Speaker 1 (00:00):
If you were to go out and about across the
fruited plain and ask andy standard issue Republican to name
the most prominent Democrat in the country, who do you
think would come up first? Aoc Bernie, Jasmine Crockett, or
maybe Mandami the Kami, the jew hater, likely to be
the next mayor of New York City. So this is
the new Democrat, angry, contemptible liberal elite, lacking so much

(00:24):
faith in the American people they've fed fears by promising
more handouts, which is a short list for today. If
you know how to play the system, us working folks
will pay for your house, your car, your food, your clothes,
your cell phone, cable TV, healthcare, daycare for your little kid,
college for the big one. So what's left? Do all
Democrats think this way? No? But I had to go

(00:46):
all the way to San Francisco to find an elected
one that not only doesn't embrace all of that, is
actually doing stuff that looks downright Republican. Remember this name,
Daniel Lurie. He is the freshman mayor of San Francisco,
which about a year ago was the worst city on earth.

(01:07):
The only thing right about the place then was the weather.
And the views of San Francisco Bay. Everything else in
the crapper homelessness crisis level, pollution dreadful, the worst decaying downtown,
mass migration out. Crime got so bad even Nancy Pelosi's
house was broken into and her husband assaulted by a

(01:29):
guy with a balpeen hammer. The mayor a pathetic dei
hire by the people London. Breed was bewildered. Her approval
ratings rivaled those of Bay Area residents, not seen since
the forty nine ers traded Joe Montana. Five other Democrats
challenged her. Lurie set her home by thirteen percentage points

(01:52):
no buyer's remorse. Poll of nine hundred and fifty one
registered voters, he has a seventy five percent approval rating,
almost a complete inversion of Breed's ratings one year ago. Now,
how did that happen? Remember, he's an elected Democrat, and
elected Democrats don't typically fix problems, They just make him bigger.

(02:12):
Lurie is a forty eight year old scion of the
Levi Strauss Blue Jeans company. His stepfather is Strauss's great
grand nephew. Got wet politically while in college, working the
Iowa Caucuses for moderate Democrat Bill Bradley. What Bradley, the
former NBA star, lacked in personality, he made up for
with keen problem solving skills and a lot of brain power.

(02:36):
Even Bob Kerrey was smitten with Bradley that night. In
two thousand, Luriy and the Bradley Army didn't get enough
islands to trudge across the snow to the Walkey VFW
for Sarah Lee Coffee Cake. Al Gore won all but
four counties and sixty three percent of the vote. Though
that dreamer was dead, the dream for Lurie was very
much alive. That's the guy I want to be, he

(02:58):
said to himself. Went back to California, started a nonprofit
that leveraged government NGOs and the private sector to combat
poverty and homelessness. By the time Luriy left the job,
it raised and distributed five hundred million dollars. From there,
he led the Super Bowl host committee negotiated twenty five
percent of the game's San Francisco profits to be donated

(03:22):
to charity, and now every city does that. In the
mayoral campaign, luri kept it simple, Hire me and I'll
clean the streets. Unhook the cops to arrest lawbreakers, find
someplace other than corners downtown for homeless people, which will
bring business back. In other words, run the place like
a business. Sound familiar, It's working. He has muscled reforms

(03:45):
to streamline housing approvals, cutting red tape. He's converting all
of those COVID empty downtown buildings into affordable housing, not
homeless affordable. You gotta have a job to live there.
Has put deadlines on contractor to go get the jobs
done on time and budget. Scooped up the homeless their tents,
feces and needles and dropped them off elsewhere. In just

(04:09):
six months, Luriy has literally stopped the out migration, crime
and punishment. Will hire four hundred and twenty five new
police officers, sheriff's deputies, and nine to eleven dispatchers. Got
this thing called rebuilding the ranks done, which will right
size city hall personnel and save a ton on overtime.

(04:29):
And get this, he's reviewing every nonprofit contract. Says to
keep it, you got to prove per proof of performance.
That is downright trumpion. He's only been at this six months,
which usually qualifies as a political honeymoon. But if he
keeps it up, Luriy might just kick AOC Bernie and
Jasmine out of the Democratic bid.
