(Smile File) Seventeen-Year-Old Scout Breaks New Ground

A Scout in New Mexico is the first to do this in the state.

This is really cool. If you know anything about becoming
an Eagle Scout, it is very hard. Well, this seventeen
year old made history by becoming the first woman to
reach Eagle Scout status in her county in Valencia. Her
name is Gabrielle Montoya. She joined Scouting at the age
of eleven and is a founding member of her Troop
eight thirty one. She was honored at a ceremony and

during the ceremony we found out that she really loved
doing some of the community service work. She earned twenty
one merit badges. And what she did is she got
a team together to turn old tires into dog beds
and donated them to an animal shelter o need.
