President Trump as signed an executive order making English the
official language of the United States. It means government agencies
no longer have to provide materials in multiple languages. Toad
Dubois with the group US English says this makes common sense.

It has always been considered our de facto common language.
It's the global language, as the most spoken language in
the world, and there's very little controversy about the fact
that the sooner and earlier in their lives immigrants can
learn English, the better of off they are.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Proficiency in English is already required for US citizenship, but
