Speaker 1 (00:00):
Variety from the two thousands, the nineties and today it's
a Star one on one three.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
It's Marcus, It's Monday morning. Stretch it out. This is
your reminder to breathe. We should do this every hour.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Take a deep breath every morning. Hey, what's happening? Producer
Taylor is here?

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
We had a big weekend.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
We did we Frosty Snowfest and Daily City was just
off the chart.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Thank you to everybody that came out.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
I just want to be able to say that you
can check out this really cool video that we did
on the Star one on one three FM, Instagram, met
a bunch of people, did a lot of fun things.
Ceremony Center. Marie and her crew over there always do
it a.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Big oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
They always show up.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Before that gig, I was absolutely useless because I was
telling Taylor, I don't know who needs to hear this,
but your Apple TV, if you have Apple TV now
has a karaoke function that is off the charts, and
I don't believe I'll ever leave the house again because
you can now use your iPhone microphone with your TV
with the update and you can just sing.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Your heart out. So that's what I did on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Yeah, Hay Day for you.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah. My girls do this holiday tea every year with
their friends, and they were gone for the day.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Oh no, So I was at the front room having
bad practice. It gets better. I also discovered a Backstreet
Boys documentary from twenty fifteen on Amazon Prime. Oh my god,
over there, mar I was so in my feelings because
I lived all of that in the early two thousands.
It was my first gig in San Francisco at a

(01:28):
station called Z ninety five point seven. If anybody remembers,
you know, we played all the Backstreet Boys, we played
all the in sync, all the Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera,
Aqua Barbie, all that stuff. And so like, I'm watching
these guys and just knowing the behind the scenes and
then knowing where I was in that moment.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
And I cried a little bit. Oh my, and then.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
I sang, and then I sang. It was what a
glorious Saturday that was. I kept expecting my wife to
check in because we have cameras in the living room.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Yeah, oh my god, and I was feeling it.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
I would pay for that footage anyway.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Appreciate you joining us this morning. We have a lot
going on.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
This is something we were talking about Friday, but I
want to bring it back in case you missed it,
because I think it's important. Australia has just done something
that I find fascinating and I need to know what
you think about it. So eight hundred eight hundred one
oh one three to check in with your opinion. They
became the first country in the world to ban kids
under sixteen from having social media accounts on like TikTok
so no Instagram, no YouTube, no Snapchat, no Facebook. Now

(02:30):
producer Taylor is here. Hell, you're you know, younger than
I am. We're two different generations. How do you feel
about this for the kids, because I feel like there are.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Going to be a bunch of teenagers little loser damn mindes.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Oh of course they will. But I mean, as someone
who grew up when social media was kind of being established,
one PC agree with this, Okay. I think it's a
great idea on Australia's part because I got my first
Facebook when I was thirteen, right, you know, and I
feel like I'm even kind of going through the repercussions
of that now.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
I severely dislike social media just as a whole, especially
for what it does to kids' psyches, your self esteem,
your mental well being, especially young ladies, because you see yourself,
you post something, you don't get enough likes or shares
or whatever, comments or enough positivity, and then it messes
with your head, so you yank it down. And this

(03:20):
is currency that meta and these companies made up likes
are made up and now they run our lives. What
did I tell you when you first started working here?
So what I love about Taylor is and you can
actually follow her at Taylove to Ease. I feel weird
pimping that while we're talking about this, but you aren't
really that robust on social media. She's great at making videos.

(03:41):
All the videos that you see as do. That's Taylor's work.
You have a degree from San Francisco State in media literacy,
Like you know how the algorithm works, but you've chose
not to engage it. And I told you straight up
and I'll say it. Our company will not take you
seriously unless you are some level of influencers. So let's
pump the number. So PS help Taylor pump the numbers.
I'll do it again at Taylove two E's it's fun

(04:03):
if we're a follow please and that impressed me and
I felt awful having to force you to do what
I have to do, which is post all the time.
I mean, it's fun on some level, but I only
want to post what I want to post.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
And so as an adult, I feel myself getting addicted.
I can't even imagine as a kid under sixteen. The
big question if you're listening right now, is this too
much government oversight? Should it be left to the parents.
Would this be a sigh of relief if they did
it in the States. I have so many questions, so
please eight hundred, eight hundred one oh one three if

(04:36):
you want to check in again. Australia just became the
first country and it's starting on December tenth, so or
a few days away. These big platforms have already eliminated
thousands of teen accounts because it's a massive fine. It's
like thirty three million dollars if they don't wow, So
nobody under sixteen will be on social media in Australia,
first of its kind in the world.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
How do you feel about it? The number is.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Eight hundred, eight hundred one oh one three If you
want to check in. You can also leave a talkback,
which will be a thirty second message on the iHeartRadio
app if you're streaming Star one on one three right now,
there's two great ways to get a hold of us.
DM's always good too at its Marcus d on Instagram.
I want to revisit something we were talking about basically
all last week because it was so much fun. Honestly,
it's a weird topic, but thank you for all the

(05:20):
talkbacks on your road. Rage isn't right, But like, what's
your finishing move when somebody does you dirty on the freeway?

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Nothing violent?

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Okay, we'd ran the gambit last week, but I just
got a spectacular phone call. People were saying things like,
oh I tailgate, or they do what I do, which
is roll up next to you just to get a
look at you. You feel badly. Maybe if it's a
senior citizen. I get all of that. Now, what's your move?
This is Amy ad in the sunset.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
Tell me I give them the biggest, grand imaginable and
I just wave.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
I tell them what time is.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
So somebody cuts you off and you're gonna.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
Roll kind of a better f you. It's like you
are you have to live with that.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
It's like, bless your heart, kind of okay, bless.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Your heart, which translates to something else. You're way too kind.
You're like the nicest person. You know what I do,
I will, I will roll up on you.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
I have to get a look at you to make
to make sure you're as dumb as I think you are.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Mean mugs.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Oh, I don't mean mug you at all. I do
something way worse.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
I harness the fiery power of a thousand sons of
disdain in my face, and then I look at you
like you are the scourge of the earth, and I
just shake my head, like, why don't you go back
to school and learn how to drive?

Speaker 5 (06:34):
Wow, So we do the opposite.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Yeah, you're a good person.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
I'm petty, but it's the same no that takes courage.

Speaker 6 (06:43):
I feel like mine's a little more like Grin and Barrett,
like you're.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
I'm not going to get mad.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
You're the nicest human being the world beats needs more
people like you and less people like me.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
I think that's what I've decided.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
No, you're brave.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
You're great too. Thanks for checking in. This is what
I'm talking about.

Speaker 6 (07:02):
What's trending on Star What's happening in entertainment news, the
biggest stories of the day and everything people are talking about.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Today in the Bay, the teeniest of teeny tiny earthquakes
have hit the Tri Valley today. It did like three
of them, right, yes, so the biggest one was a
three point zero from a Californian standpoint, that's like.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
That's like just the earth stretching it out, right.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
I like the little ones because I feel like it
just there's a lot of pressure there and it just
kind of goes. It's like a chiropractic appointments, just move
a little bit. So what's the question on on Facebook?
Have you posted yet? Yes?

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Okay, so we're asking where were you when it happened?
Did you feel it this morning? Please let us know.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Producer Taylor very active on the social media this morning.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
So thank you.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Got you all covered on that, of course, but shout
out to everybody listening. Danville, Dublin, pleasant in San Ramon,
love you guys. Let's see, Let's take it to West
Cocoa County as the school district.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
So this is the teachers strike enters day three. Now
the update is.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
The district came through with an offer they were negotiating
over the weekend. It is a three percent ongoing rays
and limited increases to healthcare support, which is a couple
of things that the teachers Union is asking for. The
union rejected the proposal, pushing for significantly larger rays, et cetera,
et cetera. Basically, the gap is still massive. So the

(08:26):
union has come back with a counteroffer. The district is
they're they're considering it. Both sides want this over. That's
the one thing I learned over the weekend. Obviously for
the kids, So let's just cross our fingers. But day three,
if you're headed out to the picket line, please be
safe out there, and we're rooting.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
For this to be over as soon as possible.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
For sure, We've got a toy drive going on that
I would love for you to participate in and contribute.
If you were sewing clients with WUYI Children's Services, we
were talking about it all last week. They specifically need
toys for kids up to five years old, but will
take toys for kids up to twelve years old, and
they service thousands of families who might not otherwise have
a holiday here in San Francisco. I mean They service

(09:06):
them year round with all kinds of needs like really
basic needs, food, insecurities and things of that nature.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Education. But if you have a chance, please contribute. We're
partnered up with them this year.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
It's one on one three dot com slash Toy Drive
very simple and thank you in advance. PRODUCEA Taylor also
rocking the Star one oh one three FM daily Instagram
poll on the Stories.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
What do we have?

Speaker 6 (09:27):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (09:27):
Yes, it is happ our National Crossword Puzzle Day. So
we're asking how often do you do crossword puzzles? And
be honest, is it daily, weekly, only when you're bored?
Or has it been years for you?

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Does wordld count?

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (09:40):
I would say word out.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Okay, all right, that's fair then yeah, all right, So
hit us up if you want to participate. It's on
the Star one on one three FM Stories for National
Crossword Puzzle Day.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
We're doing second Date Update. We're back with it.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
The way it works is if you get ghosted after
a first date, I'll call your date with you on
the phone and we'll try to figure it all out
in real time. Typically we have got you on mute,
so I get the info and then hopefully you get
the second date.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
So let's bring on Nate up here. How are you good?
How are you doing?

Speaker 5 (10:07):
You're doing all right, I'm doing okay.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
I want to talk about your date obviously with Sienna
down there in San Jose. Yeah, I understand that you
that you met online.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
What did you do on your first date? Because I
guess she's ghosted.

Speaker 5 (10:19):
Yeah, haven't haven't heard back from her since our date,
which I thought. We had a great time.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
It was.

Speaker 5 (10:24):
It was really fun. You know, we went room for
stakes and during OJ's and you know, there was this
it was kind of fun because there was.

Speaker 7 (10:33):
This wedding party in the back and so the whole
vibe of the of the place was just electric. So
without without really being a part of that wedding party,
we were just having a great time. You were foxy,
I mean yeah, basically, you know, at one point at
Grimsmin came by and tried.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
To offer a shot. So it was just really a
fun atmosphere.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Okay, why not.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
The conversation was great, Like really, there wasn't any dull moments, no, Paul.
We both come from big families, so like we had
so much sibling drama for sure, thought, which was really fun. Yeah,
we're both like horror movies. I don't know, we've neither
of us know how a whistle right you? Yeah, yeah,

(11:17):
it was fun. It was just a fun that I
thought the chemistry was really good. I thought we had
a connection, okay, and just genuinely surprised to not have
heard back.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Let me try to figure it out.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
So what we'll do is we'll call Sienna, like I said,
we'll have you on the phone muted, and let's see
if we can get some answers. Ultimately, I would love
to get you a second date, like that's the goal.
I've got my guy Nate on the phone, and he
and Sienna went to Original Joe's in San Jose, Oh
Jays for some steaks. I love the part about being
there with a wedding party. Nate, Are you still there?

Speaker 5 (11:48):
Nate?

Speaker 2 (11:48):
I just want to make sure we're all cute.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
Yeah, yeah, I'm still here.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
And so you guys got offered shots by one of
the groomsmen, and yeah, so it was fun. But she
is ghosted, so let's call her. Let's figure this out,
all right, go ahead and go on mute.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Here we go. Okay, all right, hello, Hi, may I
speak to siena Plase.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Speaking.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Who's this good morning? It's it's Marcus from Star one
on one three. I do the I do the morning
show on Star. I don't suppose you listen to you.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
I haven't no, Okay.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
So radio show. I'm wondering if you have a second
to be on the air, Okay, sure, oh thanks.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
We're doing a segment called second Date Update. And I
got floated your phone number by a guy that listens
to our show and he says, you guys went on
our first date. He's feeling like you ghosted. So I'm
trying to figure out do you do something wrong or
what happened. I'm wondering if you could talk about your
date with Nate.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
How was it? How was it for you?

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Well?

Speaker 8 (12:54):
I would say this is kind of strange, but yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Mean he said it was. He said it was good.

Speaker 8 (13:01):
It started off well until he pulled out a pocket
knife to cut his steak.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
I mean, who travels around with cutlery?

Speaker 2 (13:10):
He brought his own knife?

Speaker 8 (13:12):
Yeah, and I thought that was I thought that was
very strange and sure, yeah, and you know, he kept
making a lot of dad jokes even though I told
him that, you know, I'm not into that, and I
would like that, you know, to just just talk without
him just being on you know, constantly, like just talk

(13:35):
like a regular person.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Sure, and.

Speaker 8 (13:40):
You know, like the the big moment that really pushed
it over was when the bill came and he asked
loudly if they offered first date discounts.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
This to the server.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Yeah, I just really turned me off.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Sure, I can imagine.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Well a big part of this is that that Nate
is actually on the phone, He's actually listened.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Right now, and now I have questions Nate, are you there? Yeah, yeah,
I'm still here, Nate, Sienna Siena, Nate.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
So, Nate, this is a lot. Did you really bring
your own pocket knife?

Speaker 5 (14:12):
Well, I mean yeah, yeah, Okay, I see how that's
kind of strange, but that's just I mean, that's how
I grew up. I I grew up with a with
a dad that we we built stuff every day. He
would say he called his uh, he called his knife
his pants. So when we'd leave for works, that you
got your pants on, and that meant did you have
your blade on you?

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Yeah, but you're camping, you're not yourself camping.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
But I always have a blade on me, So I
just have a knife. It's one of my favorite new knives,
and I was just using it. I didn't realize it
was going to be such a issue.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Okay, see how that's weird. I mean, you're going to
a steakhouse they have knives.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Yeah, no, I.

Speaker 5 (14:52):
I do see that. I get it. I you know what, Honestly,
I kind of thought that maybe it was quirky. It's
just definitely who I am.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
Okay. And then I mean, were you were you firing
off the jokes?

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Yeah, I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 5 (15:07):
She's not wrong about that. Yeah, you know, I think
I was nervous and that was just nervous energy coming out.
She did mention it actually a couple of times for
me to quit and my mouth just didn't have a filter.
My brain thinks in puns sometimes do I get nervous?
And then you know, with the wedding party and they
were coming through and just it was very joky, and
I slipped right into it.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Huh.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
Yeah, I mean that's that's just my bad. I could
have done better on that front.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Okay. And then apparently you're the cheapest day imaginable.

Speaker 5 (15:36):
I mean, come on, that's funny. I just thought that
was funny, and it's true. You never do know unless
you ask.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
I've gotten discounts before her asking you just you never know.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
I mean, that was a ridiculous thing to ask.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Okay, Cianna, he really likes you. He seems apologetic. Could
we go for a second date like I do over
now that we've got some self awareness?

Speaker 3 (16:00):
No, I don't think this is gonna work for me.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Okay.

Speaker 8 (16:03):
I mean, he's a nice enough guy, but just you know,
I don't think we're on match.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
I get it. Hang on, oh man, I was rooting
for Nate. I thought we were going to make that happen.
Second ight.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Update, I got a DM over the weekend and our
guy Ben and Walnut Creek. He's a listener to the show,
been listening for a while. He needs some help and
I'm not exactly sure what to do here. So if
you have a thought eight hundred, eight hundred and one
oh one three, or you can send us a talkback
on the iHeartRadio ap Here's what he writes. Marcus, what
do I do with the concert tickets that I bought so.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Earlier this year?

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Says I managed to get tickets for my girlfriend and
I to the edge Sheer in concert of Levi Stadium
show obviously next July. A couple of days ago, my
now ex girlfriend has told me she's been seeing someone
else and broke things off with me at the end
of the dumping call. She then asked if I would
just forward her the tickets since they were for us.
I see no reason that they should now be hers.
In fact, I would like to go see the show.

(16:54):
I've also looked on stub Hub to see how much
I could get just by selling them. Is there any
reason I should feel obligated to pass them on to
her so she could take this other dude probably or
even sell them herself. I am embarrassed that she's actually
getting to me. What do you think now, I've pulled
producer Taylor in because you are actually dating. Have you
ever been in this situation?

Speaker 4 (17:14):
I have not, I would say on her part, that's
kind of messed up.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
I can't even imagine that she had the gall to
even say that. In my opinion, is there any scenario
where I'm just trying to think I'm a nice guy.
I might have back in the day actually went fine, here,
get these out of my life.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
The petty me would have been like, listen, I'm going
to give you one ticket and I'll see you there.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
That's crazy, that's unhitched Marcus coming out right. Oh, I listen,
I'm not gonna be weirded out. You might be, I'll
be fine. Is there any reason he should give her
the tickets? If you're listening right now, have you been
in similar situation?

Speaker 2 (18:01):
You know?

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Like, for example, I have friends that have been divorced,
and then the missus calls and says, hey, the toilet's broken,
can you come handle it?

Speaker 2 (18:10):
And you do?

Speaker 3 (18:10):
You?

Speaker 2 (18:10):
You don't do it for her? Do you do it
for the kids? Yeah? But what if she's got a
do she's already living with Right.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
I'm saying no, I think he needs to keep the tickets.
Maybe use them for yourself, try to sell them if
you can, I.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Mean sell them to her. Am I right?

Speaker 4 (18:25):
Because that was supposed to be for you to write
and you're not together anymore.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
Oh, there's no way I would be able to sit
there on July twenty fifth thinking about her with some
other dude going.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
To the edge shearing show.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
I mean, maybe we've solved this, Maybe you've got a
thought again, leave a talk back on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
If you don't mind the little red microphone, you can
leave us a message or check in. The number is easy.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
It's eight hundred, eight hundred one oh one three.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
It's time for good news. No one go.

Speaker 6 (18:54):
Sometimes all you need is there one a good thought
to make it a great day.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
So let's do this. It's good News on Stylene.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Welcome back from the weekend.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
We do good news at seven forty just to start
your day off right, get you centered properly, put a
smile on your face, renew your faith in humanity, all
good reasons. This hour brought to you by Shriven Company,
luxury time pieces, find designers and flawless diamonds. And I
just read something spectacular as Mackenzie Scott, who you know

(19:25):
is successful in her own right for many different reasons.
She's a massive philanthropist, but most people know her as
Jeff Bezos's ex wife. She just made a fifty million
dollar donation to cal State East Bay and I'm here
for it. This is amazing to me. This is the
largest gift in the school's history. It's going to significantly
boost its endowment. And basically, I guess you you basically

(19:48):
send it in an application and her team chooses, and
this is the first school in the Bay Area to
benefit from her generosity. She gives regularly and again, Kenzie
Scott just gave up fifty million dollar to cal State
East Bay. I think that's fantastic and I also love
the fact that she has vowed to donate the majority
of her wealth. I think that they should all do

(20:09):
that to be fair. Anyway, Thank you, Mackenzie Scott. Shout
out to cal State d S Bay.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
What's up? Congratulations seven forty three. We'll check what's trending here.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
In about seven minutes, we had some earthquakes popping off
in the Try Valley.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
Give you the update on that.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
You could check in on the Facebook page as to
whether or not that affected you at all or maybe
woke you up this morning.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Appreciate you having us on it.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
This is what I'm talking about, is what's trending on
Star one one three.

Speaker 6 (20:35):
What's happening in entertainment news, the biggest stories of the
day and everything people are talking about.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
Today in the Bay Number one hitter this morning. Where
are a few earthquakes? They hit the Try Valley?

Speaker 1 (20:45):
So like San Ramon, Pleasanton Danville Uh, everybody should be fine.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Let me know if this adversely affected you.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
I have to think that the reactions were different even
though the biggest one was only a three point zero.
I have to think the reactions were different when producer
Taylor is here. If you are like a Native Californian,
you probably were like, oh, somebody's got gas.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
But if you're a transplant, you're like.

Speaker 5 (21:08):
What is happening?

Speaker 2 (21:10):
Why is the ground moving?

Speaker 1 (21:14):
I never feel these things with my luck. My wife
probably felt it in Half Moon Bay. She feels all
of them, you know. Anyway, biggest one three point zero?
Were you woken up by it? Anything adversely affected? Did
a lawn chair fall over in the backyard?

Speaker 2 (21:26):
What happened?

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Hit us on the Star one one three FM facebook
page if you want to report. The West Contra Costa
County School District teachers strike enters day three and they're
back on the picket line. Shout out to everybody out there,
Thank you for listening this morning. Maybe on your way
in the district did submit a proposal? Still a vast

(21:49):
gap between what the district is willing to part with
and what the teachers union would like. So the teachers
union has sent a counterproposal. This is the update that
I have, and everybody wants to get this done as
quickly as possible, to be honest, So let's hope for
some good negotiations here this week so we can get
the teachers back in the classrooms with our kids.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
And this affects you know, for example, Richmond, Panol, Hercules
that area there.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Let's see, we have a toy drive going on right now,
would love for you to contribute. This is with Wouyi
Children's Services out of San Francisco. They helped thousands of
families with basic needs. Literally, there are people going to bed,
don't know where their next meal is coming from, not
sure how they're going to put a holiday together, not
sure how they're gonna make it this week. But with
a place like Woui Children's Services, they're really helping out

(22:37):
and would love it if you would help us help
them as we have partnered for this year's toy drive
all the information and they specifically need toys for kids
up to five years old. Go to one on one
three dot com slash toy drive very easy if you're
on the Star one on one three FM Instagram. We
do have a poll this morning for National Crossword Day,
Producer Taylor take it away.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
Yes, it is National Crossword Puzzle Days. So we are
wondering how often do you do crossword puzzles? Is it daily?
Is it weekly only when you're bored? Or has it
been years since you've touched one.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
We've decided that wordle counts. Yes, wordle counts, so make
it happen. You can pop up there right now and
take a part in our daily poll.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
We appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
Since it is time to play to win the Bay's
favorite trivia game called What You Know About That?

Speaker 4 (23:20):
We have four tickets for the Exploratorium Discover the Art
of Light this winter with glow luminous artworks invite you
to connect, play and get inspired. Don't miss the Exploratorium
seasonal exhibition now through January twenty fifth at Pure fifteen.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
So fun. Thank you, Producer Taylor, say good morning to
our contestants.

Speaker 1 (23:37):

try to give as many right answers as you can.
You don't know an answer, you yell out, pass and
we'll come back to the question if we have time. Okay,

What are you talking about play with us again at
weekday mornings at eight.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
O five am. And add to what you know about
that podcast is a preset on our iHeart app and
never miss an episode. I just got a great DM
on Instagram on something we were discussing last week.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Uh, and I'm not going to read the.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Whole message of what we were discussing, but it was
basically a mom from Redwood City and Lane What's Up?
Who was overwhelmed at all of the activities that her
kids were getting into, sports and everything else, performances in theater, thanks.
She's got three kids in three different schools. She's a
single mom, and she never felt like she was good enough.
So we were trying to give her some peace, trying

(28:04):
to give her some grace, trying to give her some advice.
And I got a text from excuse me, a DM
from Michelle who says, I feel for Elane. My daughter's
in gym Monday through Friday, boys are in swim, My
three kids are in different schools. I also am a
working mom. I finally decided that I can't change time,
so I have to change my relationship with it. I

(28:24):
have to relax my expectations which were unrealistic to begin with,
and also really lean into the time we do have
together to make that special and memorable. You can't be
everywhere all at once, so focusing on the impossible is
of no use. That's the line I like the most.
I'm gonna say it again. You can't be everywhere all
at once, so focusing on the impossible is of no use.

(28:45):
You have to focus on what is realistic and make
that happen with a happy heart. I don't know who
needs to hear that today, but there you go. Give
yourself some grace. Jillian's on the way next. She's got
more Star music for your workday. She's got these tailors
swim of prize packs to give away. You can get
that information on the Star one oh one three fm Instagram.
All that and more coming up. Have a great day.

(29:07):
I'll talk to you tomorrow.
