This is where the party is at. Tonight in western wiscottson live from Boyceville.
It's high school football action on MooseCountry one oh six point seven this
evening. It's the Level three roundof the D seven WIAA tournament. And
as it's the number two seed EdgarWildcats against the number one seed Boyceville Bulldogs.

(00:24):
I'm Scott Monosano. Welcome to youtoo. High school football coverage presented
by the Stolecraft Company Kitchen and Tap. We'll have kickoff coming up at seven,
and before then we'll get you setup with this matchup. It feels
real now, like the day afterThanksgiving and those Christmas songs begin to hit

(00:46):
and the snow looks fluffier. Youknow, the holidays have arrived. That
is the case now in terms ofthe postseason in Wisconsin high school football.
As once we hit the third roundas we tonight, a trip to Madison
and an appearance in a state championshipgame is very much a real possibility.

(01:08):
You're two wins away from getting theMadison you are three wins away from winning
it all. Thus far, inthe northwestern side of the D seven bracket,
the top seeds have validated their spotsand that sets up this matchup tonight
featuring a number two seeded Edgar teamand the number one seeded Boyceville team.

(01:33):
Winner moves on to the semi finalsnext week. And as we'll discuss,
this is a game because of thetwo defenses that and don't laugh about this,
this could very well feel like it'sa sudden death matchup right from the
start. First one to six wins. Now, let's start off with Boyceville.

(01:53):
This is the best season for thisprogram in decades. Won the outright
Saint Croix Conference title, first timein more than sixty years that they have
done that. The oldest citizens can'tremember the last time they had won the
conference crown. Outright. This isa program that went winless about eight years

(02:15):
ago, a program that's very muchon the rise, and they got by
Spring Valley not once but twice.Spring Valley's been really the gold standard of
this conference for the last decade andBoyceville beat him not once but twice.
That is definitely added to their confidence. Now Boyceville has an outstanding defense,

(02:42):
only fifty three total points allowed.Only once have they allowed a team to
score more than once against them ina game. They allowed twelve points to
call Fax early in the year ingarbage time. Other than that, they'll
allow a touchdown here or there, but they allow teams to get much against
them, and in fact, inthe postseason just three points allowed on a

(03:06):
long field goal in week number one. Now we talk about the defense,
the passing game is very much athreat for this Boyceville team. We have
not seen it as much as theseason's gone deeper, but weather is good
tonight and they may very well needthat passing game because it is a threat

(03:27):
to be able to go over thetop of defenses, which might be necessary
today against Edgar. We'll talk aboutthat in a moment. But here's where
Carson rome Heel, the sophomore quarterbackwho's been very good, and Caden Wold,
who's got that big play capability asa wide receiver, is so key.
Now let's talk about Edgar. Underthe direction of the legendary head coach

(03:52):
Jerry Sins, they are back yetagain in level three of the playoffs.
Routinely they reach this level the semisstate championship games and win it all.
A lot of deep playoff runs andchampionships for a program unlike Boyceville. That
pretty much it's a FATA complete thatthey're going to be playing in the November

(04:13):
year after year. They are verymuch a football school and football town and
they've backed it up for the lastfive decades under Jerry Sis. Now Edgar,
what do they do. They doit via defense. They have not
allowed any points since Week two. That is nine straight games we have shutouts.

(04:35):
They shut out their entire conference slateand also two playoff games. Last
week, Edgar shutout Regis. Weknow how good Regis can be here in
western Wisconsin. Edgar shut them out. Now, Regis drove a bunch of
times in that game and got intothe red zone, but could not finish

(04:56):
off drives and also missed a fieldgoal in the game. Still, Edgar
has been suffocating on defense and eventhough Regis may have moved the ball a
bit last week, they still wereslowed by this Edgar team. Edgar can
also put some points on the board. You get to this level, you're
gonna have a great defense and you'regonna be able to score. And for

(05:18):
Edgar, it all begins with CarterButt. The standout running back that they
have, a punishing runner is Carterbut twenty four total touchdowns on the year,
nearing thirteen hundred yards on the ground. So it's Boyceville and Edgar.
Tonight winner will get either castion orbanger on a neutral site next week.

(05:44):
Does Edgar, a legendary program, chalk up another run to the semi finals
or does Boyceville, having the program'sbest run in decades, continue this dream
season. We'll find out. Startingat the top of the ow. We'll
do right now is step aside, take a break. When we come back,
we'll go over some keys to thegame. We'll go first in goal

(06:06):

tastier in this town. And ifthe Boysville Bulldogs get pick up this level
three round three playoff win here athome taking on Edgar again, Edgar,
They've been here before, Boyceville. This program's deepest run in decades. This
should be a fun one. ScottMonasano back with you on this chilly but

(07:43):
still very comfortable November evening. Itbecomes very real now as far as the
playoffs go. You're not just inthe playoffs. You've got a legit shot
to win at all once you getto this level. Let's go through tonight's
keys to the game. First andgoal, if you will. We start
off on first down, defense andwe start with defense. For Boyceville.

(08:05):
Defense has been so good for Boycevillethis year. They only have the three
shutouts on the season do the BoycevilleBulldogs, but they don't allow many points.
They'll allow six or seven points hereor they're a very good defense for
the Boyceville Bulldogs. Zach Hellen drunkeighty six tackles on the year, nineteen

(08:28):
for a loss. Moving on,you've got the Edgar Wildcats. Second down.
Edgar's defense nine consecutive shutouts for theEdgar Wildcats, they have not allowed
any points since Week number two, shut out their entire conference late and a
pair of playoff games as well.Moving on the third down, because of
what I just said when we're talkingabout the defense is very much scoring first

(08:54):
in this game is going to beso key. This don't laugh. This
could very well feel like it's suddendeath. First team to score wins.
You laugh about it, but there'sdefinitely a little bit of seriousness to that
as well. Neither one of theseteams, because of their defense, gives
up leads. Look at what Boycevilledid just three weeks ago against Spring Valley.

(09:16):
Once they got the lead against SpringValley in that final regular season game,
that game was over with and Edgarvery much the same way. You
fall behind on them, it's gonnabe very hard to chase points. And
finally moving on to fourth down,Cayden Wold, that is the X factor
in this game. Cayden Wold withthe Boyceville Bulldogs. We talk about defense

(09:41):
and all of that, and bothteams got good quarterbacks Teagan Street for Edgar,
Carson rome Heald for Boyceville. Bothteams have got good running games as
well. But Cayden Wold will bean interesting X factor today. Wold the
senior wide receiver for Boyceville. Bigplay capabilities, We've seen it the last
few weeks. Fifty yard touchdown receptions, punt returns for touchdowns, that is

(10:07):
gonna be key. Does he geta big play broken off in Tonight's game,
that could be As I said, that X factor tonight once again.
Winner Tonight moves on to the semifinals against either Cashton or Bangor next week
out of neutral site. We'll havekickoff of this game coming up right after
this. It's gonna be Level threeof the playoffs, Boyceville at home against

(10:31):

I'm here our friend Tyler back atthe play Shield Studios and you are there
on this Friday night. The EdgarWildcats ten and one overall. They lost
their first game of the year, eight to six at larger Ellsworth. Since

(12:54):
then, they've been dominating, includingnine consecutive shutouts. Meanwhile, the Boysville
Bulldogs eleven and zero, best seasonin decades for this program or the direction
of longtime head coach Michael Rome.Healed. Here we go and the seeds
have been validated. The first coupleof weeks. Two seeded Edgar at number

(13:16):
one seed Boyceville. And as Ihave said, and I say it not
tongue in cheek, I say itseriously. This could be the first team
to score wins. Boyceville will getthe ball first when we get kickoff here
in about two minutes from now.Temperatures are in the forties. They will
dip into the mid thirties. Butagain, as nice of a night as

(13:39):
you could really draw up in November, no threat of rain or anything like
that. Nearly all of the seatsare on the near side of us where
you and I are situated. Thereare some kind of small little league like
bleachers on the side opposite of us, but most people are on the set

(14:00):
iowhere you and I are on thisFriday night. Edgar always travels well.
It's a football town, it's afootball school. They have a deep amount
of support there, so they alwaystravel very well. Jerry Sids in his
forty ninth year as the head coachof the Edgar Wildcats two thousand and three
State Coach Hall of Famer. Hewas in the Hall of Fame in two

(14:22):
thousand and thirty. He's in thisStout Hall of Fame as of two thousand
and six. His son Justin playedafter due and has helped out on the
coaching staff as well. Any seasoncould be his last. He's openly discussed
contemplating retirement for the last few years. Not as shock if he ever does

(14:43):
retire, not as shock when hereturns as well. They finished introducing both
of the teams. Edgar's gonna bewearing their green helmets, their white tops,
and their green pants. Meanwhile forBoyceville, black helmets, black tops,
and dark blue bottoms. In thefirst quarter, Boyceville's gonna head from

(15:07):
right till left across the radio dialor listening device and thanks to the iHeart
app, people can be tuned infrom anywhere. Let's say hello to the
folks listening tonight and oh, Idon't know Hittsfield, Massachusetts. Well,
Boyceville will get the first crack. On offense. Nick Olson and Zach hellen

(15:28):
Drung have been so good running theball, but the ability of Carson Rome
held to maybe hit Caden Wold forsome big passes will be big. Harrison
Gravine does the kicking for Edgar,a straight on kicker. He's an offensive
guard and also kicks. He'll meetboot to ball and away we go,
end over and kick. Wold willtake it at his ten for Boyceville.
Shimmy's past the twenty kicks to theright side of the sideline, gets to

(15:52):
the thirty yard line, and spundown past the thirty near the thirty five,
so good field position for Boyceville toget things under way. Reis moved
the ball a bit. I guessEdgar but could not finish off drives last
week, so that's something to keepin mind. Again, nobody has scored

(16:15):
against Edgar since week number two.Carson Rome held will leave the offense for
Boyceville fifty eight percent completion percentage hasn'tbeen passing as much though the last few
weeks. He's under center first andten from the thirty four and off to
Helen Drung. He's over the thirtyfive to the thirty six, a gain

(16:36):
of a couple Jack Kellen Drunk ZachHelen Drunk. Nearing one hundred rushes on
the year, he has been calledon more in the last few weeks,
averaging more than seven yards per carry, six touchdowns. Second down and eight
from the thirty six coming up forBoyceville. Boyceville cheerleaders on the track below

(16:59):
us that circles the grass field, which is held up well had some snow
earlier this week. In the areaunder center is Carson Romeld two bats behind
him. Snap hand off goes toOlson through the line on the right side.
He'll get to the forty yard linefor a game of four, and
that'll set up a third down andfour. When you're talking about both defenses,

(17:25):
you're saying the same thing for bothteams. They don't they don't allow
you to extend drive. So whois going to be able to extend drives?
And who doesn't? Third down andfour. As we get this game
underway, Boyceville has won their games, by the way, by an average
of thirty three points. Boyceville hasnot been in a lot of tight ones

(17:45):
this year, that's for sure.Third down and four from their own forty
romeal under center, wide receivers plitthe each side. Balls fumbled in the
backfield, Helen Drong has to diveback on it. They'll lose a couple
of yards and Boysville is gonna gothree and now to open up the game
and have to boot the ball away, and looked as though as Rome Heald

(18:07):
came out of the under center theball slipped away from him as slippery as
a salmon covered in vasileen. Thankfullyfor Boyceville, though Ellen Drunk was able
to flop on it prevent a turnoverthere and Wold will be on the punt
standing at his own twenty five yardline. Carter Butt Hegan Street had to
return back at their thirty yard line. Wol takes a knee high snap,

(18:32):
gets the punt away. Balls fumbledon the UH ball's three at the thirty
three of Boyceville, but boys wasgonna fall on it. Teagan Street,
the quarterback who also returns kicks forEdgar, had the ball go through his
hands, off his belly button andflop down between his feet, but he

(18:53):
was able to flop on it rightthere, like a like a kid falling
on top of their teddy bear asthey fall off of the bed. It'll
be first in ten for Edgar attheir own thirty three yard line. Is
they'll get their first possession in thisscoreless game in the opening couple of minutes,

(19:15):
Tagan Street fifty nine percent completion percentage, doesn't throw the ball that much,
though a lot of it's Carter, but who's nearing two hundred rushes on
the year. Street though, takesa shotgun snap, rolls out near side.
There's a flag on the play ashe's battled up by Nickols and gets
some help from his friends. Acouple of yards on the carry for tiague

(19:36):
in Street. But we'll see whatthe flag is throwing round the line in
the vicinity of a hold, andthat's what you would assume here, and
that is the case, a wholenon Edgar, which will push them back.
So that'll end up setting up asecond down and twenty Boysville. Not

(20:02):
only does Edgar travel well, buttheir student body comes as well, and
number of the students are down intoour left. Meanwhile, the Boysville students
are down into our right. Withthe penalty, the balls marched back at
the twenty four yard line. Solet's call it first down in twenty for

(20:22):
Edgar Deagan Street will go under centeragain. Carter butt neeering two hundred rushes
on the year. They'll hand itoff here, big caner for Carter bud.
He's got the first down of thefar side of the line past the
thirty five. I shouldn't say he'sgot the first doubt he gets past the
original line of scrimmage, gets pastthe thirty five, I'll pass the forty
and he's near the first down markerat the forty four yard line. A

(20:45):
late flag came in and we'll seewhat the call is right now, it's
either second down and extremely short.Ah, it's a sideline warning on Boyceville.
Now the eyeball if it's enough forthe first down, and they're gonna
have to call for a measurement here. So he gained twenty it's a matter

(21:07):
of whether he got just enough toget the first down or if it's gonna
be second down in the length ofa baby's toenail. Meanwhile, the flag
was just for a sideline warning onBoyceville. But Carter but regardless whether it's
the first down or not, animpactful run right away. The kind of

(21:30):
set a tone there, and he'sgot the first down, by the way.
So on first and twenty, Carterbutt picks up twenty yards and it's
a first down for Edgar Carter Buttonagainst a good regious defense last week had
a big week. Carter Bud's beenthe catalyst of the Edgar offense since he

(21:52):
was a sophomore, and he's nowa senior. Street under center, pitches
it to the outside, finds ColbyWise, gets on the far sideline past
the forty five and broad down. After a gain of four yards on the
play, it'll be second down andsix second from their own forty seven yard

(22:12):
line, eight forty five to go. In the opening quarter, Boyceville went
three and out on their first possession. Again, best pro best season of
this program and as long as theoldest citizens can't remember, and they want
to keep it going. Under centerTiagan Street for Edgar, fakes the gift,

(22:34):
rolls out near side, thinks abouttalking and under being chased. He's
gonna get back to the last scrimmage, hits the near sideline and runs out
of Bouds after a short gain.Nickolson was there to escort him out of
Bouds. Gained a couple of yardson the plane. It sends up a
third down and four so a coupleof times. Now Tiegan Street has gone

(22:57):
for the past, but good jobby Boyceville on sort of coverage sacks third
down and four from right at midfieldfor Edgar. Edgar converting nearly fifty percent
of their third downs this year.Carry up the middle to Carter Butt,

(23:17):
lowers his shoulder a collision at theline. He falls ahead and has the
first down. I believe he neededfour. He's gonna get four and a
half at Edgar into plus territory hasfirst in ten at the Boyceville forty six
yard line. Edgar has gone somebig plays early from Carter Bud and Boyceville

(23:41):
will have to figure out a wayto slow him down now again they've slowed
down his Boyceville other big time runningbacks like Spring Valley's Diego Smith. The
Carter Budd is a wider, biggerbody. First and ten from the plus
forty six hand off, Kobe Weisbergergoes to the far sidees to Farms the
man he's in the forty has thefirst down inside the thirty five and his

(24:03):
wrestle down just shy of the thirtyyard line on a game of fifteen.
On the play in a first downfor Edgar seven forty five to go in
the opening corner zero zero. ButEdgar is driving and it's a drive that
began after Tiaguan Street nearly fumbled awayto punt at his own thirty yard live

(24:25):
was lucky to fall back on topof it, sort of like spilling your
own meatball onto the floor, butit didn't land on the carpet. He
got lucky lading on the hardwood.Four. You could wipe that away.
First and ten from the plus thirtythree for Edgar. As they drive down
to our right and off, CarterBought tripped in the backfield. The lunges

(24:47):
ahead and has maybe a yard onthe play. Good play by Peter Wielden,
who got in there and bit himon the ankles, wheeled in the
six to two senior on the tackleis seventy first tackle on the year.
Dude, give him a yard andit'll be second down and nine. Who
you and I are watching this game, by the way, in the last

(25:10):
roll of bleachers, because it's playoffs. Er every bit of your attentions on
the field. Though when you takea moment, it's hot chocolate weather.
It is chili all right. TeagonStreet under center fakes the game, steps
up in the pocket, now throwsover the metal diving attempt for the first
down. The twenty is incomplete. He had a guy open at the twenty

(25:32):
yard line who had found a softspot there, but he threw behind him
and incomplete, and it'll be thirddown and nine from the plus thirty one
for Edgar and Edgar converting fifty threepercent of their third downs. They're staying
on the field, so that isso big in a game like this,

(25:52):
and likely two down territory from thethirty one yard line in plus territory,
so they don't need all nine backsix thirty nine to play in the first
quarter zero zero of this round threeplayoff game. Quarterback under center, two
backs behind him, and off toWeisenberger's got the first down right through the

(26:15):
right side of the line as hemissiles his way for ten yards inside of
the twenty to the nineteen yard linewith all the play is a first down
ball spotted. A lot of theruns by Edgar, I have a slight
bit of a misdirection to them, and that is opening up big gaps in

(26:37):
the otherwise very thick defensive line ofBoyceville. First and ten for Edgar at
the eighteen yard line, straight willhand it off to but going through the
left side, he's wrapped up keepsthe legs moving, bodies tumble, and
he'll fall ahead in a sea ofteenage boy bodies. Down at the fifteen

(26:59):
yard line are a wild game offour. He can, but going down
it's like imploding a an old hIt's like imploding a closed Mall things go
in, but there's all the dustinand debris. It doesn't happen cleanly.

(27:22):
Second down and six again to Carter, but through the medal, he's got
a big game. Inside of tendown to the five wars his shoulder times
across the goal line, and he'sin touchdown. Touchdown Edgar. Carter,
but from fifteen yards down just justbulldozed his way over the Boyceville defense,
and Edgar takes the six to zerolead with five thirty three to play in

(27:48):
the first quarter on the weirds gallopplumbing and heating scoreboard. So Edgar scores
first, and if Boyceville is goingto win, they're gonna have to play
comeback football against an Edgar team thatis not out a point. Since August
Edgar will go for two. Nosmall feet in a game like this,
street fakes the gift rolls out nearside being Chase flings it towards the end

(28:11):
zone backed away. Big play byKate by uh who cut across there.
That's gonna be landing. Leslie, the sophomore cornerbacker, came across and broke
up the pass, so the twopoint conversion fails. However, Boisboil's got
to play comeback football. Edgar drivesnearly seventy yards now with five thirty three

(28:33):
to play in the first quarter.Edgar has a six zero lead. It's
Boyce Bill Ball when we come backin thirty seconds on Moose Country one oh
six point seven. Hey, thisVeterans Day, iHeartRadio is sending a big

sacrifices. From everyone at the Yorkstre Metal Roofing, thank you for your
commitment and service. I'll remember oneof the keys of the game I says

(29:18):
this could very well be because ofthe defense of both sides sudden death.
Hell Boyceville is hoping that doesn't playout, because Edgar on their opening possession,
goes more than seventy yards and takesa six zero lead five point thirty
three to play in the opening corner. Scott Montasano with you bundled up on

(29:38):
this Friday in November. Now we'reonly a few weeks away from the snow
being a little fuffier in the Christmasseason being upon us. Well, Boyceville
ball in just a moment, asHarrison Gravine Will meet boot to ball for
Edgar sends the ball down to ourright, high end, over end cack
pad to take it is Rome heelfor Brandon, Rome heel for boys Will.

(30:00):
He fumbled the ball on the catchand has the fallback on it and
his fifteen yard line. Now Boycevillea little rattled right now. One of
the rare times they have been rattledthis year. They've fallen behind six to
zero and now we'll have to figureout a way to try to go eighty

(30:21):
five yards if they want to equalizethis game. At the very least,
they're gonna want to get a coupleof first downs to move field position.
Carson Rome healed, will be undercenter, two backs behind him. Aden
Waltz put out far to the farside, here to his right inside hand

(30:41):
off to Nick Olson. Olsen passedthe twenty yard line and spun down,
go right at the twenty. We'llgive him five yards. It'll be second
down and five. Olson a seniorthat there are some skilled guys with this
Boyceville team that are under classmen, like the quarter like Cayden Wold, the
wide receiver. But there's also seniorsand whatnot. And while the future is

(31:04):
bright for Voicemil, the future isis meaningless at this point for especially those
seniors. It's all about tonight.Second down and five from their own twenty
for Boycevil, hand off Helen Drunkoff the right side. He's got the
first down of the twenty five andpopped right at the twenty six man Helen

(31:26):
Drunk will be a little slow toagain up. He was running straight up
and that was like watching a dumptruck go right into a cement wall.
And he is still down and writhingaround in pain. Game six, he'll
have the first down, but themedical team will be out to take a

(31:47):
look at the sophomore Zach Helen drunk. While they look at him, we'll
step aside for thirty seconds. Fourforty three to play in the first quarter,
six to zero in favor of Edgaron most country one oh six point

ten from their own twenty six.But concern now for Zach Helendrug, big
running back and big factor on thedevisive side for them, got injured on

(32:51):
the last play and it looks likehe's really favoring his laugh of leg When
he ran into a Edgar defender,he stopped almost immediately in What you worry
about is perhaps he got his legsstuck in the turf in the grass here
and did some damage to the leftlight. They're gonna look at him on

(33:13):
the near sideline, and you hopeagain it's just a matter of twisting in
the wrong direction and stunning yourself atnothing significant. Meanwhile, before Boyceville can
take a snap here flag and it'sgoing to be a delay of game on
Boyceville. Michael Romildo, coach forboy have to get his team and sort

(33:37):
of refocused here again. You know, Hellen drunks a big part of your
offense, but unlike some other teamsat this level, he's not the only
part of their offense. They dohave other options. Well, you do
hope it's nothing serious for Helen drunkthat you know. I went to a
private college, a good private college, but I'm not a DoD First in

(34:02):
fifteen from their own twenty one, stepping up in the pocket, his Rollmeald
throws far side the line. Hefinds a man in Devil and Holama who
gets back to the line of scrimmagefor a gain of five, and they'll
set up a second down and tenfrom the twenty six from their own twenty
six. Yeah, when Allen Drounwas running, as we said, he

(34:25):
it was like a dumb truck goinginto a cement wall. He just stopped
immediately as he got hit by anEdgar player. And sometimes if ninety percent
of your body is still moving butten percent is in namely a leg,
that's when sometimes an injury can occur. But again, you just help some
type of hyper extension or whatever positiveaspect of that could have occurred. Carson

(34:51):
Romeield hands it on an end arounda Brandon Rollmeield coming wider than the ear
sigh. A lot of running forjust a short gain. He could not
quite turn the edge tracked down byMaverick. But the sophomore defensive back for
Edgar just a couple of yards onthe carry, and I'll set up a
third down and eight from their owntwenty seven. So third down and eight

(35:14):
for Boyceville three forty counting in thefirst quarter, six zero Edgar. They
well, they've taped up Hellen drunkon the near sideline and he's trying to
jog a bit on the track. He's picking up his helmet. That young
man wants to play some more, and if the adults give the clearance,
he'll go back in shotgun for Carsondrome. He'll takes the shotgun snap looking far

(35:38):
side. Now steps Apy slipped backin his own fifteen, can't recollect himself,
and he is dragged down at hisown twelve. He tried to step
up as he would one sack, but he's slipped in the grass, and
then by that time he was sackedin the backfield by But I'll lost back

(35:59):
to their own twelve yard line forBoyceville, and Boyceville's gonna have to punt
it away and give Edgar some greatfield position. Here, Deegan Street and
Carter butt back at the fifty yardline. Woll stands right at the goal
line to punt this one away.Takes the knee high snap, gets Ah

(36:21):
the kicks blot and the ball willgo into the end zone and out of
bounds. That'll be a safety.Edgar leads eight zero. We have two
thirty two to go in the firstquarter, and they're about to get the
ball back. It is eight zero. Edgar we have two thirty two to

(36:46):
go in the first quarter, andthey're also gonna get the ball back following
the safety. So Caden Rold gotthe snap. I'm trying to see who
was the one who got his handon it for Edgar. But as he

(37:10):
went to go kick it away, there was an Edgar player and it didn't
look like there was great pressure onWold or anything, but out of nowhere
somebody with frequently long arms as oh, he extended them like a salamander able
to extend itself on the grass. He was able to at the last second

(37:31):
get a palm on it and whackthat ball off his hand through the end
zone and out of bounds. Well, Zach Helendrun is a positive sign for
Boyceville is back out there. Hedoes the kickoff duties for Boyceville, and
he's gonna kick off here. Andthe game feels a little bit on the

(37:53):
lip right now. It's still aone possession game. But if Edgar comes
down and scores again, he withtheir defense, oh, you know,
deal like trying to go up hilland you don't have a lot of gas
in the tank. Here's a groundball kick by Carter Buck picked up at
the forty four. Edgar brought acrossthe fifty and they all started plus territory

(38:16):
at about the forty five yard lineof Boyce butil the free kick, by
the way, following the safety takesplace at the twenty yard line. Hence
the reason you're gonna get that greatfield position if you are Edgar. Yeah,
you give up up. You giveup a score here to Edgar and
be down two scores against that defense. It's like trying to drive on Tulane

(38:43):
County roads and you don't have amap to direct you under center Tiaguan Street
and off to Carter Butt spins throughthe line stage on his feet and is
able to dive ahead for a gainof eight. On the play. He
was hit at the line and hewas about seventy five percent of the way
down for most of that run.But a great job churning the legs and

(39:08):
defying gravity and not going down.Somebody get a scientist on this. Just
didn't fall down. Second down inthree from the plus thirty nine for Edgar.
Late in the first quarter, theylead eight zero straight and off to
Weisenberger through the line of the biggains hits in their sideline inside the twenty

(39:30):
yard line of the fifteen and frombehind Cayden Wolden is able to pull him
down at the twelve yard line.A gain of twenty seven on the play,
and Edgar in business again. Eightzero Edgar with one forty two a

(39:51):
play in the first quarter, andthey are driving Edgar by the way dismantled
glen Wood City a couple of weeksago. That's the only common opponent.
Carter Butt shash chase this way throughthe line, wrap him the ankles,

(40:13):
stays on his feet, dregs adefender inside the ten, inside the five
to the four yard line, Agame of nine on the play, and
it'll be second down in a yard. Boyceville's had no answer for stopping this
Edgar offense. They're getting bodies onCarter Butt, but they're like mosquitoes landing

(40:38):
on a sun bather's shoulder. Theyhaven't been able to do much damage.
Second down in the yard from insidethe five, hand off, the Carter
Butt lowers the shoulder, bangs overa defender and he's in the end zone.
Touchdown for Edgar and they lead fourteento zero with forty four seconds to

(40:59):
play in the first quarter. CarterBut with his second touchdown run of the
game, his twenty sixth touchdown ofthe season. It's fourteen zero in favor
of Edgar, and they'll go fortwo, as they almost always will,
though occasionally Harrison Gravine will kick extrapoints. Tagan Street will be under center.

(41:27):
Street hand off Carter, but warsa shoulder again, bangs off a
defender and he's in. Two pointconversion is good for Edgar and they lead
sixteen zero zero. Well, it'ssixteen zero in favor of Edgar. Will
keep it here with forty four secondsto play in the opening quarter and the

(41:50):
Boysville Bulldogs. We talk about howgood the defense has been, Well,
now here's the opportunity for the offense, the offensive side of them to try
to shine, because if they're gonnawin this game, they're gonna have to
do something nobody else has done againstEdgar this year, and that is a
score more than once. Edgar hashad nine straight shutouts. They allowed six

(42:15):
points in week number two. Theyallowed eight points in an eight sixth loss
in Week one to much larger Ellsworth. But this Boyceville team has had an
explosive offense this year, and whiledefensively they may be struggling. Maybe they
are able to turn the tide herewith their offense. This is maybe where

(42:37):
that dangerous passing game that Boyceville hadfor most of the season will have to
step back up again. Sixteen tozero Edgar leaves with forty four seconds to
play in the first quarter. BoysFIL's had two drives, and on both
drives they have not gone far.Have not helped them either. Hall Harrison

(43:02):
Gravine to boot it away for Edgar. He'll sling that right leg a straight
on kick. Cayden walled up totake it at his twenty yard line of
the twenty five near side, stops, tries to find some room, gets
past the thirty yard line and hasscored it out of bounds near his own
thirty five. Thirty nine seconds togo in the first quarter, Boysville will

(43:28):
start off right around their own thirtyfive yard line. Well, this is
the first time all year Boyceville hasbeen down by multiple scores. How do
they respond? I don't know they'regonna respond. You and I are gonna

(43:49):
find out together. First and tenfor Boyceville at their own thirty five,
moving right to left, Carson Romeheld in the shotgun three wide Edgar showing
blitz, takes a snap hand offNick Olson Olsen through the line. He's
able to throw a couple of defendersto the side with his left hand scratches
his way for a short gain ofa couple could very well be the last

(44:14):
play of the first quarter if Boysvilledoesn't want to hurry here, they have
got a second down and eight fromtheir own thirty seven. We're all healed
into the huddle. We have twelveon the clock, and now they look
over at the scoreboard and realize there'sno need to have to try to rush
this, so we'll hit the endof the first quarter. In this Round

(44:36):
three playoff game, the Edgar Wildcatsleading the number one seed Boyceville Bulldogs by
a score of sixteen zero. Boycevilletrying to get back into the game when
we come back in sixteen seconds onMoose Country one oh six point seven.

the first quarter of that playoff game. Here at Boyceville High School, Scott

(46:06):
Montsano with you. Boyceville Bulldogs, number one seed having some fits against the
number two seed, but legendary EdgarWildcats. It's sixteen zero. Edgar Boyceville
has the ball second down and sixfrom their own thirty nine as they now
move from left to right across yourmind's eye against Scott Montasano. Here,

(46:28):
our friend Tyler back at the PlayshieldStudios. Carson rome held in the shotgun
for Boyceville, takes the high snap, steps back, looks, throws deep
far side, and he and CadenWold had miscommunicated. Wold kept going on
a go route at around the fortyyard line of Edgar, and Romeo thought

(46:51):
he was going to turn around, maybe be there for a comeback route of
some sort, and it becomes athird down and six or Boyceville. A
lot of the starts in the crowdfrom the Boyceville sideline obviously taken out with

(47:15):
how that first quarter went, theoffense not moving the ball and not much
resistance on that Boyceville. The Boycevilledefense to that Edgar offense, Romilde shotgun
snap inside handoff, Olson passed theforty yard line, passed the forty five
for a first down, and pulleddown from behind inside the fifty yard line

(47:37):
by Coleby Wisenberger of Edgar in afirst down for Boyceville. Exact Hellen Drug
having gotten banged up on that lastdrive, he's out there now, by
the way, if you wonder ifthere'll be more carries for Nick Olsen,
who had been getting the bulk ofthe carries prior to the last couple of
weeks, and Olsen averaging more thaneight yards per carry this year with eleven

(48:00):
touchdowns. First down run there inthe plus territory, first in ten for
Boyceville at the plus forty nine yardlive Romild under center, two backs behind
him, hand off Helen Drunk, two hands on the ball. Is he
bowling balls his way for a gameof four to the Edgar forty five yard

(48:23):
line. As Helen Drunk gets up, he glimps a bit back to the
huddle. And obviously you don't wantany type of long term pain for the
young man, but not a thinglike this. With the adrenaline the way
it is, and with the factthat there is no safety net, you'll
lose and it's over tonight. Youknow that young man wants to play,
and as long as the adults givethe go ahead, you have to trust

(48:45):
them that they know what they're doing. Second down and seven from the plus
forty six Romield hands it to Olson, this time trying to come off the
right side, cuts back on themedal. He's inside the thirty yard line
and then wrapped up by a coupleof defenders. After a big game Preston
Dalkie, the senior for Edgar onthe tackle, but a game of sixteen

(49:08):
on the play of first and tenfor Boyceville. First things first, you
want to first things first. Yeah, if you want to eat walnuts at
the holiday party, you've got tocrack the walnut. And if you want
to come back tonight, the firstthing you've got to do is snap that
streak of shutouts that Edgar has.So that's the first thing for Boysville.

(49:30):
They can't score sixteen points. Thatcan't score twice without scoring once. First
and ten from the thirty yard linein flags here as somebody jumped for Boyceville.
So this will be the third offensivepenalty that Boyceville has had in this
game. Now, when you commitpenalties against this Edgar defense, it's like

(49:54):
trying to play the video game DickDoug, but with your with eye closed,
you're unnecessarily making something that's already difficulteven more difficult. First in fifteen,
from the Edgar thirty five yard line. Two backs, one white out

(50:15):
to the near side. That's CaydenWold and off to Olson cuts back up
the middle. He's into the thirtyof their sunline. To the twenty,
the fifteen, he's got a pokerin front of them. Now the five
he's in touchdown, touchdown to theice cool Bold hoons thirty five yard touchdown
run for Nickolson and Boyceville becomes thefirst team since it was still summer to

(50:42):
score against the Edgar Wildcats nick Olsonfrom thirty five yards out now if nine
thirty eight to play in the secondquarter in sixteen to six. But of
course they've got to go for twoyear to make a one possession game,

(51:05):
So the Boyceville Bulldogs will have togo for two after that York strand metal
roofing touchdown, big two point conversionhere to make it a one possession game.
Braidon Rome Heeld and Zach Helen Drungbehind Carson Rome held. It takes
a snap, fakes the give, pitches it to the outside of Zach Helen

(51:25):
Drong on an option playing Helen Drongis torpedoed at the one. He does
not get in, so that sortof takes a little bit of the That
takes a little bit of the spiceout of the chili. But still the
Boyceville Bulldogs on the thirty five yardtouchdown run by nick Olson are on the

(51:47):
board now if nine's thirty eight toplay until halftime. Edgar now leads this
playoff game sixteen to six. It'sEdgar ball when we come back in thirty
seconds on moose cune one oh sixpoint seven. What do you get with

(52:36):
Boysville Bulldogs on the board, butthe Edgar Wildcats lead by a score
of sixteen to six, nine thirtyeight to go into have time. Boysville
about to kick it back too.Edgar winner tonight moves on to the state
semi finals. And once you getto this level, oh does it feel
real? If you could win thewhole darn thing? Wins feel even more

(53:00):
like relief and the losses have moreof a crushing nature too than even know
all that you've already accomplished. Here'sa ground ball kicked by Helling ground stooped
up by Jason Applefleck for Edgar athis own twenty yard line. He'll bring
the pile to pass. The thirtyyard line is physically thrown down by Zach
Perston, the senior for Boyceville, and as he gets up, that gets

(53:22):
a rise out of the fan basearound us. Well, now what the
now what the Boyceville Bulldogs have tobe defensively is they've got to provide a
little bit more of a our resistancethan a cotton ball against a wind storm.
They've got to hold back this Edgaroffense, and especially Carter but who

(53:45):
has just run right over them inthe first two possessions, first intent from
their own thirty one for Edgar TaganStreet in the shotgun shotgun snap, here's
at the Carter Buck coming to thenear side stuff arms of man, lowers
his shoulder and dives out of boundspast the thirty five. Even on gains

(54:06):
in which even on plays in whichthere's not a lot of roomor doesn't look
like anything's developing, he's still ableto gain five yards like he did right
there, Carter, but over thirteenhundred yards on the year with his two
touchdowns tonight, he has twenty sixon the season. Five second down and

(54:30):
six from their own thirty five Streetunder center, two backs behind him again,
hand off, bouncing off of defenderthis Jase Applefleck. He's got the
first down past the forty, pastthe forty five to the forty six.

(54:51):
Boysville is getting a head on ahat if you will. They are making
contact with these running bats, butthey cannot bring them down. The gain
of ten on the play first andten for Edgar at their own forty six
yard line. Nine minutes till halftime, Edgar leads sixteen to six. Is

(55:14):
still a two possession ball game.Street will hand it to Carter butt through
the right side past the fifty cutsto the outside to the forty to the
thirty five to the thirty to thefoot race down to the twenty down to
the ten. There's a guy chasingafrom now. He leapfrogs a guy at
the five yard line and he's intouchdown. Touchdown for the Edgar wildcasts a

(55:37):
fifty five yard touchdown run and thatwas a thing of beauty for Carter,
but especially once he got down tothe ten and it looked like he had
been cordoned off right around the sideline. He leaped fraud over a defender.
Carter butt with his third touchdown runof the game, and with eight forty
eight to play until halftime, it'stwenty two to eight in favor of the

(56:01):
Edgar Wildcats. Jerry Sims in hisforty ninth season as the head coach for
Edgar, they are eyeballing, bringinghim back to the semi finals. Harrison
Gravine will be on the dude extrapoint kick, a straight odd kicker for
Edgar. There's a snap balls Dalkicksots way and the kick is good and

(56:30):
to play until halftime, it isone three to six in favor of the
Edgar Wildcats. Boyceville Ball when wecome back in thirty seconds on Moose Country
one oh six point seven. Iwas down on my luck. My car
was a piece of luckily. Ifound Hoto King. Hodo King should be

(56:55):
that they truly can. I wentdown to Third Street in a clay.
I got a great deal. Thelow stuff. The yeah Oo King is
the only way to go. It'sfunny how games play out in real life.

(57:16):
Right. It's why, no matterhow much mathematical permutations you do,
you still can't win the lottery. No matter how many times you may have
figured out the proper combination. Youcome into this game thinking it's gonna be
a low scoring affair. As itturns out, eight forty eight to go

(57:37):
until halftime, and Edgar has atwenty three to six lead in this one.
Of course, the big issue isBen Boyceville has not stopped Edgar once
on defense. Edgar with twenty threepoints already in this ballgame. Now boys

(57:59):
will get the ball back down threescores want to get back on the board
here and see if they can turnthis game too. A bit of a
shootout. Harrison Gravine kicks it off, Jondre left had to get it is
Nickolson for Boyceville at his own five, brings it out past the twenty island
of the near Sally's got blockers, past the thirty five and near the forty
yard line. Is pulled down andNy Schnell on the tackle for Edgar,

(58:24):
but a good return for nick Olson. I don't It'll be first and ten
for Boyceville at their thirty eight yardlock. Really for Boyceville, it's a
matter now for them that they can'treally have many empty possessions the way you
look at it. Here eight fortyone to go until halftime, twenty three

(58:50):
to six in favor of Edgar.Again, Boysville has already had the best
season this program has had in decades. But that doesn't mean you're satisfied right
now. You can, you cansmile and a week or so if it's
over, but not right now.And off nick Olsen, He's through the
line and out to the forty fiveyard line, a gain of seven.
It'll be second in three. Imean there is a soft landing for boys

(59:15):
villeve ends tonight and all that theyaccomplished and what have you. But that's
the sort of thing that brings asmile to your face when you have the
end of the season banquet, Andrightfully so, there's no way that at
this juncture of the year your seasonis a disappointment. But living in the
moment, that doesn't mean you're satisfiedright now. You want to try to

(59:36):
come back in this game. Seconddown in three from their own forty five,
Carson Rome held under center, twobacks behind him, and off to
Brandon rome Heild comes into your siteand he is crunched. Carter but knocks
him down, and then Carter buttstands over him for a moment as though

(59:58):
he's a heavyweight prized by having lookedat his prey that he just felled.
Did get a couple of yards onthat. So it's third down and two,
and frankly, this could be fouredout territory right in midfield in a
game like this. If he don'tget it on third down and two and

(01:00:20):
you punt it back, yeah, you're playing field position. But let's put
this way, Michael Romeil does notwant to have to make the decision third
down and two from their own fortysix and off Helen drawing, He'll dive
into the line. He's got thefirst down of the fifty. He'll gain
the four yards and it'll be firstto ten right at midfield. Play is

(01:00:44):
a bull down first down. It'sa perfect rule for boysfield. They'd be
able to milk a lot of thetime off the clock as well here,
but you just want to score. With seven minutes and counting to go until
halftime, Edgar does hit the ballto begin the second half. Both teams

(01:01:06):
have all three of their time outto remaining. You never got nick Olsen
through the line, stays on hisfees, he almost tripped and is able
to slide ahead to the forty fivefor a game of five. By the

(01:01:27):
way, bald went up on Summerset thirty five to twelve. That is
in the second quarter, second downand five for Boyceville at the Edgar forty
five yard live. This game hasnot had a turnover yet, but it

(01:01:51):
has had one really big play,a couple of big plays, the pump
block for Edgar that resulted in asafety and the fifty five yard Touchdo run
that carter, but just had forthem. Give to Nicholson through the line,
well, misdirection on second in fiveand you'll gain three maybe four yards
before he gets bare hugged to thegrass. Presston Dulky on the tackle.

(01:02:16):
It'll be third out in three. There's a lot of different reasons why Edgar
has this twenty three to six lead, but they've made the big They've had
big plays in this game, andthey've been only get off the field a

(01:02:37):
couple of times on third down.Right now, a third down in three
for Boyceville at the plus forty threeyard line. Carson Rome Heald under center,
two backs behind him, and offHelen Drong. Helen Dron was hit
in the backfield and dropped right atthe line of scrimmage. It'll be fourth
down and maybe got a he gothalf a yard. Oh, there won't

(01:03:01):
be much discussion here. They'll haveto go for it fourth down. They
maybe generously gave him a yard.So it's fourth down in two for Boyceville,
four forty in counting until halftime.Boyceville taking their time. I wonder
if they'll burn a time out here, and that is the case, so

(01:03:22):
Boyceville will think it over as they'llhave a time out time before this big
fourth down and a big play comingup when we come back in thirty seconds.

letterman's jacket, old Boyceville High Schoolletterman's jacket from the nineteen fifties when Boyceville

(01:04:26):
did win a conference title back then. It's fourth down and three for Boyceville
at the Edgar forty three yard liveit will go forward here down three scores.
Late in the second quarter, Carsonromeield in the shotgun, flanked by
Olson and Helen drug I go.Rome held no doubt, calling his best

(01:04:51):
player right now. And now aslight pause because Olson's having all difficulty get
in the chin strap connected to hishelmet, So white Cap comes over there,
help him out here, and nowthey're all set. Carson Rome Helbal

(01:05:14):

touchdown touchdown for Price Bell a fortythree yard touchdown path by Carson Rome held

(01:05:36):

Zach Callendrong leaked loose down the rightsideline. He caught the ball floating pass

(01:05:58):
from Carson rome Hill twenty yard line, had ten to turn and run.
He had to make one move offthat bang up leg from the first quarter
at the ten yard line and walksin. They'll go for two will Voiceville
down twenty three to twelve under centeris roam, healed, two backs behind

to. He eludes a second backfieldlooking looking throws over the battle cart.

He ran around. He was likea mouse ohooting the cat in the cheese

but that being said, it's notexaggeration to say that Edgar had Boysville

(01:07:50):
pushed up against the edge of thecliff there, and because of that touchdown,
Boysville has now to take a coupleof steps to give themselves some boom
to operate now twenty three fourteen infavor of Edgar for twenty one to go
in this Round three playoff games.First half a wild high scoring affair.

(01:08:12):
Zach Callen drunk kicks it away forBoyceville, picked up by Edgar at their
twenty five and whoever was running itback slipped at the thirty five. That's
where Edgar will take over. Bythe way, Boyceville has become the first
team this year to score twice onEdgar. These are two teams, by
the way, that came into thisgame having not allowed any or very hardly

(01:08:33):
any points all year. Boysville wouldallow it sprinkling here. Edgar hadn't allowed
any points. It's August, andlook at it. We've got thirty seven
points scored in this first half. Now here's a big key in this game.
If Boysvill's gonna win, can theyfinally stop Edgar? They have yet
to stop them. Once first andten for Edgar at their own thirty five,

(01:08:55):
four eighteen to play until halftime.Kerry by Carter and he's carrying the
whole student body for Boysville with himup the middle to the forty six yard
line and a gain of six seconddown and four at their own forty one
yard line, four anchor four minutesto play until halftime and Edgar does get

(01:09:20):
the ball to begin the second half. Jerry Sin's team with LoVa, I'm
naughty two for this time. Wisenbergeron the carry. They'll cut up the
middle and stop maybe a yard shy'llbe third down and less than a yard

(01:09:41):
and whistle will stop players. There'sa player down for Boyceville, and it
looks like that's a grand Kaiser, the senior nose tackle who is down.
I'll quickly get him to his feet. Kaiser walk gingerly to the near sideline.

(01:10:02):
That'll be third down in less thana yard for Edgar, just beyond
their own forty five yard line.Coming into this game, Boyceville had denied
their opponents eighty percent of the timeon third down. The tonight, Edgar

(01:10:23):
has been like a a slicked uppig going down a fresh water slide.
There has been very little resistance whenthey have done anything on offense. Third
down, less than a yard forEdgar and off to Budd. He's got
the first down and more inside thefifty down the far side the line,

(01:10:44):
past the forty five, past theforty of Boyceville, and finally the momentum
is pull pulls it down inside theforty to the thirty eight of Boysville,
three minutes to play until halftime twentythree of fourteen. Edgar leads. Edgar
jumped out to a sixteen zero leadin this game. And while Boyceville has

(01:11:08):
scored now their last two possessions,if they cannot stop Edgar mathematically, it
won't work. First and ten fromthe plus thirty eight, carry up the
middle on a sprinting five yards moreapple fact for Edgar they are just getting

(01:11:30):
five six seven yards of carry andsometimes more. For Edgar, they are
just sitting there, not like aperson sitting on the sofa binge watching TV,
just taking handfuls of the checks mix. There's nothing to stop handfuls of
the checks mix. Carry up themiddle, staying on his feet and get

(01:11:53):
in the first down to the twentyfive yard line. That was but again
again every time he was hit theline. Buddy has great balance, I
mean outstanding balance in which he staysabout a foot off the ground and sort

(01:12:13):
of like he's crawling through mid air. Is he able to get another five
yards after he's hit hand off Carter? But but they were to push defenders
back from first and ten at thetwenty six he brings it inside the twenty
five down to the twenty two againof four, and Edgar's gonna use their
first time out one fifty two togo until halftime. We'll keep it here,

(01:12:39):
so a minute fifty two to gountil halftime. Edgar leads twenty three
fourteen, and they have the ballto begin the second half. Now Edgar
is driving, and boy, canboys go do anything to slow down Edgar
because in this first half the end, it's been a failing, a failing

(01:13:03):
task to stop Edgar, and namelyCarter Budd. Carter Bud's had big games
all year for Edgar, but heis really shining for them in this round
three. Game winner tonight moves onto the state semi finals, and in
two weeks, right at sunrise,we'd have the state championship game on Thursday,

(01:13:30):
November the sixteenth. Edgar's got afew state championships on the resume of
Jerry Sins. Almost always they reachedat least this level of the playoffs,
many times, to the semi manytimes the finals. They are used to
being here. This program in totalityall right. Second in five from the

(01:13:51):
twenty one hand off, the Wisenbergerhe's wrapped up at the ankles in the
backfield. Able to get a yardor two on the play, though,
good job by Peter Wielding to comethrough. That sets up a third down
and four at the nineteen yard line. Our twenty one yard line should say

(01:14:14):
they're down in four and up upthe middle. They didn't get much there.
That'll set up a fourth down anda yard. Egan Street kept it
himself and Edgar's gonna use their secondtime out. Edgar, well Jery Sins
will go for it. Obviously,it's gonna be fourth down and we'll call

(01:14:40):
it three from the nineteen yard line. Fourth down more like two actually,
I think from where we are.But here's a huge moment in this game.
Edgar could pick it up twenty fiveto go. They pick it up
there sniffing the end zone. IfBoyceville holds them. Even if Boysville can't

(01:15:04):
turn this in the points, withthe time and whatnot, Boycevie least will
have a stop on their ledger. In this first half twenty three to fourteen,
Edgar leads by nine one twenty fiveuntil halftime. Edgar has one time
out of the left. Here wego a fourth down in three for Edgar

(01:15:26):
at the nineteen yard line, streetunder center, three backs behind him,
hand off up the metal depends onthe spot and it looks like he's gonna
get it. They're running down theline. Judges from right where the first
down is. They'll spot it.The white cap looks, he looks and
gives him the first down. Edgarquickly up to the ball. One twenty

(01:15:53):
and counting to go until halftime.Edgar does have one time out of the
left street and off, but tothe right side of the line. He's
brought down after a short game.If two maybe three on the play,
we'll reach the final minute until halftime. Second down and seven from the thirteen

(01:16:17):
yard line, street under center, three backs behind him. Carry again to
Buck cuts up the middle into theten down. The five leaps over some
bodies at the five and lands atthe four yard line. That'll be a
first down. Stops the clock momentarily. Edgar will huddle. Now breaks the

(01:16:40):
huddle. Mike Rabbits scattering in thefloodline. Forty five and counting until halftime.
First in goal from the four andnow Boyceville will use their second time
out. So Boyceville will use theirsecond time out We'll take it with him.
Forty two seconds to go until halftime. Edgar leads twenty three to fourteen,
but driving when we come back inthirty seconds on Moose Country one oh

(01:17:05):
six point seven. It's your story. Let Basil Portrait Design at Boysfield help
you tell it. Their beautiful twothousand square foot studio is located in New

pricing, upcoming events, holiday cards, and more. Forty two seconds to
play until halftime. Edgar waged twentythree to fourteen on Boysville and Edgar's got
a first in goal from the fouryard live well again. Boysville has been

(01:17:54):
able to score fourteen points on thisEdgar team that had pitched nine straight shutouts.
But Boyceville has not stopped Edgar atall defensively. Keegan Streamer center hand
off to Carter but and he's inhis fourth touchdown of this ball game.
Carter bud from four yards out. It's twenty nine to fourteen, so a

(01:18:20):
fifteen point lead for Edgar. Stilla two possession game. Will see if
they go for two. Year ifthey go for two, they can make
it a three possession game once again. Now Boyceville a couple of times had
chances to get Edgar off the fieldand could not. On that last possession,

(01:18:45):
well, Harrison Gravine will come onto kick the extra point, make
it a sixteen point lead, straighton kicker, and somebody went a little
early for Boyceville. And now Boycevillemight pay the price because I think here
comes the offensive unit on the fieldfor Edgar. They'll go for the two

(01:19:12):
point conversion with the penalty moving theball to the one yard line. Now
instead of at the three, it'sat the one, and why not just
give the ball to Carter but onhis worst carry, still getting you two
to three yards. This would bebig. I would make it a three
possession game straight and off. Butyou know, thirty one to fourteen in

(01:19:45):
favor of the Edgar Wildcats has athree possession game with thirty eight seconds to
go until halftime. Carter, butwith four touchdowns in this game, twenty
eight touchdowns on the season, amazing, so the Boyceville Bulldogs have had no

(01:20:11):
answer for him. Boysville's giving upthirty one points in this first half,
a game in which we thought maybejust one score total when the lay its
actually played out tonight. It's beena high scoring game forty five total points.

(01:20:31):
But right now it's Edgar firm control. Until Boyceville shows they can stop
Edgar, it's not really a ballgame. And the bad thing is for Boyceville.
Edgar's gonna get the ball to beginthe second half. Boysville will get
the ball back here with thirty eightseconds to go in one time out.

(01:20:53):
If they could somehow go and scorebefore halftime, that would help out immensely.
But it has been as bad ofa first half defensively for Boyceville as
they could have had in their nightmares. I mean, you think about they
scored fourteen points on this Edgar teamthat hadn't allowed any points at August and

(01:21:15):
they're still down by seventeen. Harrisand Gravine will kick it a high short
kick, dropped by it up manat his own twenty five yard line and
off the fall on it at thetwenty two We'll see what Boyceville LExEN do
here. You're down seventeen with thirtysix seconds to go until halftime, and

(01:21:36):
then why not just air it out? You could just run a play here
into the line and head into halftime. Yeah, if you pass a you
risk the interception, but you kindof open for the big point. Maybe
something broken here again, Hayden Wolden, why to the far side? Haven't

(01:22:02):
heard from him tonight. Carson Romeheld in the shotgun snap had off Olsen
coming off the near side. Olsenwrapped up past his twenty five. Ain't
about five maybe six in the flight. And it looks like Oysville is not
in any particular hurry final twenty secondsand the halftime, and it looks like

(01:22:26):
Boyceville will be content to hit halftimedown seventeen and see if they can muster
something up in the second half.Well, they come to the line with
eight seven six five, they takea snap. You really have to run
a play here. They'll give itto Nick Olsen. Olsen kind of see
if something opens up. It's nothingthere. Now a flag comes in from

(01:22:49):
the backfield after Olsen GoAhead and gotto the first down of the thirty two
If it's on Edgar, they'll beone more play until halftime. Came from
the secondary. It's gonna be apersonal foul face mask on Edgar, so

(01:23:12):
that should push the ball up tothe forty seven yard line. That would
give Boysville will have one more playmidfield until halftime. Balls fo forty six
yard line, so one more playuntil halftime for Boyceville. An old hook

(01:23:42):
in the lateral likely going to beanother hand off here as Carson Romeld under
center, he will look the passunder duress in the batfield. Elusah Sack
runs on the near Side's gotta letgo. Heaves it out of bounds on

(01:24:03):
the near side, out of bounds, and that's how the first half will
end. The Edgar Wildcats the numbertwo seed, dominating offensive effort in the
first half, and they will leadthis number one seed Boyceville Bulldogs by the
score of thirty one to fourteen.Boyceville on top of Edgar thirty one to

(01:24:29):
fourteen. We'll step aside as wereach halftime. We'll come back. When
we do, we'll recap the firsthalf and set you up for the second
half of this playoff game. Thisis high school football action on moose country
one oh six point seven, andwe'll rejoin you from Boyceville High School.
Scott Montazano back with you. Levelthree, Round three. Most sports people

(01:24:54):
would call this round three. Theintellectuals at the WIA office called this level
three. That's all round three ofthe playoffs. All Edgar. Right now,
they're on top of Boyceville thirty oneto fourteen, Edgar the number two
seed leading the number one seed,Boyceville thirty one to fourteen. It'll be

(01:25:14):
Edgar ball when we begin the secondhalf here in a couple of moments.
So the Boysville Bulldogs, well, they'll have to have a rally in their
bones that they're gonna keep this magicalseason continuing. One thing is for sure.
At halftime, we recognized how coldit is you and I sitting outside
today. Fucking a lie the factI wore slacks, and a good broadcaster

(01:25:39):
wears slacks too. Many of thesehigh school guys where wear jeans and whatnot.
I wore slacks. The problem isslacks khakis are not necessarily thick,
so my legs are completely frozen bythe time I get up today. It's
gonna be like one of those iciclesbreaking off of the gutter, I'm gonna
stand up, my leg's gonna snapin half. All right, how do

(01:26:00):
we get to this point? Thirtyone fourteen, Edgar out in front.
Well, simple Carter, but fourtouchdowns in that first half for Carter.
But meanwhile for Boyceville, their offensehad a slow go of it to get
this game going. Now, Boycevillegot the offense going later on, got
a couple of big plays on NickOlson thirty five yard touchdown run, a

(01:26:24):
forty three yard touchdown pass from RomeHeil to Helen Drung, but they have
not been able to stop Edgar onany possession in this game. That's it.
The map just simply does not workout. You could score, but
if you can't stop the other teamfrom scoring, especially after Edgar opened the
game leading sixteen to zero, you'rejust not going to come back. So

(01:26:47):
Edgar out in front, thirty oneto fourteen winner tonight. We'll move on
to the state semi finals next weekagainst either Cashton or bangor Edgar trying to
make another run to a state championship. It is a legendary program under Hall
of Fame head coach Jerry Sins Boycevillehaving the program's best year in decades,

(01:27:12):
wants to keep it going. They'vealready accomplished oh so much. And there
is no failure at this juncture foranybody once you get to this time.
But that doesn't mean you're satisfied beforeyou enter this second half. Now here's
something for Boyceville to hang their haton. Yes, we talk about Boyceville
having not been able to stop Edgarso far, but coming into this game,

(01:27:36):
we talked so much about the defense. Now you remember I made the
joker before the start of the gamethat this could very well be a sudden
death game. The first team toscore wins because Edgar had nine straight shutouts
and Boyceville had only allowed fifty threepoints all season. Well, look when
we ended up having forty five pointsin that first half, what do I

(01:27:58):
know? Again? Boyceville became thefirst team to score against Edgar since August.
And now, while they have notbeen able to stop Edgar, Boyceville
that offense that can be explosive, had positivity and if they can get a
couple of stops, if they canget a turnover or two, they can
get right back into this ball game. Now, Edgar will begin the second

(01:28:20):
half with the football as the teamsare on the field and just getting ready
for the kickoff. Edgar and thegreen helmets, the white tops, and
the green pants. Meanwhile for Boycevillethey've got the black helmets, black tops,
and the blue pants. Chilly temperaturesas the temperatures dip into the mid

(01:28:41):
of the thirties, most people standingat halftime trying to get the blood circulation
going. You don't really think ofthe cold though, when the game isn't
going on. The thing about theplayoffs, by the way, they feel
much more like an event. We'vetalked about that before. There isn't a
lot of social that goes on duringthe playoff game. People for the most

(01:29:02):
part are focused one hundred percent onthe action because every moment could be a
big moment in a game. SoEdgar will begin the second half with the
ball, Scott Montazano with you,our friend Tyler back at the studio.
If Boyceville is going to stay inthis ballgame, getting a defensive stop isn't

(01:29:24):
just big, It really is mandatory, you would think, and then you
want to turn this game to Ah, here's an onside kick by Boyceville,
and Edgar's gonna fall on it.So Boyceville try the onside kick, Edgar
will fall on it at their ownforty three. You know, I'd been

(01:29:45):
thinking in my head of mentioning thatas a possibility because Boyceville really has to
steal a couple of possessions, andthat wasn't a bad idea. They were
all balled up like a bunch ofsquirrels sleeping in hollowed out tree at the
kickoff line. Then just turned aroundto Zach Helen drug and hit a ground
ball trying to catch Edgar sleeping andthat did not work. Hand off Carter,

(01:30:09):
but hit it the line and he'sgonna be gang tackled and thrown back.
Owen and Nickolson in on the tackle. No game, and it'll be
second in ten. Well that's howit starts for Boyceville. Carter but four
touchdowns in that first half. Hewas unstoppable. You started to see some

(01:30:30):
signs though of them being able tohold him back. The other reality is
for Carter, but he plays twoways. He's also the leading tackler that
Edgar has. You wonder something it'snot like a video game. You wonder
if fatigue starts to settle in forthe young man and that could benefit Boyceville.
Second and ten from their own fortythree and off to I think that's

(01:30:56):
Weisenberger. He'll gain a couple pastthe forty five. A flag comes in
from the secondary thought and this islikely going to be a face mask from
where it was thrown, and itwill be against Boyceville. It will be
a personal foul face mask, hispersonal foul face mask. I'm talking fifteen

(01:31:17):
yard penalty. And just like that, Edgar in the plus territory. So
instead of it being a third downand say seven, it's a first and
ten for Edgar at the Boyceville fortyyard live. So first and ten for
Edgar at the plus forty yard line, and it's already a three score game.

(01:31:40):
They scored open up this second half, reality begins to set in Deagan
Street under center hand off the AppleFelk. He's got five yards before he
runs into a sea of bodies stoppedat the thirty five yard line. A
gain of five running attackle in thisBoyceville team a magical season. Beat Spring

(01:32:10):
Valley twice over the course of thelast three weeks. Spring Valley had been
the gold standard of the dun SaintCroix for most of the last decade,
but right now, Edgar another leveland they have been in control of this.
One second and five from the thirtyfive hand off, the carter hitting

(01:32:31):
the backfield, stacked up, stayson his feet and still gains a yard.
He was popped in the backfield ashe was hit by Peter Wielden,
stumbled and then dragged two defenders forstill a gain of three yards to the
thirty two Carter butts at another levelfor Edgar, and this has been his

(01:33:00):
ballgame. He has been the keyto this game on both sides. Third
down and two hand off to appleeffect this time, and he should have
the first down. As he getsthe thirty yard line. He got to
man, that'll be a you. They're supposed to a first down. They

(01:33:25):
got to measure it here though chain'sright on the thirty yard line. The
balls marked at the thirty yard line, so I'm not too sure why they
want to measure this here. It'sas simple as it is the balls.
I'm thirty and the chain's at thethirty. But the officials asking for the
chains to come out nine to playin the third quarter thirty one to fourteen.

(01:33:48):
Edgar Leeds Boyceville. They will extendthe chains and he's got it by
maybe not Yeah, he's got Yougotta have a football. I didn't have
to measure that. That's ninety secondsof my life. I'd like to ask
Saint Peter for back all right.I can harass the officials because I myself

(01:34:16):
from a high school baseball umpire. The number one argument every official as well,
it's so easy you do I dodo it so I can't make fun
of you. The easiest money ever, by the way, is to be
a high school official. Forget.I do not kid. By the way,
it's the easiest money you'll ever make. Don't believe that the media hype

(01:34:38):
of it being negative and off toCarter, but Paul, because free of
the backfield, Street will dive onit. Passed the thirty five, on
the thirty six, Carter, buton first and ten, got the handoff,
got wrapped up at the angles andthen oddly trying to pitch it back
the street and nearly forced the turnoverthere. That's one that I think Jerry

(01:35:01):
sins in that coaching staff has remindedthe senior, Hey, you're having a
great game here. You don't haveto force it. Hey, if they're
gonna stop you a couple of timesin the bag field, just go down,
because that was the potential game changingturnover there. But Teagan Street fell
on the ball, loss of six. Back to the thirty six second and

(01:35:21):
sixteen for Edgar and off to Weisenbergeroff the far side. He's tripped up
from behind after a short game, brought down by Devil and Holama, and
it'll be third down and thirteen twelve. So third and thirteen for Edgar at

(01:35:43):
the thirty three yard line. Nowit's two down territory. You're not gonna
punt from here, and obviously you'renot gonna kick it from here at this
level. So they have two playsto get thirteen yards. Made the way
through the third quarter thirty one tofourteen. Edgar leads by seventeen points in
this round three playoff game. Streetis under center. He's gonna let the

(01:36:06):
pass looking far side, throws farside of the sideline. We beg interception
by Devil Olama at his own fifteenyard line. He will get on.
Pi'll split to the near sideline.Devil Alama picks the ball off. Boyceville
gets the ball back inside their owntwenty. We have seven twenty seven to

(01:36:30):
play in the third quarter, andif boyce still can score on this possession,
oh we got a ball game. It's a three possession game. Still
at seventeen points Boyceville. You beginthe count possessions and reality here. They
really can ill afford to have anempty possession. They'll have it. First

(01:36:53):
and ten from their own sixteen yardline. Carson Rome healed under center,
two bags behind him, Olsen andHelen drunk and off to Olson in the
line. Kicks of the outside, but pulled down after a gain of a
yard. Second down, and nowcarry Apple back on the tackle, gain
of a couple second and eight, looking overhead, dark sky overhead except for

(01:37:25):
one long bright light off to ourleft, a star, maybe a high
airplane. One loan bright light inthe sky overhead. Second down and eighth
from their own eighteen. Rome ofthe pass, heaves a deep hold.
They're looking for a roll. He'lldake the catch. It's dry to the

(01:37:46):
thirty to the twenty to the tedwave. Good bye, touchdown, touchdown.
Her poise fell eighty two yard touchdownpass room, hail to a wall.
He hit him in stride at midfield. World with the eighty two yard

(01:38:10):
touchdown reception. We mentioned it thebig play capability. He caught them all
the fifty There was an Edgar playerwho trailed him two yards the next fifty
yards and could not quite get himsix twenty seven to play in the third,
thirty one to twenty and Boyceville willgo for two to try to make

(01:38:34):
it a nine point deficit. Romehealed in the shotgun snap, looks over
the middle, now near side, flushed out, he'll keep it himself,
runs to the goal line. He'shitting the goal line and not him.
Two point conversion fails, so Edgarmaintains a thirty one twenty thirty one to

(01:39:00):
twenty in favor of Edgar. Sixthirty seven the play in the third quarter,
Edgar ball when we come back inthirty seconds on Moose Country one oh
six point seven. Hey, thisVeterans Day, iHeartRadio is sending a big
shout out and a big thank youto every veteran listening right now. Your

(01:39:20):
bravery and dedication inspires us to bebetter people and be a better country.
And from everyone here at iHeartRadio,we thank you from the bottom of our
hearts. Yorkstram Metal Roofing would liketo honor our past and present military heroes.
We recognize your bravery, devotion andlove of country for all your sacrifices.
From everyone at York Strame Metal Roofing, thank you for your commitment and

(01:39:44):
service. Six thirty seven the playin the third quarter. It is thirty
one to twenty in favor of Edgar. On the WIRs Gallup Plumbing and Eating
scoreboard. A bunch of York StrandMetal Roofing touchdowns in this game, including
latest one eighty two yard touchdown catchby Caden Wold for Boyceville. So Boyceville

(01:40:06):
hanging around, got the defensive stopon the interception, then got the touchdown
pass Edgar will get the ball backhere and we'll see if Boyceville can get
another defensive stop. We have sixthirty seven left in the third quarter.
Do they try another on side kick? Does Boycevil No, I'll break the

(01:40:30):
huddle this time out of the huddle. The last time they turned quickly and
tried the ground ball on side kick. Not the case here, Hell and
drunk will kick her at the rightleg. Ground ball kick scooped up by
an up man at his own twentyfor the twenty five out to the thirty
five stays on a s fee breakingloose is Gavin Mauer far sidelines in the

(01:40:51):
plus territory to the forty of Boycevilleand brought down Kevin Mauer un tackled by
Jase like a bumper car that wasable to somehow scoot along the edge barrier
and get out it being cornered.Yeah, Edgar will take over at the

(01:41:15):
forty four of Boyceville. So firstand ten for Edgar at the plus forty
four yard lot. Boyceville has beenable to start to slow down the running
game of Carter, but a bickand they keep that going on. This
possession carry will go up the middlefor forty yards of the forty tackle about

(01:41:35):
four Frankiser on the carry. Onthe tackle, I should say Jase Applefeck
on the carry as Jerry sins hisunit opposite of us will no doubt give
Carter but a couple more blows. You would think not, as many carries
are to try to keep him somewhatfresh if they need him later. Stacked

(01:42:00):
up formation three backs behind Tagan Streetthe quarterback on second and six, applefuck
again up the middles pop from behindafter he gains maybe five on the play,
and it'll be third down. We'llcall it two at the thirty six
and two third down and two atthe Boyceville thirty six yard line. Five

(01:42:27):
thirty and counting. In the thirdquarter, thirty one to twenty, Edgar
leads by eleven, and they've gotthe ball and off Carter Butt hit at
the line, but keeps his legsmoving and moves the pile the game three
on the play and gets the firstdown to the thirty three yard line.

(01:42:48):
How big are some of these bitmissed two point conversions and consequently the main
two point conversions that Edgar has had, Because you look at Edgar here,
they score touchdown here, all ofa sudden, they'd have themselves a three
possession lead again as they lead thirtyone to twenty. You know that's the

(01:43:08):
issue here for Boyceville as well. They're scoring, but they're not getting the
extra twos, the extra points, and Edgar's always getting them. Except for
their first touchdown, they didn't getthe two point conversion. I think back
too late in the first half. They were going to kick an extra point,
was Edgar, but Boysville jumped andthen Edgar went for two and got

(01:43:30):
the two first and ten from theBoyceville thirty three street hands it to Carter
Butt, but we'll scoot through themiddle inside the thirty and brought down at
the twenty six a game of seven. On the play second down and three

(01:43:53):
Zach Helendron on the tackle second forBoyceville. Just like we all drew it
up. Fifty one points in thisgame. Two teams that barely give up
any points, but the offense hashave reigned supreme. Second down in three

(01:44:15):
and off here will get the firstdown twenty two yard line. Carter but
needed three maybe four, he gotfive. That's a first down. Beggar
just keeps chewing up yardage, chewingup yardage. They've put the ball on

(01:44:38):
the turf a couple of times inthis game and have landed on those fumbles
as well. That has been big. Under four to go in the third
quarter, eleven point lead for Eggaragain, Carter bup and he swallowed in
the backfield. That will lose acouple of yards on the play. Second

(01:45:00):
came in from the secondary to leadthe charge on that one for Boyceville.
Looks like Carson Rome healed as well, was a part of it second down
and eleven for Edgar. Second downand eleven Hegan Street and are saying,

(01:45:23):
you know they're just gonna run it. He tried one pass today, was
intercepted and off to Apple. FuckingApple. Fact, we'll run into a
toll road. It has not allowedentry in the line of scrimmage. Grant
Kaiser was able to bear hug himand put him in his belly. No
game in the play, and it'llbe third down and eleven, Third and

(01:45:45):
eleven at the Boyceville twenty three andBoyceville's selling out for the run right now,
daring Teagan Street to throw it.Street through his third interception of the

again. Think about it from aBoys Vil perspective. They've had a thirty
five yard touchdown run, a fortythree yard touchdown pass, and an eighty
two yard touchdown pass against the Edgarteam that had had nine consecutive shutouts entering
tonight, and yet they're still downthirty eight to twenty. Now the Boyceville

(01:49:13):
Bulldogs just defensively have not been ableto hold back Edgar. As Harrison Gurvie
kicks it off, Boyceville will getit at the ten. I'll pass the
twenty. This is Nickolson. It'sthe far side of the line. He's
passed thirty five past the forty fiveout near the fifty offties bowled over.
A great run by nickoleson hell, here's the reality if you are Boyceville,

(01:49:36):
here's just the true reality. Withone thirty nine and left in the third
court, you got a score andthen flat no hiding it probably have to
go for on site kicks. Takeyour chances with that. Game's not over
with the type of offense that Boycevillehas. By the way, ball marked

Rome Heill looking for Walt throws deepnear sidelines, got wald over. It
makes the get to the thirty cutback of the middle fifteen to ten way

one of these two point conversions? They are zero for three on the two

Right now, Edgar leeds Boyceville thirtyeight to twenty six. One twenty nine
left in the third quarter, andBoyceville will have to kick the ball back
to Edgar. Here we'll see ifBoyceville defensively could do something they've only done
once tonight, that's stop Beggar fromscoring. Frankly, I would I'd considered

(01:52:48):
just on site kicking ear see whatyou could do, Zach Helen Drungdo will
kick it deep, ball will gothrough the legs of a guy for Edgar.
Ball will go all the way intothe end zone to be a touchback.
Was a ground ball kid that wentright between the legs of we All
Hackle had his own fifteen yard line, and the ball slithered into the end
zone for a touchback. It waslike a hard ground ball that went right

(01:53:15):
between the legs of the second basement. So ball out of the twenty yard
line first and ten for Edgar. There, Edgar began the game leading sixteen
zero. They have a couple oftimes had three possession leads in this game.

(01:53:38):
Right now they lead by twelve.Hand off, big game up the
mail by Carter, but leap frogsover defender, passed the thirty out of
the thirty five, a gain offifteen big knife for Carter, button four
touchdown runs and a touchdown passed tois Ledger first and ten at their own

(01:54:09):
thirty five for Edgar. Most pointsEdgar has scored in a game was fifty
way back in week number three.Right now they've got thirty eight. This
is the most points either team hasallowed this year by far. Carry by

(01:54:30):
Carter bumpany slipped on the grass inthe backfield, still able to lunge ahead
and runs the head for four yardsto thirty nine yard line, second down
and six from their own thirty nine. Edgar's slowing things down on the pace
of this game thirty five seconds andcounting until the end of the third quarter.
We'll see if they I don't thinkthey even have to run another play

before the end of the quarter.I think they will, though, run
one more play twenty seconds and countinguntil the end of the third quarter.
The Chagans Street under center, They'llhave to butt off the far side,

They're gonna say he stepped out atthe forty five yard line of Boyceville,
so they will have to run onemore play first and ten for Edgar

(01:55:38):

on offense. The only stopped thatBoyceville got defensively came in this third quarter
on an interception Street add it offto Burroughs his way for three yards.

(01:57:39):
from the plus thirty eight. AsEdgar moves from right to left across your
listening device, Boysville needs a defensivestop and off to Carter, but goes
to the left, cuts back upthe middle to his right, has the
first down inside the thirty five tothe thirty one of Boyceville. Peter wielded

(01:57:59):
on the tackle and Edgar again justcontinues to move the ball on Boysville into
Edgar's credit too. A couple oftimes Edgar's had been backed up on third
and longs and fourth downs, andBoyceville has not been able to get off
the field today. As I said, if you Boyceville's got twenty six points
on this Edgar defense and it isstill down by twelve. Now Edgar can

(01:58:29):
put points on the board. Butdefensively is what they've how they've been so
good all year and off Carter, but Carter bud off the right guard position,
is pushing defenders inside the twenty fiveinside the twenty. He's got twelve
yards on the carrying a first downdown? Was that there as a first

(01:58:53):
down that Boyceville just did not hasnot had an answer for Carter but on
any type of consistent basis today andnow play's gonna stop. They're gonna it
was like grand Kaiser was slow toget up for Boyceville, and there goes
one of the big bodies that Boycevillehas he's gonna have to walk off.

(01:59:16):
He was banged up in the firsthalf as well. All of the defensive
notes on both sides tonight got crumpledup and thrown away early on. Now,
the thing is, Edgar got acouple of defensive stops early in the

(01:59:38):
ballgame. That couple with a blockpunt that led to a safety, and
they were out to a sixteen zerolead early. Since then, Boyceville has
not been stopped by Edgar's defense,But Boyceville's defense has never been able to
stop Edgar's offense at all. Firstand ten from the twenty yard line for

(01:59:59):
Edgar, Tegan Streak gives it thecarter butt hid in the back that stays
on his feet, roars the shoulderbattering, rams his way to the fifteen
a gain of five. Early inthe fourth quarter, it's a twelve point
lead for Edgar, and barring Edgargiving the ball up, it really just

(02:00:29):
feel like it feels like a fadof complete how this drive is going to
end. Second down and five fromthe Boyceville fifteen yard live straight again the
butt, but off the right guardposition. We'll bring it down near the

(02:00:54):
ten and right by that first downmarker will depend on the spot on the
third down and sh order it's afirst down, they're gonna say it's a
third down. Third down in thelength of a third down the length of
a mouse's tail. Both these teamsplay a lot of two way football,

(02:01:18):
and on both sides you can seehands on hips and whatnot. But defensively
you feel that fatigue a lot morethan you do offensively. Third down in
an inch to go from the tenhand off, but first down easily inside
the ten and wrapped up at thesix yard line again a four on the

(02:01:43):
tackle back into the game made thetackle. The Edgar Wildcats last year lost

(02:02:06):
in the Level three round to Registhe Regis buzz Saw the year ago.
First in goal from the there, marking at the eight yard line, Carter,
but inside the five drags a guywith him. He had a Boyceville
player wrapped up at the knees anddragged him the last five yards. Carter

(02:02:30):
but in yet again, fifth touchdowntoday that he has accounted for, and
it's forty four twenty six Edgar fivetouchdowns. He's accounted for four running one
throwing. Now He's had a hugeseason this year. But this is ridiculous.
What he has done in tonight's gameis not able to stop him.

(02:02:59):
Was Boyceville tonight and Harrison Gravine onfor the extra point kick for Edgar.
A few people begin to walk downthe bleachers with it now being a eighteen
point game with eight forty four togo, Gravine on for the extra point.

(02:03:20):
There's a snap balls now kick thoughtswaiting. The kick is good with
eight forty four to play the ballgame, the Edgar Wildcats lead Boyceville forty
five to twenty six beck After thisthirty second time out on Moose Country one
oh six point seven, I wasdown on my luck. My car was

(02:03:45):
a piece of love. Core Ifound Hoto King. Hodo King should be
that they truly card. I wentdown to Bird Street and a clay I
got a great The most out Kingis the only way to go. If

(02:04:10):
you're looking for a reason why thisgame might not be over with, look
no further than the quick play capabilitythat Boyceville's had on their offense their last
two possessions an eighty two yard touchdownpass to Caiden Wold and a forty nine
yard touchdown pass to Kayden wold CarsonRome heal there's twenty second and twenty third

(02:04:31):
passing touchdowns of the year and walledup the sixteen touchdown receptions on the year.
For Boyceville to win this game, now they need to score on side
kick, score on side kick, score again. Defensively, they're just not
gonna stop Edgar. But first thingsfirst, they have to score on this
possession. With eight forty four togo, is garvine a short spirally kick

(02:04:56):
picked up by an upman at hisown thirty five. I'll me move it
to the thirty six first and tenfor Boyceville at their own thirty six with
eight forty and change to go inthe fourth quarter, a high scoring a
fair deals like we all drew itup. Seventy one points between two teams

(02:05:19):
that came into this game. Thesetwo teams combined had allowed sixty seven points
all year combined. Tonight, seventyone points have been scored. Edgar has
scored an all but one possession.Boyceville has been scoring on nearly all their

(02:05:41):
possession since a sluggish beginning of thisgame. And there was a little discussion
here, I don't know what theEdgar people are all routed them about over
to our left. It was anissue with the chains. I think the
Edgar supporters over to our left though, feeling pretty bullish as you would think.

(02:06:05):
With their team up by nineteen pointsin this one, that two hour
drive will feel a little quicker forhim. Then the shotgun, Carson rome
Held snap looking throws over the Millie'sgot a man open. Brandon rome Held
makes a sliding catch at the fiftyyard line and he's in the happy territory

(02:06:25):
at the forty nine. Oh Edgar. Now, somebody's gonna say, well,
why it wasn't Boyceville airing it outearlier? Because they Edgar's had no
way of stopping this passing game. The offense really has not been an issue
for Boyceville in this game. They'vescored twenty six points on this defense.
The issue has been they have notbeen able to stop Edgar Roam. Heield

(02:06:49):
in the shotgun, four wideouts threeto his right, takes a high snap
looking to his right. Flushed out, needs some help, he'll all flinging
it along the right sideline and hethrew it too tall for Braidon rome Held
at the thirty five yard line. It'll be second and ten at the forty

(02:07:10):
nine yard line. You got everything'sa must score possession for Boyceville now,
and you want to start looking aheadas you would if you score on this
possession, even if Edgar knows it'scoming. You gotta just try a ground
ball kick, you know, aground ball on side kick and hold the

(02:07:33):
ball, pinballs and you get itback because you have to steal possessions at
this juncture. But it's not evennot even a something you're gonna do unless
you score here. Second and tenfrom the plus forty nine Roum Heild will
hand it this time to Nickolson Olsena gap up the middle, with Egar

(02:07:54):
slinking back to stop the pass. He'll gain six yards of six to the
forty three yard line of Edgar. Will be third down and four. I
think at two down territory for Boysville. They'll go for it on fourth down
if they don't get it here.Roame Healed, operating almost exclusively out of

(02:08:22):
the shotgun at this point. Widereceivers split to each side, belly button
high snap looking throws over the middleincomplete. Threw it between Caden Wold and
Braden Rome, held at the thirtyfive of Edgar and that'll set up a
fourth down and four, Yeah, fourth down and four from the we'll call

(02:08:45):
it forty three of Edgar and Boysville'slast gasp. Right here will one of
their last gasps. Yeah, theydon't get it here reality, which may
already be me to fruition and reallyhave the spot light on it. Shotgun

(02:09:05):
again. Snap, he'll keep ithimself, runs up the medal. He's
got the first down inside the forties. He dies. What's gonna depend on
the spot He needed to get tothe forty maybe just inside of it,
and it's gonna depend on the spot. As he dove ahead, we're gonna
mark the ball down. He shouldhave enough. The white cap is gonna,

(02:09:28):
of course, keep us here alittle longer because he wants to measure
it. For measurement. It's rightthere. But you and I have a
pretty good view down the line, and I've seen a lot of a fell
I can't fault the officials for wantingto be sure and move the chain.
So we'll depend here on how thechains go. All the Edgar players surround,

(02:09:52):
they extend the chain, and he'sgot it, got it by half
a football. He did four yards. He got four yards in an inch,
so it'll be first in ten forBoyceville at the plus thirty nine yard
line, seven twenty two to playin the ballgame, Edgar leads by three

(02:10:15):
scores. Boyceville needs a score onthis possession and then if they did any
If they scored and did not onside kick, it it really be criminal
from the coaching staff. At thatpoint, Carson rome Held takes the chest
high snap, looking near side, now throws over the middle ball not Durrow

(02:10:37):
and intercept it picked off by Teakand Street for Edgar, their quarterback,
who also plays in the defensive backfield. He intercepts the ball for deflection.
They'll bring the ball back beyond theforty to their own forty three at Edgar,
with six point fifty to go,has firm control of this one,

(02:10:58):
up forty five to twenty six.Well, that'll begin to get even more
people to pack up their belongings andhead down the metal bleachers steps. An
entertaining ball game with as many bigplays as bad as you could have.

(02:11:18):
Boy the offense for Boyceville when youthink about all the highlight real plays and
they've scored twenty six points on aBoyceville team that had not allowed any points
since week two, but because theycould not stop Edgar defensively, it's not

(02:11:39):
gone good. Well. Edgar's gonnacall time out, a lot of confusion
after the turnover, and they're gonnaburn a time out here, so we'll
take one with them. Six pointfifty to go in regulation, Edgar leeds
Boyceville forty five to twenty six inthis round three playoff game back in thirty

(02:18:03):
though, loss will feel disappointing, but the season obviously is not one of
the deepest runs the program has hadto the playoffs. The outright done Saint

they're set up here to be competitiveagain next year. Will they be as
good? We'll see, but thisis not looking it's going to be a

some wild memories. A lot ofRegis games early and turned into a

(02:21:52):
pass and it'll be second down andten at the twenty nine hour flag got
their own. I think there mightbe something after the play here that happened.
It's gonna be something on Boyceville.I think there might have been some
drawing between a couple of players, and it's gonna be on sportsmanlike conduct on

(02:22:13):
Boyceville. Two to go in thisone, fifty two to twenty six.
Edgar Leeds. Edgar led sixteen zerolate in the first quarter, and Boyceville
hung with him the rest of theway, pretty much match score for score
until we got here to the fourthquarter. And it's looked a lot worse

(02:22:35):
than it was. But the issuewas Edgar began the game with ali Eden.
It was hard to come back ona team like that. Fifteen yard
penalty, by the way, pushesthe ball back to the forty four second

I'll set up a third down andthirteen again, the last possession for

Boyceville. At the end of turningthe ball over on downs, agree would
just have to kneel it out hereagain. I don't think Boyceville would be
using any timeouts at this juncture.Fifty two twenty six Boysville. No,
no, no, there you go. Boyceville is going to use a time
out here. So Boyceville will usea time out one fifty nine to go

(02:23:41):
in the ball game. We'll takea thirty second time out with them on
Moose Country one oh six point seven. It's your story. Let Basil Portrait
Design at Boysville help you tell it. Their beautiful two thousand square foot studio
is located in the New Wooded areawith amazing locations for you to be photographed.

One fifty nine to go in thefourth quarter all Edgar. Now they're

(02:24:26):
up fifty two to twenty six.The number two seed Edgar Wildcats will move
on to the fourth round. Boyceville'smagical season will stall out here in the
third round as well. A thirddown and thirteen for Boysville coming out of
their time out at the plus thirtythree yard line, I mean a fortune
thing for Boyceville. They'll drop toeleven and one, but that one loss

(02:24:50):
will be tonight to end the season. Carson romeal to pass out of the
shotgun, heaves a deep near side. They'll give a Brandon Rowmeal balls knocked
around and intercept that the goal lineby Tucker Street of Edgar brings them along
the near side. Pass the twentyto the twenty five and we'll be run
out of a lot of bounds andaround the thirty the ball went off the
helmet of Brandon Romeeld as he andan Edgar player went up for the ball.

(02:25:16):
The ball floated up into the airand there was Tucker Street, the
younger brother of the quarterback, heEagan, who caught the balls and landed
in his arms at the goal line. It'll be first and ten for Edgar
with one forty four to go attheir own thirty and just a couple of
runs here will bring this ball gameto a conclusion. Now Boyceville again though,

(02:25:43):
charting a new path with the programwith what they did this year.
Edgar me while Sloda get things goinghere off of the change of possession.
Oh yeah, run a player, boys before that clock starts the run.

(02:26:03):
Better run a player quick, becauseEdgar's already gonna go into the victory formation.
And Edgar was too slow coming outof the They were really slow coming
out of a huddle. And thething was the clock was already stopped.
So the play gets thrown here fiveyard penalty. That's those for statistical purposes.

(02:26:24):
So with one on the clock, they're gonna take a couple of genu
flex and get out of here withthe win. Are the Edgar Wildcats.
Both these programs will have identical recordsafter tonight, both at eleven and one.
The only thing is Edgar's loss cameat the very beginning of the year
in Week one, and unfortunately forBoycevilla comes in a knockout tournament game.

(02:26:50):
Carter but six touchdowns tonight, fiverunning, one passing. What a night
for him? Oh boy. Wetalked earlier in the game. We talked
the beginning of the game the Xfactor, and I mentioned Cayden Wold being
that X factor because of his overthe top ability. And we saw Cayden
Wold get a couple of long touchdownreceptions for Boyceville. Carter but we just

(02:27:13):
knew was gonna be good. CarterButt was ungodly tonight. Ungodly what he
did tonight. One minute left togo in this one second down kneel down
from street and I'll have to takeone more kneel down on third down before

(02:27:35):
will be officially done in the ballgame. A very melancholy Boyceville stands thirty
five seconds left to go. Onemore kneel down here though, snap it,

(02:27:56):
kneel down. The Edgar players willrun. They're far side. The
Boyceville players will begin to slunk offto their their near sideline as the Edgar
Wildcats will win this game by afinal score of fifty two to twenty six.
Edgar jumped out to the Big Leagueearly. Then the teams began to

(02:28:18):
match score after score after score, but Boyceville was never able to bring the
deficit to it in less than twoscores at any point in time. In
this ball game, oh again, the Edgar Wildcats win by the final score
of fifty two to twenty six. They'll move on to the fourth round of

(02:28:39):
the playoffs. Boyceville season, cometo it, Awn, We'll take one
more break. When we come back, we will put the finishing touches on
this game. This is high schoolfootball action on Moose Country. One OZH
six point seven Mosquitos Mosquito Mosquito Huntersof the Chipper Valley wants to congratulate and

Boyceville High School. Scott monazanal withyou, the Edgirl Wildcats legendary program and
Wisconsin high school football. Hell, they know what they've done over fifty years

(02:30:09):
has no direct bearing on what wasgoing to happen tonight. But boy,
old boy, they showed out tonight, didn't They name Lee Carter? But
Edgar wins fifty two to twenty six. Edgar moves on to a spot they
have been to a lot. Thefourth round of the playoffs next week.
As for Boyceville, one of thebest seasons in program history, the outright

(02:30:31):
done Saint Croix Conference Crown. Theyhad a lot of momentum. They were
bringing an awful lot with them intotonight's game. Their season, though,
will come to an end tonight Boyceville. This will be one of the greatest
seasons, they've had nothing but positives. All of that. The season is
never a disappointment once you get tothis round of the playoffs. There's no

(02:30:54):
way you can talk yourself into thisbeing a disappointment having gone into the third
out of the playoffs. But thatdoesn't mean there's not sadness, that there's
not a pang of disappointment at thismoment. The accomplishment will settle in as
time goes on, but right now, a lot of sad faces on that
Boyceville sideline, and especially for thoseseniors, all of those you know what,

(02:31:18):
you may have built, the cultureand all of that sort of thing,
the seeds that were planted this year. You could see him as an
alum, but you're not going tobe a direct part of it after this
year. Your your competitive football careerfor most of these guys is over after
tonight. That too is a realitythat sinks in over the next little bit.

(02:31:41):
But again, it does not takeaway what was accomplished all season for
Boyceville. The key in tonight's gameboth teams scored, Edgar just scored more.
Boyceville could not stop Edgar in thisgame. If you were to say
before the game that you would haveseventy eight points scored in this game,

(02:32:03):
I would have slapped you across thehead and said you're crazy. These two
teams combined this year to allow fiftynine total points. That was it coming
into this game. All season, the teams hadn't allowed sixty points all year
combined. Tonight we see seventy eightpoints score combined Boyceville Tonight gets twenty six

(02:32:24):
points. They score. They're gettingbig play after big play after big play
in tonight's ball game, left andright. But but but they couldn't stop
Carter butt off the Edgar Wildcats. So defense ended up not being the star
of tonight's game. The star oftonight's game was offense on both sides,

(02:32:48):
and Edgar just had a lot moreof it, namely with Carter. But
Edgar season will continue, They'll moveto eleven and one. Boyceville season ends
at eleven and one. Well, folks, that'll wrap up our high school
football schedule on Moose Country. Onezero six point seven. Big thanks to
everybody with iHeartMedia, Big thanks toall of you for tuning in as well,

(02:33:09):
and of course, a big thanksto Tyler, our friend back at
the Studios. Great job done byhim and everybody as always. Well,
that'll wrap it up for us heretonight from Boyceville. Boyceville falls to Edgar
in the third round of the playoffs, fifty two to twenty six. On
behalf of everybody who made this broadcastpossible, I'm Scott Monosano sainting. There's

(02:33:31):
a great, big, beautiful tomorrowshining at the end of every day.
