Speaker 1 (00:00):
What is going on? Clippers fans, Welcome to season three,
episode thirteen of Clips in Dip. We made it past
the heat wave. Our brains were not functioning well enough
to come together as a collective and talk about the Clippers.
So thanks for rocking with us. I am Chuck Mockler,
joined by Will Updike and Adam Ausland. We got some
(00:20):
fun stuff today. If you're listening, thanks for listening. If
you're watching, thank you for watching. Throughout the full experience.
You can find us at YouTube dot com Slash at
Clippers Podcast. We got a bunch of awesome fan questions
to get to today. We're talking about how this is
James Harden's most leadership filled off season. Then we're gonna
talk to Pick and Roll, But before we get into that,
(00:41):
I think we have some dips to talk about as
well too. Before we get into that. I see we
have all survived the heat wave. Will how are you doing?
And do you have anything you learned in the heat
wave that you'd like to share? Could be about how
to beat the heat, could be about yourself. I feel
like I was on like a spiritual trek in one
hundred degree weather for week.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
In my brain terrible, terrible. I think they're terrible.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Ad A good tip to beat the heat is watch
Michael Man's Heat in a movie theater during the hottest
part of the day, which Charles and I did, and
he was on a highlight on my weekend that day.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Yeah, the Vista Theater is I think it still might
be showing it is showing heat. We watched it from
three to six thirty on Saturday, and again, I can't
think of a better way to beat that. Damn son.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Could stay at work a little bit later, which is
what I did yesterday. Not on purpose, mind you, but
it didn't get me out of the heat.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Adam, how are you? How's your brain? How did you
deal with the heat wave?
Speaker 4 (01:46):
I mean it's probably a little fraud. I had trouble.
I got really thankful when I saw it was going
to be ninety or whatever it was the last couple
of days, and I think that's what I learned. I
am glad that we don't live in a place where
it's like this consistently year round. Sorry, Arizona, We're looking
at you.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Shout out. Shout out to our Arizona listeners and our
buddy Pat who lives there. Yeah. I went to the
Dodgers game on Monday, and it was I think we
got below ninety in this eighth inning, which I love
the boys in blue, but that was maybe one of
the refrigats. They also got their ask.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Kick, did you get like a frozen lemonade or ten
of them?
Speaker 1 (02:27):
I drank three beers.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
That that's great for the heat, yeah, really good for
the dehideration.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
And then I think I drank twelve gallons of water
after I got home. Ummm, all right. We got some
fantastic slipperst questions we got to get into from our listeners.
Thank you for sending these, As always, they're fantastic. We
got a couple of questions kind of about blowing the
team up, which is interesting. I feel like we kind
of dealt with Time's Will's oscillating between blowing up Dike
(02:57):
and it's our year, which I now.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
The thing is, you get the chip and then you
move on to the new era.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
You're skipping to get the chip part.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
No, I'm saying you get the chip and then you
move on to the new era.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
You get the chip and then you dip. You just
get out there.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
You go early doing one year into it. So, David
Hellman asks, if the team disappoints in the first half
of the season, do you expect the front office to
blow it up at the deadline. I think it's maybe
important to contextualize what blow it up means.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Yeah, I was gonna say, so, what is that?
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Is it just trading hardening Kawai because in my head,
that's the only way that blowing this team up, which
would satisfy that definition, which I.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Gotta tell you, man, for a team that still doesn't
control their own draft picks, I don't know how much
you're not getting draft equity for those guys like you're
I mean, you might get some, but not enough to
like rebuild a team that's even that's even close to
where the Clippers are at right now, you know, So,
(04:06):
I I don't know. Like again, I think this is
like this is a retooling period like that they just
there isn't that assets or like I said, a big
thing is the control of your own pick to to
really incentivize any major major change. I don't know where
(04:27):
are you at with this, Adam.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
I'm not saying under no circumstances with the trade Kawhi Leonard,
but I was listening to a Clippers podcast earlier today.
It made me think about how he represents the first major, major,
big time free agent that they got and turning them
into a destination franchise.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Well, I'm not saying that possible.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
I'm just saying, like, what are you getting? You're not like,
you're not that's no, you're not getting Like blow it up,
ammo if I get on Dynamite.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
I I just think the likelihood of them trading Kawhi
Leonard is extremely low. I know everything that happened with
Blake Griffin, and we thought at that time there was
no chance they'd trade him. But I think this is
a little bit different because Kawhi they drafted Blake, Kawhi
chose to come here. I don't know if you can
(05:19):
do that and then bring in other free agents and
not have them think in the back of their mind immediately, oh,
their cutthroat they could trade me at any time. I
don't think they can do it with Kawhi. Honestly, I'm
not saying it's totally out of question, because you never know.
But to Will's point, what do you get, Like the
Godfather offer isn't coming for him anyways? So that makes
(05:42):
it even easier for them to justify why you should
keep him because he represents the first player that shows
the Clippers uh and they became a destination franchise because
of him.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
I do want to contextualize one thing with the Blake
Griffin offer, like or with the Blake Griffin deal, I
think Detroit was in a position where they wanted a
star or like they wanted a name more so than
anyone else in the league. And I think they offered
the Clippers a deal that there's no way in hell
you say no to. But I don't think there was
(06:14):
anyone bidding to anything close right the Pistons were offering
for Blake Griffin, considering you know how nice the draft
picks and everything would be. I don't think anyone was
offering anything close. And I think if you're on the
other end of the line from that deal, I think
a lot of I think you're saying yes, like I
think every most teams will say yes.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
They were opening up a new arena too at the time,
wasn't it Little Caesars just opening up then, So they
had all the reasons to have to bring in somebody
to be a draw.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
The thing with Kawhi Like we're talking about like the
Godfather offer. Like you're like, so his contract does theoretically
make him easier to move if they were to trade
Kawhi Leonard because it's under the max or whatever. But
what team is a Kawhi Leonard away? That would give
us a ton of pit like because what's the hall?
Do you think one first round pick and like a
(07:07):
young guy and like it's not.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
I am probably somebody on a bad contract right with
those two things.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Like pairing him with PJ. Tucker to just have like
this zombie roster where I think the other thing that
people need to take into account is like you can't
just have a bare bones roster and be like, well,
our young guys are gonna get good. You have to
have pieces to help those guys get good, you know,
Like there's no like, the Clippers are middling out right now,
(07:35):
which is better than bottoming out, especially if you're opening
a new arena, But they're not the offer they'd have
to trade both of them. And I don't think there's
a single Clippers fan who would be happy with whatever
return they got, a realistic return. I don't think anyone
would be like I felt good. We got two picks
for Harden and Kawhi two bad contracts, and like a
(07:55):
young guy who might be good, and maybe we have
to get a new head coach because Tyler doesn't want
to deal with this bullshit rightfully.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
So which you just described with a team saying we
can't just have young guys, we have to supplement some
vets around them. I think that's what Houston believe last offseason, Yeah,
which is why they brought in Dylan Brooks and Fred
Van Vliet to find out more about those other guys
if they're actually playing more competitive basketball, because now you
(08:21):
have some solid bets around them. By the way, Houston
is the one team that I think that some people
have reported might have some interest in making a run
at Kawhi Leonard, and you could talk me into it
a little bit, but I still think it's extremely unlikely.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
I think he says no too. I don't think wants
to play in Houston.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
He doesn't have a no trade clause though.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Oh that's right.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
I think the only two guys that do are Lebron
and Bradley Beal. I'm not there may be one other's agent.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
Anxious clip fan basically asked the same thing. They said,
if the team underperforms, would be viable to trade Kawhi
and Harden for assets. Knowing Balmer and given the new arena,
would it be worth the organization losing big names for
a two to three season rebuild. Should we expect a
Teamman and Zoo led team. No, I don't think we
(09:20):
should expect a team Man and Zoo led team. That's
not what they're built for. And I don't mean that disrespectfully.
They're not the star, you know what I mean. And
I don't think Balmer's also a businessman. He's not doing
three years of bullshit at the nicest arena ever built,
Because it would be some bullshit if they traded Kawhi
(09:42):
and James Harden away from this team. If you don't
like the roster, now, imagine what the roster would look
like without Kawhi and James Harden.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
It would be one thing if they had a young
centerpiece type of draft pick, like if they had done
a trade for Scoot Henderson or something last season and
him out that way while still having a couple of
guys next to him that are fan favorites. But I
don't see it either, given the new arena that they
could completely and Balmer has said we're not ever going
(10:12):
to completely bottom out. I tend to believe him, and
like it would take some real extraordinary circumstances for that
to change.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Yeah, it's just not and again we're not. Besides what
Will ascribes to belief es, which that it is our year.
I don't think it is our year. I think anything
can happen. Will.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Would you like to respond?
Speaker 1 (10:40):
The only god I believe in is this year is
Larry O'Brien. But it's just not like, yeah, I don't know.
The roster isn't juicy enough to be like, well, we'd
really be cooking with gas in three years if these
draft picks work out like we don't. Our best vet
is Batoom, who is not probably going to be in
the NBA and Tour three years. Law Murray was posting
(11:04):
some pro Zubos propaganda on Twitter today, which we're all
fans of. Obviously, Zoo has never had two twenty point
games in a row. She wanted to ask you for
thank you for fact checking Law Uh.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
No, I just feel like people have brought up this
stat before and it's like, yeah, okay, you know, like
I I'm not saying this is what law was doing,
But I know, I feel like a lot of people
have just spareed Zoo with this one point, and it's
kind of like okay, like sure.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
The guy who was fifth option, Yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Yeah, Like within context, I just don't see how that
makes sense.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Like, yeah, it's the majority of the time he has
a twenty point game and they still start to forget
about him by the time the next.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Game comes around the first half.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
How many times do you get the same minutes the
next game that he got to get to twenty?
Speaker 1 (11:52):
How many twenty point games do you think he has
next year?
Speaker 2 (11:55):
How many DM last year?
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Uh, let me check.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Twenty that's the predicture for this year? Would right, twenty
twenty point games?
Speaker 1 (12:14):
He had forty? Oh not forty four four? He had
four games from twenty to twenty nine points. I'm taking
the over. I would just take the over next year.
I think it's more than four.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
It's gotta be double digits, or I think this team
might be in some trouble.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Yeah, if he if Zoo, how how many games of
tend to night?
Speaker 3 (12:40):
How many games do we not have one of or
both Kawhi and hard because basically, that's how many twenty
point games you need.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
To Yeah, those graphs will be like, yeah, I like
that idea.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Yeah, Adam, I could see twenty. I mean, I think
it's gonna be hard.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
I'm not with that.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
I would love to see twenty.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
I was kind of kidding just twenty for twenty. I
don't know. Maybe I'll say twelve. I'll say twelve.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Yeah, that's more reasonable.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Probably Adam's poking holes in his own clippership.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
I got thirty second receipts real thirty seconds ago right here.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
If you if he gets over twenty, we're gonna play
the clip of you saying he's not gonna get.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Twenty, never get he'll never buy twenty.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Yeah, I think it'll be I hope it's over ten.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
It comes down to what Will just said. I don't
know how many games are Kawhi and James Harden playing,
especially Kawhi because James Harden can really aid in Zoo
getting to twenty.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Yeah, yeah, I was gonna say, because no, no, no,
Harden does limit things a little bit.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
Yeah, if Harden plays seventy games and Kawhi plays fifty.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Under and twenty twenty point games.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
Yeah, plus playoff right forclud the playoffs?
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Well, and they're gonna win the tournament, right, and I
think they just might ask for extra games just you know,
iron sharpens.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
Iron can't be your year if you don't win the
n season tournament.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Bro not wrong. Also, yeah, we should track zoos scoring
when Kawhi is out this year. We should do that more.
All right, Now we got some random questions clips for show.
Who do you think will be the surprise performer of
the season, William Updyke? Who are you picking surprise performer
(14:38):
of the season to fans or like above their numbers?
Speaker 4 (14:48):
Two casuals?
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Yeah, let's go to casuals. Actually, I think that's a
good like Clippers fans who are maybe like not as
invested because they're not a some do not think they
are a contending team.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
Yeah, but then like Zubos could be the surprise performer
to them.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Sure, yeah, let's go.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
Let's go non starters and well list of starters is
hardened Terrence Man, which seems to be a controversial opinion
some places. Derek Jones, Junior Kwhi, Leonard Meats. Other than
those guys.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
I feel like you should be able to take norm either.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Yeah, that's fair.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
I was gonna say, I think norm is fair if
you well, if you say twenty plus a game from Norman, Okay,
that's surprise performance.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Yeah well yeah, yeah, eighteen plus whatever?
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Yeah, who else is really gonna who else is going
to really really surprise me?
Speaker 4 (15:44):
Jack?
Speaker 2 (15:47):
But too, we're gonna find out he has even more
in the tank than we thought.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
He's a fan. They're clocking the mphs and he's the
fascist guy on the team every game, Adam, who are
you picking? Real? Sticking Nick with Tom.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
I'm gonna go with I'm gonna take a risk here.
I'm gonna go with Mobamba.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
I was gonna pick one of the random centers too.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
Yeah, my guy's not random. He's a surprise performer.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Sure, Okay, what a surprise from Obamba?
Speaker 4 (16:22):
Look like I'm gonna say he's getting eight and five
in a block.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
The blocks would be nice. And this is under a
normal percentage. This isn't anything where he's shooting. So eight
and five that is his career averages seven and five
and a half.
Speaker 4 (16:46):
Yeah, but look at my god, what's his average is
the last four years? Your last three years?
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Yeah? Well so last year, four and four year before
that three and four year before that, seven and four.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
All right, I'll up it a little bit. I'll say
nine and five, nine and.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Five from Mobamba off the bench? Sign me the hell up?
Speaker 4 (17:14):
Andy Shoots? Did I already make a prediction on him
from three? I feel like this happened, I said, I
think I said his career average thirty percent?
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Right, his gravage is thirty six percent.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
But thirty six point what one?
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Damn?
Speaker 1 (17:31):
I would round up if it was thirty six point five?
Speaker 4 (17:33):
All right, I'll say he shoes thirty seven percent.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Yeah, I'm like one and a half attempts a game
or something like that. Because he's kind of a he
could be a pick and pop guy. Yeah, pick and
pop in relation to what Mobamba is.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
Because a lot of people are down, very very down
on Mobomba right now, and I seem to be higher
than most. So I'm gonna I'm gonna pick him as
my guy.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
What else is news? Pacoli? So we got batom Bomba?
Speaker 2 (17:58):
What about Chris don I was?
Speaker 1 (18:01):
I feel like the freaks over at the lob of
the jam the pod have been all over Chris Done
for the last like two years, and I think they're right.
I think he's gonna be very He's gonna surprise people
with what he brings off. I think people kind of
know he's good at defense, like he's a guy where
you kind of go defensive first. I think his offense,
his floater game is really good.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Yeah, but that like box score isn't jumping off the page.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
No, it's gotta be chunky for him to be a
surprise Perfore, it.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
Is like it is kind of interesting though, and it
will be something to monitor. Obviously we've talked a lot
about the backup center position, but like, what is going
on with this guard rotation? I mean you because these
pieces they make sense in like certain regards. You know,
I could see Norm and Chris Dunn together, I could.
(18:49):
I could see that sort of working KPJ and done.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
Maybe.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Uh, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
Like it's just gonna be an It's gonna be an
interesting thing to mind under as this has once again
become an Olive Garden team.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
Because even if you think that Bones Highland doesn't have
a chance on this roster and won't be on the
roster even if you take him.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Out, oh still a lot. I can't play.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
Operating under the assumption that he will not be playing
norm KPJ.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
And Chris Dunn on the floor at once. I don't
think he's going to be successful. I don't.
Speaker 5 (19:28):
We're going to see it, though, are we not going
to see it? We're going to talk are we not
going to see it? We saw John wall Luke, what's it?
Speaker 2 (19:42):
But then like.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
T lu did at some point say it playing guards
was in effect like he did. It wasn't mere culpa
or anything, but he did admit that, you know, he
was trying to get guys minutes.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
He was trying to.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
Make it work, but it couldn't work. I'm hoping that
was a lesson learned about playing too many cards.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
I hope that we have learned it because we do
have a lot of guards and we are going to
talk about kind of some KPJ stuff for the next
I mean, just in terms of how he fits with
maybe the lack of shooting in the pick and roll.
Ryan Snelling with a question, I'm surprised it took him
this long to ask Cutest Clipper update with Paul George
off the team.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Was George the previous reigning cute Clipper.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
I think for Ryan Snelling he may have been I
mean I think.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
I definitely did one year. I don't know if it
was every year, it.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
Was every year.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
I didn't know there was the cutest Clipper update period,
So this is an update to me.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Yeah. Ryan Snelling always asked this, people want to know this.
The answer is, I'm Kauai.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
All the time. But I think he's adorable because of
his personality and everything, and he's good looking.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Yeah, I'll go kai Jones.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
Jones has some model looks had carperate the into it though.
Kai Jones is a good looking guy.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Kai Jones is gonna show up and maybe playing a
game in those Oakley over the top sunglasses. I just
get that vibe, you know the ones I'm talking about
that go the old school Oakleys that they made for
like sprinters. I think kai Jones is gonna play in
those at some point. Will who is your pick? And
Ryan Snelling tweeted us who your pick is? Coward?
Speaker 3 (21:23):
I'm going James Harden, And again it's because of the
whole package, like the outfits. I still think I might
have like a GQ James Harden spread from like I
don't six years ago.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Probably, Yeah, it's hardened for me.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
Good pick. And I also always think about the best
joke from Abbit Elementary, which was Quinta Brunson dressing up
as James Harden for Halloween.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
He's I mean, he's just got an iconic looking like
he is. He is.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Probably he's one of the few who actually like pulls
it off. There's like a lot of you know, kind
of wild wild dressing and the NBA, which I support.
I support all fashion xations, I support yeah, Risk, I
support taking big swings.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
I feel like he's one of the few.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
It's like him and Shay who are like pretty like
really the hit ray is very high.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
They have good stylist. Shout out to him. We're styling them.
Speaker 4 (22:19):
I know it's not his nickname, but he looks more
like a King James than Lebron with the beard.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
He's shorter.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
He's a little stock here that you're saying Lebron is
a fraud king, false king.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
Just like just like Lakers fans spray paint when he
came to town first false King.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
If you really want to trigger uh a fan of
that team, just say I mean, personally, I think he's
the greatest liker of all time. He brought him a
trip during during COVID I've gotten a bottle thrown at
my head saying that before all right that oh wait,
there's one more question from someone named muck Chocolate, who
(23:00):
ask should the Clippers make a move for Robert Williams.
Ryan Windhors tweeted out or I think he just said
this on a show. A guy to watch who is
very tradable is the time Lord, one of the greatest
nicknames in the NBA. Blah blah blah coming off of injury.
He's a guy who's had repeated injury problems. But he
makes thirteen million. They may be willing to part with him,
and he can go to a contender and be a
(23:20):
significant piece if he's healthy. All that last part to
me says he's not going to a contender because I
don't think they'd want to bank on him being healthy.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Thirteen million, will you take PJ.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Tuncker and some in and out, let's do it. Yeah
we have, and now it's like actually tradable, so it's
like we're team reclamation. Let's add another like.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
I'm with it.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
If he's happy, like if he's happy and eventual and yeah,
I mean I like, I think that's a great backup option.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
I think with the injury history right now and already.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
Having to beat the zoobots, you know, a starting position.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Is not in the cards.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
I guess what you'd sell Portland on is peges out
from under this contract after this year, and Robert Williams
is still under contract for an our thirty million next year,
and that would be the only incentive. I could see
him doing the trade. But it's it's not a terrible one.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
I mean yeah, I mean it's better than a guy who.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
Like well, I think it's just yeah. I just wonder
what the offers are. I suppose.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
I wonder if Boston comes back at him because they're losing.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Al Horford right, Oh are they?
Speaker 4 (24:29):
Isn't he retiring? I thought he now crazy?
Speaker 1 (24:32):
He's done? No, I think you're right, not dead. Wait.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
Al Horford's sister debunks retirement rumors ahead of season.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
Could be wrong.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
Adam always bring spot.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
I was on NBA Central instead of Central again.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Yeah, you're like, whoa, this is crazy.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Adam is an uncle on Facebook.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
If we tried for Rob Williams and you might need
some of our cats. I don't know what's going on, man,
It's just bullshit, all right. Thank you for the questions,
especially from muck Choker. That was a really good question.
Is that you yes, absolutely coming someone was trolling you
and took that name, or if it was just you,
just me trolling myself.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
I was worried maybe you have like a superstalker. No,
we're excited for you.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
If it was that, I would not be hired. They're like, well,
what went to your work, didn't see you. I'd be like, woa,
let's gap it that way.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
What if they were just giving you the gifts cash gifts?
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Wait, cash gifts. If I walked into my house and
there was just cash lying there with a note that
said for you with a smiley face, and I texted
the six people who I have access to getting into
my house and they all said that wasn't for me,
I'd be like, okay.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
What if it's like a you wake up and there's
a picture of yourself sleeping, like, oh my god, and
then you look under your pillow. They left some cash
there too. How much cash?
Speaker 2 (26:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
Five hundred bucks yeah, but they took a thousand Hey.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
I don't have a thousand marks to take five hundred
cash and twenties yea, I'd be hyped one hundred dollars bills.
I'm like, what am I gonna do with these?
Speaker 2 (26:21):
I know you can't. You can't really break those at
the liquor store anymore.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
No, I'm gonna go to the taco stand.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
You don't know if wants to watch me sleep. There's
a price.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
If anyone wants to watch me sleep, it's five hundred
bucks cash in twenties. Coming up, we're gonna be talking
James Harden's leadership, a quality that everyone talks about how
great it is with James Harden, but it seems to
be on display even more so right now. But first,
if you're listening on audio, thank you, there is gonna
be an ad break. One of the benefits of watching
us on YouTube at YouTube dot com Jack Clippers Podcast
(26:53):
is you just gonna see our faces during this one
second break and the whole time. So there's audio ads
coming up and they're back talking James Harden.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Three two what all right?
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Welcome back in two clips and did we took your
fabulous questions in this first segment. We're gonna talk a
little bit about James Harden now and it's time to
shake the stigma. I feel like I'm tired of the
hearing the same thing over and over again.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
You know, he quits on franchises, he's a bad teammate, YadA, YadA.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
I've already defended him and this narrative on this show.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
I think the.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Move out of Houston made a lot of sense. I
think the move out of Brooklyn made even more sense.
I think the move out of Philly was imminent and
also kind of made some sense and also made quite
a bit of sense. So you know where I'm at
on this. But it seems like, whether he's conscious of
this or not, James Harden is becoming one of the
best leaders on this squad.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Looking at it and looking at this offseason so far,
you would you agree, Charles.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Yeah, so we've got him. He's been taking guys with
the Rico Hines runs with like literally every young guy
right now, they're all down at ASU doing like a
James Harden mini camp. They're playing softball. Terrence Man was
on the losing team, which I'm not sure how that
affects his standing in the starting Lineup's.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
Tyler's focused on basketball not baseball.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
That's true. The winners are now.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
Yeah, what have you guys been doing? Why are you
so good at this sport that you don't get paid
for you're working.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
On your your exit velo. I think this is like this,
like people have been clamoring during this two one three
era for a leader quote unquote whatever they think that means.
I think Kawi Leonard is a leader in his very
own special way with directly with coworkers he works with.
(28:49):
I think he's a leader. He's not a guy who's
gonna raw ron in public, obviously. I think James Harden
is the like the I think he's filling that gap
that people want it the fact that it's it's just
like every young guy in these things too, you know
what I mean. It's not just like him Terrence or
something like that. It's all of the young guy Mom
was there.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
And you know this isn't new, Like we've heard this
since he started. He was you know for guys who
wanted to post practice. They were working on the pick
and roll. We know how like instrumental he was and
like helping Zoo get acclimated and they could they could
work together. We know that some of the young guards
worked with him before, like and this was when he
came here, you know, you know he could have left
(29:29):
after the season, you know, when things didn't pan out.
He could have left, you know, when Paul George was gone.
So yeah, I think that this is I like your
conclusion though, that people have been sort of clamoring for
this voice for a while, and maybe this is the guy.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
I like what you said earlier. Will His last two
moves are completely defensible. He wants to get away from
an unreliable player and Kyrie Irving. He wants to get
away from a guy who probably lied to him. I
think everybody feels like, yeah, they probably did offer him
that to.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Coach, you threw him under the bus.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
Yeah, Like, there's no way he would have taken less
for the team if there wasn't something else coming in
the next contract, and then it didn't appear for him.
So I some of it is a false narrative regarding
James Harden and some of the heat that he takes.
I like what I'm seeing at a thirty five year
old James Harden, the way he's starting to lead now.
(30:23):
It's just a maturity thing. And if you love where
you work, I think that's very meaningful. I think that
certainly brings out the best in people. He has wanted
to be here in so cal I think for a
while now he is. He took a contract that was
completely team friendly with the one plus one on seventy
million dollars. Nobody thought that was going to happen. We
(30:44):
all thought he'd be here for three more years. I'm
good with it. I like everything we've seen from James
Harden in a Clipper's uniform so far, including this.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
Yeah, the full off season, which I know is something
will you bring up like? That's huge for him and
the team actual off season time. Thanks Darryl Moray for
last year making PJ. Tucker go through the hardest transition
of anybody. He lied to him, bro, But yeah, I
love it.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
I hope you get a terrible eye stream from looking
at a bunch of numbers. You hope you get at
your spreadsheets. I hope you hope you have to wear
two pairs of readers. I hope your iritis flares up. Yeah,
shout out to leader James Harden.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
And now we want to I want to talk about
so we were talking about the pick and roll earlier,
and the Clippers shooting currently as it stands, makes the
pick and roll a little I love.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Can editorial note.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Uh, I love I love that you bring that that
you that you bring this stuff during off season.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
I have to you know, this isn't a criticism. I'm
saying I love it.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
Okay, good, So it gets me hyped, gets me hyped
for the season.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Dude, I need real just to let I need real
basketball so bad, I know. I mean, we only have
theoretical right now.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
So I love it. Lead us in. Sorry, I didn't
mean to interrupt.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
You're fine. I'm just losing it. I love my Dolphins obviously,
but I need I need Clippers basketball back. The Clippers
were top ten in points per possession in the pick
and roll last season. Oh yes, thanks shout out James Harden,
shout out zoo. They were ranked twentieth in pick and
roll frequency, which I think that goes up next year,
(32:29):
would be my guess.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
I wonder where what they were at frequency was during
the thirty one game stretch where they went twenty six
and five. Oh, I wonder. I'm sure there's a way
to do that parameter wise on NBA dot com.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
Yeah, what were they just find the dates and then
look up.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
The Yeah, I'm guessin screen share through this.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Yeah, let's let's if you're on video.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
If you're on video, you don't want to miss this content.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Dude having the that's the worst. But so I think
are gonna go up in frequency, especially if Zoo's gonna
hit one hundred and forty games of twenty points. But
there's like, so the starting five, there's not like shooters
that are exactly you know, like, don't sag off these
(33:19):
guys or we're screwed, right, because if you look at
the starting five, Harden is the best shooter, but he's
running the pick and roll. There's Kawhi, There's Terrence, and
then there's Derek Jones Junior, who's very much TBD on
what his outside if his outside shooting is gonna command
you know, the the don't don't step off him at
(33:40):
all on the you know, off the three point line.
So I think Zoo's decision making is gonna have to
be even more on point next season because I don't
think he's gonna have open guys in the corners because
he can find him off the short role sometimes, but
I don't think it's gonna be that sweet to start
the year. They're gonna make Terrence and Derek Jones prove
(34:01):
that you have to stay on them in the pick
and role. I think so we need James Harden to
be at his absolute best, and we need those guys
to kind of shoot better than they ever have.
Speaker 4 (34:15):
I think Terrence Man just needs to shoot period. If
he shoots, if he doesn't hesitate, if he stays with
that level of confidence we saw in twenty twenty four
was the calendar flip. I think he's gonna be okay
because the numbers say he is a good three point
shooter overall in his career. He just has to take
them and have confidence in his shot.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
Yeah, Derek Jones Junior.
Speaker 4 (34:35):
I'm more concerned about him because he had a lot
stretch during the playoffs and that's not who he has
been throughout his entire career. You can say he's trending
the right way at the right time, considering he's only
twenty seven, and maybe some of that stuff carries over
from last year in the playoffs, but then again, he
was really bad in the NBA Finals. So overall he
shot thirty seven percent in that playoff run, but then
(34:56):
he was bad in the NBA Finals. I don't want
that part to carry over. You know, I don't know.
I don't know who he is yet as a three
point shooter and who he can be. I feel like
we have a better handle on Terrence Man in that area.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
And do you think Terrence is going to be the
we can't tag off him or do you think teams
are going to make improve that?
Speaker 4 (35:13):
Oh? I think they're going to make improve it because
he ended up What if you just look at, you know,
thirty five percent last season, they're going to say, Okay,
that's below the league average. They're probably not looking at
the forty four percent he shot in twenty twenty four
and it's still a low volume overall. So I think
they're going to make improve it.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
And that does also if everyone's sticking, that means zoos
at one on one, which does vode pretty well for
the points per possession stats.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
Cash Well and like at this stage of his career,
how much and how often is hard and able to
create for himself off.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
The driple well, because he's going to have to, you.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
Know, like he's gonna be in a higher scoring Uh,
he's gonna need to be in sort of a higher
scoring scoring type of position than he has been for
the last couple of seasons.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
He did end up as one of the best point
per possession guys in isolation last year, I think he
was the best as a guard.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
Clippers killed a Kawhi was obvious, incredible Niso too.
Speaker 4 (36:16):
I want to say James Harden was near the very
top and points per possession in isolation plays last season.
I don't know the data to back it up currently,
but I swear it's the case, Like I surprised by
it because he.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
Is older now source I swear so it's.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
One point one three points per possession from him in
the regular season in isolation plays. And I'm just trying
to sort it by you know, these guys that have
low volume amount and they end up really high because
they did like two of.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
Them, right, Yeah, you got it for sure. And I'm
also like, we don't really ever see Zoo with the bench,
and it's like, I wonder what the bench pick and
roll maybe looks like, because I feel like Zoo makes
a pick and roll with Chris done a lot easier
than whoever the hell he's gonna be running the pick
and roll with if it's not Zoo, you know what
I mean, Like, I don't know there's some fun stuff,
(37:14):
and I hope we see Kawhi as the screener because
that is something that I feel like is almost like
my white whale. We've seen it a couple of times
and it's been pretty effective. It's just very rare. We
do see it, and again that's where this you want
to Harden, Yeah, and that but that again, that's like,
you know, you get the pick and pop and stuff
like that. So they got to add some wrinkles if
(37:34):
they want to. If it is our year, as some
are saying, we might see some creativity on this this
pick and roll front, which I'm excited for. And we
have the best guy to run it with the starters,
which is James Harden.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
So it looks like of guys who at least had
two hundred or more possessions in an isolation play, James
Harden's at one point one three, as I mentioned, that's
better than Luka Dancic. The one guy I'm five I
think that's better than him was Kawhi Leonard at one
point to zero. I think they both did finish like
top three in this category last season, which is why
(38:09):
when people complain about them going into IO so much
like well, the numbers kind of say they're really damn
good at it, so maybe they should do it.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
There's something to that.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Yes, a guy we haven't talked a bunch about for
I think pretty fair reasons, both on the court and
off the court, is what we mentioned smaller lineups. KPJ.
Kevin Porter Junior is a guy who can shoot. He's
been at the Rico Hines runs. I'm not sure if
he's at ASU. Tilmayer was saying that guys might be
(38:42):
coming in so like maybe maybe hands up with the team.
But he's been like with the team, you know what
I mean, most of his time has been at the one.
He had one season where he played sixty percent of
his time at the two. I think it was his
second year in the league. Every year other than that,
he's like over ninety three percent of his time playing
at the one. If he gets time again. He has
(39:05):
not played in the NBA, and sometime some people need
to maybe temp for their expectations on that.
Speaker 3 (39:12):
Well, it's also just, I mean, this is the role
even if you foresee him really taking off here, the
role is markedly different from what the Rockets. Yeah, from
what he's played before, Like what his role looked like before,
do you Adam, like, even if you're the highest, even
if you're the highest on KPJ, even if you think
(39:34):
that he's going to take Terrence Man's spot, even in
that highest of high scenarios, right, that's a completely different
that's a completely different role still than what he was
doing on the rockets.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
Okay, he's not getting thirty four minutes per night. I
don't see any scenario where that happens. And I would
argue based upon his play, he is a good passer.
Of the backups. He should be playing the one, whether
he's playing next to Chris Dunn or Norman Powell, both
those guys should be playing the two next to KPJ. Honestly,
they should be playing off of him while he does
(40:09):
ISO overly and gets into, you know, a little bit
of his bag maybe too often. Sometimes it gets him
into trouble as a lot of young players too early
on in their career, especially when you're on a bad team.
He averaged i mean six assists per game. Like he
he's a really good passer, and.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
Dunn played thirty percent of his time last year at
the two, so like there, there's that's a small kind
of a small ass backcourt, but.
Speaker 4 (40:34):
Dun can guard up like I'm not concerned about him
playing the two honestly.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
Yeah, that's fair. It'll be interesting because he's again you know,
Norm can't really run the pick and roll, but just
something to monitor.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
I don't want the ball in Norm's hands making the decision.
I don't want the ball in Dunn's hands over KPJ
making the decisions. I think of those three guys, he
should definitely be the one.
Speaker 1 (40:58):
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting. His preseason is going to
have to be real good.
Speaker 4 (41:04):
He's not a two year deal though, you know, like,
is there committed to him somewhat?
Speaker 1 (41:10):
Is it fully guaranteed or is the second year something goofy.
Speaker 2 (41:16):
That's a good question.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
I'm looking it up right now. He's on it's a
player option next year for two and a half million dollars,
So a prove it deal for him, I would say
the previoust of prove it deals. I haven't seen a
two year less than five million dollar contract in a
very long time in the NBA. No disrespect to guys
getting that, but that is the previoust of prove it deals.
(41:40):
I think we can all agree as it should be. Oh,
that's the other part is like the man has not
played NBA basketball in a very long time in the
scheme of these things, so like he's not just hopping
in and running a great pick and roll.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
And what happens if what a lot of people think
is the likely scenario I talk with Lot Murray about
this recently, that he gets suspended to start the season
for thirty games or something. Right then you're trying to
implement him while the season's happening, and his job, you know,
somebody else may have already proven it at that point
that they have earned those minutes. Like it's gonna be
(42:16):
it's gonna be a really difficult thing for anyone that
thinks this is okay, here we go. We got a
fifteen points score off the bench every night, Kevin Porter Junior.
There's so much more that's going into this.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
Yeah, sorry, I didn't want to get Chip muted. That
was like a bunch of ships. I want to get
Chip muted.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
Well, also, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
I think it's just gonna again, it's going to depend
on you know, it's assuming that he is clear to
play play, It's going to depend on him because yeah,
I don't know. His assistants are fine, He's still like
a worse than two to one assisted turnover ratio. He's
not like a super gifted passer.
Speaker 4 (42:55):
Yeah that's fair.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
I mean, I guess and like it.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
Like is he gonna be out of a score first mode?
Speaker 2 (43:00):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (43:00):
Once again a guy who was not in the league
and is on a very cheap deal.
Speaker 2 (43:05):
Approve it deal? Which that can? That can go a lot.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
Of ways, I think in a player's mind, and I
think only one of them would actually be beneficial to
the Clippers.
Speaker 4 (43:16):
There's far more realistic paths of him not being a
big time impactful player for the Clippers season, for the
Clipper season or this year, then there are of him
turning into a six Man of the Year type. They
just are you talk about somebody who's been out of
the game for this long and then he could be
out even longer while the season is starting and guys
(43:40):
are you know, finding their place in the rotation without him.
That's a lot to ask.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
It's a tall ass. And again, I'm sure there's gonna
be some YouTube comments saying we're hating on Kevin Porter Junior.
I haven't even become close to say what I actually
think about Kevin Porter Junior. We're just talking basketball, but
everything we're saying is completely true. You can't just come
in and play in the It's not. I'll tell you
what's ruin this game is aau's people thinking you can
(44:05):
just hop on a team and put up twenty points.
It's not how it works, but it'll be interesting. Anything
else on the pick and roll that you guys wanna interject.
I know people love clips and dip P and.
Speaker 4 (44:20):
R talk spam it.
Speaker 2 (44:22):
Hardened screens for Kawhi.
Speaker 1 (44:25):
Dude, I feel like defensive be like, what the fuck
is this? There's a small guard garden.
Speaker 2 (44:31):
Games d h O Harden Hardened screens for Kawhi.
Speaker 4 (44:36):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
That'd be a good time. I want Zoo to hit
that little lot I was talking about that clip Law posted.
Zoo hits a nice little uh. In his first twenty
point game, he was hitting these like top of the
key jumpers, which I want Zoo to unleash.
Speaker 2 (44:50):
We don't need that, yeah we do.
Speaker 3 (44:53):
So, who's already just enough in his bag? Can we
just let him do the things that he's good at.
Speaker 4 (44:56):
More top of the key jumpers If he doesn't, oh,
for God's sake, he could probably hit every shot from
half court.
Speaker 1 (45:07):
Uh yeah, oh yeah uh if if the shot clock
is under two, fine zoo. I'm making shirts that say
that I don't care where he is on the court.
There's a rumor, and now we're talking about clothes and
dips for those of you just tuning into the most
important part. There's a rumor that the City Edition is
(45:31):
going to be pink and blue. I've been seeing rumbling
about this, which if you remember what the City Edition
court looks like, which I will screen share since Adam
refused to screen share. It has some pink and blue
thanks to the Jonas Wood design here. I could see
(45:54):
this being a pretty sick ass jersey with this shade.
These shades of blue and green, I don't necessary. I
think it connects.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
Gonna I see a lot of brown on the car.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
Is gonna it's gonna act, oh the hardwood bad It's
gonna act as camouflage. So the Clippers are gonna be
wearing are gonna be wearing jerseys will look exactly like this. No,
but I'm excited to see these. I cannot wait to
see the City editions. I'm sure we'll see some leaks
from NBA. I guess NBA Brazil doesn't exist anymore, but
there's always like random uh leaks. So I'm excited. I
(46:29):
feel like they're gonna be sweet. And this court rules.
Speaker 4 (46:32):
There's a blue jersey, there's a white jersey. There's a
red jersey. Yes, this is the city edition. We're saying
that could be the pink one. What's the red one?
Speaker 1 (46:42):
Then?
Speaker 4 (46:43):
Association statement? Statement? Is it the statement that sounds right?
It is a state to go back to red after
all this time?
Speaker 2 (46:52):
Sure truly.
Speaker 1 (46:54):
And I'll tell you what. Back in my day, teams
had two jerseys chuck home and away.
Speaker 4 (47:01):
Yeah, there's a different time.
Speaker 1 (47:03):
Yeah, nineteen twenty three was a vastly different time.
Speaker 4 (47:07):
Outside and find a cloud.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
I will dude, And you know what, back in my day,
there's only two kinds of clouds.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
Do we really want to get into? Uh?
Speaker 4 (47:14):
These clouds are softarah.
Speaker 3 (47:17):
Completely unchecked and unbridled rise of capitalism in the time
since we were children to now.
Speaker 1 (47:22):
Yeah, that's uh, We're doing Clips and Capitalism after this.
That's our other show bill, Chips and Capitalism. All right,
speaking of chips, does anyone have a dip? I have
been the viewers have gotten to watch me eat a
whole mess of chips and dip.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
Did you guys, I'm gonna I'm gonna dip for your ass.
Speaker 4 (47:43):
Aggressive dips?
Speaker 1 (47:44):
Wow, Adam, you do not have.
Speaker 4 (47:48):
One, Guys, I am really, I'm not. I'm not even
doing this just because I'm being lazy. I really have
to crack down on what I'm eating right now. If
I'm gonna make it to ten percent, it is to
lock things it, bro, Seriously, I've only eaten five hundred
and fifty calories so far today, and I'm trying to
(48:09):
definitely stay under eight hundred today.
Speaker 1 (48:11):
That's crazy.
Speaker 4 (48:12):
I got a little bit of fruit and a little
bit of yogurt I can eat later and that's all
I get.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
Yoga counts five hundred and fifty calories, Bro is seven.
Speaker 4 (48:22):
But I am on a lot of zero calorie caffeine.
That's keep me going. Baby.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
What's your body fat at? What was the last Bechdel scan?
Speaker 4 (48:29):
I mean I haven't done one since the first. I'm
guessing I'm around fourteen percent body fat currently, right.
Speaker 1 (48:35):
That's fantastic making progress. Will Adam revealed that he's eaten
five hundred and fifty calories today?
Speaker 2 (48:43):
Why are you doing that?
Speaker 4 (48:46):
Because I was inspired by you and your kettle.
Speaker 3 (48:50):
But I'm like limiting my not like limiting to my
my calories.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
Do it.
Speaker 1 (48:55):
That's sort of level, that's will. What fifty you got?
Speaker 3 (49:00):
I got a flavorful Southwest style salsa.
Speaker 1 (49:05):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (49:06):
It actually actually right before we hopped on here. I
threw it on a couple of quio tortillas with somemarugula
and pounded it down, which is a you know, a
crazy person meal that you eat standing.
Speaker 2 (49:21):
How many calories does that too? Busy at work?
Speaker 1 (49:25):
Adam's salivating, He's like, tell us more about how it tasted.
It made the spellowus. So I went. I went with
a class like last last time we were together. I
went to Arawon. I dropped fifteen dollars. There's a Twitter
guy who reached out. He was like, you should have
got your lavage from an Armenian bakery, and I was like,
full disclosure. I went to Arawon as a bit trust me.
(49:46):
I don't have the money. Again, I'm taking five hundred bucks.
If you sneaking into my house and watch me sleep,
why do you support local Armenian I do support a
lot of local He's like, you're a little busy with
your airwon with my A. I just go out and park,
I just go to hang, you know, so I went
the other way. I'm keeping it real, I'm keeping it safe.
(50:07):
Uh Tostitos just salsa, coca, nothing crazy eating them uh
with uh uh OEM chips original equipment manufactured chips. These
are also Tostito's chips. That's a charm for if you
used to work for a vaporizer company and people were
obsessed with parts o EM. But it's good.
Speaker 2 (50:29):
That's a lot of industries. I think it's only the
vape industry. I like that you thought it was that.
Speaker 1 (50:35):
I mean I never heard it. It was my first office job.
And I would bring this to the barbecue. I've brought
this to many a barbecue. So will would you bring
yours to a barbecue?
Speaker 2 (50:45):
You know what?
Speaker 3 (50:46):
I there's fucking chunks of corn in it, which, again
being Keto, I really hates, and no.
Speaker 2 (50:51):
I would not.
Speaker 1 (50:52):
That's fair, that's adam.
Speaker 2 (50:55):
I'd have to like strain those out.
Speaker 4 (50:56):
I literally brought that dip, the one you're eating to
the last RB we ah No, but yeah, I love
that tip.
Speaker 1 (51:05):
Great tip.
Speaker 3 (51:05):
All right, one of the like one of the surprise
hits for me of this entire segment that we've met
is I think it's just the toasted. I think it's
still the tostitos uh rand, but it's the Plano blanco
originally the case of da. It is incredible, not that
the regular one isn't good, but this is like, who
(51:25):
real good good.
Speaker 1 (51:26):
Ship, oh mass. I think that about wraps it up.
We're gonna be back next week for y'all. There's only
around forty days until the regular season starts.
Speaker 4 (51:38):
Cut calories.
Speaker 1 (51:39):
I'm fucking impressed.
Speaker 2 (51:41):
Is that why you're doing this instead?
Speaker 4 (51:43):
I'm getting before the season starts, h forty days.
Speaker 1 (51:48):
I don't think if you have a goal for the
preseason because the first preseason game is October fifth.
Speaker 4 (51:53):
Yeah, not eat, especially now October twenty third is the cutoff?
Want to get a dexa scaled like the day before?
Speaker 1 (52:02):
Okay? Cool? Can't wait for real basketball. If you're watching again,
thank you will. If people wanted to leave some kind
of review, where could they possibly do that?
Speaker 3 (52:11):
You can review this podcast as many times as you
want over on YouTube dot comments at Clippers Podcast. Just
go ahead leave us to comment. Charles will respond with
something really really nice. Adam won't remember anything mean or
bad that you say about any Clippers players, So go ahead, said,
go go wild in those comments. If you have been
(52:31):
to listen to this show instead of watching it, you
can leave a rating and review over on Spotify or
at Apple Podcasts. But you know, if you don't listen
on either one of those, that's fine. You listen to
the show wherever you get your podcasts. If we're not
somewhere that you like to listen, I guess let us
know about it.
Speaker 2 (52:49):
We'll see look into it. We'll look into it.
Speaker 3 (52:51):
But however you consume this show, you know we appreciate you.
Speaker 2 (52:55):
Thank you for rocking with us through the off season.
Speaker 3 (52:58):
It's been it's felt like a long time without basketball,
but it's gone by quickly.
Speaker 2 (53:03):
I feel like, you know, with good friends, great content.
Speaker 1 (53:07):
I partially agree with last week because of the heat
I was in a slog Adam, you're one positive thing
for Clippers fans to send them for the rest of
their week.
Speaker 4 (53:19):
Wouldn't be so hot if you didn't have that hot
ass gold chain like your Mookie bets.
Speaker 2 (53:24):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (53:27):
I will say it conducts heat a little too well.
It burned my neck walking to target last week.
Speaker 4 (53:33):
By positive thing. Uh, I think the pick and roll
point in talking about that was a good one today, Chuck.
And I'm starting to think, and somebody could put this
in the comment section, what is the worst offense that
James Harden has been in offensive rating wise since he
became you know, a number one, number two option, so
(53:54):
over the last ten or so years, because I'm guessing
every one of those offenses was probably top ten.
Speaker 2 (54:01):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (54:03):
That that speaks to just his greatness and what it
means to have a system. He is a system. Yeah,
And it's true. And more pick and roll the better.
I didn't think they were in the stats board out.
I did not think they spammed it enough last season.
It bothered me. I felt like there was always an
easier way guys run high pick and roll With one
(54:25):
of the best pick and role players in the history
of basketball, nobody's figured out a way to stop it,
even when they had like Ricky Rubio guarding behind him
and all this stuff.
Speaker 1 (54:34):
James Harden.
Speaker 4 (54:35):
Yeah, I mean, come on, you got James Harden. So
maybe maybe I'm doing being too conservative when I say
the Clippers just need to be a top thirteen offense
this season. Maybe there's evidence they can still be a
top ten offense just by having James Harden.
Speaker 1 (54:52):
We'll see. They just gotta spam it. I respect it.
Spam the easiest option. We thank you everyone for hanging out.
We'll be back next week and always, let's go clip
