Speaker 1 (00:00):
Please to welcome to Steve Benngina in the Morning and
Cat Country Dustin Lynch Dustin, good morning, Good morning. How's
it going doing fantastic? I kind of got a kick
before he went on the air here, Gina had to
remind you you're coming to Omaha. He must busy. He's
a busy guy.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
That was sweet over to remind me. I definitely knew.
I definitely knew what we were chatting about.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
The reminder, Well, for those who may not know, Dustin
and Scotty McCrery are going to be in concert Liberty
First Credit Union Arena on Thursday, December fourth, my wife's birthday.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
All right, yeah, we already know what we're doing.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
So how did you and Scotty come up with us?
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Man? I just love the concept. It's actually kind of
a group effort. We were both wanting to go out
on tour this fall. I was like, what the hell,
let's just join arms here and and march, just sing
together and blow it out. So I'm really staked to
be back at that arena. That was one of my
favorite shows we did on the Party More tour, was
one of the most crowds we had, So I'm really
excited to get back in there were Scotti the two.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
For the road tour Liberty First Credit Union Arena December fourth.
Speaking of that last concert, we signed a bar that
you had. Where is that bar these days?
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Okay? That bar I saved and it's actually in my
barn at the farm in Tennessee, oh neat so I have, Yeah,
I have a piece of you guys and everywhere we
stopped on that tour. At the bar now so that
it'll be serving Yeah, it'll be serving some some cocktails,
you know. Post hunt coming to your season for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
We're talking with Dustin Lynch and you're doing a residency
at the Win Las Vegas that started in February. And
I guess there are worst places to be on the
fourth of July than Encore Beach Club, Huh.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
I mean, one of my favorite places to party on Earth.
And I would say probably the coolest day club I've
ever been in, and I've been Joe Bunch all over
the place. But man, it's just an honor to be
a part of the Win and that family and just
that pool of talent. And we're doing that show is
actually it's not a full band show. It's a completely
different concept. It's a new concept that came up with
just for them where I'm djaying, but I'm also performing
(02:00):
kind of at the same time. So it's it's a
really cool thing and what better way to do Fourth
of July and out at the wind went little money
and a little bit aw.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
There you go. We're talking with Dustin Lynch this morning
here with Steve and Gina. Well, Steve and I have
seen you plenty of times in concert, and you have
so much energy on stage. What's your very favorite thing
about performing on stage?
Speaker 2 (02:23):
It's just the interaction with the fans. And I think
I learned that through a couple of years in a
row with Luke Bryan, just how how loose at first
you're kind of scared to death and tight and don't
want to make mistakes, And being out there with Luke,
I realized, man, just kind of in the moments, what
a lot of music is about. We all we're all
going to have fun and connect with that crowd, and
we just meet a lot of fun characters out there.
(02:44):
So I just feed off the energy up front. Some
some venues, the spotlight's blind me a lot, so I'm
always seeing a few roads I can see the whole room.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Well, Gina and I often make mistakes just on purpose
so people won't think we're perfect.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
So yeah, that's a good strategy.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Well, congratulations the album Killed the Cowboy. How'd you hook
up with Jelly roll for Chevrolet?
Speaker 2 (03:09):
That was just an organic before Jelly got on his
rocket and really took off, Just an organic thing to
happen between my producer I was. I came across Jelly
and just how how well he was connected to his
fan base whenever we weren't too undur in the COVID years,
and my producer, I had no idea, used to make
a lot of his beats back in his early days.
So they rekindled and sort of were like, well, let's
(03:31):
try country together. And so we were all just in
the studio kind of cooking, and Chevrolet came across the
desk and we said, what the heck, we'll throw We'll
throw this down together and see what happens. And man,
it's gone on to be one of my biggest hits
of my career.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
The two for the road tour Liberty First Credit you
