Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm Madison Ray and you're watching my iHeartRadio Ask Anything Chat.
My new song is called Diet Pepsi And thanks to
Romeo and Most Requested Live for having me on the
show tonight to answer your questions. Okay, First up, Christina
from Lexington, Kentucky. When do you know it's time to
release new music? What triggers in your mind that it's

(00:20):
the right time. And this is such a tricky question
because I feel like everything, you know, there's no technical
right time for anything. You kind of just have to
make your own right time. And I think that's kind
of what I did and what I continue to do
is just follow what really feels right. And when the
vision and the music is ready to see the world,
I think it's pretty clear, and so I always try

(00:44):
to follow that instinct. Yeah, so anytime can be the
right time if you make it the right time. Judy
from Farmington Hills asked when you were doing your new movie,
how great was it having Aquaman and Deadpool on this? Well,
this is complicated and I technically can't really talk about
it yet, but yeah, I think stay tuned and you'll

(01:07):
get to see kind of how it all unfolds and
from Indian River in Florida said, how did die PEPSI
come together? I wrote this song with two girls named
Luca and Elvira, and they're absolutely incredible writers and producers,
and we wrote this song together on the first day
that we ever met or worked together. So it was

(01:29):
a really magical experience. And it really just feels like
we honed in on the energy at the right time
and really dove into it together, and we felt like
it was really magical whenever we were making it, so
I'm glad that everyone who really loves it feels the
same way. Brenda from Atlanta, Georgia asked how many followers

(01:51):
did you have when you realize that you can make
a career out of it? That is an interesting question.
I feel like it was more of a feeling I
think I was. I was realizing that not only, you know,
getting followers, but also like maybe some brands started reaching
out or getting excited or maybe even commenting on my posts,

(02:12):
and I was like, Oh, if I really take this seriously,
maybe there's something special that I can create out of this.
And I think that's that's where I went with it.
So Yeah. Lisa from Cincinnati, Ohio, when you write a
song about a popular product like diet pepsi, do they
call you up and offer you a truckload of the
stuff as a thank you? You know? Actually kind of?

(02:32):
But I got really fortunate because Pepsi it was so
amazing and sent me plenty of Pepsi products, so I
got to try flavors that I hadn't even tried yet,
like zero sugar, cherry or something like that, and I
was like, this is exciting, and so yeah, I got
really lucky. Pepsi's amazing. So, Mallory from Henderson, Nevada, where

(02:54):
did you play your first gig as Addison Ray? This
is a complicated question. I guess. I guess the Charlie
Show when I came out would have technically been my
first gig, But I don't know. If I I don't know,
is that does that sound right? Kind of ish? Yeah?
So then Samantha from Miami, Florida, do you like diet

(03:17):
pepsi with or without ice? Definitely? With. I love ice,
so like crushed ice or like shaved ice or what
is it called? Like a no, not crush It's like
like the like the Thaie iced tea ice Like okay, no,

(03:39):
chipped ice. I love it with chipped ice because then
it's almost like a slushy but it's not. Yeah, so
like I do like my Diet Pepsi with ice, and
it's either like chipped dice or like crushed ice. I
love crushed ice and I love eating ice, which is terrible,
but I love it. Bella from is It Chattanooga, Chattanooga? Okay,

(04:00):
met up from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Is that you or a
model on the cover artwork for Diet Pepsi? That's me? Yeah,
that's me. Fun fact, I actually color edited the cover,
so nobody knows that. But we shot the photo and
it was done with no Edits kind of just a
little bit of lighting touch ups, and then I kind

(04:22):
of had an idea for what the cover would look
like color wise, and then I edited edited it on
my laptop while I was actually on a trip. So yeah,
that was all me And that is me and the photo.
Morgan from Bourbon, California. As you get older, how are
you becoming more like your parents? Oh that's such an

(04:43):
interesting question. I feel like you know, as you grow
up you realize it in random ways, one specifically that
somebody else noticed and I was like, Wow, that's actually
so true and it's so like my mom. But I
love to like dissect my food. Then it's really embarrassing,
but I do that, and I always like, oh, moments

(05:03):
so annoying, and of course now I do that. So Yeah.
Jennifer from Wilkes bar Wilkes Barre, Jennifer from Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
I would love to hear about your influences and mentors
in the music business. I think someone that has been
a really great mentor for me is Charlie XCX, who's
absolutely incredible and always been such a light for me

(05:26):
in you know, the past few years that we've known
each other. More of my influences are I love Charlie,
I love Madonna, I love Lady Gaga, I love Britney Spears,
I love Marilyn Monroe. Even I think musically, I really
love so many different things that it's not necessarily an

(05:46):
exact influence for the sound by any means, but I
think just the feeling. Yeah. Dawn from Cleveland, Ohio. Do
you have a closet at home just for your performance
flows or do you mix your personal clothes in with them? No,
I actually mixed my personal clothes in with them. I actually,
I think most of the things I like to wear

(06:08):
all kind of live in the same world, and so
I have it all together. But it's pretty easy to
pick and choose the pieces that I feel like I
could perform in. Patricia from Knoxville, Tennessee. Do you remember
how you felt on your first movie set you were on? Definitely,
really nervous, but really excited and really taking it all
in and trying to stay there longer than I needed

(06:29):
to to learn the ins and out's a little bit better.
Karen from Charles Charleston, South Carolina. Karen from Charleston, South Carolina.
That was great what you did for the No Kid
Hungry charity. Oh, thank you so much. I really appreciate that.
Amanda from Columbus, Ohio. What's a typical day look like
for you when you're recording music or filming a movie? Oh?

(06:53):
I mean both of those are very different, but just
busy working and staying focused, probably like snacking in between
those things, but yeah, you know, making mood boards and
always trying to stay inspired and stay tuned in to
whatever's going on around me and learning from the people

(07:14):
around me. Sue from fort Erie, Ontario. Who's the most
famous person that you've met that was an Addison Ray fan? Ah,
that's such a funny question. I feel like I'm pretty
surprised pleasantly all the time with people that will have known,
you know, anything I've done, the music, the movies. I

(07:36):
don't really know if I've an answered to this one.
I think I'm always always really pleasantly surprised, and a
lot of times it's like, oh, this person followed me
on Instagram. It's someone that I really really love and
admire and inspired by. So I guess you never really
know when it happened or why, but it's always really
exciting when it does. Tanner from Toronto, Ontario. Will you

(07:58):
tour in twenty twenty four? Well, no, I don't think so.
The year's almost over, so that would be a lot
to come together in a really short time, but definitely
in the future. Autumn from Birmingham, Alabama. A large percentage
of your fans want to learn about you beyond your music.
How do you decide where to draw the line when
sharing your personal life? That is a great question. I

(08:20):
feel like I like to be careful, of course, because
I always want to keep things for myself and keep
things personal, but I also love sharing myself and a
lot of parts of myself with people, and I think
connection is kind of the main thing. So if we connect,
I'm down to share anything you know. Kelsey from Pittsburgh, Sensuania,

(08:41):
what was your first cell phone? I don't actually remember.
I think it was an It was like a one
that slid up on the side and then had a keyboard.
That was my first cell phone. Chelsea from Richmond, Virginia.
Can you tell us what kind of car you have?
Does it have a killer sound system? I have a
rain Rover and I love it and it sounds amazing.

(09:04):
Mh Ari from New York says, do you recall the
first time you saw somebody create create art of you?
And how did that make you feel? Very honored, very honored.
It was very sweet. Thanks. Thank you again for watching
my Ask Anything Chat. Thanks to Romeo and Most Requested
