Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, this is Carol Miller. Welcome to our get the
Leadout calendar thirty five years ago. On November tenth, nineteen ninety,
it was whole Out of ZEP Weekend on American Music
Television MTV. Viewers who tuned in that day and the
next got to see and hear some unreleased live Zeppelin
management turned over previously unseen footage from ZEP shows in

(00:21):
Seattle seventy seven and Nebworth seventy nine, neither had been
broadcast on TV before. A rare Danish TV appearance also premiered.
Led Zeppelin's first two music videos premiered over the weekend,
including one for travelin Riverside Blues. The song was new
to CD, having just been included on the box set.

(00:42):
Jimmy Page explains the recording's origins. Traveling Overside blooms week
Let's been recorded for for DVC many of the events.
On November eleventh, nineteen seventy one, led Zeppelin kicked off
a surprise year on tour of the UK. On opening night,
they play at Newcastle City Hall. They were playing in

(01:02):
town for the second time that year. Zeppelin's previous UK
tour had included a stop in March at Newcastle's Mayfair Ballroom.
Then they premiered songs destined to be released in a
matter of months. This time, Zeppelin repeated their new songs
during the week their fourth album arrived in shops. It
didn't matter much to fans that the album's exterior artwork

(01:23):
did not reference led Zeppelin at all, or that the
album had no actual title. Here's what John Paul Jones remembers.
I think we're just going through all these stupid titles
that nothing. That's how we think. Why don't we just
put it out? Who needs the title? On November twelfth,
two thousand and seven, Led Zeppelin made their entire back

(01:43):
catalog available in digital stores for the first time. Each
of their nine studio albums and individual songs from them
became available for purchase via the iTunes store. A new
compilation released that same day was Mothership. The surviving members
of Led Zeppelin had personally selected essential tracks from their
studio albums. The result amounted to more than two and

(02:05):
a quarter hours. A deluxe physical edition of Mothership contains
not just the two CDs, but also a DVD of
live performances. It's been out of stock for a long
time at Rhino's official store, it might be time to
update and to re release it. On November thirteenth, nineteen

(02:30):
seventy one, Led Zeppelin performed in Scotland for the first
time in more than a year. Instead of returning to Edinburgh,
they found themselves at Caird Hall in Dundee with a
sold out crowd of twenty three hundred. That was the
third consecutive night playing shows in the UK. They were
about to get two days of rest before resuming in England.
Then they would have three more shows than one night off,

(02:53):
followed by five straight nights. They played acoustic sets on
that tour, which might sound relaxing, but it wasn't necessary
saily relaxing for John Paul Jones. I mean there was
still work for me because I had to play bass
pedals as well and sing, you know, like everybody who's
just sit down when and I'd have three things to
set up, get Mike's in the right place, and change

(03:13):
instruments a dozen times. On November fourteenth, two thousand and seven,
the three surviving members of Led Zeppelin were originally supposed
to be within two weeks of their reunion show at
O two Arena, in London, but Jimmy Page had a
gardening accident in late October and the show was postponed
by a month. November fourteenth was an important deadline for

(03:33):
ticket holders who were unable to attend the show in December.
They had two weeks from the time of the postponement
announcement on November first until November fourteenth, either to change
their travel plans or to apply for a full refund.
On November fifteenth, anty tickets made available as a result
of refunds were offered to randomly selected ticket applicants. Jimmy

(03:56):
Page fully recuperated in time for the December show, which
to this date, Zeppelin's last. This is Carol Miller. Thanks

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
