The game is over all George Moneyin the pain, but the postgame reaction
has just begote gohi letard is sosmooth in the mid range. This is
Clippers locker Room, a recap oftoday's game and a look ahead on your
hope for LA Clippers basketball at nowyour host, You, sir, are
a bad man, Adam Ousley.Clippers win one thirty four to one twenty

(00:25):
six as they survive fifty from StephCurry and beat the Golden State Warriors.
Here from Crypto dot com Arena.I'm Adam Oslin. Welcome to your postgame
show. Coming up. We gotsecond half highlights in your post game box
score, Clipper Nation. What avictory, biggest win of the season.
Considering there's just twelve games left nowand the Clippers have won four straight and

(00:47):
I believe have the longest winning streetcurrently in the Western Conference or at least
tied for it. Nope, theystand alone in that category. They improve
to being the fifth seed as tonightwas to determine that for the moment.
There's still a lot of time leftin the season and a lot of jockeying
for position in the Western Conference standings. Of course, with how close things

(01:08):
are sees five through ten, separatingthemselves by just two make it three games
now, but the Clippers being ableto take down a Golden State Warriors team
that got this level of performance fromSteph Curry where you could tell they circled
this one. I heard it theother night, but when the Golden State
Warriors, who just had two reallygood victories over the Bucks and over the

(01:30):
Suns. After that Sun's game,Steph talked about getting one on the road,
and they're on a five game roadtrip. This was game one of
that road trip for them, andI felt like they put out their best
effort to try to switch up thatnarrative. Where they are now seven and
twenty seven on the road so farthis season, which is a little bit
perplexing coming from the defending champs. They gave the Clippers their best shot tonight,

(01:55):
but I felt like the Clippers answeredthe call each and every time.
They'd end up getting thirty from KawhiLeonard twenty four from PG thirteen, who
hit two huge three pointers in thefourth quarter, including the dagger that had
Steve Kerr calling off the Dogs,or so we thought. He took Steph
Curry out of the ball game, but they were still intentionally fouling late.
They were still trying to find away to just get back into this one,

(02:20):
but surviving fifty from Steph Curry wherehe had a twenty one point third
quarter, and the Clippers ended upwinning the third quarter. Anyways, part
of the reason was Eric Gordon egHe finished with fourteen of his sixteen points
in that third quarter. Just anincredible performance, and he kind of countered
some of those deep threes and thatability to stretch the floor. Well,

(02:42):
Eric Gordon was able to do someof that. He hit all four of
us three pointers in that third quarter. Or now rejoined by our voice of
the Clippers in Noah Eagle, Noahbiggest victory of the season, considering everything
at stake in this one, andI thought they took Golden State's best shot,
who was out Hunteam for a victoryon the road, a nationally televised
game. They gave the Clippers everythingto overcome the Steph Curry performance, to

(03:07):
overcome, to your point, theferocity the Warriors were playing with to start
this game, and to play theway the Clippers did down the stretch to
find a way through it. Tospike, Golden State making the runs,
tremendous stuff, tremendous, tremendous stuff, showing growth again from not giving up
their lead for when Golden State makesthe run, remaining calm, the veterans
playing like veterans, the youngsters playinglike young up and coming stars. I

(03:30):
thought this was a complete win,a team win, and a win that
you build on now moving forward therest of the season. And they were
down fourth about nine minutes left inthat third quarter, and it said,
I want to see what this Clippersteam is made of right now, and
they showed it to you. They'reback to that resilient, natured crew that
never gives in no matter what thescore is, no matter what a player

(03:51):
is doing going supernova like Steph Curry's. Isn't the third They won that third
quarter regardless by three points. Thatis something that we really haven't. They
beat Golden State at their own gamein some ways, no doubt about it.
Look this was you look at thisthe breakdown and quarter to quarter to
quarter twenty eight twenty three. TheClippers win the first, but then it
was highest scoring the rest of theway, and that's what Golden State wants.

(04:12):
They're one of the highest scoring teamsin the NBA. In fact,
they're second in the league behind Sacramentoat one eighteen point two a game,
despite being fourteenth and offensive rating. But their pace is so great that they
score a lot. So if youwant to beat them, you gotta score
a lot, and the Clippers didexactly that. Thirty three, thirty eight,
thirty five the last three quarters. They put up one thirty four in
this game. You put up onethirty four most games you're gonna win.
But even with Steph Curry going forfifty and Golden State being hot at different

(04:34):
points in this game, this onejust felt like it meant a little more.
And the Clippers get in the wwe'll see if they can build on
it even more. The momentum isobvious right now for this team, and
even though Golden State outshoots them atfifty five percent from the field forty seven
percent from the outside, Clippers arerespectable forty eight percent and forty seven percent
themselves from distance. But the differencewas they only turn the basketball over eight

(04:58):
times, and that eighth turnover waswell a little bit of a token turnover
late. Somebody had to have it. Yeah, the Golden State. Okay,
yeah, look, that was oneof the biggest factors of this game.
When you're gonna overcome a big scoringperformance like that, you've got to
win the turnover battle by a fairlywide margin, and the Clippers did that
and then some. So that wasgood to see. And it's good to
see them forcing turnovers the way theydid tonight against a team that's got guys

(05:20):
who have been in the biggest ofmoments on the biggest of stages. Usually
things don't FaZe them, but itfelt like today the Clippers got to them
just enough. And there's not enoughsuperlatives about this win. There's not enough
superlatives about this team, the waythey're playing right now. It's crazy how
much can change in the matter oftwo weeks. Two weeks ago you would
have thought the season was over, and now new life with only half a

(05:43):
game separating the Clippers and the fourseed, with one more matchup with that
same Phoenix Suns team at the endof the year. Good things happening now
it's about continuing there. Clippers winone thirty four to one twenty six over
the Golden State Warriors. Their nextone is coming up against a team that's
been playing better basketball and beat theClippers in ot in Orlando, Clippers host

Yeah, the goat was in thebuilding and the young goat and Noah Eagles

(07:38):
speaking of let's get to him.Clippers were leading at the half by just
three at sixty one to fifty eighthere. Even though they shot worse than
the Golden State Warriors in that firsthalf, the difference was offensive rebounds and
not turning the basketball over. Thatcontinued into the second half and Eric Gordon's

(08:00):
up up Big Gordon a right wingthree, big yall. Eric Gordon makes
it rain time out Golden State seventyseven seventies six forty to go on the
third Loony cutting the room. Ohe raced at the rim. It's soup
block number one. Gordon, samespot, save resolved book it for Eric

(08:20):
Gordon on the right wing for three, and the Clippers have their largest lead
at ten. It's eighty to seventy. Blab it outside Gordon a right wing
three is up, book it.Eric Gordon drills another, his third three
of the quarter makes it ninety foureighty eight. La Gordon gets the spring
from fumly bounce bass inside, flummykick out man swing. It's Leonard pump,

(08:41):
big drive middle outside Gordon a leftwing three kaboom, great book wood
been by the Clippers and they leadninety nine ninety one. They would lead
ninety nine ninety three by the endof the third quarter, a quarter where
Steph Curry had twenty one of hisfifty points, and the Clippers still outscored

(09:03):
the Golden State Warriors by three inthe third well the score of thirty eight
to thirty five, so they're upsix heading into the fourth quarter. Down
the stretch. You always got torely on your superstars. In the two
one three connection, Leonard left pointthree is up. It's down kol wide
Leonards got thirty one eighteen one ohsix. Clippers back up twelve. Gordon
will take his time from right toleft. Find George top the Keys.

(09:26):
He's up the three ball knocks itdown PG thirteen with twenty one, one,
twenty three, one fifteen, LaGeorge and left wint three book it.
Paul George, Butter and the Clipperslead by thirteen. They're largest of
the night, one thirty two,one nineteen. That was the dagger thanks
to some hot shooting, some hustleplays, Clippers getting sixteen offensive rebounds.

(09:52):
They would withstand the fifty spot fromSteph Curry and win one thirty four to
one twenty six over the Golden StateWarriors. Coming up next were previous Saturday's
game Clippers staying here, final gameof this five game homestand they're taken on

Paul George LA Clippers Basketball continue facinghis pains as he ferries the three
on the home of your LA Clippers. Roll on. Clippers win one thirty
four to one twenty six over theGolden State Warriors thanks to thirty from Kauai,
twenty four from Paul George, anda couple of clutch threes late And

(10:35):
how about a Visa Zubosch clutch atthe free throw line finished with nineteen and
sixteen and a block. This wassomeone who used to get played off the
floor by Golden State's small ball. You see the maturation of Big Zoo there.
Eric gordon I mentioned him. Sixteenpoints, fourteen of which came in
that third quarter, and Terrence manunbelievable performance three offensive rebounds, was making

(11:01):
the hustle plays, giving them extrapossessions. Clippers ended up getting up eight
more shots than Golden State, andthat was the difference because the Warriors actually
outshot them fifty five percent from thefield forty seven percent from the outside,
Clippers forty eight percent from the field, also forty seven percent from the outside
forty seven point one compared to fortyseven point two for Golden State, if

(11:22):
you want to be technical about it. Clippers four straight game of having fifty
points or more in the paint, they finished right at fifty. Warriors with
forty eight. Clippers second chance pointsthough twenty seven on eleven of sixteen.
Shooting those extra possessions, those hustleplays, those offensive rebounds and taking care
of the basketball. It got themthe win. That is championship level type

(11:43):
of stuff. And they do soagainst the defending champs and the Golden State
Warriors tonight with just twelve games toplay. That next game is coming up
on Saturday. Tip Off is atnoon. Clippers right back here at Crypto

(14:00):
win of the season. Can't emphasizethat enough, not just because it gets
into four straight, but the qualityof competition that they were able to take
down in this one because Golden State, yes, I know they were seven
and twenty six on the road headinginto the ball game. They did not
play like that team they're trying toflip the narrative. They gave the Clippers

(14:24):
everything they had, including fifty fromSteph Curry in a game where they shot
fifty five percent as a team fortyseven percent from the outside, and the
Clippers win the difference. Clippers withhalf as many turnovers as Golden State Warriors
had sixteen, Clippers just eight, and the Clippers had nine more offensive rebounds

(14:48):
sixteen of them. They end upshooting under what Golden State was at just
forty eight percent from the field toGolden States fifty five percent, but they
got to the free tri line becausethey were scoring points in the paint with
fifty of them and a few moreshots up let's call it, yeah,
eight more shots up than the GoldenState Warriors, and that made up the

(15:09):
disparity in terms of shooting percentage, more possessions out there for the Clippers,
attacking the basket, rim pressure, hustle plays, Russell Westbrook two offensive rebounds
in that fourth quarter, Terrence Manthree offensive rebounds, huge place. When
the Clippers were missing, they weregetting extra shots up anyways and making the

(15:33):
most of them. And how aboutBig Zoo with nineteen and sixteen. This
was someone who the Golden State Warriorsused to pick on when they went small
Zoo couldn't stay on the floor withthem. Now it's going the other way.
He's punishing them on both ends.Sixteen rebounds, got Draymond Green and

(15:56):
foul trouble. They went to himto I to get Draymond and foul trouble
and get him that six foul inthe fourth quarter. But Zubots finished with
nineteen and sixteen and a block, one of the best games really of his
career on the regular season, becauseI'm telling you the maturation process and what

(16:17):
you're seeing from him is a completelydifferent player than he was in twenty nineteen.
In that playoff series against Golden StateWarriors, they took him off the
floor. He would just was renderedineffective because they went small. They'd bring
him out to the perimeter where VisaZubots is much better now guarding guys.
And don't get me wrong, Stephcan hit shots over anyone at any time

(16:40):
in the history of the NBA.There's never been a better shooter like this.
The Clippers played great defense on himmost of the time. He still
had fifty, He still hit eightthrees. He had as many miss shots
as he had made threes, justeight missshots when eight to fourteen though from
the outside, twenty of twenty eightoverall to get to fifty, and had

(17:02):
a twenty one point third quarter,a third quarter that the Clippers won.
Anyways, that is the growth fromthis team. That is them turning a
corner. I said it did theClippers save their season after they came back
down fifteen in the fourth quarter.Nobody had to come back like that all

(17:23):
season long. Against the Memphis Grizzliesabout a week and a half ago on
that Sunday night, they gave upa fifty one spot in that third quarter.
They were down fifteen, down byas many as sixteen in the fourth.
After giving up fifty one points inthe third, and they came back
and won, and it looked likethey flipped a switch. Finally they dug

(17:45):
their heels in defensively, and Ithought, believe it or not, they
played pretty good defense. It justdoesn't matter against that Curry sometimes and a
hot Street and Golden State Warriors teamthat hit seventeen threes. But the last
three games now, they played witha sense of desperation out there. You
can see it when they need bigshots, their superstars are stepping up.

(18:10):
Paul George two huge threes and theDagger three and the fourth Kawhi Leonard.
He had ten of his thirty inthat third quarter. Eric Gordon, who's
been a bit of a revelation nowin closing lineups. He's playing crunch time,
clutch time minutes the last three gamesnow and had fourteen of his sixteen

(18:30):
points in that third quarter alone andhit four three pointers. He tried to
counteract Steph Curry's twenty one, butalso was doing some of the little things,
making hustle plays. And when theClippers do that, when they get
down and dirty, and when yousee are superstars on the floor diving from

(18:52):
loose balls. We saw it withKawhi Leonard. I couldn't believe they called
it a jump ball there. Ithink it was him in Jordan pool.
Looked like Hawai was easily fouled. But seeing your stars like that play both
ends of the court, dig indefensively and then also show up on the
offensive end, you get behind himas a leadership guys rally around that.

(19:15):
But I thought there were so manybig plays, including a Nicholas Battoum three
pointer in the second half that wasvery much needed to stop a Golden State
Warriors run, and they had afour point lead early in the third quarter,
and Noah Eagles said it, comingback from time out, you could
sense the momentum shifting, and Noahsaid, I want to see what this

(19:36):
Clippers team is made of right now, because this game could go one of
two ways. It could swing rightback into the favor of the Golden State
Warriors like it did a week agoin Golden State where they just ambushed and
blitzed the Clippers in that third quarterand the rest of the way, and
the Clippers were waving the white flagat the seven minute mark of the fourth
quarter and lost by I want tostay twenty four or this Clippers is going

(20:00):
to show us something that they havematured that they aren't that team that they
are playing for Forty eight minutes hardon both ends doesn't mean you're always going
to get the victory. Sometimes theteam has a hot shooting night. Golden
State did, though, and theClippers still won. That speaks to the
talent level of this team. GoldenState didn't have Andrew Wiggins got it.

(20:25):
Clippers didn't have a Norman Powell, and they have guys coming at you every
which way and so many little thingsin this one. Decided it would just
get into extra rebounds out there, offensive rebounds and punishing a smaller team and
taking advantage of the size that theClippers had in their favor. Credit Big
Zoo. I thought Russell Westbrook hadsome big moments. He had two offensive

(20:49):
rebounds that he turned into points forhimself in that fourth quarter and seven assists
to zero turnovers. He found Nicholasbut tune for that big three. But
Kawai steady ten of nineteen, threethree pointers, thirty points. Paul George
twenty four was aggressive, took moreshots than Kawai at twenty one, just

(21:11):
went eight of twenty one, butthe timing of some of his shots in
his makes were big. Those twothree pointers in the fourth quarter. I
don't know if they can hold backthe floodgates of the Splash Brothers and Steph
Curry without him Terrence Man though, end of the third end of the fourth,
when they were having those issues midwaythrough the third quarter and it was

(21:34):
going back and forth, it wasreally Terrence Man and Eric Gordon three pointers
that I thought turned this game rightback into the clippers favor, even while
was standing twenty one points in thatquarter from Steph Curry. There's only so
much you can do there. Butif you make up for the hots shooting

(21:55):
by getting extra shots up yourself throughhustle plays and just continue to play through
it, that's something to be admired. A team winning a game where it
looks like Steph Curry is in godmode and can't miss and it's just inevitables
that he's going to beat you,and the Clippers just kept fighting. Okay,
We're gonna play through all these madeshots by step Eventually he might cool

(22:18):
off, and hey, he onlyhad nine points in the fourth quarter.
Best victory of the season for theClippers eight six six ninety eight seven,
two, five, seventy eight, six six ninety eight seven two five seventies
sewn in Inglewood. Sean's not back, Steve and Lahabra Habber Heights. Steve,
what's up here on Clipperstock, notLabber Heights. I'm not that fancy.

(22:41):
I lived in Lowlands. That's fine. Lab works for us here on
Clipperstock. What's up Steve? Homeof the Highlanders sleeps Sonora. Anyways,
you know, I've been watching basketballa really long time. I'm fifty six
years old. I remember it enforcerslike Maurice Lucas, Bill Lambier, Rick
Mahorne, Farrows Oakley. Those guysplayed clean, you know, did they?

(23:04):
But you know, I think manypeople of that arrow would beg to
differ. Those guys played clean, including Robert Parrish. I think you're compared
to that's a little bit revisionist history. I'm old, I'm old, I've
been ricking whiskey. But compared onthat six foul on zubos, he tried
to injure his zubos. So whatGreen did is what he was laying on

(23:29):
the ground. He twisted his feetand ankles against zu bots knees like an
MMA wrestler, literally trying to injurehim. If you look it over again,
look at the tape, that's wherehe did. Green's laying on his
back and he rolls over, triedto twist his legs almost like an NFL
football player. Well and to almostinjury. They overturned the call. That's

(23:51):
that's what hurt the most. Isa bum And you know Adam Silver wants
to clean the image up of theNBA. But then I get that which
she really needs to do. Butwhat uh Silver nes do is put his
silver hammer hit down and disciplined Green. Go over that tape him suspending Luck
Steve because he is going to besuspended the next game because he picked up
a sixteenth technical, so he's duefor a suspension. That technical will throwing

(24:15):
the ball at Russell Westbrook in thefirst half will get him one game miss
coming up here. Well, that'sit. How do you have sixteen technicals
in a season? It's not eventowards the end of the season. I
mean I would say after ten youget your eleventh, that's one game,
you get your twelfth, that's two. It's so on and so forth.
I mean sixteen technicals. The dude'sa dirty player. I mean what he

(24:37):
did in Lebron kick him in theteam. Anything on the positive side without
just focusing on Draymond Green and thehatred coming his way from you tonight.
I'm really, really, I'm reallyhappy of this Clippers team. I'm a
Clipper fan going back to Bill Walton, Marcus Johnson. Loved those teams.
But when they were playing, youknow, I was at Anaheim could Benchet

(25:00):
Center when our arena when they DannyManning and hit that group had to play
Charles Smith, you know, overthere against Harpodcast five. Lou was a
great coach for this team. Iwish the claw would play a lot more
during the regular season, but they'rejelling at the right time, and I

(25:21):
think they're gonna go deep into theplayoffs if they stay healthy and play as
a team. Russell Westbrook is agraded player for this team, as long
as he plays under control and realizesto drive and pass or just shoot within
all right, Steve, I appreciatethe phone call. I think the whiskey
starting to slow down. I appreciateyou, though, and we'll talk to

(25:41):
you on Saturday eight six six ninetyeight seven two five seventy eight six six
ninety eight seven two five seventy.Clippers win one thirty four to one twenty
six. Even with a wild Turkeygame from Steph Curry where he dropped fifty
doesn't matter. Clippers overcome that withstand it somehow, some way, great

(26:02):
team basketball, some critical shots andfree throws made. They went twenty six
to thirty two from the free throwline. We've been talking about it for
the last week now. They've beenmuch better in getting points in the paint
and usually when you do that, you're gonna get to the line a lot
more. You can win games there. No Eagles brought it up. They
did so a lot a couple ofseasons ago when they made that Western Conference
Finals. Run more Clippers stock.Next, you're listening to AM five seventy

(26:26):
LA Sports. Oh Paul George LAClippers Basketball continue fis in his pains as
he ferries the three on the homeof your LA Clippers. Clippers win one
thirty four to one twenty six overthe Golden State Warriors. Here from Crypto
dot Com areno welcome back into yourpost games show. I'm Adam Oslin.
This is Clippers Talk. Eight sixsix ninety eight seven two five seventy eight

(26:48):
six six ninety seven two five seventy. I want to highlight Terrence Man here,
who was averaging just six point sevenpoints per game in his last seven
games. Tonight was his highest pointstotal at sixteen, since the great game
he had in Phoenix right before theAll Star Break where he had twenty six.
But the end of the third quarteroffensive rebound leading to an Eric Gordon

(27:11):
three, huge play from Terrence Man. Then to start the fourth quarter,
multiple offensive rebounds leading to him gettinga two point shot up and and one.
And then he was and he's oneof the best guys cutting through the
lane on the Clippers, probably thebest, but Paul George found him for
an assist for an easy layup. That stuff is just invaluable. It's so

(27:37):
critical energy plays. He was gettingthe crowd into it. And then Russell
Westbrook had an offensive rebound, hita bank shot, had another one,
got a layup assist Nicholas but Tunefor a three pointer. In the fourth
quarter, Terrence drew another foul, got to the free throw line. Clippers
got there early and often can wingames there too. But then Kawhik comes

(28:00):
back in he knocks down a bigthree point or trying to match what Steph
Curry was doing, and the Clippersend up pulling this one out with a
couple of big threes from Paul Georgein the fourth quarter and Big Zoo at
the free throw line. How manydid he end up taking in the fourth
quarter? He was three or fourhe ended up taking. Let's see,

(28:22):
he went four or four from thefree throw line in the fourth that's big.
Your big man can't get played offthe court if he's hitting free throws
like that and rotating like that anddoing his damn this to try to stop
Steph Curry from getting off shots inthe perimeter, rainbow threes over the top,
hierarchying drk Nabinski type three point shotsfrom Steph Curry when he has to

(28:45):
put him over big Zoo, Jeff, and you're Belinda, Jeff, you're
on Clippers stop without hm Oslin. What's up, hey, Adam? Just
heading home for the game. Andthat was awesome. I'll tell you.
I think it's the only way westop Steph three tonight. It was to
put it that on. But hisfifty points, two rebounds, I think,

(29:07):
and six assists, I'd much ratherhave the Westbrook man than Gordon eight
thirteen and eleven. And then wehave our two superstars in George and Kawhi
doing their things. So awesome game. Well, the Clippers certainly had more
balanced. They had six guys indouble figures Kawhi, Big Zoo, Paul

(29:29):
George Russell Westbrook, Eric Gordon, and Terrence Man off the bench. Nicholas
Batoum though in twenty minutes I mentionedthat three hitting the fourth quarter went two
or four from the outside. Thatwas good to see. It's been really
feast or famine up and down seasonshooting wise for Nicholas Batoum. Would love
to see him catch a rhythm asthey get closer to the playoffs. Here,
let's go to Sean and Inglewood ornow he's in Chicago Shytown. He's

(29:55):
watching Patrick Beverley. Sean, what'sup, Mr? Free How are you
stayed up late to watch the game? They call you and just want to
say, man, when I likewas the offense just kept pushing, kept
flowing. They didn't get nervous likethey usually get rattled when they play Golden
State. They just kept up theintensity and they played with a purpose.

(30:19):
I like it so, and thenthey worked the boards like they should work
the boards, and ty Lou didn'tget small ball itis. He didn't try
to out Golden State Golden State. He just kept the big guys in there
and kept them on the boards.Even though sometimes they got exploited on the
pick and roll, it didn't matterbecause they were killing them on the boards

(30:42):
and getting Golden State into foul trouble. So I liked the game plan.
I liked the purpose. Eric Gordon, thank you very much. And it
was just a good game from beginningto end. And keep fighting because as
I told you, they're going overto take seed. They're just a half

(31:04):
game out and pretty much, youknow, I just like their chances of
being a fourth seed, maybe possiblyif Memphis goes on the loosing street to
third Street. See so, anyway, how are you today? I'm good,
Sean. I appreciate the phone call. I don't know if anybody's asked

(31:25):
me that before on Clipperstock. We'reall fine here. How are you?
The old Han solo running out stuffto talk about? Eric Gordon? You
mentioned him also had a floater inthe fourth quarter that was big. I
know Sean and Engle would love seeingthe Clippers play some bulleyball, playing big
out there and a visa Zubots playinglate in games where you had some combination

(31:48):
of the guards between Eric Gordon andTerrence Man and Russell Westbrook out there at
times in the fourth quarter you hadNichols, but toumb given minutes in the
fourth big zoos. I mentioned PaulGeorge and Kauai, of course, but
I really liked the rotations for themost part. Obviously, things also changed
because Marcus Morris was ejected at theends of the first half. He got

(32:14):
into it with Draymond Green. Hewas ejected. I didn't think it was
gonna be a flagrant too, butthe Clippers started the second half and put
in Eric Gordon. I believe, and he's worked everything with Eric Gordon so
far back with the Clippers has beenso positive. I know he had a
couple of bad games coming out ofthe All Star Break, but I want

(32:36):
to say since the game up inSacramento, he's been huge for this team
and maybe one of the guys indeath lineups because he can guard up.
He's a better defender than Norman Powell, someone who they still have to find
minutes for of course when he returns, and he'll be reevaluated with that shoulder
injury coming up in a couple ofdays. But Eric Gordon could find himself

(32:58):
in a lot of big spots latein playoff games, I think because the
way he can stretch the floor andthe way you can also switch defensively.
I thought there were a couple oftimes where he got switched on. The
Steph did all he could. Hegot him to miss a shot in the
fourth quarter, and by the way, Kawhi and Paul George didn't shy away
from the challenge. There was aI think it was second quarter where PG
they tried to get the switch withhim onto de Vincenzo so Steph could be

(33:22):
matched up against Russell Westbrook and PGjust fought right through the screen. And
then there was a moment in thefourth quarter when they tried to get the
switch. The problem was the manwho was screening had Kawhi Leonard on him.
So you gladly go, okay, you don't want to be matched up

(33:42):
against Paul George. Steff, Well, here's Kawhi Leonard being thrown at you.
That's the type of stuff we've beenlooking forward to with the two on
three connection and just how good thosetwo wings are defensively there are otherworldly on
that end, especially now they bothlook healthy out there, as healthy as
they have looked all season. Why, of course, coming off the ACLUH,
he's making history, I believe withthis response off a serious knee injury

(34:07):
and coming back stronger once again, had the quadricep injury with the San Antonio
Spurs, came back better than ever. The same thing is happening now with
the ACL where he is at fiftyfifty ninety splits since January seventh or eighth.
Now, he's been that good. He's been arguably the best player in
the league. I know, NicolaYokic, just he doesn't slow down and

(34:30):
will likely win. All right, you know what you honest, Danna Komper
will making a run here. Let'sgo to James and Saint George James.
There's an MVP James. What's uphere on Clipper side without himss? So
give him credit to is Tylu becauseokay, can you hear me, James?

(34:52):
Your phone sucks as usual. Idon't know what the deal is.
Maybe just get to be all onTwitter at follow out of a appreciate the
phone call. We'll take a timeout, We'll come back. More Clippers
Talk. They win one thirty fourto one twenty six over the Golden State
Warriors and Steph Curry who had fiftyand eight threes, and some of the

(35:14):
shots that he hits can be reallydemoralizing because you do all you can.
Paul George played him perfectly on thisbaseline. Fadeaway in the nearest side and
Steph got to go anyway. He'sjust that good, greatest shooter ever,
still doing it at thirty five,So coming back More Clippers Talk eight six

(35:34):
six nine eight seven two five seventyeight six six ninety seven two five seventy
year listening to AM five seventy LAsports. Who is blocked by George this
LA Clippers basketball. He is aone man king, crawl and defensive man
on the home of your LA Clippers. Clippers win one thirty four to one
twenty six silver Steph Curry in hisfifty spot and the Golden State Warriors.

(35:58):
Welcome back in Clipper Stock. I'mat a Moslin taking you till the top
of the hour eight six six ninetyat seven two five seventy eight six six
ninety at seven two five seventy isthe phone number still gonna hear from coach
Slow when we got postgame audio fromthe players as well. But I just
saw this quote Paul George post gamesaid, and this was regarding surviving a

(36:20):
fifty point game from Steph Curry quote, We're gonna be good. We got
two on our side. That's thenumber of choir. Whereas you want to
talk about poised, that's the mostpoised guy in that situation. Kawai is
as steady as it gets. Hecould have a monster dunk and be expressionless.
It doesn't matter. It's rare tosee him show emotion. And that's

(36:45):
a great quality to have because you'realways steady, you're even keel, never
two up, never two down, and he leads by example in that way.
All Right, we got Will Updikeon from Clips and Dip does the
podcast with myself and Charles Mockler.Well let's start with this and maybe this

(37:05):
will be the only question I have. Was something born out of that fifty
one to the third quarter that wasput on the Clippers where they had to
come back against Memphis about a weekand a half ago. Oh God,
I hope so I can only hopethough it felt like that was definitely burning
in their veins tonight at a homeWhat a win, just firing on all
cylinders. So just so much goodto come out of this game, from

(37:31):
just the performance from Kwai and PaulGeorge to all the contributing players. And
how about that closing lineup. Wegot Terrence Man, we got Paul George,
we got Kawhi, we got thetwo. Even Big Zoo was in
there after a monster game. Igot a question for you, does that
happen if not for the Marcus Morrissubjection? I can't answer that. We'll

(37:52):
see if there was anyone asked thatpost game afterwards, I don't know,
but it was a winning formula.Obviously. Eric Gordon was in there a
lot of the fourth quarter two.I thought he was critical for this team.
You know, we talked about iton the podcast recently. Who are
those guys outside of Kauai and PGthat we know are going to be there

(38:14):
in crunchtime situations And it's starting tolook like Eric Gordon could be one for
coach Lou Yeah. I mean whenhe has it going like that. He
was absolutely pivotal in that second halfwhere we kind of let the rein slip
a little bit after a little bitof a shaky clothes to that to the
first half, just absolutely incredible, just these beep three, his physicality and

(38:37):
switchability defensively, it's really really good. I mean I think that you know,
I said coming in the season, this is gonna be Tyler's hardest season
to coach, right, Like, you have so many guys who are who
are begging for minutes in this rotation, and now you know with the emergence
of Eric Gordon, so certainly wesaw some great stuff from Rust and Night

(39:00):
and how solid Terence Man has been. You know, I just wonder now
it feels like so long since Enormouseven been in this lineup. It's just
there's it's a good problem to have, but at the same time, it's
you know, it is a littlebit of a it is a little bit
of a problem. It is alittle bit of a log jam with this
many guys begging for minutes. Therewas a play by Eric Gordon the fourth

(39:23):
he didn't score on it. Ithink he was up against Stevencenzo though,
like the matchup, and was justtrying to back him down like he was
Anthony Mason. He missed the shot, but it was tipped in by a
Beza Zubots who had a stellar performance. And I brought this up earlier,
Will, but this was someone whoused to get played off the court when
teams went small, specifically the GoldenState Warriors. And now he's a weapon

(39:45):
on both ends. He's punishing them. Oh absolutely, And this was I
mean, yes, while he wasplayed off the floor in a playoff scenario.
He's grown so much since then. But I said this game, this
was a good opportunity, especially theWarriors with no Wiggins, for the Clippers
to kind of leverage that size thatthey had, and I feel like big

(40:07):
Zoo with sixteen boards, he wasable to do just that. I was
a little bit surprised that we didn'tgo to him a little bit offensive early,
especially when the shots were looking offfor both Kawai and Paul George.
Warriors got off to that quick start. But you know, ultimately, yeah,
he made a massive impact, andyeah, he's just he can.
He's his progress is steady, butit does seem to be continuous thus far

(40:32):
in his tenure worth the Clippers.Someone else who made a ton of hustle
plays from the end of the thirdthroughout the fourth quarter was Terrence Man,
who looked like he was shot outof a cannon. He got Eric Gordon
a three pointer at the end ofthe third through an offensive rebound. He
got himself in and one an oldfashioned three point play to start off the
fourth quarter. This was the bestgame he's played since the game right before

(40:54):
the All Star break against Phoenix.No. Oh, absolutely, I mean,
you know, huge matchup for theClippers, huge matchup for the standings,
and like, once again, he'sanother guy like with the size,
with the physicality in some of thesematchups. I you know, I thought
coming into this game this was goingto be a match up where Terrence could
really shine. I wasn't sure howmuch it would show up in the box

(41:15):
score seventeen four and three highest scoreroff the bench. I just don't know,
like if if that's the performance you'regetting out of Terrence Man, that's
a guy who has to be inyour nine or eight man lineup, which
I do see him being. Butgetting like getting to see him close out
the game tonight, it was absolutelygreat. It's you know, definitely a

(41:37):
step in the right direction for thesquad. Played twenty five minutes in this
one. I still felt like thetwo on three connection Paul George and Kawhi
Leonard were very much present and askingfor the basketball and asking for the tough
defensive assignments on Steph Curry, especiallylate in this one. Steph only had
nine points of his fifty in thefourth quarter. I just want to throw

(41:59):
that out there. But I lovethe way the two one three connection has
been closing ever since that Memphis gamewhere they took over late and Kawai hat
fifteen points in the last six minutesand Paul George had that big footback rebound.
It just looks like, Okay,it's our time to take over.
This is what we're here to do. And they've they've lived up to their

(42:19):
end of the bargain. I feellike the last four games, oh definitely,
yeah, And they've both been kindof uh, you know, Paul
George is ascending to the peak thatKawai has been on for this last stretch
of games, and Kawhi right now, it's just it's starting to look so
effortless. And that's not to saythat he isn't trying, like it's just
he he's gotten back to his fuelfor the game, where you know he's

(42:43):
getting to his spots offensively, he'smore than capable of taking on the toughest
assignments defensively, and it just seemslike everything is moving like a step slower
around him than where he's at rightnow, which you know, God if
he could stay for this, forthis last stretch of games and ends the
play off. Look, I knowwe've talked a lot about seating. I
know we've talked a lot about howclose things are on the West and even

(43:06):
in the first round, you couldhave a you could you know, you
could have an insane matchup. Butwith this guy on the floor, I
don't know, it's it crazy.I think anything is kind of possible.
They have a certain level of beliefwith Kawhi Leonard out there, and as
does he. He said it theother day post game, like if I'm
out there, I feel like wecan win, and he doesn't often.

(43:30):
I think that's more of his personalitymaybe behind the scenes. We heard that
story before in the locker room inthe Eastern Conference Finals back in twenty nineteen
when they were down two oh withthe Toronto Raptors, the Milwaukee Bucks and
Kawais said, here's what's gonna change. I'm gonna guard Yannis, and he
did, and he wrecked his offensethe rest of the series, and they
won four straight. But Kawai certainlyhas a quiet confidence about him, and

(43:55):
these guys all rally around it.All right. Well, I appreciate it
doing this tonight. I know wehave a tripod coming up on Friday with
myself and Charles Mockler as well. But thanks for doing some clips and double
dip tonight here on Clippers Talk.Absolutely, anytime after a win like this,
I'll take that every time. Don'teven don't even give Chuck the call.

(44:17):
We'll only call Will when the Clipperswin. We'll call it Chuck.
For losses, we could give methings up that way. Let's seem a
little bit unfair, all right.Coming up next here on Clippers Talk,
we'll get back to your phone callseight six six ninety eight seven two five
seventy eight six six ninety seven twofive seventy Jose Tanner, Damian, Mike
hold on, we'll get to you. Sorry, James and Saint George.

(44:38):
Your phone just doesn't work, man, I don't get it. More Clippers
Talk next here on AM five seventyalight sports. Oh Paul George La Clippers
basketball continue fis in his pains ashe carries the three on the home of
your LA Clippers. Clippers win onethirty four to one twenty six over Steph
Kurr and his fifty points in theGolden State Warriors. Well, come back

(45:00):
into Clippers talk. We are shorton time, so please give a brief
brevity the soul of Wit Damien inLa Damien. You're on Clippers side without
I am awesome triple Hey man, thanks taking my call. Bro, I
know you don't have a lot oftime. Man four little quadtrow. We're
on a row, baby, Alife with the team is headed. The

(45:21):
last time we talked, I hada simple point for the team. Was
was to tighten up on the fundamental. Happy to see that they did that.
It was the difference I thought inthe win. You're looking at everybody
having a plus in the plus minusexcept for Marcus Morris, and we're not
going to count a Mirra coffee becausethe scarbage time and everybody else had a
plus. You're looking at Russell Westbrookcoming up huge, helping us get in

(45:45):
that zone of going after the ball, coming through the ball, winning the
fifty fifty balls, the offensive rebounds, the things like that. We're really
infectious. You can see you knowwhere he's coming from with the team.
You can see the two one threeto actually dialed in. It was maybe
and I like the phone call.I appreciate it, but I mentioned we

(46:05):
gotta keep it brief. Let's goto Mike in La Mike, you're on
clipper Stock. Best win of theseason, Adam, best win of the
season. This was an incredibly importantgame, you know, neck and neck
in the standings, and the clipshift came to play. I loved it,
and I think that for all thepeople who say, well, maybe

(46:29):
they should try to get to sixor whatever not. We just got to
win games. You know. Ifwe can get to the fourth seas and
take on Phoenix in the first round, bring it all right. I like
the confidence there. Uh. Whoelse? We got Tanner in Santa Monica.
Tanner, you're Adam, long timelistener, first time caller. I
got two quick points. First, this is the Russell Westbrook that we've been

(46:52):
waiting for. He wasn't pressing,he was playing composed, and he didn't
take the bait when they were stayingoff my kind of four assists night,
when they were letting him have space, which I think other teams are going
to regret moving forward. Second point, you've been touching on this. When
we had our five game skid andall the focus was on Westbrook, we

(47:13):
weren't counting on the fact that Zoowas out all but one of those games.
And when I think of the mostimportant player on this team outside of
Paul George and Kawaiet, it's Zoo. When he's on the court, he's
a difference maker and he's gonna needto continue to be on the court for
us to go to get a trip. Thank you, Tanner, appreciate the
phone call. Agree there, Joseand Southgate quickly close things out. You

(47:34):
know what to do. What's lookingforward to the tripod on Friday, Adam
at bedtime, let's get out ofthere's Clippers. There we go and and
it's strong like the Clippers, Zayand Southgate. Clippers win one thirty four
to one twenty six over the GoldenState Warriors here from downtown Los Angeles.

(47:58):
They are in the five spot nowin the West, just a half game
back of the Phoenix Suns. Whoare in the fourth spot. Before we
get out of here, I dowant to thank the Clippers organization, Noah
Eagle, Brian Seaman, Ralph Waller. Back in the bank, we had
Katie Newton our producer here at Cryptodot Com arena. Our head engineer.
That would be Big Billow Jake Warner, Big Blow Jake Podcasts. Check it

(48:21):
