuffed
at the line there, but just a big push at
the end to really get them over the top. And
another good first down there for Spring Valley, who's been
absolutely rolling in this last bit of this quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:47:55):
Sometimes you make the plays in the weight room months beforehand.
Looks like that's what Turner did that time. Because it
is thirty five seconds left to go on the third quarter,
twenty two to eight is your score. And a swinger
in the shotgun here on first and ten for Spring Valley,
and that is another encroachment call or off sides.
Speaker 3 (01:48:15):
Oh, it's gonna be a false.
Speaker 2 (01:48:16):
Start on Spring Valley as it looks like the offense
moved first.
Speaker 3 (01:48:20):
Another penalty on this team.
Speaker 2 (01:48:22):
A lot of presnat penalties along those offensive and defensive lines.
And I'm sure neither set of coaches is gonna be
too thrilled about that.
Speaker 4 (01:48:32):
No, that's definitely gonna be something that's watched in the
film room from either team really and just can't have that,
especially when you're Spring Valley trying to get to the playoffs,
because any other team that really isn't oh to eight
is gonna make you pay for those kind of penalties,
those ticki tacki penalties.
Speaker 2 (01:48:49):
So it'll be first and fifteen thirteen seconds left on
the clock. We'll see if Spring Valley gets a playoff,
they do a wingers in the shotgun looking deep. He's
rolling out to his right, fading that. Rosey's got a
man complete as that will be Colin Brunner and Brunner
up past the thirty five to about the thirty three
yard line and out of bounds, and that will end
(01:49:12):
the third quarter. On Oh, that's gonna be mighty close
to a Spring Valley first down. I don't think it
will be, but we'll have that for you after this.
So we've got twelve minutes left of the regular season,
Spring Valley leading Colefax twenty two to eight. Here on

Speaker 2 (01:50:11):
Welcome back, everybody. Twelve minutes left in the regular season. Uh,
Spring Valley is driving. They've got a twenty two to
eight lead over Colefax. Noah Schwartz and Dan Zoon's alongside
you in this one.
Speaker 3 (01:50:24):
Spring Valley has look good on this drive.
Speaker 4 (01:50:26):
Dan, they have looked good on this drive, and it
really hasn't It's really been a lot of their dynamic
plays that they have had out there. I mean, they've
been really finding it through the passing game. Now as
they got that good completion that looks like it's set
them up for a first down, they're gonna call it
a first down to ten. We thought it was close
to second down and maybe second in inches, but they're
gonna give it.
Speaker 5 (01:50:46):
To them here on first and ten.
Speaker 4 (01:50:49):
But man, they've really been looking good and this is
what you need if you're gonna be making it to
the playoffs. But of course we'll see when selection Saturday.
Speaker 3 (01:50:56):
Comes first and ten. Uh here for Spring Valley.
Speaker 2 (01:51:00):
As they do give the Cardinals the first down ball
right at the thirty three yard line of Colfax. As
they will hand that ball off. That's Sam Schmidt and
Schmidt with a good game up past the thirty nearly
to the twenty five. I think they're gonna say he's
dropped at the twenty six, so that'll be a game
of about six.
Speaker 3 (01:51:17):
They'll call it second and four.
Speaker 4 (01:51:19):
Yeah, And that was just a great job blocking there
by the Spring Valley offensive line just found the right
players to hit on that one and open that gap
wide for Sam Schmidt to find his way up for
a gain of six and now second and manageable.
Speaker 2 (01:51:33):
As here we go second and four, staying ahead of
the sticks here is Spring Valley. They're trying to take
as much time off the clock as they can. They'd
like to cap off this drive with points. As the
handoff on first own goes to Turner, nobody's gonna touch him.
Ten to five touchdown Spring Valley Asher Turner finds the
(01:51:53):
end zone again. He started out running right, cut back
to his left, found that extra block around the sideline
and nobody touched it.
Speaker 5 (01:52:02):
No, he was absolutely gone. It almost felt like he was.
It almost felt like he was untouched the way he
sped right through there. But he had gotten hit a
couple of times and was able to just make that
right cut and that's exactly what they needed to get
that touchdown. Great job there by Asher turning in the
Spring Valley offense.
Speaker 2 (01:52:19):
An exciting runner. He's done it all season long. Here
he's canning on there for the extra point. The kick
is up and it is good, and so that will
make this a twenty nine to eight lead, eleven fourteen
left to play, and we'll step aside.
Speaker 3 (01:52:34):
Here on your home for high school football.

It's your home for high school football Moose Country one
oh six point seven.
Speaker 3 (01:53:17):
Welcome back everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:53:19):
It is a twenty one point lead here for Spring
Valley over Colefax nor Schwarts and dan Zion's alongside you.
Speaker 3 (01:53:26):
There's that big drive for the Cardinals. It looks like that.
Speaker 2 (01:53:28):
One might have put this one out of reach with
eleven minutes and change left to play.
Speaker 4 (01:53:32):
Especially with how this offense has been playing. They've had
so many chances now to cap off their excellent drives
that have gotten inside the thirty, inside the twenty, even
inside the ten before having to turn it over on
downs and just can't finish it off.
Speaker 2 (01:53:49):
Eleven fourteen left to go is canuck kicks off here
for Spring Valley, going from right to left. That one
fielding about the twenty, can't quite find a number, but
up to the thirty end of the thirty two looks
like on that return it was once again Jeremiah York
as York will provide the Colefax Vikings with their starting
(01:54:09):
field position, and we'll see what the Vikings have left
in the store.
Speaker 4 (01:54:13):
And York's been pretty consistent back there, getting some good
yardage on some kick returns. They're not anything groundbreaking getting
to the twenty or anything, but pretty consistent getting past
the thirty every single time.
Speaker 3 (01:54:24):
That's such an offense up pretty well.
Speaker 2 (01:54:26):
This Colfax team showed some flashes on their last drive
but stalled out inside the ten, and then spring Valley
really took the ball all the way down the field.
It's three wide receivers on the near side. Shotgun. Look,
it's a screen passed, stumbling and incomplete.
Speaker 3 (01:54:43):
As Peterson dropped way.
Speaker 2 (01:54:46):
Back through to his wide excuse me, his running back
looked like that was Wall. But Wall must have hit
a slick spot or something.
Speaker 4 (01:54:53):
Second down, Yeah, I was gonna say I caught the
back end of where that ball was thrown.
Speaker 3 (01:54:58):
I couldn't sell absolutely.
Speaker 4 (01:55:01):
Either fell on the play or got knocked down on
the play. But either way it's going to be an incompletion.
Clock stops at eleven oh four.
Speaker 2 (01:55:07):
It'll be second down and ten eleven minutes and four
seconds left to play. As you said, once again, it'll
be three wide receivers to the right here for Colefax,
but Peterson's gonna go under center for this one. Of course,
wall in the backfield. He'll take it on the pitch
here on second and ten, but he'll go backwards. He's
brought down at the twenty four yard line. Big tackle
(01:55:31):
for a loss that time, as it looked like in
on the stop that was Brady Lamb And.
Speaker 4 (01:55:36):
We're finally seeing that explosiveness from the Spring Valley defense
that's been missing almost for three weeks now, but finally
coming back live at the end of this game, especially
in time for playoffs if they're able to make it.
Speaker 2 (01:55:47):
With the Saturday third and sixteen loss of it looks
like six on that one as Colefax comes to the
line clock inside of ten and a half minutes left
to play here in their season. As Peterson, he's in
the shotgun. Three wide receivers this time who was left
(01:56:07):
looking that way, throwing deep down the field but incomplete.
He wanted Paulus, who was covered well that time. Uh,
it just could not get his head around in time.
That ball sailed a little bit too, and it will
bring up fourth and very long in a punt situation
here for the Colefax Vikings.
Speaker 4 (01:56:25):
It did, but it felt like that ball was a
manageable catch for Paula's if he hadn't stopped where he
did on the route, if he would have kept going
with that route, maybe slowed down just a little bit,
he probably could have came up with that. But instead
sails out and that's a long incompletion resulting in a
massive fourth down.
Speaker 3 (01:56:41):
Look good in the air though it did.
Speaker 5 (01:56:42):
It did ad a nice spiral on it, so.
Speaker 2 (01:56:44):
It will be grant Paulas out there to kick it
away here on the punt unit looks like the lone
Oh no, we're gonna get a flag here well before the.
Speaker 5 (01:56:53):
Snap, maybe a lineup off sides and could be it.
Speaker 2 (01:56:58):
And it is against Spring Valley, so so it won't
go too far right here for Colefax. It'll still be
fourth and pretty pretty long.
Speaker 4 (01:57:07):
Yeah, and I don't see them going for it here.
But that's yet another penalty on the Spring Valley Cardinals.
Speaker 3 (01:57:12):
And now that's.
Speaker 4 (01:57:13):
That's gotta be over ten penalties, right. I haven't been counting,
but it does feel like it's hit that double digit
marker for this team.
Speaker 2 (01:57:19):
Maybe we should start writing this stuff down next season.
There is the pumped on fourth and what is now
eleven bounces at the forty field is at the thirty
five by Schmidt.
Speaker 3 (01:57:29):
Schmidt making some moves running to the.
Speaker 2 (01:57:30):
Far side forty five to fifty past midfield along the
far sideline and hit on a bounce and about the
forty two late flag comes flying in.
Speaker 5 (01:57:39):
He took the.
Speaker 4 (01:57:40):
Head off Schmidt there. Wow, big hit, massive hit. I
think that was Grant Paulus on the hit too.
Speaker 5 (01:57:48):
He he got up right after that one.
Speaker 2 (01:57:51):
Oh, that's uh, it's something to be thankful for. Maybe
some frustration being taken out by that colfax side.
Speaker 4 (01:57:58):
Yeah, it's a bit of a big lead right now,
still ten minutes to go, but still.
Speaker 2 (01:58:02):
A pretty great return there for Schmidt as they're gonna
march off some more yards after that hit, So it
wasn't about the forty two And looks like they're gonna
call that a ten yard penalty and it'll be first
and ten at the coalfax excuse me, it looks like
that'll be the twenty eight. So that's where we're well
(01:58:25):
where we will go with that one right at ten
minutes left to go here in the fourth quarter in
this one, of course, twenty nine to eight Spring Valley
leading Coalfax.
Speaker 4 (01:58:38):
It looks like they're gonna exchange balls out here, just
taking a little time off the taking a time to
slow down this clock now.
Speaker 2 (01:58:44):
Yep, still stopped right at ten minutes and no seconds.
So they they've got the right football in there now,
a dry one, I'm sure that was very important on
a cloudless night. So Winger gets in there under center.
Two wide receivers both toward the near side here for
Spring Valley. This will be a handoff that one goes to. Turner,
(01:59:08):
avoids a strip, stays on his feet and gets up
to about the fifteen yard line. Net will be a
big first down here for Spring Valley on a nice
carry yet again by Asher Turner.
Speaker 4 (01:59:20):
Yeah, and it just feels like the body language from
this Colfax defensive line and really the defense in general,
is just kind of let's just get this game over
with now, which is not the mentality you want to have,
especially with nine minutes and forty five seconds to go
in this game. You still have ample time, and there's
been so many miscues on the Spring Valley side that
really anything was up in the air.
Speaker 2 (01:59:39):
The first and ten they're gonna mark that ball right
at the fifteen yard line.
Speaker 3 (01:59:44):
Here.
Speaker 2 (01:59:44):
That's another new set of downs for Spring Valley because
it will be Winger under center once again, two backs
in the backfield, and one wide receiver all alone on
the far sideline. This goes to Turner again. Turner tries
to turn the corner running who is right along the
far sideline. Not a whole lot there, as he has
hit and dropped, and that will be a gain of
(02:00:06):
maybe a couple second down.
Speaker 4 (02:00:08):
Just wasn't really able to open up the gaps as
well as they did before in that last plays there.
Speaker 5 (02:00:14):
I believe a time out on the field.
Speaker 3 (02:00:17):
Looks like is that the Colfax time out there?
Speaker 2 (02:00:22):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (02:00:22):
No, it might be Wall coming off the field. He
looks a little bit shaken up, just maybe need any breather.
Speaker 2 (02:00:29):
We know he's been battling since that first half, and uh,
they'll take the time to get Wall out.
Speaker 3 (02:00:34):
Of the game there.
Speaker 4 (02:00:35):
Defensively, he is a sophomore, he's a young guy, and
he's playing almost as well as some of the seniors
out there on both teams.
Speaker 2 (02:00:42):
It's been fun to watch and now it looks like
that Will didn't quite see this signal.
Speaker 3 (02:00:48):
Is that a Spring Valley timeout?
Speaker 5 (02:00:50):
No, I believe they're just gonna say the play can
start now.
Speaker 3 (02:00:55):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:00:55):
There's been a few confusing signals here on the on
the field by the referees.
Speaker 3 (02:00:59):
We'll take it.
Speaker 2 (02:00:59):
The clock winds at nine oh seven, left to go
here as winger, it was under center here on what
we'll be second and ten, no gain for Turner and
it'll be a handoff to Turner again. Met in the backfield,
but somehow stays on his feet and makes it back
to the fifteen yard line, the line of scrimmage, and
(02:01:20):
turn a.
Speaker 4 (02:01:20):
Little slow to get up there, but pops right up
after someone puts a handout for.
Speaker 5 (02:01:26):
Get to see him up and running again. But that's
what that's what we're talking about. When Aster Turner.
Speaker 4 (02:01:31):
Is just able to kind of push that pile a
little bit more, even though he got stuffed up a
little bit, and even though it wasn't gain of nothing,
he still fought ahead and avoided that loss of yardage.
Speaker 3 (02:01:43):
Third and ten.
Speaker 2 (02:01:44):
Of course, Spring Valley leading twenty nine to eight, looking
to put this one away with eight twenty one and
counting left to go in the game.
Speaker 5 (02:01:52):
Right now, it's for some reason. We're oh, there we go.
Speaker 2 (02:01:55):
Winger a little slow getting the play in from the
Spring Valley sideline. He breaks the h the back judge
has his hand up. Five seconds left before they get
a delay game and now it will be a timeout.
Spring Valley trying to save those five yards on a
little bit of a delay.
Speaker 3 (02:02:12):
Getting the play in.
Speaker 2 (02:02:13):
So with ato five loft to go, we'll step aside.
Here on your home for high school football.

It's your home for high school football Moose Country one
six point seven.
Speaker 2 (02:03:02):
Welcome back, everybody. It'll be third and ten here for
Spring Valley as they've got the ball in the red zone,
trying to ice this one away with their twenty nine
to eight lead.
Speaker 3 (02:03:12):
No Sports and dan Zions alongside you.
Speaker 4 (02:03:15):
Yeah, and it's been a pretty slow fourth quarter after
what felt like a breeze of a third quarter. Now
it's still eight minutes to go in this one, third
and ten, and I'm goin to see what Spring Valley's got.
Speaker 2 (02:03:25):
Cooking as for the Cardinals, Spring excuse me for the
Spring Valley Cardinals, I should say. Weeder comes in, he
is under centered, three backs in the backfield there for
Spring Valley. They hand the ball off to you guessed,
Asher Turner. Turner running to his left up to the ten,
flagged down maybe to the nine before he's taken down.
And we'll have to see what the call is on
(02:03:46):
that penalty.
Speaker 4 (02:03:47):
Yeah, they may have caught that receiver on that outside
edge with another holding penalty.
Speaker 2 (02:03:51):
Another holding penalty, That one goes against Spring Valley, and
uh so the Cardinals will back up once again again.
That stops the clock once again. There is uh seven
fifty seven left to go here in this fourth quarter.
Speaker 4 (02:04:08):
Yeah, and I mean that's the thing, I mean, just
getting any of that jersey you're not gonna get called
for a holding when you're going underneath the shoulder pads
and holding him right there. But so far, I've been
seeing so much jersey pulling from this Cardinals defense and
offense that has just been it's obvious they're just gonna
call it every single time.
Speaker 2 (02:04:26):
Just now it will be, uh, third and looks like twenty.
I think they're gonna call it third and eighteen from
the twenty five yard line and uh, it's a fake
handoff to turner. Winger keeps it, can't do anything with it,
and maybe gets back to the line at about the
twenty five before he stopped. That does bring up fourth down.
(02:04:47):
Oh and another flag that one in late.
Speaker 5 (02:04:49):
That looked like an unsportsman like a number sixty.
Speaker 3 (02:04:51):
Four out there. What did he do?
Speaker 4 (02:04:53):
I don't know. I didn't see it. I looked up
and saw flag flying.
Speaker 2 (02:04:57):
Yeah, it will be an unsportsmanlike conduct against Spring Valley.
That one decline, So will be fourth and eighteen, fourth
and nineteen.
Speaker 3 (02:05:06):
I think they're gonna call.
Speaker 4 (02:05:07):
Actually, they're not going to decline it. They're gonna still
back them up.
Speaker 2 (02:05:11):
So they will accept it. I thought I saw the
signal for I.
Speaker 5 (02:05:15):
Thought I saw it too, but I guess I guess not.
Speaker 2 (02:05:19):
I'm sure the officials know more about officiating than we do.
Speaker 3 (02:05:22):
But yeah, I think we got them. Being on broadcasting,
I think we do too.
Speaker 5 (02:05:25):
I think we're doing pretty well.
Speaker 2 (02:05:27):
So it'll be from the thirty nine yard line. The
line to gain is at about the eight third and
thirty four third and yeah, thirty four according to that scoreboard.
I'm to our right. What do you have on the
play sheet for third and thirty four? Here is Spring
Valley comes to the line.
Speaker 4 (02:05:45):
Honestly, screenplays for me are probably go to. But really,
if you want to try and test the arm strength
of winger, I would, especially against the Kolpax defense.
Speaker 5 (02:05:54):
That is kind of scrambling right now.
Speaker 2 (02:05:55):
Wingers in the shotgun to wide receivers far side. Instead,
he's looking near side, throwing down the field and just
a little bit too tall for Jake Hannick to wanted
that ball towards the goal line, could not haul it down.
Speaker 3 (02:06:08):
It'll be a turnover.
Speaker 2 (02:06:10):
On downs and coal Fax will take over here with
six fifty three left to play this season.
Speaker 4 (02:06:16):
Yeah, and that's just you just can't have that if
you're Spring Valley because I mean that backs you up
so far fourth and thirty four, most of those off
of penalties that really could have been cleaned up beforehand,
and especially number sixty four, getting that unsportsmanlike, I mean,
you cannot have that, especially when you're about.
Speaker 5 (02:06:33):
To go into playoffs. You just can.
Speaker 4 (02:06:34):
That's just unacceptable to have an unsportsmanlike especially in this
part of the game.
Speaker 5 (02:06:38):
Six to fifty three to go.
Speaker 2 (02:06:40):
We'll be first and ten from their own thirty nine
yard line here for Colefax as under center as their
quarterback Austin Peterson. No, it looks like it's going to
be a little keeper there on first down and that
one up to about the forty six forty seven somewhere
in there. As Peterson running forward, you know student by
forward that works.
Speaker 3 (02:07:01):
Yeah, it does.
Speaker 4 (02:07:02):
I mean we see it with the tush push all
the time with the Philadelphia Eagles, and look at that.
It gained them almost six yards there on that play.
It looks a little bit closer than second and well
now they're changing it to an eight yard game.
Speaker 3 (02:07:12):
Looks like eight to me.
Speaker 2 (02:07:14):
Second and two here after the keeper from Peterson, three
wide receivers toward the far sideline, it'll be a pitch
Wall back in the game. He's running to his left
flag down, but Walls got the first down up past
the forty five and out of bounds. And now we're
gonna have to see what that flag is. And you know,
we're really gonna have to see if these two teams
can go two or three plays without having that yellow
(02:07:36):
laundry on the field.
Speaker 4 (02:07:38):
Honestly, like at this point of the At this point
of the game too, we've seen so many penalty flags
on both teams, a lot more on Spring Valley, especially
in this fourth quarter with so many outrageous, uh, outrageous
things going on out there. But just need to clean
it up on both sides. And it's been really an
(02:07:58):
issue for both teams backing the up when they have
something going there and Wall again almost a first down,
just backed up again.
Speaker 2 (02:08:05):
Ten yard penalty for cole Fax makes it second and twelve.
Little screen pass for Paulus, but that one batted down
well behind the line.
Speaker 3 (02:08:13):
Did you see that as Brunner?
Speaker 5 (02:08:15):
That was Bruner. He definitely got up on that one.
Speaker 4 (02:08:17):
I mean absolutely bear claude that thing out of the sky.
And he's one of their better pass rushers. Too on
the season, just doing super well for them, and he's
had chances this game to really make a difference, and
he really hasn't has stamped his name on this as
a good defender for them.
Speaker 2 (02:08:35):
I'll turn this into third and twelve here for Colefax.
It'll be Grant Damo in at quarterback and he's under
heavy pressure. He's just gonna have to dirt that one.
Speaker 7 (02:08:44):
Hey.
Speaker 2 (02:08:45):
That one lands at about the thirty five incompletion, brings
up fourth and twelve.
Speaker 4 (02:08:49):
And it's like almost as if they whenever they see
Grant dam in the game, they almost all out blitz
him right there because every single time it seems like
he's being chased. He's one of these the better thrower
than Austin Peterson, but Peterson is a very mobile quarterback
and offers a lot there. They have a bunch of
different uh, bunch of different packages.
Speaker 3 (02:09:09):
They roll both out into six h two left to play.
Speaker 2 (02:09:12):
It'll be fourth and eleven as back to pass once again,
is throws this one.
Speaker 3 (02:09:17):
Highe ut Field. God, it's pet at the thirty hold cow.
Speaker 2 (02:09:23):
Brady Lamb pray in a rainbow out of the sky
on a higharchic pass.
Speaker 3 (02:09:30):
You know, the saying.
Speaker 2 (02:09:31):
The old saying is if you have two quarterbacks who
have none of them, don't tell that to Damo and Peterson.
Speaker 3 (02:09:37):
No, No, they've been.
Speaker 5 (02:09:38):
Really at it today Easton Wedland. A great reception for
the freshman. What a great job there.
Speaker 4 (02:09:45):
He's been leading this team on the offense in reception
and they're gonna.
Speaker 2 (02:09:48):
Go quick, cold facts, going quick, Demo back under pressure,
he steps up in the pocket, throws nearly intercepted along
the far side.
Speaker 3 (02:09:59):
Man. Oh, it's just had.
Speaker 2 (02:10:02):
No chance to uh get any sort of comfort in
that in that pocket. Second down.
Speaker 4 (02:10:09):
No, they've brought some heavy pressure against him every single
time he's back there. I mean for good reason. He's
a great he's a great passer back there, especially with
some time, and we saw it there with Wetland. He
didn't even have time on that throw. He still completed it.
Speaker 2 (02:10:22):
And completion brings up second and ten five forty left
to play cole Fax as to mow back to pass
he's hit as he throws in that one flutters and
completed about the ten as he was looking for Easton Wetland.
Speaker 5 (02:10:35):
He had a step on Hannick as well too.
Speaker 4 (02:10:38):
That could have if he had a chance to really
set himself and throw that could have been a touchdown.
Speaker 2 (02:10:44):
Spring Valley's defense just not giving him that chance. Clock
stopped at five thirty seven left to play here in
this one, as once again Spring Valley leading coal Fax
by a score of twenty nine to eight. Well be
three wide receivers to the left, one man all alone
to the right here for the Vikings back to pass
his demo.
Speaker 3 (02:11:02):
He's gonna roll out to his left. He's got some.
Speaker 2 (02:11:04):
Green grass still keeping the eyes downfield, and now he
is taken down as looks like he gains about two
or three on the run up past the twenty. It
looks like and out of bounds, but it will bring
up fourth and about seven.
Speaker 5 (02:11:21):
Yeah, and that.
Speaker 4 (02:11:22):
Is just a good thing to get any kind of
yardage on that play. He had maybe a receiver downfield
for a little bit of time, but.
Speaker 3 (02:11:29):
Not very much.
Speaker 5 (02:11:30):
Probably should have just ran off with.
Speaker 2 (02:11:31):
That football fourth and seven demo, rolling to his right,
looking downfield, firing incomplete diving attempt there as it looked
like it was Parzik trying to get to that football
and he couldn't.
Speaker 3 (02:11:46):
It will be.
Speaker 2 (02:11:47):
Now first down here for Spring Valley. After that turnover
on downs, and looks like the Cardinals will be content
to try and run off as much as this clock
as they can.
Speaker 4 (02:11:57):
Oh yeah, absolutely, And I mean they had some good
block there on that edge, but just could not set
his feet well enough to get that ball out to
uh Parzik there and just another misque and incompletion there
that another turnover on downs right as they're right on
the precipice of scoring. I mean, if they could continue
these drives without the Spring Valley defense just completely obliterating them,
(02:12:21):
they probably could have kept this thing close. But this
defense has been so hard on them, it's been it's
been fun to watch.
Speaker 5 (02:12:28):
Honestly.
Speaker 3 (02:12:29):
Looks like we're.
Speaker 2 (02:12:30):
Gonna get a time out ahead of this one four
point fifty seven left to play, and we'll step aside
here on your home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (02:12:44):
This is Friday night lights on Moose Country one oh
six point seven. Let's use a football metaphor in your home.
You're the quarterback.
Speaker 15 (02:12:53):
Now, who would you want in your front mind? Ass
Balt No, the fearsome poor brain hail wind and snow
and blow right threw an aspall line for real protection.
Speaker 8 (02:13:03):
You want be Yorks fran metal roofing.
Speaker 3 (02:13:06):
Because hit after hit, year after year.
Speaker 15 (02:13:09):
B Yorks Rand Metal Roofing will keep you protected with
a fifty year non pro rated and transferable warranty two
three seven twenty six seventy Eight's.
Speaker 1 (02:13:20):
Your home for high school football, Moose Country one oh
six point seven.
Speaker 3 (02:13:25):
Welcome back, everybody.
Speaker 2 (02:13:26):
We're in the home stretcher this ballgame and indeed the
regular season. As here comes Spring Valley trying to close
this one out first intend at their own eighteen as
they lead Colfax twenty nine to eight, four fifty seven
left to play here in this one on Noah Schwartz
and alongside is dan Zims. Here comes the Spring Valley Cardinals.
(02:13:49):
As it'll be Winger under center, quick little handoff that
time is I got to assume that was Turner up
past the twenty to about the twenty two. It was
Ash Turner there running back.
Speaker 4 (02:14:02):
Some of the younger players in for Colefax as well too,
seeing some names that I haven't seen before. And two
of the bigger guys out there on the field, and
Cook and and Meedermeier are back out and sitting on
the sideline.
Speaker 2 (02:14:16):
Four and a half minutes left to play. Here is
Colefax really no chance here in this one. It's a
three score game with just under four and a half
minutes left to go, as Winger will be under center,
three backs in the backfield for him and the Cardinals.
Oh my god, Winger with the handoff is running forward.
Speaker 3 (02:14:39):
That is Blake Benkston again and Bankston up to.
Speaker 2 (02:14:42):
About the thirty yard line. Looks like that'll be enough
for a Spring Valley first down.
Speaker 4 (02:14:47):
Yeah, and just some great blocking on that outside edge.
Spring Valley just being able to find those gaps and
find some holes for their.
Speaker 3 (02:14:54):
Running backs to get through.
Speaker 4 (02:14:55):
It's been really their bread and butler throughout much of
this game, and they continue it on trying to finish
out this game strong and if they can get some
little bit of luck on that Saturday selection, hopefully make
it into the playoffs as well.
Speaker 2 (02:15:09):
Looks like they will finish above five hundred a strong
season for this Spring Valley team, three forty five in counting,
as they've got it first and ten right about their
own thirty. Winger under center here for Spring Valley. This
will be another handoff running right well, he's got room,
nobody's gonna catch him. Blake Bankston Well, he's got two
(02:15:31):
guys there, thirty for the twenty and down at the
ten out of bounds on a big run for the
big man, Blake Bankston.
Speaker 5 (02:15:42):
Well that might be a top for the game.
Speaker 3 (02:15:44):
There, water run by Blake Bankston.
Speaker 4 (02:15:47):
I mean, once he got past those linebackers, it was
just it was almost gone.
Speaker 5 (02:15:51):
It was almost gone.
Speaker 4 (02:15:52):
But a great job by the Colfax defenders to continue
with the play.
Speaker 2 (02:15:57):
Spring Valley looked like they were content to run out
the clock, but a huge gain from Bankston has them
in the red zone and looks like they're going to
oh with three seventeen and counting left. I don't know
if they can eat up that much clock with this
few yards left to go, it'd be a bit.
Speaker 4 (02:16:15):
Of a miracle, honestly, But we'll see if they can
get a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (02:16:19):
Here it go a long way.
Speaker 2 (02:16:20):
Wingers under center, three backs in the backfield here for
Spring Valley. First and ten and the balls on the
thirteen yard line, and off goes to Bankston again, Bankston
pressing forward up past the ten, nearly to the five
before he is taken down. I think they're gonna spot
him at about the eight. Is that we'll bring up
(02:16:41):
second down now two minutes and forty seconds left to go.
Speaker 4 (02:16:47):
Yeah, and with only a few minutes left in this game,
Colfax season's gonna end more than likely winless without a
major complete collapse. But I don't know right now for
this Colfax team, it's just about kind of finishing strong
here and not allowing another touchdown with two seventeen to
(02:17:08):
go as they're trying to run it down and not
really run up the score here.
Speaker 2 (02:17:14):
I'm not sure it is mathematically possible with that twenty
one point deficit here right at two minutes left is
Spring Valley will take a time out to stop the
clock as they were a little late going to the
line trying to take up every second they could. But
really a strong performance here for Spring Valley, not just tonight,
but all season long.
Speaker 4 (02:17:34):
Here for the Cardinals, oh absolutely, And I mean just
a great job from not only their offensive line, but
you can talk about their skill players all you want.
Mason Winger has really held strong in the pocket. He's
been under dress a lot of the times throughout this season,
but he's been able to find he's a.
Speaker 5 (02:17:49):
Really mobile quarterback.
Speaker 3 (02:17:50):
I think people take.
Speaker 5 (02:17:51):
That for granted.
Speaker 4 (02:17:51):
We saw it a bit he ran for twenty to
set up Spring Valley for a field goal early in
the first half.
Speaker 3 (02:17:57):
And I don't think people kind.
Speaker 4 (02:17:59):
Of underestimate that kind of speed that he has and
the kind of mobility he can do, because he's just
going to be That is just kind of the thing
that Spring Valley needs for the playoffs. They need a
quarterback that's going to be able to roll out and
kind of do it all because when they match up
against someone, more than likely it's going to be a
higher seat if they make it that far.
Speaker 2 (02:18:19):
So it will now be second and five, two minutes
and six seconds left to go here in this one
for Spring Valley, and Spring Valley of course up by
twenty one. The ball is at the eight yard line
around second and five, it will be a handoff. Looks
like that one goes to Land and Forrester and Forrester
(02:18:40):
finds his way into the end zone for another Spring
Valley touchdown. Is that will make this a thirty five
to eight game right at two minutes left to play.
Speaker 4 (02:18:49):
Yeah, and there we go with another touchdown here for
the Spring Valley team. And just the running game has
been absolutely excellent for them all night long. Just being
able to find the holes and right in. That's another
touchdown for a different running back. Actually for this game.
Speaker 2 (02:19:06):
Pretty incredible. Here is caning. We'll be on there for
the extra point. Here on the pah it's Sam right
at two minutes left. Snap is good, the hold is down,
the kick is up and through. It will be thirty
six to eight, two minutes left, and we'll be right
back here after this.
Speaker 3 (02:19:24):
On your home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (02:19:27):
This is Friday night lights on Moose Country one oh
six point seven.
Speaker 7 (02:19:32):

Hundreds of patients freeing themselves from the physical and mental
trauma of a life limited by poor oral health. If
you are ready to move beyond the days of hiding
your smile, called Affordable Dentures for a free consultation seven
point five five to five, one zero two zero.
Speaker 1 (02:20:02):
It's your home for high school football Moose Country one
zero six point seven.
Speaker 3 (02:20:07):
Welcome back.
Speaker 2 (02:20:08):
It is thirty six to eight, two minutes left to
go here in the irregular season. Noah Schwartz and Dan
Zion's alongside you, as this has been a great performance
here for Spring Valley over cole Fix.
Speaker 3 (02:20:20):
Yes it has.
Speaker 5 (02:20:20):
This has been absolutely a trouncing.
Speaker 3 (02:20:23):
They It was close.
Speaker 4 (02:20:25):
It was close in that first half of only a
twenty two to eight lead. Cold Fax gone off hot out.
Speaker 5 (02:20:30):
Of the gates, but just could not follow up with
that and got to give credit where Cred's due. That
Spring Valley defense closed down a lot of great drives
by Colefax. Just a good job by the defensive coordinator
and as well as the defensive skill players for the
Spring Valley team.
Speaker 2 (02:20:46):
Cannig will kick it away moving from right to left.
It's a high deep kick that one fielded inside the
ten to about the five as it looks like that'll
be York. York running near side of the twenty five
cuts it up field at the thirty to the thirty
five from taking out of bounds at the thirty six
here for Colefax, Well, they'll have one more chance with
the football this season.
Speaker 3 (02:21:07):
They will.
Speaker 4 (02:21:07):
And I think if you're this Colfax seniors, you want
to try and get that final touchdown here of your
of your high school career. Not really sure where they're
gonna go after this, whether it's whether it's the next
sport that you got, or maybe they're looking forward to
potentially going to a college sport as well. But for
(02:21:28):
these seniors, I mean getting a little final touchdown.
Speaker 5 (02:21:30):
On the season.
Speaker 4 (02:21:31):
I mean that always, that always brings a smile to
your face as you're trying to end this, end this
tumultuous season.
Speaker 2 (02:21:37):
A minute fifty two left to play here is it
will be first and ten here from their own thirty
six here for Colefax, looks like it's Peterson. He's back
to pass Throse lateral and that one is complete to Zach.
Speaker 3 (02:21:52):
Lirimo.
Speaker 2 (02:21:53):
Lirimo wearing number sixty two, one of the big men
gets a reception and gets a couple of yards there.
It'll be I think only a yard second and nine.
Speaker 4 (02:22:02):
You gotta love the excitement, even though down thirty six
to eight. Good to see a big man getting another
catch out there. Zach Limo, couple of yards they're not
really actually not really any yards at all, but got
his first reception of the season.
Speaker 2 (02:22:16):
So they will say it is no gain for Limo there,
but maybe a puric.
Speaker 3 (02:22:22):
Game that time.
Speaker 5 (02:22:23):
Yeah, yeah, we'll call it that.
Speaker 2 (02:22:25):
Something that we'll figure out how to spell it too.
His second and ten clack stopped at a minute forty
five left to play this regular season. Peterson is in
the shotgun. It looks like they're going to spread him
out right out wide and it will be a direct
snap to the running back as that was Wall lost
the football, but they're gonna say he was down by
(02:22:46):
contact up to about the forty two yard line.
Speaker 4 (02:22:50):
Lost the football and lost his shoe too, and the
process of that. But they're trying to move quickly here
and get something else on the board before the end
of this game.
Speaker 2 (02:22:58):
Minute twenty five and counting. It will be third down
and about four it looks like they're gonna call it
third and three. It's Colfax still in the huddle looking
to figure out what they're doing here. Clock inside of
a minute and ten seconds left to go.
Speaker 5 (02:23:17):
Yeah, and kind of moving.
Speaker 4 (02:23:18):
They got back up to the line kind of quickly,
but then kind of slowed it down. And now we're
seeing some more younger players step out there as Grant
them makes his way onto the field.
Speaker 2 (02:23:27):
Demo will be the quarterback here and now we'll get
a time out here for Colefax here as they stop
the clock with fifty five seconds left to go. Is
they just could not get that play in in time.
So we'll keep it here for the time being, and
we'll try and figure out what else we can say
about this game. We don't know where we'll be next week.
(02:23:50):
We don't know who will be covering, We don't know
who Spring Valley will be playing, if they're going to
make it in Oh.
Speaker 5 (02:23:56):
This win definitely goes a long way for them, though.
Speaker 2 (02:23:58):
It certainly does get them up above five hundred. Is
there just fifty five seconds away from being five.
Speaker 4 (02:24:04):
And four this season, and we still need to wait
on the results of the Boycevil Turtle Lake game and
Spring Valley really hoping Boysville can do them a favor
here and knock Turtle Lake down a peg, because if
they can drop them the six and three and Spring
Valley's only at five and four, that makes them look
a lot better on that on that standing sheet and
potentially could catapult them into the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (02:24:25):
But obviously gotta wait until Saturday.
Speaker 2 (02:24:29):
Absolutely it will be third down and three fifty five
seconds left to go here, it looks like third and
maybe a long three here for cole Fax. Stam thought
he was under center. Now he's back in the shotgun.
Three wide receivers on the far sideline as Tom, we'll
pitch it out a little bit behind the running back
and oh, that's a fumble and that one will be
(02:24:52):
recovered by spring Valley with forty six point nine seconds
to go. Could not quite get the number on that
running back, but after the result of that play, maybe
that's for the better.
Speaker 4 (02:25:02):
Yeah, he kind of got lost in the thick of
it out there, and the ball just absolutely looked like
it exploded out from his hands and.
Speaker 5 (02:25:11):
Just completely went flying.
Speaker 4 (02:25:13):
But either way, a good recovery there by Number twenty
five landon Forrester, who also had the touchdown to really
ice this game. So a good fourth quarter from him tonight,
but this one will definitely ice it. As the freshman
defense kind of comes out there for the Colfax team.
Speaker 2 (02:25:29):
Colefax has their defense out there forty six. I think
they'll call it forty seven seconds left to go, forty
six point nine.
Speaker 3 (02:25:37):
That's how rounding.
Speaker 2 (02:25:38):
Usually works, as it will be first and ten and
nothing more. Than one or two kneel downs here for
Spring Valley and that we'll put them on their way
to a five and four record. His winger takes the
knee and the clock once.
Speaker 4 (02:25:54):
Yeah, and I mean Colefax a lot to say about
this season, but definitely a lot better of a season
and then last year. Obviously you don't get your first
winning since twenty nineteen. But as they take that final
snap and kneel down as less than twenty eight seconds
ago in the high five or the handshake line start
to form.
Speaker 3 (02:26:13):
Yep, So that will do it.
Speaker 2 (02:26:15):
The rest of the time running off of the clock
now just a mere formality, and your final score in
this one is it'll be Spring Valley thirty six and
cole Fax eight. Strong showing for these two teams, really,
especially for Spring Valley as they get back to five
and four for their record, and they will hope to
(02:26:38):
hear their name called come playoff time next week.
Speaker 4 (02:26:40):
Absolutely, and I mean this goes a long way. Obviously,
they've got some stuff to clean up. They had a
lot of miscues, a lot of penalties that really should
have been avoided. But all in all, I mean, the
explosiveness from their skill players were on full display tonight.
Colefax had a really hard time stopping Asher Turner, and
that was really the guy that.
Speaker 5 (02:27:00):
They needed to stop tonight.
Speaker 4 (02:27:01):
But not only that, they got contributions from Sam Schmidt,
who had an absolute monster gain on the first play
on one of the first plays for the Spring Valley offense.
But for Colefax, the defense really held strong throughout that
first half, making it only a twenty two to eight
lead going into halftime. But again, you need your offense
(02:27:22):
to step up in a big way when you can
get a solid defensive pressure out there against such a
strong offensive team like Spring Valley.
Speaker 3 (02:27:30):
As soon as you start to lose.
Speaker 4 (02:27:32):
That momentum though, it just kind of slips out, and
the grasp.
Speaker 5 (02:27:35):
Is you'll lose grasp on that.
Speaker 2 (02:27:38):
Absolutely well said there, And we'll have your postgame show
right after this here at your home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (02:27:47):

Speaker 2 (02:30:01):
Welcome back everybody here in your postgame show. My name
is Noah Schwartz alongside Dan Zon's and we have gone
Finally a decisive victory for Spring Valley as they beat
the Colfax Vikings by a score of thirty six to
eight here in the final game of the regular season.
Spring Valley doing a good job to sneak into the
to sneak above five hundred and get into that postseason conversation.
(02:30:24):
Of course, we'll know more about that in the coming days.
But Dan, it was a fun one. I'll let you
wrap it up from here.
Speaker 4 (02:30:33):
I mean, yeah, it was a fun one, but just
couldn't find any kind of offensive ridden towards the end.
Did Colefax. But Spring Valley, on one hand, both teams
couldn't really figure it out in that second quarter, but
after that twenty two to eight lead in that half
at the start of the first end of the first half,
they just completely took it right along the way. And
(02:30:56):
Spring Valley just doing what Spring Valley does best and
just overwhelmed teams with their rushing.
Speaker 5 (02:31:02):
Capabilities out there.
Speaker 4 (02:31:04):
They were on a couple of game skid there for
a bit, but this really knocks them off that losing trajectory.
They really couldn't lose to Colfax tonight if they wanted
any chance to make to the playoffs. Now they really
do tonight, And just a great job by the blocking.
I can't say enough about the Spring Valley blocking because.
Speaker 5 (02:31:20):
It wasn't that great in the first half.
Speaker 4 (02:31:22):
But then as soon as they came out in the
second half, that was the adjustment they made. They made
sure that Colefax wasn't gonna steamroll and stop them every
single step of the way there.
Speaker 5 (02:31:30):
They wanted to get Ashro Turner or out in space,
and that's exactly what they did. And man did he
play well. But it wasn't just him. It was quite
literally a bunch of different Spring Valley skill players that
really made a difference out here, including Mason Winger, who
had some really clutch moments tonight.
Speaker 4 (02:31:47):
He didn't have many passes, but he found a way
to kind of manage the game, and that's what you
really need from an experienced quarterback like Winger, who I
keep saying it even though he has a six to
seven touchdown to interception show with a only six hundred
yards on the season, he really does feel like a
capable quarterback for the Spring Valley team. And I'm excited
(02:32:07):
to see what he could do potentially in the playoffs,
but not only that, I'm excited to see what he
could do next season. I think he could take that
next step forward. So obviously, as we wrap up this
season for Colefax. You got a lot of highlights for
Colefax too.
Speaker 5 (02:32:20):
They had some good points here and there, had the
chance to.
Speaker 4 (02:32:23):
Really keep this one close, but just could not finish
a drive. And that is the inexperience of this team
at work here. As for Spring Valley, man, I mean,
whoever has to match up against the Spring Valley team,
you better watch out because that could be an upset
waiting to happen, especially if you let ash Re Turner
run free out there.
Speaker 2 (02:32:41):
Absolutely well, it certainly will be. We'll keep our eye
on Spring Valley of course, as we have all season.
Speaker 3 (02:32:48):
For Colefax.
Speaker 2 (02:32:49):
A congratulations on a hard fought, if not disappointing season
for them, but really not a whole lot more than that.
We will be back with you next week. We're not
sure where. We're pretty sure. In fact, we're pretty much
certain it will be next Friday night at seven right
here on the Moves. So for all those folks of
you at home, you won't have to figure it out.
Speaker 3 (02:33:11):
We'll figure it out for you. Yeah, we'll figure it out.
Speaker 2 (02:33:14):
We'll let you know, of course, you know, Twitter and websites,
all sorts of things, keeping you posted I'm sure there
will be plenty of information available for you, but just
like to tell you that we throughout the course of
the regular season here. As the regular season comes to
an end tonight, I don't want to speak for Dan,
(02:33:35):
but I'm sure he's got the same sentiment as me.
Speaker 3 (02:33:38):
As it is.
Speaker 2 (02:33:40):
It has been a privilege to bring these games to you,

Speaker 5 (02:34:02):
Very well said.
Speaker 4 (02:34:03):
No, very well said, and that is exactly what I
That's exactly what I was about to say too. You
took the words right out of my fact, completely took
all the words out.
Speaker 5 (02:34:11):
No, I'm just kidding, plagiarizing here.
Speaker 4 (02:34:15):
