Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey everybody, I'm Laura Brina and you're watching my special
Christmas iHeartRadio, Ask Anything Chat.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Thanks to Romeo and everybody.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
And most Requested Live for having me on tonight to
talk about my song wish list. Let's get to the questions.
Thank you all so much for doing this. I love
answering all your fine questions. So Alberto from Dayton, Ohio,
if you could do a Christmas duet, who would you pick?
And which song? Oh, that's such a good one. I
(00:30):
love me some good Chris Stapleton. Oh, his voice, he
could sing the alphabet and I would just melt.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
It's so good. So I think I would love to
do Luke Christmas with him. Oh, such a great question.
I love that.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Cassie from Buffalo, New York. Describe how your home looks
with Christmas decorations. Cassie, I have to tell you it
looks like Christmas blew up in my house.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
I love Christmas.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
I would keep a Christmas up all year round because
it just makes me so happy. And I love Christmas music.
It just puts you in the spirit. So I love
that great question. How about Alex from New York City
favorite Christmas movie? Gosh, you know. I love all the
fun play Nations. There's so much fun those movies.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
But I love Home Alone. I mean, you can't. How
can you not love Home Alone?
Speaker 1 (01:24):
It's just ah. Liberty from Chicago, Illinois. Have you always
lived in Nashville or did you grow up in the
north with white Christmas? I am actually from Maryland. You know,
turn left of the cow right at the church and
keep ongoing directions on the middle of nowhere, So I
know about a white Christmas.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Oh, and I love it. I love making snow angels
and going sledding.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
And making a snowman. It's so much fun. But I
love Nashville, you know. I love living the dream. I
get to live in my suitcase and I get to
take adventures all over the world and it's so much fun.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
So it's great to and to be able to do that.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
And you all let me do that. So thank you
so much. I love you tons. Great question. I love
your name, Liberty. By the way, Jennifer from Dallas, Texas.
What was the first Christmas song that you knew all
the words to? Oh, my gosh, that's such a great question.
I would say probably Rootolph the Red Nose Reindeer. I
(02:22):
love that one or jingle bells. Both of them are
the funnest. And then Christina from Huntsville, Alabama, do you
do a traditional Christmas meal at your home?
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (02:36):
So Christina, you know that I've had the fire department
to my house twice because I tried to blow up
the house, I guess, or trying to cook a turkey
burger like I loved a garden by cooking probably is
not my strong suit. So we go over to my
cousin's house and she does such a great job, and
everybody kind of brings. It's kind of a pot luck,
so they all know I'm going to bring a pie,
(02:57):
and my mom she always brings the drinks and coke
and then sprite and all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
So yeah, although like my sister loves to caucus, it
kind of skipped around. So some of us cook and
some of us don't.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
So jan from Knoxville, Tennessee. What time on Christmas morning
do you unwrap your presents? You know, it's usually like
we all get so excited to come downstairs and see
that Sanna came, and so probably usually.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Around nine o'clock, but you know, every year changes.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Sometimes at seven am and sometimes it could be ten.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
You never know.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
It just depends on Christmas Eve and how much we
ate the night before with all of our cousins. So
it's a it's a big festive, fun time of year.
So you know, a good sleep and is always good too.
But I love me some Knoxville Oh so great. Uh.
I got to go there so many times with the
Air National Guard because that's where everybody goes when they're
(03:52):
first joining the Air National Guard. I love that such
a great place. So I love that you're from there,
chan Kelly from Austin, Texas. When I went to this
year for south By Southwest, first time playing there, what
a definitely on my bucket list, so that was awesome.
So do you have pictures of yourself sitting on Santa's
lap when you were a kid?
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Oh honey, I always.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Sit on Santa's laugh, I tell you I sit on
Santa's laugh now, although I'm probably a lot more well now,
I'd say I'm always naughty and nice.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
I mean, who wants to be good? But uh yeah,
I love me some good Santa.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
And yes, you know there I am with a with
no teeth and then I like it all him up
for Christmas my two front teeth that we all sing.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
But yes, I always sit on Santa's laugh. So great question.
And Aaron from Brenham, Texas.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
If you created an all girl group to do a
Christmas album with, who would you pick to be in it?
Speaker 2 (04:45):
That is an amazing question.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Oh, you know, I'd love to put Jennifer Hudson in there.
Kelly Clarkson myself, of course, I definitely, you know, I'd
love to put h I'd love to put my Nona
Judd in there too. I love that bluesy stuff. Maybe
some faith Hill. God, there's so many good ones. Ariana
Grande oh and chavel broone of course, so much fun.
(05:12):
But what a great, great question. That's like super amazing.
Nick from Jacksonville, Florida's Oh and girls, if you want
to make that happen. I'm all one point with that.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Nick from Jacksonville, Florida.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Oh, I got to play the Jacksonville, Oh, the Florida Theater.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
There was so great. I think that was the first
place that Elvis performed or something. I think it was
so amazing.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
You just sit on that stage and you're like, God,
there's so much history here. How did wishless come together.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Well, you know, being.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Born on Christmas and I just love the holidays. I
got together with my co writers Eric Sana Coola and
David Sharp and I was like, you guys, we need
to make a Christmas song. I love the holidays. I
want something fun, something that everybody can dance to and
have a good time with. And so, of course, you.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Know, Mariah Carey is all I want for Christmas is you.
It's definitely an inspiration.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
But we did our own little twist on it, and
there's some cool little pictures and things, and of course,
you know, tradition to our family is always to wear
our Christmas pajamas with our names on it, so that's
in there. And the little Grinch shows up too, which
you know, but it's so fun.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
So I hope you're dancing too it just like I am.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
So thank you, Nick. Great question Haley from Greenville's, North Carolina.
How did you get the name Laura? Is it from
a family member? Actually it is from a great question.
I got it from my grandmother, Laura Rebecca, So that
was my grandmother said, there we go, and yeah, I
(06:44):
like being Laura.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
It's kind of fun.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Although I was supposed to be a boy, so I
was supposed to be Brian. But I guess that's how
Brian came about, So you never know that I there
was was. I came out twenty six hours of labor.
They couldn't get my head out. Imagine that, because I mean,
look at all the hair from Dayton, Georgia love the
Wishless video. Where was it recorded? And did it take
a long time? Okay, so this is so funny. We
(07:08):
recorded it in Nashville in the middle, oh my god,
in the middle of the summer. It was so hot,
it was like ninety five. We were all disgusting and
there we are with snow falling and everything. But yeah,
we did it in a warehouse. Justin Key and his
whole team and tail Light. They had this unbelievable vision.
And I'll tell you what that is a little bit
of a naughty Santa in the video. But me and
(07:31):
my girls, we danced it up and it was such
a fun time and the band was great and just
a great treatment. And just like you know, these directors,
they come up with these faculous treatments and they take
the song to the to a whole new level. And
Justin and his team and tail Light totally did that,
so it was really great.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Kim from Salt Lake City, Utah. Oh, I have a
cousin that lives there. What's your favorite Christmas song? Well,
my favorite Christmas song is Blue Christmas. I love it
and I love it a little jazzy, bluesy, a little
fun like that. So love me a little Blue Christmas.
Jemma from Melbourne, Australia, love it so much fun. I
(08:12):
saw the artwork from Wishless. Did you do it or
did a friend? Oh my god, Jemma, I have to
tell you my stick characters have problems.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
My stick people are really bad. So no, you don't
want me to draw.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Actually, my friend Alex Gunderson drew drew me in a
wish list, which is so fun, and drew all the
candy cane and the chimney and everything. He did it,
and actually he's done all of our Christmas Christmas children's books,
all of the above. So he's just unbelievably talented. I
so wish I could draw. I wish I could draw,
(08:45):
and I could go keep on wishing and hoping and thinking.
But yeah, no, he's unbelievably talented. And really brought this
song to life. He really captured the fun and the
dancy and all of the above of the song. Alex
knocked it out of the park and Luke from North Augusta,
South Carolina.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Do you hang Christmas stockings? Oh?
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Honey, we hang Christmas stockings all over the place. I
love them. Got the birds names, I got my name,
and sometimes we have a little extra, so we get
a couple stockings each so you never know by the
I love the holidays. Thank you all so much for
