The Clearwater Threshers are a minor league baseball team in
Florida that's connected to the Philadelphia Phillies in the major leagues.
And you know how sometimes they'll have like bat boys
or bat girls. Well, in the minor leagues, teams have
more flexibility. So the Clearwater Threshers took advantage of this
and they started a bat dog named Layla, who retrieved
bats from home plate loyally for six years. Well earlier

this month, Layla retired from her post and was honored
by the team and city. She wore a special beach
dog's uniform and they celebrated with a cake and they
also gave away a snow globe and had an online
autograph jersey auction. Isn't it so fun?
