Speaker 3 (00:24):
I'm super excited.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Hey, congratulations by the way, on park, just another number
one for you? Is it getting whole hum for you?
I mean you've had what is that now, twenty three
number one song something like that.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Man, I tell you what it's it's been awesome and
it never it never gets old, to be honest, and
it's never easy. You know. I've been really fortunate to
have a great team, and it's just been really fun
to get to celebrate these victories along the way, and
you know, just to feel the love from country radio.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
You guys have been so good.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
To me and the fans, and so it's yeah. Man,
it's just inspired and keeps me, you know, keeps me
motivating to stay in the studio and keep bringing the party. Man,
I'm excited for new music and you had just grateful
at Park Rung.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
The bell Man, Gina and I were just talking before
it went on. It was September thirteenth, twenty thirteen when
we first met you and Brian at West Fairy Ampithy
get in Council Bloss You did a show for us,
and between the time we signed you to do the
concert and the show, cruiz blew up. We want to
thank you because you turned what was supposed to be
a four thousand seat festival into thirteen thousand people.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
It was all that's amazing.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
It was amazing and I remember you made the comment
like these people are all here for us. So back
back then you were still kind of in awe of it.
Now when you look back on that, what are your
feelings when you look back on something like that.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
You know, it was a It was a crazy ride, man.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
It was a lot of fun and the power of
a song is just incredible, and you know, when something
connects with the fans, it's just you know, it's just amazing.
What can happen and so so yeah, that was a
fun ride. It's been fun to kind of get to
relive those early years a little bit here with my
solo journey and get to you know, go back to
some of those clubs and play those smaller venues and
get to reconnect with the fans on a more personal level.
(02:09):
And it's just, yeah, it's been really special and kind
of getting kind of getting to do it twice because yeah,
those early years, Man, when stuff starts to work and
people start to show up, it's really special.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
If you started two careers and just with your solo
career four consecutive number ones.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
What's your secret sauce for kind of picking or writing hits,
because you write a lot of your hits.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
I think it's just a little bit of intuition, a little.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Bit of gut, but also just writing a lot. You know,
I've been writing a lot of songs for fifteen or
twenty years at this point, and just being consistent and
trying to always get better and trying to write with
different writers that make you better, and you know, it
does help.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
It really helps. I call that my first instrument, you know,
really getting.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
To be a songwriter and so to have songs in
my arsenal and get to kind of tick from when
it's time to make a record, it really helps. And
also having a great team to help you decipher between
a good song and a great song.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Talking with Tyler Hubbard is number one song. Park didn't
hurt to have people like Ashley Gorley in your contact
list on your phone exactly.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
That's exactly what I'm talking about. God like that that
you can lean lean on bitter legends in their own right.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
So it's it's certainly helpful songwriting community in Nashville.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Actually, Gorley one of the writers who Park along with
you and Jessie Fraser and Canaan Smith. You open your
show with Park.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
That is so cool.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
What a great way to open.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Up a show. Yeah, that song just sets the pace
for the night. It's so fun, it's so up tempo,
and yeah, it's a really fun song to come out too.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Now, if I was to go into your playlist right now,
people you're listening to right now, is there somebody that
you're really excited about in the music industry?
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Ooh, I don't think I'm I don't think I'm up
on anybody hip that Nobody else knowing about it.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
That's the question.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
I think, you know, I'm really enjoying Bailey's new record.
I think he just put out a great album that's
been a lot of fun to listen to. It's been
fun to play some shows with him recently and just
see his growth.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
It's been amazing. I'm kind of I probably need to.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Be asking you guys, who's who's the new guy need to.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Go check out?
Speaker 1 (04:05):
I would say Zach We love Zach To.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Oh yeah, well see he's not everybody knows Zach Top.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yeah. Yeah, I'm trying to think underground.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
I love Zach Top, by the way, and my kids
love that top. So we've been jamming him for like
a you know, a year and a half.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Probably you're talking about Bailey Zimmerman and he did a
do that with Luke Colms. Is there anybody you haven't
done a project with you'd like to do a song with?
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Man, I think there's a pretty good list of guys
and girls that I look up to that I think
would be fun to work with.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
I haven't done many collaborations in.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
The last few years, so it's kind of uh, and
that's been intentional. So now I'm sort of I'm sort
of itching to do that, and everything kind of is
determined by the song, so it's got to be the
right song at the right time, with the right team
and uh and all those things that when that's when
that all lines up.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Man.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
I think doing music with friends of a love of
fun and look forward to doing.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Some more of that.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Are you doing a song with Megan Maroney? I think
that'd be a great match.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah, it would be fun. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Well listen, Tyler, it's absolutely been a pleasure. I hope
this isn't the last time we get a chance to talk.
Congratulations in all your success and if you don't mind now,
I thought we'd play your number one song Park, would
you mind then?
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Hey, please do it? Please do it? Man. Thanks again for.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Chatting with me this morning, and look forward to seeing
you guys at the show always.
