please welcome Triple Tiger's Records recording artist Russell Dickerson. Hey, Russell,
good to talk to you. What we're doing fantastic. You know.

(00:23):
One of the things that Gina and I always say
to people if they haven't seen you perform, you talk
about energy. It sounds like you've already had five red bulls,
this more. You know it.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
It's just how It's just how I am. First thing
we wake up, ready to go, ready to rage.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Man, I wish I had some of that. Well, it's
going to be so good to have you back in
cat Country playing in La Vista this Thursday night.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yes, sir, I mean me and my wife talk about
it all the time, are like, what's like, what's like
one of your most surprisingly favorite cities. And I'm not joking.
It's omaha, that's awesome. I mean, you know you got
the big you got the big metropolis and all that.
Those are fun, but like one of those one of
those low key just like awesome cities. Oh maha, babies.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
You need to bring Remmington and Radford to our zoo.
You should have Kaylee bring the boys and come to
our zoo.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
So Henry door le Zoo. It's the number one ranked
zoo in the world.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Yeah wow, yeah, okay, big flag.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yeah, so while you're working, they can be exactly well, Hey,
congratulations on all that's going on for you. A couple
of tours. You've been out with Sam Hunch. You got
your good Day to have a great day tour that's
going to be in Leavista on the Thursday night. Tell
us what else is going on with you right now
is if that's not enough.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
We just finished up an EP is going to be
dropping late August, and uh, we're just going, I mean
this is going to have about probably five four new
songs on it. We got Bones on there and some
other ones.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Headed over to.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Europe in about two weeks.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Then uh, head to Canada with Sam Haunt again and
then you know that's pretty much a I'm making a
record the rest of the year.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
You know, we talked with several artists who they can't
believe how big a country fans there are over in Europe.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
I know, yeah, I mean it blows my mind. We've
probably been over there. This is maybe our eighth time,
and you know, we just every year just keeps getting
bigger and bigger and bigger, and it's just like such
a cool, such a cool thing to see these like
new country music fans over there every year.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Yeah, and you're going to I think the first place
I saw you were going was Belfast. Have you been
there before?

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah, I've been there. I don't know if we've actually
like played a show there, but I've definitely been there
a few times.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Cool.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Talking about Russell Dickerson coming to La Vista this Thursday
night at the Astro Amphitheater, and temperature should be about
lower eighties when you take the stage, which sure is better. Yeah, yeah,
sure is better than the three three digit temperatures we've
had here recently. So it should be.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Me about it, man. Oh yeah, I mean it's been
that way in Nashville.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Too, when you hit the road like you're coming here
in town, when you hit the road and you climb
on the bus, is that still exciting for it. Would
you rather just be able to beam yourself to wherever
you're going?

Speaker 2 (03:09):
I mean beaming. I'd say, after a few days, I'm
ready to beam home. But like you know, I always,
I always still get giddy getting on the bus, like
you know, we have it's actually we have Thomas Rett's
old bus and it's like super nice and it's so
homey and cozy and at this I mean we've had

(03:30):
it for two three years now, so it's just like
it feels like home for us. We know where, you know,
we got some good wine on there, we got the
movies that, you know, everything we make it feel like home.
So and my wife are getting to hang out this
weekend alone, no kids, So that's going to beautiful.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
All right.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
What's your favorite kind of wine? You said? Wine?

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Oh, let's see. I mean, I'm like, I mean, I
could I could talk for hours about wine. But there's
this guy, there's a brand called Orange Swift. I love.
They got a wine called them Schetty. It's one of
my favorites. Uh, Spanish wine, Timperneo, you know, big fan
of that.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
You're fancy.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
I'm getting nerdy on you.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
I'm so impressed by you.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
I didn't hear Thunderbird anywhere in there, so you're you're
out of my league.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
I'm sorry, man, Yes, Steve doesn't have discerning taste.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
You're way out of my league. Well, I know, I know,
I know when people are enjoying wines, you know, I know.
That's about as far as it goes. Well, tell us
about the boys. How they doing.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
They're great, man. Remington's four, Radford's about ten months and uh, man,
we're just doing They're in the other room. I got
blue eye on. Mom's a little under the weather. So
we're just kind of juggling life right now. Man.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
I'm just glad that Bradford wasn't ten pounds like Remington was.
What did you do to your poor wife?

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I mean, he was not, and he was right at
about nine and uh he was about nine ten days early,
so he was he was headed. He was headed for
it for sure.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Well, let's talk about the name of your tour, also
the name of your song, good Day to have a
Great Day. Tell us about that.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Oh man, that was just uh, that was just a
fun one we wanted to put out and we wrote
the song and we're just like, you know, whatever, wherever
this lives whatever it does, you know, it's just it's
just gonna it's just gonna be a fun song to
play and have and to be to play live and stuff.
But the newest one, Bones is my new single, and

(05:37):
that's the I mean, that's the one that's like blow
that just blew our minds. The response to that, it's
been so crazy.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
And you wrote that for your wife, Kayley, Right, of
course I did.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
I had to just stacking up brownie points for when
I mess up.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
You know, yeah, you and you and Thomas Rder two
of the biggest suck ups that I your wife.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
I'd tell you that's what they are.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
There, you go, Well, hey, we can't wait to see
you Thursday night. It's going to be a packed Hollis
at the Astro Amphitheater and the Vista. The weather is
going to be perfect and we look forward to seeing
and hearing you this Thursday night here in Cat Country.
