Speaker 1 (00:00):
Sports briefly Huskar buzz EDESI, but Sean Callahan live and
like on here's general. Well, SHAWNA.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
One thing about losses is it gets people to reevaluate.
And at this point, what reevaluation can Nebraska do? They
can't bring in new people to play on the offensive line,
and they can't change their scheme. You can't be changing
your scheme the fourth of the way or third of
the way through the season. So with that, what's next?

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Yeah, I think you know you have to just look
at the line of scrimmage in this game. I mean,
Michigan's players produced thirty six pressures across the board. I
mean some of those are multiple pressures on the same play.
They had seven sacks. Nebraska, on the flip side, only
produced six pressures and had one sack. The Wolverines rush
for nearly three hundred in Nebraska finished with around one

(00:47):
hundred rushing yards when you take away the sack. So
you're just not going to win when the line of
scrimmage is like that, And the three point loss is
a little misleading just because of the hail Mary and
the penalty they got late that kind of gave them points.
So yeah, the line of scrimmage, especially the tackle. But
I mean, Dylan played out standing. Without Dylan, it'd be

(01:08):
hard to know where nebrask could have been in that
game because some of the throws that he made kept
them alive. But it's not a healthy diet to win,
you know, in the Big Ten. And you know, I
don't know if they'll see edge players at the level
of what they saw. Michigan was really really good up front,
and I think a lot of people just sait really,

(01:28):
I mean, every one of those guys is a four
and five star edge and you know, you've got a
guy at the right tackle who's had multiple knee injuries
and developing left tackle who, if you're being real, is
probably not projected to be a starting left tackle a
Nebraska when they recruit him.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, that'd be gun a good tune, I'll i'd you preach.
It is obviously a big disappointment. Clearly, if he's only
playing six naps in a ball game against Michigan, they
don't think he can do the job. And there was
a false start in there. But if he could actually
do a better job of handling their outside guys, he'd
have been out there for more than six snaps, So
this is a major bar. He did though well, but
Gary was only out there for six I think it

(02:06):
was I think the false start said okay, we kind
of depend on I was watching that specifically, all right, there.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Was an off side on Fall. It was a bizarre play.
I mean, the Michigan guy jumped into the neutral zone,
but then he jumped and they called it. They ended
up calling it on Michigan. It was a weird deal.
I mean, yes, he jumped, but the Michigan guy jumped
too at the same before he did it.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
He just didn't make He didn't make contact, and that
that allowed in the The interpretation was since he didn't
make contact, he was in the neutral zone. But then
the false start on Pritchet. But uh, even with the
false start, if he could have done a better job
than the other left tackles, he'd have been out there
for more than six I think. So, yeah, so that's
not a good deal. The other question really involves tackling

(02:53):
in the defensive secondary. Now we know these guys can
run with people, and we know these guys are pretty
good on the ball, but boy, oh boy, Marshall had
a couple of just disastrous plays. So you are right
on the second long touchdown run was as if he'd
never played the position before. What's going on with the
defensive back? Can these guys tackle or what do we

(03:13):
know about them?

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Well, they were missing Marquise Bauford Malcolm Harts with injury,
and I do think that was notable. But you're right,
Michigan created a lot of you know, one on one
situations where you had to get off a block and
you had to make a play and they were in
position and missed on you know, two or three key ones,
particularly late. I mean Michigan converted before the fourth quarter.

(03:38):
Michigan had only converted one third down the whole game.
A lot of their home runs were first down, second
down runs, but then they got three in a row,
and I think you're talking about those moments there where
they had guys in position and came up short. Markus
Bauford also only played twenty two snaps in this game.

(03:58):
You know, I don't know if he's battling something or not,
but Rex Guthrie was out there a ton Andrew Marshall,
you know, actually played less snaps and than Guthrie did. So, yeah,
the back end missed some key moments, there's no question.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Okay, Sean. Thanks, we'll hear from the coach today, Shawn's
