'Get The Led Out' Explores The Incredible History Of The Rock Band Led Zeppelin!

Hi, this is Carol Miller. Welcome to our get the
Letout calendar. On August eighteenth, nineteen sixty nine, the Rock
Pile Club in Toronto was packed both inside and out.
Two thousand fans attended led Zeppelin's early show at eight pm.
Three thousand more listened outside waiting for the eleven thirty show.
Some fans thought about climbing in through a second floor window,

and others actually climbed in. Hole Out of Love had
never been performed in Canada, and led Zeppelin kept it
that way more or less. On August nineteenth, nineteen sixty eight,

Led Zeppelin got together for their second rehearsal. They left
the basement in London behind where they had had their
first rehearsal. Conveniently, they saved on room rental fees too
this time. Because Jimmy Page owned the boat house where
they played, overlooking the River Thames. Anybody with an earshot
of the village Pangborn got to hear Jimmy's New York

Birds lineup in the movie Becoming led Zeppelin. Jimmy denies
there were any noise complaints. August twentieth is Robert Plant's birthday,

and today he is seventy seven. Robert spent his twenty
first and twenty second birthdays performing on stage with Zeppelin
in America, first in Schenectady, New York, and then in
Oklahoma City. Alison Crouse played twice with Robert the Birthday
Boy fourteen years apart. Most recently, Robert's son Logan, helped

a crowd serenade his dad in his mid seventies.

On August twenty first, nineteen seventy one, led Zeppelin was

on stage at the La Forum with a pair of
weekend shows to perform there. The newest Zeppelin songs were
unfamiliar to the audience, especially on the first night, so
the crowd couldn't really know they were listening to alternate lyrics.
In Black Daw on August twenty second, nineteen sixty nine,

Zeppelin played the Great Outdoor Amphitheater in Dannya, Florida, as
their Friday and Saturday night headliner. Led Zeppelin manager Peter
Grant had also booked the Jeff Beck Group there one
month earlier. They all followed such past performers as The
Rascals and the vanilla fudge. Tickets cost four dollars in
advance or five dollars at the gate either way. Admission
