Speaker 1 (00:24):
Okay, Court, what is the question?
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Researchers say a good way to help figure out the
solution to a problem is to do this one simple thing.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
We are at eight seven seven nine, eight one oh
nine eight one. We're going to start with g then livermore,
Good morning. What is your guests for the brain Tease?
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Write it down? Do Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:44):
So many people say it's a good idea. If you've
got a problem or something you can't figure out, you
write it down and that will help you figure out
that problem. I have to say, I don't necessarily think
you're wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
It is in her own and I also think that's
why like therapists and people will recommend you journal all yeah,
because just by writing things down. You have to think
about it.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
But I always love when people go, that's not right.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
They kind of great answer, not the correct one, but
thanks for trying.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Jee, thank you so very much. Day, Thank you you too.
All right, Lee and Oakland, good morning. What do you think?
And the answer is.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Thank First ye take a moment to think about what
the situation is, and then maybe we act that way.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Got to think about the question first.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Sometimes they'll say, like, take a day before you react. Sure,
make a day.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
That's good. I like that.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
That's just my idea. I'm not saying that's right. It's
not correct, but it's in this in the correct mindset.
Researchers say, if you take a nap, it's a good
way to help you solve a problem.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Take a nap, that's good. Call me brain one right now. Yeah,
calm your brain and your soul. Absolutely absolutely, a little.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Early in the morning for a nap.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Oh Uliz Like, I can take one right now?
Speaker 3 (02:10):
I could? I really could you not? I can sleep,
no problem you guys, I've been great. Thank you so
so much. Listen here every morning. I appreciate you keeping
me busy throughout the day. I appreciate it.

your workday, just know we are going to be commercial free. Yeah,

And I learned the secret not too long ago. What
(02:44):
it's oftentimes more than ninety eight minutes.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
That's because I told you, Yeah, it was a great
secret to learn. I spilled the beans. Yeah, we always
go over.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Sure, so join us eight point fifty commercial free music
here on ninety eight point one The Breeze e Breze.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
I heard a flack on this Monday morning. It's the
Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Core. And because it's six
forty three, that means it's time for the more. You know.
I had mentioned a minute ago court that gen Zers
say they are actually doing away with something that I
would say all of us pretty much use on a
daily basis, and that is they are starting to use
(03:22):
flip phones instead of smartphones because the younger generation fears
that smartphones are turning their brains to mush, I love
this right. Yeah, so you remember the days of flip phones.
You can't send emojis on flip phones, you can't do
social media, you can't do chat GPT on smartphones. Like,
(03:45):
are they sure they want to do this?
Speaker 2 (03:47):
You can do you can make phone calls on flip phones.
We're talking about the old school flip phones. Yeah, like
the no, Yes, you can send texts, yeah, but you
have to use then pass.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Yeah. Like if you want to do the letter see,
you have to push the number two three times, or
the letter F you push the number three three times,
and then you could go.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Play Snake in the games. Remember Snake no is one
of the games that was offered on those old flip phones.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
No, I don't remember that.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Pretty great.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Oh well, we'll see what happens with kids with with
these coming back. I'm wondering also if we're going to
see like a resurgence of laptops and desktops. Yeah, I can't.
I mentioned smartphones are going to go away like this.
This trend is such a trip though, It's like that's
a big deal.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
I did love the feel of flipping open a flip phone,
that little clamshell.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Flip I just love how flip phones. Yeah, I used
to have the worlds like it was known for being
the world's smallest flip phone and I could put it
in my front pocket. My wife had that phone no way, Yes,
and it will Yes, that's crazy. I love that. I
would see I would love to see that come back.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
It is true when you think about you put your
phone down and you stay away from your phone for
a minute, not one person says I don't feel better, right.
We all feel better with less time on our phone.
So love that. The kids, the younger generation, they're bringing
these flip phones back, so we'll have to see. So
how do you feel about it? Do you have a
kid that is like definitely behind this idea? We'd love
(05:09):
to hear from you. Eight seven seven nine eight one
oh nine eight one. It's the more you know. And
we do it every weekday morning here at six forty.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
And a reminder coming up on Friday will be naming
a new Morning Breeze Person of the week. But we
always need your nominations. Somebody that's in your life doing
good things, you write in and tell us about it.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Yes, tell us who that person is that's always doing
good things. For other people, or maybe they've done something
great for you. We want to hear about them and
get those nominations. In ninety eight one The Breeze dot Com,
it's music.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
From Sergio Mendez at seven oh six here on ninety
eight point one The Breeze. You've got the Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Court and it's time now for the
Brighter Side. A chance for you to call in and
share the good things, the positive things, the happy things
that are happening in your life. You can do it
a couple of different ways. Call us eight seven seven,
nine eight one, nine eight one. You can also send

Speaker 1 (06:16):
It's Linda in San Francisco. Okay, so you are retired.
What did you do for a living?
Speaker 4 (06:22):
I was in law enforcement.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Did you like your job? Were you sad to retire
or were you one of those people counting today?
Speaker 4 (06:29):
No, I absolutely loved it and didn't know I was
going to retire until two months before I retired, and
my gut just said, you need to retire.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
So I did, Oh, are you enjoying retirement? Is it
the best? Or do you miss what you were doing
because you liked it so much?
Speaker 4 (06:46):
I miss what I do did, but thankfully when I left,
I was a supervisor, so I had my own crew,
my own units, and some of them stay in touch.
So I still feel like I have my toe in
the water kind of things. So cute and they are
what keep me, you know, sort of interested in it still.
(07:09):
But I'm loving my life. I've since I retire. This
is silly, but since I've retired, I actually lost one
hundred and fifteen pounds. I exercise, I lost more than
half my weight. I end just loving my life.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Into those It's awesome. Good for you. I go back
to the fact that you were saying a minute ago
about how you didn't even plan your retirement. It just
you woke up one day and decided, like, I've had
enough of the time, it's time to retire, and most
people are planning it for years out and you just
(07:47):
had a moment where you're like, you.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
Know what, Yeah, No, I always knew. I always knew
that that's how I would do it because I did
love my job so much.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
So if you were to give advice to somebody that's
about to retire, Linda, what would you tell them? Because
you've been through this and now you're kind of you're
well on the other side, which would you tell somebody
about to retire? What to do?
Speaker 1 (08:07):
What to expect?
Speaker 4 (08:08):
You know what? That's so hard because I have a
lot of friends they have retired since and gave gone
so many divergent ways. Some are taking on a second
job and so happy doing that. Me I'm a homebody.
I'm enjoying that. I have friends that love to travel,
so they do that. So I just just find your bliss.
(08:32):
I don't know what that is.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Yeah, there's like no roadmap, and that's the beauty of it.
You kind of just find a whole new passion in life.
And for you, like you lost so much weight, I mean,
you've exercise became your passion and eating healthy.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
And all that it did. And I'm just I mean,
I'm a boring person to other people, but I am
just living the life that I love and that's all
that matters.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Say, That's what matters. Good for you. Well, congratulations on
all you have like many reasons to celebrate.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Oh I have, yes, yes, extreme amount.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Man.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
I like you guys a lot. I'm retired, but I
listen to you every morning.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Now, thank you very much, have a great day and
thank you for listening you guys too.
Speaker 2 (09:13):

Speaker 1 (10:15):
We've got Adele in Millbray holding. Okay, Adele, ask us anything.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
Okay. Back in the day's nineties when we were like teenagers,
what was your thing to do? Bicycle or skateboard?
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Ooh oh, I love this one. I did a little both.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
I never got heavy into the skateboarding, but I had
a skateboard and I would skateboard around the neighborhood.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
And one of the coolest things I ever did is
we had some border Collie dogs. As I'd put them
on their leashes and I would sit down on my
skateboard and shepperd lady.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Would like I was like a bed lady.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
I was like, they would they would pull me down
the sidewalk on my skateboard.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
That's fun. It's so scared musher dogs. What about you, Adele,
bike or skateboard? I would pay a skateboard because it
was just easy.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
And conven me to carry you around. You got to
put a chain, you know, you can't bring it into
classrooms or anything.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
That's so awesome that you had a skateboard that you
would just get to school, like Adele. I'm both, but
I like skateboard. That is so cool. Adel was a
little skater girl. Yeah, you were a skater girl, Carolyn.
My brothers rode skateboards. I knew how to ride one,
but they always scared me. Way more confident on a bike,
and I used to ride my bike everywhere. There's like
(11:29):
a canal trail out in the East Bay that I
would ride my bike on hot summer nights on the
canal trail. Just go up on my south, go down
to Heather Farm Park, turn around, come back home. I
loved those days. What are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (11:42):
You used to?
Speaker 2 (11:42):
You still ride your bike quite often. You met me
for pizza the other day on your bike. I had
to er up my tires that day, trail. Okay, yeah
it was.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
It was the one time only, all right. I wanted
to get back into it, and I did it that day,
and now it's back up on my bike, all right. Anyway,
maybe someday, great question, Adele, thank you, and I hope
you day you too. Adele.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
It's ask us anything, your chance to call into the
show and ask us anything on your mind. Eight seven
seven nine eight one, nine eight one.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
And remember you can always send us a message with
our iHeartRadio app. Use that talk bag microphone on our app.
We're back in a sack on the Breeze. It's Leona
Lewis and it is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Coret.
Happy Monday.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Carolyn, I'm bringing you a cautionary tale here at eight
oh seven in the morning. This is one of those
times where you're like, don't do what Court did. I know,
I cannot wait for what happened to you. So the
other day, I am on the treadmill. I'm trying to
get my steps in and oftentimes if I can't get
out and walk around the city, I'll just go and
hop on the treadmill. Sure, so I go hop on
(12:45):
the treadmill. But I am tired, I'm exhausted, and so
at a certain point I thought it would be a
good idea to walk on the treadmill, but just rest
my eyes a little bit close my eyes, oh my gosh.
But in my brain I thought, you know what, I'm
just gonna rest my hands on the little They've got
the little bars in front of I'll just rest my
hands on that. That way, I have a point of reference.
(13:06):
Easy peasy, right. No, At a certain point, I think
I actually fell asleep but was walking because my hands
came down to my side and I started to drift
and I drove. But I'm walking, and I'm daydreaming, and
I'm slowly walking slower and slower, and I'm inching towards
the back of that treadmill.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
You could have been so injured. Also, you were the
only person I know that could potentially fall asleep while
walking on a treadmill.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
I'm kind of a feeling like people have done this before.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
I do not.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
I just don't recommend because by the time I realized
I was walking towards the end of the treadble crazy.
You can kind of feel it on the treadmill. There's
like a bottom drop that plant. Yes, and I fell
off that treadmill. Fortunately I was only going like fowl. Yeah. Well,
I just I came off the back. Oh my god.
I was only going about three miles an hour. I
(14:02):
was on level three. Oh my gosh, and so I
just kind of boop and then man, was I white awake? Then?
Speaker 1 (14:09):
I mean, this is just a I don't even call
this an insider tip or a pro tip. Just maybe
next time, when you're a little bit tired, you don't
walk on the treadmill.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
It seems like the easy solution. The stationary bike would
have seemed like a more appropriate place. You can't really
mess that up, right.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
I just feel like when you're so tired that you're
gonna fall asleep on a treadmill, maybe a nap would
be better because they say, okay, we're super tired like
that doing exercises like actually not good for you. Oh
maybe because it leads to falling off a.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Treadmill, Say no more, Say no more. I just figure
I wanted to get the workout in, get some steps in,
and also get my afternoon nap.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
That is such a court story. It's like an only
court story. Yeah, I guess so, Oh my gosh. Eight
seven seven nine eight one nine eight one. I'm gonna
throw this out there. If anybody else has fallen asleep
while walking on a treadmill, reach out to us or
send us a talk back with our iHeart radio app and.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Coming up later in the show eight fifty helping you
start your workday the right way. We're going to give
you ninety eight minutes commercial free
Speaker 1 (15:07):
Yes that's coming up at age fifty, to start your
Monday morning here on the Breeze
