Speaker 1 (00:01):
It is Husky football, football football.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
This is Husky Talk Postgame, cowered by your Northwest Chevy Dealers,
by Coor's Life, by UA Local thirty two hunder Construction,
R and R Foundation specialists, Bowen, Scar Forward, Mitsubishi Electric,
and by K two Vision. Husky Talk Postgame is on
the air with former Huskies Greg Lewis and Mario Bailey.
(00:27):
Hears Dave Sattey Muller handed off.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Jordan Washington breaks a tackle off, He goes forty fifty
up the right sideline.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Turn on those jets, please God, touchdown.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Jordan Washington's sixty eight yards the longest run of his
young career, and he showcased that one hundred meter dash
speed with all sorts of flash.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Jordan Washington rolls to the end zone.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
And the Huskies take a twenty to nothing lead.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
How boys are gonna wearing back ends Husky Stadium. Husky
Talk Postgame brought to by Chevy Silverado. Bring on the
tough stuff because with nine trims and four available engines,
Chevy Silverado.
Speaker 5 (01:08):
Was ready to accept all challenges.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
Well, I think maybe tonight, Greg lewis the most predictable
outcome you could have.
Speaker 5 (01:15):
Imagined in a game like this.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
You knew after the Wisconsin loss last week thirteen to
ten in Madison, that Washington was going to look good
tonight against Perdue. They were going to look to take
it out on Purdue and their back home at Husky
Stadium where they are now twenty five and one in
their last twenty six home games going back to twenty
twenty two.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
And that is exactly what happened tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Everybody gets in on the action tonight, a forty nine
to thirteen win for you Dub that featured Adam Mohammad
with a three touchdown game and Jordan Washington. I think
Greg doing something I've never seen a guy do before,
his very first touchdown and his very first personal foul
coming on the same play in this game tonight against Perdue.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
Yeah, the young man was excited.
Speaker 6 (02:00):
You know, not only was his his first touchdown, but
it was sixty plus yards.
Speaker 7 (02:04):
He's known as a speedster.
Speaker 6 (02:05):
He was able to get out in open field and
score a touchdown and he did.
Speaker 7 (02:09):
A pretty nice dance afterwards.
Speaker 6 (02:11):
And you know, after all of that, he ended up
taking off his helmet right and getting a penalty.
Speaker 7 (02:15):
So big win for the dogs.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
I think you know.
Speaker 6 (02:18):
What it showed was that even if you're down to
your second string, your third string, your fourth string at
some positions at Husky Stadium, this team is just dynamic
on offense. You get out on the road, things changed
for whatever reason. But in the confines of Husky Stadium,
DeMont Williams's magic. You know, Amari Evans shows up, has
a great game. Washington, Adam Mohammad, you know Vines, I'm sorry,
(02:44):
Roebuck catches a touchdown, yep. And they were just able
to do so many good things on the offensive side
of the ball.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Well, let's talk about Jordan Washington for a second, because again,
you have a game like this without Joronah Coleman, without
Dannizel Boston, and you see some young guys emerge, Jordan
Washington showing why Husky fans over the offseason we're so
excited about this guy. Uh, this is a guy here
in California. I finished second and the one hundred meters
at the state Track and Field Championships with a ten
(03:11):
to three oh one hundred, also fourth in state in
twenty three with a twenty one six and the two
hundred meters, So he has a.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
Speedster no question about it.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
But as a former running back yourself, what did you
make of what you saw.
Speaker 5 (03:24):
From the Jordan wash ind of tonight?
Speaker 6 (03:26):
Well, I thought I saw the offensive line have a
good game. You know, those guys had some good fits.
He was able to just purely turn the speed on,
get to the outside and use his talent. You know
that he's blessed with, which is you know, the ability
to pick up his feet really fast and put him
down faster than the other folks.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (03:44):
So, you know he had over one hundred yards. We've
talked about Jonah. You know, this would have been a
great day for Jonah to have that same kind of
success because I think it was really about the offensive line,
you know, playing well and uh, you know Washington using
his speed. So a great, great game for the young man.
He did it, and I think he had the one
hundred yards and five carries. He had five carries one
(04:07):
hundred and four yards, which you know is a fantastic
day by any stretch of the imagination.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
Well, the thing is, you take away the sixty eight
yard run by Jordan Washington, he still had another forty
yards on four carries, right, the other four carries, so
it wasn't just all about the sixty eight yard touchdown run.
But again, I mean this is look you'd love to
see it. Obviously, you would have loved to have seen
it combined with a win last week in Madison and
a football team that would be eight and two right
(04:32):
now looking at a nine and two potential mark with
a big showdown then with Oregon in a couple of
weeks from now, and that is now gone. But Purdue
was ninety fourth in the country and run defense going
into tonight's game one hundred and sixty two yards a game,
four and a half yards of carry, and you pop
for forty carries, two hundred and twelve yards, five touchdowns
on the ground and just over five yards of carries.
(04:55):
So what I thought was cool tonight is seeing them
develop maybe a little bit of depth on the offensive
line and.
Speaker 5 (04:59):
Show first utility.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
How many times have we talked about John Mills at
left guard and I've asked you, Hey, is this guy
a potential left tackle? When Carver Willis you know, steps
away and goes to the NFL, and he was at
right tackle tonight, and I thought, look, more than the part.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
Yeah, I mean, he's he's a stud and doesn't matter
really what position you put him at. Like I think
Cam Clearland made some good points last week that as
a young guy, starting as a seventeen year old, you
want to make it simple for him. Right The guard
position is a little simpler than the tackle spot, but
physically and from a talent standpoint, this guy can play
(05:35):
anywhere along the offensive line. They've eased him in today
he had to move out a little bit, and like
you said, it showed up well. But I think as
an offense today they capitalize on the big plays. The
forty eight yard played o' Mario Evans down the sideline,
which is one of the best catches I've seen here
at Husky Stadium. Yeah, let's hope that's on College Football
Final tonight. I'm gonna get home and watch that, the
(05:58):
big run by Washington. You saw Decor de Graf have
some big catches down the scene. Uh So, overall, you
saw the big play really show up today and that's
what made it kind of look easy. And unfortunately for Purdue, yeah,
you know, they're just not a good football team defensively,
and when you are not a good defensive football team,
you play Husky's and the Husky Stadium.
Speaker 7 (06:18):
You're gonna give up thirty five or more points.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
So I was talking to Tim Newton, who's the Purdue
football play by play guy over here. We had him
on the pregame show, and I mean he was just desponded.
I mean, they lost what, you know, seventeen consecutive games
in a Big Ten. They haven't won a Big Ten
game since they beat Indiana to and the twenty twenty
three seasons said, look, dude, I get it.
Speaker 7 (06:36):
We might be the last time Indiana lost. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:39):
I mean we you know, we we get it. Man,
we know we were there.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
You know, we know what it's like to go through
a spell like this, and Perdue is going through it
right now. But you know, like, I don't know how
much fans take from a game like this. I mean,
I'm not going to say this is UC Davis all
over again, but it's the closest thing the Big Ten
has to offer to something like that. And this is
a terrible, terrible, terrible Perdue football team. And the Huskies
went out and, hopefully for them, regained some confidence that
(07:04):
they can take with them out of the Rose Bowl
next Saturday and win a game in a place that,
let's be honest with you, has traditionally at times, Greg,
especially in the regular season, been a hard place for
U dub to play. I mean, Ohio State just paceded
Ucla tonight in Columbus forty eight to ten. So UCLA's
coming off a loss. They're three and seven, three and
(07:25):
four in a Big ten and maybe kind of limping
to the end of their regular season with a brand
new head coaching staff coming in next season. So the
confidence that you lost a little bit, I'm not saying
they were down in the dumps after the Wisconsin game,
but if they were doubting themselves a little bit, did
they maybe get some of that back tonight?
Speaker 7 (07:43):
I don't, you know.
Speaker 6 (07:44):
It's hard for me to say yes to that question
because they have been spectacular at home right offensively all
season long, except for the Ohio State game, which is
arguably the best team and defense in the country. So
going down the U, I don't know that this gives
him that commonis back. I think a road when and
(08:05):
where they performed well on the offensive side on the
road could go a long way to doing that. So
that's probably what they're hoping that they do at UCLA.
Although that's the last road game of the season as well,
but it could help them, you know, bowl game and
future down the line that they can do that. They
just have to find a way to go on the
road and be able to execute, you know, And I
(08:25):
think it matters, you know, how this offensive line play.
What does demand Williams do? How can coach And we
talked about this in pregame, if you remember, I said,
this is a game where with all those guys out,
coach Fish has got to design plays or call plays
that get his players in a position to have the
big play. And he did just that. I mean, I
(08:47):
think the play calling was in rhythm. Again, it just
felt like anytime we got the ball after that second drive,
we could probably score.
Speaker 7 (08:55):
A touchdown on Ginnie drive. It gets in that kind
of rhythm.
Speaker 6 (08:58):
I just, for whatever reason, can figure out why we
can't get in that rhythm on the roll. But it
starts with Demon Williams. He the first pass of the
game I thought was you know, a little you know,
off target. But from there on, the kids throwing on target.
He's throwing deep balls, He's putting balls in the spot
where only his guy. I mean that passed though Mari
Woo Evans. It was a great catch, but demand put
(09:22):
it where only his guy could catch it and had
an opportunity with great coverage. I think the defender was
in good position, but he put it in a spot
where only his guy.
Speaker 7 (09:31):
Could catch it, and he came up with it.
Speaker 6 (09:33):
And that's the demand that we got to see down
at the Rose Bowl.
Speaker 7 (09:37):
If the Husky's going to be able to break this
big tin jinx.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Now we saw. I don't know if your confience or not.
Miles Slusher number nine for Purdue, who was the guy
that kind of got juked out of his pants on
the Jordan Washington touchdown run. He ends up sitting out
the rest of the game after getting a jetfish's face
during this game, right, so there was a little bit
of fireworks, and I look, I'm certain guys are just
completely frustrated on on Perdue side, right. I mean, Barry
(10:01):
owed him is a pretty good coach and he just
does not have the talent yet at all to get
this thing done. Great news on Raydon Vines Bright by
the way, second quarter, took a hit on the chin,
got knocked out, ambulance came out, put him on a
stretcher cut off his space face mask. You know, they
wrap him up good to make sure everything's tight there
with him. He's kind of moving his hands as he's
(10:23):
getting carted off the field, and Jed Fish did say
that he's fine, he's awake, he's moving around, so no
issues there. Kind of similar in some ways to what
happened to Quintin Moore with the concussion. But that does
mean that there's a chance that Raydon vines Bright doesn't
play next Friday, next Saturday versus UCLA, and who knows
if he plays in a couple of weeks Man against Oregon.
So getting some more weapons, I think tonight to step up,
(10:44):
including Omari Evans, who you know has I don't know
if you call it a disappointment since he transferred from
Penn State. I didn't really expect a ton out of
the guy to begin with when he came over from
Penn State. I don't know about you, Greg, but I
don't look at Penn State as this high octane passing
offense over the so I wasn't expecting much, but to
have anybody with the guys that are banged up, and
(11:05):
who knows how long Denzel is going to be out for.
I mean, that's we have no idea how long Denzel
is going.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
To be out for. They need some reinforcements at that spot.
Speaker 6 (11:13):
Yeah, I think, you know, any wide receiver having a
good game making big plays is something that we can
count as positive. Today, Desmond Roebuck, who you know, I
thought felt like he needed to have a good game
in order to get this passing game running, didn't necessarily
have a lot of big catches. He did score the touchdown,
so to see Omari Evans, to see Orodric Harris. Rodric
(11:35):
Harris played well today to get the tight end back involved.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
I thought we were talking the pregame show, but not
having a tight end and Draft.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
Had a couple of big catches in the game, so,
you know, finding other guys to make plays in the
passing game. You know, when we go down to UCLA,
we're going to have to have an offense that scores point.
So absolutely, you know, I hope Denzel Boston is back
next week. Like you said, we have no clue idea
how close he is being ready. But I can tell
(12:03):
you with the disappointing offensive offensive performance we've had, having
everybody available and as many people as possible available is
going to be a bonus for the Huskies.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
No question, we'd like to have more guys available. But
Mario Bailey ditched us for a plane ride to LA
for the RAM game.
Speaker 6 (12:20):
No, he's just you know, he's just you know, not
a professional. He just doesn't care. You know, he gives
us ten minutes notice that he's not gonna make it,
you know, for a guy to you know, really be
on me for being four minutes late this morning. Yeah,
you know, when there's some probably fatal accident happened on
I five right in front of.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Him, you know, it's pretty funny that he doesn't show up.
Second straight we do the show. He's ditched us man.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:44):

two Vision on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJR FM.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
One by two set for Washington. Snap goes to Williams,
pressure up the middle. He's going to take a shot
deep down the left side of the build for Omar Evans.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
Had a one handed catch of the twenty yard leiner.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
You kidding me?
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Pennce State Transfer. Omari Evans got a bump.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
From Demond Williams down the left sideline for a gain
of thirty plus one.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
A catch by the Senior.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
Cats by Omari Evans. Huskis needed that to kind of
get the offense. Go a little bit Husky talk postgame
show brought to by the Chevy Colorado. Whether you're an
outdoor enthusiast, urban explorer or do it yourself, die hard,
there is a Colorado trim to help you do more.
Huskies win tonight over Perdue the final forty nine to
thirteen DeMont Williams sixteen of nineteen two fifty seven. Couple
(14:16):
of touchdowns, very very good night for the freshman red
shirt freshman quarterback.
Speaker 5 (14:21):
As far as his yards per attempt to yield.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
Tonight, Demond Williams averaging thirteen and a half yards per throw,
which is obviously very very very good. Washington out gaining
perdue five hundred and six to two hundred and sixty
seven twenty five and one in their last twenty six
games in the stadium, and that one loss, greg was
to the number one team in the country in the
Ohio State Buck guys. So look, I mean, obviously, it's
(14:46):
been a long time since we've seen you lose.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
Multiple games of a year.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
We're getting used to seeing Washington win a lot of
games in the stadium. But then there's there's that dark
cloud kind of hanging over you, which is what happens
to this team when they go.
Speaker 5 (15:00):
On the road. So I don't know.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Ucla to me is a scary team coming off the
lost to Ohio State. They always have decent talent down there,
but they never con seem to get it together. This
is a football team that needs to show Husky Nation.
I think that they are ready to go on the
road and win a game. Ucla probably is going to
be the worst road team they'll see all year long.
I guess you could maybe throw Wazoo on there, but
(15:24):
that was a rivalry game back in week three, so
on paper, there probably is no excuse for you have
to drop that game next Saturday.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
Yeah, and you know, we take away the traveling multiple
time zones and the long trip and absolutely break your routine,
go out days earlier and all that kind of stuff.
The weather should be decent, you know, West Coast game
down in southern California this time of year shouldn't be
bad weather. So and then you know there's the question
of does UCLA have their starting quarterback next week? I
(15:53):
think he didn't he sit out today, if I'm not mistaken,
so is he ready to? So if all those things
line up, you should have an opportun unity to kind
of do what you did against Washington State. You know,
you didn't have to travel far. It wasn't at Husky Stadium,
but you're still on the West Coast and that day,
our offense I think scored in every possession that we
played in that game. So if the hust season go
(16:15):
down and have a good offensive performance, I don't see
there being any reason why we would lose the UCLA.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
Yeah, it was Luke Duncan played and got the start
tonight for UCLA. Nico was out tonight, and we'll see
what his situation is going to be next Saturday against you.
Double mean, look, if he wants to sit it out again,
I'm fine with that.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
At this point, I just want the Huskies to win
some damn games and give themselves a shout at a
nine or a ten win season. And you win this
game and you're eight and three, and then you know,
who knows, I mean, maybe you got a cocky Oregon
team coming in here in a couple of weeks and
you really wanted to make that Oregon game meaningful for
a trip to the CFP.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
That is now not going to happen.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
But I think Jed Fish, if he can win the
next two games and finish the race their season nine
to three, that's a pretty big turnaround considering Greg where
this roster was when he inherited it in February or January,
sorry whatever it was twenty twenty four.
Speaker 7 (17:11):
Yeah. Again, we we do that old comparison thing.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
If you were to ask the Husky fans at the
beginning of the year, would you take nine and three
would have win against a one lost Oregon team as
your final game, would you take it? I think just
about everybody would have signed up for that. You know,
I don't know that that's what I'm saying, win against
I don't know that anybody you know, predicted or expected
Washington to make the college playoffs this year, you know,
(17:35):
in year two after complete rebuild. So I would take
nine and three would have win over them. But you know,
first things first, we gotta go on the road and
play a good football game against a Big ten team
and have a good offensive performance and come away with
a win. And that's the first thing that we got
to take care of. I think that, you know, knowing
(17:57):
that we are growing and learning from whatever mistakes we've
made over the last two years on the road the
Big Ten, that we've figured some things out. I think
Coach Fish last week said there's some things we got
to figure out so that we can execute better in
these situations.
Speaker 7 (18:11):
And that's what I'm looking for next week.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
All my focus and energy is on going down to
the Rose Bowl and winning that game against UCLA on
the road, against a Big ten team, and having not
just one great quarter that saves us, but a consistent
performance throughout that game, and.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
There's look, there's this a little significance for this thing
next Saturday at the Rose Bowl. Number one, if they
do indeed move, this could be Washington's final regular season
game ever.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
At the Rose Bowl against UCLA.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
And then number two, it also is going to be
UCLA's final game ever at the Rose Bowl in a
regular season game because they play USC in the Coliseum
in the final game of the regular season. So I
don't know what kind of crowd they're gonna get next Saturday.
I don't know how big a deal that is to
Bruin fans if they are gonna say good bye to
the Rose Bowl where they come out and drove to
say audios to the Granddaddy. Even imagine UCLA. I mean,
(19:04):
they're in no position right now as a program to
play in the actual Rose Bowl game itself. I mean
they could be leaving the Rose Bowl and not go
back there for twenty years to play a game, which
is crazy, right.
Speaker 6 (19:16):
Yeah, you know, I just don't know how much that
will be in the player's mind.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
So I'm saying the fan coaches, but you might see
a few extra because that place is known for being empty. Yeah,
let's face it, and I wonder how much the fans
will come out and want to say goodbye next week.
Speaker 5 (19:31):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (19:32):
You know, it's kind of one of those things where
for me, I think their fans are apathetic sometimes anyway,
because if you're a student and you go to school
at UCLA and you got to travel all the way
down to Pasadena for a home football game, I don't
know that there's a lot of excitement or desire to
want to do that. And I don't know that they
probably I don't know if they will be upset about
(19:53):
playing somewhere else if they were able to play closer
to their own stadiums or their own campus. So I
think the UCLA fans might be good ridden its glad
to you know, play somewhere else, and you know, I
don't think they'll be anywhere near the Rose Bowl anytime.
So we just talked about celebrated our two thousand Rose
Bowl team and now we've been there since then, but
(20:14):
that's the last time we.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
Won a Rose Bowl. I'm not crazy in two thousand.
Speaker 6 (20:18):
So you know, some of these things, the way conferences
alignments are different now, the playoffs are set up, and
all of that. A lot of those traditional things no
longer traditional now, no doubt.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
All right, we'll come back and wrap it up. Huskey
Talk Postgame is on the air. We're gonna award our

Snap Round digs it out low Buyers intercepted. It's picked
up by Zadris Rainey Saleh and the true freshman comes
up with the interception the first turnover of his young
career and man his.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Star is rising fast.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
Here on montlekeas the Dogs equalize the turnover game, Roebuck
and Harris off to the right, Amariy Evan's right to
the left. Out of the shot that demon Williams Ada
Mohammed back there with him, falls with the staff takes
a hand off Ada Mohammed's face.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
On the right side.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
There's the half trick touchdown Ada Mohammed into the end
zone for the third time in this first half. The
first start of Ada Mohammed's career is a memorable one.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
Well, some big moments. There is Andreas Rainy Salih. I
guess his first pick as a Husky. Today it's time
for the bringing the hyperheat defensive Player of the game.
Excuse me. Brought to you by Mitchy BC Heating and
air Conditioning. Find your local home Comfort MVP on Douglas
home Comfort dot com. So the question is did z
RS do enough to earn that title tonight?
Speaker 5 (22:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (22:18):
I was thinking about it and I thought Ontario Thompson
had Ontario Thompson had a really good game sack and
was instrumental up front. But I think Zadrius Rainy sale Uh,
they were solid. They were calling him Sally on the
Fox broadcast. Not sure, well, right did he I think
he did? So?
Speaker 7 (22:38):
I guess Tony's a professional singers.
Speaker 4 (22:40):
You have that clip standing by by the way of
the interception, do you have it handy?
Speaker 5 (22:44):
By the way the pick call? Can we hear it again?
Is that possible? Is a chance? And Anders may have
left the studio.
Speaker 6 (22:50):
But maybe maybe somewhere with Mario hanging out.
Speaker 5 (22:54):
But no, I think.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
To the left out of the shotgun Devon Williams Ada
Mohammed back there with them for the staff takes a
hand off at A Mohammed's.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
Face on the right side. There's to have trick touchdown
Ata Mohammed into the.
Speaker 5 (23:06):
US wrong one.
Speaker 7 (23:08):
That's okay, that's okay, that's okay.
Speaker 6 (23:10):
But I think the young man with his first pick,
and each week he's been getting better and better coming
off the injury. I love to see how many young
guys were playing. I think I'm gonna go with uh A.
Rainy Sale is the divisive player of the game.
Speaker 5 (23:25):
I love it well.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
I'm looking at the U dub UCLA game next Saturday, which,
by the way, we are hoping to find out tonight
what time the game is next Saturday at the Rose Bowl.
They have played going back to nineteen ninety five one two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
(23:50):
eleven games since the start of the ninety five season
twelve if you include, by the way, the actual Rose Bowl,
how many of those twelve people?
Speaker 5 (23:59):
Huskies have one in that stadium since ninety five.
Speaker 7 (24:02):
The Huskies in ninety five.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Since ninety five, twelve games four they've won two of
them too. One of them was obviously at the Rose Bowl. Okay, no,
I'm sorry. They've won one of them since the ninety
five season one game against UCLA in Pasadena. So I
don't know why that is why it's so hard for
them to win games at that stadium. Maybe it's because
you had so many guys that are from LA and
(24:24):
they're trying to show out for their friends and family
down there at the Rose Ball. But the Rose Ball, Greg, overall,
has has not been kind to you, dub at all
for the last three Yeah.
Speaker 6 (24:33):
I would even extend that to just playing UCLA, right know,
fecial talkers, and it's been tough even when we played
him at home. Of course, you know, we know about
what happened in nineteen ninety, but in nineteen eighty nine
we went down there and played them and they were
up twenty one to nothing in the first quarter that game,
though we happened to be able to find a way
to come back, and some running back named Greg Lewis
(24:54):
runs a draw for a touchdown with a minute something
left to win that game.
Speaker 7 (24:58):
And come out with a victory.
Speaker 6 (24:59):
But Ucla has always been a tough out for the Huskies,
playing down in the Rose Bowl.
Speaker 7 (25:04):
You know, I don't know, on.
Speaker 6 (25:05):
The grass and against you know, a team that usually
has a lot of good athletes, and in an environment
where there's not a lot of energy and electricity and excitement,
you know, because of the low crowd turnouts.
Speaker 7 (25:18):
It's just been hard for the Husky get going.
Speaker 6 (25:20):
I just you know that none of that has anything
to do with this year's Husky team, though. I think
this week they have to say, we got to figure
out exactly what we are doing differently on the road,
fix it, and come out with a win. Everything has
to be shut down, not thought about, focused energy on
winning this one game.
Speaker 5 (25:41):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
They're one and nine in their last ten games against
Ucla at that stadium, one in ten overall, if you
include the loss to Dwayne Haskins in Ohio State in
two tenty nineteen at the actual Rose Ball game itself.
Speaker 7 (25:54):
So all right, thanks for bringing that up so well.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
I just think it's it's been an issue for them, man,
you know, I mean I just bring it up for
people that think this is just gonna be some kind
of a cake walk. I mean, first of all, what
about this Husky football team has shown you any road
game is a cakewalk?
Speaker 5 (26:08):
Number one?
Speaker 4 (26:09):
And the history against UCLA shows you that you got
two reasons to not think that.
Speaker 6 (26:13):
Yeah, I think again, there's this is gonna have to
be a week where there's complete focus.
Speaker 7 (26:19):
There's no distraction.
Speaker 6 (26:21):
You know, there's no one who's thinking anything other than
we gotta go in here. No one cares about Oregon
Bowl games, any of that stuff. We have to find
out how we back perform on the road in this
conference against a conference opponent and get the win when
we're not in the confines of Husky Stadium. And I
(26:42):
don't care who's you know in the Husky uniforms that day.
We proved here today.
Speaker 7 (26:47):
That's the thing.
Speaker 6 (26:48):
Last week we played a not too good Wisconsin team
and we started off with probably most of the bullets
in our gun and we end up losing. We come
back today missing some key players, I mean, some of
our best guys.
Speaker 7 (26:58):
We talked about the triplets.
Speaker 6 (26:59):
At the beginning year, we talk about Demand Williams, Jonah Coleman,
and Dinzel Boston.
Speaker 7 (27:03):
We didn't have two of those guys. We put up
forty nine freaking.
Speaker 6 (27:06):
Points on this team today, So we have to figure
out what difference is in the execution and make sure
that we come out and execute and do well regardless.
Speaker 7 (27:15):
Of who's playing.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
All right, that's it, We're done, Greg Lewis, Andrews back
in the studio. My name is Dave Soathia Maler come
home is not here, so we'll see him on Tuesday.
We're talking Mario Bailey obviously for the Husky Hank Show.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
Actually next maybe he may not show up. No, no,
next week's Husky.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
Hanks Show will be heard Wednesday at six pm because
we got a short show on Tuesday with the Crack,
And speaking of the Crack and Andrews, I believe we
are going to throw it to Climate Pledge Arena.
Speaker 7 (27:42):
Is that right?
Speaker 5 (27:42):
After a break? After two? Sure?
Speaker 4 (27:45):
I'm sorry, Yeah, after two, the Cracking lead San Jose
three to one, So we're gonna break and come back
and officially join the Kraken Radio Network. Everett al Mikey
Betton The Whole Gang for period number three from Climate
Pledge Arena. That's coming Next on ninety three three kJ
