Speaker 1 (00:01):
The game is done, wrap this one up.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Now the reaction begins. This is Clippers locker Room, your
postgame look at the LA Clippers on the LA Clippers
Audio Network. Now your pre and postgame host, Adam Osland.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
No brotherly love to be found in Philadelphia. Four Your
Los Angeles Clippers as they lose another one, a heartbreaker
where James Harden had a chance to win it multiple
three pointers late, couldn't get either to go, and your
final is one cent to one oh eight in favor
of the Philadelphia seventy six ers as the Clippers dropped
(00:39):
to four and ten on this season. Welcome back into
your postgame show. I'm Adam Oslin. Coming up. We'll get
your postgame box score. We'll get to your phone calls
as well. But first back out to Carlo Jimenez. Well,
Carlo on that first three pointer on the right wing.
I know James hard went over to the officials afterwards.
I think he felt like he was fouled, didn't get
(01:01):
the call, had another attempt, just had to throw it
up from the corner. Couldn't get that one to go either.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Two good looks at it at him, But how much
can you ask James Harden to do at this point
in this season. I mean, it just feels like he's
done everything for the Clippers thirty seven minutes again to nine,
twenty eight points, five assists, six boards. I know it's
late game shots. I know it's that way your superstars do,
but this is a one man carry job offensively from
(01:28):
James Harden. I mean, the offensive rating when he's off
the floor plummets, and the teams know that they're sending
double teams his way, and it's hard for him. I
think three games and four nights at him, and he
played thirty eight or more in all of them. It's
unbelievable at his age of thirty five. So the Clippers,
you know, they were in this game, but I don't
think this game goes down on that shot. It goes
(01:51):
down when they didn't close out to Quinton Grimes outside
the arc, couldn't get to three point shooters. And credit
the Sixers. They got hot in the fourth quarter and
they hit six of their nine shots to start from
the three point line thirty five points. They finished with
thirty seven in that fourth quarter, and the Clippers defense
that was stellar through the first half just faded late
and maybe some of that's just the tired legs of
(02:12):
this team.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yeah, when it was go time, the sense of urgency
ramped up offensively for the Philadelphia seventy six Ers, Maxi
with fourteen of his thirty nine in the fourth, Quinton
Grimes with nine points in the fourth quarter alone, and
they were able to retake the lead. And it put
the Clippers in an unfamiliar position because they almost led
this thing wire to wire after their being down five
(02:34):
to nothing. Yeah, credit the Philadelphia seventy six Ers. This
Clippers team, obviously maybe some tired legs after playing yesterday
in Boston, but a similar result, unfortunately, one positive. Kobe
Sanders again invaluable experience from him that he's getting right now,
especially light in ball games out there making winning plays. Look,
(02:55):
I know they reversed that call and they said there
was a foul in of beats Zubots, but that doesn't
gate the fact that Kobe Sanders had that timely rebound
that could have been. That was great instincts by the
young man. I feel like he is wise beyond his years.
If there's something to look forward to right now with
this Clippers team being four and ten on the season,
it is the fact that Kobe Sanders is getting big minutes.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah, I mean thirty minutes today two of the biggest,
four of the biggest free throws of the game, Adam.
And this is a guy who's the fiftieth overall pick,
somebody who didn't start till his third year in college.
Five year college guy, didn't get invited to the NBA Combine,
went and played in Portsmith, which is the senior showcase,
and then got an invites straight to the NBA Combine
(03:38):
from there. What more can you say that Clippers credit
Lawrence Frank, Trent Rend and Mark Hughes, the entire scouting department.
They found a gem clearly with Kobe Sanders. I mean,
he has just looked so confident, so collected. I know,
the shot selection was great for the most part today,
seventeen points, a career high, beating his previous of nine.
The Clippers got what they need out of Kobe Sanders,
(04:00):
and they just they just fell short. I mean, I
think this is a it's a heartbreaker. I think it's
one you can definitely blame the tired legs and for
the Clippers, you got to start rattling them off at
some point because This has been a rough go to
the beginning of this road trip, a big win in Dallas,
but then back to back games where not only you
in it late, you got a chance to really create
some separation late and the Clippers could not do it
(04:22):
down the stretch.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Yeah, up by ten heading into that fourth quarter, just
to lose by two in Philadelphia, one ten to one
oh eight in favor of the seventy six ers. Was
the final Clippers start off this seven game roadie one
in two. There will be in Orlando on Thursday, so
a couple of days off for the Clippers to gather themselves.
But as a magic team that didn't exactly get out
(04:45):
of the gates the right way, they're trying to figure
things out. Not going to be any easier for this
Clipper squad. Just have to find a way. Tip off
in Orlando on Thursday at four. We'll have you a
pregame show starting at three. Carlo Hemenez, a great call,
my friend. We will talk to you on.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Thursday, Adam, we got another game, so I'll take it.
Talk to you Thursday.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Let's go coming up next, we will get two second
half highlights, postgame box score more. I'm having deja vu.
Clippers fall short again. James Harden can't get the game
winning game tying it was yesterday three pointer to go
again late, they lose in Philadelphia, one ten to one
(05:27):
oh eight. I'm Adam Moslin and you're listening to the
Los Angeles Clippers Audio Network.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
All back to more LA Clippers basketball.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Take us with you on the iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (05:41):

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Harden can't get it to go second straight day and
the Clippers lose one ten to one eight, this time
to the Philadelphia seventy six ers in Philly. Welcome back
into your postgame show. I'm Adam Oslin. Coming up. We'll
get to your phone calls eight six six ninety eight
seven two five seventy eight six six ninety eight seven
two five seventy as the phone number if you want
to get on early. Clippers ended up shooting just forty
(06:09):
percent from the field in this one, twelve of thirty
nine from the outside and those last two misses unfortunately
to try to win the game by James Harden at
the very end, he was just two of twelve from
three had twenty eight points, but seventeen of those came
in the first quarter, really struggled after that. You could
see just running out of gas in the tank, didn't
have legs left, might have gotten fouled on that right
(06:33):
wing attempt. It'll be interesting to see the two minute
report tomorrow on that from the NBA. He certainly thought
so was going up to the officials at the end.
That was the first of the two threes. He took
the very end of this ballgame to try to give
the Clippers the victory. Clippers, though they didn't get enough
from some of the others, beats the Zubats fourteen points,
(06:54):
thirteen rebounds. I need more right now without Kauwhi seven
of thirteen, it's not good enough. From Avitza Zubos, John
Collins just eleven on three of eight shooting Kobe Sanders.
He gave you everything, guys. I think I found the
comp for Kobe Sanders. He looks like with his movement,
with his hunched over dribble, he looks like a six
(07:16):
to seven t J. McConnell with the scrap he has
out there. Not the greatest athlete, but fights hard, plays hard.
Thought he had that offensive rebound or maybe he got
fouled at the end. But unfortunately they reversed that and
they said Avitza Zubats foiled Andre Drummond, so instead of
him going to the line for two in a two
(07:37):
point game, it ends up Andre Drumming going for a
line on the other end to extend it to four.
Brutal call going against the Clippers, thought Chris Dunn and
his defense was great, but Maxi too good down the
stretch as well as Quinton Grimes. Tyrese Maxi had fourteen
was thirty nine points in the fourth quarter. Quentin Grimes
had nine of his nineteen points in the fourth quarter.
(07:59):
Those guys came alive when they needed to bogie one
of six from the outside nine points. Did have seven
boards and five assists. Like seeing that Brook Lopez six
points CP three hit a big three pointer in this
ball game. That was good to see. He thought he
might get some minutes with all the guys being out.
As we found out earlier today, Derek Jones Junior is
(08:21):
out for at least six weeks, will be reevaluated in
six weeks with a sprained MCL. In some ways, it's
good news because, honestly, with how nasty that injury looked, yesterday.
I thought he tore something. So he will be back
this season, but Clippers are going to have to hold
it down without him. They obviously don't have Bradley Beal
(08:41):
for the entire season. They still don't have Kawhi Leonard.
He's with them on the road trip, but he hasn't
played yet and the Clippers are now one and two
here on the road. He two days off, then they're
in Orlando coming up on Thursday, Quick time out. Clippers
lose in Philadelphia one to one eight. I'm Adam Oslin,
(09:02):
and you're listening to the Los Angeles Clippers Audio Network.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Streaming on the iHeartRadio wave. This is the Los Angeles
Clippers heard exclusively on the LA Clippers Audio Network.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Clippers lose one ten to one oh eight. They dropped
a four and ten on the season, and per usual,
more predictable than anything else. Right now, everybody's freaking out
in the chat. I can certainly understand why to a degree,
this Clippers team has grossly underperformed and underwhelmed and not
(09:43):
played to their expectations. Now a little bit of context,
they haven't had Kawhi for what the last seven games.
Tough to win without him. They are missing Bradley Beal
for the entire season now DJ is out. It is
just one thing after another with this team, unfortunately, and
they couldn't get it done late. Philadelphia was better. In fact,
(10:06):
the Clippers got outscored sixty one to forty six in
the last twenty one minutes of the ballgame. Maybe something
to do with them being on a back to back
in Philadelphia, having two days off, Clippers not having enough
left in the tank. Either way, they're four and ten.
We'll talk about it on Clippers Stock coming up on
a five to seventy LA Sports Outside of Los Angeles.
(10:28):
We are leaving you until Thursday, where the Clippers are
in Game four of the road trip. They'll be in Orlando.
Tip Off is at four. We'll have your pregame show
starting at three outside of Los Angeles. Talk to you
then in LA. It's Clippers Stock.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Next, welcome in the Clippers Talk, the official postgame show
of the Clippers on the LA Clippers Audio Network. Load
up the phones and make your feelings. No now your
home host for Clippers Talk, It's Adam Oslan.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
And with two three pointers not dropping for James Harden
this time, just like a three pointer didn't drop. Yesterday,
the Clippers dropped to four and ten on the season
as they lose one ten to one oh eight in
Philadelphia to the seventy six ers. Welcome into your postgame show.
I'm at am oslin to eight six six nine eight
seven two five seventy eight sixty six nine eight seven
(11:27):
two five seventy. I'm sure all these people that got
a ton of wind in their jaws, or at least
quick with the fingers on the keyboard and the chat
are gonna call in and say some of the same
stuff they're saying there on air. I'm sure you guys
are gonna call in tonight. I'm at follow adam a
if you want to get to me there it is
Clippers talk, another tough one Clipper Nation, phil like deja vu.
(11:48):
James Harden came up short with a three porter to
tie in Boston yesterday on a good look. This time,
I would say, yes, he might have been fouled on
that right wing three pointer. There's a last two minute
report that comes out in the NBA tomorrow and we
will find out how that call was judged after review.
(12:09):
Will it help No? But James Harden was upset afterwards,
he went towards the officials. Unfortunately, it looked like a
game to me where the Clippers ran out of gas
and the seventy six Ers stepped on the gas pedal
in that final quarter. Philadelphia seventy six Ers did damage
against the Clippers in the final period. They ended up
(12:31):
outscoring them in the fourth quarter thirty seven to twenty five.
Was that, Teya in a game the Clippers lost by two,
They led by ten heading into the fourth. If you
do the math there and they lost this ballgame, it
is really difficult for a squad right now that found
out earlier today they'll be without Derek Jones Junior for
(12:54):
at least six weeks with a sprained mcl I am
happy and praised the basketball gods. It was not torn.
He could have been done for the season with what
I thought was a reckless play by Jaylen Brown yesterday
diving for that loose ball at the end of the
second quarter. But you're still without one of your starters
another one, so Kobe Sanders gets to start performs beautifully.
(13:17):
My player to Watch plays thirty minutes, has seventeen points,
five of eleven, three of seven from the outside thought
he was going to be heading to the free throw
line late in the ballgame. Well they reviewed that and
instead it ended up being Andre Drummond going to the
free throw line on the other end. So instead of
(13:39):
Kobe Sanders having a chance who hit some clutch free
throws late to hit a couple more to tie the
ball game, they end up extending it to a four
point lead. Brutal fourth quarter for the Clippers, who could
not guard Tyre Maxi or Quentin Grimes again. When they
(14:03):
stepped on the gas you could see they had more
left in the tank than the Clippers. You could see
those two are two of the quicker guards in the league.
Tyrese Maxie see leading the league in scoring right now.
He's just had thirty nine and fourteen points in the
fourth quarter. Hit a three pointer to start the fourth
Cam Kirsty travel. They had CP three but toom bogee
(14:26):
Zoo and Cam out there. Bogie gets a NAM one
to put him back up by ten. Drummond hits a three,
his seventh of the season. Apparently he's finally extended his game.
He's got seven threes on the season. They started six
of nine from three in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia. The
shooting going against the Clippers again and at the worst time.
(14:49):
While we have a moment, why don't we pause ten
seconds for station identification? Here on a five seventy LA Sports, this.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
Is LA Clippers Basketball AM five to seventy KLAC Los
Angeles nr HD two Los Angeles an iHeartRadio station.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
So as we go through the fourth quarter, after that
Drummond three pointer, it's the seven point game. Zoo misses
a floater. He missed some easy ones in this game,
and beats the Zubats. I was not happy with this
performance by him, seven of thirteen from the field just
fourteen points. Shouldn't take him thirteenth shots to get fourteen points.
That's just not an efficient game for vitza Zubats edge
(15:26):
combe bucket five point game. Paul George misses over beats
the Zubas. After the Clippers had a miss, Boge gets
a three pointer. They're back up by eight. Bogey to
Zoo for a floater, got that one. They're up by
ten again, re established that ten point lead they had
heading into the fourth. Bogie got called for I don't
(15:47):
know why the foul was on him on Tyrese Maxi
when he got elbowed in the head and was down
on the floor. There were some curious calls, not saying
that's why the Clippers lost the game, but that had
me scratch my head. Quentin Grimes was getting to work
in the fourth got a bucket. Eight point game. Zoom
misses a dunk, thought he was fouled, was irate, doesn't
(16:10):
get the call. Drumming layup. It's ninety one eighty five Clippers.
They're up by six. They call a timeout. Out of
the timeout, Niko Batoum missed a great look at a
three pointer and Maxi hits one on the other end.
It's a three point game. I was hoping the Clippers
would win this one and I'd be able to talk
(16:30):
about this Chris Paul shot because he responded with a
three right after that. They left him open. He knocked
it down. Clippers back up by six. Maxi and one
as he beat Done on a cut to the rim.
Just too fast, too quick.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
It is.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
A four point game. Harden comes back in at the
six fifty two mark. Maxy converts the and one. Is
the three point game. Ninety four to ninety one. Clippers lead.
They got bogie hard and done but Twom and Zubots
out there, but two misses another wide open three pointer.
Coach Lou brought back in. John Collins had another pour
(17:11):
outing as a starter for the most part. Six twenty
seven left, three point game miss by Maxi, Zubots can't
get the rebound. Wawford gets it and it's ninety four
to ninety three. After his putback, Clippers by one. Harden
misses a three, saves it but goes out of bounds.
Maxie misses a three. Zuom miss as a floater, no harm,
(17:33):
no foul. But then in a one point game, Clippers
leading by one, Maxie gets a layup. Sixers up by one,
their first lead since early in the first quarter, where
they had a quick five zero lead in the ball game.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
Before.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
The Clippers looked like they were in complete control throughout
most of the ball game. I mean they might have
controlled the lead for forty six minutes. Harden fouled on
a three pointer by Edgecomb, Clippers down three. He hits
all of them. Kobe Sanders comes in for Bogey, Clippers
back up by two, edge Comb three, Now Clippers down one.
(18:06):
Harden misses a floater underneath the basket. I mean it
literally hit underneath the rim. Tired legs can't get up.
Grimes lay up on the other end, beating his man
off the dribble. Clippers down three and it's one hundred
and ninety seven. It's the law. It holds up again.
Shout out Ralph Lawler, Kobe Sanders then to the rim.
(18:27):
He gets fouled, goes to the line for two hits,
both one point sixers lead. Time out Done gets beat
on an inbounds play. I couldn't see it on TV.
I heard it from Carlow, but Quentin Grimes gets a
dunk out of the time out Done acknowledged. His bad
doesn't happen very often. Done's one of the best defenders
(18:48):
in the league, definitely one of the best for the Clippers.
Harden has a miss, but Zubos cleans it up. Eventually
it's one o two, one oh one Sixers Grimes three.
That is well defended, and they're up by four, one
five to one oh one. I think it was John
Collins who was a little bit off of him, but
it was a deep three, like ridiculous shot. Collins and
(19:12):
one on the other end on an up and under
Moove makes the free throw. Back to one point game.
Maxy deep three, Clippers down four one O eight to
one oh four, Hard and turnover Wawford to Edgecombe who
Kobe Sanders wisely fouls and edge Combe miss both that
(19:33):
could have put the game away right then up six,
but instead it's still a four point game. Collins gets fouled,
goes back to the line down four, Mark hits both
two point game. Maxy misses a three. Done was on him,
well defended, Hard misses a three. Kobe comes flying in.
(19:53):
It's weird seeing a Kobe in Philadelphia again. Shout out rip.
Kobe Bryant comes flying in for a putback, gets fouled
by Drummond, doesn't get to go, but gets fouled by
Andre Drummond a minute at oh seven left. They go
to the review. It was challenged by Philadelphia whisefully. So
(20:14):
why because you can go back and see the cascading
effects or entire sequence of what happened there. So Andre
Drummon the reason he fouled Kobe Sanders. According to the
officials afterwards, this is why they overturned. It was because
he got shoved in the back by It beats the zoobots.
(20:37):
I gotta be honest, there wasn't much there, but they
overturn that into a loose ball foul on Zoo. They're
in the penalty. So instead of this is crazy, instead
of Kobe Sanders having a chance to tie the game
down to with the free throw line, the kol gets
reversed and it's drumming on the other end taking two
(21:02):
free throws and he hit both. Four point game. They
put a second back on the clock, minute oh eight
left offense for defense substitution Bogie in Fordune. Sanders misses
a long three after he and James Harden were trying
to get his man switched on to James. They didn't
let it happen. I think it was Quinton Grimes. Now
(21:28):
Quentin Grimes misses a three edge Combe gets the rebound,
but Maxi loses it to James Harden and Kobe Sanders
gets fouled. With under fifteen seconds left, they're up by four.
They intentionally foul. He hits both. Thirteen point eight seconds left,
one ten to one oh eight. Is Philly's lead done.
(21:53):
Then thinks he has a steal on the inbounds play
to Tyrese Maxe, who gets corralled by him in but
two who initially knocked it out of his hands. The
Clippers challenge that and it gets overturned in their favor.
Clippers ball down by two to oneh eight. Chaotic sequence,
(22:20):
crazy events going on, two huge challenges in this game.
Late well once again. With eleven point seven seconds left,
James Harden first tries to three on the right wing.
(22:41):
Look like he may have been fouled. We'll see tomorrow,
not that it will be of any consequence of the
final score if the ref say they blew it tomorrow.
But he missed that three pointer. Kobe Sanders gets the
offensive rebound for him. James Harden has an another look.
He kind of threw this one up. Missed that too
(23:05):
in the near side corner. Two three pointers to win
the game. Clippers lose one ten to one oh eight. Instead,
we'll take a quick time out. We'll get to your phone.
Calls eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy
eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy. I'm
out of Moslin. That was painful. Second day in a row,
(23:31):
similar fashion, similar type of loss. Clippers led by ten
hitting into the fourth. You thought they were gonna get
this one. They need to get some good health. Maybe
Quis back on Thursday. We'll see I'm out of Moslin.
Then this is Clippers Talk here on m five to seventy,
LA Sports.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Were back to more LA Clippers basketball. Take us.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
It's with you on the iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
App right here on the LA Clippers Audio Network.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Clippers lose by two with two chances to win it
on three pointers missed by James Harden. First one might
have been fouled, second one rushed it in the corner.
They lose one ten, so one eight. In Philadelphia, another
game without Kawhi Leonard Now no DJ, He's out for
at least six weeks. Bradley Beal is out for the
(24:28):
entire season, and the Clippers are four and ten and
reeling this early in the season. But these games matter
the same as games late in the season in the standings.
So brtal tough, especially for James Harden, who he had
seventeen points in the first quarter. He was five of
(24:48):
nine from the field, two of five from the outside.
The last three quarters of the game, James Harden went
two of sixteen from the floor in zero of seven
from three. Now I'm not putting the game on him.
He's the one who gave them a chance to win
this game. He is being asked to do way too much. Unfortunately,
(25:12):
his partner out there and Kawhi Leonard can't stay healthy.
That's the ankle now on the foot. And I don't
even know how James Harden is able to play this
many minutes, like I tonight, it's thirty seven the double
overtime game, it's fifty one, it's forty yesterday. It's just yeah, no,
(25:33):
kidding's going to run out of gas. But you don't
have better options. CP three has looked like a shell
of himself. He has had a hard time getting the
ball into the front court. He did hit a three.
They left him wide open four in this game in
the fourth. That was awesome to see. But CP three,
there's a reason he's been out of the rotation. Have
you watched him try to get the ball into the
(25:54):
front court. It is sad to see somebody at the
end of their career was in their basketball powers. I'm
still hoping. I don't know, he gets some macupuncture whatever,
and he has a stint during this season or stretch
where he plays well. But so far this wasn't exactly Hey,
like we all thought during the off season with how
good he played for San Antonio last year. Hey, James
(26:16):
Harn's out of the game. You got CP three run
the show. It hasn't worked out that way at all.
Kobe Sanders a revelation. That's great to see everybody hating
on Coach Lou won't play the young guys. He's playing
Kobe Sanders clutch time minutes he's starting him. How about
(26:36):
them Apples talking about flipping a narrative? Edward and Grenada Hills,
You're on clipperstock without of malson. What's up Everard?
Speaker 5 (26:46):
Hey, what's up? At him? Totally gutted about the DJJ news.
My favorite player, but.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
I'm gutted game. It also could have been worse. I
thought this was going to be a career altering injury,
and that's what I worried about most, not just the
fact that he could be out for a year. If
he towards ACL mcl I thought, like, he's never gonna
be the same. He's only twenty eight, Like, I can't
have that for dj Luckily it is just a spraining.
(27:12):
It still is an absolute bombshell of news for this
Clippers team that's dealing with so many injuries, but it
could have been worse, and given how the level of
pain that he expressed yesterday, that probably was best case scenario.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
Right.
Speaker 5 (27:29):
Yeah, I'm happy that it's just like six weeks or whatever.
But still, I mean, this is not a time for
someone else to go down on this team. You know, Tonight,
John cons wasn't good enough. Zoo Botch wasn't good enough.
I did say that the Zoo batch is gonna have
to be a twenty five to thirty point a night
guy for us to be successful.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Zoo was not good enough in this game. Zoo was
not good enough.
Speaker 5 (27:50):
And I'm gonna say something else.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
The start of that second quarter where they let go
of the lead for a bit it came back down
to a one point lead for them, was disgusting. They
took like four to three pointers in a jump shot
to start that second quarter, where if you've noticed the rotations,
Visa Zubos comes out earlier in the first to get
(28:12):
back with the backups to start the second quarter because
in theory he should be the focal point. He didn't
touch the basketball I think the first four or five
minutes of that second quarter while they settled for jumpers
and three point shots. Zu didn't have a good game,
but that was ridiculous.
Speaker 5 (28:31):
But I feel like this whole team has been subtly
for threes and I don't like it. I feel like
we need to attack the basket more.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
How many guys do you have that you think can
attack the basket and get a step on defenders on
this Clippers team, I.
Speaker 5 (28:44):
Think I think Sanders done hard and.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
Sanders done in. James Harden all played thirty plus minutes.
Speaker 5 (28:54):
I mean, we're just gonna need them to make baskets
because even if comes even if Kawhi comes back, he's
not going to be the answer to everything. Guys still
got to play defense, got rebound the ball. So I mean,
I just I don't know, Well, Tyleru has a lot
on his play. He's gonna have to figure it out
if he wants to, you know, remain as coach. But
then again, the guy.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
Yeah, it's on, it's on Tylu that once again, he
doesn't have Kawhi Leonard Oh. And also he doesn't have
DJ now Oh, and he doesn't have Bradley Beal for
the entire season. Like people want to point it, coach, great.
Speaker 5 (29:25):
Great, great coaches figure it out.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Though, right, how many coaches have been missing their number
one player more than coach Lou over the next over
the last six years. I'll wait, I'll wait. How many
coaches have been missing their number one guy more than
coach Lou has over the last six years? And don't
tell me he hasn't done much. They won fifty games
last year and Kawhi played thirty seven. Coach Lo doesn't
(29:48):
get any credit for that.
Speaker 5 (29:51):
I mean he does, yeah, but I mean it's also
the players too that we're doing good. So they all.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Sharing it, right, So the players also, you're in the
blame when they're losing games, or just coach Lou.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
It depends.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, this game? How did he lose them
this game?
Speaker 5 (30:14):
All right?
Speaker 1 (30:15):
I appreciate the phone call. I'm trying. I'm trying. I'm trying, Edward,
you got to answer. Okay, great, Okay, So then firing
coach Lou probably not the answer. What is affecting this
team more? What is affecting this team more? Coach Lou's
inability to coach up players or the roster and the
guys who aren't available on this roster right now, What
(30:37):
is the biggest impact to this team. I think there's
a pretty they're old, slow and injured an injured. I
appreciate the phone call Edward. Quick time out here. We'll
hear from coach Lou coming back. The Clippers are four
and ten. It has been rough. Everybody just wants to
criticize coach Lou like I've criticized him in the past
(31:00):
too much, Marcus Morris too much, Reggie Jackson. There have
been plenty of things. I've criticized him with the Visas Zubas,
hasn't got the ball enough, or hasn't played enough, or
haven't closed out games enough. I don't think what's happening
right now is being fixed by firing your head coach.
They're losing close games. That's coaching. Did you see the
(31:22):
inbounds play they had against Boston that got James Harden
a wide open three to tie it just yesterday? Who
do you think drew that up? I can't more Clippers
sock next here on seven LA Sports.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Streaming on the iHeartRadio water This is the Los Angeles
Clippers Hurt exclusively on the LA Clippers Audio Network.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Clippers lose by two two opportunities on three pointers by
James hard and late, couldn't get him to go. They
lose again in Philadelphia. This time they get swept. On
the back to back. They got two days off. They
will be in Orlando on Thursday. Let's hear from coach
Lou post game. I know La Murray was out there
(32:13):
on the beat. Here was Coach Lou post game after
the two point loss in Philo.
Speaker 5 (32:17):
Yeah, we won't know.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
To let me get re evaluated.
Speaker 5 (32:20):
So not quite sure right now.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
I'm not sure we were the first. This is the
game from yesterday. I guess we don't have coach Lou.
Let me look for some quotes on that. We make
sure to have the right audio. I think I did
see him talk on fan Duel TV. I haven't seen
(32:44):
a postgame quote from La Murray. Let me see about
Tomarazarlier Joey Lynn, who had on in the pregame show.
If we have a little bit of Coach Lou, I
would take anything. At this point, when you're four and ten,
you you want to hear from your head coach. It's
(33:04):
never one guy. It's I know, convenient for people to
say this is on the coach. Just fire the coach
and everything changes. As if they've given up on Coach Lou.
That's not what I've seen. They battled back down twenty
four yesterday when they could have packed it in. They
(33:25):
battled against Dallas when they could have packed it in.
This team hasn't quit. They've coming up short. They've ran
out of talent because of bodies that are missing right now. Like,
if you're looking for the biggest reason the Clippers are
losing games and you want to play the blame game,
I guess blame injuries, because that's it. It turns out
(33:49):
it's really hard to win without your best player. And
we've had to say that so many times over the years.
Turns out you're not the same team that you were
projected to be when you're missing your best player. Hopefully
Qui's back on Thursday in Orlando. They need him desperately.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
It's just.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
Bradley Beal. They had big plans for him this season,
and I get why. I get why he could have
done some of that norm Pal stuff. John Collins, who
everybody said, put in the starting lineup, Coach Lou, what
are you doing? Guess what? He's played his worst basketball
this season since he's been in the starting lineup. That
(34:33):
hasn't fixed anything, and then they lose their other point
of attack defender in DJ in a game where Quentin
Grimes and Tyrese Maxi are getting what they want downhill
in the fourth quarter. I'm sorry you want to find
other reasons, but the main reason by far is of
(34:56):
course injuries. Is that the only reason. No, but you
might want to start there before freaking out. Yes, they
got off to a slow start, even with Kawhi. They've
gotten off to slow starts like that plenty of times
and turned it around four and ten. I don't know
(35:20):
they've gotten off to this Slova start in the two,
one to three or Kawhi Leonard Era. Weird seeing Paul
George out there for Philadelphia today on a minute's restriction,
his first game of the season coming against the Clippers.
Like injuries aren't an excuse, they are a reason. It
is a players league. If you don't have your best players,
(35:42):
you're out winning much. I like the way they have
fought and played, more so the last three or four games.
They've looked more recognizable. The problem is they still are
at a talent disadvantage, and that makes it hard to
win games. To spend down the stretch when you're in
close games, when James Harden has done everything and probably
(36:06):
emptied the tank in the first quarter of this one
with seventeen points, We'll take a time out. We'll come back,
We'll close things out. I'm out of Masland. You're listening
to Clippers socke here only five to seven ELI Sports.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
Back to more LA Clippers basketball.
Speaker 4 (36:26):
Take us with you on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Right here on the LA Clippers audio network.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
In Kobe Sanders, we trust that's the positive right now.
Kobe Sanders looks incredible. It looks like they hit on
an NBA role player late in the second round of
the draft, a guy who is helping them right now
in what game three, Game four? For like game two,
(36:56):
Kobe Sanders looks incredible. He looks like a damn veteran
out there. I cannot believe some of the little things
he's doing, with crashing the glass, with not being a
great athlete, playing hard defensively, with fouling a guy on
a breakaway. So they have to take a couple of
(37:17):
free throws in edge comb and he actually missed both
of them late in the game. Heady plays smart player.
He reminds me This is gonna sound crazy of a
six seven TJ McCollum, TJ McConnell, I should say, not CJ,
not a mix of CJ and TJ. This is high praise.
(37:43):
I don't know if he's gonna turn out to be
TJ McConnell. But his hunched over dribble a little bit,
his gait, his mannerisms out there, his lack of athleticism
he makes up for with effort, his headiness, just the
way he dribbles the ball in his shooting form, and
(38:05):
then the smart plays. I'm here for it. If that's
what they got the rest of the season. A guy
who can go out there and make winning plays for you.
That's a positive. He started this game. But none of
you Coach Lou haters will acknowledge that. You all think
if you fire Coach Lou all of a sudden, Kawhi
has never missed another game. DJ's coming back right away,
(38:26):
Bradley Beal's coming back. That's not how anything works. Look
at the real reasons for why they're losing games, being
in a talent disadvantage over and over again, and having
to play James Harden way too many misses to where
they're burning out of gas and there are guys under
performing too. Offseason pickups that we thought would be much better.
(38:47):
Clippers are four and ten. Gotta be better. Defensively, thought
they were better. They only turned the ball over ten times,
they gave up only nine offensive rebounds, so many areas
they cleaned up, and they still lost the ball game.
Don't have no firepower, hopefully quiz back. On Thursday. Clippers
will be in Orlando, tip off at four pregame shows
(39:09):
