Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the NFL Draft.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
I mean to you live from the Virginia Mason Athletics Center.
This is the twenty twenty five NFL Draft and brought
to you by Corslight, by R and R Foundation specialist
but Queen Anne beer Hall, and by Fox thirteen on
Sports Radio ninety three point three KJR FM.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Well good Saturday afternoon. Our draft coverage continues here at
Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFL. I told you
it was awesome our draft coverage. I've been telling you
the whole time, and then it got verified Thursday Friday,
and here we are on Saturday to wrap it all up.
My name is Chuck Powell. We still have a tremendous
a list crew to take you through the end of
(00:51):
the NFL Draft as we pick it up at pick
one sixty two overall on the draft, we're midway through
the fifth round and the Seahawks are just a few
picks away. We got Jackson Feltz now sliding into the
controls back there at the studio. Jessmon McIntyre has been
with us throughout the course of the day. I got
Greg Bell floating around here, Rob rang floating around here.
(01:12):
Will probably Bug, Corbin Smith, and so much more to
take you through the end of the draft. And then
as soon as I'm done at three o'clock, it's Anders
Hurst and Christopher Kidd to recap, close it out. Listen
to John and Mike McDonald make sense of all of
these draft picks. That's the way we're gonna do it
here on a Saturday, and it is phenomenal to have
you with us. So there is a lot to recap here,
(01:35):
to get things started for those of us. For those
of you I should say that have been with us
since Ian and Rob and Jess came on the air
at nine o'clock, maybe you don't need a recap, but
a lot of people probably just popping on right now.
There's a ton to recap. I mean, despite the fact
that there's only been one Seahawk pick today, there have
been three moves. I mean, John Schneider's gone mad. Yeah,
(01:57):
he's like a monkey with a handgun. He's just like
the trader all over the place. Be careful, duck for cover,
get underneath the tables. John's trading today. So he's made
three trades and only one pick so far here on
day number three. That pick was one forty two overall,
(02:17):
Riley Mills out of Notre Dame, a defensive tackle slash
defensive end. You know, quarterbacks don't like to be called
game managers. Defensive linemen don't like to be called rotational players.
But that's probably what you're looking at in Riley Mills
out of Notre Dame, at least early in his career,
a rotational piece to add to the Seahawks defensive line
(02:39):
with the one hundred and forty second selection overall. But
there have been three trades, as I mentioned, pulled off
by the Seahawks today. They started the day with one
hundred and thirty seventh pick overall in the fourth round.
They traded that to New England for one forty four
and two thirty eight, So two thirty eight gave him
a third seventh round pick, and they only moved seven
(03:02):
spots down the board. Then all of a sudden, one
hundred and forty second pick pops up on the draft
board and the Seahawks move up with the Minnesota Vikings
trading away Sam Howell and the one hundred and seventy
second pick in round number five to Minnesota in exchange
for that one hundred and forty second selection, which ended
(03:24):
up being Riley Mills out of Notre Dame, who we've
already covered. So Sam Howell, that's a big story, which
we'll talk about in our three hours together, that he
is no longer a Seattle Seahawk. I hope they make
their face masks and helmets really big to accommodate his
giant face there in Minnesota. So Sam Howell is now
a Viking. Meanwhile, the Seahawks do a little maneuvering to
(03:47):
make sure they get Riley Mills. And then they had
the one hundred and forty fourth pick, if you remember,
and they decided to move that to Cleveland to move
down to the fifth round, one sixty sixth overall and
then get into the sixth round. They did not have
a sixth round pick at one hundred and ninety two,
so they added two more picks for the one to Cleveland,
(04:09):
and Cleveland use that for the seismic selection of Shador Sanders.
It finally happened. He went one forty fourth in the
draft in the fifth round. So those three moves have
been made. Where does that leave John and his crew
as they're finishing out the draft here today. Well, we've
got a pick coming up one sixty six. We are
(04:31):
four away from that, so one sixty three Carolina is
on the clock as we speak. We are four selections
away from the Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
And then we'll have a one seventy five is also
in this round, So then nine picks later, the Seahawks
should be picking again unless he decides to trade then
in the sixth round one ninety two. And at this
point we still have three seventh round selections two twenty three,
two thirty four, and two thirty eight as long as
my math is correct. So that's what's happened so far today.
(05:05):
We'll certainly get you set up for what the Seahawks
are going to do here. Four picks from now at
one sixty six will carry that live, we'll react to
it live, and we're going to hear from a lot
of different people before the show. I mean, we've got
six picks to deal with. I mean normally, when I'm
sitting in this seat on Saturday, which I do annually,
the reason that I really like this show and like
(05:28):
and sign up for this show is because it's sort
of a recap of everything while some activity is going
on now we've got just a lot of activity going on.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
You are out of the frying pan into the fire.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Right, and so the sidebar is going to be the recap.
We're going to try to get that in as much
as we can, but we're going to have a lot
of things to update here in our three hours, not
just the selections, but obviously the people who are selected
will hear from them. I'm sure their first interview says
Seattle Seahawks. So that's what's coming your here over the
(06:01):
course of the next three hours. But it's gonna be fun.
It's gonna be fun, and we will keep you up
to speed. Speaking of which, some other things non Seawk
related that have happened here on day number three if
you are just joining us, some standout names that you'll
probably recognized and maybe wondering where they went. Cam Skataboo
(06:22):
was the one hundred and fifth selection that was early
this morning to the New York Giants, and a great
reaction from him. What an unusual player. I mean, he's
got four inch tall legs and then the rest of
them is just torso power and everything else. But I
love it when I'm sorry, I'm a sucker for when
(06:42):
the prospect is overwhelmed by the moment and is just
reduced to tears and he can't even help it. He
wants to be a tough guy and he can't be
because the dream has been realized. I love it. It's
one of the reasons that I launched a holiday because
of that emotion that you get from this sporting event.
And so he was one that succumbed.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
The families being there celebrating with whether you're with your teammates,
your family, your coaches, whoever, you're surrounded by loved ones
who are nothing but elated for you. It's my favorite
part of the draft. And then when they eventually released
the calls that happened behind the scenes with the coaches
and gms, it's just wonderful. It makes me so happy.
(07:22):
And there's nothing but upside right now. It's like the
spring training of the NFL, you know, where everybody's oh
and oh, everybody's undefeated. Yeah, everybody's got upside right now,
and it makes me so happy.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Carolina just picked Mitchell Evans tied end out of Notre
Dame at one sixty three, so we're now just three
picks away from that. Jack Kaiser went one oh seven,
speaking of Notre Dame to Jacksonville, the guy that Notre
Dame coaching staff members think is going to be President
of the United States of America one day, Jack Kaiser,
he goes to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Dante Thornton DK metcalf Light,
(07:57):
the six foot four, six foot five inch of flying
wide receiver out of Tennessee, ended up going to Pete
Carroll and the Las Vegas Raiders at one oh eight
and the fourth round, So there's no doubt that Pete
was like, I used to have a really tall, fast
guy with abs that I like to throw the ball to.
Maybe I'd like that guy. So Dante Thornton dk light
(08:18):
goes to Vegas there at one o eight. Dion Walker,
the massive human out of Kentucky defensive tackle, goes to
the Buffalo Bills at one oh nine. Danny Stutsman somebody
that if you followed Draftmas and the Draftmas catalog, you
heard us talk about Danny Stutsman, linebacker out of Oklahoma,
runner up for the Butt Kiss Award this past year.
He went to the New Orleans Saints at won twelve.
(08:39):
Trevor at ten, who is of course the at TN
of Jacksonville's little brother out of Georgia. He goes to
the Carolina Panthers at one fourteen. In that round, Woody
Marks out of USC, the excellent pass catching running back
for the Trojans, goes to the Houston Texans, who have
gone out of their way in this draft to get j.
(09:00):
Stroud as many weapons in the passing game as possible.
They've taken two wide receivers out of Iowa State and
now a pass catching receiver excuse me, past catching running
back out of USC in Woody Marks. And then the
last one I'll mention from round four is Jack Sawyer,
the defensive end from the national champion Ohio State Buckeyes.
A guy with I mean, he's an intangible Wonderland Jack Sawyer.
(09:24):
I mean he's like everything that you kind of like
in a football player. Not surprised that the Pittsburgh Steelers
liked him, so they take him at one twenty three.
The Steelers, who still have not addressed their quarterback situation.
At least last I check, I'm pretty sure they've not
addressed it. There has been a little transition. I might
have missed it, but they still have not addressed their
(09:45):
quarterback situation in the draft, which is another monster story.
And then in the fifth round you've got Jordan James
out of Oregon ended up going to San Francisco at
one forty seven. That's one of the names. I could
go through a few others. But we're getting closer and
closer to the pick at one sixty six.
Speaker 6 (10:03):
Let me quickly jump in, Chuck and let you know
that the Seahawks are officially on the clock at number
one sixty six. So Chargers, apparently the pick is in
and the Seahawks are moments away, all right.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
So they have they have decided to go ahead and picked.
They have told John you need to stop. You need
to stop what you are doing right now. You have
traded enough, young man.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
There's only so much dress left.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
JUHNP, Can we just pick somebody all day?
Speaker 6 (10:27):
Technically technically they do still have a moment to trade out,
but like, at a certain point, how many more picks
do you need?
Speaker 5 (10:33):
On day three, just because it was being reported everywhere,
but Minnesota was on the clock, on the clock, on
the clock, on the clock, and it did take a while.
So that says that before these things go through, it
is until they get to the podium where it's officially
(10:54):
yeah right, that they could trade.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Let me tell you something, if anybody could pull it off,
it's that guy. Oh yeah, boy love a trade bid.
He loves a trade. So we'll see if we get
to Now, what are the Seahawks going to be looking for.
They still have not drafted a cornerback, which I think
has been a rising thought here in the last couple
of weeks that they would be interested in a cornerback
(11:16):
at some point in the draft. They usually do get one.
There is also that speed wide receiver which we've been
talking about since Round one. Would they go with a
speed wide receiver all the way back to the eighteenth
pick in the draft? So that still has not been satisfied,
not through the draft anyway. So I would think that
(11:37):
that you know, positional need is something that maybe they're
invested in. But let's face it, I mean, we are
you know, I'm father draft miss you know, it's my pseudonym,
you know, you know, people recognize that they're gonna have
to make cards. But so you know, if this is Christmas,
I mean we really are to kind of the socks
and underwear portion of the draft. Practical things that you
(11:59):
need and you.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
Get older, those are what I want.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
I'm with you, I agree, and I believe it or not.
That's what I think. NFL general managers really like picking
out the socks and the underwear, just some practical choices
that are made at this time of the draft. And so, yeah,
maybe not the big items that you had on your
wish list at the beginning of this process, but socks
and underwear are like legit, you need those every holiday.
(12:24):
And so this is kind of where we are, and
we have three seventh round selections and that's usually like
the batteries included portion of draft miss where you just
you know, mom and dad have gone ahead and wrapped
the batteries to the toy that you got earlier in
the draft, and so we've got three packages of batteries
to unravel.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
This.
Speaker 6 (12:43):
Carson was really good batteries that last. Great batteries didn't
last a long time, Chris Carson batteries. But boy, the
Chris Carson branded batteries were were really good for a while.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Oh yeah, I mean they weren't energizer perfect.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
Yes, it was those like quadruple as you can't find
that's right, that's right.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
The kind of thing that can like run your car
for a little while if you need them to. But
they don't. You're right, they didn't last very long. But yes,
so we got the battery portion coming up. But I belie,
all right, the pick is in. Do we need to
go to the podium.
Speaker 6 (13:17):
I don't think they're going to podiums anymore, but we'll check.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
When I see it come across, I'll let you know.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
Okay, chargers are at the podium right now.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
For the chargers. Just Gadds the second out of Syracuse.
I was a big fan of Rondez Gadget in the
first huge fan.
Speaker 7 (13:34):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
And so the Seahawks are on the clock right now.
So we're going to get a pick here in a moment,
and then we will have emotional reactions to it here
in a matter of seconds. So we'll see what John's
got up his sleeve. But he is going to make
a selection here at round five, one sixty six overall
so far, Grace Abel's been added to this team. Nick
(13:58):
emon Wari out of South Carolina. The cam Chancellor slash
Earl Thomas had a baby safety was taken in round
number two thirty fifth overall. Also in the second round,
Elijah Arroyo out of Miami, the tight end. Jalen Milroe
third round, ninety second pick out of Alabama. He came
in day number two. And then so far today Riley
(14:20):
Mills out of Notre Dame the defensive tackle slash defensive end.
And so we wait on the fifth, excuse me, sixth
name added to the Seahawks roster here via the draft.
It is coming here in a matter of seconds, so
we will pass that along to you. But that's what's
been done so far, and just to kind of give
(14:40):
you an idea, I think it's the most fascinating first
five picks of the draft since I've been here ten
years covering this team and what John Schneider does during
the draft, and we certainly will talk about what makes
it fascinating throughout our three hours together, but that's how
I would explain it. So we did get a wide receiver.
So the pick is in the selection is Tory Horton
(15:02):
out of Colorado State? Is the selection here? Tory Horton.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
I believe that is someone that Rob rang had his
eye on earlier. Today he doesn't, that is true, but
when it came to wide receivers, he specifically mentioned Colorado
State too, but there were a few obviously the Seahawks
kind of guy.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
You can see him up there on the highlights right
now playing.
Speaker 5 (15:24):
Lacrosse as well, that dual sport athlete that they really
like there.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
So you know, Jim Brown played the lacrosse in football
and look what happened to him. Pretty good, pretty good
career from that guy. Uh So, Tory Horton, a wide
receiver out of Colorado State the selection here. Uh and
and so we will try to get some information on him,
and certainly going to be hearing from him here in
a little bit as well. But that's the pick. Let
(15:51):
me read the pre draft analysis and I'm not gonna
reveal the source I'm using, but it's the first one
that just popped up. Horton missed most of the twenty
twenty fourth season with a knee injury, but he caught
one hundred and sixty seven passes for twenty two hundred
and sixty seven yards and sixteen touchdowns in his first
two seasons at Colorado State. He ran well at the
(16:11):
combine with a four to four to one in the
forty that's what we said, speed receiver. If we would
have gotten you know, somebody running a four to eight,
I would have been surprised there. So for four to
one that speed, he easily gets behind the coverage on tape.
Horton catches zenstride and quickly reaches his top speed. After
the catch, he breaks some tackles with contact balance and
(16:33):
can make defenders miss as well. Horton is a savvy
route runner who sets up his brakes and changes speed well.
He does a good job of getting behind linebackers, but
in front of safeties against zone looks. He also uncovers
when the quarterback gets flushed. That's from Steve Munch from ESPN,
So I didn't necessarily seek that out, but it was
(16:54):
the one closest to my fingertips. So I wanted to
get you some analysis that I couldn't personally provide of
this selection. But Troy Horton's six foot three, one hundred
and ninety six pounds out of Colorado State, so not
just a fast receiver, but some size to this guy
as well. Pretty slender at sixty three, one ninety six,
but there you go. Tory Horton the selection out of
(17:16):
Colorado State here at pick number one, sixty six and
So the Seahawks now has six selections in the draft.
Gray's Able, Nick Emon Worri, Elijah Arroyo, Jalen Milroe, Riley Mills,
and now Tory Horton is added to the group here
from the Colorado State Rams. You know, there was a
Millon that spent some time at Colorado State. So I
(17:39):
wonder if Hugh knows a little thing or two about
Tory Horton.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
We're going to see if we can get in touch
with him.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Mari.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
Yeah, shot him a little note.
Speaker 5 (17:46):
I know that he isn't physically here today, he might
be traveling, but we're going to.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
Track him down.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Well, one way or the other, that guy hasn't done
enough for us the last couple of weeks. Seriously, Yeah,
snap to it, Millan. But Drew Kendall, by the way,
just went to the Philadelphia Eagle. Interesting because that's Pete Son,
Pete Kendall, former Seahawk. So he just went one sixty
eighth out of Boston College, somebody that we had mocked
on the Morning show to the Seahawks. We were kind
(18:13):
of all in agreement. That sounded like a Seahawks pick.
They still have not taken an offensive Lineman selection other
than Gray's Abel. Maybe the decision was, no, we have depth.
What we needed was somebody that we could plug into
the starting lineup or felt comfortable about plugging into the
starting lineup. We took care of that in the first round.
I kind of felt when this process started that there
(18:35):
was a chance that they might take two, three, four
bytes at that apple with ten selections at offensive line.
But so far just one big giant bite back at eighteen,
taking Gray's Abel out of North Dakota State. So there
you are. You are now up to speed. We will
slow things down and have plenty of time to evaluate
(18:55):
and analyze everything that's been going on. But as we
get our portion of the draft coverage underway, I think
that gets you up to speed on everything that's going on.
I thought that was pretty convenience recap for you.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
I think that was great, very comprehensive. It sounds like
we're actually going to hear from Tory right away.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
So yeah, you get it done, all right. Tory Horton,
Colorado Steak, fifth round pick.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
Sometimes it takes a minute to get the connections. I
blame Muler, Definitely, she's got too much aura about her.
She's getting the signal.
Speaker 8 (19:35):
In a way.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Now get your fingers out of the way, Corbyn, your
thumb's on them. On the Mike Henderson, Bob can Doote's
hair looks great, by the way, Oh my gosh, shocking white.
Speaker 5 (19:52):
It's one of the most recognizable heads in the media room,
you know when you take a picture.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
I love his frock. You're really really into it, very yeah. Yeah,
and them Houser is bigger than he used to be.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
He's kind of jazz.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Did he get a bow flex? Yeah, I noticed on
the Juice Hawk floggers on the Juice. I think he
starts fights with the Dallas Cowboys and now he's like
in the gym all day long. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
Yeah, Well, you know he's got this full time.
Speaker 5 (20:19):
Usually people go in the opposite direction when they're in
the media full time.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
Yeah, he's actually gone in the direction.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
He looks buff. Yeah, looks really good. He shook his
head at me like he was a dismissive of my commentary.
But don't think he's very comm Yeah, exactly. You can't
get a bowflex like that and then not expect people
to notice when you're a little more ripped than you've
been in past drafts. So, yeah, they're all gathered the
Seattle media horde, as I affectionately referred to them.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
We did here's the telltale ring. But maybe they're trying
to read that.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
I'm sorry, Sorry about that, America toy.
Speaker 9 (20:55):
This is Chris with the Seahawks PR staff.
Speaker 10 (20:56):
Can you hear me.
Speaker 9 (20:59):
Looking to see? Man, I've got our media here where
you go.
Speaker 6 (21:01):
They're gonna fire for a few questions at you all right?
Speaker 5 (21:04):
Sounds good son site you most about joining the Seahawks.
Speaker 10 (21:09):
Uh, just the environment and the culture that they got
going on over there, you know, being on the phone, Uh,
just getting that call, just me everything, I mean, you know,
me taking that visit, the coaches. Uh, you know, they
all liked me over there.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
I loved the.
Speaker 10 (21:24):
Coaches and you know, just the whole atmosphere and just
the you know, just the program that they got going
over there. So you know, it's it's very exciting for
me to go out there, and you know, that's just
what I could do.
Speaker 11 (21:35):
Tory, sir, He said, did you have an official visit
out here in Seattle?
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Oh? Yes I did.
Speaker 10 (21:40):
It was a great visit out there.
Speaker 11 (21:42):
Actually, what'd you think of Seattle's at the first time
you've been out here or he's been here before.
Speaker 10 (21:47):
Oh, yeah, that was the first time I've been out there.
You know, it's not too far from home. I feel
like it's a a great area. The facility is super nice.
Speaker 7 (21:55):
Uh.
Speaker 10 (21:56):
You know, it's just everything that you know, you can
really dream of. You know, very nice out there.
Speaker 12 (22:01):
I love a lot what it looks looks like you're
healthy from the knee issue, given what you what you
were able to do as a combine.
Speaker 10 (22:09):
Uh huh so uh, yeah, I feel the knee injury
is uh is doing you know, really good. I went
out there and you know, run the forty Uh. I
felt pretty confident the kneed the knee is just only
getting better. So uh, you know, I feel great when
I'm at right now, and you know, I feel no
set back and dread to go for it.
Speaker 5 (22:29):
Uh.
Speaker 12 (22:30):
You know, you've been in a pretty competitive blocker as
a receiver as well. It's a big part of Click
Office receivers. We talked about other parts of the game
as receivers.
Speaker 10 (22:39):
Yeah, you know, just uh, you know, my awareness on
the seal, you know, my my rock running ability to
find you know, open holes or you know, the soft
coverages and zones and then just my versatility to you know,
make the first man miss you know, uh, just make
something out of nothing, you know, just always having that
capability of you know, just uh you know taking those
(23:00):
will yards or you know, just those big hit gamers
and just uh you know, just having that whole.
Speaker 11 (23:06):
Complete set who's a wide receiver that you've enjoyed watching
or maybe patterning, patterning your game after.
Speaker 10 (23:13):
Uh yeah, I like to watch a lot of Davante Adams. Uh.
I feel like, you know, he played with a chip
on his shoulder. He's been doing it for you know,
a real long time him, you know, come out in
frontal state. They just kind of have that inspirational on me.
So not much a quite a bit of him. So no,
uh you know you're trying to you're trying to follow
some of the greats.
Speaker 13 (23:33):
Is chip on your shoulders a way that you would
describe yourself and what motivates you?
Speaker 10 (23:40):
Uh yeah, you know, just uh just having that, you know,
people just having that down on me, you know, just
always growing up, I feel like I was never highly
looked at and you know I always just you know
carry myself in uh you know, a standard where uh
you know, it's always being you know, the best that
I could be. So you know, I just try.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
To carry that with me.
Speaker 10 (24:02):
And that's just that trip I got of, you know,
going out there and showing people what.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
I can do.
Speaker 9 (24:07):
Sy, what do you feel your best skill is as
a receiver?
Speaker 13 (24:11):
Uh?
Speaker 10 (24:11):
I probably say my you know, my my vertical threat
and then you know, just uh my run after catch.
I feel like I have to make a lot of
people miss uh when I got the ball in my hands,
and then you know, I feel like my hands is
uh you know, something that you know I take pride in,
and you know I try to just go out there
and catch every single walked on my way.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
You choice the.
Speaker 9 (24:29):
Knee injury, you said, what.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
I'm sorry?
Speaker 9 (24:33):
What was the knee injury in October?
Speaker 10 (24:36):
Uh, it's just a lco hamstring. Uh kind of just
came off to uh the ball, had the surgery done.
Uh you know the surgery and UH confirmed with me saying,
you know this is you know, it's not a tear.
So it's something that's gonna recover real, you know, real quick,
and you know it just won't be no no longevity
uh issue uh down the road. So you know I'm
really confident.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
I feel really good.
Speaker 9 (24:57):
When were you running again?
Speaker 10 (25:00):
I want to say I started running two weeks before
the draft, before the before them.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
Or drafted the combine.
Speaker 10 (25:11):
Yeah, there, two weeks before the combin.
Speaker 9 (25:13):
You run there? You just left with the four four one?
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Uh?
Speaker 10 (25:18):
I did the four FOURT one. Just kind of wanted
to focus on my te directions and things like that
on they So I did Ralphs did the broad jump.
Speaker 9 (25:27):
What's the best forty you've run before?
Speaker 10 (25:30):
The best forty I've had was a four three five.
Speaker 9 (25:35):
So yeah, I was gonna ask.
Speaker 11 (25:36):
I mean, considering you were only running a couple of
weeks before the combine, do you do you feel like
they're If not for the injury, you could have run
a better time there?
Speaker 10 (25:43):
Oh yeah, absolutely, I knew I had more in the tank. Unfortunately,
That's just where I was at during that time, and
just that competitive mindset in me was, you know, is
to go out there and compete. So uh me going
out there and competing. Uh I just feel like that,
you know, just installed in me. So you know, I
know I could have got a better time, but I'm
(26:04):
happy with what I got and I'm happy I ran
out there.
Speaker 9 (26:06):
When did you run the four three five?
Speaker 3 (26:08):
What year?
Speaker 10 (26:10):
Uh? I ran it during my uh well during the training.
Uh so like that that week before I flew out
to Innneapolis.
Speaker 9 (26:18):
So post surgery you ran at fourth three five.
Speaker 10 (26:21):
Yeah, it was a it was after before surgery I
was hit in four three seven.
Speaker 9 (26:26):
Did the Seahawks mention that whether you could factor end
up being a returner at all?
Speaker 3 (26:30):
I know you did some of that in college.
Speaker 10 (26:32):
Uh yeah, we had some thoughts about that, and that's
uh something that we were for sure looked into. You know,
we uh at uh you know, uh some some great
meets about you know, if I want to return up
the next level, So you know, uh that's all uh
in there and open to it.
Speaker 9 (26:47):
Yes, sir, kickoffs? Do you do both punts and kickoffs?
Speaker 7 (26:54):
Or uh?
Speaker 10 (26:56):
I was uh just punt return I'm open to both. Well, yeah,
I mean just p return.
Speaker 12 (27:02):
Where you had a thirty seven and a half inch
vertical and you're sixty two and you've been a great
contested catcher. Keep talking a little bit about like how
long has that been something you've always been good at
or something that you learned along the way.
Speaker 10 (27:15):
Uh yeah, I've kind of always been good, you know,
just being insure of my hands and uh, you know,
just having that athletic ability to know jump. I just
feel like that was kind of just in my jenes
just you know, working at it even more. I just
feel like it just normally got better and better. So, uh,
(27:35):
it's just something that's kind of I've always had and
you know, just trying to perfect.
Speaker 11 (27:40):
Tori said that you you enjoyed your conversations with the
coaches when you were here for your thirty Uh, how
did that process go for you, particularly talking to the
offensive coaches and where you fit in as far as
the scheme here, it was it was great.
Speaker 10 (27:54):
You know, they know, they all have a passion for
the game and you know when it's to me, you know,
they kind of you know, they had that culture that
you know everybody is is on that same page and
you know everybody's there for one goal and you know
that's the main thing of you know, uh, you know,
being on the team, and you know they looked at
my game and saw a lot of good things that
(28:15):
they could you know, use and know that I can
bring to the team to help attribute. So all the
talks and you know, just the music coature, they're.
Speaker 12 (28:23):
All went great, someone to see your best game you
played in college? Where were you pointing to watch it?
Speaker 9 (28:30):
Which game?
Speaker 10 (28:32):
You probably say that Colorado twenty twenty three, that's a
pretty good game. Is televised, like a lot of people watching,
So that's pretty good.
Speaker 9 (28:40):
What did you like about that performance for yourself?
Speaker 10 (28:44):
Uh, you know, just being that underdog, just having that
you know, no name mentality. I was never the flashy
guys who wanted to be out there. I always stayed
under the under the you know, the you know, in
the back way, the shadows, being that you just kind
of that overlooked person just going out there to dominate,
and you know it's kind of turning their heads all
(29:05):
over the know, all over the people watching that game.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
Saying who is this kid?
Speaker 10 (29:10):
And you know, that's just something that I always go
out and know, I try to do. I do what
I could, you know, the stuff that I could do
and control. That's what I try to go out there
and you know, do the best of So just me
just being out underdog and having that mentality of you know,
just trying to dominate every rep and every play. It
just kind of shows.
Speaker 9 (29:31):
Where are you talking to us? From Tori.
Speaker 10 (29:35):
Pres No no, thank you, sir.
Speaker 9 (29:37):
In your childhood home.
Speaker 10 (29:40):
Yeah, Sair, I'm back home.
Speaker 9 (29:41):
Yeah, congratulations to see here, all right, thank you, all right,
there you go.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Tory Horton the fifth round selection for the Seahawks one
sixty six the overall. Some things stood out about that
four three five forty was his best thirty six inch
vert for a guy that's sixty three hundred and ninety
six pounds and put up some production while at Colorado State.
Very very interesting. I think I'm liking that. And I
don't know who he was referring to on that Colorado
(30:09):
team that didn't go under the radar, didn't try to
fly under the radar. I wonder who he's discussing there.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Yea.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
But yeah, we're three picks away from another selection for
the Seahawks had one seventy five overall, so I think
we got time to break here a little bit and
then we'll come back and make sure we hit it.
I don't want to be critical right off the bat,
I just got started, but I felt like the Seattle
media members were really nosy. I think that they pried
(30:39):
a lot trying to get into Tory's business there. That
seemed odd to me. But all right, we'll take a break.
We'll be back in a moment. More draft coverage coming
your way. Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM. Welcome
to the NFL Draft.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Now back to the Virginia Mason Athletics Center and the
twenty twenty five NFL Draft, and brought to you by
Coors Life, rn R Foundation specialist the Queen Anne beer Hall,
and by Fox thirteen on Sports Radio ninety three point
three kJ r FM.
Speaker 10 (31:10):
Just the environment and the colture that they got going
on over there, you know, being on the phone, just
getting that call, just me there, Tony me, you know,
me taking that visit the coaches. You know, they all
liked me over there. I loved the coaches and you know,
just the whole atmosphere and just the you know, just
the program that they got going over there. So you know,
(31:32):
it's very excit for me to go out there, and
you know, that's just what I could do.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
That is the voice Tory Horton, the most recent pick
by the Seahawks here in the twenty twenty five NFL Draft.
Good afternoon to you. Welcome to day three of our
coverage here at Sports Radio ninety three point three KJR FM,
the greatest radio station in the galaxy. Tory Horton the
one hundred and sixty sixth pick overall, fifth round to
(31:58):
the Seahawks from Colorado State Wide Receiver and joining us
here at our set. He stepped away for a moment
and then we just pulled him back in. It's our
NFL Draft expert, the great Rob Ring is with us.
What do you think, Tory Horton?
Speaker 14 (32:12):
I like this selection. I was kind of been pounding
the table for him a little bit here over the
last actually a couple of rounds. Now to me, Tory
Horton very much checks the box that we've been talking
about that the Seahawks needed somebody with size and speed
at the outside receiver position. They also needed a return guy,
and Tory Horton can do all of those things. Basically,
(32:33):
just a shade under six foot three, one hundred and
ninety six pounds ran a four to four to one
officially at the combine with a one point five to
three second ten second split, So he is very very
quick off of the off the line of scrimmage and
then into his route. He is a little bit slim.
One hundred and ninety three pounds on that six foot
three excuse me, one hundred and ninety six pounds on
(32:55):
that six foot three frame. But at the same time,
I think that when you think of some of the
wide receivers in the NFL who can just absolutely accelerate
downfield and be a big play target, then Tory Horton
can do that. And I mentioned the return of Bill
to check. This is a guy that had a punt
return for a touchdown each of his first three seasons
(33:17):
in college football. He was originally at Nevada then transferred
to Colorado State. Like the pick of the defensive tackle
from Notre Dame a couple of moments or a couple
of hours ago, he is basically on a bargain basement
because of the fact that he is coming off of
a knee injury. But at the same time, I do
believe that obviously the Seahawks believe that he is very
(33:40):
much on his way to your recovery. And so that's
why I think that this is going to be an
excellent value selection for the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
We are three and a half minutes away from when
the Seahawks have to make the next selection. They are
on the clock right now. Denzel Burke just came off
the board cornerback out of Ohio State to the Arizona Cardinals.
So Seahawks are expected to pick next the pick in
We'll get that here in a matter of seconds, I'm sure.
But there was a sequence of events that took place
(34:08):
earlier with three different trades that were made, and we
kind of speculated that maybe Eric i am Meyer, Ale
Meyer and Meyer out of Stanford. Yep, he was maybe
somebody that the Seahawks were interested in. And then when
he came off the board right before them, then they
moved out. So compare Horton to what might have been
(34:29):
if that speculation is true.
Speaker 10 (34:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (34:32):
With elk au Manor, he is a guy that is
not quite as fast, and I believe he ran like
a four four five or so at the in the
forty yard dash, but he wasn't nearly as quick in
that first ten yard split. And so I like his
ability in jump ball situations. That's one of the ways
(34:52):
in which he excels. I actually used the comparison to
a DeVante Adams with him in that didn't necessarily have
elite straight line speed, but he can have a defender
draped over him. And he is still able to come
down with the catch. That to me is one of
his strengths. But again, he wasn't a guy who is
able to consistently run away from people, didn't have the
(35:15):
special team's expertise that the Tory Horton does. I like
au manner, as I mentioned, I just compared him to
an all pro, you know. But at the same time,
to me, Tory Horton's consistency and his special team's ability,
his straight line speed I think are reasons why he
is actually, in some ways even an even better fit
for a Seahawks team that needed help not only at
(35:37):
receiver but in a return game as well.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
All right, so here comes the selection for the Seahawks,
and it's good that we got Rob here to talk
about Tory Horton because we can just get immediate reaction
from our NFL draft expert here in a matter of seconds.
But yes, Io Manor from Stanford Gwint earlier in the draft,
maybe they Seahawks are interested, but they do get the
(36:01):
six foot three inch, one hundred ninety six pound Tory
Horton out of the Colorado State here in the fifth round,
one sixty six overall one seventy five just about ready
to be made here and then we'll get Rob's reaction.
Selection is in and that they've been teasing us for
a while now. It's kind of unfair, don't you know
(36:21):
that we have to stretch in radio? Come on now, TV,
let's go. But yeah, here we go. Oh look who
it is. It's Mustache himself. It's the you know, it's
the factory worker out of Alabama, Robbie Oost.
Speaker 14 (36:39):
Yeah, that one is actually not one of the ones.
I have his name off the top of my head.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
He's a tight end out of Alabama. He ran like
a nine to five forty at the combine, and yet
a lot of people think he might have a fall
back in his future. It was some stuff that the
obviously Clint Kubiak's been talking about. But they take him
here in the fifth. How about this?
Speaker 3 (37:01):
Well?
Speaker 14 (37:01):
And I think that again tight end is a position
of concern for this team, and not because of, you know,
the selection of Elijah Royal. I think is is more
of a seam stretcher, a guy who might be able
to slide outside to play that that ex position at
the wide receiver. With this young man from Alabama, he
(37:23):
is more as you just point out Chuck more of
like a fullback, possible Faroh Brown type of of a
running or a blocking specialist at the line of scrimmage.
He is big, he is physical, he is I shouldn't
say big. He's six foot three, whereas a lot of
tight ends are more than that six foot five, six
foot six range. But but he is, I believe, two
(37:46):
seventy pounds, and this is a big, thick, wide guy.
And so again it's it's his power at the point
of attack. To me, is one of the things that
makes him really intriguing. I thought that that was the
direction that Seahawks were going to be going, if they
were gonna select a time end, I thought that they
would be looking for more of a blocking specialist. That's
why the selection of Elijah Royo really kind of caught
(38:06):
me off guard. That's two tight ends now, exactly, and
this is not a class of tight ends that I
really was in love with. I thought there's a lot
of people who who really did like this tight end class.
I thought that after the top four, Elijah Royo being
that fourth tight end to me was you know, of course,
Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland. I really like the Mason
(38:27):
Taylor from LSU and then Elijah Royal to me was
kind of the lottery ticket because he's coming off the injury,
but when healthy, he is spectacular. With this young man
from Alabama, I mean it's it's kind of like the
old school Alabama, the Nick Saban version of Alabama, rather
than the Kaelin de Born. This is not the seam stretcher.
This is the people mover at the last.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
Yeah, I mean this is this is the guy that
it looks like the guy that delivered your refrigerator to you.
That's what he That's what he looks like. I mean,
you're watching the combine and what is why is he even?
Why did they let the guy who's you know, handling
the equipment at the television run of forty and they're like, no,
that's a tight end out of Alabama Robbie ootst Jackson.
Speaker 6 (39:08):
Yeah, really quick, guys. The Seahawks are officially listing Oots
as a fullback. So officially being listed as a full back,
Get that exactly?
Speaker 14 (39:16):
I guess Truck right there. I mean he nailed that
from the jump. I mean, so again, this is a
player who is pretty intriguing for this Seahawks squad that
definitely needed help at the full back position. Mike McDonald
Clint Kubiak both had acknowledge as much that was going
to be a big time need for them.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
All right, So yeah, a full back here. I think
this one's you, Greg Yeah, Greg Bell.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
The Seahawks are calling him a full back.
Speaker 8 (39:40):
Yeah, a two hundred and seventy five pounds, six foot
five full back, but they aren't even considering him tight end.
So he'll join Brady Russell, who was recently converted from
tight end to fullback, as they are two options for
Clint Kubiak, who said he was going to have a
fullback in his offense just like you did in New Orleans.
Two hundred and seventy four pound about that will probably
probably blocking more than Well.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
There mustache weighs forty five pounds by itself. I don't
know if you've seen it. Yeah, yeah, he'll probably keep
that here too. Everything. It's like Tom Sellick's mustache stacked
on top of Sam Elliot's mustache.
Speaker 8 (40:11):
But again, the Seahawks, again this draft going straight to
need from the first pick all the way through the latest.
One wide receiver, a six to wide receiver in Horton
and then the two hundred and seventy four pound fullback.
But there have been injury issues today with the guys
they picked Mills. Of course, the ACL tear in December.
(40:31):
Horton had what he described to us as an LCL
and a meniscus injury in October, Colorado State, the end
of his season. He had surgery, but he said it
was not torn. He was started running again in February,
two weeks before the Combine, and in that training for
that he was in a four to three five. At
the Combine, he ran a four to four to one,
(40:52):
but he ran a four through five two weeks after
this surgery for an LCL and a meniscus injury in
his right knee. So they had Mills in for a
top thirty visit. They had Horton in for a top
thirty visit because of those medical concerns, and obviously the
Seahawks medical stuff got what they wanted to hear.
Speaker 1 (41:07):
Yeah, So do we know the pronounce is it oosts oosts?
Speaker 14 (41:12):
Oots?
Speaker 3 (41:12):
Right?
Speaker 1 (41:13):
Oots? We thought it was oots.
Speaker 4 (41:15):
It is officially from the Seahawks.
Speaker 15 (41:16):
It is oots oots all right, hes oots. They did
it again all right, Greg, thank you very much. Greg Bell,
our Seahawks insider here work in the war room as
well with us. All right, So Robbie Oots the selection
at five round five, pick one, seventy five full back
(41:38):
out of Alabama.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
I mean, they they said that they're and are going
to entertain this. I mean, I think a lot of
teams are kind of going back to the full back
right now in the National Football League, which is kind
of fun, I think, But it's the type do you want?
The type that can you know, there's a difference between
a use check, you know, and a Darryl Johnston versus
(42:02):
some fullbacks are just there to block. Yeah, I have
a feeling this one's just there.
Speaker 14 (42:07):
To block, I believe so. And again, one of the
other fun things about this is the idea that you know,
of course, he's got an awful lot of familiarity blocking
for Jalen Milroe already. And so again, if there is
going to be some packages here where you have Milroe, Oh,
it sounds like we have that the podium. Robbie Oots
might be joining us.
Speaker 1 (42:27):
All right, all right, Rob rang with us. Here's Robbie
Oots on the line to Seattle Man Our media here,
they're gonna fire off a few questions at you. Okay,
Robbie put your level of excitement and being able to
join the.
Speaker 7 (42:42):
Seahawks, Oh my goodness, I can't even put words to it.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
It's just a dream come true. I still I'm still
in disbelief.
Speaker 7 (42:50):
It hasn't hit me yet, but I'm just so excited
to get out there and just just just live out
this dream, make the most of my opportunity.
Speaker 4 (43:00):
Had you had conversations with any of the coaches that
have been.
Speaker 16 (43:02):
Out for a visit, No, no, ma'am, I have not
been out on a visit, but I have got a
chance to really talk to the running back coach, coach
Paula Malou about kind of my.
Speaker 7 (43:14):
Role as a fullback and the things we'd be doing,
and he's just really excited to get his hands on
me and work with me make this transition to the
next step.
Speaker 9 (43:23):
How much fullback have you done?
Speaker 10 (43:27):
Well?
Speaker 7 (43:28):
You know, I've played a lot of hvacs, a lot
off the ball stuff, which correlates, but in terms of
traditional IE formation, I played a little bit freshman and
sophomore year with coach O'Bryan offensive coordinator, but not I
didn't really get too many reps in the past two years,
but I would like to think I'm.
Speaker 3 (43:47):
More than natural at it.
Speaker 9 (43:48):
How would you describe your style of play?
Speaker 3 (43:54):
I'd say physical and selfless.
Speaker 12 (43:57):
If you could choose between scoring a touchdown and making
a block, which do you pick?
Speaker 17 (44:00):
I take block all day, just opening up and putting
my body on the line and seeing another teammates succeed
for what, you know, something that I did that gives
me more satisfaction than catching a touchdover.
Speaker 8 (44:13):
When NFL teams talk to you, how many wanted you
exclusively as a fullback as a Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (44:21):
Just a couple.
Speaker 18 (44:22):
I mean, there was only a handful of teams that
were really interested in me to begin with, just this
kind of how I am as a player. But it
was about half and half in terms of fullback versus
kind of.
Speaker 3 (44:33):
The blocking tighter.
Speaker 11 (44:35):
Those conversations that you had with coach Paulamalu, what do
he cite specifically as reasons why they were excited about
you playing the fullback.
Speaker 1 (44:43):
Position of this offense.
Speaker 7 (44:45):
Yeah, he was excited because they're making this transition to
more of a physical football team that would run the ball,
and he thinks of my identity as a player correlates
perfectly with how they want to be as an offense
this next year.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
So he thinks the transition will be great for me
given the fact that there's not very many fullbacks in
the NFL.
Speaker 5 (45:04):
Is it a challenge to figure out how to pattern
your game after or to even find examples of that?
Speaker 7 (45:12):
Oh yeah, I mean yeah you can a lot of
the times I'd like to look at Patrick McCart just
based on physical similarities.
Speaker 3 (45:19):
But uh, I mean it's more of a self.
Speaker 7 (45:22):
Reflection type thing. You know, what can I get better at?
What are my strengths and weaknesses? And uh, you know,
really working with coaches to better yourself. So there's kind
of two factors that.
Speaker 9 (45:36):
Uh, do you think you already has a better mustache?
Speaker 3 (45:41):
We'd be imperfect.
Speaker 9 (45:43):
So you're taping that, I'm sure right?
Speaker 7 (45:46):
Oh yeah, we're rocking with.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
It bringing it is.
Speaker 17 (45:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (45:49):
Well, Robbie, you have a teammate of yours coming up
this way too. What can you tell us about Jalen Milroe.
Speaker 7 (45:55):
Oh, Jalen Milroe is.
Speaker 3 (45:56):
Gonna work his ass off. I mean, nobody works harder
than that guy.
Speaker 7 (45:59):
Nobody gets there earlier, Nobody least later, and he's going
to make the most of his opportunity. And I'm just
I'm thrilled to be with my boy man.
Speaker 3 (46:08):
We're rolling in.
Speaker 7 (46:09):
We got chemistry already and uh we're gonna attack this thing,
hit the ground running.
Speaker 3 (46:13):
What was it?
Speaker 9 (46:13):
What was it like playing last season? Was that Kaylen
Dumore after he came here?
Speaker 7 (46:17):
But yeah, it was pretty cool. You know. Obviously the
transition from coach Saban and the Boor is always going
to be different. But I would say the good thing
about being Abamas with.
Speaker 3 (46:29):
The Elijah Chase, with a lot of new coaching.
Speaker 7 (46:31):
Styles, and I really enjoyed playing with coach de Boor.
He was a great coach, obviously a genius and an
even better person. Uh So, nothing but high praise for
coach to boll Robbie was with.
Speaker 9 (46:43):
Your frame and the way you're built. Was it always
football for you?
Speaker 5 (46:46):
Or?
Speaker 7 (46:48):
He was actually football and swimming all the way up
to early high school. And I think I made the
right choice going the football route, but uh yeah, I
was swimming there for a little bit.
Speaker 9 (47:01):
What kind of strips.
Speaker 7 (47:04):
About the one hundred yard free style was kind of
my go to but I could do I could be sprands.
Speaker 3 (47:10):
I could do distance freestyle with my stroke.
Speaker 9 (47:13):
What was your best time in the hundred three?
Speaker 7 (47:17):
Yeah, I got down to a fifty six I want
to say fifty six seconds.
Speaker 13 (47:23):
Robbie Klint Kubiak gaps of the coordinator Here's worked with
Kyle You's check in San Francisco and Adam Prentice in
new On this last couple of years to know that
they have that kind of reliance on a wall back
in their offensive scheme. What does that mean to you
coming here?
Speaker 3 (47:35):
Now? It's great.
Speaker 7 (47:38):
I mean it's you know that you're working with somebody
that has experienced and gets a lot of production out
of a guy in my role. So, like I said,
I'm very excited to make that transition to the next
level and work with these coaches to better myself and
succeed in the role that they envisioned for me.
Speaker 12 (47:59):
Is there a block from this past season that you think,
really is your favorite catcher started who you want to
be as a player?
Speaker 16 (48:08):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (48:09):
I mean, yeah, I had that one on a Tennessee kid.
Speaker 18 (48:13):
But I mean it's it's not just one player.
Speaker 3 (48:17):
I'll tell you, it's just my attitude throughout the whole season.
Speaker 7 (48:20):
I'm kind of the same player.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
What you get is what you're gonna get.
Speaker 13 (48:24):
So just yeah, and Robbie, just for the sake of clarity,
pronounce your last name for us. So we've got it
squared away to.
Speaker 3 (48:35):
Get there.
Speaker 7 (48:38):
Where are you talking to us from, Robbie, I'm from
rock Hill, South Felt.
Speaker 3 (48:43):
Where am I I'm in Beamford, South Carolina right now? Okay?
Speaker 10 (48:47):
Is at a family home or party or at the
uncle's house?
Speaker 3 (48:51):
Okay?
Speaker 9 (48:51):
Great? Perfect?
Speaker 1 (48:55):
All right? Another really likable sounding guy drafted by the Seahawks.
Character seemed like it was a priority for John Schneider
in this drafted typically is but to Robbie Oots out
of Alabama tight end there he's been drafted as a
fullback by the Seahawks. Just to recap some of the
highlights from the interview you just heard, he no mammed
(49:16):
Jen Mueller, which was awesome. He called himself physical and selfless.
That was the description that he gave himself, which is great.
And another Alabama player, another person who knows Jalen Milroe personally,
and just glowing with the praise about Jaln Milroe, the player,
the worker, the person I mean these Alabama players, I mean,
(49:41):
I know he left us. And I know we're not
supposed to like him as much, but I was such
a big fan of Kaylen de Boor I'm gonna say
something critical. I mean, he had tremendous talent there. We
all know that that he adopted from Nick Saban. And
the character players that Nick Saban allured to Alabama, my goodness,
single one of them just as a blows your hair back.
(50:02):
They're so impressive when they answer questions. And you can
add Robbie Oots to that, and you get another example
of another Alabama player that just can't say good enough
things about Jaylen Milroe.
Speaker 4 (50:15):
I know, I love it.
Speaker 5 (50:16):
I know that you know some people he fell technically,
you know, he fell farther than people. Originally, I would say,
pre prior to the season, thought he might go. When
you say Alabama quarterback, regardless of the name you're throwing
behind it, it just sounds like someone who would go
higher than he actually did. I think they got a
steal in him, especially everything that we keep hearing about him.
Speaker 1 (50:37):
Well, I love what I'm hearing about. And I already
had heard great things about like a four point oh student,
and yet I mean Terry and Arnold couldn't stop talking
about him on draft night when he got drafted last night.
I mean, they're getting some special dudes. It sounds like
not just football players, but some special dudes in this
draft process.
Speaker 5 (50:58):
So I like that we do have coming up at
two o'clock a special guest. We don't know that much
about Tory Horton out of Colorado State quite yet, but
someone who does. One Hugh Millon is here. Oh, his son,
Clay Millon was Tory's quarterback, and it sounds like at
two o'clock that the both of the Millons will join
us and give us an inside look at the newest
wage receiver.
Speaker 3 (51:18):
Great.
Speaker 1 (51:18):
I think we'll probably use Hughe here. Since he's here
showing off his calves, we might as well use him
here today as well. Our coverage of the draft is
brought to you by Frostbrewed Corps, Light Choose Chill, R
and R Foundation specialists, and the Queen Anne Beer Hall
plus Fox thirteen. And we're going to continue on the
other side. We're still a little ways away from the
(51:39):
seahawks next pick. The sixth round is underway, so you
have the one hundred and ninety second pick right now
owned by the Seahawks, and so a little bit of
time to do some evaluation. We'll also recap everything that
you missed if you are just joining us. It's been
a very busy day. Three players have been added, three
trades have been made by the Seahawks. Here on Day
(52:00):
number three of the NFL Draft. Our coverage continues next
