As you would expect, the coaching staff has made these
guys out to be the Philadelphia Eagles, and I'm looking
at their roster and wonder how many of those guys
would make the too deep at Nebraska. And maybe this
defensive end, uh, this Juco defensive end might get on
the field in third down situations, but top to bottom,
the personnel is just not there.

For Houston Christian Yes sce Seawan Edwards probably the guy
to watch them to their running back. He's two hundred
rushing yards per game and you know they're they're running
it for about two thirty games. So that is probably
the matchup to watch because you have to expect Nebraska
will come out very base on defense, and can their

base defense, you know, shut down what appears on paper
at least to be a good running attack. I mean,
because they have obviously not been great against stopping the
run or a year ago, I mean they ail been
defending the national champions Ohio State to just one rushing
first down, so we know that is the one part
of team that took a step back, and this will
be at least a game where a team is going

to run it at them, and you know that will
be a good test just to get the work in
before Michigan comes into town next week.

Yeah, the key is going to be do they have
the lineman that maybe Cincinnati had, which is a big
twelve team. Do they have the lineman that can consistently
for sixty minutes push Nebraska's guys off the line of
scrimmage four yards?

Yeah? And they're not going to in that sense. And
I think for Nebraska it's can they come out focused,
get those quick three and outs, win the early downs.
I mean last week againstz Achron, Nebraska did give up
nearly four yards per rush on fifteen rushing plays on
first down. So the early rush defense was was just

okay last week. It needs to be better moving forward,
you know, in terms of winning down one, because you
know that in a big ten game, if you give
up four yards on first down, you know you could
be in a lot of trouble on them. They were
able to not make that a big deal last week
in Zachron, but that continues to be to me, the
biggest question with this team here through two weeks.

Yeah, Now, how hard is it for these guys? And
I know they're saying the right things. And Dylan Royal
is probably a little more mature than most guys his
age because his words are very prophetic, and that is
you just can't really worry about the other team. You
got to worry about your guys. But how hard is
it for them not to look at Michigan, which is
the name coming in here in a week.

Yeah, I think it's hard. But like last year, Northern
Iowa was a good example. They didn't come out strong
against Northern Iowa and they won the game thirty eight three,
but it was twenty four to three pretty late in
that game before a couple late ones are tagged on
there to make it thirty eight three. And Northern Iowa
did have some success and they came out executing. That's
what you obviously don't want here on Saturday in an

SCS game. You don't want them to have success kind
of pushing around, get their tempo going early. But it
is a challenge because everyone understands the situation here and
it's eleven am game and you know how the crowds are.
I mean, my guess is you want to have near
as many concession line problem though.

For this one, not unless they're serving Bloody Mary's and screwdrivers.
Probably not. But look, this is a program that's under development.
It's only twelve years old. Their stadium isn't even as
large as Seacrest Field, and that means they're not in
this league. And the idea is if you go out
there and mess around, then what happens is you get injured.

And I think the real fear that Matt Rule will
have is that if our guys are not really dialed
in and focused and look look at these guys like
this is a Big ten opponent and this game really matters,
then you're going to be lackadaisical. You're going to be nonchalant,
and that's when you get injured with non contact plays.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Yeah, you've got to play it to the standard that
you want to play at. And I think the starters
want to get their working. I mean they you know,
last week was fun for everybody. I mean, just to
put up those kinds of numbers do that. If they
could do that again, yeah, that'd be outstanding. They haven't
been able to do that in a long time in

Nebraska where they've had back to back games where they've
just kind of completely blown somebody out and everybody got
in and everybody still put up big numbers. Dylan Royola
right now, for example, he's on a pace to basically
break every quarterback single season record if he if he
plays like this, I mean he's going to break the
touch The school record for touchdown passes in the year
