Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yes, indeed, we are live and old fort four Division
six District championship game between the Buhawk Warriors of the
End Ten the Northern Ten Athletic Conference and the Mommy
Valley Country Day Hawks of the Attack the Toledo Area
Athletic Conference. Hello, I'm Kirk Richards, so glad to have

(00:21):
you for some Friday night postseason hoops on Magic ninety
five to nine. This broadcast of varsity boys basketball is
presented by Matthews Honda Acurro. Well, if you enjoy high
level high school basketball, we definitely have a treat for
you at store tonight. Both teams have highly skilled players

(00:43):
who enjoy the game and are ready to compete tonight
for a district championship. And the fans, yeah, they're still
coming in. That's how we like to see it. Just
fill up the place, fill it up. And we've got
a lot of media here as well. It is completely full.
If you've been here to the catwalk had old Ford

(01:05):
behind one of the hoops where media generally set up. Yeah,
we are all side by side, ready to go. This
is going to be a fun game. And when you
think about Mommy Valley Country Day, a lot of talent,
young young talent for sure, but they've been getting better

(01:25):
as the season has gone along. So we're probably gonna
get the best version of the Hawks tonight as players
from both teams come back onto the floor and the
fans showing the air appreciation. Oh my gosh. And you
know something the Mohawk Warriors which been so great about
this team this season is every single game they have

(01:49):
had focus and concentration. They have not had a single
let down at all. Only two losses as we know,
to the same team Colonel Crawford. Both of those games
went into overtime. And we also know that if Mohawk
wins this game tonight, they likely will face Colonel Crawford

(02:09):
in the next round as the Eagles are also playing.
They're taking on Ashland Kressview. Now that game in Ontario,
you say, well, Colonel Crawford has only one ass on
the season and it was to Cressview. It was the
very first game of the season, it was on the road,
the first game played officially for Braden Holk for Colonel
Crawford after transferring over from Worcester Tryway, and the Eagles

(02:34):
just really didn't shoot that well that night, So that
was just sort of an off night for them their
first game, but hey, they are favored to win the
game tonight versus Cresview at Ontario. Mohawk's favored to win
this win as well. But hey, in this team from
Mommy Valley Country Day, they have a fighting shot for sure,

(02:55):
because these talented young players have really been stepping up.
But yes, Mohawk, Colonel Crawford, a lot of the fans here,
that's what they're thinking about, that's what they want to see.
And yeah, if it does indeed happen, we'll find out
tonight obviously. Then that game will be played on Tuesday
at Bowling Green the Stro Center, and that that place

(03:17):
will be packed for that game, no doubt about it
if it happens. But you gotta handle business here first,
So we're gonna take a short break. We'll come back
for your Regina at Reality Keys to the Game as
we get ready for this contest, Will Glader with us
for this district final Mommy Valley Country Day versus Mohawk
for Matthew's Ondacro Boys House Basketball Game of the Week

(03:39):
on Mattic ninety five to nine and Tyheart Radio, The.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Matthews Honda Akurra High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
All right, about three minutes away from the start of
the National Anthem here at old Ford as we're getting
ready for this Division six District championship game between the
Mohawk Warriors and the Mommy Valley Tree Day Hawks. It
should be an excellent battle as we take a look
at our key So the game presented by Regina event

(04:09):
a real team for Mohawk, We're gonna go with rebound, rebound, rebound.
We're as talented as MVCD is. The players don't make
every shot and the Hawks misses, the Warriors, well, they're
gonna have to make sure today get the rebound. At times,
there has been a failure to box out for the

(04:31):
Hawks and that has led to some vulnerability. So the
Warriors will want to take advantage of winning those offensive
rebounds at number two for Mohawk talk on d Mohawks
communication on the defensive end must be at the highest
level possible. The Warriors are facing a Hawks team that
thrives on creating mismatches and taking advantage when help defense

(04:54):
is late. They've got some excellent one on one players.
The Mohawk Warriors are gonna want to make sure that
help defense is on time efficient and making things as
difficult as possible on the Hawks. Now, as for Mammy
Valley Country Day, Run, Run Run, a part of the
Hawks strength is the ability to get out and transition

(05:15):
and score before the opposing defense has a chance to
get set. And the Hawks have players who rarely miss
when they get close to the rim, and those opportunities
might not be as frequent as the Hawks might like
if the Warriors are having one of those hot shooting nights.
But when the Hawks get the chance to take off
on a fast break, they must not hesitate and then

(05:37):
extra pass from Mommy Valley Country Day Mohawk isn't likely
to allow the Hawks to play a lot of one
on one, so there will be double teams, there will
be traps. But if the Hawks have strong passing they're
willing to make that extra pass, there could wind up
being opportunities for some open looks as the Warriors try
to keep up with their defensive rotation. So there you go,

(05:58):
our Regina vent Real Keys two the game. Well, since
we uh have a moment, mon, don't we get you are?
Pillar Credit Union Starting lineups first four Mommy Valley Country
Day they start five foot four freshman Say Robinson, five
foot ten sophomore Kieran Stokes, six foot four sophomore j A.

(06:21):
Britain Price, six foot two sophomore in the Zeer Wilson,
and seven foot sophomore ty Lewis. That's right, I said
seven foot. He is every bit that. He definitely stands
out on the floor. The Mohawk Warriors. They start six
foot senior Kane Hayman, five foot ten senior Ben Bogner,

(06:43):
six foot senior Boomer Cleveland, six foot senior Hunter Haynes,
and six foot seven senior Connor Flood. So Flood in
the unusual situation six foot seven to night going up
against a player who is significantly taller than ty Lewis.
But Flood does have a witness advantage in this matchup. Lewis, though,
is a tremendous shop blocker. As we turn things over

(07:05):
to the public address.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Welcome you to the Division seven Boys District final contest
between Bali and Malaicotie Day High School. The message was Mark,
please see enjoy the playing.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
All right now.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
You don't have them time here at old Ford.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
That's what all. That's all I'm here at old Fort
High School. As we get said for Division six District
Championship game between the Mohawk Warriors and the Mommy Valley
Country day Hawks, we gave you the starters just moments ago,
so we're just gonna take this opportunity to set things

(09:18):
up for you on this twenty eighth of February twenty
twenty five live for some of these tournament hoops on
Magic ninety five to nine between the Mohawk Warriors and
the Mommy Valley Country day Hawks tournament game. This broadcast
of Varsi Boys postseason basketball is presented by Matthews Honda Acurra.

(09:39):
This is the Northwest two District Championship game at Division
six being contested at the Mruger Mayer Gymnasium at old
Ford High School in Tiffan, Ohio, Sinica County. Mommy Valley
Country Day is a three seed Mohawk the top seeded
the Mommy Valley Country Day Hawks have arrived from Toledo,
Lucas County, a trip of about forty five mile. The

(10:00):
Mohawk Warriors have made it here from Sycamore Wine Dot County,
a trip about twenty miles to Tommy Valley Country day
Hawks have a record of sixteen and eight. They're coming
off of Wednesday night district semifinal victory over Hope Well
Loudon forty nine to forty. The Mohawk Warriors carry a
record of twenty one and two. They're coming off of
sixty two to fifty four victory over Toledo Christian and
their district semifinal on Wednesday. Mohawk is a member of

(10:25):
the Northern Ten Athletic Conference. Mommy Valley Country Day belongs
to the Toledo Area Athletic Conference. Mommy Valley Country Day
head coaches on Tafeon Fleming in his fourth season, assisted
by Earl Morris and Cole Prophet. Mohawk's head coaches Paul
Dunn in his eighth season, assisted by Mike Haynes, Rick Keckleberry,
Ryan McLean, Troy Keller, and Brock Cleveland. They're announcing the

(10:55):
reserves right now and then they will get to the
starters in just These two programs did face only once before.
That was six seasons ago for a district semifinal of
False Toya that was on Mars the fourth, twenty nineteen
that Mammy Valley Country Day did win. That contest ninety

(11:16):
four was seventy eight. The Mommy Valley players are wearing
their red blue uniforms with scripted white lettering. The Mohawk
players are addressed in their home whites with red scripted
lettering bordered in black. We've seen so many of the
fans from Sycamore showing up for this game, and now

(11:43):
we're gonna get the public address announcement. Oh yeah, my goodness. Yes,

(12:38):
so uh very energetic INTROI for the Bammy Valley Counts
of Day players. They are young, they are enthusiastic, they
are talented, as we will allow you to listen into
the starters for Bohak. There you go for The winner

(13:39):
of this game will be district champions in advance to
the regional tournament on Tuesday, which is Bart's the fourth
at the Stro Center on the campus of Bowling Green
State University. The opponent will be either the Intens champion
Colonel Crawford Eagles or the second place team of the
Fireland's Conference, the Aceland Press Cougars. Our game officials tonight
Michael Byrd, Ralph Green had doug Us lover three, we

(14:01):
are all very familiar with and they're also friendly to
us too. I think they're friendly. They're just about everybody.
But right now it's game time and it is all business.
So Connor flood from Mohawk to jump it up versus
ty lewis a bomby Mattley Country Day. The opening tip
brought to you by the Ohouse University of Marion. And

(14:21):
as mister burd in the middle tosses it up and
a tip initially one in his by, Mommy Valley Country
Day had to save it and the sideline Wilson, but
he was able to do so, and say Robinson, their
five four freshman guard. He is a dynamic young player.
So we're gonna from dro were gonna steal already here Hame,
I'm on the move, welled away with the layups, swirls

(14:43):
aw dole and it is a rebound for Mommy Valley
Country Day with Stokes their leading score. Oh man, we
get another turnover to stealers tie by Cleveland. Fine Tayman
lay up there and goes and Mohawk is on the
board first two to nothing. So Mommy Balley Country Day

(15:03):
certainly recognize that this is a game which they have
to have maximum focus and they take it inside with
Wilson no good offen three bound lost by Lewis, It's
taken by Bugner for the Mohawk Warriors. Left to right
has Bloomberg Cleveland with a nice sake a crossover getting
away fro Robinson throws it up there, but there's Lewis
defensively able to dissuade that. One does a company the
other way with Stokes for the Hawks at the corner,

(15:27):
Price who Wilson back to Price gets it into Wilson
in the lane out left side Robinson for three. He
strokes it through and Mommy Valley Country Day has its
first lead in this game on a three from Robinson.
It is Mohawk basketball, moving it right to left. From
the perspective of the scores desk again, we are at

(15:48):
the catwalk behind the Mommy Valley Country Day, who three
to two in favor of the Hawks. Mohawk with the
ball and Cleveland takes on the three, drives to the bucket,
throws up runner off the heel of the rim offensive
rebound flood. He's got his first out the Haines and
dat's three points, Sohooner and that's off the lid. But
fight for the rebound and just take it out by
Ty Lewis and his back for the Valley. On the

(16:12):
drive Stokes to the left corners the Price back out
the Stokes his three and that's good. So two threes
already from Ommy Valley Country day one from Robinson and
there from Stokes. The leading scorer averages twenty two points
per game. So it is six to two in favor

(16:33):
of the Valley Mohawk with the basketball uphie, here's Haynes
for three straight away does it go? And the rebound
Wilson for the Valleys. They moving into the front court,
leading it six to two. Here early in this contest,
he got a couple of turnovers, but they've hit a
couple of threes, one of them from the player right

(16:55):
here in Stokes, that's the right side. Wilson in the lane,
come past out to Robinson out in the Price takes
on the three and then pulls it back up as
they reset the offense around the high Street from Lewis
the right side to Stokes and Kieran Stokes. He is
really quick. He likes one on one situations. The Warriors.
They stalk him right side to Wilson back to the

(17:15):
left point to Robinson, back over. Oh, there's a little
contact there, no call. Stokes is able to get the
ball back away from Haines, dishes inside to Lewis, bubbles
it and gets it up to Robinson. Mommy Valley Country nake.
He's been dusting the ball on the dry Stokes runner
right handed. Good. He is a fabulous scorer. Kieran Stokes
has to be dealt with. It is eight to two

(17:36):
in favor of the Hawks, Mohawk Warriors. They're getting glissy early.
Oh and then Robinson steals the dribble from Cleveland. And
if we get a three Stokes sets off the glass,
are you kidding me? Whoa we want to start for

(17:56):
Mommy Valley Country Days. There's a Mohawk Warriors. They want
the time out. Of course they do down eleven to
two where the scoreboard it has it way off. Yes
it's five to two, but yeah, they've got to fix that. Well,
that's the thing. These players from Mommy Valley Country Day,

(18:17):
they have really been improving as the season has gone along,
and that's what you gotta have. So some of the
things that I'm sure the Mohawk Warriors are discussing some
defensive adjustments here. Finally they get the scoreboard right. Yeah,

(18:43):
they just were reluctant to put eleven points up there
for Mommy Valley Country Day. Elbows as if they don't
believe it. Now it's correct. Mohawk trails by nine here
early four point thirty one to go in the first quarter.
Honnie imbound to Bloomberg Cleveland and dribble gets by Robinson.
This time he took it steel once and Cleveland, he

(19:05):
is a smart player, takes it at the teeth of
the defensive. Price goes over to Haynes. His three left
side heads off the lid off. It's a rebo put
back his course from Bloomer Cleveland. So Cleveland on with
that rebound and do so good play right there, and
that's his first field goal. It is eleven to four.
So the Mohawks still in a little bit of a hole.

(19:25):
They got to try their words through Karen Stokes for
the Valley left side, the Saint Robinson. The're around the
green from Wilson into the top. Lewis right side of Stokes,
guarded by Cleveland. On the switch, it's flood on him
left side the Price. He hasn't shot the ball yet.
But he's a number two score and then we get
a three. Lewis off the lid, bomb bat it out it,

(19:46):
Stokes inside shuffles it in the Price and the turnarounds cold.
Jamee Grum Price with the score, and you think about
Stokes being a score, but he also can pass it
a nice pass right there for Kieren Soakes. So when
it's thirteen to four favor of Mommy Valley Country Day,
Bloomer Cleveland on the drive to the left side Hayman,
the three is up in the air, and that's good

(20:08):
when they need a big bucket off in times it
is Kane Hayman. So he pulled the Warriors to within
six Bmmy Valley Country Day. With the ball did he
get thirteen to two seven to the right side to
Robinson guarded by Hayman, nine Green said by Lewis frees him.
Robinson pull up and score in the mid range. So
that is a second bucket for say Robinson. As Mommy

(20:31):
Valley Country Day takes a fifteen to seven lead back
to the Mohawk Warriors. Hayman between the rings tries to
split through the double team with good health defense out
to Cleveland. His three that's way short, just skims the
net goes out of bounds at the baseline for the Warriors,
they got to get their legs under him, and Caleb
bish checks in for the Warriors and sitting out Ben

(20:55):
Pogner and Bish. He is someone who brings a lot
of energy in that and is perhaps what the Warriors
need right now. Trading in fifteen to seven with two
thirty six ago in the first quarter Bmmy Valley Country
Day with the basketball, Robinson at the high left side,
works around the screen from Lewis. Continue with the dribble
right sideline of Robinson, who's made a couple of shots,
including US three. As he drifts back towards the Mohawk bench,

(21:16):
goes around the high screen from Lewis, the little Stagger
dribble bounds past his side. Lewis bobbles the ball, gets
a right back, powers up right hand and scores tie
Lewis the seven footer with his first hoop. It is
seventeen to seven Mommy Valley Country Dave Mohawk Warriors with
the ball Bloomberg Cleveland when they count across over other
hands to Haynes threes up in the air off the lid,

(21:39):
off as a rebound. Bush shelves it to flood and
his hook is off the lids. Lewis clears a rebound
for the Valley as they bring it up into the
front court. Their Price on the move had fouled on
that drive. Makes the layup afterwards, but it was too
late as that was a foul on Hunter Haynes for
the Mohawk Warriors. Yeah, first foul. Well, this one has

(22:04):
been pretty clean so far, so we're gonna get an
underneath him bound the seer. Wilson high to Lewis four,
the Valley leading against seventeen to seven to win forty
five to go in the first quarter to Robinson has
a high left side. It's based on him to the top.
Test Tokes w it was around the screen from Lewis.

(22:27):
He is all over there, Wilson left side. Price for
three in and out and there's a rebound for it.
Tate Letton. He chalks up with the dribble behind the
back to elude Robinson. Nice dribble there out to the
three point shooting paint. Haymon Hayman's gotta be the one
the shooting now. It's u seam second three for Hayman.

(22:49):
He's got eight points and Mohawk is within seven. Seventeen
to ten is the count one ten to go in
this first quarter of the district championship game. Right side
the Price, he stumbles through and throws up a fat
away and Hinson jabram Price, Wow, that was a gorgeous shot.
His second who makes it? Nineteen to ten? Mommy Valley

(23:11):
Country Day, Mohawk play the basketball. Hayman on the penetration,
takes it all the way up with the left hand
of the lid. Price boards for the Valley, puts it
the under direction for the Hawks, leading in nineteen to ten,
forty three seconds left in the first oh on a
travel there by Lewis He shrew did he took an
extra step before he passed the ball. Whoops third tone

(23:33):
over four the valley, so back for Mohawk. Trailing get
nineteen to ten, forty seconds left and a fast moving
first quarter. The Warriors want to get some points. So far,
Hayman has been the main one to the liver. Know
him to Bish takes it inside, put off by Wilson
high right side. Hayes three in and ounce and a

(23:54):
rebound underneath for Wilson. And fowls as he was going
for that rebound appears to be a Caleb, so first
personnel on bish. A couple of team fouls for the
Mohawk Warriors has been Botner returns to the Warrior lineup
to replace Hunter. Hayes. Wilson on the in bound to

(24:18):
Robinson upright dribble given plenty of room the Warriors not
in the full court press mode here seventeen seconds left
hit this first quarter. The Valley leads it nineteen to ten.
Robinson the price as they works a weave action, the
Stokes crosses over the right side up of sidelight. Robinson
three seconds left pulls up belong to No into the

(24:41):
lap of Bonner. His heat too short and too late.
So at the end of one on our Wilson Tire scoreboard,
it is Mummy Valley Country Day, nineteen Mohawk ten. We'll
be back for the start of the second quarter for
this district championship game. So letter with us for Matthews
Da Griboy High schol Basketball Game of the Week. I'm

(25:01):
Magic ninety five to nine and iHeartRadio the Matthews.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Honda Akira High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
As we start off the second quarter of this district
championship game at Old Fort. It is Mimmy Valley Country Day,
leading in nineteen to ten on Mohawk eight points for
Kieran Stokes for the Hawks, five for Say Robinson, four
for Jumpman Price, and two for ty Lewis for the
team that is leading the Mohawk Warriors with the ball,
Kane Hayman has eight of those ten points. The other

(25:27):
or two points from Boomer Cleveland as they're working inside
Flood right side Bogner on the drive for the Warriors,
trying to get a little bit closer. Flood has it
at the right arc and passes out of a two
Pogner to the top two Cleveland left side Hayman. All
this time they get on him, but he drives in
and kicks it out Bogner high right three side our
no rebound winds up Robinson back for the Valley trying
to add to a nineteen ten lead. Wilson on the

(25:49):
turnaround hangs in the air. All the creativity of Wilson,
Oh my god, he hung in the air and almost
Jordan esque. I dare say that with that shot twenty
one the ten Mommy Valley Country day the Mohawk with
the ball and they're gonna have to step up here.

(26:10):
They know it and foul. It's called on Kieran Stokes
and uh yeah, his head coach on Tavian Flimming, letting
him know about it. He is a very energetic coach
where they call him Coach flim This is his fourth
season going inbound Mohawks shut left side, no rebound ty

(26:32):
Lewis twenty one to ten is the valley lead is
there in the front court with the ball again with
Robinson goes around the Lewis green at the top. Oh
quick release on the three. That one's way off the
mark hit the backboard, so went his back for the
Mohawk O Warriors down twenty one to ten just a

(26:54):
minute fifteen into the second quarter of quick crossover heymn
old way oh, but block by Lewis. He is four
blocks per game at seven feet. He knows how to
use that wings paass back for the Hawks leading get
twenty one to ten, up to Lewis to the right
side to the price. He's made a couple of field
goals in this game. Robison hes it at the top

(27:17):
this badly on the three moments ago, but he hit
a three earlier in the contest. At the first quarter
our right side to Stokes and the leading scorer drives
in cut off by Cleveland out to the right side.
Lewis dumps it inside the Price. He's got bitch on
his back. Price with a turnaround, fade away no and
rebound Flood his sucking for the Mohawk Warriors as they

(27:38):
move into the front court Cleveland to the right side.
Hey Man all hesitated on the shot. Didn't take it
out to Haines and up to Cleveland. Oh, perhaps the
Warriors do want to work through the offense just a
little bit more than they had in some previous trips.
A shot at the free throw line Haynes, that does
it go tip up? Flood can't get it a ris
Lewis out with the repound from Mimmy felt country day

(28:01):
and on the speed. Don't slip. That's a travel no
call right there. But I don't think that was Stokes' fall.
I think the floor was just slippery, but the officials
let that go. Mohawk nonetheless gets the ball back shot
right or off the mark for Hayman, then a rebound
for Stokes as he looks to push it through traffic
that cut off there by Haynes and coach done. He
is getting on his players to make sure that they

(28:22):
are in proper position and we get a time out.
As Paul Dunn, he has extensive remarks that he wants
to give to the players and he is fired up.
He is letting them have it and he knows what
they are capable of. And the thing is this Mohawk
Warrior team, they respond to tough coaching. They like that

(28:43):
because they want to compete and they want to win
some time out Brought to you by the Quest Frontal
Credit Unified, seventeen to go Home in the second quarter
in Mohawk Trainly get twenty one to ten to Mommy
Valley Country Day and just some moves we've seen from
some of the players from the Hawks. And the one

(29:05):
that got my attention to most was an aerial scoop
from Nausea or Wilson. This is shore Like, what do
you do to stop that? If he's gonna make that shot, well,
you just tip your cap and go back on the
other end and play defense for the Mohawk Warriors. Yeah.
Caine Hayman, he has been the one. He's made a
couple of threes. He has eight points in the other

(29:27):
two points from boom Er Cleveland Hunter Haynes. He has
been putting up some shots, but they just have not
been falling as of yet. We've seen him have some
big shooting performances, none bigger than at the end of
the regular season at home versus Seneca East, in which
he nailed ten threes four the program record. Mohawk would

(29:50):
love to get Hunter on the track like that again.
So while the time out is Mommy Balley Country Day
with the ball on the imbound Wilson up high too.
Stokes drips over to the left point, he hands it
off to Wilson, goes around the screen from Lewis, and
we get a foul a moving screen it appears or no,
it's on mohawk. Yeah. Lewis even appeared to be confused
about what was being called there. He looked like he

(30:12):
was going the other direction the playde and no. Instead
the foul is called on. Oh hay Man, Okay, yeah,
it was on. Hold, Okay, Hayman. All right, that's his
first personal all right, So twenty one to ten, i'my
Valley Country Day with the leading the ball with under

(30:34):
five to play until halftime, Price with a little jab,
brings it up Hie left side, trying to work against
bis a pie to Stokes, who's leading everybody and scoring
in his game. He's a leading scorer for the team
as well. Floats it inside to Lewis. Here's the one
on one game, trying to take it a flood jump hook.
Oh wow, nice play there by Tide Lewis. He has

(30:55):
been working hard on his game and it is showing
twenty three to ten for the valley. So Mohawk with
a basketball, they gotta work through this up Hi Cleveland
for three and that's off the lid. And that's a
big part of how Mohawk has been winning a lot
of games. They hit shots. Here's Hayman's try and that's

(31:16):
frontire no. So when in nine which they're struggling to
hit the shots, that accounts for this deficit of thirteen points,
four oh nine to go. What's till halftime? Mohawk gets
the ball right back with Cleveland up high, crosses over
to the left hand since ow left side. Haynes a
three and that's inside of rim. Now rebound Price back

(31:36):
to the valley trying to add to what twenty three
to ten lead on the Mohawk Warriors. Warriors the top
seed and Price on the drive go on offensive. Foul
pulled on Price there using a little bit of that
forearm against bish so jamn Price with the personal and

(32:08):
they are going to allow for a substitution. Charlie Gorsky
six foot senior for Mummy Valley Country Day is onto
the floor and there's a stoppage for some reason. So
coach Dunn it's taking the opportunity to talk to his players.
And now we see the same from coach Fleming. Some

(32:32):
discussion over there the official Doug Deslofer over at the
scores test. Something they wanted to work through, and we're
not nearly close enough to hear what they're talking about.
Seems to be resolved. Okay, so we're back to live
play with three forty four to go until halftime. Mohawk
with the ball trailing at twenty three to ten, down
low Cleveland ball fake because the blocked by lewis his

(32:54):
second luck and it's back for the Valley. They get
into Stokes for texta dripple left side Lewis. Stokes has
it back, holds the ball at his right hip, puts
down the dribble around the screen from Lewis. Help defense
comes from flood sit a side down inflected stolen there
by Bish gets into Cleveland. Mohawk ball. Got to string
together some hoops. They've had some open shots, just haven't

(33:15):
been able to get him down. Hayman inside missed with
the left hander, gets it back out to Cleveland, fakes
on the three takes it side, floats it up over
Lewis no inside position. Wilson to get the rebound against
the taller flood Baumy Valley Country Day with the basketball
once again leading in twenty three to two ten, with
three to zero seven remaining until halftime into Lewis. He's

(33:36):
scored on this play before, but passes out of it.
Here Wilson his threes up in the air off the
front iro rebound Hayman mohawk ball. He waits for everybody
to go the other direction. Then johns up with the
dribble upright, looks over at his head coach Paul Doun.
He gives some instructions, and he has to do so
loudly in this Environment's here had the old Ford in
this district championship game, Bishop high, the flood down low

(34:00):
Cleveland whistle before the shot didn't go in anyway. It
looks like there was a fowl underneath by Stokes, so
I was clearly wrong, as I'll say Robinson all right.
So Robinson picking up the personal from on me Valley
Country Day two thirty nine to go and tell halftime
Mahawk with the ball trailing get twenty three to ten, a

(34:23):
pie to Bish, takes it inside out to Cleveland fakes
and then takes a long two. That's front hour no,
and Wilson clears another rebound from Valley Country Day and
officially I have that full rebound for him and the
three Robinson left side too strong and there's Haynes to
collect it off. The bounce for the Mohawk Warriors finds
boomer Cleveland with two twenty to go until halftime and

(34:45):
the Warriors trailing twenty three two ten sent to the
left side to Haynes to the top. Cleveland feeds it
in the fish and the ball goes out of bounds,
so Ben Pogner back on to the floor for Mohawk.
Fish goes out. We're heading to the two minute mark

(35:07):
of the second quarter and the Warriors so far have
not scored in this quarter. In bound baseline for Cleveland,
a pie to Bogner drives to the right wing, a
pie to Hayman at the right side, and on the
switch is Robinson him. They're on defense. Back to Cleveland inside.
Haynes shot left art and yeah, the SHOT's just not

(35:29):
falling for the Warriors. One fifty to go until halftime.
Mommy Valley Country Day. With the ball, did he get?
Twenty three to ten on the drive? Stoke hit hard
there by Flood and the Hawk teammates. They go over
there to check on their star. Nothing dirty about the vowl,
just a hard vowl. Connor Flood his first personal hearing

(35:56):
Stokes at the free throw line. The All Conference first
team are out of the attack. First free throw goes
four Stokes. He's also All District first teamer. Yeah, remarkably
after all this play, this is the first free throw.
Second free throw that's good as well. So Stokes gets

(36:19):
it done at the line. Twenty five to ten. Mommy
Valley Country Day, Mohawk with the basketball into the front court.
Hayman has a high left side working on Stokes to
the top two. Cleveland puts out a dribble right back
to Hayman, pulls up for the three over Wilson. That
one's too strong. Weeks that rebound. Price takes it for
the Valley. Looking to push the other direction. Gohawk Warriors
are able to get back on defense, so the half

(36:39):
court set for the Hawks. With one twenty three to
go until half time, Mommy Valley country Day leading it
twenty five two ten, just pass right side of Robinson,
beating it down lowd to Wilson, looking it back in
onm Flood another jump hook, this time too strong. He
made one earlier rebound for Hayman. Then a refit fowl
called on the zeer the Wilson, the first personal on Wilson.

(37:06):
Four team fouls from Iman Valley Country Day in this
second quarter. One oh nine to go until halftime. The
Mohawk Warriors they really need something. Hanges up high at
Cleveland around the screen from Flood, kicks it out left
side Hayman for three, and it doesn't go this time,
both deflected and Stokes off his foot able to get
ahead to Robinson. Lay up, Yeah, say Robinson, he's got

(37:34):
seven points. He gives the Valley twenty seven to ten lead.
He is quick right back for Mohawks into too the
right side, Hanes up high Hayman into the body offensive
foul as Robinson's was sprunk flying there and Hayman just
led a little bit with the shoulder. So second personal one.

(38:00):
Hayman three team pounds on the Mohawk Warriors in the
second quarter, so Hayman goes out of the game. Caleb
bushes back on for Mohawk. All right, so twenty nine
seconds remaining until half times. That's Mommy Valley Country Day
wanting to get the district championship, leading it on the

(38:20):
top seed twenty seven to ten. It appears that coach
Flim wants his players the hole for a final show
on the half down to twelve seconds screen set by
Lewis taken by Stokes as to the right side help
defenses there, right side Robinson for three Oh my gosh,
say Robinson makes it thirty to ten. Final second heave

(38:41):
hats and it's too short in the first half. Oh,
Mommy Valley Country Day heading into the break with a
twenty point lead on the top seed. What just goes
a show? Do you have a top seed that doesn't

(39:02):
protect you? We've heard coaches say that before records you
throw them out. You gotta go and play, and so
far the Hawks are doing just that. Well, well, we'll
take a break, get you ready for our Read Insurance
Agency halftime show. Plenty of things to discuss there, including

(39:23):
some news throughout the in ten, some teams that could
be added, schools and programs, I should say, So we'll
talk about that and of course talk about this first half.
Gets you ready for the second half of as well.
On our Wilson Tire scoreboard, it is Momay Valley Country
Day thirty Mohawk ten. That's with us for Matthew Sundaker
Boys high school basketball game of the week as they

(39:45):
play for a district championship of Magic ninety five to
nine high School Basketball Magic ninety five nine. We've arrived
at a Reading Church Agency halftime show here at old
Ford for this Division six district championship game, and on
our entire scoreboard it is Mimmy Valley Country Day thirty
Mohawk ten. That Mohawk did not score at all in

(40:08):
the second quarter and they missed their final sixteen shots.
If that is something that they're going to try to
work through, maybe just in the second half the things
will work out better. On the other hoop that that's
been a big part of Mohawk's success is making shots.
They've had open shots and they just have not been falling.

(40:29):
That is really the bottom line. Well, we talked about
it leading into the show in ten looking to expand
we knew that for a while, but now we've got
six schools official invitations to join Lucas New Regal old Ford.
It was where we are right now. Diffon Calvert, Willard

(40:52):
and Hope, Well Louden Hope allowed in the program to
just played Mommy Valley Country Day in the previous round.
So that would be interesting as it would renew some
in league rivalries that we remember from before for some
teams that were in the Northern Ohio League, the Midland
Athletic League, the North Central Conference. So we'll see. We'll

(41:15):
keep an eye out for any announcements regarding the acceptance
by any of these schools. And again, Hope we'll allow
in Lucas New Regal hold for Tiffan, Calvert and Willard
extended official invitations as a result of votes from school
superintendents and bringing on new schools. We know it's going

(41:36):
to result in some sort of conference realignment, so we'll
look out for the tails on that as well. So
we'll take st break, we'll come back and we'll run
through the scoring from the first half and then get
your set for the second half of our game. Again.
At the half, it is Mamma Valley Country Day leading
at thirty to ten on Mohawk. At the half of

(41:57):
Matthew's an actor boys after the basketball game the other week,
I'm acting five nine as.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
They play for a district Tapia hip the Matthews Honda
Akura High School game of the Week.

Speaker 1 (42:09):
Here we are back high school basketball Magic ninety five
nine here at Old Fort where the Goldhawk Warriors are
trailing at the half thirty to ten to the Mommy
Valley Country Day Hawks. And yeah, it's just really been
a struggle for the Warriors making the shots. That's really
what it's come down to. We knew that the Hawks

(42:32):
were gonna have scoring opportunities, especially with those talented players,
a young team and very talented, but yeah, fotted line,
it's a make or miss type of proposition. You gotta
make them in order to advance. So we'll we'll just
run down the scoring for you from the first half
of play for Mommy Valley Country Day. They've got two

(42:54):
players with ten points. One is Satie Robinson. We had
a couple of threes. The other is Kieran Stokes. He
also hit a couple of threes. He's the only one
to make any free throws or even shoot any free
throws in this game. Used two for two. Also four
points for Tyde Lewis, four points for Giburn Price, and

(43:15):
two points for the Zeer Wilson on the Mohawks side,
eight points for Kine Hayman, two points for Boomer Cleveland.
So others are going to have to get into the mix.
And wat I'm watching the warm ups and well, the shots, yeah,
they're all dropping in. There are just five shots made

(43:36):
in a row by Haynes, Cleveland, buildner on. Then we
get a miss. Maybe I need to stop talking about it,
all right, but we'll take one last break. We'll come
back and we'll see if the Mohawk Warriors could show
more of that shooting form that has helped them to
such a strong record that they're gonna need it to

(44:00):
get our score. Thirty to ten. Mimi Valley Country Day
leads Mohawk. We'll be back to start off the third
quarter for Matthews Hondaker Boys Highchoo Basketball Game of the Week.
I'm metic ninety five nine to iHeartRadio the.

Speaker 2 (44:11):
Matthews Honda Akura High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 1 (44:15):
High School Basketball Magic ninety five to nine. We just
had forty five seconds run off of the third quarter
and we did get a score, and it was for
Mammy Valley Country Day. So instead of it being thirty
to ten, it's thirty two to ten, and there's a
fast break jam by Jabrim Price and the Hawks do

(44:39):
have the ball right back, so leading get thirty two
to ten. Mohawk did get possession of the ball and
then did turn it over as we get a shot.
Price left baseline. No repound for color flood, so we'll
see if the Warriors can mount a comeback. But they
don't have a lot of time to mess around here.
Cleveland almost losing the ball, but it's able to get

(44:59):
it back the flood in the lane, turn around Cleveland
and shoots it over. Lewis no good, but a rebound
near stands by Wilson and it is back for Mummy
Valley Country Day thirty two to ten. So Kieren Stokes
at the top to the left side to Price who
scored on the dunk. A couple of possessions ago right

(45:19):
side to Wilson splits through a double team, but they
helped defensive get her for Flood up Hi the Price
pull up over Flood and it bounces in. There's just
a matter of time before jeb Broom Price started to
step up his game. The number two score for this
team averaging eighteen points. It's thirty four to ten in
favor the Mummy Valley Country Day. The Mohawk wears the

(45:42):
three Haynes front of the rim, No and Wilson with
an inside position and gets to the rebound for the
Valley and then they get it down though Heather two
hands to roll down tam for ty Lewis. Everything going
right for Mommy Valley Country Day. So they've called a

(46:13):
foul here. It maybe because of the rim hang by Lewis.
So Hunter Haynes gets to shoot at the line all
by himself. The thirty six to ten is the Mommy
Valley Country Day lead Haines. He had set first free throw. Yeah,

(46:37):
this is the first free throw attempt of the game
for the Mohawk Warriors. The second one does not go
for Hanes stwards thirty six to eleven. All right, here

(46:58):
we go for the Mohawk Warriors. They gotta show that
fight right now. Down thirty six to eleven and five
forty eight to go. And then we get a blucking foul,
say Robinson against the triple of Boomer Cleveland. So second
personal on the freshman guard Robinson sideline inbound Hunter Haynes

(47:22):
for the Warriors, boats into the back corn to Boomer Cleveland,
met defensively by Stokes. Cleveland with a crossover to the
left hand off my hesitation, kicks it out Bogner quick
release on the three. This rolls off rebound Stokes back
to the valley, trying to head to a thirty six
to eleven lead price for three. It's front hour, no
offensive rebound. Wilson falls down, It's going to under direction.

(47:44):
Haymen on the floor able to save it. Ahead to
Cleveland for Mohawk five twenty three to go. When the
third Bogner has it the left side up high Haynes
four to three front rim. No, Wow, the SHOT's just
not going in for the Mohawk Warriors. Tonight back from
the valley the other direction leading at thirty six to
eleven to three for Price, and he's dialed in first

(48:06):
three of the night for Jabram Price. It is thirty
nine to eleven Mammy Valley Country Day. Oh and then
a rip Robinson takes away from Cleveland and then passes
it down load to Stokes who almost loses it. And
then there's a contact there Cleveland, no call, and they
get it right back out the Stokes with four fifty
remading in the third Mommy Valley Country Day with the
ball and leading at thirty nine to eleven, Well Stokes,

(48:31):
he slows things up right side to Robinson down low.
Haines gets his hand in there, fronting on the seven
foot or Lewis so Haynes able to come up with
the steel Mohawk with the basketball, Haines keeping the ball
in a possession cut off there by Price, Kogner high
right to the wing, Flood finds a cutter Cleveland layup
tore all today need that thirty nine to thirty Lumer

(48:58):
Cleveland this second hoop as a Mohawk. Warriors call for
a thirty second quest Federal Credit Union time out. And
this might be one of those timeouts in which the
players just need to breathe. They have been going out
there hard. And yes, the Valley their players, they are quick,
they are talented, and they are fears for nineteen to

(49:24):
go in this third quarter. As we noted in the open,
these two programs did face each other only one other time,
six seasons ago, back in March of twenty nineteen. On
the Holly Country Day won that contest in ninety four
seventy six. I should might recall the Valley at that
time was led by zeb Jackson, currently a college player

(49:45):
for VCU, previously played for the University of Michigan. Back
then for Mohawk led by Zach Hamon, who is here
in attendance watching his brother Caine Hayman play along with
the other Hawk Warriors. But it is Mammy Valley Country Day.
With the ball in the front court runner Stokes no
Good with a thirty nine to thirteen leads Blood with

(50:07):
a rebound for the Mohawk Warriors coming the other direction,
stepping into a three. Hey man, and he's crazy. Well,
that's how you can get a rally going. We gotta
get scores thirty nine to sixteen and then the right
side three that does not go for Gorski but a
rebound Lewis City hits it off the window with the

(50:28):
right hand. Tye Louis makes it forty one to sixteen,
right back Hayman another three. He's just lost hurting, hey Man.
He is gonna continue to fight. We'll see. Still a
long climb, but it's forty one to nineteen with three
and a half to go in this third quarter. Mammy

(50:50):
Valley Country Day with the nice lead on twenty two
inside work at Wilson, left side Gorseki three rs.

Speaker 3 (51:03):
Is it hole?

Speaker 1 (51:05):
Wow, So Charlie Gorsky off the bench able to hit
that three. Forty four to nineteen. They stopped play in
order to get the net down after that shot by
gorse Ky, and then it's back for the Mohawk Warriors.
Trailer get forty four to nineteen. Cleveland with it up high,

(51:27):
working on Wilson to the left side him in another three,
and that one's off the heel rebound. Price looses it.
The poker whistled, and it's gonna be Valley ball, all right?

(51:47):
Is the inbound the ball? Here we go the other direction.
Lewis right side, Gorsky another three for the other side.
He hits it. He hit one from the left, this
time from the rights. Charlie Gorsky forty seven to nineteen
Mammy Valley Country day o'lahawk with the basketball bish inside
leaner right hand. Lewis is there to clear it back

(52:10):
for the Valley the other direction. Stokes on the move
hangs in the air left hand Nope, and fight for
the rebounder to need price with Bugner. They wind up
on the floor, so tie up. So with the possession
of arrow is Bullhawk basketball two and a half remaining
in the third quarter. Some moisture on the floor as

(52:33):
a result of that action, so the Valley players they
just retreat on defense. They get to the back court,
no full court pressure, inbound the ball Moutlehawk too, but
word leaf and to the front court down forty seven

(52:54):
to nineteen clefand races the bucket oh blocked at the
last moment by Lewis, but a blocking fowl call. It
looks like Douga Slofer is pointing at Nazir Wilson. Yep,
Wilson being tagged for the fowl. Yep. Second personal for Wilson.

(53:16):
All right, so win bound the ball. Hayman pull up
right baseline and it's through well Caine Hayman. He is
doing everything he can for these Mohawk Warriors, strending forty
cents twenty one. Oh, I get to steal here for
Hayman over the short of pass Cleveland three off the heel.
Help Bucks out there for Bish to take that reybout
away from Price. Lohawk is possessed a deep three here.
Please let off the glass o whistle and a foul

(53:39):
Mohawk underneath. Bogner and Bish were down there. It's called
on Ben Bogner. Herst personal on Bogner and only one
team fowl on Mohawk in this third quarter Cutther Haynes

(54:06):
returning for the Mohawk Warriors in for Ben Bogner, Haines, Hayman, Bish,
Cleveland Blood on defense for the worst. Will we get
a steal here? Hayman tries to get to it and
I know it's a tackle here and uh turning around
Stokes and he puts his hands up there and Hayman
comes over there and he gives him a tap on
the back saying, yeah, nothing personal. I'm just trying to

(54:28):
get to the ball. I did is mimmy Valley country
day with a basketball leading get forty seven to twenty
one under two to play in the third. Golston on
the dribble up high, crosses over in a lane and

(54:48):
wave it all. Caring violation got her in official Ralph
Green he saw it and he called it. So it's
back from Mohawk down forty seven to twenty one with
one forty seven remaining in the third. They gotta get
up shots, and they gotta make shots. Mish out the

(55:12):
Hayman for three off the front iron rebound corse Ka
back for the Valley. He almost don't hemm on, he's
got it what anticipation falls down on a slippery spot.
Oh and he lives hurt. He's slow to get up.
He tries to jog back, but he's got an awkward gait,
but he will fight through as Wilson takes it up

(55:35):
and right at Flad. Nice shot there for the zeer. Wilson.
That's his second field goal, makes it forty nine to
twenty one for the Valley. Pull up baseline, does it
go for Hanes rebound underneath Wilson the head Tommy Valley
Country Day soaks on the push side step No good
on the shot rebound in Cleveland back for Mohawk with

(55:55):
him and then left. In the third, Cleveland has a
left side help to Hamu deep three in and out
off of the rebound. Flood puts him up any foul
course game being called for the personal so three point
play chads for Counor Flood. So the first personnel on

(56:22):
the six foot seat or tonal lege corse Key. He
goes out of the game, replaced by a Timperen Price
gar Ryan Hart. He is going to check in apparently
for Conor Flood. If Flood makes his free throw, they'll

(56:43):
allow him to go in. So free throw Flood. Oh,
it doesn't go though, and then the ball is loose.
Price is able to get it for Mommy Bellley Country
day ahead to Wilson taking it at Hayman left side.
Here comes to three stokes. That's way off Haines is
there Mohawk the other direction trailing forty nine twenty three
thirty three seconds left in the third, Logner fixing the

(57:05):
three goes up to Haynes. His three is up in
the air, that's off the heel. Alt to Haymen. His
three is up and that's off the live and Wilson
with the rebound Romona Melly Country Day. And then we
get a retok foul Han Klebbitch a couple of personals

(57:27):
on Bish three team fouls for the Mohawk Warriors in
the third corner. This goes out of the game, replaced
by the senior Hayden Parker five foot ten. So the
valley with the ball pass picked off Haynes inside layup
doesn't go Wilson with the rebound sold out there Parker

(57:50):
fourteen seconds left, Haymen three, He's got it. Fifth three
of the game for Kine. Hayman forty nine to twenty six,
five seconds left, price does he know? It goes inside
Stokes two seconds stelling harmon he from helfpark sort Wow. Well,

(58:12):
the Mohawk Warriors, if they're gonna win this district, they're
gonna have to overcome a twenty three point deficit in
the fourth. Well, we'll bring it to you coming up next.
On our Wilson Tire scoreboard at the end of three,
it is Mimmy Valley Country Day forty nine, Mohawk twenty six.
This is our Matthew's on the Akro Boys High Go Basketball,
give it the week on Magic ninety five to nine

(58:32):
and iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (58:34):
The Matthews Honda Akurra High School Game of the Week High.

Speaker 1 (58:38):
School basketball Magic ninety five to nine fourth quarter time
of this district final at Old Fords Mimmy Valley Country Day.
With the ball and leading a forty nine to twenty
six on Mohawk, the Warrior defense has to be as
strong as it's ever been all season. Left side to
Wilson does the Warriors need to get the ball back,
and they need to get it back several times. It's

(58:59):
reeling by high right side Stokes on the drive down
low dump off Lewis no inside position. Price got it
two more points for a gifferent price. It's fifty one
to twenty six in favor of Miami Valley Country Day.
So here we go with Hayman to the left side

(59:21):
to Bogner between their rings, right side Haines for three.
Now he's got one. Maybe that gets him going. They
need everything they could get right now. His first feel
goals fifty one to twenty nine. Can we get a
steal for Hayman off to Haynes left side Bogner three.
That one's off the heel and I rebound. Lewis takes
it away from Ryan Hart, Hey, push it ahead. Here

(59:43):
comes Stokes on the move upt blood dry hay Oh
they caught fowl. Oh my gosh. Maybe he did get
a little over the arm, but he was way in
the air to contest that shot. Kane Hayman taking up
the personal his first foul?

Speaker 3 (01:00:03):
No is it?

Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
Wait a minute, no, he's that's not his first foul.
That's his third foul. Pardon me, that's a free throw?
Who does not go for Stokes. He's the only one
to shoot free throws for Mammy Valley Country Day tonight.
He is two of three here in Stokes, five ten

(01:00:28):
sophomore All District player, second free throw, that's good. He
has eleven points on the night, and he gives Mammy
Valley Country Day a fifty two to twenty nine league.
We'llhawk with the basketball a minute eight into this fourth quarter,

(01:00:48):
Flood out to Haynes, three. Yep, he's done it. Now
they gotta keep it going. Hits this second three fifty
two thirty two Mammy Valley Cup Day with the basketball
and the twenty point lead, braces the bucket price blocked
by Connor Flood in a call foul. Oh wow, all right,

(01:01:15):
So second personal cald On flood. So gemmerm Price to
the free throw line for the first time tonight about
the first one old problem. So Caleb Bush returns to

(01:01:37):
the lineup for the Mohawk Warriors. Ben Bogner back to
the bench for coach Donne. Second free throw Price, it's
good he makes the pair. Gemberan Price gives Fami Valley
Country Day of fifty four to thirty two League six
twenty seven to go in the fourth quarter. Cleveland with
an up high buying them back with their gribble against Robinson,

(01:01:58):
crosses over to the other all deflicted my Stokes, but
Hayman's able to retrieve it for the Mohawk Warriors in
the back court logs across the timeline. Six fourteen to
go in the fourth Hayman, with a step to side ribble,
gives it up to Haynes on the drive. Price on
d stomps up to Hayman step to side three over
Wilson for an hour no rebound Price, Mammy Valley, Mommy

(01:02:20):
Valley Country Day. With the basketball up fifty four to
thirty two, and we get a call. What is the call?
All time out? Okay, Coach Flim realize that his players
needed some help right there. So on Tavion Flimming calling

(01:02:41):
for the timeouts for Mammy Valley Country Day and there's
a full time house. We'll take the break as well.
Five fifty three to go. On the fourth, fifty four
to thirty two, Mammy Valley Country Day leads Mohawk for
Matthew's on the Ackera Boys ASC Basketball Game of the Week.
Imagine ninety five to nine the.

Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
