the home opener, you could have bought one to watch practice.
You didn't have to because you're a very big influential
member of the news media. But what was your impression
of how the practice went?

Yeah, honestly, guys, it was twenty bucks I think for
a fan to go, and that's about what the spring
game costs. You get more out of this probably than
going to a spring game, just being able to see
the real ones on ones, the live work, the live players,
nothing was held back. So yeah, it was an outstanding
look of Matt rules team as far as what they

did between seven on seven inside run one on ones
then obviously be eleven on eleven work, but the playmakers
on offense first and foremost. The receivers. Dan Key was out.
He's been out last few days as a minor just
soft tissue fall camp thing. They didn't really say specifically,
but nothing major that said, though the other receiver vers

Quinn Clark, jan Iron Bonner. I mean that that group
with Dylan Ryola had some impressive moments and that was
probably what really jumped out. I thought the other running
backs after Emma Johnson, Mackay Nelson and Isaiah Mosy, you know,
had some moments as well in practice, so that there's
a lot there. You could see the offensive line too,

and some of the improvements the competition. Pritchett was at
left tackle for Hosco, was a right tackle with the ones,
and then Tyler Knack was with the twos in Gunnar Gatula.
But that's a battle those tackle positions of those four
players right now, and that's another one of those ones.
I think that will be worth watching. The special teams

they made every field goal Canan and the ball really booms.
Office kick. The new kicker they had Kyle Canan and
we got to see the new punter as well. Uh
Archie Miller out of Australia. You talk about a guy
that can do a lot of things. We were watching
him punt it with his left foot his right foot.

He's going to be a real weapon.

And he's a rugby style kicker. He runs. It's sort
of like a happy Gilmore. He runs up to the
ball and then kicks it. Archie Wilson. Archie Wilson, which
is good to know because special teams has been shaky
in the last few years. So shadow is Turner Gill
used to say, and he's not the only one. Practice
is great, but nobody really knows for sure until the

bullets fly, which is a game against a team not
wearing your colors, a guy that you don't share a
locker room with. You've seen enough practices to know the
difference between what can be and what is in your view.
How far along is the offense, because this is a
big year for that offense.

I think it is pretty far along, mainly with Dylan
Rayola his maturation in this thing, the offensive line being
veteran led they return it receiver plus what they've invested,
and then you've got a capable running back and Emma
Johnson with some backups that are going to come up
the ranks here. Then you have Dana though Dana as
the X factor. It's going to be better. I mean,

it has to be better. Dana Holgerson is as good
of an offensive mind as Nebraska has had in several
years on this campus. I mean, Tim Beck I'd put
in that category as a great play caller in recent years,
but they just haven't had somebody with the swagger, the persona,
the track record of a Dana Holgerson with quarterbacks of
play calling, and he's got that Kiel Schwartz hero with

them coaching the receivers. I mean, there's just a lot
there that's going to make this unit better and it
starts with Dana Holgerson and the players that he has
to work with.
