'I Got it Wrong': One Journalist Comes Clean on Tariffs

Andrew Ross Sorkin of CNBC in The New York Times
tells Newsmax he and most of Wall Street wrongly freaked
out when Trump first announced tariffs on dozens of countries.

I got it wrong. When he first made his pronouncement,
the tariff rates that he was talking about were super high.
And to the President's credit, he actually looked at what
was happening with the bond market and he said, I'm
going to take some time. I'm going to negotiate country
by country, and he's been doing that.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
He notes that Trump's more methodical approach to the tariffs
has eased those initial concerns. Stock market has set twelve
