The trust train left the station years ago. The government,
the courts, the church, the news media, journalism, they've all
blown it. We don't trust them as far as we
could toss them into Potomac River, the Sistine Chapel, or

that morning newspaper, the lands and the bushes. So what
are we to make of these quite startling revelations from
Tulsea Gabbard, the quite capable but quite political Director of
National Intelligence. Oh you don't think so? Okay? The government
lost me over the Pentagon papers, top secret Defense Department
memos that made it clear we weren't going to win

the Vietnam War. But let's keep sending our boys over
there to die until we can think of a way
to cover our rear ends. Politically, church lost me over
the sex scandals. Journalism lost me over the last twenty years.
What's this situation? Gabbard has released files and memos from
the FBI CIA, and that makes it pretty clear. Following

the twenty sixteen election, President Barack Obama with his CIA
director John Brennan, is FBI Chief James Comy and DNI
director James Clapper hatching a case that Trump's election was
a fraud because Russian President Vladimir Putin interfered with Trump's help.
They then went looking for anything to back all of

that up. Start with the infamous Steele dossier, Remember that one.
It was a Clinton campaign bought and paid for fictitious
account of how Trump and Putin conspired together. Remember up
to then, Obama's FBI had surveiled the Trump campaign by
making up stuff about his foreign business deals. They went

to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court FAISA to get a warrant.
The FEISI court came to life after nine to eleven,
originally to tract terrorists. I guess to Democrats, Trump qualifies.
And they kept doing it even after he was elected.
First duly elected president to be treated like a criminal
by our own government since Andrew Jackson. But this Obama

Brennan Clapper Comy get together was outrageous. They ignored standard procedures,
excluded thirteen of the seventeen government intelligence agencies that surely
would have been skeptical. They leaked it to the national
media and then blamed the leaks for influencing the narrative.
They stamped it Russia collusion and then classified it so

nobody else could see it. But The Washington Post in
the New York Times at the time reported from government
sources they had high confidence that Russia had colluded with
Trump to win the election. Nothing about how Hillary Clinton
bypassed campaigning in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin Democrat hand to hand,

instead hanging out with Jen Wiers and Hollywood celebrities. Did
President Obama and his Trump hating cabal break the law? Well, yeah,
the memos are pretty clear. It's US Federal Statute eighteen
Code one one, which makes unlawful lying under oath and
creating a false intelligence report. Each could do seven years

and pay a two hundred and fifty thousand dollars fine.
Not like government officials, never due time. Since seventeen eighty nine,
over five hundred federal government employees or elected officials have
been convicted of crimes. Of course, the Democrats today say
this is all huha, baseless stuff, baseless, We'll given this story.

Baseless is something with which Democrats are very familiar. Congressman
Jim Hines, Democrat of Michigan, calls it all a lie. Well,
He's right about that. The bigger question to me is
does anybody care? Other than Fox News in the New
York Post, this story is pretty much confined to the
Trump loving wing of the national media body. Could it

get legs, Sure if the President appoints a special prosecutor
and the Department of Justice convenes a grand jury followed
by indictments. Until then, not one Democrat I predict we'll
admit that any of this is beyond pandering to Trump.
I'm not sure how many of us really care. Could
it be treason, sure? Could it be seditioned, Sure, looks

like it. But a fair chunk of the country will say, look,
Trump is back, He'll get his eight years, no harm,
no foul, and we're used to it. Trust us. The
government will say, we'll get to the bottom of it.
