The Federal Trade Commission is investigating eight companies for offering
so called surveillance pricing, which uses consumer data to set
prices for individuals. Kirkknutson at CyberGuide dot com says Walmart
is even rolling out digital price tags.

These electronic devices are small, battery powered screens that can
wirelessly jack up or reduce prices of items on the
store shelves in an instant.

Walmart says they aren't using the tags for dynamic pricing,
but the FTC chair says they want to ensure companies
