Total global military spending rose by more than nine percent
last year, the largest annual increase since the end of
the Cold War. That according to a group which tracks
international conflicts. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently encouraged
NATO allies to up their spending even more.

The events of the last few years, a full scale
ground war in the heart of Europe is a reminder
that hard power is still necessary as a deterrent. And
so we do want to leave here with an understanding
to every single one of the members Committee and fulfilling
a promise to reach up to five percent of spending.

The US raised military spending by nearly six percent last year,
but President Trump is proposing a twelve percent hike in
