(00:01):
Brob Ender, Wisconsin. We welcomeyou into a Level two Division seven WIA
football playoff matchup. It's the numbertwo seeded Edgar Wildcats, sit nine and
one on the season, taking onthe number three seeded in Division seven and
in Level two, the Oak ClareRegis Ramblers at eight and two on the
season, a six and one recordin the Clover Belt, winners of the
Clover Belt taking on the winners ofthe Marywood Conference. Peaknouted and Dan Zon's

(00:25):
with you here tonight on Classic Rockninety two one, Rock nine two one
dot com and iHeartRadio, and ourproducer back in the studio is Sean Saka
Dan. This is an exciting matchup, as it always is, and when
we talked a little bit about itlast week when it was Level one against
some one plumb city for this regiousteam. Now things get real here.
You all see a lot of upsetsand things or not I shouldn't say blowout
games, or you see a lotof blowout games in the first level.

(00:47):
You get to level two, levelthree, all of a sudden, you
know, the rubber meets the road. These teams are closely matched, and
I think that's what we're going tosee here tonight, two very evenly matched
teams. Yeah, these are themarquee matchups you'll live for. And especially
with this kind of weather out here, I mean, we're really feeling that
Wisconsin. That really was real Wisconsinclimbing. But yeah, like you said,
these are two very similar teams, especially with the how they run their

(01:07):
offense out there. They're both verymuch so rushing teams. Both have over
both have over twenty five hundred rushingyards per team, and both are not
really much of a passing squad butcan throw the ball and have playmakers down
the field. Yeah, they giveme a fun matchup. Yeah, they
certainly are. Again the rushing attackswe know about obviously for eu Claire Regis,
it all kind of starts with theEverett Tait, Chase Kaska, Brandon

(01:30):
Albi and and Andrews. They've beengreat in the running game and as you
mentioned, a team that gets twohundred and twenty seven yards on the ground
per game. Jerry Sims, who'sin his forty ninth season as the head
coach of Edgar he's four sixty sixand ninety two, leads the way here
for the Edgar Wildcats tonight, theyaverage two hundred and fifty two point eight
yards per game rushing the ball.Carter but is the guy to watch,

(01:53):
certainly in the run game. Hehas over a thousand yards rushing in twenty
one touchdowns. Maybe not as manyweapons as he just has, but they
haven't really needed them this season. Not only that, I know we just
talked about the running game, butboy, this defense. They have not
given up a point since Week twoof the regular season, eight straight games
of shutout football. I mean, that's just unheard of stuff, Dan.
So for Regis to get something onthe ground, to get some kind of

(02:15):
offense going tonight, if they cando it early, boy, they got
to feel good. Because this SegRegteam's defense looks really, really good.
Yeah, and I mean fourteen pointstotal all season longer, that's that is
absolutely insane, and that's something youdon't see, especially on this level.
And just the fact that they wereable to continue going on with that and
con continue to have that great defensivepresence. They've had eleven interceptions on the

(02:38):
season, thirteen total sacks here's somethingdifferent, eight forced fumbles eight. Yeah,
they are jarring everything loose out there. I mean, you look at
overall they give up on average eightysix yards per game. That's overall per
game. I mean this team isan absolute defensive juggernaut. So Regis obviously
they'll come out I'm sure doing whatthey know how to do, the inverted
double wing. They'll try to getthose running moving downhill. But getting past

(03:01):
some of the size that Edgar hasup front is certainly gonna be a big
piece of big key. Here tonight, we'll talk about more keys of the
game and much much more coming upagain. It is the New York stram
Metal Roofing pregame Show'll have the worstGalla plumbing and heating lineups coming up in
just a moment. But first, after the break, we'll have the head
coach of the Regis Ramblers, BrianBrunner. He'll join us right after this
here on Classic Rock ninety two toone, the game continues next. This

(03:24):
is so clear high school football. On Classic Rock ninety two to one.
I was down on my love.My car was a piece of Gluckily I
found Cotto King. Auto King shouldbe that they truly cand I went down

(03:45):

of the lot. Yeah, AutoKing is the only way to go.

and Level two of the playoffs andCoach Brenner from Regis joins us. Coach

(04:31):
appreciate taking the time as always withus, and I know you're obviously focused
on tonight's game, but let's justtalk a little bit about Level one.
For a Level one performance against someonePlump City, I got imagine you're pretty
happy with how the guys came outplayed. It was kind of a complete
all around game for your guys ina time where you needed it. Yeah,
we're pleased with the outcome of thegame and how we played and how

(04:54):
we prepared and I think the improvementthat we've been able to straight and accomplished
so to speak, throughout the yearwas evident in that level one game against
someone. It's fun to watch that. Certainly, it's gonna be fun to
watch play against nigger team tonight, who obviously kind of hangs our hat on
the defensive side of the ball.We know about sort of the scoreless streak

(05:15):
and all that kind of thing.Do you approach a team like that any
differently or is it just sort of, Hey, let's play our game and
if we play our game, wefeel like good things can happen. Yeah,
we got nothing but respect for theseguys. We've went against them a
few times through the years. Wealso scrimmage them every year. So as
far as a small school program goesthere as good as it gets, and

(05:38):
we're honored to be in the gamewith them. At the same time,
we're going to give them our bestshot, and we've prepared hard. We've
had a good week of practice, and we really believe in our kids that,
you know, if we do whatwe're supposed to do, I think
we can be in the game. What's going to be that message to your
guys, you know, as theyhead out to the field tonight, what's
the big, big point that you'regoing to try to emphasize with them,
especially on a night where we've hadwhat a ton of rain in the area.

(05:58):
I'm sure ball security is going toa big, big piece of tonight.
Yeah, you gotta hang onto theball and you got to find a
way to get some first dollars. You know, we can't have possessions where
we go three and out. Theykind of feed off of that and that
gets their offense going even better. Then, So we've got to be able
to run some clock and I thoughtGlennan said he was able to do that
a little bit last week against himand that's how they got to halftime and

(06:19):
it was still a close game.So we got to be able to get
some first dollars and then defensively,we can't give up any big plays.
You know, they've got some bigplay threats. Starts with number twenty one.
We got to do a great jobof tackling him, and then we
got to keep the quarterback contained. Those are their big play threats, as
well as Number nine in the passinggame. All right, coach, Well,

(06:40):
we appreciating the time with us Hopefullywe get to a chance to chat
with you next week as well.Good luck tonight, Thank you Pete as

(07:48):
the pregame show on Classic Rock ninetytwo to one, and welcome on back
once again here to Edgar, Wisconsin. It is level two of the Division
seven WIA State Ball Playoffs. PeakLutes and Dan Zon's with you here as
part of our New York Stram MetalRoofing pregame show, getting set for kickoff
here between Regis and Edgar, andagain as the matchup that's happened a number

(08:09):
of times in the playoffs as wellfor Oakler, Regis are making their twenty
first playoff appearance overall fifty nine andseventeen all time in the playoffs. They
won the state title in two thousandand three, twenty sixteen, twenty twenty
two, runners up in four ofthose twenty one appearances as well for Edgar.
I mean the list goes on.I was just inside right by the
basketball court as well. I meanthere's gold ball after gold ball after gold

(08:33):
ball. They win quite a bithere. They won state titles in nineteen
seventy nine, ninety two, ninetynine, two thousand and one, two
thousand and nine, twenty ten, twenty sixteen and D seven when Regis won
it in D six and twenty sixteenas well. This is a These are
two really storied programs, a lotof success, and when you get two
teams dan that have a lot ofsuccess on the field meeting, I mean
each team wants it right, theyknow that, obviously, the alumni base,

(08:56):
everybody out there who's really striving andwanting these two teams to play.
You grow up in a program that'sgot that kind of excellence, that kind
of tradition, and you meet inthis situation. It's fun and I mean
you could even see it out therewith the pre games. I mean both
teams came out yelling and screaming andhaving a great time. They didn't even
care how cold it was. Imean we did, but they definitely didn't.

(09:16):
But there are two really great, really historic teams that arga this is
gonna be a great matchup between thesetwo. It's gonna be fun to watch,
and it's gonna just be a greatgame all around. And if these
two keep up the excitement, keepup this passion that they've had throughout this
season, we're in for a greatone here. Again. This is the
NewYork shrem mental roofing pregame show aswe look at the worst Galla lineups for

(09:39):
both teams. Oape Layer Regis onthe offensive side of the ball will have
Lucas Kovacevich Peyton sembling, Tayler Berhokplanning and sembling, and Tyler Galing up
on the offensive line. We expectBradon allb, Chase Costka, and ever
Take to be the three backs thatstart tonight. The question will be who
starts at the tight end spots.Alex Shula was coming off an injury,
got the punt last week, butthey didn't play much in the field.
Will he be one the tight ends? If not, likely Tyler Galing,

(10:01):
Sawyer Webster as well as George walterstorif they're the other guy's full factor in
there. Owen Weiserberger is a juniorquarterback thirty nine to sixty nine on the
season six hundred eighty one yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions throwing and three
touchdowns on the ground for him.On the other side, for Edgar,
it'll be Tiegan Streit who will bethe man who leaves the way. Carter
Budd is a big running back thatwill watch tonight, brock Mauer will factor

(10:24):
in as a full back. ColbyWeisenberger six hundred and nine yards rushing for
him. Jason Appleback another guy willlook for in Layton. Shoot is the
guy that coach Brenner talked about asa receiver. He's a pretty big threat.
He's a big receiver at six footthree for Division seven. That's awfully
picked and Dan, as we getready for this game between these two squads,

(10:45):
I think he's a guy i'd reallylook for. If they try to
go over the top of this Regisdefense, it's gonna be late and Shoot
gonna be the guy who does it. Oh yeah. And even he also
plays free safety for them as well, and he has been a dominant free
safety at that thirteen total tackles andtwo interceptions, and I mean you just
look at how he's been able tobe such a great playmaker out there,
and with those three hundred and twentyyards that he has had on this offensive

(11:07):
team, they don't barely pass much, but when they do, it's usually
gonna beat to him. He's sucha big target out there. Again,
the Ramblers fans making some noise, there's no visiting stands. If you will
here at Edgar on the other sideof the field, so everybody is lined
up here on the near side wherewe have our press box as well.
Now we know a lot of rainin the area. You can see even

(11:28):
a little bit of puddling on thesidelines where the teams will be. The
field looks like it's held up prettygood. We're talking with some of the
folks there. They said this isthe best of the fields looked at this
point of the playoffs in the lastfew years, at least in recent memory
as well. So we'll see howit all holds up here tonight. Again,
this is a natural grass field, not the field turf, but Carson
Park. With all the rain thatwe've seen the last week, that's gonna

(11:50):
be interesting as well. It's gonnabe about thirty seven thirty eight degrees there
at game time yout to that earlier. This football weather, right football weather
in Wisconsin. We're certainly ready forit, and we hope that you are
as well. The starting lineups continuehere for Edgar, your official sports Tonight's
gream. Greg Ritzitski will be thewhite hat this evening. Patrick Krger,
Kevin Mahalovich, Rodney Marks and StevesCorger are the officials. They're assigned out

(12:16):
of the Lacrosse area here for thisDivision seven game, and obviously honor for
those guys as well to get aplayoff assignment here into level two. The
winner of this game plays Spring Valleyversus Boysmail. That game's actually over on
our sister station, Mouscat Free oneoh six seven. So this is a
good night to have the Ihearted appand the old terrestrial radio going, or

those games here in D seven.Tonight on our iHeart family of network should

(15:01):
opposite game of the one versus fourmatchup the Voice Field versus Spring Valley matchup
over on Moose Country tonight as well. So get us both going and it
should be a fun one here tonightfor these two squads these students have met
over the years in the playoffs.Of course, they had a big matchup
last year that Reis ran away with. And one of the things that this
Edgar team talked about, at leastsome of the media around this team as

(15:24):
well last week talked about Dan isthat a lot of these seniors on this
Edgar team remember getting absolutely blown outof Carson Park last year and Level two
of the playoffs, so they wantrevenge here tonight. The question is,
again we know Regis, are theyas good as they were last year?
We're still trying to figure that out. Probably again, they had a lot
of talent last year, but thisseason ken Egar, maybe get some revenge
tonight. Oh yeah. And youknow, especially back when when I was

(15:46):
in high school, that was definitelythe thing that we always had on our
minds because we got blown out byBoys Bail a while back. And while
everyone says, yeah, you're notthinking about the next matchup forward, You're
always thinking about that next matchup forward. This is pretty much a rival between
these two in the playoffs here, and these two teams so well matchups so
well, matchup so just interestingly ondefense and on offense. It's just gonna

(16:11):
be such a great game to seeit certainly is Harrison Graving will kick things
off level two. Here we godownfield, it goes and it's gonna roll.
Interestingly here down the near sideline. It will be nelt On there at
the twenty three yard line, andyou could already tell some people losing some
footing there. It was Braydon Albywho kind of fell on it down by
the twenty three twenty four yard line. No return is he had to take

(16:33):
a knee to go down and getit. Twenty three yard line is where
Regions will start out. Yeah, maybe just a little bit of nerves down
there on the field too, kindof knowing exactly how important this game is
going forward. I mean, youlose, you're out' That's how this works.
This is how playoffs work. Youlosing your out of this matchup,
and especially against a team like Edgarthat you've already faced last year, you

(16:53):
might not be the same team asyou were before. However, you want
to prove those doubters wrong. Youwant to be out there on the field.
You want to prove that you canmake it to the next level and
make it back to State. Inverteddouble wing near hash, they go twenty
three yard line, here's the pitchshower around the right side, and Chase
Coska is wrapped up in the backfield. And that was read like a book

(17:14):
by I think Layton shoot was aman who shot the gap. It was
either him or it was Kolbe Weisenberger. Regardless, it's a loss of one
back to the twenty two yard line, second and eleven. That was a
heck of a play there. Hesaw that coming from a mile away.
He read that immediately as soon ashe was he was sitting there almost right
in the backfield. Pretty much assoon as that ball was snapped you knew

(17:36):
exactly what was gonna happen with thatinverted wing. Yeah, he's sort of
a line He's almost like a buckposition, right. He can play linebacker.
He also can line up on theline as well. Tate will go
out right. They will give itinstead up the gut to Chase Costka.
Got a couple, but not awhole lot. Maybe the twenty four yard
line, two yard game for Costaup the gut and he'll be third and
nine here for Reds at their owntwenty four yard line. First drive of

(17:57):
this game here in level two.No score between Regis and Edgar, And
I mean this is something that Regisisn't used to seeing right now. They
gashed EPC's defense last weekend, fourhundred and thirty total rushing yards against the
seven rushing touchdowns in that fifty tosixteen blowout. It's gonna be about what
they're gonna be able to do adjustingto this defense that has obviously been very

(18:19):
very stiff up front. Verda doublewing. Weisenberger will give it to Albi
and he is hitting the backfield anddropped maybe a yard on the play.
Preston Dalky was the man who hithim. They'll get to the twenty six
yard line for a game A twofourth and seven for Regis and again they
read every one of those plays. You know, I'm sure Dan that they
don't want to cut a whole lotright with those running backs right now,

(18:40):
because it looks like the footing isn'tgreat out there. They wanted to give
it to Alby and he was literallyhit as the ball was given to him.
Yeah, and that's just great gameplanning by this Edgar defense of coordinator.
And that's exactly what you need inagainst an offense like this, Regis
is they are going to test youon I'm gonna test you on defense all
night long, and if you don'thave a great defensive plan, Shula gets

(19:02):
the punaway here. Sorry Danny interruptyou. Was an awkward fair catch signal
there from Butt and for a minuteI thought it was gonna touch him and
that ends up being down at theforty yard line. So it goes down
as about a thirty four yard puntthere for Shula, and so goodfield position
here for Edgar at their own forty. Yeah, and just not a great
start for the offense. I mean, three straight runs. They had some

(19:23):
really great success against uh Plump againstElmwood Plump City to the other weekend.
But they just haven't been able toget anything going against Edgar so far,
and that's mainly because this defense isjust incredibly crazy. I mean, fourteen
points total all season long, andthey've been very great at just not allowing
any free rushes up the middle, which you can tell is the anticipation on

(19:45):
defense was there on that first drive. So now they started their own forty.
Here does Edgar in the shotgun formation, little handoff to butt running around
the left edge. He is hittingthe backfield and drop dropped right at the
line of scrimmage. Not a lotdoing there for the ball carrier. Let's
see who got him. It mighthave been Tyler Burr. I think out
on that edge apartment was Shula Rather, Shula was their Payton Semmling there as
well. So did to see Shulain on the defensive side of the ball.

(20:07):
He has twenty five total tackles, but that's in limited action with an
injury, and I think he's abig defensive difference maker up on the line
for this Regis team. Oh yeah, absolutely, And I mean I know
we talked a lot about that Edgardefense. But this Regis defense is nothing
to bat your eyes at. They'vebeen historically known for having a good defense
all this time, so we couldreally be in We could really be in

(20:29):
store for a pretty defensive matchup here. And they only give up fifteen points
a game. Here's a fake handoutrolling out on the play action. His
strike stright looking downfield, catch made, but hit immediately at the forty five
forty six yard line. It goesout to butt out of the backfield.
Albie hit him right away, butit is a six yard game. Brings
up third and four here for Edgaron the new year hash mark with nine
to four left to go, firstquarter and no score. Yeah, and

(20:49):
Brandon Alby's one of those defensive playmakers. Not only is he a great running
back for them, but he alsohas ninety tackles on the season as well
as the team high five. Thisuh this pass rush for Regents. If
they're able to get back there, they are going to make you pay.
They have eighteen sacks on the seasonand not even going out to cover the
receiver that's split out to that leftside. They're expecting a run here.

(21:11):
It looks like his reaches and itwill be a delayed handoff up the god
and riding and fighting for the firstout. I don't think he got it.
They're running back there as Jase Applebeck. He looks like he's about a
half a yard short, and theywill wind the clock here, and so
fourth and inches coming up here forthis Edgar team, and it looks like

(21:33):
they're likely going to go for ithere as they I'm sure feel pretty good
about that offensive line of theirs.Oh yeah, definitely. I mean they've
been able to get some good tractionso far. I mean it hasn't been
hasn't amounted to any like huge runningplays so far. However, they have
been able to get some consistent twothree four yard plays and they only need
one right now. Stray gonna havethis one off of the backfield to butt.
He's got the first down in morehits over the fender at the forty,

(21:56):
he's being chased down from behind acrossthe thirty five and gets up near
the twenty six yard line. Inthe end, that's a big time gain
about twenty four to twenty five yardson it, and a first down here
for Edgar. Not only a firstdown on fourth and inches, but a
big gainer and that was grid oldCarter Bock five to ten to or fifteen

(22:18):
pounds senior. He's been the leadingrusher for this Edgar Wildcats team. That's
been so great on that rushing sideof the offense. I mean, one
or sixteen rushing yards really speaks foritself on seven yards of carry and who
can can forget the twenty one touchdowns? I mean that is wild stats.
This is kind of the old whatstraight T formation that they're going with here,

(22:41):
strike goes under under center, handsoff to bunt counters that the twenty
hits a defender and rolls up tothe fifteen yard line. He's close to
first down yardage and it looks likehe's got it and they will move the
chains there on a big time gain. Just like that, Regis skips up
twelve yards on the play and it'sfirst and ten from the Regi's fifteen yard
line. Ever Taite made the stop, but Dan, it's no score.

(23:03):
But Edgar looks really uh, theylook like they're on the front foot here
tonight. Oh yeah, you wouldn'tbe able to tell by the way they're
acting. They seem like it feelslike they're already up fourteen nothing. By
the way, they've been running thisfootball against straight T formation as well.
They'll give it to Butt running leftlooking for a hole, got a decent
one, and they'll push the pileup near the ten yard line. Gets

(23:23):
about half of what he needs onfirst down. See up the middle there
they got press and sembling for thetackle. And about second and five here
for Edgar. And let's see ifthis inside interior defensive line is able to
just tighten up just a little biton King. But I know he is
a big guy to be trying topull down. But you cannot be arm

(23:45):
tackling out there, and I've seenplenty of that so far. This game
is trying to bring that guy downwith only your arms. You need to
put your chest right through him andput him into the turf. Yeah,
I mean that left side of line. Gravenge. Now, they've all been
very good so far. Here's arun up the gut right side this time.
Not as much he's been that leftside of the offensive line where they've
gotten most of the early push here, and Albion on the tackle along with

(24:08):
a couple others, gets about twomaybe three and a third and two coming
up here. For Edgar at aboutthe seven ish yard line, six ten
left to go, first quarter,no score, Regis and Edgar level two
and just some good song running.Honestly, you know you're in small town,
a small town football time when yousee a bonfire going on out past

(24:29):
the fence at the end zone toour right. They're taken in a game
there and warm it up around thefire out there, straight hands it off
to butt up the gun, hitsin the backfield, then he falls forward.
He's close to the first down.I think it was Tate who got
into the backfield wrapped him up bythe ankles, but then he kind of
fell forward. He's very close tothe marker and they are going to get
him the first down, and it'sfirst and goal here for Edgar. And

(24:51):
we've seen Regis make some goal linestands like this before. Their defense is
very good in this down in distance, but right now they just see to
kind of be sleepwalking out there. That need to really wake themselves up,
get each other pumped up, andreally show what they have been all this
season. We saw this last week, right. We see them sometimes give
up a lot of yards, alot of touchdowns early in games and then

(25:12):
they tend to kind of buckle down. We'll see if that happens, to
say, but with the handoff, left side hops over the pile and he
gets close to the goal line,he looks like he's about a yard short.
He just kind of hurtle. Ithink it was his own man gravine
on that left side. The lefttackle had gotten taken down. And he
gets four on the play, secondand goal from the one yard line.
Yeah, And that just shows theathleticism too. He almost cleared that entire

(25:36):
pile. I mean he launched himself. But just a good job by this
U O Claire Region or this OClai Regis Ramblers team to really tighten up
and not let him to just walkright in. Most other teams will let
him walk right in, but theseguys have been so far stopping him.
They will give it to butt rightup the gut and he is in for
the score on a one yard garry. And with four forty one left to

(25:57):
play here in quarter number one,Edgar takes a six to nothing lead on
Regis turn level two of the playoffsbecause they go in on their first drive
of the game. And while theygave up that touchdown, I like what
they did towards the end, theyreally shored up. They were only allowing
maybe one two three yard carries afterthat really big run by Carter. But

(26:22):
to start off that drive. Butnow it's gonna be about what you can
do to adjust. I think theyhad too many men in the formation.
Here a legal substitution on Edgar onthe two point conversion. This is not
a team that kicks extra points,is Edgar, And so they'll go for
two. Now they back up fiveyards. You wonder if that could potentially
I'm sure it'll change a play callhere and again our head official Grid Ridzitski

(26:47):
calling that he was on top ofthat the whole way they were set up
information and there was somebody running offthe field. He saw that the entire
way. Yeah, he hit hishand ready on his pocket too. He
was waiting. They're making a littlebit of a formation switch here. They
might be potentially tempting an extra point. We'll see we need what eight seven
eight yards to go here eight yardsago rather to get the two point conversion.

(27:11):
Four to forty one left to playhere in the first quarter and again
in for the score on a sixtyyard drive here for Edgar that lasted just
over five minutes, about five minutesand twenty two seconds, and now they're
getting the tea out there to attemptthe extra point. Now the play clock
has been started. There's a lotof there's a lot of interim there,
and it will be the man whokicks off Harrison Gravine, who is onto

(27:33):
attempt now a little bit longer anextra point, about a twenty five yarder.
He's got the straight on run too. He doesn't go off on an
angle. It's an old school kickingright here. See he waits to snap
high, snap straight, gets itdown, kick is up, looks like
it's hooking left and it is andno good six nothing regis trails Edgar four
or forty one left to go firstquarter come back right after this here on

(27:53):

Edgar, Wisconsin sixth nothing the Wildcatsof Edgar with the lead on Regis Level
two Division seven WIA State football playoffs, bea can do some Danzon's with you
and an early lead here for Edgaragain, there were a couple fourth downs
on that drive, or at leasta one fourth down couple that got close.
Regis looked like they'd stop him acouple times with a couple of big

(29:02):
runs for Butt end up getting thattouchdown, and that's just going to be
a learning experience for them there. They now know what Edgar can do offensively
against them. And let's see whatBrennerman can do to be able to adjust
against this offense that's been able todo so much. Andrew's going to hand
it off on an end a roundas a tate moving right to left.
He's got a whole upside forty andhe's taking down at the forty one yard

(29:22):
line by the kicker Garvine. Anice little play there. Andrews saw Tate
the entire way. Andrews went tothe far side. Tit was coming near
side, and I wonder if hegot that ball a little earlier, if
there'd have been a little bit morespace. Not a bad idea, it's
just when he handed off to him, everybody was kind of already on that
side of the field, Dan,and I don't think that ended up working
out the way they wanted it to. But forty one yard line not bad
to start off the new drive.I think they expected a deeper kick,

(29:44):
to be honest. I think theyhad that play already driving up and lined
up and ready to go. Butas soon as that ball bounced kind of
towards like the thirty, they werejust like, all right, well,
now we got to kind of makeup with whatever we have here now.
Not really ideal for them. Reejust his first drive. It was three
runs and they only got three yardsout of it, and they're gonna go
with an interesting formation here They handoff to Costca moving right side. They

(30:06):
had everybody tuck up on the linebut it was it was almost like a
straight not even a straight eye,a single back formation with a bunch of
tight ends up near the line.I don't know if we've seen that formation
all season long. It gets aboutfour on the play up to the forty
five. Yeah, no, becausemost of it's that inverted wing and that's
been their bread and butter all seasonlong, and obviously that's been not working
for them so far this game.I, you know, three and out

(30:29):
and with all of it, thisis a kind of a tight ie formation.
I think you'd call it. Albi'sright behind Weisenberger. They hand off
to Tate and he'll get a fuckthree on the play to the forty eight
yard line, and that brings upa third and about three here for Regis
and they need the forty nine ofEdgar and get it into Edgar territory for
the first down. As we tickunder three forty five left to go in

(30:49):
the first quarter, Edgar six Readiusnothing and while there's four very early on
in this but you feel like theyreally need to pick up this burst down
to get some kind of momentum backin this game. What confidence, right?
You get a first down? Igot some defense that's so good.
But they get right up on theball and here's the handoff moving right.
Costca bounces out right side. He'sgot a little bit of a hole,

(31:10):
eludes a tackler forty five forty farsideline and it's taking down from behind and
about the thirty five yard line.Costca tackled out on the edge. Looked
like Brett Baumgartner was a man whogot to him. But a big gain
to the Edgar thirty five yard lineand a first down on a gain of
thirteen. And that's the danger ofChase Costca. I mean, he's made
that his life blooed this season withhis five touchdown six hundred and forty four

(31:32):
yards. He is a speedster atsix foot at six foot yeah, at
six foot eight four. There wego. I couldn't read really well.
There's a handout to Tate in thebackfield, got past the initial line.
Now broke a tackle and he's gonnajust kind of power this one forward across
the thirty up near the twenty sevenyard line. How about Everett Tate pushing
the pile and he gets about seveneight yards here on first down, second

(31:56):
and short here for regis two fiftyleft to go. First quarter Edgar six
Regis nothing, And I mean thiskind of reminds me of how that first
quarter went with Elmwood Plump City. They almost it almost didn't seem like they
were themselves against them to start offwith the first drive. But now they're
kind of getting their sea legs underneaththem. I formation, Weisenberger under center,
handoff to Costco looking for a wholeright side. I think he's got

(32:17):
the first down, just went suitingbody right and he gets past the twenty
five to about the twenty four yardline. That's a gain of four on
the play. Kind of first downhere, Bertha Ramblers, and it seems
like that new I formation for themis working very well. Had a whistle
and a time out taken by Edgaragain. You know, I've been I
think at every almost every Regis gamethis season Dan at least all the home

(32:39):
runs, and I don't know ifI've seen that that I format. It's
not your typical eye formation. Isa time out taken by Edgar. But
you've got bradon all. But youknow, typically he'd be about equidistant between
Weisenberger and whoever the tailback is.He's what probably about two feet behind Weisenberger
and then the tailback's probably another youknow, six seven, eight feet behind
him. There's a It's an interestingkind of set up with that eye formation.

(33:00):
Yeah, and you know that thisEdgar team was not game planning against
that, because they've been game planningagainst their bread and butter all season,
which is the double wing. Butjust right now that i've that deep that,
I'm just gonna say that's deep eyeformation. That's pretty much what it's
college should be called. That deepeye formation has been getting so much trouble

(33:22):
to him because they just aren't ableto really adjust to that right now.
And that's why they needed this timeout. Clearly why they called time out.
I think there's this a little bitof game plan and going on in
game here for coach Sins, andthey will talk a little bit about what
they want to do, obviously. And now a first down in ten here
from the twenty four yard line ofEdgar, so Regis is knocking on the

(33:42):
door here getting close again. ThisEdgar team is not giving up a point
since August twenty fifth, and allthe different things we had going on back
then. Here's a handoff to Albiein the backfield. He'll get it across
the twenty about to the nineteen beforehe's pushed backward by a heard of Wildcats.
There A couple guys apple Back wasin on the stop along with a
couple of others. Donkey looked likehe was there as well. About a

(34:04):
four yard game. Second and sixhere for Regis and I will say that
was a smart time out by theEdgar Wildcats head coach, mainly because if
that regious offensive running game gets going, it's hard to stop it when they
have that kind of momentum going forwarddownhill. Sure, and again it looks
like they're gonna go with that Iformation. Costka is a tailback Alvi the
fullback here second and six from thetwenty of Edgar won fifty left to go,

(34:27):
first quarter and now a shift andthat is offside. The offensive line
can shift to the right like that. That should be off offside on Edgar.
The line judge initially signaled that itwas a false start. That they
can shift the line like that,Why I think I'll have a fall start
they were shifting the line, Dad. I know it's one of those plays
that right now Brian Brenner's trying toget an explanation because you can shift the

(34:50):
line all together like that. AndEdgar went over the line and the line
judge wasn't having any of it,called it a false start. Yeah,
player that jumped off sides too, knew it was. That was on him
too because he went down on oned you and just like man, what
just happened? ILB will hand itoff to Tait and that tailback and that

(35:12):
I formation, and he will getacross the twenty five to about the twenty
two yard line before he is takendown, gets back a chunk of that
penalty yardage. Now, third andwe'll call it about eight coming up here
for Regis with one eighteen left togo, first quarter, six nothing.
Edgar leeds in Regis with a bigthird down coming up, and you wonder
if this is a four down territoryhere now, especially with how this game

(35:36):
has been going so far and howquick we've been moving. They need to
get it just inside the fifteen toup the fourteen yard line. That's where
Regis needs to be. Now.They're going to go with a Trip's formation
to the left side here, includingShula, who is in the game as
a potential receiver along with Andrews.Wisenback has the ball kind of low to
him there. He throws to Andrewscatch may but he didn't have the first

(35:57):
down. He had to go tothe ground to make that catch at seventeen
yard line. It's only a gainof five brings up fourth and three,
and I think Regis is gonna haveto run one more play here, so
they could bring the field goal unitout if they want. They could also
try to convert this first down. It's about fourth and three here for Regis
at the seventeen yard line, andthey do have to run a play here

(36:17):
before the end of the quarter.Fan's gonna make some noise here, Edgar
in good voice, And now backto that I formation. Here on fourth
and three, they need a fourteenfor a first down. It's wisen Beck.
He's gonna roll to his Right's gotalby downfield. It is caught at
to ten and he's taken down frombehind it about the seven yard line,

(36:38):
and that will move the sticks abouta ten yard gain on fourth and three.
And there's a little rollout play actionout of that talk about to run.
That's gonna be end of the firstquarter of a damn that's a nice
little wrinkle to get the first down. Yeah, that was just a great
play design to spread out that throughoutthat defense. They were all expecting run
on that play and they all soldout for it, leaving Albi wide open.

(37:00):
That cast red just as a firstand goal from the seven yard line
coming up. But we start thesecond quarter after this with Edgar leading six
to uping on the Ramblers back afterthis on Classic Rock ninety two to one.

to Edgar, Wisconsin. The EdgarWildcats went sixty yards in their first drive
of this game to take US somethinglead on Regis. But in the second
drive for Regis, they have marchdown field. They started on their own
forty one yard line. They've gota first and goal at the seven yard
line against a team that hasn't givenup any points in high school football in

(38:10):
a game since August twenty fifth teen. Not to say that it's gonna be
a psychological thing or whatever, butyou know, if we just scores here
all of a sudden, you know, you've got that streak going, and
all of a sudden somebody scores againstyou, do you wonder how that's gonna
affect edgre mentally if they give upa touchdown here. Yeah, And everyone
likes to say yeah, Everyone likesto say yeah. I don't think about
that kind of thing, especially inhigh school football, but you're reminded of

(38:31):
it every single time. Whenever youhave a streak like that, you're either
trying to break it or you're tryingto keep it back to the inverted double
wing here, and they will giveit on the carry moving right side.
I believe that was tap and hegets close to the five yard line before
he's part of me. Andrews ratheron that carry about a yard maybe two.
So second and goal coming up,and they just kind of had some

(38:52):
mismotion in the backfield there. Andrew'smoving from the left wing to the right
side of the line and just gottripped up right away. Yeah, honestly
hoping they would dump that off toChase Costka going around that left side.
He had a wide open lane thereand only one man to beat it.
But lived to fight another day.You still gain five yards on that play.
Tate Meyer the wing backs this timehere in the inverted double wing.

(39:13):
This is Tate Tate moving from rightto left. He's being chased from behind
and he is hitting the backfield andtaken down. Colby Weisenberger saw it the
entire way, chased him down, tripped him up. The tackle came from
bomb Gardner. It's a loss ofa couple back to the seven yard line.
But boy, they saw that comingand they just said, hey,
we can beat you. We couldget you there on the speed you don't

(39:34):
have it, And that's exactly whathappened. And I mean Bomb Gardner's done
that for Edgar all season long. Those four tackles for loss speak for itself.
That's one of the highest on theteam for tackles for loss. He's
one of their better linebackers out thereon that right side edge, trying to
protect as much as possible against thisreally stout offensive line. There's that I

(39:55):
formation again. It's a handoff toCostca moving right, hits the defender never
goes down. Now, Edgar's sayingthe ball came out. I heard a
whistle. I'm not sure how they'regonna rule this. Here, he's down
at about the two yard line orso. It's a matter of whether his
knee hit the ground or not.I think it did, Dan, but
it's hard to tell. And nowit's gonna be fourth and goal from about
the three yard line, and youknow Regis is going for this, Oh

(40:19):
yeah, definitely. And here's thething about high school football. We don't
have instant replay, so we can'ttell whether or not he was down.
However, from up here, itdidn't look like he rolled his knee down
first before Edgar defender had plopped theball. But that's another thing. Though.
These two teams are playing with intensity. Even when the play is over,
they're still fighting the clawing for thatball. They heard a double wing

(40:39):
from the three yard line, fourthand goal. They get motion and there
is a flag. There was jumpingall over the place. They're gonna call
this on Regis, and I thinkthat is gonna send the field goal unit
out here. We know they've gota good field goal unit and they can
go with either Noah Labor or JackSchroeder and just sure enough, we'll jump
off side and Regis or a littlejump fall start, i should say,

(41:00):
and Regis is going to try tokick the field goal. And that's just
that's just terrible for momentum to youhate going back, and especially when you're
right there on the goal line andyou have a perfect play drawn up and
then suddenly someone hops off side justa split second too quick, and now
you're having to settle for a fieldgoal. There is a little bit of
win, but it's cross wind. It's blowing from the press box to the

(41:21):
left, so this would be kindof a hook win as they move from
left to right here in the secondquarter, it is Jack Schroder on to
attempt this a twenty five yard fieldgoal attempt. I snap they get it
down, but that is not evenclose. Schroder not sure if he got
a bad planet there with that leftfoot on the kick crew, but that
ball maybe but maybe got five feetoff the ground. The entire way was
just a bad situation all the wayaround. No good. And it is

(41:44):
first and ten here for Edgar.Yeah, and it just might not be
a great kicking night, to behonest, because we already missed one.
We already saw one missed extra point. I know that there's not much of
a kicking team Edgar Wildcats are. However, they hooked that thing wildly to
the left, and that same thinghappened too to the same thing happened too

(42:04):
on this kick as well. Soit's also the grass too. I have
to say, I can't imagine it'sfun to kick out there. You just
can't get planted with that plant putand then you know you don't just don't
know where your actual kicking leg isgonna go. As they will start at
the twenty as that ball went throughthe back of the end zone on a
touchback officially so and your back outon offense leading six to nothing pitch right
side. That was a bobbled pitchout on the right edge. Spin move

(42:24):
to the twenty five and out nearthe first down marker goes Kobe Weisenberger.
He'll get up to about the twentynine nine yard gain on first down there,
second and one, Yeah, andKolbe Weisenberger is more of that change
of pace back kind of letting uh, just to let up on, just
to let up, just let upthere. I forgot his name for a

(42:46):
second. Well, just let upthere on Carter. But because you can't
have him running the entire game loong, he's gonna stress himself out. Most
of these guys play on both sidesof offense and defense. So just getting
a good switch up there kind oftakes off the pressure on butt second and
one. It is a handoff toButt up the gut and he'll get the
first down across the thirty. Hewas lined up as the full back in

(43:06):
a bit of an eye formation lookthere as well. He'll get to the
thirty two yard line gain a threeon the play first down here for Edgar
as Preston Olsen came in to makethe stop there. He had thirty total
tackles coming in and so far,Edgard, I mean, they've been the
better team. He saw Regis moveit downfield, but they've had the better
of it so far, as wetook under nine minutes left to go second
quarter, six nothing Edgar and they'vegot the ball. Yeah, definitely the

(43:29):
better rushing team. I will saywe just kind of got their legs underneath
them. Were really showing what theyexactly had been doing all season long.
But Edgar so far has been theconsistent one moving from left to right in
motion. Goes Weisenberger as a receiver. Here, straight hands it off in
the backfield. This is up thegut, It goes to butt. He'll
get across the thirty five maybe thethirty eight yard line when he's taken down

(43:50):
by a host for Ramblers. Semlingcoming out of the pile along with Rocco
and a couple others. Think Albiewas in there as well. Second and
about five here coming up for Edgar. He got to compliment that offensive line
for Edgar, and they make runningfor Carter but so much easier. And
this team, if they're able todominate in the trenches, it's gonna be
a hard time for Regis. However, with the defensive scheming that this Ramblers

(44:14):
coaching staff has, I would expectsomething to change soon. I think what
you're noticing right now. Is itjust there hasn't been a lot of penetration
into the backfield for this regious defense. Rolling here out is strike he'll throw
and it's incomplete, little pop pass. He got a little too cute with
it on the rollout to his left, kind of to Weinsenberg. He's rolling
across his body, but he waswide open, and I think he just
kind of tried to lay it inthere instead of just throwing and he ends

(44:37):
up dropping it. Probably a ball. He should have caught third and five.
Yeah, And he had all thetime in the world to throw that
too. He really waited until thelast second to throw it right in there
to get that first down, butjust absolutely could not. Not really a
great pass through that right at thehead. And this is not a passing
team for the most part. Imean they only have three passing attempts last

(44:58):
game did Edgar sixty nine is straighton the season, does have nine passing
touchdowns. Will hand it off ona counter move to the right side,
and he does not have the firstdown there, does Weisenberger. He was
coming in motion from the left sideof the formation and almost was kind of
a in front of him end aroundif you will, And he's gonna be
about three yards short of the firstdown. And it'd be interested to see

(45:19):
how I mean, you're on yourown side of the fifty, on your
own thirty nine. You don't getit here, and you give read this
really good field position. But again, you know about this defense, they
probably say the heck with, wedon't care when we give him the ball.
We feel pretty good about what ourdefense can do. Oh yeah.
And I mean, and it lookslike they're gonna have their punting you to
come onto the field, which ismost people would say the smart move.
But man, the way that thisEdgar team's been running, it't I wouldn't

(45:43):
be surprised if we see a tripplay here. No, it certainly would
not shock me. Here brock Maueris the man to kick this one away
Hassent Tate or back to return attheir own thirty yard line. He's standing
in his own twenty five on fourthand three. And now this is a
delay of game gonna be go againstEdgar here with seven minutes left to go,
second quarter, Edgar leading six tonothing here on Regis and they're about

(46:05):
to punt it away to a delayof game coming in from a back judge
there and that'll back him up fiveyards. That'll make it I think relatively
elementary that they won't do any kindof crazy trickery here. I've been wrong
before, but it doesn't seem likeit after that five yard penalty. Yeah,
they might have to pocket any tricksthat they may have potentially had up
their sleeves for this one. Sohere comes a punt, a little bit

(46:28):
of a high snap, they'll getit away. This is a knuckling ball
here that has is going to comeup and try to make a catch on.
He did not call for a faircatch, so he'll take it at
the forty gets four yards out ofit there. I think Edgar backed off
thought maybe that he did or hewas going to, and he just never
did. Four yard return to theforty four yard line, and again good
field position here for regis down sixto nothing with six forty four left on
the second quarner. Yeah, andit's going to be interesting to see how

(46:52):
they're going to come out of thisoffensive break and what they have drawn up
exactly. They had a good momentumshift going towards that end zone, but
then obviously got stopped at the gotstopped at the five, couldn't kick the
field goal, turned it right backover on down, but then made a
solid stop Defensively, they're gonna splitShull out to the right here as one

(47:12):
receiver. He'll hand off to Costkaup the gut. He's got nothing,
got hit at the line and nowhe's being pulled backwards. Appleback was on
the outside of that formation. Let'ssee who got the tackle on the bottom
of it there. It looks likeLucas Stanky was a man who did it,
and it'll be a no gain andsecond and tent here for Regis and
he almost feel again this is arunning team, Dan, But you know

(47:34):
that wrinkled Albion the last possession wherethey got that ten yard pass on fourth
down. You wonder if it's somethinglike that, when are they going to
play that? Put that trick playin that you see from trip from Brian
Brenner so many times. Bank couldpotentially be on this one with that trip
set up. Yeah, the threereceivers right low. Snap again, Weisenberger's
getting pressure and he's sacked. Sackedback at the thirty four or maybe the

(47:54):
thirty five yard line. There,Weisenberger was coming on a blitz the name
sake, Corohen Weisenberger takes him downback in the thirty four yard line,
big time, wass and now it'sthird and forever third and twenty here for
Regis. There's too many Wisenbergers outthere on the field. Gets it,
gets it a little bit all confused. This is a defensive team, as

(48:15):
the coaches jumping up and down, really trying not to lose sight of their
defense here as Edgar's head coach. But man, this is one of the
better defensive pass rushing teams there, and they just got a free pass on
that with that low snap. Fourreceivers set here for Regis on third and
twenty, they'll throw over the middle. I undrews that he catch it.

(48:36):
No, But there is a flagon the far side of the field here.
This is either a sideline warning oryou know, Everett Tay was being
kind of run out of bounds byBombgartner over there. I wonder if there's
some kind of penalty coming up onthe defense here on that far side was
away from the play, but therewas definitely some contact on that far sideline.
There comes a call man on thirdand twenty. This would bail out

(48:59):
regions. So if this is againEdgar, it is holding on anger.
Yeah, so again this is gonnait's now in high school football, correct
me if I'm wrong again, Ibelieve it's not an automatic first down.
So this is gonna be ten yardsfrom the previous spot, and we're gonna
see third and ten now here forRegis. It is not like it was
or is in college football or inthe NFL. It is a ten yard

(49:22):
penalty. Despite what the fans belowus say. This is a ten yard
federal in high school. But itis not an automatic first down. I
believe those fans below us may beEdgar fan. It's possible if I'm receivers
right, here's Weisenberger back to passagain, rolling right, got pressure,
he's hit and he sacked again, back at the thirty three, and they
are getting penetration and Weisenberger can't getaway from it. Right now is Lucastaki

(49:45):
gets the stop and a fourth andlong coming up and punt coming up here
for Regis, And that is it'shard to do as a quarterback. You
cannot keep running back where you needto be able to nav get the pocket
enough to be able to make somespace and potentially find room to either run
the ball or find a pocket topass that ball in. But you cannot
just keep running backwards because that willjust leave the defenders to just go around

(50:06):
their lineman and just get an easysack. Edgar leading six to nothingk Shula
will get a big boot into thisone and he will kick it into but
Tansey muffstt mups it Paul down atthe twenty yard line. Regis says they
have it, do they? Yes, they do. Regius has it and
they've got great field position. Isbut has a special teams Bopa and Muff

(50:27):
sit back near the twenty yard line. It's recovered right at the twenty one
and Regis whips the field and they'vegot the ball. And who says punters
can't be star players. That wasa beautiful punt to not only take but
off of his guard there, butit went over him and he had to
try and reach around and grab that. He didn't have to, but he

(50:47):
thought it was close enough to wherehe could maybe grab it and then make
a return on it. Great jobby this Regis return team, Regis defending
team. Here's a handoff to Costkarunning left in that eye formation, he
gets a couple looks like he getsacross in twenty two about the nineteen yard
line before he's hit by bomb Gardnerand be a gain of two on the

(51:08):
plate. Second and eight now herefor Regis. And imagine after those last
pass plays in those sacks, they'regonna try to keep this on the ground
as much as possible. Oh yeah, definitely, especially with the way that
they were able to run that lastI'm surprised that they went so much to
the air on that last drive becausethey had a good chunk rushing to get

(51:28):
them to a second and five, but then immediately gets sacked back holding a
handoff, goes up the gut hereand there is not a lot believe that
was Andrews who was the tailback thistime? No, apardon me, was
Tate and he's got maybe a halfa yard to about the what twenty or
nineteen yard line now and now thirdand long here for Regis. And now

(51:49):
they might have to go back tothe air. They just need some time
for Weisenberger to throw. I meanthey have gotten great penetration here on the
defensive side, is Edgar, Yes, they have. And also they have
been very like they've been very volatilegoing around the edges. We haven't seen
many rushes to the edges. It'sbeen mainly up the middle, and those
have not been able to get anywhere. There's that acest formation for reis one

(52:10):
receiver left, one right throw fromWeisenberger here near side is short. The
ball looked like it almost kind ofslipped out of his hands on the throw
intended here on the near side. For Tait, there's double coverage over there
as well. But even if Imean that ball was thrown well short from
the far hash to the near hashand the wind is kind of blowing into
him on that cross win, thatball looked like it never really had a

(52:31):
chance to get there. No,it did not that that was already hitting
the ground by the time his receivergot out of the break. But so
they're gonna really need something to getgoing here more than seven here officially from
just inside the nineteen yard line. They need to get it down to about
the eleven twelve yard line for afirst down. Three to nineteen left to

(52:52):
go. Second quarter, we gota whistle. Think Brian Brenner is going
to take a time out, asagain he can't take him to the locker
room. You can't take him homewith you, so he'll use one of
his first half timeouts. Six touping. Regis trails Edgar with three nineteen
left to go. Here in thesecond quarter, we'll take quick quick break
come back right after this our ClassicRock ninety two one. This is so

(53:58):
a fourth and seven with three nineteam left to go. Second quarter.
Edgar six reads nothing that need theeleven yard line for a first down.
They'll hand it off. No,it's gonna be a passer Foreverett take throws
it up. It is bat itaway and it is intercepted at the goal
line. Let's see if this isgonna be a down at the one or
this is gonna be a touchback.I think this is gonna be down at
the one. Dan boy. Thatends up really hurting Edgar. They'd have

(54:20):
been better off just dropping that ballon fourth down. And uh well,
it was an interesting trick play atEverett take. I mean he almost got
that ball down field to Shula. They just put too much air under it.
They come over intercept it. Butnow they start at their own one.
And even then Alex Jula still hada chansfer it with a batted ball.
It got batted into his hands. He'll he bobbled it too, and

(54:42):
then they'll hand it into the headsof Edgar Wildcat. Just a great job
by the Wildcats to be able tonot only recognize the situation, but then
to close up and not allow afree runner down the field. So this
will be I'm sure a lot ofpower running here. Strike goes under center,
he's got the strong team behind him, and now a little movement and
a false start that's going to movethe ball back about an inch or two.

(55:05):
I'm sure on half the distance ofthe goal. False start doesn't really
matter a whole lot when you're onthe one yard line. No, No,
I mean you could ask Josh Allenabout that last year, right,
I mean we saw we've seen strangerthings happen down on the goal line in
these situations across what NFL in collegefootball, certainly, Yeah, ask Dan
Orbloski. Here's a hand yeah,no kidding, handoff left side a yard

(55:28):
two maybe three as they pushed thepile four that is Butt who gets the
handoff. We'll call it the threeyard line gain of two on the play
second and eight here for Edgar withtwo fifty five left in the second quarter.
Now he just has two timeouts.I don't think they'll take them yet.
Maybe if they shut them down andmake it a third and long,
they might try to burn one toget the ball back with some decent amount

(55:50):
of time left. Yeah, andthis offense has had a few times to
really get down the field and score. I mean they started at the twenty
of Edgar just couldn't get anything going. Just right, hands off to Butt
right's side, hits there across thefive. That's a good hole opened up
on that right side. Tackled fromPreston Olsen, but not before he gets
some decent yardage to about the sevenyard line. So we'll call it third
and four now here for Edgar, clock continues to run two twenty left in

(56:14):
the second quarter. Edgar's six regisnothing and Reis really needs their defense to
tighten up right here. They've beendoing it so far, this last couple
of drives that Edgars have, butthis is where they really needed. This
could be a whole momentum flip.So Regis is not, you know,
in any hurry to call the timeout. Edgar not in any hurry to
really get this playoff either. Ithink, well, they're worried about maybe

(56:35):
a fourth down coming up here, they certainly wouldn't go for it in this
situation, this deep in their ownterritory. Schreke goes under center of the
inverted apartment in the straight T formationand the handoff is in the backfield.
Shula hits the runner initially, Idon't think he got a ten yard line
about a yard short. Weisenberger gotthe handoff there. I thought Shula had
a chance to get him, andhe just kind of ran over him for
about three yards and see yard shortsare fourth and one, four o'clock ticking.

(57:00):
Brian Brener's trying to kind of seewhat Edgar's gonna do before he takes
the time out here. If hedoes, and he might not, are
they gonna go for this? It'san interesting call. If they do go
for a thing, they might tryand draw them off sides here. Interesting
is one word for it. Thatis for sure. Straight they turned this
ball over that's at the ten yardline. I don't know if I understand

(57:22):
this. I get your confident andall that kind of thing, but this
is going to be a whistle anda timeout from Edgar. So yeah,
they didn't even try to draw moff side. I think they just all
stand around, going are we actuallydoing this? And coaching staff decided to
take a time out and talk abouta one oh nine left to go second
quarter. Regis trailing Edgar six tonothing. We talked about it last year,

(57:42):
right, Regis obviously with the youknow Xander Rocco, right, all
the great players that they had lastthe last season, the talented guys who
went on to go play college football. They go on obviously to win the
state championship. They ran all overthe Secret team with a lot of the
same players. In the last season, a lot of those guys had graduated.
We don't read just it's next manup, all those kind of things,
Dan, But this Agger team,it's a lot of the same guys,

(58:04):
and they kind of feel that youcan kind of feel that they feel
that we need to go out andget revenge for what happened last season.
Yeah, it's almost like a it'sa literal revenge series between these two.
I mean, you know that theywere thinking about that all through the off
season, all up until the beginningof the season, and all the way
through the season, waiting for hopefullyanother chance at Regis again in the playoffs.

(58:25):
And here they are. Here isthe punt unit before Edgar. This
is a little more of what Iwas thinking. I get it. You're
you're confident with your offensive line, but if you turn it over, you're
giving almost giving Regis points, atleast giving them a good chance. And
here comes the punt. Can wejust get a block? They cannot and
there is a flag. This isgonna be ROUGHI at least running into a

(58:47):
ball down at the thirty yard line, it should be great field position for
Regis. You know what's interesting isI thought the punter already came down and
it was almost like a delayed hitput on them. So that's why I
think they're only gonna call it runninginto it. It doesn't matter because it's
gonna give him a first down anyway. But point that is just a mentor
fake. You cannot have no,absolutely not, and especially with a chance

(59:10):
to really get something going downfield herejust cannot be giving up free cannot be
giving up freevieous to a team likethis. And they got close to blocking
it, right. I mean, they're all going for the block, so
you kind of understand why the contactgets made. But at the same time,
you got to make that angle right. You can have to take the
angle. You can't go straight intohim when you're going for that block.
I get it. But at thesame time, that is just a five

(59:31):
yard running into it. He hadalready come back down, you know,
roughing usually when you're still up right, when the plant foot is what you
get run into, and he hadalready kind of come back down. So
just the five yard variety puts itup to the fifteen yard line. First
down here for Edgar fifty nine secondsremained here in quarter number two, and
they want to pass this one straightwas looking downfield. Now he's gonna run

(59:52):
with it, and he will slidedown. Shula and LB were the closest
to him. They'll give him ayard on the play to the sixteen yard
line. Clock will run Brian Brennernot stopping it here on a timeout of
his own forty three, forty two, forty one left to play first half.
Yeah, and I'm guaranteeing that whatcoach had said to what coach had

(01:00:14):
said to mister Tiegan Street was tojust slide down if there was nothing open
downfield, because they don't want togive Reagis another chance of getting back on
the football on the offensive side.Snap gonna be taken here in the shotgun
with about twenty three seconds left inthe half. It's right, gonna run
out right side. They got someblockers, the ball, fumble the ball,
the ball is down. It isscooped up though by Edgar rather it

(01:00:36):
about the twenty one yard line.Boy, he'll be putting big hole in
on him there. That ball wentflying into the air, ends up getting
it up to about the twenty oneyard line. The clock ticks Regis is
not going to take a time out. And that's the end of the first
half. So the only points ofthis game were a touchdown on the first
drive of the game for Edgar thatwent sixty yards. They ran right through

(01:00:58):
the Regis defense. But man,you know, Regis's offense has struggled.
This Edgar defense is the real deal. We weren't sure, you know,
the no, the Mayra would andMerrowold's a good conference, but you know,
will teams from the outside challenge justdefense. I think after watching that
first half you could tell that theyare the real deal. But Regis's defense
they tightened up after that first driveand now we've got probably a defensive struggle

(01:01:20):
on our hands tonight. Oh yeah, especially a running struggle too. These
two teams have really gotten into theirrunning bags out here, but not really
much for Regis. And that's theend of the first half. You kind
of if you're a Regius fan,you kind of wish that they would have
scored on that twenty yard line, but at least they got that ball back
where it was there. And we'veseen some really great defensive pressures and that,
of course, that last hit byAlbi really sealed up the start really

(01:01:45):
sealed up the start of the firsthalf. A couple of scores. We'll
get you a few more at theend a halftime as well. But at
last check, Boyceville was leading SpringValley eight to nothing in that game,
again the one versus four matchup. The winner of this game will play the
winner of that game, and it'sboys Field six, Spring Valley nothing.
Now, So Boyceville the one seedis two scores up on the Cardinals of

(01:02:05):
Spring Valley in that game. Atlast check, New Richmond was leading sixteen
to seven. Nomen dominie. We'llget you plenty more scores and try to
get you a few more from aroundthe area as well. Here at halftime.
But it is halftime and it isEdgar leading six to nothing over Regis

You're listening to it right here onClassic Rock ninety two one FM WNQ,

The winner of this game plays awinner at Boyceville versus Spring Valley.
Boycevield leading sixteen to nothing over SpringValley and time a couple other scorers from

(01:03:07):
around the area as well. NewRichmond leading sixteen to seven over No Nominate
in Division two just down the roadfrom Eau Claire as well. Dam first
half impressions Edgar again, I mean, they showed how good of a defense
they are. One drive that resultedin a touchdown, and outside of that,
maybe Edgar didn't move the ball nearlyas well as they like. Regis

(01:03:28):
defense kind of buckled down there. But boy, this could be a bad
situation for Regis if they can't figureout a way to score some points.
Obviously, but boy, it justseems like it's a really uphill battle against
how good this defense is for Edgar. Oh yeah, they've had their chances
too, I mean, remember theygot that muff pump that was back on
their twenty yard that back on theEdgar twenty yard line there and could not

(01:03:49):
get it in. But we haveseen some a little bit of a movement
from them when they have when theygot the ball back towards when they got
the ball after Edgar had scored, they were able to kind of march down
the field, but got all theway down to the ten yard line,
wasn't able to score there. Edgar'stightened up again. So far, Edgar
in the red zone has been very, very dangerous defensively, they certainly have.

(01:04:10):
And again, I mean it justfelt like, you know, the
second Regis and they had won afirst goal I think from the seven yard
line when they missed that field goalon that end of that drive as well,
they had to the seven yard lineafter they converted a fourth down,
and you thought, okay, heregoes Regis, right, finally gonna get
some points against a team that hasn'tgiven up points since August. And just
I mean, they tightened up likecrazy, right and for me, at

(01:04:31):
least what I've been seeing here,at least for me, Regis's defense,
while they played well, they havehad some holes in it, right,
This offensive line for Eggers opened upsome holes. On the other side,
Regis's offensive line has not been ableto open up nearly as much space as
Edgar's offensive line has been able toon the other side of Edgar's just I
mean, they're just getting off theball really really quickly. They're burst when

(01:04:56):
that ball is snapped. Is impressive. Yeah, and that's that's really been
the difference between these two. Edgar'sreally come out with some defense, with
not only defensive, not only offense, but all around team intensity. It
seems like no matter where they are, they're always flying to the ball,
They're always trying to make some kindof playing, always getting to their angles,
while it seems like Regis for themost part of the first half kind
of slept walk through, uh throughmost of it. However, it's gonna

(01:05:19):
be interesting to see what kind ofadjustments that RenderMan had made for this offense
and defense. Well, and youmentioned earlier, Mugh Punt. I mean,
if Edgar's made a couple of mistakeshere tonight, I don't think there's
any doubt about that. The problemis Regis hasn't taken advantage of them yet
and will those I mean, willthere be any more mistakes to take advantage
of? I think as part ofthe question you have if you're a Regis

(01:05:42):
fan here this evening all right,Ready for the kickoff. You're of half
number two, Regis kicking off toEdgar. Pablo Gonzalez will be the man
to kick away. And there arethree returners back for the Wildcats, including
Butt and others. And again it'llbe Edgar from right to left, Regis
from left to right here in quarternumber three. It's a crosswind really not
affecting one way or the other, just a cross went out there. Gonzales

(01:06:05):
kicks it away. Here we goto start the second half, and it
was Butt who's gonna take it outof bounds that Paul Is likely headed out
of bounds, could have been outto the thirty five yard line, but
he runs out of bounds with itat about what the third thirteen yard liners.
So that is a mental mistake againin the special teams in the return
game, and we'll see if thatends up costing them. Yeah, and

(01:06:26):
that's been the that's been really theonly issue with Edgar so far, other
than offensive consistency, has been thatspecial teams unit has had a few miscues
that have resulted and not only aturnover, but now a loss of yardage
that could have ended them pretty goodsizeable uh pretty good sizeable return. Instead
they start at their own They startat their own thirteen yard line, and

(01:06:46):
kind of you kind of wish,if you're an Edgar fan, you would
have liked to see that go alittle bit further. Sure, it has
two tailbacks behind him, hands itoff right side to button, he has
hit it the line and then Gangreentackles him right back or there after maybe
a gain of on on the playthey got the receiver shoot who they have
not found tonight. They can't shooton on the right side out in that
receiver spot. Haven't thrown it tohim though. It gets maybe a half

(01:07:08):
a yard there on first down, second and nine here for Edgar, and
I think that's mainly because they've beenso effective offensively in that running game.
I mean, we saw that intheir last playoff game Edgar had against Glenwood
City, they only passed three totaltimes, and that was mainly because they
were able to just gas throughout GlenwoodCity for three hundred nine yards. Is
the only receiver out to the rights, put out on that far side far

(01:07:30):
hash Mark. They go send themout in motion and Regis calling for a
false start. Didn't get it.Now they pitch it off to the left
side. Here's a good job byRegis filling up that outside part of the
defense, and they're going to tackleWeisenberger for no gain on the play at
the fourteen yard line. And anothergreat job. Ian Andrews came into the
safety spot to help out along withothers on this right edge. Everard Tait
was there, and just like that, it's third and long here for Edgar,

(01:07:54):
and that was just beautiful containment thereby this Regis defense. They were
able to get on along that outside edge and did not allow for that
pitch to get any kind of tractionout there. Great job by the corridors,
especially to flow to that football.Ten forty left to play here a
third quarter. It's Edgar six Regiszero, third and nine from their own
fourteen yard line here for Edgar tostart the second half. Goes back to

(01:08:16):
pass after a play action, rollingright, trying to find the edge.
Now he is going to look backleft and he's going to try to find
a block and maybe to throw downfieldhere as well. Regis trying to chase
him down and he will dive, and he's got the first down out across
the twenty five throughout the twenty sevenyard line. Look at that. He
scrambled right, came back left. There were blockers. Regis couldn't contain him,
and he's got the first down. And I will say it, I'm

(01:08:40):
again I'm not a rep. However, there may have been a miss blind
side block on that far right,on that far left side. However,
a great job by Teage Street toreally improvise while there was no one downfield.
Great coverage by Regis, but Streetreally made something happen on nothing.
Yeah, it was Marcus huter Fuse. Who is the man who had that

(01:09:00):
blind I mean he was blocking backup field. I think you're right,
and that kind of lets him outthere. They're gonna give an end around
here to shoot trying to move aroundthe right edge. Can he find the
edge? He cannot. He hashit at the line and dropped relatively quickly
by Kavasovich and company. Kavasovich wasthere along with Alex Burdick. Yeah,
that'll be about a half yard gamesecond and nine here now coming up for
Edgar from their own twenty seven yardline. And this has just been a

(01:09:26):
great job of ma Hondas outside Edges, not letting those skill players get me
free passages to get some kind ofyardage out on that edge and let them
take the top off the defense. They've been able to just keep them on
the inside and force them back insideand make sure that that they're not really
getting any kind of way leeway outthere. The blocking hasn't been as good
as it was in the first half. The nine to fifteen left to play

(01:09:46):
third quarter, six nothing Edgar. They've got the ball second and nine from
their own twenty seven hand off upthe gut, not much, maybe a
yard or two, a quick handoff there to butt now late flag coming
in out of nowhere from the umpire, and this is in the Yeah,
this is in the unsportsman like acategory for sure. I'm not sure what
exactly. I didn't really see anythingthere. I'm pretty sure Edgar got up

(01:10:10):
into the face of one of theRegius players. So this is after the
play an unsportsmanlike on Edgar. Thisisn't even the thirty yard line, so
it's gonna be half the distance ofthe goal going backwards here. And I
believe the down's gonna count as well, Dan, because it likely happened after
the play was over. So you'relooking at third and long coming up.
Yeah, dead ball is the call. So it's gonna be third down,

(01:10:31):
and that is just you cannot makea mental mistake like that. If you're
Edgar, you had such a greatthing going there, even though you got
stopped a couple of times. Youcannot let your uh, you cannot let
your anger and your passion get outof hands. We know that it's a
tough mic going forward, but youjust cannot let that happen when you're in
such a position. And now you'reback way way way. They go back

(01:10:51):
to the fourteen yard line. Thisis gonna be third and about twenty seven
coming up here for Edgar, Ibelieve, if I've done my math correctly,
thirding about uh part of me thirdand twenty three. Rather, I
believe is the case handoff and no, he's gonna keep it himself as stright,
trying to go out around the rightedge, and he is ushered out
of bounds around the twenty yard line. In fact, they're gonna say he

(01:11:15):
was out I think before he gotto that point about the eighteen yard line,
so about a four yard gainer onthe edge, and the punt unit
is out for Edgar, and soRegis's defense holds. Where this real battle
is gonna come down to, iscan Regis finally figure out a way Can
they be the first team since Augustto find a way through this Edgar defense?
And we're gonna see it here shortly, and they're really gonna need it
here, especially with how both ofthese defenses have played. If they're able

(01:11:39):
to really find a notch in thisarmor of this Edgar defense, this is
the time to take it. Youhave another chance a good field position here.
So the punt coming from Mauer backto return is ha standing in his
own forty five hours inside his ownten and now a whistle and this is,
I believe on Edgar another false startbeing called. They're gonna back up
another five year, So the lineusscrimmage is gonna be the thirteen and Maur

(01:12:01):
might be standing in his own endzone by the time he punts this one
away. Yeah, and if you'reRegis, you cannot have a miss a
mishap like last time. However,it would be a lot to go for
the block, don't even want.I mean, where we've seen Regis have
some gains, is in some mistakesin the special teams unit, and now
whistle and Edgar's taking a time upto punt. This is they're all out

(01:12:24):
of sorts right now with eight fortythree left to go third quarter, Edgar
six and Regius nothing. Yeah, they just they have not looked like that
same Edgar team coming out of thehalf. They have they looked really all
out of sorts and just really nervousout there. Just those are those are
the type of mistakes that you don'texpect this type of team to make.
Yeah, it's gonna be fourth onabout twenty four to twenty five somewhere in
there here for Edgar. So eightforty three left to go, third quarter,

(01:12:46):
six to nothing, Regis again withthe lead on p part me trailing
Edgar rather six to nothing. Andagain, like we said, Boyceville was
up by two touchdowns sixteen and nothingat halftime on Spring Valley. If Boysville
to win, the winner of thisgame goes to Boysville next week. Boysville
is the one seed in that sectionof the bracket. In Division seven you

(01:13:08):
see Edgar fans gonna make some noisehere, maybe try to help Regis commit
a penalty, and I'm giving thema little more breathing room. Mauer is
standing about a yard or two deepin his own end zone and has along
with I think Tate now is addedto it. They're standing in Edger territory
to receive this ball about the fortynine yard line. It is a pretty

(01:13:29):
good snap. Mauer will take. The boys shanked it. Shank this punt.
Regis is gonna have great field position, takes an Edgar bounce, but
it's gonna be down at the twentynine yard line. You can call that
a sixteen yard punt and it isgo time for the Ramblers. Also something
to note, did you see thatthey didn't go for the block on that
mood. They were not ready tomake that kind of mistake again. Redman
saw that and was like, we'renot having that one again. But this

(01:13:51):
is this is exactly what this Regiousoffense needs if they're gonna go forward and
try and win this football game. You have another chance now with great field
position. It wasn't inside the twenty, wasn't inside the ten, but it's
inside the thirty right now, ifyou want to win this football game,
it starts here. Yeah, itcertainly does. You're gonna go with that
I formation that we saw quite abit with Alb tucked up tight next to

(01:14:13):
Weisenberger and Coska is the tailback. Now they're gonna shift the line and go
figure they don't call a falls fallstart this time on the Ramblers. Here's
the handoff, unbalanced cove and rightCostka is hitting down right at the line
of scrimmage. No gain on theplay at full back with the stop back
to lose a yard. Second andeleven from the thirty one of they had.
Your fans believes they should have beena false start on every play.

(01:14:34):
So who knows what's going on outthere? This is playoff football, man,
this is this is exciting for sure. I'm trying to remember we saw.
I want to say it was acollege game. Maybe it was an
NFL game where a team did thisand it did throw off even the officials
as well, where they do thatwhole line shift. It's something you can
do legally. It just doesn't lookright right. It looks like a fall

(01:14:55):
start. Second and eleven here, the handoff will go right side to Tate
Tait. They had the ball stripped. They had the ball stripped, and
I think he fell back on atat about the thirty two to thirty three
yard line. Appleback was there aswell, but take kind of crawled his
way back to that ball. Andnow it's going to be third and about
thirteen maybe fourteen here for Regis, and mark that as forced fumble number nine

(01:15:16):
for Edgar here this season they havecaused a crazy amount of forts fumbles because
they always are clawing and grabbing atthat ball. However, if you're Regis's
offense, you do not want togo backwards in this situation. You had
such a great starting field position. You're already backed up four total yards.
They're at the Edgar thirty four yardline. They'll go back to the inverted
double wing third and fourteen an awhistle and this is a fall start coming

(01:15:40):
up on rags, and so thensure enough we'll go backwards third and nineteen.
Now I was gonna say, youneed about half the yard is back.
Now you're looking to get you know, ten to fifteen yards so that
you can make four down a littlemore manageable. I mean, after the
field goal attempts that we've seen heretonight. After the field goal attempts we've
seen, I can't imagine we're goingto see much more kicking the see.
I think it's going to be mainlykeeping it on the ground. And so

(01:16:03):
regis third and forever third and innineteen officially here is what it's listed as.
There was seven or nine left togo third quarter. Yeah, and
we'll just have to see what theydo here. I mean, we've seen
them run on this long of adistance before, but we've also seen them
pass with a play action too. They're gonna go with a four receiver set,
three to the right, one tothe left, ball middle hash Mark

(01:16:23):
Weisenberger hands it off to Costco andthe delay, he's got some space to
the thirty, makes a move andhe's down to the twenty five yard line.
Was there in a flag? Ithink there was thrown by the line
judge on the near side. HereEdgar is signaling that it's on Regis.
This looks like maybe an illegal formationor an illegal shift, and sure enough
it is an illegal formation. They'regoing to back them up five more yards

(01:16:44):
are the officials here in the Ramblersare just making a lot of self inflicted
wounds, a lot of self inflictedmistakes at the moment, because he had
a good what fourteen to fifteen yardson that run, and that was gonna
be fourth and manageable. Oh yeah, I definitely was. And it looked
like it looked exactly like exactly howthey wanted that drawn up. And like
I said, I mean they caughthim all off guard. That is an

(01:17:04):
interesting decision there, because you couldhave had what fourth and about seven maybe
summer fourth and eight, and Edgardecides to move them back five yards and
make it third and long again andagain I don't think the kicking game's coming.
And interesting decision, right, Imean, it could have had fourth
down and relatively long. Three receiversgo right here for Weisenberger in the shotgun,

(01:17:26):
takes the snap back to pass guya little bit of time here,
throws it's intercepted at the forty yardline. Shula trying to make the tackle
on apple Back and he will upto the forty seven yard line. Appleback,
beautiful read on the pass from Weisenberger, picks him off and it's first
intent for Edgar and there's the firstreal big defensive play, big turnover.
That's going the Edgar win, andthat's why they declined that or that's why

(01:17:47):
they accepted that penalty, was hopingthey would turn over the football there and
give him an even closer yards thereinstead of backing them up and inside of
their own ten yard line like theyhave done before the before. Again,
Edgar's really swung this momentum now, taking it with that last interception. But
Regis, with how their defense playedthem, it's gonna be interesting to see

(01:18:09):
if they can get this ball backnow. So yeah, I mean this
is now the Regius defense. It'sgot to stand up and step up.
Certainly, is Edgar gonna start atthrowing forty seven? Leading six to nothing
here? Six twenty eight left togo? Third quarter? Handoff left side.
Butt's got a big hold of thefifty and he's stripped up into Regis
territory to the forty five yard line, and that'll be about an eight yard

(01:18:30):
gain. Second and short coming uphere for Edgar. But he had a
massive hole on that left side ofthe offense. Yeah, it could have
drove us freight train right through that. That's just showing how great this Edgar
blocking has been throughout most of thisgame. They started off a little bit
slow to start the first half here, how start the second half here,
boh, start the second half here, but has since been able to really

(01:18:51):
get some groove and momentum going intothe start of this drive. Six to
nothing here, it is a handoffto butt dances out right side. He's
got the first down and more outacross the forty and down here about the
thirty eight yard line. About aseven yard gain. That's a real nice
little shift, a little juke going, bouncing it in, put his left
foot in the ground, bounce itout right, and he had a lot

(01:19:13):
of yardage in front of him, gets seven in a first down. Something
else to say about Carter Buddes,He's he's pretty patient as a runner.
He's able to just kind of weavein between tacklers and kind of wait for
a hole to develop, wait forhis off of the lineman to get going.
And that's that's the best thing abouthaving such a great offensive line is
being able to take that time andfind the right hole. That's a great
point. Really good again, patience, as you say, Buck gonna get

(01:19:35):
the handoff left side, big hole, left side now across the thirty five
and he just kind of runs overEverett Tate who took a big hit for
the thirty one maybe thirty two abouta six to seven yard game. Tate
took the worst to that one.And it'll be second in short now here
for Edgar second and about a threeor four and Tate's gonna go down.
He needs some medical attention with fiveoh nine left to go third quarter and

(01:19:59):
Edgar is I'm starting to inflict ita little bit here on Regis. This
is very reminiscent of what you sawon the first drive of the game from
Edgar that got their only touch onthe only score of this game, as
well, soever taking to be takinga look at let's take a quick break.
We'll come back right after this fiveh nine left to go third quarter.

level to Division seven football playoffs.Five minutes up to go, third quarter.
Evertta taking off the field was alittle bit worse for the wear after
that hit from butt bucking a runat left side, and he's got enough
for the first down here out acrossthe thirty to about the thirty or partly
twenty six yard line. Take theby Peyton Semling on the play and they'll
move the chains here and right now. Edgar's starting to assert their will up

(01:21:31):
on the offensive line. Yeah, and especially running with Carter Button on this
one. It's been it's been always, it's been him his last few plays
here, kind of really getting intohis groove back again after starting off with
the three and out to get ornot really a three in out, but
it could have been three and outto start the second half, straight T
formation, they hand off to Buddy, gets past the initial line to the

(01:21:53):
twenty and he's taking out from behindby Alex Burdick, but not before he's
got a first down on about ofan eleven yard game to the fifteen yard
line. They'll move the chains.Four thirty one left to go. Third
quarter, Edgar six reads nothing ifthey get down by two scores against this
Edgar defense. I mean two scores. You say, okay, you got
a chance right to come back,But two scores against Edgar's defense feels like

(01:22:14):
about five or six. Oh yeah, it feels like blowout potential if it's
gonna go down like that too.And even though my show up has twelve
nothing on the scoreboy, it's gonnalook like a blowout if you review that
tape. Straight T formation, strikegoes under center, he hands off to
butt moving left side. Now counter'sright. They can't get the ankle tackle
their can. Andrews guns is outof it and gets across to fifteen to
about the thirteen, maybe the twelvebefore he's finally taken down. Decent job

(01:22:40):
there by Andrews to get the penetrationyou just couldn't get the stop on him
and if he lost a shoe thereas well, gets about three on the
play second and seven and this Thisdefensive line was able to sure up to
start the second half off, buthave soon has since really not been able
to stop the power. The powerback of Carter Bud interesting here, but

(01:23:02):
is getting his shoe put back onby a coach. They've only got ten
guys in the formation. They mighthave to take a time out here.
I don't think they want to,as he's gonna get back out there.
The back judge has his hand inthe air and the five second count starting.
Can they get this playoff two?Nope, They're gonna take a time
out, so they have used twoof their three timeouts in the second half.

(01:23:23):
Here of Edgar second and seven comingup inside the fifteen yard lump.
About the thirteen is where Edgar isthree twenty four left to go. Third

moment here in this level two gameand Division seven Edgar leading six to I

(01:24:28):
think Edgar has it in the redzone at the thirteen yard line of Regis
with a second and seven coming up, three twenty four left to play third
quarter, still a lot of timeleft with Edgar's defense has been great tonight
where you just trying to keep himout of the end zone. Here strike
goes under center and the strong teahands it off to Buckets, hitting the
backfield but gets away from it andhe pushes forward up near the ten to
about the nine yard line. It'sabout a four yard game, third and

(01:24:50):
three coming up for Edgar, andI'd imagine that this is four down territory
Dan, regardless of what happens here. Yeah, and it's a it's a
vital moment in this game right now. You want to get You need to
get this, You need to getthis stop here. They're way too close
to the goal line and you needto get something going on this defensive side.
So far this drive, they've beenreally just letting them do whatever they

(01:25:13):
want. The straight team formation, the tailback in it is but again in
the middle of it, Strake willgive it to Butt running left, countering
right. He's got the first andmore spinning down across the five and up
near the three yard line. That'sa six yard game. It's first and
goal, and he is finding alot of space. Shot. It feels
like Regis is starting to get someguys into the backfield, but the guys

(01:25:34):
are getting their safeties who are gettingmismatched in size or that two hundred and
fifteen pound Carter Butt who can justpower right past them. Yeah, and
that's so far been like the issueof most of this game so far is
when they do get penetration back there, they're not the same size at all.
I mean Carter Butt's five two andfifteen pounds. That's like trying to
stop a freight train coming at you. And patient as well as you said.

(01:25:57):
He waits for the hole to openand then hits it smart run first
and goal at the four two twentytwo left to go. Third quarter,
there's but again running left. He'sgot a big hole, He's got the
first down as he reaches out theball across the goal line and Edgar has
their second score of the game. It's twelve to nothing. They lead Reges
with two fifteen left to go herein the third and just great blocking up

(01:26:17):
front. There was almost nothing nothingthis defensive line was able to really do.
They had almost all the angles openedup for but to really do whatever
he wanted, and he just hoppedright over the edge and just let the
let the rest of everyone carry himright in. But a four minute and
thirteen second drive for Edgar. Nowthey'll try to go for two, and

(01:26:40):
they're gonna spread everybody out. Onereceiver left, two to the right,
spled far out away from the formation, but one of the tailbacks pro set
with appleback and he will give itto Butt. He fumbled the ball and
that is likely going to be nogood on the two pointers, So twelve
nothing. Edgar with the lead onranges two fifteen left to go third quarter.

(01:27:48):
at secher twelve read just nothing andit is two fifteen left to go third
quarter in this Level two Division sevenmatchup. You can do some dan Zon's
with you, John Sokobak and StudioDan. I think it's time for a
kick return, because that feels likethat's about the only way Regis is gonna
score to night This Edgar team sogood on the defensive side, and boy
they showed off their offensive capabilities openingup some big holes in the Regis defense

(01:28:12):
and running right through him. Ohyeah, definitely, And especially this offensive
Regis has not been able to getanything going no matter where they started on
the field. They started at theAtgar thirty, they started at the twenty.
But Edgar's defense has just been ableto clam down and contain any kind
of offensive flow that Regis has triedto get. It's just been it's been
if you're a Regis ban out there, it's been hard to watch this offense.

(01:28:33):
Yeah, unfortunately, just kind ofstalling out here tonight. And here
comes a good kickoff. This isgonna be Andrews from about the thirteen yard
line. He will fake the endaround a has or to a Tate rather
trying to find the edge, andhe has taken down at the seventeen eighteen
yard line and again just no spacenowhere to run there for Andrews Is he

(01:28:53):
again faked the end around to Tatewho is running to the far side of
the field. Yeah. It isnot good field position eighteen yard line here
for Regis. And it almost feelslike the one. It almost feels like
the only way you're gonna score hereagainst thatcher is you got a break one,
right, You got to figure outa way to get through this defense,
and then you know, somebody misseda tackle and that's about it.

(01:29:13):
I mean, they just seems sodisciplined, staying in their gaps. They
have been very impressive tonight. Yeah, And I mean that's where we saw
the most flow from uh when onRegis's second drive, which was kind of
similar to where they were now, they were able to break off a big
one and get something going there.Weisenberger gonna throw far side at his bottle
and incomplete should have been caught byAndrews out there at about the twenty five

(01:29:35):
yard line, wouldn't add the firstbut would have had a good gain on
first down, and he just bobblesit and drops it. That was a
good throw and not on Weisenberger, surely. And it's second to ten.
Yeah, if you're a receiver,I mean every receiver says this out there,
but if it can hit your hands, you should be able to catch
it. Whether that's the case usually, I don't know. That one was

(01:29:57):
just right there in that red basketA little low, but still, I
mean it's about thigh high. Thatshould have been caught. Certainly, one
receiver left, one right aces formationhere back to pass goes. Weisenberger throws
near side incomplete. He kind ofthrew that one a little too quick for
Tate who was going on the outroute. He was covered by Tucker Strait,
but not before Again, that ballwas just kind of thrown to a
spot that Tate couldn't get to.Incomplete, third and ten, and now

(01:30:21):
we have a third. They havebeen running for most of this game.
Just to now switch up to apassing offense. It's gonna be interesting to
see what they drop for this.Though it's still one fifty eight left to
go third quarter, there's still time, right, but again, this already
two passes in a row, almostfeels like they're not desperation mode, right,
but they're kind of in that situationwhere they're going for here is that's

(01:30:42):
another low snap. Weisenberger gonna haveto step up. Throws this one over
the middle. He had Tate andit's incomplete. He underthrew him. And
there's a one that probably is onWeisenberger. He gets a little more air
under that one. Tate's got theball at about the forty yard line in
about a twenty yard game and maybemore depending on where he hit the three
straight in completions, and Shula ison the punt, and you wonder if
the elements are starting to get something, are starting to get kind of into

(01:31:08):
the heads of and like mess withthe bodies of some of these Regis players,
because it really looks like the especiallywith that first catch or that first
miscatch, it just bounced off ofhis hands, just wasn't really ready for
something cold like that. Shula withthe punt, pretty good one here.
It'll take a Edgar bounce at theforty five and then is down by Coska

(01:31:28):
about the forty six yard line,So it ends up being a thirty six
yard punt or so. And greatfield position here for Edgar at their own
forty six, and that's probably oneof their better better starts, honestly,
better field position. Yeah, lastdrivals of their game, their best field
position at the forty seven, butnow at their own forty six yard line,

(01:31:51):
one forty three left to go,third quarter, Edgar twelve, Regis
zero, and they just need somethingto go their way. Nothing, you
know, feels like all the momentumis on the side of the man in
Green and Gold tonight, and Regishas not been able to get anything going
their way, especially in this secondhalf. As if yet handoff goes right
side and that ball carrier in Weinsenbergeris hit at the line, maybe gets

(01:32:13):
a half a yard trying to spinaway, but Albe takes him down.
Yeah, that will bring up secondand nine here for Edgar. This Regius
defense has been doing fairly well againstWeisenberger throughout most of this night. However,
it's been Carter Bud who's been reallythe pain in their butt. To
be honest with you, they justhaven't been able to stop him because of
how big he is. He justkind of just runs over everyone out there.

(01:32:35):
Whenever there's a chance for a linebackeror even a safety to make a
play. They just aren't able towrap up on him. Boyce Phil up
twenty four to nothing in their gameagain against Spring Valley. So it looks
like Boycefield gonna advance winner here,is gonna go on to play Boys Phil
in boys Field level three next week. We're under a minute left to go
third quarter, They'll hand it offto Weisenberger. Right side trying to find

(01:32:56):
the hole. He gets across thefifty and has spun down at the nine
yard line after a gain of fouron the play, and they will have
to run one more play here beforethe end of this quarter, So a
third and five and likely is gonnaend this third quarter as well. So
Regis could be, you know, pushing Edgar back on a fourth down,
or they give up a first downand it feels like it's all wildcats going

(01:33:17):
on the fourth quarter, big moment. Yeah, this is a this is
an important defensive stand. I mean, I know I said the last one
was they all are? They reallyall are. Once it gets down to
this point, twenty seconds remain herein the quarter. So again they're gonna
have to snap this one with aboutabout the ten second mark or so,
go under center and they'll hand itoff to Weisenberger countering right to left.

(01:33:40):
They got blockers and they have afirst down. Beautiful reverse play gets across
the forty five to the forty two, and Weisenberger on the end a round
play gets enough for the first downon a seven yard game that'll stop the
block Momentarily, they'll wind it andEdgar gonna take a twelve to nothing lead
into the fourth quarter against Regis. We will have fourth quarter for you right
after this here in Classic Rock ninetytwo one. This is so clear.

(01:34:47):
Welcome back here into Edgar. Edgarleading twelve nothing over Regis, says
we get sept for the start ofthe fourth quarter and Edgar will have a
first down in Regis territory at theforty two to start off the quarter.
As well, New Richmond leading twentythree to fifteen over Monomine in that game
right around the start of the fourthquarter there as well, I believe late
third quarter. In fact, thereand Boysfil adding another scores. It looks

(01:35:09):
like Boyspil as well. On theway they're over thirty points now and they
are shutting out bring ally Tonight into in Division seven as well. So
I'm not gonna get that Boys Spilor Spring Valley potential matchup with Regis if
we just can't turn things around herein Edgar and Edgar picking up a first
down right at the end of thatfourth or third quarter rather, and now

(01:35:30):
they're gonna just I'm sure give youa steady dose of Carter butt here.
You know, in fact, they'regonna go to Weisenberger trying to run around
the edge Regis calling for a holdon on that edge, didn't get it.
He gets across to forty to aboutthe thirty eight yard line. They
got the edge set. It looklike it could have potentially been a whole
look like that edge rusher for Regiswas reaching out. I think that was
Press Peyton Semmling rather and unfortunately didn'tget the call. Second in about six

(01:35:55):
here for Edgar. Yeah, that'sthe thing with that's the thing with Weisenberger
going up there. He's a reallyhe's a really speedy guy. He's really
able to get once he's kind ofaround that edge, he's really able to
take the top off that defense.Good job to contain, but they're really
riding that hot hand here second andsix here for Edgard and again they're gonna
take as much time off the clockas they can. They're already into kind

(01:36:16):
of that run the clock mode. They'll watch, look for the back judge
to get that count start, andthey will butt running right hits the line
at the thirty six, falls acrossthe thirty five, and gets to the
thirty four yard line. Four yardgame. And right now it's four yards
and a cloud of mud as theymove across the thirty five and bring up

(01:36:36):
third and two. And just agreat job to not let Carter but just
run right through the defense. Theymade a good stop there. But now
with this third down and two,you really need to get something here so
you can get your offense back ontothat field. For regis straight coming up
to the line, straight tee behindhim, butt in the middle of it,

(01:36:59):
fall to the thirty four, orthey need the thirty two for a
first down. There goes the handin the air from the back judge and
he'll wait the count. There itcomes, there comes a handoff, goes
to butt up the gut, getshit, goes across the thirty and boy,
I mean the yards after contacts.I mean, that's to me,
that's the difference in this game.He gets hit at the line almost every
time, despite some good blocking upthere. There's usually a rambler to fill

(01:37:20):
that gap, and then he justbowls him right over. I mean,
he is a powerful, powerful batand it's just good consistent running as well
too. They haven't really had They'vehad one big break and that was in
the right away in that first quarter. Otherwise it spend five to ten yard
like chunk gains Like these aren't hugeruns. Reus is able to stop them,

(01:37:41):
but just not really able to bringdown Carter's. Carter butt has been
the main issue for this defense sofar. Took under ten left to go
first and ten from just inside thethirty of regis here for Edgar twelve nothing
Edgar leaves at fourth quarter. Yeah, the handoff goes to Weisenberger trying to
get around the edge and he getsupended across the twenty maybe up to the
twenty six or so. Believe thatwas no terrorist who up ended him out

(01:38:04):
there, as well, and sosecond and about six coming up is the
safety know of Terris the junior comesin to make the stop. Everett Tait
was close to him as well.Shula out there on the edge. Nine
seven left to go. Fourth quarterand again four yards every time is gonna
get it done for Edgar. Theyneed Regis needs that negative play for Edgar,

(01:38:27):
right. They need to push himbackwards here at some point, and
they had it starting the second half, but just really haven't seen it since
then. We've seen a little momentswhere Edgar's made a couple of mistakes here
and there, and that just justunable to take advantage of any of the
mistakes that Edgar has made. Tonight, we took under nine minutes left to
play, and here is the handoff. They're gonna try to get it around
the right edge here and dragging atackler across the twenty five Who about the

(01:38:49):
twenty two yard line is Jase Applebeckand he'll get three on the play.
Make it third and three now herefor Edgar at the region twenty three yard
line, and just some great blockingout there all night. These guys have
been winning this trench game. TheEdgar Wildcats have been and just so far.

(01:39:10):
You can see it all over thestat sheet. I mean the rushing,
the rushing yards by uh, notonly Weisenberger, but then Carter Butt
as well have been staggering. Imean, right now it's you know,
you need a fumbled snap, fumbledexchange, something to go. Regis his
way, because right now it's Edgarjust kind of moving it down. They're
putting a good but nine guys inthe box. Here is Regius. We'll

(01:39:30):
hand off to Butt left side. He's got a hole, he said.
The ten he beats everybody downfield. No flags, touchdown Edgar. Edgar is
well on the way now with eighteleven left on going to level number three,
they make it eighteen to nothing. You're over reaches with eight eleven left
to go. This rushing attack hasbeen so potent it's just a matter of
time before Carter Butt broke through onthat defense. And what do you know,

(01:39:53):
when they stack nine people up,it just wasn't able to hold him
back. But this defense for Regionshas been able to make these kinds of
stops before. But there's still chancefor this Regious offense to be able to
turn the clock back and really makeit make a stand, make a chance,
take a chance. He need somebig plays, some quick plays,
and that kind of thing, becausewe talked about how even a two touchdown

(01:40:15):
lead felt like a lot against thisEdgar defense. Three touchdowns feels like it's
a mount Everest. You're climbing upif you're regious, and you don't have
a whole heck of a lot oftime to do it either. Two point
conversion attempt. The strake goes undercentral handoff to butt left side. He's
got a hole, bowls over anotherdefender and he reaches the ball out and
gets across the line. So twentyto nothing, Edgar with the lead,

(01:40:36):
eight eleven left to go. Edgar'sstarting to celebrate a little bit on the
sideline here as well. Come backright after this. On Classic Rock ninety

ninety two one. Welcome back onceagain here to Edgar, Wisconsin. Well
it's uh, it's it's now ornever here for Regis. They need to
go on and run his They aredown twenty to nothing to Edgar. Edgar
has run three touchdowns with butt tonightand he has gotten across the line.
He's been you know all all thatwas advertised right now, twenty four touchdowns

(01:41:47):
on the season. A powerful runningback, a smart running back. He
just seems to do everything right onthe offensive side of the ball. And
well Regis bottled them up a littlebit in that first half. Damn they
have not been able to here inthe second half an egg as showing off
why they are so highly touted. And look at that. It's still a
shutout game too. That streek continueson unless we just can break it.

(01:42:11):
And I mean even if they're notable to win, I mean that's still
pretty great to be able to breaka streak. You'd love to do it,
but you know, moral victories inthe playoffs that's the tough part.
Right. They were coming into thisgame feeling pretty confident that it has not
gone their way. That's a greatkickoff. That is going to roll into
the end zone and out to thetwenty yard line, and that'll even get
more momentum, more excitement here onthe sidelines for the Wildcats. Eight eleven

(01:42:34):
remains in a regius means something togo their way. You kind of felt
like it on the last drive, right that Regis threw the ball three times
in a row, and you usuallynever see Regis throw the ball three times
in a row in a season, much less in a series. Yeah,
they've already passed their total past temptslast for last game. I believe those

(01:42:58):
four. So my guess is that'sthe route they go again. They're gonna
go with that four receiver set,one to the right, three to the
left, ball right in the middleof the hash. Mark Weisenberger takes a
snap or does he That ball wasfumbled? Was it just an illegal snap?
Edgar's saying, they have this shouldbe just an illegal snap correct,
he was in the shotgun, soyou can't really fumble from the center.

(01:43:18):
My guess is this gonna be fiveyear penalty. Yeah, this will be
a legal snap and a fall starton Regis, so you can't the other
way that would have been. AndI couldn't tell from here dan Is if
somebody maybe swatted at the ball beforehe snapped it as well. But the
last thing that could have been wasa fumble when when you have the quarterback
in the shotgu I was gonna say, it would have literally have had to

(01:43:40):
bounce like backwards and then bounce forwardsfor that to even have counted as a
fumble. And just I know they'vehad some low snap, but that is
that is beyond low. As Scottyfrom Star Trek would say, you cannot
change the laws of physics. Threereceivers right, one left or ball middle
hash mark first and fifteen. Weisenbergertakes a snap, bringing a little bit
of press on the right side.He goes right, ball over the middle
incomplete right through the hands of IanAndrews in about the twenty five yard line.

(01:44:05):
That'll save o'clock eight oh four leftto go here in the fourth second
and fifteen for Regis down twenty tonothing to Edgar. And that's just another
time where another drop by one ofthese receivers out here. I know they
have playmakers out there to make thosekinds of grabs. However, you wonder
if the elements are starting to setin on these guys now that this game

(01:44:25):
has prolonged. Yeah, you sawthem change the ball out there, because
I think they're saying the ball mightbe a little moneyment, a little wet
out there, spending one of thosestorylines today. Three receivers to the left,
one to the right. Weisenberger throwsit over from a slant route.
That ball has caught my tap outacross the twenty five to about the twenty
six yard line. That's a goodeleven yard game and that gets a little
bit of something going here for Regisseven to fifty two left to go,
fourth quarter, and it'll be thirdand about six here for the Ramblers.

(01:44:48):
And who knows that they get enoughmomentum here, there's still seven minutes left
o'clock, still all three timeouts.Anything can happen. All I'm saying I'll
call it third and five here,as he did get it out across the
twin twenty five yard line, sothird and five for the Ramblers again,
four receivers set one right, threelefts. They did have a quick huddle
there. They probably need to startgoing no huddle. Is this is over

(01:45:10):
to Andrews. He leaps at theforty and it's off his fingertips and complete.
Now you got to go for itright. There's there's no time like
the present, there's no tomorrow, all those things. You've got to get
a first down. Here feels likethis is pretty much the game. It
really does, because if you givethis ball back to them and in their
own territory with a chant with onlyseven minutes left, it's it's pretty much
over, especially if they score againthe ball at the twenty five yard line,

(01:45:34):
seven to twenty five left to go. Fourth quarter, fourth and five,
they need the thirty for a firstdown twenty to nothing Edgar Here in
the fourth quarter, three receivers right, one to the left. They're loading
up that right side. Weisenberger looksright, trips, sets up a screen
caught by Coska. Can he getthe first down? He can't. He
stayed on his feet somehow, someway, somebody missed him. Back at
about the twenty five yard line andhe just kind of kept crawling. It

(01:45:57):
was Butt who missed him and justtripped him up. But he gets the
down out to the thirty one ona six yard game. And that was
just a great play design too, because everyone went for that sack on that
pass rush there not thinking that therecould be a potential for a screen,
and just right away that entire middleof the field was wide open pre receivers
right one left here for Regis sevenminutes left to play here in the fourth

(01:46:19):
and first and ten back to pass. Weisenberger pumps, he steps up,
he's hit trying to get away, and he can't sack back of the twenty
six yard line. That'll be abouta five yard loss on the play.
Apple Beeck was there along with acouple of others including Bomb Gardner. Six
forty five left to go, fourthquarter, and you can tell Regis not
used to running a no huddle offensebecause they're huddling. They're breaking it quickly,

(01:46:42):
but they still have to go backand huddle to get these plays set
up. Second. Yeah, they'rejust not really able to get anything,
really getting really going. It seemslike the nerves are really setting in here
aces formation movement for Regis and boythis is just one of those where the
threads everything's unraveling right now. Forthe Ramblers, it's just tough, right
because they've had obviously a great season. They had that tough loss against Prescott

(01:47:06):
to start the season. Everybody thoughtmaybe the sky was falling, but they
really did a great job, youknow, kind of getting things back to
get back to basics for this crew. They had that tough loss in Adobe,
but some great wins, right StanleyBoyd was a good one. We
saw obviously the win last week againstsomething the plump City. But now all
of a sudden, you can tellthat the season is a slow or is

(01:47:28):
a quickly coming to a potential end. And there's another whistle and another false
start here on Regis, and they'regoing backwards second and twenty one becomes second
and twenty six and the ball nowis going to move back inside the twenty
yard line, and with six thirteenleft to play, this is starting to
get away from the Ramblers. Yeah, this was Edgar defense has just absolutely

(01:47:50):
been putting and putting this offense ofthe Ramblers and fits, I mean,
just everything that they've been able todo to stop this Ramblers team where they've
had chances to start on the onthe Ramblers or on the Wildcats twenty on
the Wildcats thirty just have not beenable to get anything. Weisenberger back to

(01:48:11):
pass pressure coming from the right, ill roll left. He throws for Shula
incomplete and again it's not able tofind an open receiver there down feel always
tough to make that throw rolling toyour left. As arriety now with five
point fifty three left to go herein the fourth third and twenty six left
third and twenty six here for theRamblers back of their own sixteen yard line.
Something I'm surprised about is what iswhy we haven't seen so much play

(01:48:35):
action passes, because that's really whatwas really getting them some good chunk yards.
I mean, they had that onesolid pass to they had that one
solid pass to al Albe to startoff that and nothing since one receiver left
one right. Weisenberger goes back topass looking up now stepping up catch made

(01:48:55):
by Andrews at the twenty five, looking to make a move across the thirty
and then he's wrestled at the thirtytwo. I mean they get back a
good chunk of yards there about whatsixteen yards on the play, and so
this is gonna bring up a fourthand much more manageable than it would have
been. It here for Regis andthey need to go with it, go
for it with five thirty left togo, and it's gonna be interesting to
see what's drawn up here. Iknow last one was a screen. They

(01:49:17):
might be looking for that. Nowthat they have that out of their arsenal,
maybe you see another play action play. This would be the spot to
do it. Fourth and about youknow, a short ten long nine somewhere
in there is they're just the thirtyone yard line here. They need the
forty one for a first down.Weisenberger takes a snap back to pass.
There comes a rusher throws it inyour side. Andrews caught it. Yes,

(01:49:40):
he got his arms under it atthe forty three, and that keeps
Regis the season alive for the timebeing. It's a twelve yard game and
a first down as Andrews traps itright on the near side and gets a
catch in the first down. AndI think that really shows the fight in
this Ramblers team. I mean they'renot ready to go down just and lay
over like We've seen other teams duewhenever they go down twenty nothing. This

(01:50:01):
team wants to continue to play footballand still wants to be able to have
a chance to move on. Onereceiver right, one left. Weisenberger back
to pass, there comes a pressure, steps up, throws a deep Randers
near side at it's just out ofhis reach at the twenty and it's incomplete.
Weisenberger a little bit worse for thewear as he was hit in the
backfield as well by Preston Dalkey.Weisenberger a little slow on the other side

(01:50:26):
as well, just trying to stretchas long as he could to get to
that all just a tad bit ofoverthrown that was that looked so beautiful.
That was almost a perfect play there, and that was gonna net for a
touchdown. But just the pressure byEdgar has just been getting to the backfield
all game long. Interesting here, right, I mean if Begger moves on,

(01:50:47):
you know, I wonder if theEdgar coaching staff is thinking, I
don't know if we'd be upset ifthey scored here, because again you're gonna
have that pressure going into next week, right where you say, okay,
I haven't given up a point sincethen, and when it does happen,
how is that gonna sort of themental makeup of this defense. Bad snap
here to Weisenberger, ball still floatingaround. Edgar's got it at the thirty
five and that's gonna do it.Four thirty eight left to play, Still

(01:51:10):
a lot of time, but athree touchdown lead and now Edgar with it
deep in rageous territory at the thirtyfive yard line on a missnap and Edgar
can now run out the clock andgo on to level three. And there's
been multiple, multiple miss snaps thisgame. There's just been an issue with
either how that ball has been sittingon that ground or how they've been able

(01:51:30):
to really grip and grab and throwthat backward. But either way, this
Edgar teams really showed that their defenseis the real deal against this regius offense
that's been very potent for most ofthe teams they played with all season long.
So Edgar will take over at theregious thirty five yard line, four
to thirty eight left to go,and again they're gonna get revenge. As

(01:51:59):
we talked a little bit o storylinefrom what happened last year. He just
the blowout win at Carson Park turnabout as fair play indeed is there comes
a handoff to Mauer, one ofthe alternate backs here Rock Maer. I
think it's a couple thirty four yardline in fact one, we'll call it
second and nine coming up for theWildcats, and the clock will tick and

(01:52:19):
it will tick down under four minutesbefore they take this next step in this
matchup. That's gonna be Edgar againstBoyceville coming right here. That's gonna be
a really fun matchup to see.Not a far drive for those of you
in the Oak Claire area. AndI'm sure a lot of the folks in
our Classic Rock ninety two to onelistening area or includes boys fil so there'll
be plenty of a chance to goin to check out that Boyceville versus Edgar

(01:52:42):
game. And that's gonna be awell covered, well well played game.
I'm sure that's gonna be a greatone. There, not a bad little
little drive. And I believe Boycevillehas won that game. That is a
final. I do believe, orwe were just told back in studio.
So run here up the middle, get them to about the thirty yard line,
brings up third and five. Yeah, short five long four here for

(01:53:08):
Edgar, and they're gonna get afew of their backups into the game as
well. Gavin Mauer is also checkingin, Will Hackle and a couple others
here is Regis has not been ableto get much going here tonight, and
as we said, Edgar showing offwhy they are the team that they are.
Again we knew coming in they werein certainly good shape having had those

(01:53:35):
shutout games. As a run tothe right side and they'll be wrapped up
in the backfield tackle for loss forRocko. Hackle is the man on the
carry, had a fourth down comingup, and we'll see I'd imagine Edgar
will just go for this. Yeredon't need to punt this one away.
Yeah, just keep the clock runninghere. But say what you want about

(01:53:55):
how this team has ended this seasonoff. Now, they had a really
good season starting off. Obviously theylost that big one to Prescott, but
then they were able to bounce backand really show that there's still that Ramblerts
team that everyone knows and everyone enjoysto watch. Yeah, I get winning
the Clover Belt shared with the MondoviBuffalo. So Boyce Phil a winner.
As we said, so they willhost Edgar next week in Boyce, Phil

(01:54:18):
to try to advance to the statesemi finals. Basically, the level four
strike gonna gonna roll out with thisone, and he's got the first down
that takes a knee when he getsthe first down at about the twenty two
yard line, much to the chagrinof they wanted to see him run that
one in the end zone. Buthe'll just take the knee and run the
clock. And I don't think Regisis in any mood to take a time

(01:54:40):
out so they don't have to takea knee, yere. But basically three
runs and this game is gonna bepretty darn close to being over. Oh
yeah, And by the way, that's just great sportsmanship from straight I know
I know a few players that wouldwant that glory for themselves. I would
get, well, we didn't winenough for me to have that kind of
glory, he said. If Iget in that situation, I'm going to

(01:55:02):
the end zone. Man, we'renot winning enough on this. So again,
twenty to nothing, Edgar with thelead, we're under two minutes left
to play, and Edgar will startto run out the clock as they are
on the way to a win. Here against Regis. And as we said
again, this team got eliminated byRegis last year. Their last state title
was all the way back in twentysixteen. It's been a little bit of

(01:55:23):
time for a team that has somany state titles. Again, they won
the D seven title the same yearthat Regis won the D sixth title in
twenty sixteen as well. So wellthis two teams that were both down there
in Madison that particularly here. Ofcourse, Regis has been back a number
of times since then, but Edgarhas not gotten that win. They got

(01:55:45):
runners up in twenty eighteen and nineteen, but have not been able to hoist
the golden balls since that twenty sixteenseason. Well, now they have a
chance. After this one. Yeah, second down, they need to basically
take two more knee if you will, or two more runs and this game
is over. I'll send in TuckerStrait is the backup quarterback. We'll hand

(01:56:08):
it off. I'll be will riphim down. No'll gain on the play,
maybe a loss of a yard andhackle. I believe the man on
the carry back judge, this isgonna be it. I think they've got
to run one more play. Officially, that clock was not under forty when
he was tackled about a forty fivefifty somewhere in there. Edgar fans will

(01:56:29):
rise to their feet and Edgar, with one more snap, will take a
twenty to nothing win and they'll continuethe scoreless streak that they started back on
August twenty fifth, and a bigmatchup coming up against Boyce Bill next week
in Level three. They take aknee and that'll do it. We'll take
a quick break, come back atthe post game show right after this is

Edgar, Wisconsin, Oaklare. Regisends their season with a twenty to nothing
lost to Edgar here in level twoof the Division seven State Tournament. Pete
Connectson with Dan z on Schotzackaback andStudio. That's gonna do it for us
on our Classic Rock coverage this season. I believe that Boyceville versus Egger game
will be aired over on Moose Countryone O six to seven next week.
They'll follow uh Boyceville as long asthey go, certainly, and so that

(01:58:02):
will continue. But Dan he talkedabout it. Regis a tough start to
the season. Again, there wassort of the you know, the sky
is falling approach early in this season. I think some people thought, I
don't know if they thought Regis wouldn'tmake the playoffs, but they certainly thought
maybe not win the clover Belt thatsort of thing. They bounced back great,
could win last week. But thisAgurg team, man, that defense
was They're impressive, right, Imean that's you talk about it in the

(01:58:25):
playoffs, right. The idea ofdefense travels all those kind of things.
But defense can win you a statetitle. And if that defense continues to
play how they are, it doesn'tmatter what you do on offense. You
shut teams down, you got apretty good chance to win. And I
mean that's the thing too. Regisdoesn't have like a Reis doesn't have a
bad defense whatsoever. They're very stingy. They played sting against Elmwood Plumb City.
I mean that fifty to sixteen lossspeaks for it or fifty to sixteen

(01:58:46):
win speaks for itself. However, they just were unable. The thing is,
you can only hold an offense forso long as a defense, no
matter how good your defense is.If your offense doesn't score points, you're
not gonna be able to really holdfor much longer. And they had their
chances to really get something going. But still this still has to be looked
as a successful season. Certainly, does I believe you say, chipwe got

(01:59:11):
that win over Nino? Is thatthe case? No? Unfortunately we lost
so Nino. With the win overat Chipwa twenty one to nothing. Tonight,
New Richmond did defeat Menominee thirty sixto fifteen, and it was a
win for boysflus Lega pretty much whatBoyceville New Richmonds are kind of the only
two area teams that are left. There might be a couple others here and
there, but sort of in theOaklar region, that's about all you've got
left there as well in the RichmondI'm sorry New Richmond forty two nominee fifteen,

(01:59:34):
there's seven minutes left there, butNew Richmond well on the way to
a win in that one. Well, all right, Dan, it's been
a lot of fun doing this withyou this season. I know you'll get
back to doing Bluegolds games over onthe YAX Sports Network. I'll be over
on doing some stout games as well. We'll getting to winter seasons and do
all that. But hopefully we getto do this again next year. And
yeah, a lot of fun.Yeah, for sure. It was a

(01:59:55):
lot of fun. It was agreat time, great season as well,
