What's Trending:
In today’s episode, we laugh about this week's dad joke, talk about Giving Tuesday, and unpack Amazon’s new “Amazon Now” delivery service that’s basically teleportation. We also get into the new fines for showing up at the airport without a Real ID, celebrate National Mutt Day, and run through the latest in sports.

Second Date Update:
Jamie and Eli met on Grindr, grabbed tacos and margaritas in Oakland, and immediately clicked. Between the musical theater banter and shared Coco tears, Jamie found Eli sweet, funny, and disarmingly honest. Now Jamie wants to know: was the connection as mutual as it felt?

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning. I don't know what else to say.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:03):
How are you? Producer? Tailor's here who got yelled at
yesterday because you have not made provisions for securing your
real idea and you're mad about it. Yeah, what did
we read this morning? It's not going to be forty
five dollars every time you want to.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Fly, yep, if you don't have your real idea or
your passport.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
And here's the danger. The danger that I read is
if you don't do it ahead of time, and then
you get to the airport and you're like, I'll just
pay my forty five bucks and get this handled. They
could deny you if your ID doesn't check out some
for some reason. Oh no, So you could get there
with all your stuff, pay your forty five bucks and
there could be a snaffoo in the system.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Oh goodness, Well, make sure to bring your passport.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
At least I'm trying to tell her not to mess
with the DMV. You don't listen to me. I know
anybody who's trying to mess with the DMV will tell
you don't mess with the DMV anyway. How are you?

Speaker 3 (00:51):
I'm good?

Speaker 2 (00:51):
How are you?

Speaker 1 (00:52):
You know what I'm doing all right. Yesterday was freezing.
Yes I went home and there was a request to
make turkey tortilla soup with the last the leftovers.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yum.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
So it's here. We're gonna test drive it. It's a
little spicy, but it was good last night.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I'm excited.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
I was really arrogant about it yesterday. I tried to
stay humble. It was hard.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Is that good?

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I'm sure? Well, I'll have to taste test it today
and be the real judge.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
This is me yesterday in the kitchen. I think this
is my best work. He says, every time hang out
with us while you're waking up, we appreciate you. Start
one on one three. We were talking about this yesterday,
but it bears repeating because everybody's getting away for the holidays.
Maybe this is the year you finally meet your significant
other's family and it's making you anxious. Here are some
pro tips on how to win the family over, and frankly,

(01:40):
you can use these even if you've been with your
family for years. They might work. A couple of these
things are not easy because it basically says be your
authentic self, but not that authentic. You gotta read the
number one, read the room it says, right, I got
producer Taylor with me, by the way, she's helping me
out behind the scenes quite a bit. Hello. You can
meet her officially Tay Love with two E's on Instagram.

(02:02):
But you said something funny to me off the air,
you said, and we'll get into it in just a second.
I said, have you ever met your boyfriend's parents, you know,
when she's dating or whatever, And she was like, yeah,
they don't typically like me. I don't know what's not
to like. To be honest with you, I mean, I
don't think I know your true self. I think that's
the problem. But what they do say is number one,
be yourself, but number two match their energy. Says This

(02:24):
helps with anyone you're trying to impress, whether it's your
boyfriend's family or your new boss or anybody. Match the vibe,
reflect their energy. If they're reserved, you be reserved. If
they're over the top, get a little over the top.
But don't be performative. This is so hard.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
It is like, be yourself, but actually change everything about you.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I saw this in real time over the holiday because
my cousin came to visit from Mexico City. We got
tickets to go see Billie Eilish. She is funny, but
she's reserved and I don't know her that well. Well,
my neighbors came over and they're horribly inappropriate. Oh great,
we sit around it. This is what we do. Does
anybody else have these neighbors? You sit around, you drink,
and then you're just the worst jokes come out. So
I literally had to sit them down. Okay, you too,

(03:02):
These are grown ass adults. I was like, you, guys,
my cousins here, you're going to be a mixed company.
Please keep the jokes as clean as possible. And I
could physically see in their faces when they wanted to
crack jokes and decided against it, like they would bite
their lip, you know. And internal, the internal battle is real.
So if you're trying to impress your significant other's family,

(03:23):
match their energy. That's rule number one. Unless you meet
producer Taylor's mom, her energy is not to be matched.
Oh yeah, she's her own thing.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
She is.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
She beats her own.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Number two on the list, listen carefully. Active listening one
of the most important parts of communicating. Again, I think
this is just applicable in life. I'm sure my wife
wishes I would do more of this, expert says, A
small head tilt goes a long way eye contact while
the speaker is talking shows your genuine interest. Pause before
replying half a beat when somebody's done speaking, so you

(03:55):
don't seem like you're just waiting to talk. Okay, pause
for half These are like just just life skill in general.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Right, this is what they teach you in communication classes.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Thank you. Maintain good posture. The way you carry yourself
can affect your confidence and your anxiety levels. Stay grounded
and at ease. Keep your back straight and your shoulders relaxed.
Don't perform We've talked about we've covered that, be yourself
and then finally, and this one has bit me in
the butt more than once. Use physical contact Wisely, I'm
a massive hugger.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I am too.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
There's nothing worse than meeting someone that's not a hugger.
And you didn't ask, you didn't get consent, You just
went in because you were excited. I had an ex girlfriend,
her family did not. There was no physical contact whatsoever.
And I'm Mexican, so it takes like a half hour
to leave a function. Yes, you don't say goodbye to
everybody and give kisses on the cheeks. People get offended.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Oh yes, angry phone calls.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
But my ex like, literally we stood at the door,
all right, but everybody goodbye, and I was like, that's it,
and I went in for a hug on her dad.
Oh God, awkward. You wanted to die and then I
wanted to die. Anyway, I think they are good how
to win your partner's family over the holidays.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
I think that the best way to win people over
probably is to bring something. Don't come empty handed. Bring flowers,
bring a bottle of wine, Bring a good appetizer.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
What if it's a dry party and you bring a
bottle of wine? Now what?

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Okay? Well, Marcus, I just listened to three other things.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Any tips would be great. You can use the talk
back on the iHeartRadio app. Its that little red microphone
if you're streaming Star one on one three right now.
I love this. People are talking about the life lessons
they wish they'd learned much sooner. We've talked about this
kind of stuff before, but it always bears repeating because
I feel like we need to reorient every once in
a while. I agree with ninety nine percent of these
One of these I don't agree with, so we'll get

(05:40):
to that in just one second. Joined by producer Taylor
good Morning. You can follow her at Taylove on Instagram.
She has been extremely helpful. I'm gonna talk about you
like you're not here for one second. Obviously we talk
about Corey got laid off, and so I was here
by myself and now I have producer Taylor helping me out.
We love her. Thank you.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
Yay.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
So life lessons people wish they'd learned sooner. Number one.
I love this. Don't wait on anyone for anything, period,
full stop. And this person writes, I don't say this
out of bitterness or maliciousness. I've just spent way too
much of my time in my life literally and figuratively
waiting for people. Set your limits, set your boundaries. That
helps to maintain respect. I love this so much. I

(06:17):
don't wait for other adults trying to get people together
to do anything. The older you get, it's like hurting cats.
On top of that, time is everything. And they say
the older you get, the quicker time goes. Like for me,
I blink and my kid goes from being a baby
to be eleven years old, and I'm gonna blink again,
and she's gonna be graduating college.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
And her time goes by so fast the older you get.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Od I'm like fifty two and I'm already like, I
already feel like I'm about to be sixty next year.
That's terrible.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
After twenty one, it was like life was on fast
track after that.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
So Taylor and I are talking about life lessons you
wish you'd learn sooner.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
One thing I was thinking about is how anger is
a vessel for the emotion that you're actually feeling. Okay,
I was thinking about how.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Elaborate on that, you know.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I think, especially when you're younger, it's hard to navigate
conflict resolution and things like that your emotions. And I
think anger tends to be one that people use as
a vessel for how they really feel. It's covering another emotion.
So I think taking a step.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Back because they don't want to feel vulnerable. They want
to that's their protection mechanism is just to come at
you hard and be angry.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Yes, So I think realizing that taking a step back
and trying to understand that, you know, everyone's going through something,
And I think that sometimes you can get so caught
up in your own world. And I think that was
very much me at a young age. So getting older
and realizing, like, you know, it's not that serious. Everyone's
going through something.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
It's funny. I didn't really learn that until I had
a kid, and then you learn about quote unquote big feelings,
and then I'll use that on my friends. Somebody's having
big feelings right now, right you need to get it out.
And then realizing that, yeah, when your kid acts out,
it's because there is a need that is unmet exactly,
and you got to figure out what that is. People
wish they learned at a at an earlier age. I

(08:03):
do love this. Everyone's just kind of winging.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
It, Yeah, totally. I know you realize that when you
meet people, you're like, dang, we're all just out here.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
We're all on this rock, just trying to figure trying
to pretend like we know what we're doing. I love
this one too. Somebody wrote, nobody's really thinking about you
as much as you think they are. Yeah, there is
no actual audience in your sitcom. Everyone's starring in their
own show, so like, don't even worry about it. You
think everybody's like focusing on something you're doing wrong. Nobody
actually cares. And that's okay, that's a good thing.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
But I am the star of the show in my
own mind.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Yeah, but I have my own sitcom going on and
it's not commercial break yet. This one I don't necessarily
agree with. I agree with half of it. All. Parents
are just flawed humans who really have no idea what
they're doing. They do if they took the time to
do some homework. We have access to the internet now, Yeah,
it's why the internet's important anyway, all right, share time

(08:58):
any life lessons you wish you would learn early you're
in life, Let us know. You can hit up on
the phone eight hundred eight hundred one oh one three
to be part of the show. You can use the
talk back to be part of the show. It's the
little red microphone. Hit that button, leave us a message.
If you're streaming Star one on one three right now, suck.
It's what's trending on Star one O one three.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
What's happening in entertainment news, the biggest stories of the
day and everything people are talking about.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Today in the Bay. Our dad joke of the week
just posted fresh content at one on one three Star
one on one three FM on Instagram and it's a hitter.
Did you laugh yesterday? Was it a good one?

Speaker 3 (09:34):
Sure?

Speaker 2 (09:35):
I could say that, I guess.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Arguably my best work to date. He says every week.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
I was just gonna say you say that every week
at Star.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
One one three fm on Instagram. It's up right now.
Producer Taylor is here going to be sharing the poll
that is up on the Star one on three FM
stories here in a moment. Stand by for your moment.
Yes Giving Tuesday today, that's the number one headline. If
you have a cause that you are passionate about, where
you've been thinking about making a donation to. I don't
even care who. Chances are there's a match out there.

(10:05):
You're gonna get doubled, You're gonna get tripled. Do your
research and give a little something today. Give somebody a
good holiday for example, if you wouldn't mind, we have
a toy drive and it's with WUY Children's Services right
here in San Francisco, so they service underserved families, kids
just trying to make a holiday bright for a kid,

(10:27):
and they specifically need toys for kids up to five
years old. You can buy a new unwrapped toy for
a child up to twelve. All the information is on
the website right now. I would love for you to donate.
This is their inaugural toy drive, so we're trying to
low the doors off of it. If you go to
one to one three dot com slash toy Drive and
thank you to wou Ye and everybody over there for
what they do for the community right here in San Francisco.

(10:47):
I love it. Amazon just launched a brand new ultra
fast delivery option. They're calling Amazon Now, have you heard
about this yet? So they're launching it in Seattle and
Philadela and you can get your stuff in thirty minutes
or less.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
No way, that's high speed.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Because dude, I remember when I was like two days.
Really wow, and it's free. All I gotta be is
a Prime member. Wow. They offer everyday essentials and groceries
in about thirty minutes, produce pantry staples, toilet trees, pet supplies,
seasonal items. Prime members can get it for about four
bucks per order, non Prime at fourteen. The idea is

(11:28):
they want you to have the corner store experience without
having to leave the couch. Okay, he with me. We'll
see when it rolls out into the Bay. Starting next year,
travelers who show up at the airport without their real
ID or another accepted form of ID will have to
verify their identity online at the airport and pay a
forty five dollars fee every time they fly.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
So wild to me, I won't I don't understand.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Taylor, who doesn't get mad on anything, walked in and
goes okay, I have to rant about something. But then
she teed off on the DMV and real ID And
why is this even a thing? I don't get it.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
It's too much. At the end of the day, I'm
still twenty five. I still exist.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Sometimes sometimes you have to fall in line, and I'm
the last person to say that, but sometimes I'll say
it again. Do not mess with the DMV. As someone
who spent years battling thousands of dollars for note just
to prove a point, you will lose.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
I know. Pray for me when I go into the
DMV later this.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Week you have your appointment. I do good for you.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Don't mess with the DMV or the irs. That's our
that's our life. Lesson today, let's see, we'll go to
sports really quick. Your sharks one yesterday sixty three was
the final against Utah. They'll be at the Shark Tank
tomorrow night against Washington. The puck drops on that game
at seven o'clock. The Dubs will be hosting Oklahoma City tonight.
That's going to be a tough one. Oklahoma City is
literally twenty and one and they're a good team. That

(12:54):
will be a Chase Center, So make sure it's rocking.
Tip off at eight o'clock, Go Dubs. And that is
what's trending, all right. Coming up in a few minutes,
we have Oh I forgot all about your poll, pardoner, ma'am.
We have a pull up right now on the Start
one one three FM Instagram stories. Let's close with that.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Yes, it is National Mutt Day, so we're asking what
kind of mutt has the most energy. Is it a
terrier mix, a shepherd mix, a poodle mix, or are
they just all wild?

Speaker 1 (13:20):
All right, well, some for our dog lovers.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Let us know.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Back with second date update, literally trying to help you
find love. The more I talk to people about dating,
the more treacherous I hear that it is. So we're
here to help. If you go on a first date
and let's say you're date ghosts, We will call them
with you on the line to try to figure things out,
see why they might have ghosted you. You know, sometimes
it works out in a second date. Let's se if
we can get that done for our guy. Hi, Hi,

(13:43):
May are you there?

Speaker 3 (13:44):
I am?

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Hey, So I want to hear all about this date.
Tell me about Eli. How'd you guys meet? And then
what'd you guys do for your first date?

Speaker 3 (13:51):
All? Right?

Speaker 5 (13:53):
Well, we met on grinder okay, but it wasn't immediate
meet we.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Like, it wasn't like a right away.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
We talked for a little bit and then we met
a couple of days later for tacos and Margarita's.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Okay because it's currently if I'm wrong with like, grinder
can be immediate, right, it can be like sitting ten
feet to your left.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
Let's go pretty yeah, pretty much that's what grinder.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Grinder usually is. Okay, but I don't know.

Speaker 5 (14:26):
We got to chat in and we decided that we
wanted to see if it would be more than just kind.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Of a grinder slow play. How often does this happen?

Speaker 3 (14:36):
Not?

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Very okay?

Speaker 3 (14:41):
So how was the d I mean it was really
it was really awesome.

Speaker 5 (14:45):
When we both love musical theater and we both we
both cry at the last ten.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
Minutes of so Go.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
I mean, who doesn't, right, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (14:56):
No, I thought he was really sweet and funny and
like he was really honest.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
We really we really had a lot to talk about.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Okay, Well, and he just ghosted, just gone.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
He just ghosted.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
I haven't heard from him.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Huh. All right, let's call him. I mean, that's why
we're here. We're gonna call him. We're gonna have you
on the line. Have you been on second D Update before?

Speaker 3 (15:21):
No, I have not.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
This is exciting. Okay, all right, hang on the line.
We're gonna play a song. Let's regroup it. I've got
HIGHM on the phone. He was telling me about his
date with Eli. They met on grinder and connected for
an actual date a couple of days later. I mean,
we were laughing because my grinder is typically immediate. It's
typically like a like a homing device almost, it is.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
It is. It's more like a hey, what are you into.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Right now in the moment, I'm on your left something
like that.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
Yeah, I'm on your left. Here here's a picture of
my junk right.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
All right, Well, you know what we're breaking ground, you
guys went out. It was tacos, It was in Oakland,
and you guys both love musical theater. I wrote it down.
You said, the conversation felt honest. The problem is Eli
has ghosted, So let's call him and try to figure
some things out. Okay, go ahead and mut your phone.
Here we go. Okay, Hello, Hello, May I speak to Eli? Please?

(16:26):
This is him Eli. This is Marcus from Star one
on one three iHeartRadio.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
Okay, what is the Did I win our conscious with it?

Speaker 1 (16:34):
You don't listen to the morning show?

Speaker 4 (16:36):
Do you heavy now and then? But not like often?
Not religiously?

Speaker 1 (16:40):
Okay, we're doing second date update right now? Does that
mean anything to you?

Speaker 4 (16:46):
It does not.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Okay. So I got a call from a gentleman that
you went out with not too long ago, went out
with for tacos, and his name's Hyman. He's saying that
you ghosted him, and I'm just calling kind of on
his behalf to try to figure out why if you
ghosted A and B, what happened? Did you ghost?

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Yeah? I did?

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Okay? Did he do something wrong?

Speaker 4 (17:13):
I mean, honestly, I'll say this, the date was fun.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
But because so here's here's what he told me. He
told me that, like, and I wrote it again. He
told me that the date felt really honest, So that's
the problem.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
It was too honest. Like when he was literally he
was talking about like planning ahead, like his few games.
He gave me his five year plan, and it was
like when he meets the right guy, he wants to
get married, he wants to have like a house in Berkeley,
he wants two dogs, a share closet. Like he was
telling me all that before we ordered keto, and then

(17:49):
he reached over and like touched my wrists and said,
I can tell you fall in love quickly as well.
And I'm like, no, I don't, like I mean, don't
get me wrong. He was a nice guy to try.
Like the conversation was good, but like it was just intense,
like really intense. He kept correcting my spaniss like when
I was ordering something, he would like correct me, which

(18:10):
I thought was kind of annoying.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Oh, I wasn't ask you if you thought that was
cuter if that was annoying, But all right, the.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
First time was cute, but the second time I was like, Okay,
I get it. Spanish isn't my first leguage, Like this
is getting kind of a bit much.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Right, Okay, so basically like he was too fast, too
furious kind of.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
Yeah, like he was telling me about like what the
dog's names would be, just a lot sure hear.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
The thing about it is is that I'm is actually
listening right now. We'll try to use this as a
teachable moment. Sorry, I'd love to bring him on, if
that's sure him. Are you there?

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (18:45):
Hey, hi, so, uh you can see how this might
be a little bit accelerated.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Right, Yeah, I mean, I mean I was joking kind of.

Speaker 5 (19:01):
I mean, you know, as I said, grinder is usually
wham bam, but since we were actually going on dates,
I figured it would be funny to joke about, Hey,
we've done the whole skip grinder immediacy, and now we're
clearly ready for a future together.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
I mean, I'm gonna be honest with you. It didn't
seem jokingly to me, Like it seemed like you were
just genuinely looking for like something more and I'm just
trying to have fun. I'm not looking at that road
on the road. I'm not looking for relationship or dating
or a boyfriend or anything like You're on like a
whole other level and I respect that you're honest about
whatever you're looking for, but I am not in any way,

(19:43):
shape or for I'm looking for any type of commitment
or anything like that at all.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
Okay, Honestly, that's too bad because I thought, you know,
if we were actually meeting up and having a conversation
instead of getting right to make and stuff.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
I mean, sometimes I just want to get dinner, but
like I don't want to, but you were really just
pushing it. Man. It just seems like you you're really
looking for that guy, and I hope you find it,
but it's just I can't be that guy.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
All right, hang on you too. That's going nowhere now officially.
Gift giving, gift buying? What the heck do you want
for Christmas? Honukah season? Do you ever struggle with who
to give gifts too? That's the question? Taylor is here, Hello,
my new producer. You could follow her online at Taylove.
Do you ever struggle with who to give gifts to?

Speaker 2 (20:27):
I have a lot of families.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
Do you ever have trouble deciding who gets a gifted
who doesn't?

Speaker 3 (20:32):
Like?

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Depends on how good we're we're doing.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
In the moment, how good we're standing only during the
good years are going to get a gift from me.
So there is an etiquette expert. Her name's Elaine, and
she has what she calls the onion method. And I
don't know if I agree with it, never heard of it.
It says, if you're on a budget, just imagine an onion.
The center of the onion represents the center of your life.

(20:56):
These are the people that you prioritize the most, so
like for me, it would be my wife, my daughter.
Then you work your way outside the ring in terms
of the amount of money that you're going to spend.
This is the part I don't agree with necessarily. Let's
say you have a large family. One of your siblings
is in your inner circle, while you only see maybe
the others on holidays because maybe they live out of town.

(21:17):
The inner sibling would get the priority gift and the
others may only get a card.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
It's gonna start some fighting, That's.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
What I'm saying. Somebody's gonna die today.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Oh yeah, can you imagine that phone call? Oh I
would be upset.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
Is the Taylor on the other end of that line,
I'm sorry she gave you what now?

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Oh yeah, I would take it.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
So personally, I got a Starbucks gift card and you
got what. Now, maybe it'll work for you. Here's what
we do and my family is we give gifts to
the kids, Like I give a gift to my wife,
and then if we've got nieces and nephews and my daughter, everybody,
they all get gifts.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
The problem is I forgot to tell my mom about
our new thing this one year. It just happened, and
she got a card. I still haven't heard the end
of that.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Oh yeah, I bet.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Anyway, the onion method, there you go. The center of
the onion is your inner circle, and then everybody else
represents a layer. When you're gift giving, you can decide
how much money you want to spend on them. Maybe
you've got your own method. I'd love to hear it.
You can leave a talkback on the iHeartRadio app that
little red microphone if you're streaming Star one on one three.
Right now, it's time for good news.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Sometimes all you need is one a good thought to
make it a great day. So let's do this. It's
good news on Star one on three, So.

a family of Angels in the South Bay who have
made national news. This is a family who opened their
home to strangers shoppers that were running from that Valley

(22:55):
Fair shooting on Black Friday. You probably heard about that
in the news. That on into its self super scary.
But then here's this family who literally lives across the street,
literally down the street from my in laws where my
wife grew up, and they just the the The dad,
his name's Martine, he said that he thought he was
being pranked because all the the on the ring cam

(23:18):
you could see all like dozens of people running to
his front door. And he said, he said, I thought
I was being pranked because I all ran to the
back of the house. I looked there were more people coming,
and I realized there was something bad going on. I
just let them into the house. One of the ladies
who took shelter in his house said, we landed in
the street of our wonderful new friends, the Angels, the

(23:39):
Garcia family. It was the breathtaking moment. They felt the love,
the comfort, and the door opened like just a couple
of angels. They do have somebody in custody on that shooting,
that's more good news. But if you know the Garcia family, man, seriously,
that is a that's the next level good Samaritan, guardian

(24:01):
angels stuff. Just dozens of people rushing into your home
because they need shelter and they need help. Appreciate you
guys down there. It's time to play the bass favorite
trivia games called what You Know About That.

Speaker 2 (24:11):

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
