Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, I'm Kara and you're watching my iHeartRadio Ask Anything Chat.
Thanks to Romeo and most requested Live for having me
on tonight to talk about my song Boulevard.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Okay, guys, let's get through the questions.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Bailey from Cincinnati, Ohio. If you were in a taxi
with my grandma and she asked you to tell her
what you did for your living, how would you explain, Bailey?
Speaker 2 (00:31):
I would tell her that I play music.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Through my flute, that I express my emotions with my
vocal chords as a singer songwriter. Lauren from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
How many chicken nuggets do you think you could eat
in one sitting? Unfortunately, only about six, maybe seven. It
(00:58):
depends on how good the sauce is.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Then you never know. Then we may get, you know,
to that seventh.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Haley from Greenville, North Carolina says, how did that name Caara?
Speaker 2 (01:13):
How'd you get the name Kara? Is it from a
family member?
Speaker 1 (01:16):
No, my parents named me Caara because it's Italian and
my last name is Italian and it's Kara with the sea,
which is the Italian way. Kelly from Chicago, Illinois, how
did Boulevard come together?
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Well? I basically wrote.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
A song about Los Angeles, which you see here behind me.
Hollywood sign is actually right over there somewhere.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
But I love this town.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
I came here over a decade ago, and you can.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Truly be anything you want anywhere.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
But Los Angeles is really great at help when you
explore that, and then you.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Can take that with you through life.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
So that's how Boulevard came together, and it's a great
opener to the album because it's not too.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Serious, you know.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Tara from Huntington says, if you were on a dating site,
what quality do you have that you would lead with?
H Well, I may not be being funny right now,
but I will say a lot of people tell me
that I'm funny, but you got to catch me in
(02:32):
the moment for those moments. You know, I'm only funny
when I feel like it, and it comes out naturally
when I feel like it.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
So maybe that's a good quality.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Stephanie from Savannah, Georgia, if you had to have a
theme song play whenever you entered a room, what would
it be?
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Huh? Well, I'm just gonna say the first thing that
came to mind, Cyndi Lauper.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Girls just want to have fun, right, But that's the
one that song always comes to mind.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
I have to cover it.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Peg from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. How did you get into the
music business. Well, I don't really think I got into it.
I've just always played music, sang written music.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
It's just a part of my being.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
And every single time that I tried to do something else,
somehow I end up back in music because I just
cannot help myself. It's like what I do, that's all
I do. And there's something really magical about creating.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
A song from scratch that is so special to me.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
That you can take an abstract art and emotion and
actually make a structure for it. It's pretty cool so
that other people can, you know, listen to it.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
I think that's amazing. So for me, I don't think
I like got into it.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
I've just always been doing music, so naturally opportunities came
my way because I was in the right.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Cities, and I think that's how it happened.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
I just always was working hard and because of that,
it leads you in the right direction.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
ROBERTA. From Detroit, Michigan.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
If you met a genie and he gave you three wishes,
only three, what would you choose.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
That's easy.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
A happy family, health and health for your family members
and for your pets and.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
So that we have happy health.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
And the third, well, I'm just chucking well on that. Happiness,
health and wealth if a genie because with the wealth
you can do a lot of things for others, to
be honest, and you can start foundations and get other
people to donate. And you know, it's not bad to
(05:13):
need money or to want money. It's not a bad thing, okay.
Violetta from Queens, New York. Favorite boulevard to drive on, Well, duh,
Hollywood Sunset Hollywood Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
That's it. That's what it's about. And that's it.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
That's all it's about. It's not those streets. We don't
want to sing about it. Cassie from Indianapolis, Indiana. What
was your first job? Oh, that's easy. I remember that
like the back of my hand. Taco Cabana in Corpus Christi, Texas.
(05:54):
We no longer have it, but that was my job.
I was in the drive through. And if anyone knows tacocobana,
they know how delicious it is when you're hungry and
on the run and running errands and stuff. So yeah,
I love my tacocobana and I ate a lot of it.
I ate a lot of it while I was working there.
(06:16):
You just didn't see me, but I was eating it.
While I was at the drive room.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Giving you your food. I was eating.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Andrea from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Who do you text
the most with? I honestly don't text a lot with
any with anyone.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
I'm not like a big Texter.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
I'll say that it overstimulates my brain and it hurts.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
It hurts. Jojo from Jacksonville, Florida. What can you cook? Well,
I'm always trying to learn.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
How to cook because I didn't really get to learn
how to cook, and so I'm always trying to learn
how to cook something.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
So that's good.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Lisa from Raleigh, North Carolina.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
What's your first cell phone? Uh? Probably one of those.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Ones where you open like this like an old school
little then you open.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
It and then after that it was a BlackBerry, that's right.
Jennifer from Dallas, Texas.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
What was the first song that you knew all the
words too? That's easy, Eagle Eye, Cherry Save Tonight and
Kiss by a rose Mate.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Is it kiss? Yes? Kiss? Kiss from a Rose by Seal. Yes.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
I love those two songs as a child and I
can't really get them out of my head. But apparently
I need to work on the title a little bit better.
But yes, Kiss from a Rose by Seal and Eagle
Eye Cherry Save Tonight. Thanks again for watching my Ask
Anything Chat. My new song is called Boulevard. Thanks to
Romeo and Most Requested Life for having me on tonight
(08:21):
to answer your questions.
