Speaker 1 (00:00):
There sent that information.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Oh good, this is Gina and Stean's here with me too.
Thanks so much for calling us. Oh no, no, not
at all.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
That's okay, no worries. Thank you for calling us back.
We really appreciate it. We're all ready to go. So yeah,
you bet. We will record this for play back tomorrow,
just so you don't think we're crazy if you say something.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
About well, we're crazy.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
But all right, hold on, Thank you so much. Hi Justin? Yes, Hi, Justin?
Can hear us?
Speaker 4 (00:45):
I can?
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Yeah, Gina is so two faced. You should hear what
she was saying about you or not?
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Would you stop that?
Speaker 4 (00:51):
Alright?
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Good to talk to. Here we go, Kat one O
three point seven. You're in number one for the New
Country at STEVENNGA in the morning, Steve.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Lundy, CML Tech.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Well Saturday night, it's a big night Astro Amphitheater in Ralston.
Justin Moore along with Joe Nichols and joining us right now,
Valerie Music recording artist Justin Moore, Hey, good morning, Justin.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Hey guys, what's happening?
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Looking forward to having here in town? I hate to
bring up a source of subject to start, but a
good effort by your Arkansas Razorbacks. I know you wanted
them to win the College World Series, but they had
a great year.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
You got to admit, yeah, they did, they really did.
They got it. They got a really tough drawl and
the you know, the first well, I would say the
first round, but our side of the bracket to have
the only other SEC team, which you know I'm biased,
(01:50):
but the SEC, to me is the best league in
college baseball. And uh, to have have to play l
s U a couple of times to get to the
champion Ship Series was was a tough draw and both
were really good, close, tight games, and you know, we
just came out on the the wrong side of it
(02:10):
a couple of times. But you're right, though, they had
a really good year, finished second the SEC, and it's
unfortunate because I really believe we probably had the best
team in the country this year and just you know,
couldn't get it done. Baseball is my favorite sport, but
it's a funny sport. You know, It's there's some luck
(02:33):
involved and who's hot at the right time and and
those types of things. And you know, LSU played really
really well down the stretch. Is there any part of
you credit to them.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Is there any part of you as an SEC fan
that is glad to see LSU win or is that
one just too hard to piel to swallow?
Speaker 4 (02:55):
Absolutely? You know, So when I was when I was young,
you know, when I was five, six, seven, eight years old,
we were in the Southwest Conference, and I don't know
if you guys are old enough to remember that. Sure
we were the only non Texas school in the conference,
(03:16):
and so our rival was was Texas. And now Texas
is back in the SEC, so that's kind of rekindled
some of that rivalry. But when I was a teenager
through really just a few years ago, LSU became our
big time rival.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
And so.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Here's the three teams. I hate Ole, Miss Texas, L
s U in no certain orders, all equally. So no
I was, I was rooting for Coastal.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
I love it. Well at least you're taking it well.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Yeah, well on the radio maybe that. Well what's what's
ironic is my wife is from South Louisiana and all
of her family and friends or either went to l
s U or r l s U fans, So I
get to hear it, uh from from all of them,
(04:23):
and and I have a lot of great friends down
there too. It's a great place. I just I just
can't stand the Tigers.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Stevegenna talking with Justin Moore Saturday Night in austral Amphitheater
with Joe Nichols. That would be so much fun.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Joe Nichols, you guys have been on a couple of
tours so far. How is that being able to collaborate
with him?
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Yeah, Joe's great. I mean, he and I. He's another
Arkansas guy, So he and I commiserate over the hogs.
I mean we text each other during games, and he's
he grew up actually right near the the Fayetteville where
the school is. I'm from three and a half hour
south of there. But so he and I go back
(05:07):
and forth going, man, can you not can you believe this?
And blah blah blah, you know all this kind of stuff.
You know, but we've become really good friends over the
last seven eight, I don't know, ten years something like that.
And Joe's one of those guys, which it's it's cliche
to say, but I mean, I mean it. You could
(05:29):
listen to Joe sing the phone Book and you love it.
I mean, he's just such an incredible country singer and
just a great guy. And it's been fun to become
really good friends with him, and so anytime we have
the opportunity to, you know, go out and do some
shows together, certainly it's exciting for us.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Now.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
The guy never gets any older. He makes me sick.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
I know, That's what somebody was asking me. I think
it was one of my production folks the other The
other night, we were watching his show before we went on,
and they're like, how old is Joe? And I go,
I don't know. I figure he's about my age. I'm
forty one, and I think My tour manager goes, now,
(06:20):
I think he's supposed to fifty, and I'm like, no,
he can't be fifty, and look it up and shure
it up. He's forty eight. He's not fifty. But yeah,
he looks great, in great shape, you know, just chiseled.
He was backstage. But we do an encore thing together,
and my tour manager told me this the other day
(06:41):
and I'm like, you got to be kidding me. So
he goes, Yeah, before the OnCore, Joe was out here
doing push ups and I'm like, are you kidding? I
haven't done a push up in twenty five years. You know,
he's out here doing it before we do the audit.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Talking with Justin Moore Saturday night at astro Amphitheater for
tickets at ticketmaster dot com. Now, are you still doing
a sports radio thing in the morning?
Speaker 4 (07:16):
I am. I overslept this morning. My family and I
are down at our place at the beach, and I
set my alarm. I don't know what. I guess I
slept through it. I don't know, but I texted him
this morning I go, sorry, guys, totally overslept. Yeah, I
do it. I do it three days a week. I
(07:37):
do typically now to be Wednesday, Thursday, Friday this week,
but usually I do Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday for two or
three hours. And it's been a lot of fun. Man,
I've enjoyed it. You know, we talked a little bit about,
you know, my fandom for the Razorbacks, and so I've
(08:03):
had the opportunity to you know, interview you know, some
of my childhood heroes, you know, doing this this gig
and you know, it's it certainly is not making me
rich imagination, but but it's been a whole lot of fun.
(08:24):
I've made a lot of friends and it's it's it's
another outlet for me to be creative, if that makes
any sense. And and I and you know, the people
that know me know this, and maybe some people listen don't.
But I'm as passionate about sports as I am music.
(08:47):
You know, had I been six six instead of five six,
you know, I would have probably tried to, you know,
play ball and and do some stuff like that, whether
it be coach or whatever. You know, I still coach
my kids and baseball, football, softball, basketball, that kind of stuff.
So you're busy. It allows me to it allows me
(09:11):
to kind of still be a part of the game.
You know. I just I don't get to play it.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
I'm just impressed they paid to do Ready Walmart gift, Well, they.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Don't pay much.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
You Well, you're just talking about your I try to.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
That's why I try to do three days a week
instead of five. If that's all y'all are gonna pay me,
I ain't doing it.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
I don't blame it. Conversation.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Yes, we have.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Well, justin on a personal note, you've got four kids.
Who's the most likely to follow in your musical footsteps
or any of them interested in music?
Speaker 4 (09:51):
Oh wow, that's a good question. I've actually never been
asked that. I don't know that any of them when
it definitely won't be my oldest. What's weird is I
don't know if it's weird but ironic. Maybe all of
my kids sing well and sing on key, which my
(10:14):
wife sings on keys as well, so I guess they
get it from both sides. But hmmm, maybe it's any
my youngest daughter, because she's the most like gregarious, I guess,
and outgoing and and she'll talk to anybody, you know,
(10:37):
she's one of those type people. She's ten, about to
be eleven here in a month or so, actually a
couple of weeks, but probably her, if any of them,
just because she's he's willing to like put herself out
there and and go for it. But I don't know.
(10:59):
And you know, I I tell people this too. I
hope none of them do, because you know, I moved
to Nashville when I was eighteen from home in Arkansas,
and I can't imagine what my parents went through, you know,
dropping me off as an eighteen year old kid and
just being like, all right, well go get them.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
Yeah. So you know, I'm so thankful that they were
supportive of me, but I still don't really understand why
they were.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
I like, that's a story.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
But I really hope that, you know, I think, no
matter what business you're in, you know the ends and
more importantly, you know the outs of the business, and
that could be music or any Fortune five Hunter company
or whatever. And so I'm hopeful that they do something
(12:00):
a little less stressful and a little less stressful for
my wife and myself, to be honest with right.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Totally talking with Justin Moore appearing Saturday night astro Amphitheater
in Rawson. You aren't a lot of hats. I mean,
all the stuff you do is the day if we
talked before about you being a coach, coach and your kids.
You're doing the radio thing, obviously the music thing, but
this personally, what's the most country thing you've done this week?
Speaker 4 (12:28):
Oh gosh, this week, that's the.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
Most country thing you've done this week?
Speaker 4 (12:37):
You know, my record label president just gifted me a
season nineteen seventy two Chevy.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Yes, shut up.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Yeah, I saw that.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
I saw a video for that.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
Wow, and so they just delivered it. Maybe I don't know.
A couple of weeks ago and I had some kind
of uh alarm going on or you know whatever. And
I dissected that problem and figured it. I didn't fix it,
but I what was wrong with it. Just get that's
(13:15):
the first thing that kind of comes to mind.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
That's awesome that that's so it's so pretty. It's red.
Oh my gosh, I saw that on your Instagram page.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
So Justin's boss gives him, weird, is that that?
Speaker 4 (13:25):
That truck when when we when he bought it, and
I say, when we bought it, when he bought for
me was green and white, and he said, we can
do it any color you want. And so going back
to my razorback stuff, I looked up the colors from
those years, and uh, the razorback color officially is called
(13:50):
cardinal red because we used to be called the Cardinals
instead of the Razorbacks, and so they had cardinal red,
and so I had to do it cardinal red.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Man, His boss gives him an S ten pickup. What
the hell is fat wallet? Ever? Giving up?
Speaker 1 (14:12):
I got a ten dollar Walmart.
Speaker 3 (14:14):

appreciate your time and and and the support over the years.
It does not go unnoticed. Round appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Thank you, Justin, you take care, We'll see you.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
I guess bye.
