On one hand, it was a dominant, all-time basketball performance worth appreciating from Nicola Jokic.
On the other hand, it was a result that handed the Clippers their 6th straight loss, and has now raised the alarm bells to an even higher level.

Adam's joined by Carlo Jimenez for immediate postgame reaction, and opens the phone lines to let Clipper Nation voice their thoughts on the 3-8 start to the season, and where the Clippers should go from here.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
The game is done.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Wrap this one up.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
Now the reaction begins. This is Clippers locker room, your
post game look at the LA Clippers on.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
The LA Clippers Audio Network.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Now your pre and postgame host Adam Osley.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
Nikolajokiz drops fifty five and the Clippers dropped their sixth
straight game. They are three and eight through eleven here
in this young season.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Welcome in.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
I'm Adam Oslim. This is your Clippers post game show.
After the Clippers lose one thirty to one sixteen to
the Denver Nuggets. Here it into a dome coming up.
We'll get your complete game box score. We'll take your
phone calls, you know the drill. But first back to
Carlo Jmenez, your radio voice of the Clippers. Well, Carlo,
I don't know if this was so much a lack

(00:50):
of effort, energy, intensity, inspired play or it was just
Nikola Jokic having a special night and once the Clippers
started to cool off from the outside, the Denver Nuggets
poured it on the second half.

Speaker 5 (01:02):
Yeah, this start of the quarter at him was just
unreal from Denver. They knocked down shot after shot. They
were excellent on the defensive end. The Clippers struggled to
get any good looks and what started as a five
point lead, I mean, credit time lout him. He took
an early time out to try to stop the run
after Denver just took a two point lead, but the
seven zero run could not be stopped. Denver, I believe,

(01:23):
went on a twenty two to six run in that
third quarter, and Jokic kept them in the game. Really
in the first half, I mean he had thirty three
points and the Clippers are up five, and then twenty
two in the second half to finish with fifty five.
An impressive night for him, I mean for the Clippers
had him. When you play a team like Denver, you're

(01:45):
gonna need to play excellent. Now, the Nuggets were without
Christian Brown and Cameron Johnson pretty much the entire game,
but this is one where he just got outplayed, I
think by a team that was more skilled, in a
little more cohesion, and look, they had a guy dropped
fifty five, and what are you gonna.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Do the best player in the game, and by not
so humble opinion, it's still Jokic.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
It's still Jokich.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
And now you see just how good his team can
be record wise, with a better supporting cast around him
with the way they retooled with Jamal Murray looking this
good this early in the season. But I mean, they
lost some guys early in this ball game, and it
didn't even matter with Christian Brown and of course Cameron
Johnson leaving the ballgame, and the Denver Nuggets could just

(02:32):
play through Nikola Jokicic. He is the ultimate system, maybe
the ultimate weapon in the modern era of the NBA,
or at least since Lebron James was in his prime.
This is Jokic's league, and you are at his mercy
when he's going like this tonight. And we talked about
it early on, but a lot of the stuff he
was doing wasn't even at the rim. We're talking about
jump shots, step backs, everything.

Speaker 5 (02:55):
He had a step back jumper and I said it
looked like a layup because it just did. I mean,
he went forced to be down the lane through a
floater about twenty feet in the air and it dropped
perfectly through the bottom of the rim.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
What does hurt is something else we brought up. Nikola
Jokic actually hadn't gotten a win when he scored fifty
or more.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Now I believe he's one and three.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
When he scores fifty or more in his career in
the regular season, and it comes against the Clippers, and
if it wasn't rock bottom before, it certainly is now.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Maybe they can find.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
Themselves out on the road coming up for the next
seven because they have to. They have to do something
to regroup here, and this Clippers team will be starting
off against another desperate ball club looking for a win
in Dallas on Friday.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Carlow, That's my.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Theory and I'm sticking to it. This Clippers team, you
mentioned it, maybe just a change of venue. Maybe just
get in the fox hole with your teammates and hope
you can figure this thing out now and become road warriors.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
They got to. I mean, they really don't have another
choice at them because the next seven games is going
to decide a lot in terms of how this season goes.
I know it sounds maybe dramatic, but we're early in
this season and if you want to be a contender
in the West, you got to at least get around
five hundred and probably be better than that. But the
Clippers right now, sitting at three and eight, then they

(04:22):
got to get some of that back. They had that
long road trip we talked about earlier in the broadcast.
But with that season they started three and seven, they
had the Grammy trip back when that was a thing,
and that was really the peak. The road trip was
the peak of what they were able to do that
twenty six and five run.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Didn't they even get a big win in New Orleans
against the Pelicans, something nobody could have predicted.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
They did, So, I mean, maybe the road does bring
this team together, and I think they really don't have
another choice at them. You can't can't go one in
six or two and five on this road trip. You
got to come out at least above five hundred at
four and three.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Clippers at their longest losing streak since they dropped six straight.
That was back in twenty twenty three of November, from
November one to November fourteenth. The final team they lost
to in that streak before going fourteen and three over
the next seventeen would be the Denver Nuggets. We're hoping

(05:20):
we can see something similar here. But it starts Friday
against a desperate Dallas Mavericks team in Dallas. Tip off
at five thirty. Clippers and MAVs. We'll have your pregame
show starting back here at four thirty Carlo Jimenez. Great
call is always save travel on the road.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
You my friend, Adam.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
Now, I will talk to you when I'm in Dallas
and we'll hope the Clippers turn the page on this
season against the Mavericks.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Coming up next their prost game box score and Collin Show.
If you want to get on early eight six six

point game from Nikol Jokich one thirty to one sixteen.

you're listening to the Los Angeles Clippers Audio Network.

This is LA Clippers basketball LA Clippers heard exclusively on
the LA Clippers Audio Network.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Why so serious.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
The joker was?

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Nikola Jokis had fifty five points on eighteen of twenty
three shooting, when five of six from the outside, fourteen
of sixteen from the charity stribe, had twelve boards only
six assists. Of course, when you're doing most of the scoring,
that's going to happen. And his fifty five of the
one thirty that the Denver Nuggets scored would help beat

(06:44):
the Clippers one thirty to one sixteen.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Hear it into a dome.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Just an incredible masterclass, otherworldly performance from Nikolai Jokich like
we've seen over the years. And I was watching him
last night against the Sacramento Kings, and I was worried
that was his warm up performance, because he started looking
real good there and made it look really easy. Looked
easy tonight too, had twenty five of his fifty five in.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
The first quarter.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
The Clippers actually only trailed thirty nine to thirty five
after the first quarter and then had a five point
lead at the half. But I was concerned that a
lot of it was just hot shooting from the Clippers,
where in that second quarter they went five of nine

(07:26):
from three. They were nine of eighteen from three in
the first half, and they started off the third quarter
zero of three from the outside.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Denver was five of five.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
They went on a twenty two to six run, and
the Clippers never got it to within twelve or inside
of twelve points after that. As there were some good
performances individually. Kobe Sanders gave them a spark. He started
three of three but missed his last four shots. All
three of his makes were three pointers. Jordan Miller five

(07:58):
of seven from the outside, dropped twenty two points.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Went right.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
That's what I wanted to see. He has a counter,
a counter move. He's not just going left. Not a
lefty merchant. Jordan Miller went right tonight. Jordan and Kobe
Kobe Sanders in this case, gave them a lift in
the first half. But as Nikola Jogis continued to score

(08:25):
at will, and then the three pointers started falling for
Denver in the second half, that would be the Clippers undoing.
They lose one thirty to one sixteen. Here it into
its home six straight loss, the three and eight through
eleven games this season, and now they head out on
a seven game road trip. Before we take a break,
let's pause ten seconds for station identification. Here on Los

Clippers fall one thirty to one sixteen. Here it into
a dome is Nikoli Jokic has fifty five points and
it's still felt like light work. I don't know why
he came into the back into the game late. That
is the now new into a Dome scoring record. It
was fifty by James Harden last year against Detroit second.
I have a back to back after they lost to
Phoenix the night before. Now it's fifty five. Nikol Jokich

(09:22):
is no. Jokis incredible, incredible player, best passing big man ever,
one of the best passing players period ever and can
also fill it up with these more Clippers postgame coming
up next. I'm at a Masland and you're listening to
the Los Angeles Clippers Audio Network.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Welcome in the Clippers Talk, the official postgame show of
the Clippers on the LA Clippers Audio Network. Loload up
the phones and make your feelings. No now your host
for Clippers Talk. It's Adam Osland.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
Well, the Nuggets had the joker and we were looking
for the dark night. Nowhere to be found as Jokis
dropped fifty five here at into a dome on the Clippers.
It is an arena record, and the Clippers have lost
six straight after losing one thirty one sixteen to Denver.
Welcome into your postgame show. I'm out of Mosland. This

(11:03):
is Clippers Talk. Eight sixty six nine eighty seven two
five seventy eight six six ninety seven two five seventy
is the phone number if you'd like to get on tonight.
Might even have a workaround for you guys on the
YouTube side to hear the phone calls. Nikola Jokic had
twenty five points in the first quarter, most he's ever

(11:23):
scored in a quarter. Starred against Zubots, then Brook Lopez,
even Kobe Sanders had an opportunity when they brought the double.
He found the open man when they didn't step back jumpers,
incredible performance. On one hand, you're distraught because the Clippers

(11:48):
have lost six straight and they're three and eight.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
On the other, I'm like, what did I just witness
from Nikola Jokicic?

Speaker 6 (11:55):
I was.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Incredible greatness.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
But all I want to see is the Clippers w
again and now they head out on the road for
the next seven ball games, starting in Dallas on Friday night.
But they were leading this game at the half. How
many times we said that lately? Even with Jokic having

(12:22):
twenty five in the first quarter, it was only thirty
nine to thirty five. Thirty nine's a big number, but
the Clippers had thirty five points themselves in the first quarter.
James Harden with twelve and off the bench, Kobe Sanders
comes in and hits a three pointer. Jordan Miller hits
a half court shot to end the first quarter, and

(12:45):
they kept momentum into the second quarter. The young guys,
I didn't see it coming, did you. The second quarter
lineup was Kobe Sanders, Bogie, Jordan Miller, batoum and Zubas.
Miller hits then a three on the left wing, a
Bogie three. The Clippers have an eleven zero run as

(13:07):
Denver went almost four minutes scoreless from the end of
the first into the second.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Another Kobe Sanders.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Three off a beautiful pass on the attack down the
left alley from Jordan Miller on a kickout to Kobe
Sanders far side corner, three knocks it down. I mean
he hit back to back three's. I thought he started
three of three from the outside, but my first quarterbox

(13:39):
score says he was one of two. He was at
least three of four to start. Unfortunately he wouldn't make
another shot sometimes his law of diminishing returns. Maybe he
got the jump on Denver. They didn't have either guy
on the scouting report.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
I sure didn't.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
I thought Camp Christy would get in before them. I
was shocked to see them both out there at once.
Coach Lou's trying everything, and it worked for a bit.
The Clippers led sixty eight to sixty three at the half.
They had a ten point lead in the second quarter
after James Harden made a sixty five to fifty five.

(14:21):
I didn't know what I was watching. It was a
bizarro world because Clippers players in new Orange jerseys for
the City edition. We're out there and players we hadn't
seen this year. Were lighting up Denver while Jokic has
thirty three points in the first half, and yet the
Clippers are up by five, sixty eight sixty three. Unfortunately,

(14:46):
the hot shooting would not last.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
It rarely ever does.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
And if the main reason you're leading at the half
is because you're nine to eighteen from the three point line,
well how often are you going to replicate that in
the last twenty four minutes. Instead, it was Denver starting
hot in the third quarter. They had a quick seven
to zero run after dj Cotton nupe from James Harden

(15:14):
out of a timeout. It was seventy all Gordon jumper, Jokic,
free throws, Jokic, floater, Jokic, Jokic, Jokic. But Denver, I believe,
started the third quarter five of five from three and
the Clippers were zero of three. So the three ball
started to fail them and Nikola Jokic continued to hit everything.

(15:40):
All right, I've seen some great performances, I don't like
seeing one at the expense of the Clippers.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Jokic entered the fourth quarter with fifty two, so.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
He had another nineteen points on the third quarter. They
tried everything. It wasn't happening. It was Jokic's night. He
looks better than ever, more dominant than ever, and the
Clippers are in shambles right now. And outside those performances

(16:18):
from Jordan Miller and Kobe Sanders, there are not a
lot of bright spots right now. Bogie looked okay. He
had eleven points. He was a part of that run
with his six points in the first half to get
them up at the half. James Harden really good first
quarter considering they could have been blown out with Jokic

(16:39):
is twenty five in the first quarter. Zubots Okay twelve
points in the first half. I liked he was six
of nine. He was battling, but I needed more in
that third quarter. They didn't feature him enough for my taste.
I thought he was playing really hard. But it did

(17:02):
still feel like once the Clippers got down, they were
fouling a lot. They gave up thirty free throws thirty
five in this ballgame. They hadn't given up thirty free
throws and had thirty personal fouls on them at least
this season. It's like when they tried to defend hard,
they got called for fouls. I ain't blaming the officials

(17:23):
for this game at all. I'm just saying Denver used
their aggressiveness against them. They attacked them. The Nuggets ended
up with fifty four points in the paint. It's not
a huge number Clipper's forty eight. I'm telling you a
lot of Joki's work was outside of the paint or
just mid range work and of course three pointers where
he was five of six. I mean, Clippers still shot

(17:46):
sixteen of thirty seven from three, but they started nine
of eighteen, so they were what seven for their next
nineteen Clippers lose one thirty to one sixteen the three
and eight. I'm stunned this team has gotten off to

(18:12):
a start like this. We learned earlier today Bradley Beal
is out for the season. That can be an emotional
blow for a team, or it can help you rally.
Maybe we saw some of that in the first half.
Can being out on the road bring out the best

(18:33):
in this team more of a sense of urgency or
is it now a lack of talent without Beal? Without Kauhai.
Still fifth straight game, they're zero to five without Kauhi
and it doesn't look like he's playing. At least the
first two games of the road trip, because it sounds
like he'll be evaluated earlier next week. It's not just

(18:56):
a right foot sprain, or it is a right foot sprain,
but we thought it was just a right ankle sprain.
So what's worse than we thought. Everything's worse than we thought.
Right now, Nikole Jokic has fifty five and the Clippers
lose one thirty to one sixteen.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Coming back, we'll get to your phone calls.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
I'm Adam Moslin's and this is Clippers Talk here on
the M five to seventy LA Sports.

Speaker 7 (19:25):
But all right, not insurance.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
This is the Los Angeles Clippers League Clippers heard exclusively
on the LA Clippers Audio Network.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Clippers lose one thirty to one sixteen here and into
a dome. They've lost six straight. They head out on
the road now for seven. Maybe that can be their
save haven, shake them up, change of scenery. I don't
know the three and eight. We're searching for answers. Postgame
coach lu said quote, Our game plan was to make

(19:58):
him score and take away his passing. I didn't think
he would score fifty five. In reference to Nikola Jokicic, yeah,
eighteen of twenty three from the field fifty five twelve
and only six assists, so his assists were way down.
He leaves the league and assists Joldan Miller had twenty

(20:21):
two off the bench. Kobe Sanders looked good his first
real NBA moment, But there's not much else positive to say.
So let's see what the callers have. Raoul and Baldwin Park. Raoul,
you'ren Clippers soft without of Maas And what's up?

Speaker 8 (20:39):
And what's up?

Speaker 6 (20:40):
Adam. I'm just gonna make the short and sweet fire Tylou.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
Nothing else, Raoul, Do you have any specifics that you
just hang up?

Speaker 7 (20:54):
All right?

Speaker 4 (20:55):
Mike in La Raoul short on explanation and and but
you know, if you want to be over simplistic tonight,
I get it.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
Everybody's frustrated.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
If you think Tyler is the reason that Jokic scored
fifty five and not that Jokic is just the best
player in the world.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
I don't know what to tell you. Mike Floor's yours.

Speaker 6 (21:20):
I think firing Tyler would accomplish probably nothing or not much.
I think, you know, this team just sort of is
what it is. It's not you know, it might get better.
It's not what we thought it was going to be
in the off season.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
You know, Uh, Mike, I think I think you just
made a great point. I think it's going to get better.
Is it ever going to reach the highs that we
thought this group could is the question?

Speaker 6 (21:51):
I know, absolutely not. I think I feel confident that
it won't. And you know, that's that's fine. I mean,
you know, in the off season, you know, just trying
to keep a little perspective here, you know, in the
off seat, you go back to the off season. You know,
last year we had a team that tremendously overachieved. We

(22:12):
didn't really have any good avenues for improving the team.
It's not like we have, you know, a million draft
picks just sitting around that we can trade, you know,
we had. You know, we're trying to you know, preserve flexibility,
cats flexibility for next year, the year after, you know,
whatever it is.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
That is exactly what you know.

Speaker 6 (22:35):
They took some calculated risks. No, well, I think I
don't remember if it's this year or the year. Maybe
it's both.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
They can have a possible max slot twenty twenty six,
they could have a possible two and twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
Continue, Okay, Yeah, So I mean, you know they're trying
to you know, preserve that, and you know they you know,
made rational to sit Laurn freakent rational decisions.

Speaker 8 (23:03):
You know.

Speaker 6 (23:03):
Yeah, I mean the Norman Powell you know trade looks
really bad right now. And you know, I love Norm,
Don't get me wrong, I love Norm.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
Uh, they weren't going to pay Norm that next contract.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
He's gonna get.

Speaker 6 (23:18):
They were and.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
And you know what's gonna happen the same the same media, Mike,
that the same media that all of a sudden knows
who Norman Powell is when last season I'm trying to
get them to bring a little fervor so that he
could be an all star. Now all of a sudden
they're like the Norman Powell experts the media. But he

(23:44):
gets that next contract and doesn't perform at that level,
they'll be right back to killing him or forgetting about him.
And like, I love Norm, but I think it's a
rational decision not to want to, hey, guy a big
contract who's thirty two, because they want that cap space

(24:05):
for higher level superstars that are mystery boxes right now
in twenty twenty six or twenty twenty seven, what else, Mike.

Speaker 6 (24:13):
I agree. I mean, they're just you know, there wasn't
a lot of you know, there weren't you know, there
wasn't a lot of tools available in the toolbox to
get better. And you know they did. They did a
good job all at all, you know, a very good job.
And it just, you know, so far hasn't worked out
and doesn't look like it's gonna work out exactly as
you know we thought. But you know, I'm just really

(24:37):
hoping we can keep the above five hundred street alive
for somebody who you know, has been attending games since
the sports arena days, that you know that that streak
means a lot.

Speaker 4 (24:49):
You want to see them get to fifteen straight winning seasons.

Speaker 6 (24:53):
That's what youran exactly.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
I got you, Mike. I appreciate the phone call.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
And Mike is a regular here on Clippers Talk. Demetrius
in Manhattan Beach, Demetrius here on Clipper Stock without a
Malls And what's.

Speaker 8 (25:05):
Up, Adam. It's been it's been a long time. I've
been listening to you guys on the radio. I've been
reluctant to come on. I hadn't spoke to you since
last year in the playoffs. It feels like Danny Manny
Clippers here. Let me just get straight into it and
dive straight into it. It's going to start from the top,

(25:28):
and then it will trickle down from the bottom. Lauren's frank,
it's going to start with him that it will start
with the coaching, and it will start with the players.
But basically, the Clippers just don't have the personnel. I'm
just gonna be honest with you. Are they bringing they.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
Got a ton of the same personnel they had last
year that won fifty games.

Speaker 8 (25:50):
Well, I will say this, the personnel that they had
last year and the personnel like the last caller just
made it real simple. He said, the expect patients wasn't
that high last year, so the darts wasn't on them.
The darts is on him this year. And you're seeing
the wearing tear, and you're seeing the elite players and
you're seeing the regular players. And so what I'm saying

(26:13):
to you, Adam at this point the personnel, you know,
without Kawhi Leonard, you got another year old James Harden.
You got Chris Paul down there looking at his teammates
and wondering why he can't get in, you got Bogie,
you got all these players. Now they are playing the
younger players. I don't think you fired Tylu. I mean,

(26:34):
you know it goes way deeper than him. You got
the All Star weekend coming in. I mean, you know,
give me a break. These Clipper flans have been so
loyal to this team. It's really sad. And so you know,
my oh, what were you?

Speaker 2 (26:51):
What do you want to see them do?

Speaker 8 (26:52):
To me? Drius, I would what I want to see
them do is you know before our Star break, Lawrence
Frank get you know at the work. You got Bradley Beal,
who hasn't did anything in nine years. I mean, seriously,
you know, go go. We got the receipts. You know,
we keep receiving.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
You can say he hasn't done anything in nine years.
Like the last two years he averaged eighteen points while
shooting fifty percent from the floor and forty percent from
the outside. And he's out for the entire season.

Speaker 8 (27:20):
Now, that is correct, And that's my point that I'm making.
And so you know, you got what you got from
in Phoenix. I mean he came here, he didn't fit in.
He was trying to fit in the last few games
I mean the point that I'm making at him. And
like I said, men, you keep receipts. I love Zubox.
I love the whole team. Like I say, you got

(27:42):
Brook Lopez. He's not really a post up guy. He
shoot threes. And with the transition of these teams playing
much faster who you got back there on the mids.
You know, these these teams are flying, and so with
the personnel that we have, the older roster that we
have out, I expect Frank to get the work on

(28:04):
the phone. You got Denver down there, looking Denver, you
want to have a sef.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
You want to have a selloff.

Speaker 8 (28:10):
I listen, go get Anthony Davis. They want to get
rid of me package up.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Okay, okay, you know.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
You want let me say you want Anthony Davis. So
you're talking about getting younger and this team is too old.
You want Anthony Davis for for what you want to
give away Zubos for him he makes three times.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
More than.

Speaker 9 (28:35):
You both.

Speaker 8 (28:36):
No, listen, I love Zubos. He's very reliable.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
Just tell me how Anthony Davis is the solution here.
Just tell me that.

Speaker 8 (28:44):
Well, I don't, Well, he's what I ain't saying to you.
Is that I'm asking you, as someone that's been the
spokesman for the Clippers, like you know, for years, what
do they do at this point of Adam? I mean,
given the severity of this situation, given that they're three
and eight, one game in front of the Pelicans, I mean,

(29:07):
what do you do? I mean, you have to make
tough decisions. I love Zubox.

Speaker 6 (29:12):
You know that.

Speaker 8 (29:12):
Me and you stood up for Zubox all year.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Tough decisions and stupid decisions are two different things.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
I'm sorry to me interesting, giving away your best young
player for a guy who's five years older and extremely
injury prone and make sixty million compared to Zubos's twenty
million doesn't seem like a great.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Move to me.

Speaker 8 (29:34):
I'm not saying. I'm not saying giveaway this. Someone caller,
one of the sports analysts brought this up today. They
the one brought it up, and I said, oh, okay,
you know, how would Kawhi and add and ad look
on the defensive end? And I say, oh wow, maybe
maybe not. I don't know, but I agree with you.
I am a Zubox fan. Me and you both stood up.

(29:57):
But at this point, Adam, we do with Kawhi Leonard's
been injured. The personnel was there. We're going on a
seven seven game road trip. We three and eight. Okay, uh,
you know, James Harden has given us as much as
he can give us. I love the fact that Tyleru

(30:17):
is mixing the players, bringing in the young players. I
love what he's doing. Hey, maybe maybe we'll you know,
the young players with Kawhi get back and the rotation
get a little bit better and sharpen the rotation. Maybe
that'll be the answer. But listen, you know what the
answer is.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
You know what the answer is. They get Kawhi Leonard back.
That's what they need.

Speaker 8 (30:41):
Well, he's averaged in his in the games that he's
now we'll say this now out of which it just
can be, you know, encouraging for the Clippers fans. Now,
in the games that he's won, they's won, he's lost,
these average eighteen and the games he won, he averaged
thirty point two. So when he does have ridged thirty
points per game, they three and zero. And so that's

(31:04):
encouraging again. And so listen, me and you on the
same page. I love you know, I've always loved this Roston,
but at this point. You know, we got the All
Star here in the LA I mean, come on, the
Clippers got to give him more. Yeah, I'm venting a
little bit, and I haven't called in in about a year.
But me and you're on the same page. I loved

(31:25):
Zubat Adam and he was the space. The floor was
a little bit better last year. You know, he had
a lot of space.

Speaker 6 (31:31):
The work.

Speaker 8 (31:32):
I mean he was he was.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
Thirty one minutes against the best player in the world.
Like Zoo is the least of my issues with this
ball club the least. He hasn't played great. Yeah, I
don't think he's played horrible either. He just hasn't played
to the standard that we are holding him to yet.
But there's so many issues going on with this team.
I'm not so worried about a Visa Zubos, especially enough

(31:58):
to trade him for Anthony Davis, who makes forty million
more dollars and plays less. Uh, that's just and is
five years older. That's that's a non starter for me.
So I know that wasn't your idea, Demetrius, but I'm
just saying I know what was out there. As Zach
Lowe was basically going through just throwing s at the
wall trade possibilities the other day and talking about where

(32:19):
could Anthony Davis end up if the Mavericks have a selloff.
I don't think that's the direction the Clippers will go.
We shall see. I appreciate the phone call, Demetrius's good
to hear from you calling on Friday again, my friend.

Speaker 8 (32:30):
Okay, yes, sir, and Joker is one in three when
he scores fifty points. I just want to throw that.

Speaker 7 (32:38):
Out to you.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
I know it.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
That's why people are mad at coach Loo for saying
we want him to score more than pass and it's
like because he was zero and three when he scored
fifty or more, like you have to make him more
one dimensional. Unfortunately, he's just so good tonight with fifty
five Clippers lose one thirty to one sixteen. We'll take
a quick time out. We'll get back to your phone calls.

(33:00):
Eight six six ninety eighty seven two five seventy eight
six six ninety eight seven two five seventy is the
phone number. I'm out of Mosland and you're listening to
day five to seventy LA Sports.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
This is the Los Angeles Clippers. Clippers heard exclusively on
the La Clippers Audio Network.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
Clippers lose one thirty to one sixteen at home, sixth
straight loss, this time to Jokic, who has fifty five
points the new into a Dome record. Clippers head out
on the road on Friday for seven, starting in Dallas.
Maybe that's why people are bringing up Anthony Davis. I
know they're likely to have a sell off, but I

(33:46):
don't think paying Anthony Davis sixty million dollars.

Speaker 6 (33:51):
A year.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
At his age.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
I I don't know if that's in the Clippers plants
eight six six ninety seven to two five seventy. Let's
go to Edward in Granada Hills.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Edward, what's up here on clipperstock?

Speaker 7 (34:07):
Hey, I don't you know? Disappointing loss man tonight. You
know I expected it though, because Edward, like I said, are.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
You the John Collins sayder talked before?

Speaker 7 (34:19):
I'm not the John Collins hold that way? Yeah, you
know me, Clip you know Clipper Edward? Yes, of course
you know me. But no, I'm not a John Collins hater.
I'm just a criticizer because.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
Okay, well, I'm just saying to you were the one
guy who zigged when others zagged that were saying, get
him into the starting lineup. What's coach lou doing? Why
isn't John Collins starting well? His last two games in
the starting lineup have been his worst two games so
far as a Clipper. He was one of six now tonight.

Speaker 7 (34:50):
Now I've never now Now, I'm not saying that John
Collins wasn't something interesting to bring into the Clippers. I
didn't see enough of him on Atlanta or Utah. I
don't I don't watch any of those seams. I just
watched the Clippers, so I don't know enough about him.
I just thought he was a good enough player to
bring us something to help us. But he's been averaging
twelve points five rebounds. That is absolutely not good enough,

(35:15):
while Norman Powell is over there setting records and making
us feel horrible.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
Yeah, except I have a long memory, and I'm tired
of hearing about the Norman Powell stuff because I took
calls about this late in last season when Kawhi came
back and Norman was in and out of the lineup
and he didn't look right. And then in the playoff
series against Denver, Norm didn't play well, and everybody seemed
to be done with Norman Clipper Nation, and now they're
completely flip flopping.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Why do we trade Norm? I remember I got.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
A long memory y'all were hating on Norm after that
series against.

Speaker 6 (35:51):
Well.

Speaker 7 (35:51):
My whole thing is, I feel like Lawrence Frank. He
had a good offseason. You know, I was very critical
of him. He had a good off season, so he
kin He kind of quieted me. Now, but now that
the guys are not panning out, I just feel like
he's gambling on all the wrong guys and he has
to go as well as kylseason.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
But because the guys aren't performing, you're now blaming Lawrence Frank.
You don't think there's any responsibility or accountability for the
actual players.

Speaker 7 (36:22):
Well, I mean, well yes, because you you you gamble
on guys that are not panning out, Like how do
you not see past the bell injury? Like you have
to go more in depth with these guys, like I remember, they.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
Should he was going to fracture his hips. They should
have the.

Speaker 7 (36:40):
Mark Williams with the Mark Williams trade. They knew he
was injured, So I didn't go through right.

Speaker 4 (36:45):
He fractured his hip out there on the court. It
wasn't fractured he wasn't damaged goods with a bad hip
when they got him. He fractured it on the court
against the Suns last Saturday night. You can see the play.

Speaker 7 (36:59):
And here and here's the thing. Adam, No, no, no, no.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
No, no, no no no, are you going to acknowledge
that far you're gonna acknowledge Edward?

Speaker 6 (37:06):
Edward?

Speaker 2 (37:07):
Edward, Edward Edward?

Speaker 4 (37:09):
Are you going to acknowledge that he hurt his hip
on the court. So this isn't some situation where they
didn't do a screening process and they missed it. He
got he got hurt as a clipper. How could they
have predicted this list?

Speaker 7 (37:25):
Okay, fractured him. I understand. I understand that they took
a risk on a very injury prone player, a.

Speaker 4 (37:33):
Risk for five million dollars. It's five million dollars. Everybody
is taking that fire. Everybody is taking that fire.

Speaker 7 (37:41):
No wait, Adam, that five million dollars could have been
used for a way better guy.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
But wait, whoo who who?

Speaker 7 (37:47):
Who? Who?

Speaker 2 (37:50):
Okay, exactly exactly, Edward. I appreciate the phone.

Speaker 4 (37:55):
I got a lot of people on hold. Okay, Edward,
you got thirty seconds ago.

Speaker 7 (38:01):
Laurence Frank said, that he wants to bring back bal
on a on.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
A hit on a bal has a player option. You're missing,
You're missing the details.

Speaker 4 (38:13):
Beal has a player option. It is not the Clippers choice. So, Edward,
you're coming across as a casual tonight. I love you,
but you're kind of spewing some misinformation. Let's go to
Jose and downy Jose, you're on Clipper stock.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (38:28):
What's up? At him?

Speaker 8 (38:29):
That was?

Speaker 9 (38:30):
That was brutal, man, that was brutal.

Speaker 4 (38:31):
Right now, I know, I'm just trying to actually give
facts to things and be accurate. It's like, he says
he's gonna bring back bal it's Beal's choice. He's on
a player option.

Speaker 9 (38:41):
Yeah, it's his option.

Speaker 8 (38:42):
But I mean, no matter.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
Who would they get for five billion. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (38:46):
I don't know who the free agents are. It's like,
this was a very helpful phone call, Edward. I'm sorry, Jose, no,
go ahead, it's sorry.

Speaker 9 (38:53):
No matter how people think he might have played six
million dollars compared to the fifty million dollars that he
was getting paid, it's I would take that gamble any day.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
That's a pretty low risk. Five million dollars.

Speaker 9 (39:06):
I agree, same thing, The same thing we I felt
about Westbrook, same thing I felt about John Wall. They
are very low risk. Who knows, you know, But I
will ask this Adam. Uh. But going back to the
Anthony Davis thing, I don't think that's the right movie then, uh,
you know, why get desperate in that in that way
and go make another movee like that? But being that,

(39:30):
you do have a great point that he very high
injury prone getting paid that much, and we're saying that's
not a good move. At what point do we say
the same thing about Kawhi because he's not playing all
those games with us.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
He's already on the team. What do you do? What's
his what's Kawhi's value?

Speaker 9 (39:52):
Yeah, okay, so you don't have to make.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
That is already on the team. You've already made that decision.

Speaker 6 (39:59):
You.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
I don't have to bring in Anthony Davis too.

Speaker 9 (40:03):
Yeah, right right, No, And I agree with that, no
Anthony Davis. But I just want to that's kind of
I want to say that out loud because a lot
of people thinking, oh, keep stacking on, keep stacking on.

Speaker 8 (40:13):
You can't, you can't.

Speaker 9 (40:14):
You already have something injuring prone on your team.

Speaker 8 (40:16):
There's nothing you can do about it.

Speaker 9 (40:17):
I'm glad you're able to bring up what value is
it going to have in the trade market. I mean
I would if he plays good, and he plays a
lot of games in this first half, when it comes
to the to the trade deadline and we're still not
doing all that well, then I hope they might look
into that. If it's going to turn into that. You know,
if we're not doing well and he's playing great, then

(40:38):
we're gonna have to try to sell as high as
his stock can be possible.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
Like everything should be on the table, Jose. Everything should
be on the table when you start off this slow,
and if things continue to go down this road, then yes,
then you have to consider a sell off. I appreciate
the phone call. I have to take a quick time out.
Love your Jose eight six, six, ninety seventy. I met
them all after the Clippers lose one thirty to one sixteen.
Here it into a dome to Nikola Jokis who had

(41:04):
fifty five and the Denver Nuggets.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
This is Clippers stock on a five seventy LA Sports.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
This is the Los Angeles Clippers Clippers heard exclusively on
the LA Clippers Audio Network.

Speaker 4 (41:22):
Clippers lose one thirty to one sixteen.

Speaker 2 (41:24):
Hear it into a dome.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
Nikola Jokic has fifty five. Clippers have lost six straight.
They're three and eight. The sky is falling. This is
Skuy's falling radio here on Clippers Talk. Let's go to
Eli and Willier. Eli, you're on Clipper stock without MOUs
and what's up Phillip gaming?

Speaker 2 (41:41):
I can here?

Speaker 10 (41:43):
Look Okay, okay, First of all, I just want to say, man,
credit to Jordan Miller, like he actually did really well
this game, and honestly, he did so well, like considering
the I think it was last year when they faced
Denver at at Denver at their place, he didn't do
too well and he kind of lost his confidence and
that game when he lost his part of the rotation.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
But great, Ali, that is a great point.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
I do think it was a game against Denver he
got ripped going left by Russell Westbrook and I felt
like he was never the same after that. So him
having this game against Denver this year, playing this well
with twenty two points, that could be meaningful for.

Speaker 10 (42:18):
Sure, super promising. So that is very spot to look at.
But I guess games are My main question, just a
start one, like, if you're in L. Frank's shoes right now,
how many games would you look at or like a
sample site to see of when to make big moves
for this team, whether it's trades or fire sales. How
many more games do you need to see from this

(42:39):
team and to make those decisions or what moves.

Speaker 8 (42:42):
You would make.

Speaker 2 (42:44):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (42:44):
Twenty five games word eleven. Now we got a road
trip seven games. I when's Kawhi coming back?

Speaker 9 (42:53):
We don't know.

Speaker 4 (42:55):
It could be earlier next week. But how do they
look when Kawhi is back? Is there's still something here
to this group? It's really perplexing that they have a
better roster in many ways the last season and they're
playing this poorly. So I would I would evaluate evaluate
around twenty five games, but again, UH, it may be difficult.

Speaker 6 (43:19):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
We'll see what you get back for some of these guys,
should it come to that.

Speaker 1 (43:23):
Eli.

Speaker 4 (43:24):
I appreciate the phone call last one we got here,
Rick leaving the game, Rick, what's up here on clipperstock?

Speaker 7 (43:32):
There's a going Atamus one.

Speaker 3 (43:34):
Good to hear you kind of stand pat with the
norm talk. That was really one of my biggest points
last year, everybody kind of turn on hands. Was good
to see you the fan and see out on that brother.

Speaker 8 (43:43):
That's really good to see.

Speaker 9 (43:45):
Man.

Speaker 4 (43:45):
I'm a fan of I'm a fan of Norman Pale
and the way people turned on him at the end
of last season and now are saying we shouldn't have
traded norm when everybody wanted John Collins and they celebrated
that trade so much, and now they're like, that didn't happen.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
I got to keep it a buck. As the kids say,
I'm not I'm not hearing that. I remember.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
One hundred percent, and being a second year member of
like this well probably of it too. I circled that
game when we played in Miami, and I had to
stand up for him when he came in and always
will cheer for him, and and I still kind of
watch this stats here and there too.

Speaker 6 (44:21):
Good.

Speaker 8 (44:22):
I wanta see la guys, So I'm gonna cheer for
him no matter what.

Speaker 3 (44:25):
But the biggest thing that I just want to ask
you too, is I just felt like today, honestly, like I.

Speaker 8 (44:30):
Left positive positive wise, because the last.

Speaker 3 (44:32):
Few games, I felt like the energy was being stuck
out of that building and like just the team chemistry
hasn't been there, and you being so close to the team, like,
are you seeing what I'm seeing? Like I'm seeing Chris
Paul not even warm up. It's kind of more of
a coach right now. He's not even getting in there. Like,
is there like a bad chemistry thing going on right
now that they're not sinking up.

Speaker 8 (44:51):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (44:52):
I don't know, Rick. I appreciate the phone call. I'm sorry,
we're gonna get out at the top of the hour.
But when a team is three and eight, you start
questioning everything and maybe there is a bad mix and
guys aren't communicating, and guys aren't talking like this should be,
and guys have their heads down and it's a body
language thing. And I hope guys get engaged on this

(45:15):
road trip, get close, getting the foxhole, US against the
world mentality, Clippers versus everybody.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
They're gonna need it.

Speaker 4 (45:21):
Seven games on the roads starting in Dallas on Friday,
tip off at five thirty.

Speaker 2 (45:25):
Pregame show. It's four to thirty before you get out
of here.

Speaker 4 (45:27):
I do want to think the Clippers organization. Ralph Lawler,
Brian Stemen, no Ego, Carlo Jimenez on the call, Daniel
West our producer back in the bank, big brother Jake
Warner here at into a domer head engineer. I'm Adamleson.
Talk to you guys on Friday. Clippers Talk is over,
but it's going on your feed right after the show.

Speaker 1 (45:45):
Now, if you miss the show, you can follow it
wherever you podcast.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
I listen on the iHeartRadio app. Make us a pre set.

Speaker 3 (45:51):
