Pulls are sent the host their firsthome game of the season, and their

(00:04):
opponents are the Thunderbirds of Lima CentralCatholic. Alongside Jim Stevens, I'm Kirk
Richards. God to have you onthis Friday night from Matthews Honda Acura High
School Football Game of the Week onMagic ninety five nine. The Gary Blue
Devils finally get to play at homeafter two rough road games seventeen point loss

(00:24):
at Hope All Loudon and a sevenpoint loss of Gallion. Yeah, tough
start, but a little home cookinghopefully just what the doctor ordered here.
Beautiful night tonight. We've got seventynine degrees and looking for the game to
have temperatures drop into the sixties,so hopefully things will get a little more

(00:44):
comfortable out there. But no threat. Forty nine percent humidity and the dew
points all the way down to fiftyeight, so hopefully things will stay dry
and hopefully weather it certainly will notbe an issue tonight. Well. As
for Lima Central Catholic, it's weekthree to Thunderbirds still haven't played a home
game, so they're just gonna haveto deal with whatever weather they traveled to
tonight. Their first Friday night gameas well, after playing on Saturday last

(01:10):
week a two point loss at DelphosSaint John's and on Thursday in week one
at twenty eight point win at Lamashawani. Yeah, they have one of those
strange schedules because they basically share stadiumand so in their situation, even at
home, they play a lot ofSaturday games, so it's not always Friday

(01:30):
night lights, but it is tonightfor him. Sure is said, We're
glad that they are here for this, which should be an excellent game between
these two football rich programs. Lookingforward to seeing this quarterback tonight. Kirk
Carson Parker. He is pretty much. He can do it both with his
legs and his arm. Definitely nota one dimensional, a dual threat,

(01:56):
and they've got some twists in thereas well. They've saw where they will
hand the ball off to the halfbackor do a lateral to him and then
he throws it down field. Oneof the slotbacks will cut across, usually
from the left to the right, and they'll run that formation quite a bit
tonight. We saw him doing thatin warmups in practice tonight. So keep

(02:17):
your eye on the ball or yourear to the radio, as the case
might be. Right on, well, our keys to the game are brought
to you by Regina fent Realties. So for Carrie, to your point,
Jim Pressure Parker, Carson Parker,my goodness, that threat to throw on
any offensive play. For Lym ofCentral Catholic in each of his first two

(02:39):
games rush for more than one hundredyards and pass for more than two hundred
yards. So he is such aweapon. Just as you mentioned as for
Lym of Central Catholic. Sustained drives, the Blue Devils will thrive on Thunderbird
three and outs and then he shortLem of Central Catholic drives will keep this
carry crowd in it. So theThunderbirds must move the sticks and keep the

(03:00):
carry offense off the field for aslong as possible. So that's what we're
going with with our Regina that realitykeys of the game. And of course
Carrie has had some trouble with turningthe ball over, so there are some
changes coming tonight. We'll get tothat in a little while, but definitely
that's not something that Scott Mershman isgoing to just let go. He's got

(03:23):
to keep hold of the ball andfind ways to protect that ball. You
know, if you have to eatthe ball, if you have to take
a sack, you do that ratherthan make make the risky throw or turn
the ball over on a fumble tryingto scamper. All right on well tonight
starting line, I was presented buythe Pillar Correttit Union. We saw LEMI

(03:45):
Central Catholic decide they want to receivethe ball. They really believe in the
offense. So we'll give you thestarters for the LEMI Central Catholic offense.
Quarterback Carson Parker, running back MatthewKwatsman, the wide outs Milon Cowan's and
Billy Burke with the Coda Gerdeman inthe slot. We'll also see some Michael
Quatman and Carson Hefner on the line. The tackles Arcaden Johnson and Gihnny McKee.

(04:11):
The guards are Brady Malcolm and ChrisSerkovich. I was practicing that,
so I hope I got that right. And the center is Andrew Baldolph.
So for the carry defense, they'llstart out on defense in this game.
On the line, the defensive endis Dwayne Gibson defensive tackle, Butch Broadman,

(04:38):
nose tackle Eavin Snyder with Cash Hartleyrotating in the outside lifebackers Alex Putnam
Dominic, Gators, Connor Norton andDash Pucket Secondary, the corners off the
Niter Core Andrik Phoenix, and thesafety's Sam Cole Carter smiling. So those
are starting lineups presented by Killer Ready. We'll take us for a break and

(05:00):
we'll come back for more of ourpregame. It is key, take it
on. I'm a Central Catholic,I'm at ninety five nine and dieheart Radios.

the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds first wholegame of the season for Carrying, they're
really hoping for some home cooking.Get to get this win. You got

(10:07):
to be excited for tonight. Sothey've got a quality opponent, so they're
gonna have to get it from theget go. And unusual for a team
not to defer at the beginning ofthe half, but when you've got a
high powered offense like this Lima CentralCatholic Thunderbird team, you want to spread
your wings and let it fly.So they are looking to get the ball
and get things started off early andright and really looking forward to seeing this

(10:31):
offense and seeing what Carrie's defense cando. In response, Carrie's hasn't had
the stalwart defense in the first coupleof games like we're used to seeing.
But you know that sometimes the defensetakes a little while to get things going
and get things jelling. Both ofthese squads have a lot of new faces.

(10:54):
Lima Central Catholic graduated fourteen seniors. They've only got four seniors on the
roster. Two of those are starters. And so their whole offensive line you
mentioned three sophomores and one returning letterwinner from last year. Two juniors on
that offensive line, So that's gonnabe key again watching the offensive and defensive

(11:20):
line, how things are happening inthe pits. So I'll try and keep
my eye on that for you tonight, Kurt. Big part of the game,
no question. Yeah, that's yeah. I know that you'll be watching
for that, and that'll be abig factor in how things ultimately shake out.
I am sure right now. Isee the Blue Devils getting back onto
the field. You know how theylike to do. They like to blast

(11:41):
through and get all these fans allpumped up. It doesn't take much here
in Blue Devil Country. They lovetheir team. They love football and they
know, they know the situation, they know they've got to play a tremendous
game here. They come break anddrew the banner of bringing it over to

(12:05):
the hometown side. About three quartersof the stand already filled and we've still
got a couple of minutes before gametime. Still people coming through the gates.
A beautiful night for football if youcan come out and listen at the
same time, still plenty of seatsto do so with. On the far
side, Lima Catholic didn't travel extremelywell, but they've got a few faithful

(12:28):
over there and we'll look forward toit. Just a really exciting game tonight.
I mean this Lima Central Catholic teameach year, last year state semi
finalist. Are you kidding me?I can't believe there's not poor people that
stands for that, not that farof a drive from Lineman. There you
go. Yeah, they had atremendous year last year. Well, it's
the first September tonight we're at carrythe Blue Devil's hosting the Thunderbirds of Lima

(12:52):
Central Catholic. Lama Central Catholic Thunderbirdshave arrived from Durland County City with a
record of one and one, comingoff a tight forty two when he lost
his past Saturday to the Blue Jaysof Delfos St. John's. The Carry
Blue Devils are hosting their first homegame of the season here and there wine
Doot County Town with an oh andtwo mark coming off a twenty one fourteen
road defeat to the Gallon Tigers.Carry is a member of the North N

(13:13):
ten Athletic Conference and not the rainytwo time champion to the end ten.
Lima Central Catholic competes as an independent. Carry's head coaches Johnathan Mershman in his
seventh season. The HC for theLima Central Catholic is Scott Pualty in his
tenth. The Lima of Central Catholicplayers are wearing white uniforms featuring scarlett and

(13:33):
turquoise, and the Carry players aredressed in their home navies Lima Central Catholic
Thunderbirds, as we noted did whenthe TOAs chose to receive, So the
Carry Blue Devils will kick first fromthe north goal looking at a game time
temperature seventy eight degrees. Yeah, coming out to a big, fast start

(13:58):
is certainly one. I'm a CentralCatholicist, hoping for I'm taking the ball
first, trying to put that pressureon care So we'll see how it works
out. We would like to thankWilson for doctoring the game balls for tonight's
games, as James like to thankour sponsors Game of the Week, Matthews,

(14:22):
Honda, accur On WY and tFM. We'll have plenty of action
tonight. Looking forward to seeing howthey carry defense responds. They played a
pretty good game against Gallion, cameup just a little bit short, all

(14:43):
right, So they're about to setthe ball up on the tee at the
forty yard line for sam Cole.Could be Billy Burke to return, It
could be Milon Cowan's. Yeah,I think they've got Cowens back there,

(15:03):
Isaac Leppard, Matthew Quatt and thenI believe also number nine colors. All
right, so sam Cole's getting intoposition ready to kick things off for Carrie

(15:26):
the junior. Here comes the approach. This s wink through at the right
foot. All this was a shortkick though. Oh there right at the
forty five yard line is line ofCentral Catholic got right on top of that
football, so it's gonna be excellentfield position there. It was J.
J. Schneider's the sophomore who goton top of them special team. So

(15:48):
let's see here. Yeah, itdidn't go the required ten yards so they
could not jump right on it.But short field to start off the ball
game from the carry Blue Devil fortyfive yard line for this high powered offense,
Carson Parker will bring out his squadMatthew Quatman in the backfield and Kerry's

(16:14):
defense sets up in their traditional fourget in position here first and ten forty
five yard line and carry territory forthe first offensive play of this cave.
As Carson Parker has the ball quickrelease, he finds Burke catches across the
forty, drags the defender across thethirty five yard line, and immediately they're
able to come up with the MatthewsHonda Acura first down for Lama Central Catholic.

(16:38):
Yeah, carry is gonna have tohave gang tackling all night tonight.
Bringing these big this big quarterback inthis big receiver down one on one,
very difficult task. They'll carry youfor a while. Being the thirteen to
the thirty two yard line. It'sfirst a ten Lama Central Catholic they go

(16:59):
one in motion Mikey Quittman and theyget into the quarterback. Parker's under some
pressure, but he gets into Mikey. He goes across the thirty to twenty
five twenty yard line trying to puton some moves and then tackle from behind
by Sam Cole. But they areclose to the five yard line. See
where the ultimately mark it clearly enoughfor the Matthews how to accurate first down

(17:19):
and yeah, it's about to bea verse of goal for a line of
Central Catholic eight yard line. They'replacing it. Wow, big pass thirty
two down there. It was justmisdirection. They looked like they were going
to the right, and then theycame back to the left with the pass
and a lot of clear sailing inthe red zone. First send goal from

(17:42):
the eight. Carson Parker alone inthe gun. They said, one in
motion. He has the snap andhe takes off and the runs with the
ball. This time takes on sometacklers and stop shy of the goal line.
They were able to track him down. Connor Norton over there along with
Carter Smiley. Again, you're gonnahave to have gang tackling, especially for

(18:02):
this quarterback. I saw him breakcountless tackles in game film before this game.
He is an all around athlete. He can make you miss in the
backfield when he's going back to pass. He can also make you miss downfield
with his legs as well. Secondand goal from the three four, Lemon
Central Kathli progressive snap hands off toMatthew Quatman all and the Blue Devils roll

(18:27):
for him. Broadman was the firstto wrap him up, and he got
some help from dash Bucket and acouple of others as well. But Bit's
broughtmen a great play defensively for thecarry Blue Temples. Yeah, he leads
the team and tackles for loss withsix make it seven now, But as
you said, he had plenty ofhelp. That's what they're gonna need tonight.
They're gonna need a lot of gangtackling to make sure they wrap these

(18:49):
shifty Central Catholic Thunderbirds up for doIt's no easy task. Well, you
see why Lemon Central Catholic wanted thefirst. But they're facing a third in
goals from the seventh yard line. The one in motion, but the back
has it makes throws, it iscaught and he tries to go. It

(19:15):
bubbles the ball and it is recoveredby Smiley. So Kaden FALKEI unable to
hold on too it and the CarryBlue Devils get the possession. Austin Needercour
made that pop and out to topthe ball right into the end zone,
parties Arter Smiley, the man onthe spot ready for it. So that'll
bring the ball out to the twentyon the touchback. He just wisely covered

(19:37):
it there in the end zone.Of course. Just a beautiful job with
that kid, sure was. Solet's see Carrie Blue Devils getting the ball
at their twenty yard line. Theywere able to keep the Thunderbirds from scoring.
So first drive here for the CarryBlue dep Boles and it is Carter

(20:00):
Smiley who is going to start atquarterback. Hit this one thenning its first
start high snap pass your side andcomplete a bit high there for Sam cole
pass. He had to look backinto the sun also, I mean directly

(20:22):
into the sun. At that angleyou can see the shadows going right back
to the quarterback. And it's lowon the horizon already, the bleachers and
the press box covering about a thirdof the field. So puts it a
second and ten from the twenty Thefirst drive here for Carrie. After stopping
Lemo Central Catholic from the gun,Smiley calls for it has a high snap

(20:48):
hands off the Eli Steen or foron the left side, but the Lemo
Central Catholic was on top of thatnot able to get very far. Looks
like I got to the twenty threeor bring up second and seven Steam comes
in averaging he was great last yearhe averaged five point four yards to carry

(21:10):
and this season trying to look forthe same. But a lot of changes
both offensively and defensively for this carry. Blue devil squad and a little bit
slow and gelling to start the year. Urd and seven from the twenty three
yards high. Neither Koor comes setquarterback Smiley hasn't rolls to the right.

(21:30):
How's the protection from Broadman? Looksup, doesn't appear to find anybody,
tucks and runs down the sideline, cuts its side of the thirty and then
wrapped up and tackled at the sidelineshi of the thirty five. But Carter's
Smiley getting get done with his feetfor the Matthews hunt acker a first down
Yeah, ten yard gains just whatthe doctor ordered there he had absolutely nobody.

(21:52):
That was a good defensive secondary effort, but once he crossed that line
of scrimmage, they didn't come upasked enough. There was one man and
Smiley put on a real nice duketo come back inside and then got another
seven yards for the first stand firstdead ten from the thirty three, going
with Eli Steen, who's now asophomore, and he's able to spin his

(22:14):
way to some good yardage there.Cowans in on the tackle along with Parker
that got up to the forty two. It appears the nine yard gain for
Eli Ste. Yeah, I honestlythink that Kerry is going to have to
do this as much as possible onthe ground for two reasons, to keep
that clock moving and to keep thisother offense off the field. Second and

(22:37):
one, all those snap handled though, and they go with Connor Norton and
he's able to barrel forward. Nicegain for Nordon just Sia midfield to the
forty nine. But it is enoughfor the Matthews Honda Acura first down for
seven yards. Well, Norton,he's a reliable runner. We solved that

(23:03):
a lot lass season, and weget a whistle, got something out onto
the field. I'm not sure ifit just blew through or somebody lost a
towel on the way out. Maybein the player exchange, got it.
It's all right, first to ten, forty nine yard like carry almost at
bidfield, head off to Eli,set off the snap, just Smiley and
Steve trying to fight through and he'sable to pick up a couple of yards

(23:27):
to the forty nine on the otherside of bidfield. First time carry's been
in Thunderbird territory. Yeah, runningthe football. Yeah, that's a big
part of their cutleague card, sothey know where the bread and butter is.
They wanted to keep it going, like you said, So we're it's

(23:51):
seven twelve to go on this firstquarter. It's a first drive for carry
after stopping la'm a Central Catholic.Second down and eight from the forty nine
yard line across midfield, carry withthe ball high snab all goes over the
hand of Smiley, but we getthe whistle blown it to lay a game.

(24:14):
Yeah. Yeah, they had ahard time getting the play in relayed
to the quarterback and then just didn'tget it snapped in time light. So
that's the first penalty of the ballgame, and that will bring up second

(24:37):
and thirteen, replay the down YEPat the forty six yard lines, and
they're back on their own side ofthe field. Under center. Here Smiley
handed off to Eli Steen. It'sacross midfield, taking on the tacklers and
stops at the forty six. EliSteen. He's a tough runner. We

(25:00):
saw that last season for Sua asa freshman six foot or two hundred forty
pounds. He uses it well.I'll bring up third and six after the
seven yard pick up. He gotall the penalty yard at track plus a
couple more, and yeah, you'renot gonna bring him down with one person
either. On the third down playfrom the forty six, on the play

(25:30):
action rolling to the right pass bubbledand incomplete, Steen was trying to gather.
It would have been close to thefirst down marker needed to get to
the forty one. Even if hehad corralled it, I think they would
have still been short. So itlooks like they will go for it on
fourth down. Here Coach Mershman willsend Austin Niederkrrey in with the play,

(26:00):
relaying it to Smiley, and sothey got the third down and five play
here from the forty six as theygo with the power I look, they
pitch it back to Nitrocrep bounces tothe outsider, right, take some tack
of forty and it gets to thethirty five and spills sort of thirty three,
ultimately brought down by Leopard and Cowans. But it is a Matthews how

(26:23):
to accur refers down four, Carrie. I'll tell you what Austin Needercore doesn't
get a ton of carries in thegame, but boy does he made good
on it. He's averaging close toten yards of carry picked up twelve there,
all right, So to the thirtytwo verse ten, Carrie, it's

(26:45):
time they go to Eli Steen onthe run, holds onto the bull and
then met defensively by Kayden FALKEI andto Jayden Williams for the Thunderbirds. Really
no gain on that out. Yeah, there was a fair amount of yardage

(27:07):
gained against this defense. So whiletheir offense is very accomplished, they've only
got thirty five members of their team, and I actually think it's a little
bit less than that with a coupleof players being out and a couple not
even suited up for tonight. Sothey're down to about thirty two thirty three
players, second and ten from thethirty two, he'll Smiley use it to

(27:27):
stiff farm, but Falki was ableto stick with them and bring them down
with a little bit of help atthe end from Matthew'll be third and fourteen
back at the thirty six. Yeah, I got to think about this is
first of all, hang on tothe ball and try and get at least

(27:51):
half year. I think they're obviouslythey showed us they were fourth down mode
earlier and coach Mershman likes to dothose fourth down plays. We'll see what
happens here if he considers it hurting. Fourteen thirty six yard line. Quarterback
has a snap, Smiley, theprotection throws over the middle, caught by
Yad and he is spun down byE J. Jones and it's close.

(28:12):
We'll see Kawhite there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that looks like it
said theaters first catch of the seasontonight. So that actually surprised me.
We had him with four touchdowns inone game last year, and I was
really shocked to see. I didn'thave any receptions down for him before that

(28:33):
one. So he gets his firstone on the home cooking home field so
fourth and one Yeah, twenty threeand it looks like stop paulty. Alim

to the fifteen, it appears bathson the actor. First down for Carrie.

(30:08):
He almost broke that one into theend zone once he cleared that line.
They were all munched up there. They were fortunate that somebody got a
hand on him and he was ableto drag him for a gain of eight
into the red zone. Here wego, Blue Devil. Still no score.
It's the first driver carry and theysnap it back and they hand off

(30:32):
to Eli Steen and he comes rightup the middle. Carson Heffner in there
on that play along with Kayten Johnsonfor Lama Central Catholic offensive line doing a
great job so far. They havebeen at least holding their own on the
pass plays and pushing him back justa few given those runners an opportunity.

(30:56):
Second and eight. It got downto the thirteen. Yes, indeed,
let's see it's a quarterback smightly undersent her hand off Neetercret this time,
and Falki is the one who hangson to him and brings him down to
the field at the ten. You'veneeded Horn Harry drought down to play by

(31:22):
Remember a third and five two thirtysix to go, nose score in this
one first quarter action five and Carrie'sjust been controlling this possession and this is
really exactly what they need to do. Keep that clock moving, keep the
ball moving. They've had a coupleof big fourth down conversions from the ten.

(31:45):
Yeah, third and five and offthe ely Stein powers four looks like
he god, yeah, enough forthe Matthews had to accurate first down to
the three or two yes, indeed, well done for relisteen other five yards

(32:08):
twenty three carries on or twenty threeyards rather on five carries and first and
goal to go. So ball atthe three. Let's see it. First
they go under center, Smiley headsoff to steen all but then he gets
hit by Carson Parker who saw MichaelQuatman in there. A bunch of the

(32:30):
Thunderbirds seemed to be ready for thatplay. Really nice blocking on the left
side. Unfortunately that one went tothe right off tackle and good defense,
good push that time by the defensivefront. They brought in some some of
their heavier weight players the Beefeater package. Second and goal from the three under

(32:59):
center Smiley right back to NOI.He fakes a handof Smiley kept it.
He He's it to the insul forthe touchdown. Second rushing touchdown of the
season for Carter Smiley in the firstscore of this game. Touchdown brought to
you by the Central Ohio Farmer's coHop. I'll keep my eyes on it.

(33:21):
But Eli Steen coming out and holdhis right side, right side ribs.
He definitely did a good fake onthat one Smiley did and he was
able to roll out in the leftflat on touch. Will be the holder
on to try the extra point DanielPlot. He's been great at this so

(33:42):
far this season. It is upand it is through four plots. He's
a perfect four for four on theseason and extra points. So on our
Wilson Tire score board, it iscarry seven limb a Central Catholic zero one

(35:12):
Smiley and the extra point was good. But Daniel plot So it's Sam Cole
getting ready to kick off the ballagain the line of Central Catholic. It
is up and this one the DakotaGerdeman with the fair catch at about the
twenty seven yard lines. So weknow that Carry's eighty yard scoring drive started

(35:37):
with the premiere auptometry group turnover. It was Falki who lost the ball trying
to score, and Carry came upwith it. So Mimo, Central Catholic
knows that they cannot afford to havethat happen again. Carter Smiley seeing the
end zone on both ends of thefield, defensively recovering that fumble and then

(35:57):
with the four yard rollout to theleft side hitting paydirt to quick Carry up
on top. That's an unfamiliar territoryfor this year. So here we go,
starting from the twenty eight art line. It is line of a Central
Catholic. They Carson Parker, hewas in Falky in motion. He comes
set oh and he wants someone elseto go almost yea. As the quarterback

(36:22):
has a ball as Matthew Katman. Here is Parker. He's able to get
away from Norton and then throws iton the move and too far ahead of
Falky at the forty five yard linedown the sideline. Falk stretched out for
it but could not hold on.Alex Putnam with the good coverage out there,
he was really the only one withthe realistic chance at it. Second

(36:45):
and ten as we head toward thefinal minute of this first quarter, two
three thirty seven yards passing in theearly going for Carson Parker. There you
go, all right, You knowhe can get it done in the air.
So second and ten, thirty eightyard line, quick release and it

(37:07):
is caught by Cowan's and Milon Cowensgets across the thirty five. Looks like
they're marking him at the thirty six. The third in short two yards to
go and when they just have twoyards ago. It gives him a lot
of different options with all these weapons. One you definitely have to watch for

(37:31):
it's been quiet so far is BillyBurke. If he gets his hands on
the ball. Look out third andtwo Parker. Since mikey Kuatman in motion
quarterback keeps it himself. Does Parkerruns into Broadman right near that first down

(37:54):
Marker. I think he's got it. Yes, they are giving it to
him. Matthews, Honda act, you're a first down at the thirty eight
yard laws. Good job by carrythough a lot of group tackling going on
there. His forward progress did carryhim right to that thirty eight yard line,
so it was first and ten.Now the shadows actually can be a

(38:16):
little bit problematic, and this isscenario oh waits at the end of the
end of the first Yeah, that'lldo it. For the first quarter.
I'll play on our Wilson Tire scoreboard. It is carry seventh. I'm Essential
Catholic zero. We'll be back forthe start of the second quarters. About

(39:44):
Week sort off the second quarter herefrom carry Blue Devil's lead at seventh to
nothing on Lima Central Catholic to visitCubter Firs throughout the football for said ten
thirty eight yard line going to anotherdirection here starting off the second quarter,

(40:05):
Parker has the snap handing off toMatthew Quatman, but it is Broadman in
there on the tackle along with KylerBows. I think Bows was actually the
first to hit him there. Number. Yeah, you're gonna hear those names
a lot along with leading away withtackling for the Blue Devil defense. Yeah,

(40:30):
so that's the way they gotta doit. No gain right there.
Second and ten from the thirty eightCarson Parker alone and the gun has the
snap under pressure from Brodman. Hethrows it up does Parker looking for Cowen
tags in the air and makes agrab downfield. Colwyn's all the way to

(40:51):
the thirty three yard line, maybethe thirty two. Whow want to play?
That's why you're so nervous on defenseagainst a player like Parker, and
he has all these options, andCowan's is one of the top ones.
He had four catches in their gameagainst UH Shawnee and couple of those were

(41:13):
touchdowns. Thirty yard pick up that'sat the thirty two yard line and carry
territory first at ten line of CentralCatholic down seven zip. Quarterback has a
shotgun snap, fakes the hand off, the steps into a throw down field
looking for park off his right handin completes and Carter Smiley was over there

(41:35):
in coverage four. Carrie Hellong withSam Coles. Yeah, real big height
mismatch when you're looking at Carter Smiley. Sam Cole is still four inches shorter
than Burke at the receiver. Solook for them to try that over the
middle again. Yeah, Burke,it's six foot six and and he's he's
got the hops. I mean,he can get up there and do it.

(41:55):
He is. He's a tremendous player, but Carry is hanging tough on.
I'm right down. So we've gotsecond down in ten from the thirty
two. Oh, there's was amovement there. It's moved I think on
the left side. I think Cowlswill be flagged. But unless they ruled
it, Carry drew him off.Oh, you're right, it's against the
offense. I saw the far sidethere, Cowles lined up in the slot

(42:20):
and he had no idea what thecount was. He was a yard deep
and everybody else jumped. Then fromCarrie, gotcha. So puts the ball
back at the thirty seven yard line, stealing Carry territory. Obviously, just
some minute eight seconds gone by inthe second quarter, trailing at seven to
nothing. As lima Central Catholic,I was a second and long here at

(42:42):
quarterback. As a snap rolls tothe right, dust Parker und pressure from
Brobin, a little jump throw downfield and that went his way off.
He wanted Mikey Quittman there. There'sa penalty flag down on the field.
I think we got a personal fouland it's going against Carried. I think
I saw the reaction. I don'tknow what the action was roughing the passer.

(43:06):
Huh okay, well yeah, becausethe quarterback got back up and h
pushed Broadman. Brodman just kind ofraised his hands like, what come on?
Well that uh, that obviously helpsthe li'm a Central Catholic big time.
Yes, it does result in theMatthews Honda Acura first down to the

(43:29):
twenty two. Yeah, okay, yep, so still early in the second
quarter, ten forty three to goon the second quarter, linem of Central
Catholic getting closer, trailing get sevento nothing at carry high snap handled by
Parker, takes it himself to runcut to the left side, twenty down
town to fifteen and stopped at thefourteen. It does appear in Kyler Bows

(43:52):
and Austin Needercore over there for carryand there you'll see it took more than
wanted to bring him down. Broadmanhit him first, Dwayne Gibson hit him.
They could have had him in thebackfield. Neither could wrap him up.
He's just shifting, Yeah he is. I mean, he's got a
lot of time. He just hasso much joy for this game. And

(44:16):
yeah, he's not the one who'sgonna be discouraged even when things are a
little bit tough early on. Sohere we go. I'm the fourteen second
down step it gets by Parker,He's got to pick it up, and
does, and he's running for hislife and gets away for putting it up
in the tackle. Look like counterNordon was there to the ball come out.
I think they rule it down. They ruled it down. There is

(44:39):
no one else they need to discuss. He wanted that ball. The only
way that I could see that thatwas down is if they ruled his forward
progress. His knees were up inthe air when that ball came out.
There was no way his shoulder wasoff the field, his knees were.

(45:00):
I mean, he was horozonal withthat hint. And that's one area where
being a great athlete, you thinkyou can get out of everything. And
he tried, and he's very fortunatethat they still have the ball. A
ball back at the thirty seven eightytwenty five yards for first down, third
down, here's a quarterback, Parkerunder pressure again from problement. Flight does

(45:23):
come out. Let's see un Quarkswent down field one on one and caught
in the end zone by Calvin's whenwe oh, and they ruled him out.
Abounts anyway, So we had aflag to deal with verse, but
it wasn't gonna be a touchdown anywayif it was against carry. No the
penalties against line of Central Catholic anyway, so even if he was ruled in

(45:45):
balance, it wouldn't have counted.Wow, a lot was going on there.
Yeah, I think the referee inthe back of the end zone also
missed the push off by the receiverclearly both arms fully extended before he hauled
that one in. It was It'sa great acrobatic catch, but just out
of the end zone. So becausehe was ruled out of bounds there,

(46:07):
it enables Carrie to just decline ithere. That's what they do, so
that will bring out the punter, who is the quarterback. So you always

(46:30):
have to be aware of trickery againstlima Central Catholic. He can easily throw
that ball to the end zone rightfrom where he stands. Oh, no,
no question, no question, hecan. I saw him on Quirk
a fifty yarder and it looked absolutelyeffortless. All right, let's see it.
He's one of those here. Yeah, that's a nice looking punt,

(46:52):
and neither Courts is gonna watch thisone. Oh wow, and that one
stops inside the five. Well donefor line of Central Catholic. There long
field up coming for Carrie. That'sactually a good decision by Nittercore. The
only way he was going to getthat one was going to be running and
maybe even diving to get it atthe ten yard line. Take your chances,

(47:12):
maybe it goes into the end zone. This time he lost on that
gamble, but still a good betoverall because they maintained possession. Oh yeah,
well here you go back at thefour yard line, but at least
they keep the lead up seven tonothing with nine twelve to go in the

(47:35):
second quarter. First at ten andthey go on the ground on the near
side with Austin Neercore to the eleven. Yeah. I really like Nittercore.
He has always run extremely hard. You'll see him come out of a slot
position as receiver position at times, and also he'll line up up in that

(48:00):
straight eye formation, full house eye. Second and four from the eleven under
center Smiley for Carrie, hunted offthis time to Connor Norton spills Ford across
the fifteen and yeah, it lookslike he got enough for the Matthews Honda
accurate first town. Sure did goodjob there for Connor Norton eight number yards

(48:28):
and that's another Matthews Honda accurate proachdown fifteen yards for Norton. Couple of
carries all right, first and tenfrom the sixteen quarterback has it here,
fakes a handoff. Smiley rented himselfthis time and it hit immediately by Josh

(48:50):
Young at the twenty yard line.Pick up a four yards for Smiley and
number thirty. Yeah, fair amountyardage gained against this Thunderbird defense. And
this is the kind of game thatcarry would just love to keep continuing if
they're able to be able to weardown this team. They don't have a

(49:13):
ton of players on that far sideline, so each run you do, you
know, Carrie's got quite a fewmore players. So they obstitute at will
second and six from the twenty handedoff to Steen E. J. Jones
the first agreed him defensively and hegot some help from Jayden Williams for Elem
of Central Catholic to stop made atthe twenty two yard line. It does

(49:35):
appear, so that'll bring up thirdand three, maybe three and a half.
Looks like it's a little bit overthe twenty five where they need to
get to almost to twenty six.Ye about the twenty six yard line,
yep, all right, try toget those four yards here on third down

(49:55):
from the twenty two Carrie lead againstseven to nothing in this second quarter and
the Ears I passic completely looking fordominic Yeater at the twenty five office right
hand falls and complete it breaks offfour down, four carry play and they
will punt it away this time. There you go, yep, dropping back

(50:20):
to kick. Kyler Bows averaging justunder thirty yards of kids this season for
LCC number fourteen and number nine college. All right, we'll see this a
leg here for Kyler Bozie. Knowall, they fake it here, they're
gonna run it with putter Smiley andlet's see did he get to the twenty.

(50:46):
It's gonna be really close. Ithink they gave more forward progress than
I thought he had. But let'ssee where they actually put the ball down
on the field line. Judge comes, Oh, let's see. Yeah,
it's it's where they spotted all thegoss. That's close. I can't tell
from here. They're gonna measure. That's the right thing to do. We'll

(51:06):
call this a quest. Federal CreditUnion time out, even though it's just
to bring the chains across stoppage inthe action, give Carry some time to
regroup, but cuts the call.Yeah you know, yeah, yeah,
you can never count Mershman out.He likes to roll the dice. If

(51:30):
you make it, you're a geniusand got it. Whoa half a foot
by? Yeah, just that amount? Well, Matthews accurate first down?
Yes, indeed, okay, hehad a four yard touchdown run and adds

(51:52):
that four yard pick up for afirst down. So moving the chains verstaid
ten and I'll play here for Nortoncross the thirty yard line. Stopped at
the thirty four. So Connor Nortonso important to keep him involved in the

(52:16):
allfense with his running ability, hereally knows how to follow those blockers.
That's such a good job of thatsecond down here, right back to Norton.
It's away from one tackler but thenbrought down by Matthew Quatman. Yeah,
the flag helps out. That mightbe exactly what it is. Let's

(52:36):
see. Nope, they got ahold on the carry. Blue devil line
be a ten yard that's all right. You see Carry go back to their
huddle. They're clapping down we'll pickeach other up. I love to see
that. That's one of my favoritethings that Carry does. They don't get
down on each other. They tryand pick each other up. It doesn't

(52:58):
matter what the record is, whetheryou're eleven and ozer or oho and two
to start off the season. Yes, that type of team culture that you
build, that's how you're able toget out of the challenging start to the
season. It's a long season andthey've worked hard to be out here to
do this. So here we go. It looks like, yeah, from

(53:20):
the twenty yard line, second downunder center, Smiley roles that are right,
that's inside, but Falki is ableto grab them and take them down
at the twenty five. So yeah, lost on that one there, number
one, park In number thirty, well, and you see Parker over there

(53:45):
on defense as you do Smiley forthe counterparts Carry Blue Devils. They play
every down pretty much. Yeah, that's the thing. Yeah, it u
It definitely takes a toll. There'sno question it does. All right.
So third down eleven from twenty fiveyard line with five twenty eight to go
in the second quarter, Carry tryingto add to the seven to nothing lead,

(54:07):
snaps back from the shotgu to Smileyand then steps into a throw down
field. Look at christ bandaians trodits copy neater Core and he's tackling side.
That's twenty by Josh Young, buta huge play for the Carrie Blue
Devils. A Matthews hold, accuratefirst towel fifty seven yards, perfectly thrown

(54:30):
pass. He lofted it up there. I'll oh Jim Plunket way back in
the day. It was a rainbowshot, but Needercore was at the end
of that rainbow. Till want toplay there first and ten from the eighteen
sat back to Smiley handing it offhere to Nortons, gets out of a
tackle from Hefner and then fights througha few more before being brought down at

(54:53):
the ten yard line. Falki wasover there. Make that play for a
line of Central Cathol. But yeah, the carry offense, we're really starting
to cook here. Garden picks upnine second and one just inside the ten
yard line. Yeah, I gotto the nine yard line on that play.

(55:14):
Wow, my second and one.Let's see at quarterback. They snap
it back to Puttingham and Alex Puttinghamimmediately gets drilled after taking the snap,
Kayden Alki was right there to makethe hit, putting him a little slow

(55:36):
getting up that time. Definitely ahard hitting ball game. I would want
to mention Steen is back out there. He's been playing this whole series.
I thought he might have got hershot in the ribs on that Smiley touchdown
run. So from the ten ortwo and their center, Smiley hands it

(55:58):
off to Steen and here he runup the gun and he steamed into the
insol for a ten yard touchdown. He lie thirty five yards on the night.
Put the exclamation point on that onefor the touchdown. With three fifty
to Dope, thirteen to nothing,Carrie Blue Devils with the lead. With
the extra point pending, Smiley comesout and he'll be the holder. Touchdown

(56:22):
brought to you by the Central OhileFarmers co Op. As we get the
extra point of coming Daniel Plott,he made the first one swings through Nope,
and he's got the second one.Wow. So he's five for five

(56:43):
on the season. Well, hefooled us there and us so on our
Wilson entire score board it is fourteento nothing. Carrie leads Lima Central Catholic
three fifty to go until halftime matter. Matthews hot Aaker gave the week on
Magic at ninety five the Matthews HondaAcura High School Game of the Week at

(57:10):
School Football Magic at ninety five, nine fifty to go until halftime to carry,
Blue Devils leading at fourteen to nothing, Eli Stein getting his second rushing
touchdown of the season, his firston this night, the other touchdown coming
from Carter Smiley. So yeah, blue Devils looking good. Yeah, and

(57:40):
perhaps the numbers are really helping aswell for Carry and obviously playing at home
and really wanting to get this. There's still a long way to go before
claiming victory. But hey, ifyou told him before the game that dude
be up fourteen zip, they say, okay, we'll take that, especially
with only three minutes to go.You've held this high powered offense that's scoring

(58:02):
forty points a game to zero inthe first half, and I have you
know, previous years we're used tosee in a lot of quarters with zero,
but looks like they're gonna squib thisone. The football is placed on
its side. You don't see thatvery often that Celi doesn't. Yes,
that's exactly it. Right on theforty here he comes with the approach yep,

(58:25):
and they try it, and yes, it is recovered by Gerteman right
at the forty yard line for LamaCentral Catholic. So three minutes, fifty
seconds remaining until halftime. Lama CentralCatholic, the Thunderbirds, they know they
gotta get some points, gotta getsome points on the board. Stein with

(58:47):
that Central Ohio Farmers co op touchdown, second rushing touchdown of the game for
Carrie. And this is just perfect, Kirk. I mean, they are
keeping the opponents off the field. They're putting together long drives. They've gone
for it on fourth down at leastthree times that I can recall, So

(59:07):
one heck of a night so far. By this carry Blue Devil offensive line
first and ten thirty nine yard line. They've marked his snap, his back
to Parker from the gun, undersome pressure from putting them being chased by
Brodmin throws it and it's incomplete.Broadman may have gotten his hands on that
ball as it was being thrown,as it took a little bit of a
wobble in the air and fell atmidfield. When you've got quarterback imploring his

(59:35):
line, Hey, you guys gotto do a better job. He had
one person that he was able tospin away from, but he couldn't get
away from Broadman in that time. The contact came before the ball was released,
so no personal foul for Broadman, just a beautiful tackle for loss.
There. He leads the team witheight. Well done, there, no
questions. So second and ten fromthe thirty nine. Of course, at

(59:58):
Parker and the gun, he's sendingout three receivers left side, but the
hands off to Matthew Quatman to theforty bounces out and gets hit by Carter.
Smiley's able to spring forward to theforty four yard line. Maybe mark
about the forty three. But welldone for Smiley to stop what it could
have been a bunch larger game forQuatsman. Second and six, Yeah,

(01:00:27):
I've got quite a few negative numberson my stat sheet tonight, so this
defense definitely came to play. Theywere allowing more points than sometimes we see
in two or three games over thecourse of the first two games. And
that's gonna be a time out calledfor with three minutes and two seconds left.
Oh yeah, we'll take that question. Four credit Union time out fourteen

(01:00:50):
to nothing. Carrie Lee's Lemonsons withCatholic as we hit toward halftime, it's
our Matthew South Aacker game the week, I'll magic ninety five nine. As

That's one eight hundred two five eighttwo two one three and as always

(01:02:07):
reading A fourteen and music for theThunderbirds went the football. Third and six
from the forty three yard line intheir own territory. Carson Parker from the
gun, has a waist high snap, looks at the right, pumps fires
over the middle incomplete trying to getinto Matthew Quittman. But good from Boston

(01:02:29):
Theater Tour. That was excellent,d and he's lucky to still have his
head. Both players went up withtheir arms for the ball and Niercore got
his hands on it first and thereceiver then cut across his face mask in
his arms. You know he didn'tgrab onto it, but boy he really
knocked him back too, so bothplayers colliding and heading towards the ground,

(01:02:53):
but carry coming up with the ballon his fourth down play, assuming the
punt actually happens. Fourth and sixfrom the forty three and the punt is
happening from Carson Parker up in theair, bounces inside the twenty, hitting
to the fifteen in a while, and it's going to the eleven yard line.
That's where it ultimately is picked upby Andrew Bover. He got young

(01:03:21):
players on both sides, and rightnow Carry's winning the battle. They've got
fourteen to nothing lead. They've gotthe ball back with two forty six to
go. Now do we see somepasses. We'll see what happens with this
offense or if they're going to becontent to stay on the ground. They've
been moving it effectively on the ground. Of course, you don't want to
make a mistake with this ball inthis kind of territory. Two forty six

(01:03:46):
to go until halftime. First atten, Carrie, we've known twelve yard
line eating at fourteen to nothing, and they got to Smiley. The carback
runs it himself. Tackle by KaydenFalkey, shy of the twenty yard line.
Looks like it's at the eighteen.Good pickup though, Gotta like that

(01:04:08):
good blocking up front. Natercore comesout. Norton comes in with the play.
Second down and four from the eighteen. Yes, so under center,

(01:04:29):
Smiley rolls that lift in the past, it is a bit high for Butch
Broadman. At the thirty Yard Live, it was Isaac Leppard in his face.
He had to get rid of thatball. He just hoped that Broadman
would turn around fast enough. AndYator was also in the neighborhood there,
so I'm not sure who that wasreally intended for. Probably just let me

(01:04:50):
get rid of it and hit somegreen space if I don't get you,
guys, good choice by Smiley.Third and four from the eighteen area,
up fourteen to nothing. Too awaitto go until a halftime, Carter,
Smiley Anderson, our whistle looks likewe've got a carried time out. We'll

(01:05:10):
keep it here this time with twoaway to go until halftime, and obviously
coming up we're gonna have our ReinsuranceAgency halftime show, so we'll have some
scores from around the area. It'sa halftime huddle, which is a state
by report for us, so wealways enjoyed that. And yeah, a

(01:05:32):
lot of interesting games in the areathat uh yeah, really excited to see
what those scores are. And youknow, you just never know going into
a game. You may have anexpectation one way or another, and uh,
they can surprise you. Yeah. You look at the non conference games,
and you look at this intend conference. It looks topsy turvy to what

(01:05:54):
we're used to seeing as far aswho's on top and who's not. But
of course conference play won't start untilnext week, so week number four,
and that's right. Yeah, thisseason is moving. So let's see if
they come out in any different set. Looks still like the power eye formation
Bard and four from the eighteen yardline. Carry at fourteen to nothing late

(01:06:17):
here in this second quarter, andthe ball comes out and let's see,
it looks like Carry has recovered it. Yep, some Blue Devils keeping possession.
I don't think Smiley ever handled itoff that center exchange. Of course,
Smiley in for his first action atquarterback. So just not all the

(01:06:40):
kinks worked out there yet, butvery good first half by these Carry Blue
Devils. So fourth down and Iimagine they will have to boot it away
in this kind of field position.John Mershman has proved me wrong in the
past, though, well, yeah, he's his own ideas. I'd tell

(01:07:00):
you that I was. I'm aCentral Catholic with this a quest part of
Credit Union time out. Yeah,This is really uh, you know something
that you know. I'm a CentralCatholic. Theydn't know. They've got to
have some significant adjustments coming out ofthe break, especially given a carry's got
to have the football starting off athird quarter. We do expensive here we

(01:07:24):
go, tire their boys back toboot it away. Yeah, Burke is
back to receive, and this timehe does indeed do it. He puns
it and on the approach catch madeby Billy Burke around the forty five yard
line and Carry territory, it lookslike that's exactly where they're marking the ball

(01:07:44):
with one fifty four to go untilthe break. So just a twenty seven
yard kick but no return. Andwhen he got speedsters like Burke back there,
that's a pretty good trade. Yeah, you're right, Yeah, I

(01:08:06):
always gotta respect him out there forsure. All Right, So first had
ten forty five yard line in Carrieterritory with one fifty four to go until
a halftime. The line of CentralCatholic, still needing some points, right
think, gets fourteen two nothing. The quarterback Purker has the snap from the
gun chase by Broadman. Hey,here comes dash Bucket who brings him down

(01:08:26):
to the turf. A big lossright there, forty eight yard line.
Well, dash Pucket showing the speed, and he just drilled him and they
gave him some forward progress there andthen I'm not sure he deserved. They're
just a one yard loss. Yeah, it looked to me like it was
gonna be a three yard loss, but uh yeah, the officials were there

(01:08:49):
at Saul where he went out.So here we go, second down to
eleven, forty six yard live, one twenty to go, untill a halftime
down, fourteen to nothing. Liemy central Catholic. Here rad carry we
were shod left two to the right. Quarterback Carson Parker has the snap test
high under some pressure from Punna sinceit minds a safety pound underneath. It
is Hefner and Carson Hefner taking onsome tacklers and he has stopped inside the

(01:09:12):
thirty five yard line. It isa Matthews Hanta Accura first down marked at
the thirty four. A twelve yardpickup verst and ten from the thirty four
in motion Mikey Quatman, he comessaid. Quarterback Parker has the snap helmet
high, moves to the left. The rush is coming to throw caught by

(01:09:35):
Matthew Quatman inside tackle made by Kylerbows Right at the twenty seven yard law
still two timeouts left, or checkedthat no timeouts left, so they've got
to keep the ball going here.I thought Carry called that last time out
our girl throw middle tipped by Nortonand it falls incomplete. Looked just for

(01:10:00):
a moment that maybe Putnam was ableto get underneath it. But the ball
fell a little bit faster than Iwas thinking that it might in that situation.
Does stop the clock at twenty fourseconds. In this second quarter,
as we get towards half time,it was gonna be third and three from
the twenty seven. See how theyattack it down fourteen to nothing. I'm

(01:10:30):
like Carson Parker has the helmet highsnaff, rolls to the right under some
pressure, throws it hi carab madeby Burke near the ten yard line.
Excellent coverage there. He had Nordonunderneath, need a core on top,
but he still went up and caughtit with that big six five frame.
Got to the twelve. Matthews hanAcura first down first at ten from the

(01:10:54):
twelve yard line, then spikes theball to stop the clock. I'm not
sure what they're looking at number seventysix, took two steps forward and no
penalty flag. Well we've got thirteenseconds left here. Yeah, I thought
John Mershman's coaching staff was gonna comeout onto the field after that one to

(01:11:17):
show them the picture. Second andten from the twelve, well, they
got to be on alert here. The Parker has the snap litch to the
left under pressure from Broadman, throwsto the dzel but two far ahead of
Matthew Quatman incomplete, leaving seven secondson the clock. Third down, third

(01:11:45):
and ten from the twelve. It'sthe clock gotta watch for here. If
you're a line of Central Catholic.Obviously easily they'll go for it on fourth
down if they don't get it here, but they've got to have enough time.
Yeah, without an incomplete pass, they'll never get it off. So
if if you've either got to goout of bounds, so you've got to

(01:12:05):
look for the sidelines on this playor the end zone. Third and ten
from the twelve, from the gun, Parker has a sad whistle procedure.
I'm not sure all their unna yellthe clock. They gonna set it to

(01:12:29):
seven seconds. Yeah, it's justone of those administrative things and uh,
make a good job out officiating crewto pick up on that, and half
the coaching staff. Yeah, it'slike hey, hey, right, hey,
that's exactly right. So they willget that adjusted. They had done
so seven seconds remaining until halftime.I'm essential Catholic. With the ball third

(01:12:55):
and ten twelve yard line heading towardthe end zone, but only seven seconds
and all the break total prevent defensehere. Quarterback has the snap, Parker
has the protection. Yes, thethrows low. Does Matthew Katman hold on
No, it's incomplete. Yeah, you gon't able to hold on to it
anyway, leaving two seconds on theclock. Holy cow, that was a

(01:13:18):
long seven I'm not sure how thathappened that. I definitely seemed like seven
seconds to me. Well, Iused to have to count for being in
a high school basketball referee to thetimeline. It's usually pretty accurate. There
you go. Well, then theleast it does give an opportunity here for

(01:13:44):
Matthew quam Fry for a field goaltwenty eight yard attempt does not go that
carry, Blue Devils get the stopand they head into the brake so far
pitching us out. Amazing job bythe carry Blue Devil defense. This entire

(01:14:05):
half, Holy Cow, that wasjust fabulos. That's how you play it,
that's how you do it. Sothe Carry Blue Devil's Yeah, give
him credit. They got a jobdone Forster and we expect though we're receiving
the ball first when we come backfor the second half. But right now

(01:14:26):
it is halftime, so we getyou ready for our Reinsurance Agency halftime show

(01:17:36):
spend the next several minutes with us, says. We talk high school football
with somebody who knows better and morethan just about anybody else. He's a
well known coach really around the state, but especially in northeast Ohio, currently
at Columbiana High School, and heserves as the president of the Ohio High
School Football Coaches Association as well.We welcome Bob Spit to the program.

(01:17:59):
Coach, good to have you withus. Thank you for having me on.
I appreciate the opportunity. A highprofile issue, and I'm going to
call the confrontation, but the expansionof the playoffs a couple of years ago
to where sixteen teams per region arenow in the playoffs was one of the
more publicized spats, if you will, between the Coaches Association and the oways

(01:18:23):
SAA and and I think generally thecoaches have still not come around on it,
if you will, talk about thecoaches and the sixteen teams per region
and just where's the association on that? Are you still against it? Yeah,
we still think it's a very badidea where we're good soldiers, will

(01:18:43):
we'll do what we'll do, whatwe're told to do. But if you
ask our opinion, I don't.I think the overwhelming majority or more would
would would would voice the opinion thatsixteen is just too many. It's not
it turns into a participle. Patienttrophy would always set us apart. We
were always proud of the fact thatthat football was different. You had to

(01:19:05):
play your way into the playoffs, you had to earn their way into the
playoffs. The state will say it'sall about opportunities were kids. Well,
some opportunities aren't very good. That'skind of our position, especially in Division
one, where you know, youhave eighty schools in the region, sixteen
of them make it. That justdoesn't sit well with a lot of guys.
Yeah, And for the record, for those that don't recall, the

(01:19:27):
association's position was that you thought twelveteams is as large as the field should
be. And I don't know ifyou guys were necessarily proponents of going from
eight to twelve, but you wereokay with twelve at the time. Well,
right, There was a long andvery thoughtful discussion within the association we
have and myself and coach kab Lanskifrom from Fanfield did a lot of research.

(01:19:51):
We went back and looked and whilewe thought twelve was, you know,
not ideal, there were several peopleI wouldn't say it was. It
wasn't unanimous, but it was.It was a seventy five and eighty percent
majority of the association thought, Okay, when you look at it, okay,

(01:20:12):
there's gonna be a few four andsix, five and five teams get
in. But on a twelve teamformat, you've got to if you finished
number twelve, you're gonna play twogames before you end up banging up against
number one. And at that stage, maybe maybe that's something you would you
would look forward to. This ideaof number sixteen taken on one. I
just I don't think any of ourcoaches feel that that's a good situation we're

(01:20:36):
talking about. Bob Spady is thehit football coach at Columbiana High School,
the Clippers, and he's also thepresident of the Ohio High School Football Coaches
Association. I thought that the waythat that played out, you know,
however it happened, I thought thebiggest shame about it is I think the
association felt that they sort of gotplayed on that deal, and that that

(01:21:00):
still lingers a little well. Idon't want to be too harsh publicly on
but yeah, it was kind ofa surprise. I let's just say we
were surprised, right, we met, we discussed this. They asked questions
at well, why not sixteen. We gave them well thought out, lucid
answers as to why we thought twelvewould be the most that we would ever.

(01:21:21):
A lot of people were in favorof keeping it eight. They're evil,
sorry, and some coaches that werefeel we're in kind of in favor
of going back to for and makingit a real you know, you have
to be really the real deal toget in and then, you know,
so there was some back and forthon that when but no one thought sixteen

(01:21:43):
was a good idea. We're talkingabout Bob Spite, president of the Ohio
High School Football Coaches Association, coach. Another issue that I talked with Doug
Ute about over the past couple ofweeks that came up as the reimbursement for
teams and tournament play, and youknow, he talked about how that hadn't
happened for a couple of years, and last year there was a small recompense

(01:22:04):
and they hoped to make it biggerin the future. But obviously you guys
are advocating for that, but explainto folks that in the past some of
that cost of going to the playoffswould be covered by the HSAA, and
then and then it wasn't. Hopefullyit's coming back. But it costs a
lot of money to go deep inthe playoffs, doesn't it. It does,

(01:22:24):
indeed, especially now that you're playingand which the other thing we are
just against that sixteen games is justnot good. The NFL doesn't. Grown
men professionals don't play sixteen weeks ina row. Right, BCS, big
time college, they don't play sixteenweeks in a row. You're asking high

(01:22:45):
school kids do that. You're askinghigh school coaches that basically high school coaches,
if you look at it, youbasically cut your salary in half because
we don't get compensated anymore. Andmoney is not the UC as far as
us personally, but the expense ofwhen the playoffs first started, you got
to home and away teams got mealmoney. Uh, if you hosted a

(01:23:08):
game, there was a percentage ofgame for ticket sales that went to the
home school, there was a percentageof sales that went to the the visiting
school. The visiting school got bussinglooking for the band. There was an
accounting for there was the state paidfor the workers et cetera, et cetera,
et ceter of the whole thing,COVID hit understandable things had to change.

(01:23:32):
We get that going just two yearsago as an example, booster clubs
are always going to do what boosterclubs do. Uh Kirklan High School state
champion. Their booster club was basicallybroke at the end of the at the
end of the football season. Theyhad to put the bill entirely for busses

(01:23:53):
and charter busses and the stuff thatyou do and and that you should do
to the kids to make it asenjoyable. When you have to travel and
you get to the state tournament, you're in a hotel sometimes And we've never
said that you should get rich onThe coaches understand that, but it shouldn't
be at least a zero sum game. It's at least to be a break

(01:24:16):
even proposition to win a state championship. You shouldn't put your athletic department in
the hall to do that. Now, the state tried to the state is
made a little conversation last year andseems to be moving in the right direction.
But hopefully they'll they'll see the they'llsee the wisdom that you shouldn't be

(01:24:39):
penalized financially for being good. That'sjust the bottom line. Of course.
Coach Spate hasn't heard my talks thelast couple of weeks at halftime with the
executive director Doug Yute because he's beenbusy coaching up the Clippers. But I'm
going to send you what I talkedabout with Doug. Coach and they are
that they are saying that there's goingto be more money back to the schools

(01:25:00):
and that's a good thing. Yeah, sure, yeah it is, And
I'm glad they realize that they're they'relistening at least, and maybe there's a
valid reason. Maybe they needed toget to the twenty million dollars in the
bank before they felt they were comfortabledoing it. I'm not privilege of their
finances, and I certainly wouldn't wantto second guess their motives or anything else

(01:25:21):
like that. There might very wellbe some legitimate reason that they felt they
needed to hold on to so mostof that money. I don't know.
We'll have more with Coach State onthe halftime huddle next week. We'll take
a break, come back and wrapit up here on a Igheart Radio.

(01:26:28):
Right now, you stay here,We're headed back to live coverage of
your game here on iHeartRadio, theMatthews Honda Acura High School Game of the
Week, All Magic ninety five nine. Here from Carry. It's a research
agency half time. So at thehalf, it's Carrie leading Limby Central Catholic

(01:26:53):
fourteen to nothing. But Jim,I'm kirking. Yeah, I mean,
obviously blue devils. They did agreat job of controlling the ball on offense
and works of clock. Yeah, absolutely, just what the doctor ordered.
That's absolutely what they needed to dowas try to control this high powered offense
by using up as much of theclock as they could. I had three

(01:27:17):
fourth down conversions and they didn't dobad on third down conversions either. But
he combined those two and they hadover seventy percent of their drives or seventy
percent of their third or fourth downsconverted overall. So kept the drives alive,
got him two scores and they leadedfourteen to nothing. And if you

(01:27:40):
told me at the beginning of thisthat Carter Smiley would be two for six
with seventy one yards, I'd say, ah, not that great. But
his counterpart, Carson Parker, weknow he can throw the ball all over
the field. He is only sevenfor seventeen so incompleted more classes that he
completed, and he has one hundredand nine yards. They actually have negative

(01:28:03):
yards on the ground, negative thirteenoverall rushing. So just an outstanding job
by this defensive line. And thenthe linebackers of course, you know,
coming in to finish it up andget some big plays for loss, huge
plays for loss, making the quarterbacksthrow the ball earlier than he wanted to.
They were able to come up withone. It should have been two

(01:28:26):
fumbles near the end of a firsthalf. That second one, there's no
way in heck he was down unlessthey were calling his forward progress stop because
he was totally horizontal, hadn't hitthe ground, and the bag came out
and he was still in the air. So I'm not sure just exactly how
he was down again unless they ruledforward progress being stopped. But I did

(01:28:48):
not hear a whistle, so Ireally question that call. But nonetheless,
still a very good half, agood outcome for the carry Blue Devils at
fourteen to nothing, and you knowthey're fortunate because h you know, they
have moved the ball fairly well.On the other side, for the Thunderbirds,
they were all the way down inthe end zone before that, or

(01:29:11):
almost to the end zone when thatfumble was caused into the end zone that
Carter Smiley recovered. Then they wereable to drive eighty yards back the other
way. And you don't get toomany fourteen point swings that you could come
back from and then carry able toadd another touchdown on top of that,
so really take away the touchdown theycould have had. You've got a twenty
one point differential in that half.Carry Blue Devil defense just coming up absolutely

(01:29:36):
huge and doing it on their own. As far as you know, the
tackles for loss, they've probably doubledtheir total on the season tonight already in
the first half. They've really donea great job. There were a total
of thirteen negative thirteen yards and theamount of rushes was eight, so a

(01:30:01):
negative one point six average in thefirst half and only ninety six yards total
offense for this Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirdteam. And you look at their previous
games, each of them over fourhundred yards total offense, and you know,
just absolute dominance by this defense. That's what we're used to seeing in

(01:30:23):
the carry defense. They start offon the road a couple of things.
You got a lot of underclassmen, you've got a lot of new players,
and this Lima Central Catholic fighting thesame thing. They are one and one
carry unfortunately came up shy against Gallion, or they might have been one and
one, but this Lima Central Catholicteam could be two and oh and of

(01:30:43):
course they play in Division seven,so this is quite a challenge for them,
and to start off three road gamesabsolutely brutal, especially with the level
of competition they faced. So myhats off two of them them. You're
not going to see any quit outof this life of Center of Catholic team.
Joe Palty, he is just anoutstanding coach, has been for ten

(01:31:03):
years there and he keeps things coming, even after having fourteen seniors graduate last
year. Yeah, that's not easyfor any program to try to overcome,
but it does help that one ofthe seniors he still has his Carson Parker
rawl what a player scores And thenwe'll come back and get some statistics here
before we got four minutes left inthe halftime show here with the band.

(01:31:28):
Yeah, so we talked about Gallaghanand yeah, they are just really strong.
Galllean leading Upper Sandusky thirty four tosix at this point. Some other
scores we've got, Yeah, Tipman, Margaretta and Mohawk. These two programs
are not faced in six years, but this Marcarretta with a six to nothing
lead on Mohawk. Last time thosetwo teams played in twenty seventeen. Mohawk

(01:31:53):
did get the win, but we'llsee what happens this time around. Ontario
up huge on Medicine Comprehensive thirty oneto nothing. Colonel Crawford leading East Knox
twenty eight to seven. Is twentyeight to twelve lead for Western Reserve over
Winford. We know the Winford Royalscome to carry next week game, but
we do plan to bring you onMagic ninety five nine. Bellevue up on

(01:32:17):
Shelby twenty one to fourteen. We'vegot Buckeye Valley leading Ashland twenty to seventeen.
Monroeville leading Seneca East twenty to zip. Right now, Clear Fork up
on Lexington twenty one to fourteen.Got a little refresh year, see if
anything changed from what I already said. Doesn't appear, So North Union Zane

(01:32:39):
trace tide at fourteen, Highland upon christ Few twenty four to nothing.
It's Mapleton leading Northmore twenty four tosix, and Newark leading Marion Harding fourteen
to twelve. Game of elven rA M Station fourteen nineteen w MRN to

(01:33:01):
see that Cartington psarroscore equipment. It'snot showing to me right now I'll get
that latter, all right, We'lltake a little break. We'll come back

of the Week School Football Magic Godand here from carry A we have time
show carry Homocentral Catholic fourteen to nothing. Just a few more scores again and

(01:34:39):
then we'll go back to some ofgym's numbers. Elgin leading North Baltimore forty
four to nothing. Ridgdale and Ridgemonttied at Zeros. Same case for mel
gillad and Grove City Christian. Andalso Aida and Buckeye Central tied at Zeros.
And I wanted that Cartington Lincoln,Bucyrus Gorgers. Yeah, that's a
tight game. And Carlington leading Busurustwenty one to twenty one. More for

(01:35:03):
you, Columbian up on River Valleythirty five nineteen. Columbia must be pretty
decent this year football, playing somepretty competitive games and doing a great job.
So a lot of times they usedto be kind of the doormat when
I was in the old NL NorthernOhio League and uh they were sometimes just

(01:35:26):
an easy win and not so muchthese days. So good, good job
up there. Take a look atsome of your statistics again. We mentioned
Carson Parker for laima Central Catholic. The Thunderbird quarterback has one hundred nine yards
on just seven of seventeen passing,So excellent job with the pressure. We've

(01:35:46):
been calling uh fraudman's name all night, and Nita, Corps and Bows they've
all been in there and harassing himextremely and then Connor Norton two doing a
good job. Parker, I've gothim for I know this is wrong because
he had a big loss. Ididn't quite catch what the loss was when

(01:36:09):
he had the snap goal over hishead and then tried to make something out
of nothing. He lost at leastclose to twenty yards. I'll call it
eighteen. But so he's one ofthose negative yardage players negative five yards for
him, Mikey or excuse me,Matthew Quatman. He actually is the lone
positive yard runner. He had atotal of six yards in that first half,

(01:36:34):
but overall the team is negative yardageand most of that probably with the
remaining sacks on Carson Parker that Ididn't get on my statute. My apologies
all right. Receiving wise, don'tquite have all the yardage there either,
but I've got Hefner with a twelveyard pick up, Billy Bourke at twenty

(01:37:00):
four, Milon Cowens with thirty, and Matthew Quatlin or twelve. So but
there's one hundred nine yards overall. So missing a couple there as well,
but just an excellent, excellent jobby this carry Blue Devil defense. Taking
a look over at the carry offensiveside side of things, Carter Smiley doing

(01:37:21):
two for six on his passing seventyone yards. He does have a touchdown
rushing a four yard touchdown run,and he also had a huge fumble recovery
in his own end zone when knockingat the door where the Thunderbirds and Alex
Putnam put the big hit on,Smiley cleaned up the mess and got him

(01:37:44):
back to the twenty yard line.Carry drove eighty yards down the field for
their first touchdown. Cap by thatfour yard touchdown run, Alex Putnam has
twenty four yards punder Nordley with twentyeight and I'm probably a little shy on
Connors numbers. There. We hada couple of big first down runs as
well, Austin meter core thirty fiveyards and the second touchdown or ten yarder

(01:38:10):
to make it our halftime score afourteen to nothing. Of course, he
ended plot adding and two for twoon his extra points, so he's still
a perfect on the year, fiveof five. So yeah, real big
plays and the one turnover. Thatwas the one area that I saw that

(01:38:30):
you know they might be able totake advantage of because Carrie's defense is always
hawking after the ball. And myfavorite thing of the whole first half was
when they we saw the team getthat holding penalty when they would have had
a first down. They all wentback clapped and said, you know what,
We're going to pick each other upthe very next play, huge fifty
seven yard pass play and that puthim in the scoring positions. So you

(01:38:56):
just gotta love that. And thatwas too Austin meter core and that got
things really wroll and for him andled to that second touchdown in the second
quarter. So fourteen to nothing ison halftime scour on your Matthews Conda accurate
game of the week, and I'vebeen very pleasantly surprised here at Kirk.

(01:39:17):
I was a little bit worried onthe way up that you know, this
might just be a steam roll job, but just absolutely the opposite. They've
controlled the ball very well, havethe carry Blue doubles, and kept this
Redbird's offense really at bay. Theymade them one dimensional where it's got to
be the passway or no way. They haven't allowed anything run wise right on.

(01:39:44):
Okay, So yeah, it's youknow, it's a little cary blue
doubles, we know, you know, leading it fourteen to nothing, looking
to get the football. I'd loveto work some more clock add to that
lead. Keep that powerful Thunderbird offenseoff the field. So we'll see this.

(01:40:05):
Uh we're getting nightfall. The lightsare on, got the Friday night
lights going on. That's why heyfinally getting them here and carry this season.
First home game of the season forthe Blue Devils, looking good,

(01:40:27):
so to be. Matthew quatting tokick things off on the approach and it's
up its bright foot and this onedribbles across the forty and then goes out
of bounds. Gotta be a penaltyflag there, but they will probably just
take the point of where it wentout of bounds. There's about, like
you said, the thirty eight Ibelieve there you go, So, yeah,

(01:40:47):
carry blue Devils are they're gonna makethem kick it again? They could,
They could make them kick the ballfrom the thirty five yard line if
they so desired. I think they'regonna take the ball right there, but
we will see. Mers coach Mershmancomes out to discuss things with the officials.

(01:41:11):
They're allowed to. Yeah, justgo with the result of where the
ball went out. They certainly cando that. They don't have to make
them rekick. It looks like they'regoing to spot it closer to the forty
maybe on the forty or are theystill marking off penalty from here? I'm
really confused. Yeah, so they'removing the balls. Yeah, yeah,

(01:41:41):
you're right the forty four yard line. I'm gonna have to re reread my
rule book there. I wasn't familiarwith that one. So they just may
have had a difference of opinion wherethe ball went out of bounds, quite
a difference about five yards. Sohere we go. First, him from
the forty four swinging to the rightside to Sam Cole cuts inside cross bidfield

(01:42:03):
tackle from behind by E. J. Jones, really nice inside out and
moved by Sam Cole over there.Smiley got him in the right flat and
he juked towards the outside, cutit back towards the inside, totally lost
his man and picked up an extraseven yards on that play where he could
have been stopped for about a oneyard pick up. Yeah, so exactly

(01:42:26):
so. Now at the forty eightyard line across bid field, second and
two, here we go. Inmotion is brodbun and the quarterback Smiley has
a snap, cuts inside and itlooks like he got what he needed tackle

(01:42:47):
from behind by Matthew Quatman. I'mnot totally sure that was a design play,
Kirk. It looked like he wantedto hand that ball off. Maybe
he was just doing a ball faketo show him the ball. I was
like, where's the guy he's supposedto be handing that too? O.
So first down, Yeah, yeah, Carrie's definitely gonna take it. Yeah,

(01:43:13):
they don't mind, just as longas it works. Said, uh
yeah, So Carter Smiley making hisfirst start at quarterback tonight. I'm doing
a fine job leading this offense. The first down in ten from the forty
six passed up in the air andit is caught by Phoenix and tripped.
Phoenix gets tripped up there by JoshYoung across the forty five yard nod.

(01:43:36):
I have to correct myself here,Kirk. I just realized I was reading
down the wrong line. I thinkI said that it was Austin nit Aicord
with that ten yard touchdown, whenit was Steen. I realized when I
saw him run off the field thatyeah, he was the one that scored
that touchdown. And he has thethirty five yards in the first half.
So my apologies are you? Like? Brings out second down and seven from

(01:43:58):
the forty three I snap handled thereby Smiley, gives it up to Norton,
cuts in and then hit there byGianni McKee. But a good game
to the thirty six yard line forthe carry. Blue Devil's just enough frond

(01:44:18):
of Matthews handa Acura first down, all right, seven yard pick up,
and it's just starting to look likeHarry's really is starting to take command of
this game, really looking more comfortablehere. So first he had ten thirty

(01:44:39):
six yard line and Smiley heads itoff to Eli. Steve truck it up.
He's got some speed, but he'stripped up from behind Josh Young.
Nice play by Young to prevent atouchdown. There was no one else who
had a chance to stop Steing inthat situation. To the thirteen and you
got a twenty three yard run fouror Steen right there, so he had

(01:45:01):
a ten yard touchdown run for thatsecond scorer of the game. And then
adds twenty three more yards fifty eightyards on eight carries tonight for Steen.
That's more than his yardage in theprevious two games. Verst and ten from
the thirteen and looks like they justhanded it right off to us A Snyder
at that time. Woll mis too, Actually heaven it was okay, okay,

(01:45:29):
yeah, thank you a Dean whowas watching there. So yeah,
we account on that. Yeah,it's again it's not getting us right there.
From the eleven second dowl and addsseven. It's time they go back
to Steen and he's just taken ontacklers, but a good job by Lama

(01:45:53):
Central Catholic to bring him down tothe field. Multiple players there, including
Falkon Gavin Snyder doing the work onthe previous play and then also giving a
nice block to his teammate on thatplace. So it's third and five from
the eight yard line. First driveof this third quarter, carry leading at

(01:46:14):
fourteen to nothing, snaps back. They give it up to Nitercore cuts inside
from the left and then stopped atabout the four yard line, very close
to a first down. Might bea little bit shy. Demetrius Stalworth with
an hard hit there for a LemonCentral Catholic. Yeah, they got him
about a yard shy. Fourth downright in there. Oh, but again,

(01:46:43):
a lot of clock being shoot uphere, down under seven minutes forty
five seconds, clock ticking, powereye formation with the one from the four.
Yet they go back to Snyder andhe looks the burrow through for what
he can and yet he's got enough. He sure does. Matthews, how
accurate first down, didn't break throughfor the touchdown, but has that first
down carrying great position here, Wellthat's at least the fourth fourth down conversion

(01:47:10):
they've had this ball game. Whata job by that offensive line, just
outstanding. Yeah, that's so.Yeah. When it comes down to you're
right, where's the goal? Yeah, it looks like they marked at the
two under center here, heading itoff to Niercore works his her way around
the right side and Austa Needercore isable to get into the end zone for

(01:47:31):
the two yard touchdown, brought toyou by the Central Ohio Farmers co Ops.
So Blue Temple's up three cores hereearly in the third quarter, the
third rushing touchdown of the season forAusta Needer Kor there's the touchdown I wanted
to give him in the first half. Good job. Absolutely, somebody's got

(01:47:55):
to keep me off here tonight,Kurt Well, it's I guess I should
start listening to you. I don'tknow, somebody should The flag came out,
you know, it looked like goodkick. But it's good. But
will they go for two? Theywill? They're sending out big beef out
extra beefy offensive lineman. Come out, Matt allamong the big six four two

(01:48:24):
ninety pounder. Let's see if theyfollow him. I would he's on the
right side. Not a bad idea. Let's see under center Smiley after it
goes to Steen and he gets throughfor the two point conversion. Eli Stein,
Well, carry Blue Devils. Yeah, I think that's their first two

(01:48:47):
point conversion of the season. Rightthere, you are, correct, sir
so on our Wilson Entire score board, it is carry twenty two Lima Central

So I'm a Central Catholic. Theydefinitely in some trouble needs of points.
Carter Bam on the tackle, they'regood stop by the sophomore. First time
we mentioned number thirty tonight on thecarry side, Yes, that's true.

(01:50:50):
Also on the tackle three cars fromthe twenty nine first they had ten.
A quarterback marker hands it off toMikey Katsman who has stopped right at the
thirty. That's the play I wastalking about. They can run it that

(01:51:12):
way, he can go out inthe flat, they can do a lateral
pass to him and then he canthrow it down field. So they have
a lot of looks out of thatformation. Well, they bet him back
at the twenty nine. I thoughthe got one. Nope, they put
the ball right back at twenty nine. So no gating on that play.
Sick it down and ten I'll haveto invent a new word. They gave

(01:51:35):
him his forward regress. Yeah,oh my word, sit down. As
they come to the near side toBurke and Billy Burke stops here the thirty
five. It's happened, folks,I've rendered Kirk speechless. I can't follow

(01:51:55):
that one. I can't even followit. And I'm the one who said
it's oh my word, and scarilythe night is still young. Yes,
that's the sole part for the listeners. As we got the third down and
two from the thirty seven hand offplay, Quatman as in Matthew Quatman nowhere

(01:52:20):
to go, Connor Norton and AlexPuttenham in there making the play for the
carry blue deep holes another tackle forloss. Yeah, you gotta love this
carry blue devil defense. I'll tellyou what they know how to do it
that. Yeah, they are reallyon point in this game tonight. So

(01:52:49):
on the fourth down, got Smileyback in the dual safety along with Niticorps.
See if they angle it out ofbounds, will be hunt us up.
Wow, Brobin almost got to us. Can we get a return for
Niercore to thirty yard line? Getsto the thirty five spun down helm Bill

(01:53:11):
Well, it looked like he's goingdown, and he fought for a little
bit more. He knocked out ofbounds Austin Niedercore, bringing the fight for
the carry Blue Devils for sure, speaking of fight number seventies, Lucky he
didn't connect because he was punching forthe ball and came a lot closer to
Nitocor's jaw than he did in theball. So I'm sure that they are

(01:53:33):
realizing they've got to create some turnovers. But you've got to be careful down
there, even when somebody appears tobe stood up. Because he was stood
up for a moment. The punchat the ball went, but then he
started to go down and nearly caughthim in the jaw. So we got
first and ten from the thirty sixyard line under centers Somiley. Is they

(01:53:55):
bunching up as the snap goes toEli Steen works around the right side and
armed through to the forty five yardline. Maybe you're market at the forty
four. So nice eight yard gameevery La Steen. Eli Steen showing no
ill effects from that Smiley touchdown runwhere he dove into the line and came
up to holding the right side ofhis ribs. He has just been a

(01:54:18):
man on fire since about midway throughthe second quarter. Sure has seventy one
yards eleven carries. Yeah, shapingup to be a big one. Four
Steen all right, soul Second downand two forty four. Your line quarterback

(01:54:38):
has a snap, heads it offto Steen wanting some more hit initially by
Fulky and then help coming from Stulworth. Yeah, he's still got a quarter
in four minutes to go, andhe's already eclipsed his fifty nine yards a
game rushing average. Add another touchdowntonight, third and a half a yard

(01:55:04):
to go, just about there, right at that forty five yard line,
three thirty five remaining in the thirdcarry, trying to add to it,
twenty two to nothing lead under centerSmiley end up. Stein left side tries
to break a tackle from Young, who hangs on with the shoe string.
Cannot prevent the Matthews Honda accurate firstdown down to the forty three yard line.

(01:55:27):
But nice hard run again for Stein. I got a hand at to
Josh Young, I wouldn't have madethat tackle. Stein actually lowered his shoulder
and turned into him, thinking hewould go right over him. Somehow,
despite getting steamrolled, he held onto those churning legs. Yeah, Josh
Young one sixty, Eli Steen twoforty, but Young showing the toughness there

(01:55:50):
first AAD ten forty three yard lide, snapped back to Smiley, hands it
off here to Snyder, gang tacklestop. He never went down, but
he was fighting about six guys. They just stopped him, yet they didn't
get him down right at the fortyone yard line. Pick up up a

(01:56:13):
couple of yards there for Gavin Snyder. Yeah, this is where the being
able to substitute for carry comes inhuge. Yeah, And this is where
the running game, you know,it's worn him down as we've gone on,
and so things look a little moredownhill than they did in the first
half. Taking the eight front offorty one yard line up twenty two to
nothing. Here in this third quarter, rolling to the right off to snap

(01:56:34):
his smile, he throws it downfieldlooking for Broadman and complete skips into him.
But yeah, catching off the bounce, not a reception. Carson Parker
doing the job on defense against hisuh counterpart at the quarterback position. He
held on. I thought he mighthave gotten a roughing penalty. But good

(01:56:56):
sportsman, Chip, he held himfrom going down on the turf after he
got rid of that ball. Goodsportsmanship there. Absolutely We got two twenty
one to go on this third quarter, third down and eight from the forty
one yard line and Limo Central Catholicterritory. Here at the ball el steeen.

(01:57:17):
That are nice, tough run andagain it is Josh Young who's able
to hold on and bring him down. But it's enough for the Matthews how
to act here for first al andanother eight yard pick up Christein he was
just can we say steam rolling?Yeah, he certainly is. Yeah,

(01:57:40):
got to the thirty ah, thirtyfour, it wasn't the thirty three and
then he picked up the ball.Yeah, that's not great. Now what's
happening? Are they going to discusswhere the ball goes down the line?
The two line judges are coming clearlymove the ball back from the thirty three
to the thirty four. It's stillthe first down and they're keeping it right

(01:58:00):
there. Just everybody's getting on thesame page. First down and ten o'clock
winds two oh one to go inthis third quarter with a twenty two to
nothing carry Blue Devil lead and theBlue Devils still with the ball. Yeah,
let's see what they do on thisfirst at ten play from the thirty
four. Pitching it back here toConnor Norton breaks one tackle from Matthew Quatman,

(01:58:23):
breaking some more tackles, but thenultimately not able to get away from
the powerful Gianni McKee for the lineof Central Catholic. So short gain of
about three maybe four yards depending onwhere they spotted. Yeah, they are
just being absolutely brutal with their punishingruns. Louis Nott's outside linebacker sophomore.

(01:58:47):
He came up holding an arm andalso one of the Quatman brothers, Matthew.
He came up, you know,a little gingerly as well after those
hits second and seven from the thirtyone, handed off the steen off the
snap, going right up the gut, just taking on any tackler that he
wants to gets inside the twenty five. Looks like they're marking it to the

(01:59:10):
twenty four, So yeah, thatshould be the Matthews hond Acra first down.
They do make the signal YEP onethirty four to go in this third
quarter, Gary leading at twenty twoto nothing on Lima Central Catholic. Nearing
the hundred yard mark is Eli Steen. See if he can cap off this

(01:59:33):
drive, get himself over one hundredand get his team up close to that
thirty point marker. Under center isSmilie. Snap band, hands off up
the middle. I have been Snyder. A bunch of bodies in there.
Ye happened, Snyder to the eighteen. I got Snyder's best run of the

(01:59:56):
night, picked up six or sevenup sucks yards there for Gavin Snyder.
Yeah, so, uh, youknow, getting the junior involved into the
action the good thing. You know, he works hard blocking, but uh
yeah, I'm very capable of runningthe bowl obviously. So we get the
second down, had four eighteen yardline in the red zone, carry leading

(02:00:20):
get twenty two to nothing in thisthird quarter, Snap it back to Smile.
He hand it off to niter Courtas time cuts in and then hit
from behind. Helmet comes off.Somebody's I didn't see what happened there.
But he's banging his field, isn'tit, Teammate Colin for coaching staff to

(02:00:44):
come out, he's gonna have tocome out of the game. Once the
helmet comes off, he appears tobe Okay, I'm glad for that young
man. I didn't see what happenedthere. I just saw the helmet off
and him Maybe he was just frustrated. I'm not sure, but who took
a took a shot to the helmetobviously. Yeah, it definitely gets rough
out there, you know. Sometimes, Yeah, the one who does the

(02:01:05):
hitting can get a wall up aswell. That's Kayden Johnson, defensive lineman
that went out and coming in toreplace him as McKee. So yeah,

(02:01:33):
just Mayo worked the clock down hereto end this third quarter? Why not
you know, five seconds? Yeah, that is the strategy. So here
we go. Third quarter has cometo one end and on the Wilson Tire

They've got to move, They've gottime, but down four scores,
Yes, they cannot mess are outhere. Yeah, they've been able to
put points on the board in everygame this year. Last year they won

(02:06:30):
four playoff games in the state playoffs, getting all the way to the semi
finals before bowing out in a closegame there. So this is a you
know, team that's used to winning. They're used to scoring in bunches.
Not quite over yet. First andten, twenty four yard line, Limo
Central Catholic down twenty eight to nothing. Handoff play here for Matthew Quatman.

(02:06:54):
It looked like it was Austin Neierkorwho got his hands on them first for
the carry. Blue Dew, No, I make that. Kylor Bows.
Bows has been in that backfield allnight long, flushing the quarterback. He
hasn't always gotten the tackle for loss, but he picked up one. Uh
there, it was just a twoyard game. Hit him in the backfield

(02:07:15):
first though, all right, Seconddown and eight from the twenty six Limost
Central Catholic. Carson Parker from thegun, has the waist high snap,
looks at all right, unquorks thepass and caught on the far side.
Billy Burke over at the thirty. But the Blue Devils right on top of
them to make that play. Ithink that's bows again, or indeed it

(02:07:47):
was one thirty one yard line, third down and five. Allow us Entil
Catholic ten forty to go in thisfourth quarter, trainling at twenty eight to
nothing, gotta carry three year siversf a right, two to the left,

(02:08:09):
and they're sending them all out hereat the quarterback. Parker has a
snap. Ah, there might havebeen a hole that they got away with
there, but now he's under pressure, trying to be tracked down by broadman,
sets his feet, throws it fromthe thirty one. He has a
man. It's Matthew Kuaman who catchesit here in the thirty yard line of
Carrie Territory, scrabs away from atackle and stopped near to twenty two.

(02:08:30):
Whoa big play right there for theThunderbirds. They're used to doing that much
sooner good thing for Carrie that AlexPutnam was there to bring him down or
that likely would have been a touchdownnumber four or quieted moving the chains and
bringing the next play in excellent pass. He went totally against the grain on

(02:08:54):
that one, and I saw thata number of times in their films.
He with his maneuverability in the backfieldthere, and you mentioned I think they
did get away with a Yeah,it looked like there was a whole offensive
line. First and ten from thetwenty two. Here's a quarterback under pressure
launches on the near side of thiscontent. Matthew Quatman cuts inside it gets

(02:09:16):
into the end zone for a twentytwo yard touchdown. First Central Ohile Farmers
co op touchdown of the night forthe line of Central Catholic. The Thunderbirds
didn't exactly what they needed to doin a situation down four scores to get
down there quickly and put up somepoints. Yeah, forty seven yard pass
followed by a twenty two yard passand they've got pay dirt for the first

(02:09:39):
time tonight, nine thirty nine togo. Fourth quarter action not quite over
yet. I'm sure we'll see squibor on side kick. They will try
the extra point here being down andeven four score and extra points. So

(02:10:00):
Matthew Quatman, who scored a touchdown, he's the one who will attempt the
extra point. Holds down from Burke, kicks up from Quatman and it is
good good. So on our WilsonTire scoreboard it is twenty eight to seven.
Carry leads to align my central Catholic. The Thunderbirds are on the board,

twenty what's the twenty five yard line? Alta Laury stopped by Mikey Kuapman and
Milon Cowands for I'm a Central Catholic. Imagine that carry's gonna want to try
to use some more o' clock here. I was so effective, especially in
the first half. Yeah, reallyabout midway through the second quarter. It's

(02:12:15):
been since that point on the EliSteen Show. He had ten yard touchdown
run on his seventh carry, andsince that time he's added on another seventy
yards rushing. So he's got onehundred and four on the night, including
that twelve yard touchdown run first toten from the twenty six yard line,
and Smiley keeping it himself there, got a penalty flag down. Looks like,

(02:12:41):
uh, we're whistling something. We'rea hold the recovery for his up
seven down it all right, sothey put it back at the twenty five.
So just a loss of one there. Okay, his knee went down.
I didn't I didn't catch it,all right. As we head toward

(02:13:01):
the nine minutes mark of this fourthquarter, second down and eleven from the
twenty five, Smiley has the snap, hands it off to Norton, and
Norton cut down near the twenty sevento pick up of a couple of yards
there for Norton, clock continuing tomove for Kerry. We're eight fifty three

(02:13:24):
and counting down, leading in twentyeight to seven unliment Central Catholic. I'll
tell you what, Kirk. Theyare putting eight nine men in the box.
If somebody breaks through that line, you're gonna see a seventy yard run
here. All right, we'll seehow that goes. They know they want
to run the ball. I getthat, but boy, you gotta have

(02:13:46):
somebody back a little bit deeper.Heard and a from the twenty eight and
this time they go with neiter korleft side breaks a tackle from Gerneman,
but then brought down by Falkey. All right at the thirty one yard line.
I think they're going to be contentto kick the ball away here.

(02:14:07):
Eight minutes and nine seconds to go. Clock, we'll tick down and they'll
have the full allotment of time toget this one away. You'll probably see
him kick it with just a coupleof seconds left on that play clock,
which is at thirteen seconds right now, seven two to go on the game
clock. And let's see here wego. It's up in the air.

(02:14:31):
Hang time, but right the distance, but get some favorable carry bounces here.
The forty yard line comes to arrestat the forty one, So that's
where the Lama Central Catholic will tryagain. Very smart play by Carter Bam
on that one. He had thecoverage, but rather than just bat the
ball as soon as it started tocome back, he realizes the game clock

(02:14:54):
is ticking, so he just waitedfor the official to blow it dead.
Got a couple extra seconds off thatclock, thinking all the time out there.
Good job, Carter Bain, sothey got the ball forty yard line.
Last drive was a sixty seventy sixyard drive for line of Central Catholic
leading to the touchdown or Matthew Quatmanhis first receiving touchdown of the season.

(02:15:18):
So verst to ten from the fortydown twenty eight, do something there we
go the quarterback a pitch play toFulkey, breaks one tackle to forty forty
five and then cut down just shyof midfield to the forty nine yard line.
So pick up of nine yards furKate and Fulkey, little shovel pass
allah Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas CityChiefs. Whatever way to get it done.

(02:15:41):
And that was a design play, but he disguised it well like he
was doing the full drop back andthen just shoved it forward with his left
hand. He's normally a right handedthrower. Good job by the quarterback,
car Parker. Second and one, forty nine yard line. Parker has the
snap, takes off and runs gotthe down across midfield so that he got

(02:16:05):
what he needed. Matthews hont Acarafirst down the forty seven yard line,
a six yard pick up. Yes, was under seven to play here in
this fourth quarter as the Thunderbirds tryingto pull to within two scores verse at

(02:16:28):
ten forty seven yard line in carryterritory. The quarterback Parker has the snap
and it looks like a designer runblue Devil's not fooled broadman among the tacklers
for carry see Norton alamong as wellor carry. Yeah. So right there

(02:16:52):
at that forty seven yard line, six fifteen remaining in the fourth, I'm
missing for Katholic. Gotta to goodmove here down the three touchdowns second and
ten forty seven yard live quarterback CarsonPaul Parker has a snap that batted down

(02:17:13):
at the line of scrimmage that putsBrobin while he is really something, uses
his arms, his hands, everythingto make a play for his team.
Very nice play. Broadman in thebackfield as well, they're making him rush
that throw and obviously he didn't wantthat to happen. But the clock stops

(02:17:35):
with five fifty eight. That's theonly positive out of that. That's exactly
where we were talking about in ourregina, very realty. Keys of the
game got a pressure Parker, andthe Blue Devils got the memo and aren't
doing it so well. So herewe go third down and ten from the
forty seven in carry territory, butdown three touchdowns, car said Parker.

(02:17:58):
Since one in motion is Mikey Quapman. Parker has the snap that sets up
a screen for my key and blownup by Cole, but he stays on
his feet, does Quatman, andultimately tackle by dash Buckets at the forty
five minimal gain right there two yards, So third and long up coming here
for the Thunderbirds, not her ifthey I'm not sure if you heard the

(02:18:18):
ooh by the crowd after that hit. Both players are probably gonna feel that
one Saturday morning. And we gota time out called for, I believe
by the Thunderbirds, so we cantake a time out as well for our
prest Federal Credit Union time hound. That's exactly right. It's twenty eight to

(02:18:39):
seven kit re Lea's Lemon Centol Catholic, five thirty to go into fourth.
It's our Matthews Houthacker gave it aweek on Magic at ninety five nine.

(02:19:48):
from the forty five lot off thebig trouble Parker bick fisted out by Robert
Parker. Dot try to get itwith us wheels. It takes out bucket
a collision over on the far side. Heck of an effort there by Parker.
Wow, he's got that Matthews Hondaaccurate first down the thirty six yard
line. Had to have it there. He missed on that. He definitely

(02:20:13):
paid for every yard he got there. Dash Pucket made sure that he'll field
that one Saturday morning as well.So it's at the thirty six down,
twenty eight to seven with five nineteento go on the fourth lamb of Central
Catholic. Here a carry trying tocome up with a miracle. Parker is
setting it up screen that would incompleteI think Hepner was his intended target.

(02:20:37):
I'm not sure there was an offensivelineman in the vicinity, but if if
there was anybody a little closer,I would have called that grounding. As
far as you know, the rushersbeing in the air, he just basically
decided to throw that one into theback of one of his linemen. Things

(02:20:58):
on second down and to and fromthe thirty six five sixteen to go on
the fourth down three touchdowns. Limbof Central Catholic head carry quarterback has a
wayte high snaps since it to MatthewQuatman, hit imanly by Cole, but
it only breaks out of it andthen breaks some more tackles, but ultimately
brought down Austin Needercore at the twentynine. That's a tough, tough run

(02:21:20):
by Matthew Quatman, hands off tohim. I mean, he had a
very solid hit by Cole. Hecouldn't quite wrap him up, kept the
legs churning. He got another solidhit and still went forward for another three
yards. Yeah, sure did alot of heart kept of seven right there,
or so four forty five remaining inthe fourth third, three twenty nine

(02:21:45):
yard line from the gun Carson Parkeras a snap entered off to Mikey Quatman
for rented a right side and sideto twenty five and yeah, so no,
if there's no penalty, then hegot what he needed for the Matthews
hand accurate first down for Lima CentralCatholic. It's a fine line there.

(02:22:11):
I think the thing that saved himfrom getting the holding penalty is his arms
were straight in front of him.So he did a good job with that
offensive line block. There were twentysix ago in the fourth down twenty eight
two seven Lima Central Catholic first andten twenty three yard line, trying to

(02:22:31):
get a little bit closer. They'rein carry territory one emotion. It's Mikey
Kuatman again. Quarterback Carson Barker hasa snap Rolton the right to pass,
caught inside by his big target BillyBurke, and yep, right at the
ten yard line. That's the Matthewshand Accura first down pick up thirteen right

(02:22:52):
there. So passing and it's beena much better second half, but it's
probably too little, too late. That's the big question. Right, only
four to fourteen remaining. He's sixout of his last there's check that seven
out of his last nine passes complete, and that includes a thrown it into

(02:23:13):
the back of a lineman to stopthe clock person goal from the ten shot
gun snap hants it off to Matthew. Quatman runs up the gut and brought
down by Smiley and others that appearedto me near the five yard line.
The three forty four and counting downin this fourth quarter, number four on

(02:23:35):
the tackle from the Blue Dolls numberthree. Yeah, Li'm of Central Catholic
understanding gonna get the points here, but yeah, they can't take too much
time. Three and a half togo, clocks still moving, second and
goals six yard line from the gun, Parker calls for it, has it
looks left pass incomplete through the handsof Milan Cowns's unable to hold onto it.

(02:24:01):
The collar bows over there again ondefense for the Blue Devils in completion
nonetheless, does stop the clock atthree eighteen. Definitely a lot of pressure
here, but more so on LimaCentral Catholic, given day that they're down

(02:24:24):
twenty eight to seven, three eighteento go. On the fourth Wenning goal
from the six run in motion, quarterback has the snap, Parker roll to
the right, so far seven, director has his mand open and Billy Burke
for the touchdown. Six yard playfor Lima Central Catholic. Billy Burke with

(02:24:45):
his third receiving touchdown of the season. Touchdown brought to you by the Central
Ohio Farmers co Op. So theThunderbirds are within a couple of scores,
but they really want to get thisextra point right here as well. Eighteen
yards for Carson Parker. He hadone hundred and nine in the first half,
so he's doubled to his yardage inthe second half and done a much

(02:25:11):
better job completing passes. And youmight say he's how does he do in
such a good job? Now whilethey're in a prevent defense with six defensive
backs back there, they've got fourrushers, six defensive backs, and that's
the fact. Everybody's everybody's back andthey're playing soft to let the clock work
for them. If they can tacklehim in the field, that's still a
win. So extra point goes forMatthew Katman. So on our Wilson entire

(02:25:33):
scoreboard is twenty eight fourteen carry leadsAlim of Central Catholic three thirteen to go
in the fourth. It's our MatthewsHonda Acura gave the week on Magic at
ninety five time. This time I'vebrought back a real beast prepetive. Be
amazed. Those are just new vehiclesfrom Matthews Honda and Matthews Accura side by

(02:26:41):

The Matthews Honda Acura High School Gameof the Week three thirteen to go in
the fourth twenty eight to fourteen isa score carry leads let us chu a
Catholic. The thunder Birds ready tokick it off, but we do anticipate

(02:27:03):
they will attempt the onside kick.Yeah, the Thunderbirds have all the weeks.
People on the right side, butCarrie no problem able to get possession
of the ball. The logan summit, so Carry Blue Devils. I just
want to work this down as muchas they can. It helps their up

(02:27:26):
two scores to go. Wow,what a game for Carrie. If they're
able to string together a first downon the ground, that will pretty much
do it. They've only got twotimeouts left do the Thunderbirds Carry of course
has all theirs, but they're notgoing to come anywhere near a time out

(02:27:48):
unless they do a back to backtime out situation. They're going to let
that clock roll first and ten fortysix yard line. The probably comes set,
the quarterback has the snap, Smileyhands it off to Eli Steen,
keeps it on the ground, getsacross midfield to the forty eight yard line.
E Le Steen. I just wantto keep the clock moving as we're

(02:28:11):
in three minutes and counting down fourCarrie. Really nice job on that right
side. Cameron Benwell with a goodlead block and Jonah Peters out there as
well, just pushing their men backdown the field and making it all downhill
for Steen. And he's already aload to bring down on the first place.
So excellent pick up. Good jobby the right side of the offensive

(02:28:33):
line. The second of four fromthe forty eight yard line from the gun,
his Carter Smiley has the snap, keeps it himself right side, staying
bounds, and he is brought outof bounds on the near side. That
would have been understandable. Carson Parkerare over there to make the play for
a line of central Catholic. Itis the Matthew's hand to acer a first

(02:28:56):
town. So Carrie getting the freshset of downs. That's the main in
front of Blue devils here. Hecalled him staying in bounds, so he
kept the clock rolling there. Smileydid stop on a dime to avoid going
out of bounds and then he wasdragged out of bounds by the defender.

(02:29:18):
But he was actually dragged backwards. So that's why the clock continues to tick
here. Good smart heads up playedby Smiley. First end ten handoff to
Nordon and just fights for what hecan. Initial hits from Jayden Williams run
at the forty yard line, sogain of one for Norton. What the

(02:29:39):
clock continuing to move? It's atone forty carry leading in twenty eight fourteen.
Yeah, they'll use up as muchclock as possible twenty seconds on the
play clocks so far. Here theybreak the huddle to the forty second down

(02:30:00):
in nine and Thunderbird territories carry handingit off. Eli Steen cuts to the
left side and fights through the tacklersand he makes his way to the twenty
eight. Eli Steen another fine runfor the sophomore Matthews Honda Acura first down,
one twelve to go in this fourthquarter. Yes, the blue tables

(02:30:24):
can smell it. Steen had onehundred and twelve yards before that twelve yard
pickup, so he's got one twentyfour that eclipses his season total of one
hundred nineteen And just what a whaleof a job he's done since midway through
the second quarter. He got thatten yard touchdown, and he got the
two point conversion later in the secondquarter after the Austin Niedercour touchdown, and

(02:30:50):
he did a knee here from thequarterback and Carter Smiley on the first and
ten on the twenty eight. Absolutely, they've got two time outs, but
attacking him, whether they use themor not, that's going to be the
ball game. So coach realizes iton the far sideline and he is Scott
pault Day is satisfied that his teamhas put forth their best effort in the

(02:31:15):
fourth quarter, we get that finalknee. Yeah. And Scott Paualty is
an excellent coach ten seasons leading LimaCentral Catholic, seventh seasons before that,
leading Columbus Grove. He knows whathe's doing. And as you noted,
they made it to the state semifinalsa year ago, but tonight falling to
the Blue Devils. It is afunnel Carrie who wins at twenty eight to

(02:31:37):
fourteen of our Lima Central Catholic. So the first home game of the season
results in the Blue Devils first victoryof this season. And there are so
many things that the Blue Devils canuse from this to Bill's momentum as they
begin conference play next week. Rightback here to take on the Winford Royals.

(02:31:58):
This is just a huge win too. I mean, you hate to
start talking playoffs team three, butyou know this team li'm A Central Catholic.
Even though they're Division seven, theyplay up and they have to schedule
all their games non conference because theydon't have a conference at home conference,
so they end up playing a lotof teams that are ranked much higher than

(02:32:20):
they are. They come up witha win and that could mean some good
things for Carry down the road.So this team has a lot to play
for. They're one and two,yes to the record, not obviously impressive
at this stage, but hold ontoyour hats. They've got the End ten
Conference and that's coming up next week. We'll be right back here next week
as well. That's exactly right toyour point. Yeah, I'm a Central

(02:32:43):
Catholic playing nine different leagues and conferencesand ten regular season games, so that
is not easy. A lot oftraveling for the team, but yes,
they know what they have to do. Finally, they will get home next
week to play Bishop Reading and itis a funnel tonight, twenty eight to
fourteen on our Wilson Tire scoreboard.Carry defeats lima Central Catholic. We'll take

(02:33:07):
a break and of course we'll havefor you our Kimmel Corporation Player of the
game. So much to look forwardto, so glad you're with us.

(02:34:13):
and as always go bucks A schoolfootball man in the ninety five nine it
is over a carry blot. Temple'sGet Goo wins twenty eight to fourteen on
Lima Central Catholic Kawai, a gamethat we had tonight, and I'll tell

(02:34:37):
you what. Early on it lookedlike the Thunderbirds were going to uh really
impose their will. They won theopening uh kick because they decided that they
wanted to receive as they won thecoin touse, I should say, and
that offense was moving wow. Theystarted the ball from the forty five yard

(02:35:01):
line of Carrie. But then whenit looked like they were on the verge
of scoring, there was a fumble. Kate Vulkey lost the ball there for
the Premier Optometry Group turnover that wasscooped up by Carter Smiley. So that
meant that Carry got the ball attheir own twenty yard line and they completed

(02:35:24):
an eighty yard drive with a threeyard touched down run by Carter Smiley.
Extra point was good from Daniel Plott, made the score seven to nothing.
Carry on the next drive for aline of Central Catholic. They had to
punt the ball away and then Carriegot the ball back. It was an

(02:35:45):
excellent punt. The punt wound upat the four yard line of the Blue
Devils, but they nonetheless we're ableto complete that ninety six yard drive that
culminated in a ten yard touch downrun from Eli Steen made King to score
fourteen to nothing. So that washow it was at the half. And

(02:36:07):
then we got into the third quarterand uh Austin Deniercorp got the two yard
touchdown a run and then with atwo point conversion by Steam and made to
score twenty two to nothing in favorof the Carry A Loue Devils. Now

(02:36:28):
Lima Central Catholic was able to scorein the fourth. But yeah so Eli
see oh yeah, by the way, you got another touchdown. Yeah pardon
me, yes, so I don'tforget that twelve yard touchdown run for Eli
Stean in the fourth. So thenLima Central Catholic scored. Finally, Matthew

(02:36:50):
Quatman got a twenty two yard touchdownreception that made to score twenty eight to
seven, and after a carry apund of the ball away off their next
trip, I'm a Central Catholic gotanother scoring drive. This one is sixty
yard scoring drive made it twenty eightto fourteen. It was Billy Perk who

(02:37:11):
got the six yard touched down reception, but then that ended it as far
as points go. The Carry BlueDevils able to shut things down and get
the win and clearly wanting to getinto the win column for sure. You
know, the first two games weretough games against really strong opponents, for

(02:37:35):
sure. When you talk about Hopewellloudon, we see what the chieftains are
doing. Whoa yeah, they're gonnagive lots of teams trouble. And then
obviously Gallleon. Galleon has a reallytough team this season as well, so
